Bloomed in a garden of loneliness
A flower that resembles you
I wanted to give it to you
After I take off this foolish mask
A maid. That’s all you were. You thought in the eyes of the brown haired millionaire you were more but that was just you deluding yourself. At least that’s what you realised when you coughed up a bright pink petal. Flowers were supposed to be a symbol of love, affection, intimacy, right? So why were you facing difficultly in breathing, coughing out more of those pretty pink petals that belonged on a flower and not in a person’s lungs?
Baba saw you. You were cleaning around a room in the hotel when he decided to surprise you. Though he wondered why you were fumbling around, hiding your face from him until he saw the blood trickling down the side of your mouth. A fist full of bloody petals and your alarmed eyes staring back at him, widened beyond compare. He didn’t say a word, he couldn’t, and instead resorted to putting his arms around you instead until you let all your pent up feelings out in the form of hot tears.
You ended up telling him everything about it except the person in question. The subject of your hanahaki. Baba listened. Of course he did and it didn’t take him long to figure out the identity of the man you were so despairingly in love with. So he decided to keep his mouth sealed for your sake.
Eisuke Ichinomiya was a man of minimal emotions. But you always thought there was something rather special between the two of you. He treated you differently, better, than other women. He respected your wishes, gave you space when you asked for it, didn’t show an ounce of hesitation whenever you went to him for help over trivial matters, he unveiled to you his vulnerability, his cavernous, most nasty scars and you did the same in return. You always believed in that mutual sense of trust between you two. You never intended for more but the universe had other plans. You were the only one who truly knew him inside and out, his fears, his troubles, what he liked and what he didn’t like. How he preferred his coffee and that he hated peas more than anything. Was there any way to evade this rippling adoration for this man who so obviously yearned for the smooth caress of love and affection? No, there really wasn’t and now you were in deep, deeper than ever.
Baba had convinced you to at least tell Eisuke. He was sure that he’d reciprocate these feelings. It was either the disease disappearing for good or you dying from the excess of petals accumulating in your throat. You didn’t want to forget about these feelings for the brown haired man so from a little push from the other auction managers who found out about your hanahaki one way or another, you decided to confess tonight.
You hoped that’s not how your night ended. A night spent crying, at least not due to a broken, sorrowful heart. The last thing you expected was Eisuke walking in with a woman by his side, his hands on her waist as they disappeared into his room. The room you had cleaned countless times before. That was enough of an answer, wasn’t it? Tripping over your own feet, coughing up another load of petals drenched in blood with a tear stained face, you made your way down. They were all down there. Waiting for you like they always had. Their favourite person to talk to whenever they needed to rant when life was hard on them. You were always there for them so to see you all exhausted and ragged because of the man they called their friend, they couldn’t bear the sight. So you told them what had happened. And when you finally gave up and let yourself succumb to the exhaustion and fainted, Baba and Luke rushed you to the hospital to get rid of these torturous feeling once and for all.
It wasn’t until Eisuke walked down the stairs to the lounge from his penthouse that he finally caught up to what was going on. Mamoru and Ota were glaring daggers at him while Soryu grabbed him from his collar and effortlessly slammed him against the nearest wall. Demanding if it was fun leading you on and watching you pin after someone who wasn’t capable of feeling any human emotions. Eisuke was clueless of course so when Soryu spill everything out, Eisuke made a run for it to the hospital. Ears ringing, eyes bloodshot, on the edge of his seat as he speeded to the hospital. He thought of the possibilities, where it all went wrong and most of all, hoped. Hoped that she still hadn’t gotten the surgery. Forgotten about those beautiful feelings you had for him and the feelings he held for you. There was no way he wouldn’t fall for you. Not when you always looked up at him with the brightest, most dazzling eyes he had ever seen. All he did was a mere favour, sleeping with the woman once so the business deal could pass through. He never wished for you to see it, and if he was aware of your feelings for him, he never would’ve done it. He always considered himself way out of your league. Someone so charming and delicate shouldn’t be with a cold and ruthless bastard like him. But business be damned, he’d rather see you smiling from ear to ear, he’d rather be the cause of your happiness, your joy, the reason your eyes shone brighter than the scorching sun itself.
But he was too late. When he walked up to your hospital room, seeing the heart monitor along with several tubes going in and out of your body confirmed his suspicions. And for the first time, Eisuke Ichinomiya allowed himself to surrender to yearning and loneliness and let his tears fall freely. His heart was bursting with emotion but yours was devoid of any.
Maybe back then
A little
Just this much
If I had the courage to stand before you
Would everything be different now

okay, we chatted about Desmond in otome games. Let's me give you one called KIssed by The Baddest Bidder.
Let's say Desmond got burned by the Eye indeed and his body is taken by Abstergo and next thing Desmond woke up, revived and full of rage in an empty operating room. He wants to hide and settle for something normal but the bleeds of his ancestors' tragic life makes him wanna avenge them some way and he disappeared. Thus leading what begun a mysterious purge to those certain people who work in Abstergo, huge headlines in the news and articles about it.
In the global crime underworld, an uprising faceless individual, mysterious and ominous with an alias name " The Grim Reaper". Mafias and criminals can gain a favor from him as long it aligns his goals. After the purge that went for 2 years, he once again disappeared like smoke.
Desmond starts his retirement as a cleaner in the day shift and a bartender at the night shift in the Tres Spades Hotel. He also ended saving a girl from strange men and now he's being sold in a black market auction as replacement for the girl who broke some glass statue. Sold 20 million is that he worth and they are VIPs in the hotel???? so much for peace and quiet.
Love interests in the game:
Eisuke Ichinomiya - mmmmmm. boss x worker that piques his interest. what if Coralina and her father recognizes Desmond a lookalike of a lord in Monteriggioni
Soryu Oh - used Desmond for some sort of escort or servant for Mei Ling. Yet Desmond acts a bodyguard like wtf how can he shoot with perfect accuracy and track people easily.
Mitsunari Baba - master thief x retired master assassin / hitman. Baba found the perfect partner in stealing albeit by force. what's this he walks silently, can find the target treasures easily. Why does his eyes seem to glint gold in the faint light at night? Baba is a flirt and womanizer yet Desmond is unexpected with witty sexual innuendos that makes Baba blush
Ota Kisaki - a scene where that two faced artist might sneak a peek Desmond's small notebook that he dropped accidentally. Ota opened to see beautiful pencil and pen drawn sketches of people and places. A castle, a fortesss, a homestead. People with a cowl and some don't. Cue Ota felt a chill and turned to see Desmond looking at him with a neutral face but his eyes are furious.
Mamoru Kishi - police man x retired assassin. enough said but make it mamoru aware of the a cold case of abstergo purge and look at Desmond's behavior like he can't... can he??????
Shuichi Hishikura politician x retired assassin. Desmond philosophical talks might make him think twice or shock him with small hints of secret history as playful jokes. Jokes right?????
Hikaru Aihara - working assassin x retired assassin. Desmond knows definitely about his work. Would be a nice scene where Hikaru knows the Grim Reaper or had heard or seen him work. Made a positive remarks in the strory telling and Desmond just internally laughs cos that's me but shhhhh
Luke Foster - probably angst and slow burn cos he's a doctor and desmond already have too many bad experiences with doctors and scientists
Rhion Hatter - the mad hatter.....maybe friends to lovers...
Basically just the bidders get a whiplash of what they thought is a normal and simple man named Desmond meets more than the eye HAHAHAHAHA
I’m kinda thinking of how this wouldn’t just end with Desmond going ‘fuck this shit’ and running away from whichever route he is in and the first thought I have is to stop him by pushing into his sense of duty and responsibility.
So we’re going to make Desmond have a desire for vengeance on this one.
He had simply been a retired Assassin, just living his life, when he learned that one of his coworkers died the day before the auction because he had been snooping around to find something.
Desmond learns that the killer is someone connected to the auction.
He saved the girl and agreed to be auctioned because he needs to find a way to get close to these VIPs to learn which of them killed his coworker.
Because his coworker?
… was one of the Assassins of the Japanese Brotherhood.
And that coworker was looking into the auction because one of the VIPs is actually one of the few Templars that escaped the ‘purge’.
When he learned that he was sold for 20 millions by multiple VIPs, he tried to sus them out using his Eagle Vision.
But they all glowed gold.
And that’s when Desmond has to pick one of them.
.
The idea is: the killer of the Assassin can be one of them or someone connected to them, the killer’s identity changes depending on which route Desmond takes. The Templar also changes into someone in the route, maybe even the main love interest.
The main point is that this keeps Desmond into keeping up the appearance of the being a ‘bought’ man, all the while having his own agenda.
Eisuke Ichinomiya – Carolina and her father are the Templars. To be more exact, her father is a Templar but she’s being ‘educated’ as one. This would have an alternate ending of Desmond being able to get to Caroline and she becomes his ally. Her father knows who Desmond Miles is and mistakes this to mean that Eisuke has allied with the Brotherhood.
Soryu Oh – The Templars would be after Mei Ling and Desmond gets to the bottom of it which ends up being messy af because Simon Lee actually has connection with the Assassins in China for some reason. The Ice Dragon is also connected with the Japanese Brotherhood.
Mitsunari Baba – Mitsunari’s next target turns out to be a POE and his informant is the Templar and killer. Desmond taking the POE instead of him will be the main cause of conflict between the two of them.
Ota Kisaki – This is one where Desmond would probably end up taking a more aggressive role because he’s not going to be a pet after the hell he went through from Abstergo and William Miles. Ota trying to talk to him like an unruly dog (maybe even call him a mutt) would end with Desmond punching him which will surprise Ota but also make Desmond interesting.
Mamoru Kishi – Mamoru is super sus of Desmond from the get go and Desmond thinks of him as a dirty cop so they’re not off to a good start. Part of their relationship arc would be Desmond finding out why Mamoru is more on the morally dubious side than plain dirty and Mamoru’s main conflict would be learning about Desmond’s past as the spree killer that singlehandedly taken down Abstergo and plunged the company to ruins by killing high ranking members after he had already fallen in love with Desmond.
Shuichi Hishikura – He and Desmond gets into debates more often than not. Desmond doesn’t have a good track records with politicians and people in power to govern the people so Desmond certainly pretends to be polite but he’s wary of Shuichi. Shuichi sees him as being bright though and thinks he might have a knack for politics which makes Desmond shiver in disgust.
Hikaru Aihara – This one would be more on Hikaru knowing there’s something more about Desmond but he can’t be sure but Desmond has heard of him. The Brotherhood had actually given him a head’s up because he’s a ‘freelancer assassin’. They were coworkers before he bought Desmond so they know each other and Desmond is suspicious that Hikaru might have been hired to kill the Assassin by a Templar.
Luke Foster – Desmond’s probably going to be flirty with him, might even slip and call him dottore more than once. Since he works in a secretive clinic that does back alley surgery, there’s a high possibility that Luke is actually an ally of the Brotherhood, not that Desmond knew that. He's comfortable with Luke sometimes because Ezio's Bleed makes him remember the doctors who didn't ask too many questions and simply healed him. Luke is actually keeping it a secret from Desmond because he believes Desmond is just caught up in all these because he’s trying to protect a girl and Desmond believes Luke is hiding something which means he needs to be cautious about him (this would be angst + slow burn + misunderstanding galore XD)
Rhion Hatter – considering he’s half English and the son of a duke, we can make him a Templar. If you don’t want a Templar x Assassin drama for this one, his grandmother could be the Templar and he ran away from her which makes him and Desmond have similar… family ‘problems’. XD

@yukikorogashi — munday asks !! what are your honest thought about your muse’s canon? what are your favorite RP tropes to play? (angst, hurt-comfort, etc…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh boy ... i have a lot of feelings about rei's canon. for one, i will forever hate how the original 90s anime butchered her character by turning her into a boy-crazy, hot-tempered brat. in fact, i actually disliked rei immensely, especially because the old english dub took liberties with the script & made her an outright bully who took pleasure in verbally abusing people ( she reminded me too much of asuka langely soryu ). of course, once i gained access to the sub version, i liked her a bit more because i got to see her soft side, plus a more accurate script ( she's not NEARLY as harsh ) but still. i much prefer her manga characterization; the seemingly aloof, proud girl who has a passionate side with a very, very contained temper is sooo... wonderful. her terrible experiences with men & how that stems from her father's neglect is in stark contrast to how the 90s anime portrayed things.
with that in mind, i ADORE angst threads. i breathe angst & fluff. if someone could give me both, i'd be unbelievably happy.

A tall man solemnly walked through the field with a bundle of flowers held tightly in his hand. He moved so..familiarly. Knowing where to step, and where not too. Knowing what root to walk over. From afar, he saw the fated tree that covered his beloved from the harsh exposure to the breeze. Leafs that seemed to dance in the wind’s harsh melody slightly grazed the tip of every blade of grass, tickling it to move to the beat as well. Not an ideal condition for a hushed greeting, but nonetheless it was the only place where he could meet her. His footsteps grew silent as the distance between the two shortened. There she was. He looked down lovingly at his beloved, his skin crinkling near the far end sides of his eyes as he smiled. How long had it been since he’s seen her?
“Hi, honey..” Soryu whispered through the small hushed cracks of the breeze. Below him, a grave decorated with crusted flowers and muddy dirt responded to him. Again, not an ideal meeting..Not in the slightest.
“I’ve brought you some flowers. You’re favorite. Here. Let me just..” Parting his hand from his pocket, he used the back of his palm to brush away at the impurities that were scattered along his lover’s grave. “There..That does it.”
Even the barrier the tree provided wasn’t strong enough to prohibit the decaying plants to weasel their way onto her resting place. Hah. It wasn’t only the trees fault was it? He neglected the time they could’ve spent together years before this. Always making excuses. He didn’t love her? Nonsense. He knew he loved her. So much, it scared him to stand before her.
“..I’ve-“ His voice cracked as he settled down the arrangement of flowers. “I’ve still haven’t forgiven you.” The violent words expelled off of his tongue and hung dryly in the frost bitten air. His fist that were now empty curled up into themselves to form a tight ball.
“Do you remember? All the promises you made me?” He felt the flood of memories surge back into his head. Each one of them replaying every significant memory they induldged with one another, no matter how minuscule it was. Such precious memories once warmed his heart. That..was years ago. Now, he looked back at those times and only felt an acute pain imbedded into his heart.
“Maybe..you’ve forgotten? I doubt it. But, really..Do you? Do you truly remember?”
Some force incomprehensible to his own mind buckled his knees vehemently down. The silver suit he would wear so proudly now was inches deep into the dirt. Emotions he had prodded down into his soul now started to surface their way to his heart. What was it? Why? He had seen the horrors of hell and yet hadn’t felt even a pinch of remorse. Yet, talking to a grave which held his true love seemed to weaken him beyond repair.
“Are you mocking me?” A voice almost completely intoxicated with grief echoed through the graveyard.
“Why? Why? WHY? You LIED!” The flowers that brought color to such a melancholic place were now struck away with intense brutality. What replaced it was a hard pound of a fist that crumpled the stone structure down to its core. It hurts. It hurts so much. Everything seemed to slowly strangle the air around Soryu, prompting ragged breaths to expel out of his mouth. Why? Why did she leave him? All alone?!
“You were the only one to NEVER lie to me!” Soryu’s chilling facade slowly faded with the tears that cascaded down his cheeks.
“You told me we would die TOGETHER!” He pounded the grave again.
“You said that we would raise a family TOGETHER! You said that you would NEVER LEAVE ME!”
Pictures of the memories so precious to him now started to tear apart savagely in his head.
“Damnit! DAMNIT! I can’t- I cant..I cant do this. It hurts. It hurts too much. Fuck!” He plummeted his head into the stone and weeped. This. This was what he was afraid of. Letting her see the most vulnerable side of him.
“Don’t leave me..Please! I don’t want to be alone..” Child like wails that would never reach her ears again.
“I love you. I love you. I LOVE YOU. IS THAT NOT ENOUGH?! Come back! COME BACK, DAMNIT!” Soryu could feel himself steadily losing his sanity to the mourning he neglected all these years. He knew too well she was never coming back. No magic, no love in the world, no matter how strong it was could. All he could do was wish she was standing alongside him.
“....Both of you..Come back.”
An even more selfish request. A child. His child. THEIR child also dancing along in the stars with her. All he wanted was his family. Someone to love. Someone to protect. Must the world be rid of everything dear to him?
“You..” Soryu seized his sanity. Inhaling stuttered breaths that rocked his body with every intake. Keep it together, Soryu. For you. For her.
“I-“ He bit his lips nervously. Did he want to say these next words? “I..love you. I do..forgive you. And I hope..” He cut his words short with another sharp intake of air.
“I hope you’re happy. If you’re happy, I’ll try to be.” Soryu’s head rose up from the surface and stared compassionately at his beloved's and his child’s name carved beautifully into the stone he once despised. He needed to let these negative feelings waste away. She wouldn’t have wanted this. She didn’t want to leave..Soryu was sure of this now.
Tears still flowed on his cheeks and didn’t display any chance of halting. A smile however, displayed softly on his red stained face.
“You said..You’d grow old with me.” A soft chuckle rolled from his tongue as he traced her name with his fingers. “I’ll let this one slide this time..”

Soryu Oh x MC
Prompt: “I l-“  “Please… Don’t…”
Warnings: Angst
The city of Tokyo was just a busy as usual as I strolled down the streets window shopping. It was my first day off in a week and I decided that rather than hanging around the hotel and waiting for my penthouse pager to buzz, that I’d make use of my free time and window shop for a while, maybe even go to a café or something. I know if I wasted time in the hotel that one of the auction managers would catch sight of me and make me go on some pointless errand just for the sake of making me do something. The sight of a dress in a window of a boutique caught my eye, making me take a second look and stop to take a closer look. The dress was rather plain looking but I think it would suit me, I wonder if Soryu would like it? Just as my mind started to wonder, I felt a vibration in my pocket, immediately knowing that it’s my penthouse pager, so much for a peaceful day in the city. I pulled it from my pocket and saw that it wasn’t my pager but my mobile phone.
“Oh!” I raised my eyebrows in surprise and smiled when I saw the caller ID on the screen. It’s not often Soryu would call me, if he needed me he would usually page me so I knew this must be important. “Hey Soryu, what’s up?” I answered coolly, my first thought was he got the day off and was calling me to ask me out on a date, so I tried to keep my composure and not let the excitement I’m feeling of speaking to the man I adore come out in my voice.
“Come to the penthouse, there’s something I need to discuss with you.” He spoke in a monotone voice, a tone I haven’t heard from him in a long time. Not since we shared our first kiss about a month ago in his office at the Ice Dragon’s headquarters. It was on that day that we had told each other that we loved one another. Probably one of the best days of my life. When I first met Soryu he had struck me as a cold, hard, and emotionless person who would do anything to get the job done. Had I known that before I chose him to be the one who bought me, I probably wouldn’t have picked him. But after a few months I had seen a different side of him that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. So, I have no regrets about picking Soryu.
“Okay I’ll be th-…oh okay.” I frowned and sighed as I was cut off by him hanging up the phone. I took one last look at the dress and rolled my eyes, making my way back to the hotel with a dull feeling of anxiety in my stomach from how Soryu sounded and by how blunt he was.
It didn’t take me long to arrive at the penthouse in which I had spent so much time in recently, my shoes clicked on the floor as I made my way through to the couches where I saw Soryu sitting, a saddened look on his face and his posture slumped. I questioned in my mind as to where the other auction managers could be, wondering if they had purposely made themselves scarce.
“___” He spoke my name, getting up and walking over to me. His eyes locked onto mine and he let out a long sigh as he stopped in front of me. Immediately I could tell something was wrong, making the dull feeling of anxiety in my stomach skyrocket into a fireworks display of anxiety.
“What’s going on? Did something happen? Is it Inui?! Is he hurt?!” I gasped at the thought of sweet Inui being hurt. But to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me. He’s adorable and loyal but not the sharpest crayon in the box.
“No! No he’s fine!” Soryu’s eyes widened and eyebrows raised in surprise when he saw I had jumped to that conclusion, being quick to dismiss my worries. “I have something I need to tell you.” He broke eye contact with me and suddenly found the floor very interesting to look at.
“What is it…?” My voice came out quieter than expected, not anticipating what Soryu said next.
“I have to marry Mei Ling Lee. I’m sorry.” His words hit me like train, my stomach dropping through the many floors underneath my feet, landing on the stage of the auction hall where I was sold. “We have to end this.” He still wouldn’t make eye contact with me, probably not wanting to see the tears that he knew had flooded to my eyes.
“B-But…we love each other!” Was all I could manage to say, it coming out as a soft whimper, my cheeks being rained on by my tears. I couldn’t quite comprehend the situation, just a month ago he was taking me in his arms, pressing soft kisses to my lips and telling me he loved me. Now he doesn’t dare to look me in the eyes as he breaks up with me to marry a mafia’s boss’s daughter for his job. I always knew that his job would come first, his commitment to the Ice Dragon’s being his main priority in life. He finally looked into my eyes, his eyes wavering to control his emotions from showing. “I l-“
“Please…don’t…” He spoke quietly in almost a whisper, almost like he couldn’t bring himself to hear me say those words. Taking a step closer to me, he reached out and stroked my cheek gently, before letting his hand drop down to his side. “Go. You’re free now.” He stepped back, putting distance between us and turning his back to me.
“I don’t want to be free...” My words came out as a choked sob, my hands coming to my face in disbelief of the situation. I didn’t ask him any questions about the situation he was in, not wanting to hear anymore about his marriage to a woman who wasn’t me. Luckily my legs subconsciously moved themselves to make my exit. Not looking back at the man I thought would spend the rest of my life with as I run away from the life I had come to love.
A/N: I take requests so if you have a request or prompt then send them my way! Here is a list of characters I write for. Thank you for reading!

I’ll Stay by Your Side, Every Night - Soryu Oh
For our very own, @joaxotome; one of the sweetest, kindest, and most amazing humans I have had the honour to meet. I don’t think I write Soryu that well, because the last Soryu piece I wrote was over a year ago lmao, but I tried. I hope you like this, Joanne. Thank you for being such an amazing ball of energy who can cheer anyone up in a mere few seconds. Love you. <3
Also, since you said you love yourself some angst to love, I tried to make it come true. Cheers to me writing better Soryu fics, hahaha.
This one’s for the discord exchange, and I’d just like to take a moment to thank our very own @voltage-vixen for hosting this beautiful event <3!!
TW: Angst (with fluff... or so I hope.) This work is based around the ideas of abuse; mental, emotional, physical. If you are in any way uncomfortable with that, do not read this.
Tumblr media
“Are you going to cry now?” He smirks, his eyes glinting in a way that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
All I see is black as my eyelids force shut, not wanting to look at his face for a second longer, too scared to think about what will happen to me if I do.
“Hahaha,” he laughs and I sense him bending low, his face coming closer to mine. “Look at you, scared and shivering like the mess you are.” I shift uncomfortably, feeling his breath creating warm spots on my neck as his voice lowers, almost down to a whisper, “You asked for it, baby.”
“Ugh!” I jolt, my groan muffled against the cloth stuffing my mouth when I feel his fingers stroke the sides of my waist, teasing, testing the waters.
And then, before I know it, his palm comes to rest on my chin and in one swift motion his fingers pull out the dirty piece of fabric gagging me. My eyes burn with unshed tears at the pain in my mouth, caused by the sudden pull, and I take a deep breath, refusing to admit defeat in front of this bastard.
It’s okay. It’s okay. It’ll be okay. I’ll survive. I know I will. At least I hope I will.
“Baby,” he purrs, almost as if coaxing me, “Open those beautiful eyes of yours for me, won’t you?”
My breathing shallows and goosebumps show up on my skin at the nickname, the way he calls out to me in that god forsaken voice.
His rugged fingertips graze the corners of my jaw, almost as if luring me back into him, back into that web of pain, lies and suffering. “Look at me,” he whispers, and I shiver at the tilt in his tone, reminding me of the days when things between us started to go awry. “Don’t worry Joanne, I’m not going to hurt you.”
Just as his fingers tighten around my jaw, I hear the sound of a mobile ringing. He clicks his tongue in annoyance, and my sigh of relief goes unnoticed. I hear his footsteps as they back off and walk in the direction of the device which refuses to stop ringing.
My guess is that he picks up the incoming call, because no sooner than his feet stop do I hear him let out a muted, “What is it?” Again, I hear his footsteps move away, and then a door opens, and then it shuts. And then? Complete silence.
My uneven breaths echo in the silence so eerie you would hear it if a snail moved.
As I try to calm myself down, my mind chooses the worst distraction it possibly could have; my past with this man.
When did we become like this? Why did we become like this? What went wrong?
We had started off on such good terms. Both of us were madly in love. He was the perfect boyfriend; he would take me out on dates, message me constantly, shower me with his love, call me nicknames, spend time with me... or so I thought.
About a year into our relationship I realised how badly had I fucked up. I realised how blind I was to the changes in his behaviour; the way I didn’t notice how him taking me out on dates turned into him forcing me out when I didn’t want to go, just to show me off as his trophy girlfriend, how his constant messaging turn into something obsessive, how him showering me with his love turned into showering me with his abuses, how calling me nicknames turned into calling me a whore or a slut whenever I so much as even looked at someone else, the gender didn’t matter, how him spending time with me turned into him gluing himself to my side, never once leaving me.
Always on the look-out for when I’d commit even the slightest of errors. Because then he would unleash all his names, curses, abuses at me; making me feel like I didn’t deserve to be loved.
Well, maybe I didn’t.
Over time, those curses and abuses turned physical as he turned more violent, slapping me or beating me up for even the most minor of mistakes. Those verbal slurs turned emotional, making me feel like I didn’t deserve to be alive. Hah, what a cheeky little failure.
“Heh,” I scoff at myself, laughing at how naive I was to not realise when our love turned into something that would make most people sick to their core.
What makes me feel the most miserable about our past is that I allowed myself to be used and abused. Even when he didn’t reply to my texts, ignored me for days sometimes, and clearly had stopped even so much as glancing my way... I still hadn’t given up.
Not until that one fateful day when I saw him. In my bed. With not just one, but two bloody women.
Silly girl, one of his sex friends had said, smirking in all her naked glory, can’t you see the truth right in front of you? This is his little kingdom, and you’re not the queen anymore.
“Argh,” I groan, my thoughts coming back to the present when I feel my bound wrists numb with pain at a tear in the thin skin that covers them. Rolling my shoulders to forget about the pain for the time being, I pull at the rope tying my wrists behind my back, in futile hopes that it would come loose.
“Ah, I always loved the feisty side you hid underneath all that cute drama.”
I jump and my body freezes in its spot, my eyes widening at the proximity of his voice.
In my peripheral vision I see his face, his chin coming to rest on my shoulder with him standing right behind me.
When did he come back?
“While you were too busy reminiscing about the beautiful bubble you had created for yourself with me,” he chuckles, as if reading my mind. Looking at the way my eyes refuse to un-widen, he continues, “You were always easy to read. Now weren’t you, Joanne?”
“Why are you doing this?” I whisper, my head bent, refusing to stay up any longer.
“Because, Joanne,” he starts, a lewd smirk lining his face when I let out a choked sob on the use of my name, “I want you to have your epiphany.”
“My what?” I ask, looking up at him, wondering if I heard him right.
“Your epiphany,” he repeats. I feel the throbbing in my wrists relax as the ropes slowly come undone, surprising me. He slowly walks around me, coming to a stop just in front of me. My heart only pounds faster when I catch the glint of the knife in his hands. “I want you to realise what a useless little bitch you are without me in your life. Nobody loves you, kitten. Nobody did, nobody would.”
“Stop...” I whisper, bowing my head in defeat, trying to mute out all his words in an attempt to stop them from having their effect on me.
“You, Joanne, are a pretty little good for nothing.” He smiles, his palm resting on my shoulders. “Your friends run away from you, your peers refuse to talk to you. Ever wondered why?”
No, Joanne. Don’t listen. It’s okay. It’ll be okay. Every thing will be fine. Just breathe.
“Because, oh darling,” he murmurs, dragging the knife’s tip up my neck, slowly, “you are so very broken and no one cares to notice.”
“I trusted you,” I say, finding the courage to meet his eyes from god-knows-where. I meet his challenging gaze head on, trying to sound as angry and frustrated as I feel, “I trusted you so much.”
“Well then you can’t exactly blame me, can you? It was your mistake.”
“What the fuck do you want?!” I yell, immediately regretting it when I see how his smile turns from teasing to predatory.
“What do I want?” He mutters, bringing his face so close to mine I can feel his disgusting breath on my lips. He drags the tip of the knife lower... and lower... and lower, until it reaches my abdomen.
I can’t think.
“You want to know what I want, Joanne?”
I can’t breathe.
"I want so many things," he whispers. "I want your mind. Your strength. I want to be worth your time."
His eyes hold me still, as if commanding me to stay where I am.
His fingers graze the hem of my top and he says, "I want this up." He tugs on the waist of my pants and says, "I want this down." He touches the tips of his fingers to the sides of my body and mutters, "I want to feel your skin on fire. I want to feel your heart racing next to mine and I want to know it's racing because of me, because you want me.
And then I hear the sound of something sharp piercing skin, and the sound of blood oozing out. My eyes slowly travel down to look at my waist where the knife rests, buried deep in my body.
Because you never, " he breathes and pulls me up to him, and looking up, in the depths of his eyes I see the formation of something that makes me lose my mind, "never want me to stop. I want every second. I want every inch of you. I want all of it." He smirks, pushing the knife deeper into me as his fingers come to rest on my chest, where I feel my heart pound, "I want your soul."
And I drop dead, all over the floor.
Tumblr media
“Joanne?” I hear a voice call out my name. It’s almost distant. Almost.
All I see is pitch black as I feel my heart pound out of control and my body grow hot.
“Joanne, love,” The voice says, insistent, and it’s as if my body automatically relaxes a little at the familiarity of it. “Can you hear me? Wake up, baby.”
I feel the urge to reach out and grab at the voice, and so I do. I stretch out a hand into the darkness that surrounds me, in the hopes of grasping on to something, not knowing what it is.
“JOANNE, WAKE UP!” I sense someone’s fingers curl around mine, grabbing my outstretched hand, and pulling me towards a strong, warm chest, immediately jolting me awake.
“Wha-What?” I whisper, not quite catching up with what is going on. All I see in front of me is a navy blue hoodie, covering a broad, strong frame, and I look up to meet a familiar pair of eyes, as calming and deep as the ocean.
“Hi,” he says, giving me a relieved smile. But for some reason, while my body calms down, my mind delves right back into the state of panic as I feel my nightmare overlapping with my reality.
“Get away from me!” I yell, pushing him away, and jump away from the bed, running to the opposite end of the room.
“Joanne?” He calls out, his eyes widening in surprise, maybe not expecting me to run away. Oh no, maybe I angered him. Maybe he will beat me up now. Oh no.
“Don’t take my name!” I say, covering my ears. I can still hear his voice ringing in my head, letting my name out from his sickening lips.
He gets out from the bed, slowly, steadily, and looks at me with a warm, comforting gaze, “It’s me, Joanne. It’s Soryu.”
“S-Soryu?” I murmur, slowly looking up to meet his eyes. I try to calm my ragged breathing down as I gradually start registering what is going on. But the moment he takes a step towards me, I immediately jump back.
“Love,” he coaxes, “at least let me clean you up. You’re all sweaty.”
Wait. I am?
It’s when he says that do I notice the state I am in; my face wet with tears, my body sticky with sweat and my fingers trembling with fear.
‘... Joanne, I’m not going to hurt you.’
“Come here,” Soryu says, opening his arms for me.
“Why?”
“Just come here,” he mumbles, taking a step forward.
“No!” I shout, stopping him in his tracks as I flinch away. “You’re going to hit me.”
“I’m not going to hurt you, Joanne.”
“I’ve heard those words before.”
He looks at me, his hair still a mess, and in that moment in the pale moonlight he looks more handsome and more human than I have ever seen him. “I guess I’m asking you to trust me,” he says, opening his arms wide, once again, for me to fall into.
I stand there, shaking in fear for a moment, but when I see his deep, grey orbs look at me with so much longing and care, I finally start to take slow, deliberate steps towards him.
Within a few steps, I fall into his strong embrace, letting it consume me and make me forget about whatever I dreamed of.
When his fingers comfortingly start stroking my back with extreme patience and give me that sense of security I was so desperately searching for is when the dam breaks and all the tears I had been holding in rush out.
He stands there, silent as a graveyard, patting my back in a rhythmic pattern, not once judging.
“Why are you doing this?” I ask not being able to think of an answer myself.
“Doing what?” He murmurs, his voice muffled by my hair as he rests his mouth against my head, kissing the spot before staying there.
“Treating me like a person,” I whisper.
“I’m doing this because,” he starts, pulling away to look in my eyes. His fingers gently grab my chin, guiding my face towards his, to make sure our eyes are locked, “I love you, Joanne.”
My lips form a smile when I realise how much he means every one of his words. “I love you too, Soryu.”
He smiles, his fingertips stroking my cheek, patient. His other arm wraps around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
“What are you thinking?” I ask, my fingers reaching up to play with the soft fabric of his hoodie.
“I’m thinking of how I want-” he stops when he sees my face go pale.
‘I want your soul.’
“Never mind what I want,” he whispers, effectively stopping me from going too far into my nightmares again. “What do you want?”
“You.”
I suck a breath, surprising myself at how I don’t even waste a second to say it to him.
Always you.
“Love,” he brings his face closer to mine, his voice low, “You already have all of me.”
I gasp at the amount of emotion in his voice, the ineffable level of care those eyes hold for me, and he bends lower, his lips almost touching mine.
“May I?” he asks...
... when he doesn’t need to. I smile, gently standing on my tip-toes and pressing our lips together.

Soryu’s Slain Sweetheart (Request)
(WARNING! This is very angsty. Read at your own risk.)
Going out to enjoy breakfast with your loved one is supposed to be a treat, thought Soryu. What started off as a peaceful date, ended up in a tragedy for the two lovers.  He was sitting by MC’s bedside in the hospital wishing, hoping, begging, and praying that she would wake up. His friends and some of the men from the dragons stopped by to offer their support and condolences, but he shooed them away. Even Luke was sent out of the room, when he tried to prepare Soryu for any possible outcomes. Soryu just wanted to be alone with MC. The beeps coming from the machines helping keep MC alive, were a grim reminder of what had happened earlier that morning.
The day started off normal, except Soryu had tried to cook breakfast for MC for once. Needles to say, cooking had never been one of his strong suits and he caused a mini explosion in the kitchen. MC had run out of the bedroom when she heard the noise and laughed when she saw Soryu standing there covered in egg, after making sure he was first ok. God, how he would give anything to hear her laugh again, Soryu thought to himself as he continued to recall the events leading up to now. She had suggested they go out to eat for a change, and Soryu happily agreed as they held hands all the way to the restaurant. They enjoyed a tranquil meal as they planned what they were going to do the rest of the evening after the auction.
After Soryu had settled the bill, they left the restaurant and stopped at a nearby store so MC could get a new dress for the night’s auction. Soryu didn’t even think MC realized just how gorgeous she was as she stepped out of the fitting room and gave a small twirl while asking for his opinion. Taken aback by her beauty, he reassured her just how gorgeous she was, and dragged her back into the fitting room so he could show her just how much she turned him on. Would that be the last time he ever felt her soft lips on his, he wondered miserably as the memories continued to play on in his mind. He had no idea the horror that had been awaiting them as they left the dress shop.
Everything happened so quickly, parts of the scene were still a blur to Soryu. All he really remembered was hearing gunshots, as his first instinct was to tackle MC to the ground and cover her with his body.
He recalled feeling the blood drain from his face, as he saw the blood spill from her’s. Soryu held MC frozen in fear once he realized she had been shot in the head. A passerby screamed for helped, as someone called for an ambulance. Despite the chaos surrounding them, he wept as he held her in his arms, and refused to let go of her even after the ambulance arrived. Soryu stayed by her side throughout the ride to the hospital, and even when the doctors working on her tried to kick him out, he refused to leave. The doctors had managed to stabilize MC, but they weren’t very optimistic about her recovery.
Soryu knew how strong MC was, and he refused to ever abandon hope that would indeed make a full recovery one day. He swore he would wait for her if he needed too and would always continue to love her regardless of any lasting conditions she may develop. “I love you more than you will ever know MC. Please come back to me soon.” Sensing a small squeezing sensation in his hand, Soryu looked down only to see the slight movement had come from MC’s hand. He was about to call for a nurse, when the machines started to beep more rapidly, and the monitors started to flash. A swarm of doctors and nurses ran into the room and told him he had to leave. Soryu declined their request, and suddenly Eisuke and Luke had entered the room to escort him to the waiting room.
Soryu started to pull his gun out of his suit jacket and threaten them, when Luke calmy stated, “You have to give the doctors room to work Soryu. They are doing everything they can in their power to help sexy bones. You have to give them a chance.” Eisuke sat in silence but gestured for Soryu to join him in the chairs. The mobster knew his friends were right, and he sighed as he sat down besides them. Unable to stay sitting, Soryu jumped up and was pacing back and forth around the waiting room. After what seemed like a lifetime of waiting, one of the doctors finally came out to the waiting room.
Soryu rushed over to the doctor and asked in a concerned tone, “How is she?” The doctor hesitated momentarily before proceeding. “I’m sorry sir. Her injuries were extensive, and we did everything in our capability to try and save her, but I’m afraid she’s gone.” Soryu felt his mind go blank as the world around him slowly started to fade away. He punched the wall and started screaming. This wasn’t real life; this was a just a horrible nightmare he was having, Soryu told himself. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Luke speaking with the doctor, and Eisuke was talking on the phone to someone. How could they all be so calm about this? Luke had approached Soryu and put his hand on his shoulder. “I’m sorry for your loss Soryu. I know how important sexy bones was to you.” Soryu pushed him away and roared, “Her name was MC!”
Grabbing his gun, he stormed out the door of the hospital. “I swear I will find the son of a bitch that did this to you MC, and I will make them wish they had never been born.” The mafia man vowed he would avenge the love of his life, if it was indeed the last thing he would ever do.

Dinner party gone wrong (Soryu) (SFW)
Tumblr media
Fandom: Kissed by the Baddest Bidder (Love 365)
Pairing: Soryu Oh x Reader
Warning: DEATH AND ANGST *TRIGGER WARNING*
Note: I need a hug, I cant do this ;w;
You were laying splayed out on the bed, while Soryu was gently rubbing your leg. Reading his detective novel out to you, making the story all that amazing. Your eyes closed as you listening to his voice, it was deep and soothing.
You find yourself completely relaxed, and you didn’t noticed when he had stopped reading from his book. “Hey ____, are you awake?” he asked.
You jumped at the mention of your name, “Barely, but yes.”
“We have been invited to a dinner tomorrow evening.”
You hummed and sighed, “Do we have to go?” you asked, you could hear Soryu chuckle, he found it amusing that you didn’t like showing your face, he knew you’d rather be a homebody.
“Yes, it is very big event. Ten mobs are coming and representing. We need to go” he sat up and rolled over to his side. He propped himself on his side, he loved how relaxed you looked. He gently kissed your lips and pulled the covers over your body, he snuggled close and listened to your breathing. It was such a calm serene feeling, to be beside you. He hoped this happiness would last forever.
The evening came and you were getting dressed, Soryu helped zip up your dress, kissing your neck gently, the blue velvet felt amazing against your skin, “Soryu, are you sure we have to go?” you asked, letting out a breathy moan. “I’d rather continue this moment here where you take off my dress, not zipping it up.”
You turned around and saw Soryu in his business attire, he looked absolutely beautiful, a deadly, handsome, beauty. “Well, hello handsome~” you said, a smirk was on your face.
Soryu smirked as he adjusted his tie, he didn’t care much for the suit, but he knew you liked it, and it showed that he was The Boss. “Ready?” he asked.
“More than” you replied, he placed his hand on the small of your back and led you out of your home. Inui and Samejima were joining you along with five other members of the Ice Dragons.
Soryu got out first and opened the door for you, the outside of the restaurant didn’t look fancy, just a regular sushi joint. However, the inside looked extravagant, the hostess escorted your group to the V.I.P. lounge, in the back was a group of roughly 50 people, it was a partial indoor, outdoor venue surrounded by shrubbery.  It was secluded and private, a perfect thing for the Mob.
Soryu walked around, introducing you to various people, however it was a certain group that set you on edge. They were a younger mob, and they were intent on making a name for themselves. This set the other groups on edge, while this dinner was not meant to intimidate, it did have that side effect.
Soryu was icy towards them, you didn’t realize it but they had become quick enemies with the Ice Dragons. Hopefully this evening would smooth things over.
You were glued to Soryu’s side the entire time, it was true that you kept your friends closer. He didn’t want anything happening to you, for you were far too precious to him. He pulled you to the table and Inui sat beside you, Samejima sat on the other side of Soryu, his other members sat scattered around, other bosses did the same, it was just a way to make sure that your men were not all at the same place should something happen.
The waitress came by and asked your order, Soryu was first. He ordered the fugu fish, it was indeed a power play, and all the bosses followed through as they didn’t want to be outdone by Soryu. You leaned over and whispered to Soryu.
“How do you know that they are going to make your food right?”
Soryu, keeping his composure leaned back, “We have a man back there watching at all times.”
You nodded, happy to know that somebody was watching your husband’s back. It was about ten minutes into the dinner when you decided to try the fugu fish as well, it was obviously safe if it was being watched. “I’ll be right back, I am going to go freshen up.”
Soryu looked at you worried, you gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze, you didn’t dare kiss him though, and public display of affection would have put him in a difficult situation. “Take Inui with you?”
You laughed, “I think he’d be a little embarrassed to go into the little girl’s room. I promise I’ll be right back” you stood and made your way to the bathroom, after freshening up you made your way to the kitchen, intent on changing your order.
You gently knocked on the kitchen door and asked if you could change your order if it wasn’t too late. The kitchen staff happily obliged, and just when you were leaving did you hear the head chef being knocked out.
“Okay change him out, we need to get Soryu’s order just perfect, we can’t have anybody suspect it was us.” You lingered by the door a moment longer. You raced back to the party and you noticed how everybody was making a toast to Soryu’s health.
You sat back down, “What did I miss?” you asked. You wanted to tell Soryu what you had learned but it was so loud you didn’t know if he’d hear you.
“The new comers have pledged their allegiance to us, no more bickering” he explained. You nodded, wondering if what you heard was actually right.
When the dinner came out Soryu was first, “One Fugu sashimi?” the waitress asked.
Soryu was rasing his hand when you intercepted. “That is mine” Soryu looked at you in bewilderment, “I may have changed my order too… you said it was safe.”
Soryu had half a mind to take it from you, it was his dish after all, but maybe you had changed it to the same thing. The waitress placed your dish in front of Soryu. You smiled at Soryu, hoping that your smiling face would be burned into his memory. The next few moments would be torture to you.
You weren’t sure about the meaning of perfect, maybe they were making sure it wasn’t poisonous. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, and your palms were sweaty. This could potentially be the last meal you ever ate. How could you love a man so much that you’d be willing to sacrifice your life for him? You glanced at him, and smiled lovingly at him, “Soryu… I love you”
He looked at you puzzled, “Are you okay?” he asked, his eyes scanned your face.
“I’m fine Soryu, I am just glad you are achieving the peace you wanted.” You replied. You lifted your wine glass and everybody made a toast to him. “To Soryu!”
“To Soryu!”
You drank to his health and the dinner went underway. You glanced down at your food again, it looked perfectly innocent enough. You took your chopsticks and picked it up. The world seemed to go in slow motion as you brought it to your lips, you were however hyper aware of the sweat that dripped down your back. You hoped that you would survive this, but if you didn’t you knew you were dying for Soryu, because of your death he would live.
You felt the food go into your mind and you could feel yourself mechanically chewing. Soryu looked like he was enjoying himself. Good. You swallowed and braced yourself. You imagined it would have been instant, but of course it wasn’t.
Your hand dropped to below the table and you grabbed his free hand, you squeezed gently and that was when you felt a tingling on your lips.
“Oh…” you felt a tingling in your lips, and it quickly spread and became numb. You fell forward as you tried to catch yourself. You could feel your whole body becoming numb. Your body was quickly becoming paralyzed, you knew death was fast approaching.
Soryu noticed the blue around your lips, “_____, are you okay?” when you didn’t reply he was quick to react, “____?” when you fell towards him he immediately began to panic, “Call the ambulance!”
You glazed up at him, you couldn’t talk and your heart felt like it was being squeezed so painfully, you felt a sense of triumph in the sense that Soryu was going to avenge your death and that your death would have meaning.
You truly were a mob boss’ girl. Your eyes closed and you passed out.

Can I request a scenario where mc and soryu attend a large dinner held by a high mafia group. All of the leader of mafia has to attend. One of the leaders intends to kill soryu with poison in his food. Mc overhead the plan and at the last minute she switch the poisoned food with hers. I'll leave it to you to decide whether mc survive or not. Angst is life ♥♥
Thanks for requesting, I hope you enjoy it! Aside from my characterization problems, I am not all too confident in my angst, but I will try my best!  (ง'̀-‘́)ง I also decided to do it in a Reader perspective as I feel more comfortable with that at the moment, hope that’s alright!
Taking deep breaths as you speed through the hallways, you tried to remain calm and collected. Inside you were worried sick, your hands shaking and your mind buzzing from processing all the thoughts you had after witnessing that. You were gone only for a few moments, withdrawing to the bathroom, and leaving Soryu behind at the party.
You didn’t expect to stumble over a few men, standing around the corner next to the bathroom, talking about poisoning food and especially ‘dealing with the leader of the leader of the Ice Dragons’. Of course, you weren’t as dumb as to brush it off as nothing, especially not at a place like this where so many dangerous and brutal people were assembled in one place.
The men sounded quite serious as they were explaining their plan, luckily loud enough to hear. All you had to do was return to Soryu’s side and make sure to tell him about what was going on. You knew he’d listen to you. He had to. And yet, you had such a bad feeling, questioning what was about to happen yourself.
Thanking the guard at the door for holding it open for you, you stepped back into the full room, people laughing and chatting as if this was a charity event and not a mafia-meetup. You yourself had troubles with understanding all the things that these people talked about, instead smiling and nodding as expected of the wife of a leader.
You stood there, stretching on the tip of your toes to make out Soryu throughout the masses. You would have recognized him everywhere, even with his back turned and everyone attending in a suit, so it was no wonder when you found his slick back, black hair in the masses. At his sight, your heart gave off a sting, your feelings right now worrying you sick.
As quick as possible, you tried to get through the masses, apologizing left and right. Even though you were used to walking in heels now, you couldn’t do anything as you got caught up in a wrinkle in the carpet, tripping and spraining your ankle painfully. Even with some people staring you smiled through your pain, brushing off your incident as best as you can and approaching your husband with a limb.
When he noticed you, he excused himself from the person he was talking to, hurridly approaching you and offering you an arm to hold on as he noticed the pain in your expression. “Soryu, we have to get-” You were harshly interrupted by the chilling sound of a microphone echoing through the room and one of the operators speaking up. “Ladies and Gentlemen, if I may invite you to the dining room now. Food will be served there and we hope every one of you enjoys it!”
Biting your lip you turned around again, wanting to warn him once more, though it was Soryu himself who interrupted you. “Can you walk?” He gave a worried glance down at your ankle and you could feel that it was starting to swell, the strap of your shoe cutting into your flesh.
“Y-Yeah… But more importantly: We really need to lea-” There was another harsh interruption by a man approaching the two of you. You recognized him as one of the ones that had talked about the poisoning before and even though both you and Soryu stood up straight, you couldn’t help but glare at him. “Mister and Misses Oh, please this way, we are sure you will be satisfied with what we have to offer to our honorable guests.”
The two of you were practically shoved into the dining hall and seated before you could protest. Around you, people were already clinking their glasses and drinking, laughing merrily. Turning towards Soryu, you tugged at his sleeves without any response as he was conversing with the person to his right. You could see that it was wearing him out to be this present and always having to keep up his professional act, but right now you wished more than anything he’d listen to you.
The first course was brought out faster than you could ensure his safety and you stared at Soryu’s plate in horror. You still hadn’t been able to bring it up and slowly panic started to spread inside of you. He noticed your worried look at his food, asking, “What’s wrong?” while cutting down a biteable piece of it and picking it up with his fork.
You had to do watch him slowly raise it to his mouth and suddenly the panic overcame you, taking away all your reasonable actions for the situation. With a loud “Don’t!” you grabbed for his hand, basically feeding yourself with the fork. Immediately you regretted this action, as you felt your stomach retract itself as the inside of your mouth touched the ruined food and started to burn.
“It’s poisoned…” you managed to wheeze before ending up in a coughing fit, the tears filling your eyes from the pain you felt shooting through your body and little black and white frizzles appeared in your line of sight. You heard him shout your name before breaking down in your chair, a loud commotion arising around you.
You saw how his eyes were filled with immense pain and worry, a grim grimace playing around the features on his face before you blacked out completely.
But he was safe. That was all that mattered.

Too Late (kbtbb fic)
Summary: In an AU where MC (Sakurai Yuuki) helps all bidders but doesn’t start an immediate relationship with neither, she gets kidnapped by a very resourceful and strong Mafia. Are the bidders able to save her on time?   Genre: angst Masterpost
<-- Previous  Chapter 1   Next -->
She tries to breathe, that’s all she can do in the middle of the darkness and confusion, after all. To keep her mind busy, she starts counting the seconds, remembering how she got into the situation she’s currently in
Today is the IVC, it has been several months since the managers bought me in the illegal auction I, accidentally, stumbled in. So much has happened since then... I can’t stop reminiscing while working in one of the guest’s room: From when I helped Ichinomiya to make a deal with an Italian mob pretending to be his girlfriend to when I posed as MayLee Ling, one Chinese mob boss’ daughter that was under Soryu’s protection and I turned out to be her tour guide when she was in Japan, ‘At the end I think we end up as good friends’. My little and discreet smile at my memories transforms into a giggle as I remember how I got to be Baba’s partner in crime and Ota’s pet, not that it bothers me really, I just wish that the little artist would be more honest with himself, like when he got his art stolen, he was upset, but he didn’t say anything, it was good that he got the recognition he deserved afterward though, ‘after all, the bluebird was gorgeous’, I think while I enter my last room and start cleaning, it’s a bit messy, but nothing like Mamoru’s apartment, which I had to clean after the whole cult thing because how anyone can live like that? it really amazes me until now
As the memories keep flowing through my mind, a new coworker enters the room “Wow, you do a great job indeed, no wonder why you are the penthouse maid Sakurai” his comment is a bit odd, but I take it as a compliment anyway “Thank you!, you see, working in this hotel is no easy job, but it’s very rewarding” I say in a peaceful voice, but he looks more interested in the VIPs, of course I understand, it’s not like you always are close to the rich and famous, so while I continue cleaning, the new one keeps asking me about how they are, if it’s true that the CEO is living in the hotel, if it’s really Ota Kisaki who is staying here, etc. I remain careful to not tell anything dangerous though, those guys trust me, even if I don’t know why, but I want to keep it that way.  We start walking through the hallway and I try to think an excuse to drove him away when the pager does that for me “Sorry, I gotta go” I say just as I feel the vibration in my pocket  “Oh… sure I mean… let’s talk more later” that’s the last thing I hear him saying
I arrive at the lounge a bit before the 5 min rule ends “What’s up?” I ask casually, with all the things that had happened, I don’t see them only as my bosses or ‘owners’, but as friends. “Coffee” Eisuke answers with his usual expression, I roll my eyes but smile inwardly, I am used to it. I make a cup for everybody and put them on the table in front of the bidders, I stand next to them.  “Anything else I can do for you?” I smile, for some reason, I’m really relaxed and happy “Did something happened today Yuuki? You are oddly cheerful this morning” Baba says with his usual gentlemanly tone.  “Yeah, did someone declared to you or something?” Ota asks teasingly  “O-of course not! I- I was just remembering all the time we’ve spent together, that’s all” I explain, my face feels warm, which is really embarrassing… But, I really wouldn’t mind if he did declare to me, to be honest; Even though I like all the bidders the same there’s one that makes my heart beat fast, yet my love is purely platonic, with zero probabilities that he would take me seriously. I try to stay away from depressing thoughts by asking them again after making sure all of them have coffee in their cups “Anything else you need?”  “You’ll accompany us to the auction tonight, be sure to wear something appropriate if you don’t have any we can buy you something” king Eisuke says while looking at some documents  “Understood” I answer with a smile and finally get out, I doubt that my heart would be able to resist any more time with him there; I let a sigh of unrequited love and get back to work with the satisfaction of being able to see him at least once in the day, I make a mental note to look out for a beautiful outfit for the night.
Through the lace that’s covering her eyes, the girl sees a light, interrupting the darkness as well as any form of thought  “So she is the special one huh?” a deep and creepy voice sounds close   “We are certain that she is their protected, we think that the clients are going to be pleased with the product and with her origins” another deep voice answers ’who are they?’ ’What are they going to do with me’ ’how can I escape’ are the only things that fill her mind
While she is busy trying to listen and feel anything that can mean her to escape, the two other men walk aside to discuss the types of clients, the starting bidding and most important… how are they going to get her out of the Three Spades Hotel before the auctioneers know who’s the person being sold “We must do it quickly, she has to be the very first item to be auctioned, because, if I know them, and I am certain that I do, they won’t compromise the entire mad hatter’s party just for a tiny guess” The older man said very confident “Also I need two or three of your men to act as eyes, and if the case presents, as a distraction inside the hotel” “Alright… what about the Ice Dragons?” “They already checked and interviewed our double, they won’t realize until is too late, but if you aren’t sure enough, the double will be in the buyer car at the checkout point, then we will be waiting for three blocks ahead to make the exchange, we will take her out in the trunk” The younger man was about to make a comment when they heard a commotion behind them, the girl was a troublemaker  “Tie her tighter” the young boss says, his men do as they are told and she can’t move anymore because it only makes the ropes cut more into her wrists and ankles, which is very painful. The other businessman comes closer, looks at her struggling and smile, it’s a twisted and lustful smile “A fighter one huh? those are exactly my type, shame that I have to give her away… the virgins are the ones they pay for the most” “Take her away and prepare her, she has to look like the double” the men obey; after they are gone, the boss looks over at the older man with curiosity “You are taking a hell of a lot of risks here, why don’t just kidnap and sell her in the other black market auction directly?” “It wouldn’t be nearly as fun as to see their distressed and frustrated faces when they realize that she was in the auction and they could’ve saved her, but they didn’t” “You really want to get revenge on them, don’t you?” “Oh... The revenge part is only to take away their protected one and to make her suffer while I make a lot of money, this? this is just personal fun” The man says while his twisted smile grows wider.

Request: Sick w/ Eisuke Ichinomiya
anonymous asked:
i have a request, can you write about eisuke having an affair behind mc's back but little did he know mc knew it all along. Mc didn't leave or confront him because she wants to keep her promise that eisuke makes her which is to never leave his side. But everything changes when mc was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Mc left him without telling the true reason why she left. Eisuke regretting his actions try searching for mc but maybe a little too late?? ( the stick around fic was hella good!)
-----------
Ahhh I made a fairly long fic again. It seems that I am incapable of making short ones lol. I hope you enjoy this and I apologize if it isn’t what you had in mind! Btw, there isn’t any proper dialogue until the very end as I wanted to focus on building up to it.
-------------------------------------------------
Is there any right way to tell someone that you’re dying? You can recite it, make drafts, practice in the mirror, and it still is something neither is ready to hear.
In your youth, you’ve envisioned a million ways your life could go. Tucked in the arms of a man that loves you in a white dress, moving into a beautiful house that you’ll spend months decorating to make it feel like home, having a darling child or two, and then spoiling your own grandchildren. That was the plan-not this.
You stood bare in front of the bathroom mirror, burning the image into your mind of the nasty purple splotches peppering your arms, the thinning limp hair, and the gaunt hollows of your cheeks.
It had been weeks since you found out the technical terms of what was wrong with you. The fact that a few syllables stringed together could ruin you made you bitter. Perhaps a reason why you were especially vulnerable to the negative thoughts running through was because of a certain someone.
Lately, you were ensnared in a continuous battle of what hurt more-the sickness or the lies. As cliche as it was, one was tearing at your body and the other your actual soul. You almost felt that knowing the truth crippled you the worst. It made you passive and proved how willing you were to look the other way because of the hold he had on you.
No, it wasn’t his money or power that kept you trailing behind him. It was worse-you stuck around because you loved him with every fiber of your being. Through the disappointments, the arguments that strained both your throats raw, the dates long-forgotten, and the supposed business calls- you were stuck in a love he considered routine.
Regardless of whether it was his personality or his social class, he was the one calling the shots and jerking your feelings around. Knowing that you were the one that let him take advantage of you furthered how repulsed you were at the sight staring back in the mirror. Yes, the form in its bruised flesh and skeletal-figure horrified you, but you hated the person more for allowing this to continue for so long.
It took you a while to piece it together. The first incident that caught your eye was the night of your fifth anniversary. You scrambled to finish your shift early, then spent hours fixing your appearance and nicked the price tag of a new dress that strained your budget.
That entire week, your colleagues and friends teased you on how giddy you were. Years into the relationship and you still felt your heart flutter for the man.
You found yourself an hour early in the penthouse and eagerly waiting for your partner to arrive. The restaurant was Michelin worthy and kept a stunning view of the city below. It was a place you had long raved about and that he had secretly made note of in that emotionally awkward way of his.
Before you knew it, three hours has passed and you had already blowed his phone up with texts to no avail. You were a combination of concerned and furious, but knowing his background, you felt with your luck that maybe he had been kidnapped.
Burning holes in the tiling, you had been found by the other bidders that seemed especially disturbed that you were still in the penthouse sans hotel magnate partner on the evening of your anniversary .
You brushed them off and made an excuse of how you understood he was a busy man, but felt odd on how Soryu seemed to avoid your stare. From his nervous tic of painfully rubbing the back of his neck to his downcast eyes, something was surely eating at him. Had you not been so disappointed with the night’s turn of events, you would have approached him. If you had, maybe things would have turned out better.
Nearly one in the morning with you curled up on a love-seat and half-asleep did your date finally arrive. You were too exhausted and emotionally-drained to respond when he gently picked you up. Cradling you in his arms, he carried you to your shared bedroom.
You recall him softly apologizing and then making up for his absence by spending the remainder of the night entangled in another’s arms. Nothing else was strange except for the faint scent of lavender you remembered. From then on, you would smell lavender every few weeks until a hatred of the plant festered in you.
The instance that shook your world was when you woke up in the middle of the night with murmuring faint in the other room. You crept past and felt your heart drop to your stomach when you heard his familiar baritone utter lewd phrases meant for another.
There had to be some mistake. It was a bad dream. Perhaps, he just needed to sweet-talk someone for another shady deal.
You had been together for years through thick and thin from attempted assassinations to blackmail and petty arguments. Promises to stay together for the long run and countless actions proving your trust in another-no, this could not be happening.
The next morning, you kissed him on the lips as you usually did and carried on with your life. It was the cowardice and desperation inside that prevented you from confronting him and risk the life you had made together.
You knew it was unhealthy and violated every one of your values to think that maybe if you kept your mouth shut, if you continued to play the role of the perfect girlfriend that he would marry you. The two of you could still be happy together and that he would soon tire of the other woman.
Now as you stare in the mirror and dissect every freckle and insecurity you have harbored for the past year, you know you can’t go on.
The young girl with an honesty like no other still exists in you, dying shell and all. With that, you make the decision to disappear. You feel bittersweet when it’s Soryu that helps you get away.
-----------------------------------------------------
Sitting on a lone park bench, you don’t react when he comes to sit beside you. You keep your eyes forward with your thin lips pressed in a tight line and wait.
“...” The silence drags on for several moments as the chill of autumn breezes past. With a slight childhood-like innocence, you note that you can see your breath.
He shifts and leans forward to rest his elbows on his knees before burying his face in his hands. The way he holds himself is so different from the Eisuke Ichinomiya the public knows. There is no confidence and the way his shoulders are hunched over makes him seem smaller. His designer and neatly pressed purple dress-shirt and suit is replaced with a quiet black sweater.
For how well you are holding up, you nearly flinch when you hear him speak after going without the sound for months. “...It wasn’t easy...finding you. I was surprised.”
Rather than wasting your breath to entertain his version of small-talk, you keep silent and focus on a grand tree with reddening branches. It would be lovely to paint it.
“I thought I knew you better than anyone else,” He slowly rose and cocked his head to catch your eye.
The piercing and calculating sepia was vacant, and now seemed more exhausted than anything. His features were always finely chiseled, but the hollows of his cheeks seemed sickly. In your mind, you laughed bitterly at how you were supposed to be the dying one yet his haggard appearance challenged yours.
With a rather heavy exhale, he continued, “I once thought I could see right through you and read everything about you. I was wrong.” His tone was low and each word carried its individual weight.
You used whatever remaining strength and furled your thin digits into fists, trying to fight back the trembles as your throat tightened.
“I could do anything, say anything, and know that you would still be there. I could hurt you-I did hurt you, and you stayed.” The brunette male pursed his lips and glanced away with a pained expression.
You finally gathered the bits of resentment and hurt that festered in you to air it out. “I...I really believed in you. I convinced myself that if I stuck it out that...You would forget the other woman and that we would be okay. We could just continue on, we would get married, and we would be fine.” Mustering the nerve, you properly jutted your shoulders to face him head-on and stunned him with the severity of your eyes.
“Do you know how twisted that is-to think like that? I was so in love with you that I made myself sick,” you spat out the words with such venom that he nearly reeled back.
Forcing a bitter laugh out, you gritted your teeth, “Now look at me! I really am sick.” Mockingly, you gestured to your frame and picked at the sweaters that swallowed your thin frame whole.
He remained still, finally getting a proper glimpse into your perspective after all this time. Chest raising heavily, your ex-lover tried, “I can get you help. There’s a hospital in-”
“Stop. If I really wanted, don’t you think I could have asked Soryu or any of the others?” You sent him a bitter smile, your eyes twinkling humorlessly. Oh, how the tables have turned. You were like a stonewall with cool features while he was fumbling around.
“(Y/N), you don’t want to die. You’re not throwing your life away because of something shitty I did. I can help-” The words died in his mouth when you raised your hand to signal that he stop again.
“I’m not throwing my life away. I just want to do things at my own pace now.” This time, your smile was much less cruel as you considered what that meant to you. You pulled at the collar of your woolen coat, noting how stiff your fingers felt from the frigid air.
The fury and passion that was the Tres Spades King seemed to ignite as he straightened in his seat to bark out, “At your own pace? You can’t think like that and take your damned time!! This isn’t a game-you are dying!!”
You shook your head, almost feeling oddly comforted to see him in his usual raging spirits. “You’re not listening. I spent years living at your pace, trailing after you, doing what you want. Now I want to live as I like.”
The words seemed to finally hit him and you decided to provide that extra security for him. “I’m actually getting better. It doesn’t seem like it now, but I feel it.”
Several long moments passed as your own (e/c) gazed into his, trying to convey every frustrated and hopeful emotion that was surging through you.
This was your life now.
It wouldn’t have the white dress, the giddy laughter of children running through a home that you’ve built, or the adoring spouse. Your plans had changed and your priorities altered to fit this reality. It would be one likely without Eisuke Ichinomiya and that knowledge made your heart crumble once more as you forced a smile towards him.
Being with him had been painful.
Learning to be without him as you healed would be painful.
The realization that you could no longer smell lavender on him was painful.
This was your life now.

Hello there! Can you write an angst fic for soryu and mc getting into an accident. The accident almost killed mc but survived. While soryu was more lucky having small injuries. I'm really am an angst freak
Why oh why must you all do this to me! *Sigh* At least she survives, if you said either of them died I would have said no… to close though lol. So here yo go an angsty for Soryu, the poor baby mobster doesn’t deserve this. This is obviously from Soryu’s POV.
It was during a slow time for the Ice dragons so I picked up _____ for a surprise lunch for her lunch break. We were just heading back and she is talking and smiling while I nod and smile along. It was a sort of busy time a bit of traffic but nothing to bad. We were just going through an intersection on a green and before I notice I glance over to my fiancé and see a car barreling through the red light headed straight for us. Before I could try to protect her our car got it and sent screeching across the intersection, luckily not hitting any other cars.
I must have blacked out because when I come to I am sore and scratched but I hurriedly look over to her. Only to see her bloody her head loose and against her shoulder her arm looking broken and head most likely hit badly. I quickly get out of the car and run over to her side of the car ignoring my pain and try to wrench open the destroyed car door. “______ ______, wake up!” She doesn’t budge and I get shoved away just noticing the paramedics, cops, and fire fighters for the first time. “You got to help her, she is hurt!” My usual composure no where to be seen.
I feel a hand on my arm and I glare looking over seeing Mamarou “Chill Oh, they are getting her,” I growl “You help then!” He shakes his head and pushes me or at least tries to take me to the paramedics. “Relax, get seen to, she’ll be out shortly. Usually would take your statement but it’s to much of a pain. Got enough witnesses anyways. Don’t need you around to long or you might be seen as threatening the witnesses,” I shake him off “Not going anywhere until ______ is out safe,” He sighs and scratches behind his neck as she is finally put into a stretcher to an ambulance and I quickly follow after her. “Get seen to too” I barely hear the slacker detective as I get in and the doors close behind us.
What seems like hours later which I knew was only probably minutes we finally arrive at the hospital me holding her hand all the while. Not letting anyone touch me to worried about my pale fiancé then to worry about me. I get pushed aside as she is taken to surgery apparently being worse off then I thought. I pace the waiting room calling all the dragons to get the information on what happened not realizing how bad I looked with my and her blood on me far from calm. I didn’t even realize that the others were there sans Mamarou and Luke for obvious reasons. I feel a hand on my arm and glare looking over seeing Eisuke and the others. I hang up the phone and growl “What do you want? I don’t have anytime for your nonsense,” I go to reach for my gun but find where it usually is empty and groan thinking must be somewhere in the car.
“We heard about the princess” Baba just says Ota nodding besides him, “How is Koro?” I just through up my hands “How should I know but from what I can tell bad,” Eisuke nods and lead me to a seat to sit down while I am to distraught to do the usual threatening to weak to do much but worry. “That’s what Luke is busy helping with,” Shuichi nods “Usually have to do all sort of paperwork but eisuke bribed him in.” The detective walks in and shakes his head “Didn’t I say to get yourself checked too?” I sigh “Don’t care waiting to here about _____”
He shrugs and discreetly hands me my gun. “Had to sneak it away, be careful next time,” he says and I just weakly take it putting it away. “So what happened?” He shakes his head “Can’t say,” I get up and grab his tie yanking it up “Can’t say or won’t say?” I growl angrily wanting to know what happened. He easily pushes my hand away and doesn’t even fix his tie. “Well all I can say is if I did say, the kid would be angry if you did something to land you in jail. Not going to have that sobbing kid on my conscience,” I groan and sit back down knowing he was right.
After an hour or two, what felt actually more like years, Luke finally comes out. “Sexy bones has broken arm, fractured leg all on the one side plus concussion and internal bleeding,” I pale glad I was sitting down or else could have sworn I would have fallen. “But she is out of the woods right?” Eisuke see me pale and asks for me, Luke just nods “She’ll be in a coma for awhile though, don’t know for how long.” I just nod and meanwhile baba takes my arms and push me towards Luke “Good, now check up on him or else something might happen to him. He just quickly looks me over and shrugs “Scratches and bruises, maybe very minor concussion, nothing serious” After awhile I just zone everything out not bother listening to them any longer to worried about my love.
-2 weeks later-
I am at her bedside yet again sitting and reading her another one of my favorite detective books to her. The room filled with flowers and get well soon cards from all the bidders and from many of the dragons. I myself have been coming over as soon as I had time, the first few days never left her side. I finally got pushed out to take care of myself and do quick things for the dragons. Though without her around nothing seemed very important. I guess I let myself go bit, barely eating and not as put together as usual. All I can do is laugh at myself for letting it effect me so badly. Thinking that I would have never thought anyone would be so important to me as her before I met her.
I wanted to kill the man that made this happen to her. Apparently it was a drunk driver, someone who shouldn’t have been driving in the first place. When I learned of it the bidders could barely contain me. But the thought of her being sad I killed someone because of her and being sent to jail was the only thing that stopped me. Though apparently didn’t have to do anything because once the driver sobered up and heard he put a Mobster’s Boss fiancé into a coma, he was apparently quick to accept a deal to be put in jail. Apparently wasn’t the first time he had a drunk driving accident happen, though first time put someone in a coma.
I sigh and close the book and take her hand. “Please _____ wake up, I can barely eat without thinking of your omelets,” I put her hand to my forehead and close my eyes. I just sit there quietly keeping her hand to my forehead. I don’t know how long I stayed like that but I started to feel her fingers move and I look up quickly to her face. Her eyes slowly flutter open and look over smiling weakly “You look like hell,” she gently lifts her. hand and caresses my cheek. It’s all I could do from wrapping her up in a big hug but hold myself back not wanting to hurt her but I kiss her cheek. “You saying that to me while you are in the hospital?” She laughs weekly but the light in her eyes slowly return.
“So guessing an accident or something?” She asks and tries to sit up but I lay her back down gently. “Yes a drunk driver, you were badly hurt,” she shrugs and runs a hand through my hair “What about you?” I smile “I’m fine, you always worry about me, how about worrying about you?” She laughs softly and I finally smile and she quickly brushes away the tears I must have shed. “I’m awake, sore but awake. I’m sorry I must have worried you,” I just nod and hold her hand to my cheek “Just never worry me like that again,” She just laughs and I finally relax knowing she will be ok.
Gah, this was longer then I thought it would turn out. I swear I almost started crying myself lol. I hope this is what you wanted!

Cheating - Soryu (Chapter. 9)
So, with this story coming to an end, I will suggest two endings: one where the mc gets back with Soryu, or one where she independently is by herself :)
If no one responds, I'll do a random draw and see what happens from there!
Have fun reading, feedback is always helpful! (*´꒳`*)
1 2 3...50...87..Time had started to tick away as Soryu’s lip were shut to my question. His eyes still peeled away from any part of my body as he looked down at his hand which held Lily’s. He finally lifted his head up and stared at me, his eyes still tainted with the same hatred as it was minutes ago.
“Yes. If I knew you would become something like this, I wish we never met.” His words danced around in my ears, making me grip my leggings harder. Soon, there was a flash of a coat that barely made to my eyes, and a sudden grunting of Soryu that made my head slip up. Eisuke had twisted his fury and anger into Soryu’s gut and he squatted on his knees, gasping for air.
“‘If I knew you would become something like this’? How far have you fallen, prick? You always say you never lie. Hah. Never lie my ass. You know damn well as I do Yuki had no ill intentions when she was asking Lily. You're just blinded by something you call love.”
“And what do you know about love?” Soryu gasped every ounce of air in his lungs to make out a few words.
“Obviously more than you.”
“You're much colder than me. I wouldn't be talking here, Eisuke. When all this dies down, you'll treat her like the maid you always do. What? Do you love her?” Bickering went on between them, nothing in the friendly. My eyes shifted to Lily who had suddenly vanished. But, her golden hair was slipped behind a building as she made her way into an alleyway. Where is she going? My thoughts raced into the possibilities of her destination in a time like this. I couldn't leave Eisuke and Soryu arguing, but I needed to sneak out of the grasp and follow her. Taking my heels off to muffle the sound of my steps, I quickly tip toed my way in her direction, trying to be unnoticeable as possible. As I carefully trotted down an alley way, a bullet had just passed my face.
“I told you to kill the girl. And you just kept taunting her.” The woman’s voice that was once there before at the cellar had now come back.
“M-Mistress, I-”
“Shut up you fool.” From afar, the shadow of her figure seemed to have dug her heel into the man, making him wriggle in pain and terror.
“My lady! Please forgive me-”
“Didn't I say to shut up!?” Another gunshot terrorized my ears, making me wince and cry out in surprise.
“Who's there?!” Her head whipped around and her steps became louder as they came near me. I had to go. I had to go fast. I sprinted my way down the way I took, feeling the rocks and pavement scrap my feet and bruise them as I ran faster.
“You won't be getting away!” Gunshots rung in my ear, and suddenly I tripped on my own leg which had a crucial pain throbbing up and down and blood seeping through.
“I knew it.” She chuckled, smirking a smile I had seen too many times. When she stepped into the light, her face was clearly lighted.
“Y-You!” My voice hoarsely rang out as my eyes furiously glared at the girl in front of me. She crouched down, lifting my head with her gun and smiled.
“I didn't know Soryu’s old chew toy still had a squeak to her.” She snickered, the laugh menacing and cold to the bone.
“Lily, why are you doing this? Who do you want to kil-”
“You.”
“..What…” My eyes started to shrink in fear and the sudden cars passing by were quiet to me.
“I need to kill you in order for Soryu to be mine.” She stared down at me, her eyes tinting and glowing in the dark night.
“And if I need to kill you myself, I'll do it.”

When Demons Prevail - Soryu Oh
Warning: Implied character death(s), Angst (but with a happy ending)
Tumblr media
Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Your time is running out, Soryu Oh.You just have one day left.
Soryu scrunched up the note angrily, his frustration getting the best of him. It had been three weeks since Samejima had disappeared, and three weeks since Soryu had gotten proper sleep. These notes came in everyday, crippling his sanity little by little, everyday, that is, if he had already not broken down completely by now.
It had been three years since Soryu had been made the leader of Ice Dragons, and needless to say, he had fulfilled his role dutifully. It was moments like these, moments where someone else got hurt because of him, where someone else’s  life was being played with because of his position, that he truly wished to escape this life, even if for a day.
Even today, if he closed his eyes for a moment, he saw flashbacks of that one incident that made him shudder every single time. It had been two weeks since the incident had taken place, but it still made his eyes burn with un-shed tears, whenever he thought of it.
He remembered that one day two weeks ago, when Ota and Baba were supposed to come back from their trip to Las Vegas. He had just gotten up from the breakfast table, munching on a toast, when he got the call from Eisuke, asking him to hurry up towards the harbor. Eisuke’s voice had cracked, indicating the seriousness of the situation.
Just as he was about to open the door of his car, a note on the windshield had caught his attention.
Surprise, surprise, Mr. Oh.
Thinking of the note as an empty threat to scare him, just like what he thought of the previous ones, he crumpled it up, motoring his vehicle to life, starting towards the harbor.
Little did he know, the notes weren’t an empty threat.
That day, he had felt so broken for the first time.
He still remembered it, the way Ota and Baba’s bodies were floating on the ocean, lifeless. One shake of head from Eisuke was all it took for him to know that this wasn’t a prank, that it was indeed Ota and Baba, his friends, the ones he had spent the last decade bantering with, laying there without an ounce of life in them. He had shaken their bodies, wanting for them to wake up, tell him it was a prank, laugh at him for being so gullible. He wanted to hear Baba give one of his overly-sexual suggestions, or Ota be the brat he was.
But alas, they didn’t open their eyes. That was when Soryu realised that they had closed their eyes once to never open them again.
Eisuke had asked his staff to leave him and Soryu alone with the bodies, and the moment the staff had left, he had seen Soryu shed a tear for the first time in all the years he had known him.
Eisuke had walked over, and rubbed his shoulders in sympathy as Soryu remained crouching, not believing the fact that this was the last time he might see the two so-called “banes” of his life, that after this, there’d be no sexual references to anything and everything he and Eisuke uttered, there’d be no fun and games, no talks of wanting to inspire people through one’s art, no debates on whether he was really straight or was he asexual. There’d be no life in the penthouse, for the two lifelines responsible for carrying out that work were lying right there, in front of his eyes, with their bodies as cold as ice.
That was when he knew the notes weren’t just empty threats.
That day, he had told Eisuke everything about the notes he had been receiving, while Eisuke already knew about Samejima’s kidnapping. They had decided not to call Mamoru yet, for he was in his hometown, spending some quality time with his family. Mamoru had seen his fair share of bad times, and they didn’t want to taint one of his happy memories with dark ones.
Eisuke had promised to do everything in his power to find out who was behind this, his eyes red, indicating how affected he was by the death of two of the five people that mattered to him the most, as of that day. He was barely holding himself together, but he had promised Soryu to see this through with him.
A knock on the door to his office cabin shook him out of his reverie, as Inui entered, his face crestfallen.”No clue, sir. We have no idea where the notes have been coming from, or who was responsible for Mr. Kisaki and Mr. Baba’s deaths,” He said, his eyes nearly watering from uttering Ota and Baba’s names.
Soryu nodded his head, acknowledging the piece of negative news Inui had given him, and turning his gaze back to his laptop, he lifelessly started typing away at his keyboard, not noticing the way Inui’s brows furrowed in concern, yet again.
Ever since that incident at the harbor, Inui had noticed a change in his boss. Soryu had stopped talking to his mob members, he had stopped asking them how were they doing, he had stopped eating, sleeping, he had stopped living life. He didn’t talk unless absolutely necessary, and stayed cooped up in his cabin, looking at the pieces of evidence he had on his hands, trying to figure out how to find the mastermind behind all of this, and it concerned Inui. He knew the death of two of his close companions had had its effect on Soryu, but he was still worried. Shaking his head at the inability to do anything to change the situation, Inui had just walked out of Soryu’s cabin when Taichi, another mob member had stopped him in his tracks.
“Inui, can you give this to Soryu? It was at the door, with ‘To be opened by Soryu Oh only’ written on it.”
Inui hurriedly grabbed the small envelope, once again knocking on his boss’ cabin. Once he got the green light to enter, he opened the door, immediately handing Soryu the envelope.
Opening the envelope, Soryu’s eyes widened as he saw something he was not prepared for.
If you want Samejima, come to the XXX Warehouse at 6 in the evening. Be late, and you might want to bring a bouquet to give to your subordinate’s dead body. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Your time is ticking, Mr. Oh.
Soryu got up faster than the speed of light, calling Eisuke as he left the Ice Dragons HQ, already entering his car. Looking at the time, he saw it to be 4:57 P.M. He cursed under his breath, for it would approximately take him 45 minutes to drive to the location, considering there was no traffic on the road. Connecting his phone to the Bluetooth speaker of his car, he waited for Eisuke to pick up as he stepped on the gas, already on his way towards the destination on the note.
“What is it?” Came Eisuke’s voice through the speakers, and Soryu quickly gave him a rundown of events, not wasting any time on pleasantries.”I am coming with you too, Soryu,” Eisuke spoke, after hearing about the progress of things from Soryu. At the latter’s opposition, he clicked his tongue, “Soryu, you don’t get to order me around. If I say I am coming with you, I am coming with you. That’s it.”
“No, Eisuke. What if something happens at the hotel? I need someone with a calm head to be there, making sure everything is okay. Anyways, I have already informed Inui, he is coming with the other Ice Dragons. Okay, take care, I’m hanging up.”
Eisuke scowled when he heard the line going dead, and as much as his instinct was telling him to go after Soryu, he chose to stay behind, knowing that Soryu was indeed correct. He needed to be at the hotel to make sure nothing went awry.
On the other hand, Soryu kept looking at the time, internally cursing the traffic he was met with. As soon as the traffic cleared, he sped up the vehicle, cursing his luck for having wasted 15 minutes. It was 5:30 P.M. now, and he had to make it in the next 30 minutes or else... he didn’t wish to even think of the consequences.
As soon as he reached the location, he went inside the warehouse, only to find it empty, except the single piece of paper that was lying there.
You’re late, Soryu. Whatever happens now is your fault, for it was you who didn’t reach in time.
He immediately looked at his wrist watch, only to see that the time was indeed 6:02 P.M. He was two minutes late. Looking around, he found nothing; no trace of life whatsoever. Turning around, he picked up his phone, trying to dial Eisuke to make sure everything stayed okay back at the hotel.
His heart beat sped up when Eisuke didn’t pick up for the fourth time. Maybe he is looking after the security of the hotel, Soryu thought, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in his gut, telling him something was wrong. He turned the vehicle onto the road leading to the Ice Dragon HQ, not being prepared for the sight that was about to hit him.
As soon as he entered, he was met by an eerie calm. Looking around, he didn’t see a soul. The sinking feeling in his gut only got stronger as he neared his cabin, remembering Eisuke’s text. While he was on his way back, Eisuke had texted him that he’d meet Soryu at the Ice Dragons HQ, for he had some news to share.
What Soryu saw in front of the door to his cabin made him feel as if the ground beneath his feet had given out, his eyes widening at the two lifeless bodies slumped together in front of him; Inui and Samejima.
Although he couldn’t believe what was happening, and he didn’t know what to do now, something in him told him to keep it together. Choosing to listen to that internal voice, Soryu’s trembling hands moved the two cold bodies away from the door to his cabin, and he fearfully opened the door, holding on to that silent thread of hope that he’d find Eisuke in there, waiting for him, helping ground him and telling him to keep it together.
Alas, he did find Eisuke. But just not how he expected to.
The shock of what Soryu saw made his legs give out, and he fell on the floor in a heap of bewildered mess. Gathering whatever energy he had left in his body, he slowly crawled towards the human lying there on the floor, right in front of his table.
Reaching the said body, he touched it’s face, not wanting to believe that it was him, even though his clothes gave him away. He touched the ice cold face, turning it over to see the one man who had been by him when he didn’t know what to do, the one man who had promised to see things through with him.
Soryu barely chocked on a sob at the face of his best friend, Eisuke, lying there in a pool of his own blood. He did nothing to stop the tears that now streamed down his face, he was too tired to keep it together now. He was too broken to care.
His fingers moved over Eisuke’s face, refusing to believe it was him. He remembered Eisuke’s words of wanting to come with him. He laughed self-deprecatingly, blaming himself for not taking his best friend with him. At least he had the chance of securing Eisuke’s life, and he had lost it too.
Soryu sat there, with tears streaming down his face, for over an hour, with Eisuke’s stiff face in his lap, his eyes sorting through the memories they had made together in the short time they had, his eyes shedding new tears at every new expression of Eisuke that surfaced in his mind, his fingers clenching on Eisuke’s clothes every time he remembered his cockiness, his smirk, his micromanaging everyone.
Needles to say, that was the day Soryu not only felt, but also heard himself shatter.
He couldn’t help but think about how there would be no Eisuke who would irritate him, promise to be by his side, be the protective older brother, the cocky younger one. His shoulders shook when he thought about how he wouldn’t be able to tease Eisuke about his sweet tooth anymore.
Soryu looked up at the ceiling as his tears refused to stop, silently saluting Eisuke for being the diamond among the countless stones in his life.
He was just about to get up to wash his face and call Kenzaki to set dates for the last rites when he noticed a letter clenched in his best friend’s hand. With shaking fingers, he took it out, opening it and silently reading what was written.
Soryu,
I don’t know who this person is, but I do know that I don’t have enough time. I might not be able to say this to you face-to-face, but this time even I won’t be able to stop the worse from happening. I have already signed the papers giving away all my resources to you, so use them wisely.
Since we might not even get to see each other in time, treat this letter as my last message to you.
In whatever the years we had with each other, thank you for being the rock of my life. I know, this sappy stuff sounds unusual coming from me, but you need to hear, or read, this.
You can’t give up now, Soryu. Stay strong, for you know, I don’t keep losers as my friends. Keep it together, Soryu. Remember, I believe in you. Don’t let me down.
Until we meet again,
Farewell.

Soryu woke up with a start, tangled in bed sheets with cold sweat dripping down his forehead and back. Looking around, all he saw was the darkness of his room. Turning to see the time, he noticed it to be 2:37 A.M.
He ran his fingers through his hair, not knowing what to believe anymore. Had Eisuke, Ota, Baba, Inui and Samejima really died, or was it all just a nightmare?
He didn’t know what to do, so he did the first thing his instinct told him. Getting up, without a care about how bad he looked, he rushed out of his suite and stepped onto the elevator, pressing the button that would take him to Eisuke’s personal suite.
The ride in the elevator seemed like that of an eternity, but as soon as the doors opened, he scrambled out, knocking on the door of Eisuke’s suite repeatedly.
“What the fuck is it at two in the morning, Soryu?” Eisuke asked, not prepared for the tall mobster to gather him in a tight embrace. Before he could ask what in the world was happening, he felt the man’s shoulder’s tremble, and that was when he noticed Soryu’s sweat stained shirt, his tired but red eyes, his one silent tear of relief that had shed out.
Calling Soryu inside and having him sit down, he waited for Soryu to calm his trembling down before he asked Soryu what had gone wrong.
As soon as Soryu finished telling him about his nightmare, Eisuke burst out laughing, his signature smirk soon taking over his features, “Heh, that’s interesting. You think you can get rid of me that easily, do you? Nice daydream you have going on there.”
Soryu looked at him, exasperated at his sense of humor, when he noticed the sound of someone knocking at the door. Eisuke sat back on the couch with a scoff, motioning with his chin for Soryu to go and open the door. Soryu, although confused, did get up from his place on the couch, walking towards the door.
Soryu didn’t have the time to register what was happening when bodies crashed into him in a hug from both sides. Looking up to see Ota and Baba being the jerks practically crushing his bones, he pushed them off of him hurriedly, looking for him gun, only to remember he had forgotten it at home in his hurry while coming to the Penthouse.
“Aww Soryu, we knew you loved us!” Baba stated, laughing as he got up from the floor after Soryu had pushed him. “Unfortunately for you, even though I am 35 and single, I am ready to mingle with only ladies, so I can’t kiss your sadness away.”
“Stop it, Baba. You sound creepy as fuck,” Ota retorted, smirking at the fake hurt expression Baba made, trying to gain his sympathy.
Mamoru, on the other hand, was already dozing away in one corner of the room, not the slightest bit bothered by the ruckus the others were creating.
This time, instead of hitting them on their heads to knock some sense into them, Soryu chose to let it slip just once. While Ota and Baba were busy bantering away and Eisuke was too focused to try to get them to shut up, they all failed to notice the small smile that crept its way onto the mobsters face, glad to see his family alive and well, being the weirdos they always had been.
