From the narrow old streets to the colorful shutters, I’ve sure missed Europe! The Medio Alto Agordino region of the Dolomites has charming mountain villages in abundance; Sottoguda in the @officialmarmolada area was one of my favorites. Picturesque to a tee and surrounded by perfect mountains, it’s no wonder it was named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.     Bastano poche parole per descrivere le poesie raccolte in La casa in mezzo al prato-in Boscoverde di Rocca Pietore di Maria Luisa Daniele Toffanin. Poche parole sì, perché sono  i versi-gocce a trasudare le forti emozioni della poetessa di fronte allo spettacolo della montagna Dolomitica, con i suoi prati, sassi,  fiori e odori, immersi in una natura nutrice dei fecondi rapporti familiari…

The Marvellous Serrai di Sottoguda

3 dicembre 2017 - Proseguendo verso nord dal Lago di Alleghe, si giunge dopo una decina di minuti al borgo di Sottoguda. Domenica 3 dicembre il paesino era vuoto, oppure semplicemente i locali si guardavano bene dall'uscire dalle loro case ben riscaldate: fuori c’erano circa -10°. Invece noi ci spingevamo dentro il canyon e percorrevamo i Serrai di Sottoguda, che con la neve e le pareti di ghiaccio erano incredibilmente suggestivi.

3 December 2017- Continuing north from Lake Alleghe, you arrive after about ten minutes to the village of Sottoguda. On Sunday 3 December the village was empty, or simply the locals looked good from leaving their houses well heated: out there were about-10 °. Instead we pushed into the canyon and we used to walk through the Serras of Sottoguda, which with the snow and the walls of ice were incredibly suggestive.
