The bidders at my cookie shop
(i work at a cookie shop soooo😋)
Eisuke
he normally wouldn’t stand in line at a little cookie shop in the mall for a sub pare chocolate chip cookie but the cashier caught his eye (mc obv)
he is one of the only customers who doesn’t complain about the high prices bc he big balling
he first just wanted a chocolate chip cookie maybe a coffee too
but mc persuaded him to do the daily deal of buy 6 get one free
(an obv scam but she can bat her eyes at anyone and make them spend every penny there)
and Eisuke wasn’t any different, he actually bought one of everything
which had mc’s mouth on the floor
(she was honestly pissy bc there was a line forming behind him)
he would overly compliment mc which would have her rolling her eyes
she would try to walk to the back when she saw him coming but he would wait for her to come back up for his order to be taken
after times and times of trying to give her his number she finally takes it
eisuke’s fave cookies: koko creme + the chocolate chip
and ofc he loves mc’s coffee, literally creams for it
Baba
he would be a usual there
he also works in the mall
he works in the little magick shop all the way on the other side of the mall
but the walk is worth it to see the cute cookie shop cashier
(and he doesn’t mind walking, he got those long legs for a reason)
he knows mc by name and ALWAYS asks how mc is before ordering his cookies
he is very charming and subtly flirts to make sure she isn’t uncomfortable
he would always get a red velvet and a cheesecake brownie
(mc literally knows his order by heart he gets the same thing every time, bless his soul)
he usually asks when her break is and if she wants to head down to the food court during it
(she always says yes)
he always tries to pay for mc’s food (and he usually does if mc isn’t looking)
if mc is closing he walks the long way out the mall so he can say goodnight to her
Soryu
man isn’t a cookie person but inui dragged him here
he isn’t even a mall person but once again inui heard about the puppies in the mall and had to go, little did they know a quaint little cookie shop was by it
ofc they stopped when inui saw the spiderman cookie, which he had to get
Soryu ended up getting something like a double fudge brownie or a smores bar
he hits it off well with mc surprisingly, since he wasn’t much into small talk she did to mind taking his order
(other than his deathly stare that sorta scared her)
he really enjoyed the brownies and actually came back without inui
which had mc on edge since soryu didn’t have his little puppy dog beside him
he actually came later in the day so mc gave him some free chocolate chip which weirdly had him blushing
he devoured them, when inui tried to touch them he whipped out his gun
every time he goes back there he gets softer and softer for her
and develops an addiction to the double fudge brownies
Ota
he has a little art kiosk in the mall, he usually sells his art and sometimes draws people he see’s
his little kiosk was right by the cookie shop so he would stare all day at the cookie shop worker
he would watch her hair start to get messy and her take a breather after the long line of customers
he would draw her the most, her puppy dog eyes reminded him of his little dog koro
he would go up there everyday grabbing a yellow mellow and a large decorated cookie
he would usually pick the quirkiest one like the pumpkin with sunglasses
(even though its the middle of august)
and then two m&m cookies bc the splash of color reminds him of his water paintings
he would joke around with mc a lot
even across the mall from his kiosk
if mc had a loud customer he would look over at her with a concerned face
(he actually came up and put a guy in his place for yelling at her)
(he’s weirdly intimidating)
he put some drawings up of mc in his shop but she low-key never noticed
until he brought her one of his drawings of her
(she literally gave him like free cookies for a week bc of it)
Mamo
he isn’t a mall man it’s too much of a pain for him
but one day at the office some one brought in cookies and he was hooked ever since
he would go straight to the mall for the cookies every single day after work
he would usually get the monthly cookie, especially in august its his fave
the blueberry crumble✨
other than that he would get the peanut butter swirl or the sprinkles
he would die for the buttercream
he was usually grumpy so mc would draw little doodles on his coffee cup
(when she stopped he actually said something about it)
he would always try to request the ones straight out the oven, which mc caved multiple times and gave him piping hot ones
(which he burned himself on but played it off)
(now mc is super careful while handing him his cookies and even tosses a joke here and there about it)
he actually is the one that tips mc the best, like he always tips her every single time
(he tried to ask if they sold edibles before, mc was thinking about sneaking something special in her new batch)
Hikaru
he knows mc already and goes there everyday to make her life hell
(he obviously wants to eat her out)
he takes forever to order things even though mc always knows what he wants
but he continues to give her a hard time EVERYTIME
his order is always a watermelon cookie pizza and a peanut butter blossom with a dr pepper
but he likes the extra time he takes to talk to mc
he orders cookie cakes often and puts them under dumbass names like “ben dover” or “Anita dic”
mc once persuaded him to get the raspberry cream cookie and he was not in love with it
it was too “tart” for him
(which mc knew but wanted him to waste 5 dollars)
hikaru is one of those customers to bring up the price of the cookies everytime
“why is this shit 2.36 is there dope in it?”
“what dope are you smoking that is 2.36”
“not good shit”
in the end he is low-key obsessed w the cookies and HIGH-KEY obsessed with mc
Shuichi
after the plant shop he would always stop at the cookie place
usually as shu tho never shuichi
when she does see shuichi she thinks its so funny he has the same order as shu since there so different
chocolate chip pecan, a german chocolate brownie and a black coffee
shu always jokes with mc and usually flirts it up with her
(she really enjoys seeing shu he’s actually lowkey her favorite customer)
unlike shuichi which is her least fave, since how brass he is
he never acknowledges her as a person as shuichi but shu greets her very kindly everytime
every visit he takes, shu and shuichi slowly mold together
one day shuichi brings her a little succulent and thats when she puts two and two together
she gets really embarrassed and has a breakdown in the back
(but now she thinks he’s bipolar or has multiple personalities) (which is totally fine on a real note)
Rhion
very sweet boy and very soft spoken
mc can barely hear him over all the mall noise
his face is always red when he orders he can barely look at mc
but when he does look at mc, he stares
he works in the costume shop and sometimes wears masks to scare her if she doesnt see him coming
(she lowkey thinks he’s weird asf but he’s very kind and cute so she’s fine with him)
his order is a carrot cake cookie and a snicker doodle, he always gets stuff for his coworkers too bc he’s a sweetheart
he tries to give mc free costumes, really wanted her to be Alice for his mad hatter for the last three years in a row
she finally said yes
some days when he would come up to her in his mad hatter get up he would have more courage to talk to her
but she made sure he knew that he could talk to her either way and she would enjoy him
Luke
he would get the gluten free sprinkles
since this man on a PILL DIET LIKE BFFR
but eisuke brought him here and made him get a cookie and not only a coffee
so he went for the overly priced gluten free cookies
and stared at mc’s chest the whole time
he says its not creepy and he’s just admiring her bone structure
(which she still finds very creepy)
luke started to come on his own bc his new pill started being the gluten free sprinkle cookies
he would ask mc to be his model to study her bone structure (ngl she had her boss come out and serve him a couple of times bc she was a little uncomfy)
but one day he was actually the exact opposite, almost came in like he was lifeless which freaked her out a bit
(mf was malnourished asf)
mc literally hand fed him the cookies to make sure he ate
(mf was literally just buying cookies to let them stack up at his house)
MC
girl tries her best to love her job
her favorite thing to do is ice the cookies while she hates to restock
she is a closer who workers many hours and usually spends the whole day at the shop
she literally runs the place lets be for real
her favorite would be the underrated koko swirl and oatmeal rasin
she would take long breaks with baba in the food court bc she deserved it after working opening to closing
she lowkey hates when baba pays for her so everytime she goes to the magick shop she tips extra so it feels like she’s paying him back
she always doodles a cat on her cup when she gets a drink, its her little thing so everyone knows the cup is hers
she gets along the best with her coworkers and honestly gets the best tips
she does have like 9 men fiening over her
which i mean she never really minds bc it helps with the tips
ota and rhion always try to give her cookie designs, which she usually listens too bc their gods with their hands
one time she took mamo in the back of her shop and smoked weed with him
she pretends to hate eisuke but she legit thinks he’s the biggest man candy in the world

You and the bidders had been dating for quite a while, things had gone smoothly. Sure, there were ups and downs but that’s with any relationship. All and all, things were calm. Except… they weren’t. Not anymore. Despite how much you shamed yourself, you couldn’t stop eating sweets. You had to have a sweet with every meal. Considering you rarely ate sweets, always self conscious about gaining weight, everyone was taken aback. In fact, their looks were causing so much paranoia you stopped eating anywhere near them. Only eating sweets in your room now, they didn’t fail to notice your other new habits, such as sleeping and becoming stressed over everything. Lately, your work ethic has been terrible, constantly falling asleep. Even your boss couldn’t keep covering for you anymore, alerting Eisuke.
“Okay, I think we can all agree Y/n has been acting strange.” The others nod to Baba’s concern. “She’s been eating sweets everyday. I asked the Chef.” Soryu adds, causing Eisuke to chime in. “And she’s been avoiding us. What could be wrong?” They weren’t sure, and putting their heads together didn’t seem to come closer to finding answers. You were frightened by this new change as well. What could be wrong with you? “Maybe you’re pregnant?” Your friend says after listening thoughtfully to you worries, then laughs. Though, you weren’t laughing. “Pregnant?” You repeat, spacing out at the thought.
Immediately, you rush out of the cafe, leaving your friend behind. What if it’s true? It would explain the cravings. And emotions. And tiredness. And now, a new symptom to add. Throwing up when worried. What a nice cherry on top. Despite not wanting to believe it, you, reluctantly, go to a pharmacy. In disguise, wearing sunglasses, a hoodie, wig, and everything else to keep your identity undetected. Then you grab a test and ask to be rung up in a strained whisper. After discreetly exiting, you shove the box in your pocket before sprinting back to your apartment. You have been spending a lot of time there lately. With what’s been going on, staying away from them, as not to explode or do anything else embarrassing was a must.
Anxiously, you rip the box open then, after drinking plenty of water, go into the bathroom. Shaking the whole time, you nervously wait for the results. Two lines… your heart drops, and so does the pent up emotions inside you. Sobbing your eyes out, you fail to notice the knocking at your door. “Y/n? Are you in there? We want to talk.” Nothing, yet the door was locked. They had a bad feeling, after debating on whether your privacy was more important than safety, Baba agreed to pick the lock. Though, Soryu is impatient, deciding to break the door instead. “Y/n, are you here?” They hear a distressed cry suddenly come to a halt. “I- I’m fine-!” Your voice shakes, barely coherent, it was hard to hide. “Y/n, are you okay?” Ota asks, taking a seat next to where the sobs came from, the bathroom.
“Yes…” Your voice becomes quiet, sniffling any residue onto the tissue. “Can we talk?” Shaking your head, you remember they can’t see you and manage another reply. “I don’t want to.” You hear a small sigh, the voice getting close. “Y/n, we just want to know what’s wrong. We’re all worried about you.” At the moment, you were tied between embarrassment and wanting comfort. Was it worth them seeing you like this? A mess? About to side against it, something in you that yearns for their touch breaks loose. Without giving it a second thought, you open the door before you could change your mind. That sight was shocking to see, on their part. A teary eyed, broken down, head hung, nose running, messy hair partner, appearing miserable as she runs out to hug the first person her hands reach.
Rambling incoherently, you sob some more, this time into Soryu’s button down shirt. “We can’t understand you when you talk like that.” Going on, though everything is heard in more of a whine, he manages to make out a few words, however not enough to piece together what’s wrong. “Why don’t we take some deep breaths?” Baba suggests, his tone gentle and face softened. Facing towards him, you quickly turn away, shaking your head no. “Y/n, come on, I know you can do it. I’ll do it with you.” Without hesitation, he begins taking deep breaths and eventually you repeat after him. Steadying yourself, you’re finally able to say all at once, “You’re going to hate me! I’m going to have to raise our kid alone and I’m not going to have enough money to support us, then we’ll be sleeping in a box on the street, eating out of a trash can, and drinking water from some old guys sweaty socks! Please don’t leave me.”
You become worked up, sobbing once more, while you shake Soryu’s body back and forth, continuing to plead. “Wait, what?” Eisuke says, shocked at both the scenario you’ve come up with and the news. “You’re pregnant?” You stop crying long enough to shake your head yes, then immediately begin again. “Woah woah, it’s okay.” Soryu says, rubbing your back. About to pick you up, Eisuke snatches you away, being the one to pick you up instead. “Baby, it’s fine. We’re not highschool boys, we wouldn’t leave you because you’re pregnant.” Ota nods before saying “And how would you end up homeless?” He laughs lightly, “It just wouldn’t happen.” Finally starting to calm down, you sniffle, rubbing your teary eyes before saying “Because I’ve been doing bad at work, and now you’re going to fire me.” Looking at Eisuke, he shakes his head. “I wouldn’t fire you without reason, and even then I would take care of you. Technically, you don’t need a job. You were the one insistent on keeping yours.”
You give a small smile, thinking about the memories when you first began dating. Suddenly, a hand ruffles your hair, looking at the culprit, Mamoru gives a small smile back before sighing. Then, running a hand through his hair, he shakes his head. “Just relax kid, we’re not goin’ anywhere and you’re not in trouble.” The support was all you needed to calm down, shaking your head to acknowledge you heard Mamoru. “If anything, I’m glad you’re not upset with us.” Baba says, to which you look surprised. “Why would I be upset? If anything I’m ecstatic. We’re having a baby! I hope they look like one of you. They’re sure to be beautiful.” Thinking about it more, finally done crying altogether, you show them the pregnancy test. “We should make the gender a surprise! Do you think they’d like bears? Or are bears too scary? Maybe ducks? Oh, I know! Cats! Wait, what if we make their room ocean themed?”
Going on about the endless possibilities with clothes, room design, and how great parents you would be, Eisuke sets you down. “We have to get parenting books! What type of parents should we be? We could be intense, strict, free-range, french, or-!” You just keep going on, and they intently listen to every word, the smile never leaving their face. After that they had you take time off of work, you finally weren’t as embarrassed to eat sweets around them, they were always kissing, holding, or hugging you, saying how much they loved you. Baba loves rubbing your belly while you sleep, and together they get you anything and everything you could ask for. Eisuke is no longer brutally honest about how he thinks you look. He’ll tell you if something looks better than other outfits, but never critiques such as “it makes you look fat.” Overall, they all turned into soft, loving boyfriends who are always worried about you and the baby.

Amygdala
Pairing: mamoru kishi x reader
Genre: angst
Warnings: tw/domestic violence, cursing, sa, abuse
Tumblr media
a/n: i tried to keep the actual violence parts to a minimum, it can be really triggering! anyways, it was asked by an anon some time ago im so ashamed of myself for doing it so late so here it is. and as always, @hellocupie my favourite proof reader always helps me pull through my writer’s block.
…Nine
You counted mentally as put ointment on your fresh bruises
…Ten
Except, however you turned your legs, a barrage of bright scabs followed your eyes, painted in gorgeous shades of blue and purple.
You flinched as one hurt particularly bad. Putting aside the medical box, you almost stumbled when you got up. Regaining your balance you walked into the bathroom and analyzed your face.
“That bastard’s clever.”
You whispered under your breath as the only thing still safe and free of injuries on your body was your face except for one eye. You couldn’t go down to grab an ice bag. No, absolutely not. That man still would’ve been in the kitchen, drinking and eroding away.
You wanted to be free. There was nothing you wouldn’t give to be steer free of this torture cell that wasn’t even worthy of calling a home.
01:00 a.m.
There was still a timid little child rooted in you somewhere that was afraid of roaming the streets at this hour. All kinds of creeps hung out in the dark streets, especially at this hour of the night. It wasn’t easy sneaking out, but food, however, was still a priority and you hadn’t more than a slice of stale bread in two days.
Pulling your hood up, you walked into the 24 hour convenience store. Strawberry milk and two cups of ramen would do it, right?
You stuffed one cup under your hoodie, hoping the part-timer hadn’t noticed. Reaching the door, you made a dash for it but the guy working in the store caught on to your antics. Before you could even get away you smashed straight into a sturdy chest. Looking up, your eyes connected with grey orbs. You wanted to move back but the part-timer was right behind you.
“I told you I was hungry! I’ve never did this thing in my entire life, please believe me.” Pleading to the cop in the grey suit, you put your hands together in forgiveness, hoping for him to let you go.
“That still doesn’t give you an excuse to shoplift. Tell me either of your parent’s phone numbers if you don’t want to end up in juvy.” The man in grey said as he held you captive. You couldn’t risk your father knowing about this. Starvation won’t be the only cause of your demise if that happened.
“Please, I’m not lying. I haven’t eaten in over two days. All I wanted was some food in my stomach. I’ll never do this again!” Right on cue, your stomach grumbled and you pointed at it to prove your point.
It was at that moment when your hood pulled back a bit when the officer finally got a good look at your face. The purple bruising on the left side of your face definitely wasn’t from a stumbling into a pole, if that was the excuse you were gonna give him.
“What gave you that black eye?” He asked while he sat you on the stool outside the store, the part-timer back at the counter.
Your brain hollowed. Eyes dilated and breathing erratic. He wasn’t supposed to know about this. Not if you wanted a roof over your head. Playing it cool, you dismissed his question,
“That’s none of your business, officer.” You leaned on the table and the bearded man raised an eyebrow.
“I’m an officer of law, kid. It is my business.” He countered.
“Oh yeah? Says who?”
“The law.”
You couldn’t argue with that so you pursed your lips as you saw the faintest ghost of a smirk on his face.
“Wait right here and don’t you dare run away. I’ll still catch you.” He said as he disappeared into the store. You obviously didn’t want to get yourself into more trouble so you waited obediently.
Five minutes later, the man emerged from the store with two cups of your favourite ramen, the one you almost stole earlier, and a carton of choco milk. He placed one in front of you and took his place in the stool opposite to you. It was odd but you wouldn’t turn away free food.
“I wanted strawberry milk...” You said, breaking apart the chopsticks.
The officer slurped his and shot you a glare, “Be grateful. I don’t do this for everyone.” You glared back but continued to eat without further protest.
You made it safely back to your room after bidding goodbye to the officer and evading your father. With a full stomach, you slept well for the first time in weeks.
It has become a part of your daily routine now. You escape out of the house without your father catching on and having late night dinners with Mamoru outside the convenience store. He’d treat you to dinner or buy you little snacks which you initially refused until Mamoru forced them in your hands. You learned his name a week ago when he showed you his police card. In return, he asked yours.
He saw the scabs and scars on your arms and legs every now though except he never asked about them. He had seen enough victims of domestic violence before to figure out what was happening but he didn’t want to pry until you were ready to open up to him and you appreciated that.
You two often argued about him walking you to your house.
“I’m not a kid!” Your nose flared as you glared at him.
“Please, you’re the size of a munchkin. How are you not a kid?” Mamoru folded his arms.
“I’M SIXTEEN, I CAN WALK HOME ALONE.”
“You just proved my point, hence, you can’t go alone. Let’s go.” He grabbed you by the arm and dragged you with him. You eventually gave in and he walked you home from that point, leading to him learning your address. You were more than glad to find that your father wasn’t home nor asleep whenever Mamoru was outside your door.
Mamoru was worried. It had been six days. Six days since your last meet up. He waited late into the night hoping you’d show up but you didn’t. His texts were left on read and calls weren’t being answered. It was possible you were just busy with school work but it had never been this quiet on your end.
You were never open to him actually learning about your family so Mamoru only sought for help through his connections. His assumptions about your bruises hung over his head like a bad omen and he couldn’t shake off the bad feeling.
He found a little sister in the 16 year old that he never had. He had to find out what was going on in that house and if there was any person who was good at infiltration, it was Mitsunari Baba. When Mamoru explained to Baba why he had to go look for a teenager, he was baffled. But Baba had never seen the man look more distressed in all the time he has known him. So Baba took time out of his busy schedule to help the man and his little friend out.
The clock read 11:30, but you couldn’t figure out how long you’ve been lying in the kitchen, blood seeping out from every inch of your body. Your mind kept recalling all the events from an hour ago.
Your pathetic excuse of a father had just gotten home from God knows where. The awful stench of booze could be sensed from a mile away and that was your signal to make your escape. You wish, oh how you wish you hadn’t decided to lay down in the living room for a normal evening for the first time in a while. Before you could run off to the comfort of your room, your father grabbed you roughly by the hair and pulled you towards him.
“Now where are you running off to, huh!?” He uttered with a manic face. You knew what it meant and you wanted nothing more than to stay away from this man.
“You’re just a little whore, a whore like your slut mother who ran off with another dude for some dick!” He struck you across the face as he spat. Clenching your fist, you closed your eyes and endured whatever shit he threw at you.
“Now look at you! You’re running away at nights doing whatever the hell that whore did! The apple doesn’t fall from the tree, I guess. You thought I wouldn’t find out?” Your eyes widened in absolute horror when you heard that. At this point, he had already grabbed the golf club, your body being the recipient of his repetitive strikes.
“Do you get money for it too? You look plumper for someone who barely eats the food she’s given. You ungrateful wench, is the food I put on your plate not enough?”
He struck you in your stomach. You thought of the stale bread and the beer cans in the refrigerator. What food was he talking about?
“...Or do you enjoy getting fucked by men twice your age?”
This time, he aimed for your legs. Your battered and bloodied self could barely hold on to the last of the strength and you ended up collapsing on the wooden floor.
He grabbed the collar of your shirt and yanked you upwards. “You know, whenever I fucked the brains out of your stupid mother, she always stayed home like an obedient bitch. You’re the filth that came out of that shameless slut, it shouldn’t be difficult getting you on the same page.” You tried to lift your hands and swat his hands away when he puts them on your thigh, but failed. You wanted to vomit.
It was too much. You thought of everything that built up to this moment. You thought of Mamoru. You thought of the food he bought you because you were hungry. You thought of the warm hugs he gave you when you felt down. Even though this disgusting man continued his assault on you, you tried to think of the limited happy things in your life so you wouldn’t feel as bad as you leave this miserable life behind.
Baba was prepared to break the window to get in if he had to but he was quite surprised to see the back door of the house unlocked. He expected a shabby house but the state of the house was rather immaculate. His awe was short-lived when he stepped into the living room.
Blood. So much blood, he could hardly believe his eyes.
His eyes widened beyond belief when his gaze landed on you sprawled across the floor. Are you even breathing? He thought as he crouched down to check your pulse so he breathed a sigh of relief when he could hear your silent breathing. It was slow and soft but it was there. Your body was littered with bruises, most of them looked fresh and some, a few days old. He could hear water running somewhere upstairs and he couldn’t let this go on anymore.
Mamoru was devastated when Baba reported everything to him. How could he let something so big like this happen right under his nose? He had so many opportunities to help you, to pry the information out of you. But he resisted it all for your sake, and in the end, all he felt was regret. He had to resist the urge to destroy the man who had done this to you. But right now, his priority was you. Your safety and your well being so he did everything in his power to get you out of that hell.
You could barely make out the scene before you. You peeled your ears open to hear what they were saying but it was all so hazy. People dressed in police uniform were placing handcuffs on your father’s wrists while you felt yourself being carried in someone’s arms. It was a warm embrace and it felt familiar.
What’s going on?
You wanted to ask, but your hazy mind didn’t allow you, and you succumbed to the protection that the arms holding you provided.
When you opened your eyes, Mamoru was the last person you had expected to see in front of you. A nurse tended to all of your injuries, the injuries that your rotten father had cruelly inflicted on you. Mamoru was speaking with someone but this time you could make out some of the words they were saying.
Once the nurse was done treating you, Mamoru walked up to you. You didn’t mean to, but you unintentionally flinched. You didn’t want him to see you in this state. He understood that but it was all he needed in order to reassure himself that you were alright. You were okay, alive and breathing so he hugged you with all his might until you had to smack his arm to push him away.
He ended up telling you about how he got a call from your neighbour, a neighbour you don’t remember having, hearing thrashing noises from your house and immediately reported it to the police the moment he saw you lying in the lounge when he decided to check it out. Baba’s disguise had worked yet again and he was more delighted than anyone that his skills had actually saved someone’s life this time.
You were still terrified.
Years and years worth of abuse you had to endure had just come to an end and your brain could not keep up. What if he came after you? What if all of this was just one of the delusions you had cooked up when you had tried imagining yourself in a much better life? Your thoughts were quickly pulling you into that dark place again but Mamoru was there to drag you away from the pit of darkness you were living in. He believed he could and you allowed him to. You had just come to love him as an older brother, someone you could rely on so when you heard him utter the words ‘everything will be okay’ for the first time in years, you let your tears fall freely.

As per my suggestion...!!
heres the promised mermaid au fic!!! I might not ever finish it because theres a lot of worldbuilding and writing stuff that i dont have time for😔i havent looked over this in a while and it isnt beta read either so ignore any mistakes!! All that aside now, pls enjoy!!
Well, here I am.
Looking up, her expression hardly wavered at the luxurious and magnificent hotel she stood in front of.
Here it is. Tres Spades.
Her glance shifted low to the dark blue dress she wore specifically for the famous I.V.C held at the hotel. Her pearl necklace reflected the huge amount of light from both the inside and outside and her silk, white gloves held onto a matching white clutch. She wasn't gonna look like anyone present at the party, but she was fine with that. The party wasn't what was on her mind anyway, it didn't matter if she stood out or not.
All she had to do was get to the penthouse.
Walking through crowds and crowds of people, her white heels clicked with every step she took on the recently cleaned floor. As she reached the room the I.V.C was held at, she was suddenly startled by someone talking behind her.
"Woah! I've never seen you around here. Is this your first time attending the I.V.C perhaps?"
She spun around to find two men looking at her, their eyes not leaving hers. She recognized one of the two almost instantly.
"Oh! Why yes, this is my first time here. I was looking for Mr. Ichinomiya? He was supposed to escort me to the party." She flashed a radiant smile, hoping to catch the two off-guard. As she stared at them, she realized the identity of the second man who strangely wore a fedora hat.
"Oh! We're his accomplices, and I haven't heard anything about you from Mr. Ichinomiya...would you give us your name?" The blonde smiled, crossing his arms and waiting for an answer. Her heart slowly began beating faster as she thought of a made-up name.
"Misaki. My name is Misaki." She extended her hand out for a handshake, which the brunette took and gave the back of it a gentle kiss. Her heartbeat slowly went back to normal and her smile slightly fell.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful lady. My name is Mitsunari Baba, but you can call me Micchy or Mitsu for short. And you probably already know who my friend is." Baba glanced back and forth between the blonde and the woman.
"Of course, Kisaki Ota. I'd be ashamed if I didn't know who you were." She bowed and internally cringed, her patience slowly running low. She wasn't here to chat up some men...but, if they managed to get her up to the penthouse, at least the lying would be worth it.
"You flatter me Miss Misaki! Now, what was that about Mr. Ichinomiya escorting you to the I.V.C?"
"Ah, right. We talked over the phone weeks prior to the I.V.C, but he must have forgotten. He's a busy man after all, and so am I." Lying in situations as such was her specialty, but for some reason she felt as if she was being read easily. Can they tell?
"Boss is a very busy man. If you'd like, we could escort you around the I.V.C ourselves?" Baba gave her a handsome smile that would swoon women in her place, but she was barely phased. It wasn't her job to begin flirting with a thief.
She tried to shake off the unusual feeling she felt when she realized Ota's smile had also fallen a bit as he stared at her. Not at her, but her necklace specifically. The only explanation that sat right with her was that he'd been looking at it from an artist's point of view. She didn't know if he realized the necklace was made out of real pearls, however.
"I would appreciate it very much, Mitsunari." She smiled again for the sake of being polite.
From nearly getting lost in the sea of people to stumbling upon a mysterious looking hallway and being sold at a black market auction held in the basement of the hotel, she was only a few steps away from her goal. It didn't matter who bought her, she would escape them either way. Her eyes were set on finding one man and that man only. Her surprise when she heard she was sold to seat #100 came as a shock even to her. She fell right into the hands of the man she had her eyes on.
The cage she sat in had been carried all the way up to the penthouse, her heart racing as she realized how close she was to her target. Even if they didn't speak and wore masks, she knew exactly who the two men that carried her up there were as well.
And when she was brought in, she found herself face to face with him. Eisuke Ichinomiya.
"Who are you?"
"Boss, this is the lady that we-"
"If you let me out of this cage, I will tell you exactly who I am and what I'm doing here."
She stared at the five men who stared back at her. Her smile from earlier was replaced with a fierce gaze at Eisuke, who was staring at her cautiously.
"And how do we know you don't have any ulterior motives?" A strong looking man stood up which she quickly identified as Soryu, Eisuke's childhood friend and a mobster.
"If your security is good at checking whether or not people have weapons on them, then you don't have to be afraid Mr. Oh." She held her chin high and smiled internally at his slightly bewildered face.
"...You know who we are?" Eisuke spoke, eyebrows narrowing as he stared at her through his eyelashes. She could sense he was conflicted and a little confused.
"I know you all. And we'd be able to talk like normal people if you let me out of this cage," She crossed her arms, gaze not faltering as she stared back at Eisuke, "But we probably already know the phrase "normal people" doesn't suit you at all, right Ichinomiya?"
She saw his eyebrow twitch. As she guessed earlier, Baba and Ota took their masks off, their gazes switching back and forth between the woman and Eisuke.
"Is your definition of a succesful individual 'abnormal'?" Eisuke crossed his arms and took a sip of his wine, placing it on the table in front of him afterwards.
"I think we both know what I mean here." Her gaze went to the wine glass in front of him. Lowering her open palm, she aimed it directly at the glass before knocking it over, the wine spilling on Eisuke's leg.
All the men's eyes widened and Eisuke swiftly stood up, panic evident on his features.
"Eisuke, go!" Soryu suddenly yelled at him. Realizing he had to move as fast as he could, he dashed towards the staircase with a curse, managing to make it up before anyone could see anything.
When they made sure he was out of sight, everyone shot a glare at the woman. Only Ota seemed to stand still, still comprehending what had just happened.
"What the hell was that?" Soryu approached the cage, gun in hand now. The woman only grinned as the realization that she'd indeed found the man she was looking for began setting in.
"I think you know exactly what it was." Her fingers tapped at the golden cage as the mobster stared her down. She felt confident knowing she wouldn't be killed in that moment after what she did. They needed answers and she was aware of that. There was also no way they'd let her go unless they heard the full story, unless they didn't let her go at all. She was bought by them after all.
"I...don't get it. How did you knock over that glass?" Baba stared, still a little stunned. She rolled her eyes and glanced at the thief who was looking at her for an answer.
"I'm pretty sure you know that as well." Before looking away, she caught a glimpse of Ota looking almost...solemn, as he stared off into the distance.
"Come on now, you can't all play dumb. I'm here for one reason and one reason only."
"And that is?"
"Eisuke."
Soryu stared at her once more with a stern look on his face. Was he gonna let her out? She made it clear she'd explain everything if she was out of the cage...but how could he trust her like that? Especially when he didn't even know her name?
"Open the cage Mitsunari." A deep voice from the back spoke, the woman recognizing it as Mamoru's. At least he's not entirely stupid, as much as he is lazy.
Baba hesitantly reached into his pocket to take out a key, Soryu stepping away to make space. Opening the cage, the woman stepped out, arms crossed over one another. The men continued to stare at her for a moment before they heard footsteps coming from the staircase.
Her eyes immediately locked with Eisuke's as she looked up. He looked both furious and confused as he walked down each step.
"I'm gonna ask this one last time. Who are you and what are you doing here?" Making his way towards her, he stood in-between Baba and Soryu, eyes staring daggers into the woman. He only recieved a grin in return.
"I heard a siren call from miles away, and it lead me here in your hotel."
The CEO stared in pure confusion. He almost wanted to laugh at how ridiculous she sounded. A siren call. Is she for real?
Sure, it might not have sounded...that ridiculous, given the situation he was suddenly thrust into in less than twenty seconds. His eyes traveled to her neck adorned by the pearl necklace. He could feel his throat going dry even as he swallowed.
Those are real pearls.
And, sure, seeing real pearls hung on a string as an accessory wasn't the most unusual thing Eisuke had seen. But the way this woman was dressed bewildered him.
He estimated the cost of both her dress and heels were most probably around 200 dollars. Her gloves were made of silk, therefore they had to have been a little expensive. The pearls were what threw him off. A single, real white pearl was already expensive, but her necklace consisted of at least thirty pearls that varied in colors and shapes. He even recognized one of the rarest blue pearls hung onto the string, and he could feel the nervousness bubbling to the surface the more he stared.
"You've...gotta be kidding right?" The thief asked, gaze shifting to Eisuke who tried so hard to keep his expression as neutral as possible. Both him and Soryu were begining to catch onto the situation.
"I'm very serious. I came here specifically to talk to Eisuke, on behalf of my people."
"Your...people?" Puzzled, Soryu raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes now also shifting to look at Eisuke.
"I know what you are Eisuke. And we need your help." The woman's tone slowly morphed into one of pleading, as did her expression. Eisuke stared for what seemed like hours before sighing and turning his back to her.
"You have five minutes to explain."
"Five?!"
"Yes, only five."
She stared at his back as he walked over to the couch and sat down, Soryu and Baba following. She was glad she got the opportunity to talk...but five minutes? Really?!
"Alright I...just, do you mind bringing a glass of water?" Her gaze went to the artist who seemed to think about her question a little longer than he had to before nervously answering.
"Sure..." He put on a smile and strode over to the kitchen in the penthouse. Taking a deep breath before exhaling, her gaze returned to Eisuke who now sat on the couch, waiting for his explanation.
"First of all, I'd like to apologize for barging in all of a sudden and spilling wine on you. You were probably all confused and angry, especially you, Ichinomiya." Her heels clicked as she walked over to the four men, Eisuke's eyebrows forming into a frown as he recalled what happened.
"Apologize another time, get to your story." He swiftly crossed his legs and rest his chin in his palm as he waited for her to begin, as if he were a teacher about to listen to a student's excuse for a missed assignment.
By the time she stopped staring Eisuke down, Ota had come back with a glass of water as she'd asked. Funny how she has barely been here for five minutes and is ordering people around as if she owns the penthouse.
Thanking the artist, she set the glass down on the coffee table and waited for Ota to grab a seat, only for him to stand next to the couch Baba, Soryu and Eisuke sat on.
"As I said...I know what you are, Eisuke. Even if you might not know exactly what you are, we desperately need your help." She began, voice brave despite her slowly plummetting spirit.
"Who is this "we" you've been throwing around?" Baba exclaimed before getting interrupted by the woman.
"I'll get there. Let me explain."
"You fell into a pool when you were young in London...right?" She raised an eyebrow and looked at Eisuke for his reaction. He definitely didn't disappoint. His eyes went wide and he was now listening to her more cautiously, the nervous feeling on the verge of overflowing.
"You became a mermaid. Or...a merman. Otherwise known as a siren." She explained like she was some lunatic, but Eisuke knew better than to assume that when she was right. Except he had no idea what she meant by the siren part of it.
"How do you know any of this. Only my manager and some acquaintances are aware of what happened. How did you manage to find out what happened a decade ago?"
"That's not important. What is important is that I'm a real mermaid born at sea, and my people have and I have been threatened by the human race for years," She looked down, remembering the last moments with her family before they were taken from her, "They sacrificed themselves so I would stay alive and get help."
"It took you this long to find me?" Eisuke interrupted, his thoughts now racing. Had she been stalking him? Did she somehow bribe someone to tell her about him? What kind of help did she need exactly?
"I've known about you ever since you fell into that pool. You see, I'm from Britain myself, and all of us have known about you ever since that day." She explained briefly, not leaving any room for questions as she continued quickly afterwards.
"You're the first merman to have ever fallen in the pool in that cave in nearly sixty years. It just so happened that you became a siren on the day the last merman transformed 43 years before you did." She briefly caught a glimpse at Ota looking down at the floor as if he was holding something back. Did he wanna ask a question?
She decided to ignore it, passing it as just him being lost in his thoughts.
"This is...too much information," Eisuke rubbed his temple, her words barely registering. He was finally used to being this weird form of a human after so long, and suddenly there's so much information shoved into him it's almost too overwhelming.
"You think? You gave me five minutes to explain, I'm using that time wisely." She may have been aware of the conflicted situation he was in at that moment as he slowly took in what she was saying. Still though, she figured she might as well drop the bomb as quickly as she could, even if it confused Eisuke at first.
"We've been looking for a siren for years now due to our problems with the human race. And that just so happened to be you..."
Her frightless demeanor began to wear off, quickly replaced by someone in genuine need of help. Eisuke stared at her, her words still registering. So he was a siren. Was it good that he finally knew his identity after so many years? He certainly didn't feel any better knowing, that's for sure. What if she was lying?
"Can you prove to me in any way that you're telling the truth?"
The woman stared at him. Of course, Eisuke Ichinomiya of all people would never believe some girl suddenly showing up at his penthouse, telling him he was a damn siren and that there were real mer-people living in the sea with no proof. The whole story seemed like a sick joke. Even if she knew things many others hadn't known, even if she held information that Eisuke had never revealed publicly...he had to know.
"If you'll allow me to," She raised her open palm once more and focused her energy on the glass of water in front of her. Soon enough, they saw what looked like a bubble rise out of the glass. Eisuke knew she wasn't lying the moment he saw the "bubble" rise higher and higher, but still wanted to see what she would do. As the water reached her head, her hand suddenly dropped to her side, as did the bubble. The CEO's eyes widened as it splashed over her head and he was already begining to count down the seconds it took for her to transform. No sooner than that did Baba get up and rushed over to her, holding her up by her arms as her legs disappeared and were replaced by a sparkling blue tail.
"Is that enough proof for you, Ichinomiya?"

Note
If you're requests are open I'd love to see some angsty kbtbb, especially w eisuke. Sorry if it's vague I've never requested anything before. Hope you're having a good day :)
okay, i can’t figure out who this is. i’m debating on writing two options: unrequited love, where younger reader is crushing hard on eisuke but he can’t return her love because of both age and he’s just not into her like that. or traumatized reader who has a trauma response to maybe a fight, or something along those lines.

She Should Be With Me ~ Soryu
Hey Guys!😊
Back with the 3rd story as part of this set, and this time it's Soryu!🥰
As always, I have included the link to the prologue below!⬇️⬇️
So far I have previously posted Eisuke's and Mamoru's stories! 💕
So this is...
Soryu x MC
A story of jealousy and fluff 😊
Disclaimer ~ Characters belong to Voltage Inc
~3857 words
It was as though time had stopped. Being a mobster meant Soryu had faced his fair share of danger. He had stared down the barrel of a gun, numerous times, and had participated in many shoot outs. The man had walked the fine line between life and death too many times to count. Yet the words that had just left MC’s lips left him frozen. Time stood still.
He was relieved that no one seemed to notice how his pulse had spiked. He could hear the drumming of his heart in his ears, blocking out any other surrounding sounds. His eyes focused intently on the only woman who had ever held his heart captive.
Soryu had always hated women. Their weakness, the smell of their perfume, the sound of their voices. He hated it all. Yet meeting MC had softened the cold mobster’s heart. Finally allowing himself to open up to a woman. Finding the only woman who did not irritate the man.
He never expected to fall in love with MC when they met a few years ago. But how could he not? After all, she was different to the others. A fact Soryu learned when they chose MC to help him out.
It all started when Soryu told Eisuke of the dilemma he and the Ice Dragons were facing. Another mob boss was sending his daughter over to meet with the Ice Dragons in the hopes of forming an alliance. During that time, Soryu was tasked with ensuring her safety while discussions took place.
As such he needed another female. One who could keep the daughter company during the day, and when needed attend meetings in her stead, allowing Soryu to prevent any potential harm coming to the mob boss’s daughter.
After showing Eisuke a photo of the guest, Eisuke immediately suggested one of the newer maids he had hired. She looked similar and had shown a feistier and braver side compared to most women he had met. Perfect for this job.
When Soryu met MC, she had been confused as to why he would want her, a complete stranger, to assist him. Nonetheless, she readily agreed to support him. Even when Soryu attempted to intimidate her in a way the other mob members would, she did not flinch. She held his look, returning one of her own. She really was different, he thought.
In the month she assisted him, MC kept the visiting daughter company during the day, and attended meetings at night. Due to their close proximity during this month Soryu and MC had come to learn much about each other. They soon found a mutual love for detective novels, discussing new and old releases frequently. MC even tried recommending some of the movies to Soryu, often dragging him to see new releases with her.
What surprised Soryu was how, rather than being annoyed with MC’s presence and insistence, he cherished those moments together. He looked forward to the next. He soon came to crave their time together.
So much so, when it came time for him to no longer need MC’s assistance, he still kept her around. Discussing detective novels became their daily conversation when they bumped into each other around the hotel. They would meet up regularly for coffee or to go see the new releases of these movies.
Soon Soryu introduced her properly to the other bidder’s, although this was punishment due to him losing a game of poker to Eisuke. It didn’t take long for the other guys to love spending time with MC just as much as he did.
However, just as Soryu realised he had fallen in love with MC and was prepared to tell her, he learned the devastating fact that she had a boyfriend. And he settled himself to endure the pain of an unrequited love.
As the years had gone by, Soryu had fallen more deeply in love with MC. He still cherished his moments with her discussing and swapping novels. Seeing films. He really had settled to love her from afar.
Yet sometimes, just sometimes, he saw something in the looks she gave him. The smiles she shared. That something, giving him hope that maybe, just maybe, she may also have a part of her that she longed to share with him. But these looks were always gone as quickly as they appeared. Soryu was always left wondering, had he imagined those looks?
As Soryu watched the others questioning MC over her decision to move in with her boyfriend, he heard as the final bombshell was dropped.
“So,while I really am grateful for the promotion Eisuke, I, uh, I may have to start looking for a new job… the apartment Mason chose for us… it is quite far away and while I can travel in at the moment, it would be best for me if I were to work closer to our home…” MC spoke, the sadness evident in her voice.
“Do you want to leave?” Eisuke asked, looking at MC in shock.
“It’s not that I want to, but it would be closer to home” She responded, the pain of these words, crystal clear in her glossy eyes.
“Then don’t” Soryu couldn’t help but interrupt. Everyone turned their eyes to him, and he finally realised what he had done. “Look… he chose the place, and now you’re going to have to leave a job you love and your friends? I don’t think you should go…”
Following that last remark, Soryu left the penthouse behind, everyone’s eyes following him. His departure and the other bidder’s distraction, meant no one noticed as MC held a hand to her chest as her eyes followed Soryu affectionately. Her heart rate increasing at his sudden declaration.
**
A couple of weeks had passed since MC had informed everyone that she would be seeking a new job. Everyone had been tiptoeing around the matter. No one wanting to discuss her impending departure. Particularly when Soryu was around. And he was more than aware of their conscious efforts to avoid discussing the topic of MC leaving when he was present.
The penthouse lounge would go quiet when he entered the room anytime MC was being discussed. Soryu felt the tense, sympathetic looks the others gave him. He didn’t want or need their sympathy. He just wanted them to treat him normally. And he wanted MC to stay.
He had thought, as long as she was close by, he could watch her from a distance. Sharing in their daily conversations… that would be enough for him. If she were to leave, he would lose even that small comfort. It was a comfort he was desperate to keep.
Today was like any other day for Soryu. He and MC had arranged to meet for a coffee to discuss the latest detective stories they had been reading, and have a general catch up.
Soryu sat at their usual table. The book he had been reading sat closed atop the table. The story had been about the disappearance of a teenage girl, whose body was later discovered in a woodland in the countryside. Two detectives were tasked were finding the culprit. Before the end of the book, two more teenage girls went missing and were later discovered, one by a canal and the other beside the motorway. Soryu had enjoyed the story, and was looking forward to discussing the book with MC, since she had been the one to recommend the book to him.
The bell on the café door chimed, and MC walked in. The moment she spotted Soryu her face lit up with a smile as bright as the morning sunrise. Soryu’s features softened in return. His heart beating at a slightly faster pace at her arrival.
“Soryu! I hope you weren’t waiting too long!” MC stated, apologetic for arriving after Soryu.
He shook his head, pulling her chair out for her. Truthfully, he had been their long enough to enjoy two coffee’s already, excited to see her. But he wouldn’t be telling her that.
A waitress brought over two coffee’s as if she had been waiting for the moment MC arrived to do so, leaving the pair to settle into a friendly discussion. It didn’t take long for them to be so enthralled in their discussion that the minutes turned to an hour, and one coffee had become two then three.
As MC finished her coffee, she smiled at Soryu.
“What?” Soryu asked, a nervous blush staining his cheeks.
“Nothing, it’s just nice… being able to talk with you like this… I’ll… I’ll miss it” MC whispered the words, pain once again showing itself on her features.
“Miss it?” Soryu asked, genuinely bewildered by her statement.
“You know… when I’m gone” tears had begun to fill MC’s eyes, she seemed to curl in on herself. The brightness she usually displayed had dimmed slightly.
“Don’t be ridiculous MC” Soryu snapped, surprising both himself and MC.
She stared at him in shock. In the years MC and Soryu had known one another, since becoming friends, he had never lost his temper or raised his voice at her. Not once. Yet here he was, his emotions high, getting angry.
“I’m not being ridiculous Soryu! Once I have a new job, I won’t be at the hotel anymore. If I’m not there anymore, then I won’t see you guys anymore!” MC replied, equally frustrated.
“THEN DON’T LEAVE!” Soryu shouted, his eyes filled with anguish, yet he couldn’t control how he seemed to burn with anger.
His heart hurt more, when he saw the tears become too heavy for MC to prevent them from falling. Words failed him when she dumped some money on the table, grabbed her bag and ran from the café. He could only stare vacantly at the chair she had been sat in only moments earlier.
Why had he raised his voice? If that was the last outing they were to share… why did he have to raise his voice. Why did he have to make her cry?
Soryu clenched his hands into tight fists. His nails dug into his palms, leaving deep indentations in the skin. Yet the pain was nothing compared to the ache in his heart.
**
A couple more weeks had passed, and Soryu hadn’t seen or spoken to MC since she fled the coffee shop. She wasn’t answering his calls, responding to his messages, and he hadn’t seen her around the hotel. He was beginning to feel uneasy without her presence. Was she ok?
As he entered the penthouse lounge he noticed the others surrounding Eisuke, a sheet of paper sitting on the table in front of them. The upset on their faces told Soryu that whatever it was, they didn’t like it.
“What’s that?” Soryu asked, approaching the group.
“MC resigned. With immediate effect.” Eisuke replied, eyes fixed on the letter in front of him.
“What? Didn’t you stop her?” Soryu asked, his heart rate spiking.
“I would have if I had spoken with her! She left the letter here. She didn’t even say goodbye.” Eisuke responded, the frustration in his voice clear.
Soryu finally looked at the letter. The words on the page were in MC’s neatest writing. Her signature at the end.
‘Dear Mr Ichinomiya,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work for a hotel with such a high esteem as the Tres Spades.
In the years I have been here, I have grown as an individual vastly, learned valuable skills, and made numerous friends.
When you offered me the promotion recently, I was overjoyed. I loved working here at the hotel, and to be noticed for my skills was a privilege and compliment I do not take lately.
It is with a heavy heart, that due to travel issues, I hand in my letter of resignation. Resigning with immediate effect.
Kindest Regards,
MC
P.S… I’m sorry I could not say goodbye to you all. Situations at home have meant I needed to leave sooner than I had expected. Seeing you all would have made leaving that much harder, and I couldn’t have you refusing my resignation. You guys have been my closest friends for the last few years, and I will always be grateful to you all. Goodbye, MC x’
The letter was short and sweet. But what struck Soryu was her mentioning situations at home. Were her and Mason having problems?
“Eisuke… are you really going to let her leave that easily?” Soryu grunted, hoping his friend would be the one to do something so he could keep his own personal feelings guarded longer.
“No.”
“EISUKE!” Soryu shouted, his frustration at MC leaving once again bubbling over.
“Soryu, she made a decision. As her friend I have to respect it. But as your friend I will do you one curtesy” Eisuke replied, his signature smirk on his face.
“What?”
“3 weeks. Find her in 3 weeks, be honest with her, and if she comes back we will treat it as though she was on holiday. If in 3 weeks she isn’t back, I will formally process and accept her resignation”
3 weeks. That’s all he needed. He nodded his thanks to Eisuke, and dialled Inui’s number as he walked out from the penthouse.
“Hey Inui, I need people looking for MC. Find where she is, and tell me. ASAP. We only have 3 weeks.”
Hope filled Soryu. No matter what she says, at the end of these 3 weeks… he will finally have told MC he loves her. His feelings would no longer be shackled away.
**
“Boss, she’s working in a coffee shop called La Casetta del Caffè”
The words stopped Soryu where he was. 2 weeks. 2 weeks they had been searching for MC and now they had finally found her.
Soryu was determined he would waste no more time. He picked up a bouquet of roses and raced to the coffee shops where MC was working.
As he entered the coffee shop, he saw her. He felt his heart fill with anticipation. It had been a month since he heard her voice. A month since she had run out of that coffee shop.
Running a hand through his tousled hair, he smoothed his jacket down, approaching the counter.
“Welcome to La Casetta del Caffè, what can I get you?” MC said smiling, but when she finally looked up, her smile fell. The sight of Soryu, someone who should not be there, surprised her.
“Hey MC” Soryu said, showing her a small smile, a blush stained his cheeks.
She was a beautiful as he remembered. It sounded ridiculous. Of course, she was, it had only been a month. But that month had felt like eternity to him. His heart broke more each day they were apart. Yet seeing her now, he felt whole again.
“W-what are you doing here?” MC asked, she was surprised but she could hide the happiness seeing Soryu brought her.
“I need to talk to you; what time does your break start?” Soryu asked, when a kind looking older gentleman responded.
“MC, you can go on your break now if you like” He smiled and looked toward Soryu, “I hope you treat her a bit better than that other one!” the man huffed and went back to serving customers.
Soryu looked to MC confused.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll meet you outside with a coffee in 5 minutes ok?” Soryu nodded in reply, heading outside, as MC began preparing two coffees.
MC brought the two coffees outside and sat opposite Soryu at the table. Sitting outside offered them some privacy, away from the prying eyes of the customers and owner.
“So… what are you doing here?” MC asked.
“First… these are for you.” Soryu said, handing MC the roses he had bought before arriving. Surprised, MC accepted the bouquet, smelling the flowers.
“They’re beautiful… thank you” MC smiled.
“And I really do need to talk to you…”
“Ok, sure…” MC replied nervously.
“Please, don’t say anything until I’ve finished. I’ve wanted to say a lot of this for a long time.” MC nodded and Soryu continued, “Firstly, I’m sorry for shouting at you when we went out before. I was hurting knowing you were leaving, that didn’t give me a right to shout at you, but I need you to know, it was from a place of pain about losing you that cause my outburst.”
Soryu sighed, looking up before continuing.
“And secondly. When I said I didn’t want you to leave, I meant it. But I didn’t mean it in the way the others were meaning it. I wasn’t going to miss you because you were my friend. I was going to miss you, and didn’t want you to leave, because… because I love you. MC I’ve been in love with you for almost as long as I have known you. I’m utterly crazy about you, and I thought just having you near was enough, that I would never need to tell you how I feel, but then you left and I realised I messed up never telling you.”
“Soryu…”
“Look, MC… Eisuke gave me 3 weeks. 3 weeks to tell you how I feel. 3 weeks to try convince you to come back. If you come back by Friday next week… they’ll ignore your resignation letter. You can come back like you never left. But if you don’t… if you don’t return by Friday, he will formally process your resignation.”
When he finished Soryu stood. He smiled at MC, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek.
“I’ll be in the hotel all day Friday… I… I hope you come back MC”
Following his remark, he began walking, before turning towards the café door where the owner quietly stood.
“Sir, I don’t know what incident you were referring to, but I assure you, if she chose to come to me, I would treat her with the utmost respect and care. That, I promise you.” Smiling once at MC, Soryu walked away and headed back for the Tres Spades.
If he had turned to look, he may have noticed as the tears fell from MC’s eyes, the kind smile she showed him as he walked away, and the hand she held to her chest.
**
A week had passed. It was now Friday. MC had not visited once, nor had she contacted any of them. Yet Soryu held onto that glimmer of hope that she would come.
Soryu sat in the penthouse lounge waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Seconds turned to minutes. The minutes turned to hours. Still MC had not arrived. It was getting later, and the others who had sat with him at various points during the day had returned to their own rooms.
8pm… she isn’t coming, is she… Soryu thought. Rising to his feet, he headed towards his own suite. Disappointment and hurt filled his heart. He really believed she would come back. He really believed, she should be with him.
When he arrived back in his suite, he poured himself a large brandy. He wasn’t normally one to drown his sorrows, but today, he wanted to drink until he forgot why he was hurting.
He sat on his sofa, head in his hands. The pain all he could think about. Until…
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A knocking on his door grabbed his attention. Who on earth would be knocking on his suite door now? If it was Baba or Ota, he swore to God he would pull his gun out so quickly. Yet the sight that greeted him made his eyes bulge and mouth drop open.
“Sorry I’m so late, it took a while to pack and then I needed to meet with Eisuke!” MC stood before him, a small suite case in her hands.
“MC!” Soryu exclaimed, pulling her into a tight crushing embrace. “You… you came back”
“I choose happiness” MC whispered, returning Soryu’s embrace. “And… you never let me respond to what you told me last week.”
Soryu pulled back slightly. He looked around the corridor to make sure the others weren’t spying on them, before dragging MC into his room.
They sat together on the sofa. Soryu kept his arms around MC as they snuggled close.
“So… first tell me what that man meant when he said he hoped I would treat you better?”
“Ah… that. Mason wanted me to quit the hotel. He argued about it, a lot. When I finally quit, and found the job at the café he came in on my second shift and screamed at me in front of the customers and owner about how I wasn’t working in a proper job and so we had less money coming in. I was mortified and the owner stepped in. He had moved me away from my job and friends and still had the audacity to moan about me not having as much money coming in. That was the end of things, it was the final straw.”
“That explains that one…” Soryu replied, he felt his own anger at the way MC’s ex had felt he could treat her. “So… you’re back?”
“Yep, Eisuke was happy to see me when I walked through the door. He wasted no time getting me to make him a coffee” MC giggled.
“I’m glad you’re back where you belong, MC” Soryu smiled, stroking soft MC’s hair.
“Thank you Soryu… and I need to tell you something”
Soryu nodded looking at the back of MC’s head as she sat leaning back against his chest.
“The truth is… I’ve had these strange feelings about you for a very, very, long time but it wasn’t until I left and you came to the café and told me how you felt that I truly understood what these feelings were. The truth is, Soryu… I’m in love with you, too. You make my heart race, I enjoy our conversations about things we both like. But most importantly, I enjoy being with you.”
“MC…”
“I love you, Soryu…”
“I love you, too!” Soryu exclaimed, crushing MC to his chest.
Overcome with emotion, Soryu lifted MC into his arms turning her to face him. His hands took her cheeks between them, and guided her lips to his. Their first kiss was soft, and gentle.
But it took no time, before they were overcome with passion, and their kiss deepened. The emotions he had been holding back all these years, Soryu finally placed in those kisses. That tame first kiss, soon became deep, intense kisses. If they were to signify anything, it was that a long, steamy night was ahead.
**
When Soryu woke the following morning, he smiled. In his arms he held the still sleeping MC. Relief flooded him. It hadn’t been a dream. She really had returned to them. To him. The woman he had adored from afar for the last few years, was finally his.
The cold mobster had found the one woman who could bring out his soft side. And now he had her, he was certain, he would never be letting her go.

Daddy’s Work - ( Soryu  Fanfic )
Congratulations to my giveaway winner @rockingbrooklyn!! She requested I write a fic where Soryu takes his toddler daughter to work and spends the day with him. ((: I’m sorry for the delay!! But here it is! 💕 Hope you enjoy.
Words: 1791 Genre: Fluff Notes: I haven’t written something happy in sooo long! As always, comments and feedback are welcomed!
Tumblr media
“B-Boss!?” Stuttered one.
“Who’s that??!” Wailed another.
Their necks that stretched above to see Soryu now ducked down to gaze at the dainty figure that hid behind his leg. It clung so tightly to the hem of his pants, wrinkling the fabric with the intensity of its grasp.
“Go on..” Soryu ushered the being by popping his chin in the direction of the men. “Say hi.”
He tried spreading his leg to unveil the face that was hidden behind him. However, all it did was scurry behind his leg and grip it tighter. Strange. She wasn’t usually shy.
“Oh, come here.” Soryu bent down to wrestle the mysterious being from the clutch of his outfit. He started to chuckle as he maneuvered his hands around it, and in return, it giggled with him as well. Delicate chime bells was one way to describe the laughter of this figure. Who exactly was this creature behind him? It seemed like some child but.. Soryu with a child? Him having a wife was already hard to wrap their head around.
Soon however, the moment ceased as Soryu lifted the figure high in the air and delighted screams were now accompanied by gasp of the men.
Was that? A girl? A female child? With SORYU?
Their mouths gaped open and their eyes bursted from their sockets. Their focal point was now her. Everything about her. Curls that bounced when contacted with her shoulders. Eyes that seemed to reflect every celestial being that roamed the sky. Cheeks brushed with careful strokes of red. And even the minuscule silk bow that added a touch of elegance. Next to Soryu, they seemed like complete opposites. The men were confused before, but now they couldn’t even comprehend the situation. Soryu laid his arms around her waist and prompted her on his hip, turning his leg to pop his hip out further.
“Now, can you say hi?” He dragged the sentence slowly and added the sweet chord to the end of his sentence. What the hell was he doing? Was he really being cute, err, trying to be cute with this girl?
“...Hi..” Barely a whisper of the word. Yet, it was the last flame that the bomb of questions needed.
“BOSS, TELL US?!!”
“WHO IS THAT CUTE LITTLE GIRL???”
“BOSS..DID YOU- No.. DID YOU STEAL A LITTLE GIRL???!!”
“Guys, please...” He loved them. Dearly. But at times like these, he wished he could sew their mouths shut to prevent any more nonsense spewing through their teeth. “This is my daughter-“
He ignited yet another bomb.
“LIES!”
“This cute little girl can’t be your daughter!”
“You’re too scary for a girl like that!!”
Quite the insults coming from the men who coward at his glare. Not men. Idiots. All of them. His mouth opened, ready to defend his honor that was shattering as they continued to doubt his ties with his little girl. Yet, his words never vibrated the waves of air. Instead, hers did.
“This is my daddy!” The laughter ceased in an instant. “Daddy is not scary! Daddy handsome!” Her hands latched onto Soryu’s shoulders as she leaned towards the crowd. What did they mean Daddy was scary? Daddy always gave her gifts and read stories to her! Even as a small child, her cheeks grew hot with anger and puffed threateningly.
“Say sorry!” She now pointed her finger directly in the center of the group.
“Pfft..” Soryu shifted his head, muffling his chuckles through the gate of his hand. Just like her mother. Just like her.
“B-But..”
“Say sorry NOW!”
“W-We’re sorry!” They fell to their knees and begged for their mercy. Shivers that ran along their spine paralyzing their heads downward in a respectful position.
“You guys never change..” He felt a warmth rapture his heart and stream it’s way to every corner of his body. “You still always listen to the girls..” They listened like dogs when under the harsh criticism of his wife or his daughter. Peculiar yet amusing. One of the group’s quirks supposedly.
“Alright..” Though as playful this time had been, Soryu’s duty laid heavy on his shoulders. Several documents, discussions with neighboring mafia’s had to be dealt with to maintain the order that strictly flowed. Yet, how could he leave? No. No. He had to.
“Well.. Since you’re acquainted...” Soryu freed his arm from underneath her and lowered his posture, delicately placing her feet on the carpet. “I trust you’ll take good care of her as I attend to what needs to be done.”
“No!!” Her tiny grasp seized his onward motion. She looked at him, her eyes once filled with the stars now clouded, brimming on the edge with tears. She didn’t want Daddy to leave! Lush curls teetered back and forth as she buried her snot stricken face into the fabric of his pants once more.
“I wanna play! Play!” A demand? Or a cry for affection? It broke his heart regardless. Yes, he wanted to hold and play with her too. Tangle his finger through the cyclones of her hair. Rub the edge of his calloused knuckles through the tender and gentle warmth of her cheeks. But, in order to do that, he needed to work so they could continue these blissful moments. Not live a life controlled by fear and violence.
“I promise,” Soryu raked his fingers through her hair and clemently tousled her frills, “After Daddy’s done, we’ll play lots. Okay?”
His smile lifted his face and wrinkled the sides of his eyes. Lovingly narrowing to convey his immeasurable love he endured for her. She seemed to understand. Daddy play with her later? Yay! In return, she widened her smile larger than Soryu’s to show him her approval. Releasing him of her hold, she lifted her pinky.
“Promise?”
Taken aback at the gesture Soryu widened his eyes. Where had she learn that? An image of his beloved replayed through his head like an ancient film. Ahh. Yes. Of course. From the one he admired most yet again. He too raised his pinky.
“Promise.”
—- Few hours Later ——
“Daddy?” A noise, barely a whisper softly cooed at Soryu. Even at such a volume, he could recognized that sweet melody of notes
“What is it, Princess?” He unfurled his neck from the bent position it was in. Scattered cracking under the pressure as he straightened.
“Why does Daddy have to put a time out on bad guys?” She timidly glazed her way to Soryu’s side, keeping her head parallel to the carpet. Playing with the Ice Dragons was entertaining, yet she longed to ravage in the same exhilaration with her father. This feeling. A feeling of longing to be close to her father felt.. guilty. How could a young girl feel this way? At the age of five no less.
Through the thin shield of her curls, Soryu could see her eyes. Lashes low to the ground and her cheeks pouting a peach color contrary to the rose blush before. What sort of question was he being asked? More of, how did such a question arise- Right. The Dragons must’ve told her stories. Damn.. How to respond..How-to-respond..
“Because I need to protect you..” A truthful answer. One that slipped through his tongue. However, his response awoke an emotion inside of her that was yet to be explored thoroughly. One of misunderstanding and hurt. Big welts of tears began to sweep down the sides of her cheeks, her nose unfurling the snot that was dried before. Her shoulders shook slightly as she hastily tried to dispel of her tears through the near end of her palm.
“H-Hey-“
“I’m sorry, Daddy!” She managed to scream the agonizing words through the hiccups of her tears.
“Why are you apologizing?” The chair beneath him was casted aside. Rapidly, he ran to her aid. Kneeling to her side, drying the tears with his sleeve and pulling her into his embrace while rhythmically patting her back. He was baffled. Why was she crying? What was he supposed to do? Did he misword something?
“B-Because!” Her sudden scattered inhales interrupted her explanation. “I-I put Daddy in s-scary posit-positions!” She wailed into Soryu’s shoulders.
“No.. That’s not-“
“I-I’ll try to bec-become stronger so Dad-Daddy won’t need to protect m-me anymore!” Tears after tears. How could she put Daddy in such scary places?!
“No- Look- Ah..” Soryu faced a predicament, one that he wasn’t accustomed to handling with. Whilst coaxing her through his warmth, his head ran wild with words that would harmoniously string together to calm the storm he created. He wasn’t good with words that held tremendous comfort. Blunt and sharp words were the only ones circulating his vocabulary. However, that was before he met her. Her, the one who blessed upon him the joy of a life and a daughter to raise. Soryu found himself replaying the memories of their family together, searching for a scene that reflected an identical situation to the one now. Think, Soryu. Think!
Muffled intakes and exhales of stuttered breaths were the only sounds in the room for a duration of time.
“Look..” He peeled her away from the placement she stuck against his shoulder. Standing her posture to be directly in the center of his focal point.
“You don’t need to apologize.. Daddy wants to protect you. If I don’t, bad people may come for us and Daddy doesn’t want anybody hurt. Especially you, my little girl.” Knuckles that belonged to him slid underneath her chin and held it up gently. Doed eyes that were reddened from excessive tears now gazed directly into his. In return, slanted eyes crinkled with compassion to further explain his endearment towards her. “I want to play with you. I do. But, for me to play, I need to make sure no one harms you. Okay? Don’t cry. I love you, Princess. I’ll make sure no one harms you.”
“So, Daddy’s not mad?” The childish glow steadily began to replenish her once again.
“No. Daddy’s not mad.” Soryu wiped the last teardrop upon her cheek before standing from his knelt position. “Now, come here!” He widened his arms and passionately glimmered a smile at her. It felt like the right time. Time to finally play.
“Hehe!!” She bound into the embrace of his arms yet again. Daddy was going to play! Play!
“I promised didn’t I?” Soryu raised his pinky into her view, utilizing it to quickly swipe it on the bridge of her nose. The same chimes that twinkled when she laughed arose again as she interlocked her pinky with his. Who knew that the work he planned today would be put off? Especially by a little girl that held a tremendous place in the furrows of Soryu’s heart.

forgetting him, forgetting her ; soryu oh
"I'll wait here, for how long it takes. Please wake up, [Name]."
There it was again. That voice. Yet she didn't have a clue who the voice belongs to. She tries to move but pain shoots through her body and [Name] groans.
"[Name]? [Name]?!"
The voice returns and she feels a warm hand touch hers but [Name] can't seem to move. She hears a fast beeping and suddenly a different voice reaches her ears.
"Please sir, you need to step outside and let us do our job"
They're the last thing that [Name] hears before it's silent and her mind shuts off.
- - -
The next time she hears something, it's a faint beeping - a complete opposite tempo to the beeping she heard before.
[Name] tries to move again, feeling her fingers twitch at her side. Slowly, she tries to open her eyes but a bright light hits her vision and she closes them again.
"[Name]? Are you awake?"
She tries again, continuously blinking to adjust her vision to the lights. [Name] moves her head, her neck stiff as if she hadn't moved in months.
When she fully regains her vision, the first thing she sees is a suit.
The owner of the suit lets out a sigh of relief, rushing up to [Name]'s bedside and gently grabbing a hold of her hand. [Name] flinches at the touch and her eyes travel upwards to meet the man's eyes.
"Thank god," He says, lifting her hand up to place a kiss.
But before he can, [Name] suddenly pulls her hand away, recoiling from him. She doesn't miss the hurt that flashes in his eyes but her fear at his presence overcomes her entire being.
"W-Who are you? Why are you here?" [Name]'s voice is hoarse, and her hand reaches up to her throat. Waking up in an unfamiliar place, with an unfamiliar man - she had every right to be scared.
Soryu's astonished - he definitely didn't expect those words to be the first he hears from her for two whole months.
"Now's not the time to joke around, [Name]," Soryu tells her.
He attempts to reach for her hand again but her scream leaves him frozen in place.
"Don't touch me!"
A nurse passing by the room, opens the door to check in and sensing the fear from [Name], she walks in.
"Is everything alright in here?" Eyeing Soryu, she turns to look at [Name] who's shaking. Soryu's face is completely blank as he continues to stare at [Name].
Seeing that she's wearing a nurse uniform, [Name] relaxes a bit, knowing that she could at least trust her.
"This man was in here when I woke up, I don't know why," [Name] tells her.
He can feel a dagger stabbing through his heart with every word.
"Do you know this man?" The nurse questions and [Name] shakes her head.
Soryu can't move, he can't think, he can't even breathe.
The nurse turns back to Soryu, she can't help but pity him. She had seen him countless times over the course of [Name]'s stay - [Name] must have been incredibly precious to him.
The nurse regrets her next words, knowing that Soryu is probably falling apart behind his stoic facade but [Name] is her patient, therefore she comes first.
"I'm sorry, sir but you need to leave"
- - - - -
That night he visits her, Soryu makes sure [Name]'s asleep. If he arrived while she was awake, Soryu was sure he'd get kicked out. After all, [Name] doesn't know who he is.
Pulling up a chair to her bedside, Soryu just sits and watches her. A lot of the damage on [Name]'s had disappeared over the past two months but his eyes can't leave the small scar right above her collarbone, forever a reminder that he couldn't protect her.
He resists the urge of touching her, fearing that [Name] would wake up upon feeling something.
Soryu doesn't know how long he stayed, watching [Name] sleeping peacefully, when his phone buzzes. Seeing a text from Samejima, he knows he needs to return back to the office.
Standing up, he notices a glint on the table.
Soryu can't help but feel his heart tearing in two when he sees her engagement ring - it never should have left her hand to begin with.
Turning back for one last glance at the girl he loves, he finds that she has turned away from him, her back facing towards him.
Taking the engagement ring, he secures it in his pocket before taking his leave.
- - - - -
"You're still here, Soryu?" Baba questions in a slightly teasing tone, watching Soryu remain in his seat, "You're usually running back to your princess the second the auction's done"
The auctions had just ended and it was unusual for the other bidders to see Soryu linger around afterwards - since [Name] had entered the hospital, Soryu knew he still had to do his job as both the boss of the Ice Dragons and an auction manager, but he'd rush back to [Name]'s side as soon as he could.
He doesn't answer Baba and the others can immediately recognise that something was wrong.
"Soryu, did something happen?" Eisuke asks.
"She woke up," Soryu answers shortly, keeping his eyes down at the centre stage.
"That's great," Baba cheers, "We'll finally get to see her again"
"So then, why are you still here?" Ota asks.
"Aren't you supposed to be at her beck and call?" Mamoru chimes in.
Soryu's hands clench into fists as he glares down.
"She doesn't remember me. I'm a total stranger to her"
The coldness in his voice sends a shiver down their spines - even Eisuke's as they all take in his words.
Ota breaks the silence, "So what are you going to do?"
Soryu stays silent, what can he do?
Luke goes up to him, placing a hand on his back, "Don't worry Soryu, it'll take time but Sexy Bones remember you again"
"No, she won't," Soryu replies, "And it'll be better for her this way"
He concludes in his mind - this is for the best. It's his fault [Name]'s in this situation. This is his chance to put distance between them, so that [Name] won't ever face this danger ever again.
"What do you mean?" Baba asks, surprised at the words coming out of Soryu's mouth.
"I couldn't protect her," Soryu reminds them, shaking his head, "This is why she's like this in the first place. But now, it's a chance for me to let her go so I won't put her in danger again"
"So, you're not even going to try and make Sexy Bones remember? Remember you?" Luke asks, he's angry. Luke can't believe that Soryu Oh is acting so cowardly, "Is that really what you want?"
Of course it's not what I want.
Soryu lets out a pained sigh, "There's no telling if she'll get caught up in this mess again. Even if she does remember me, she might get hurt again - maybe even die"
His hand unconsciously reaches for the ring hidden in his pocket.
"It's for the best"
"Sounds like you're running away," Eisuke narrows his eyes at the mafia boss.
Say what you must.
If this is the only way I can protect her...
"I won't put her through that again"
... So be it.
Goodbye, my love.

KBTBB High School Headcanons!
Tumblr media
Eisuke - I’d say Eisuke probably had straight A’s without trying. He was every girl's crush at school. All of the teachers loved him, giving their best reviews on report cards. Though, didn't have many friends, despite talking to a school day’s worth of people. The people he did call friends were just those he believed would benefit him in the future. You know the anime, “Haven’t you heard? I’m Sakamoto” basically, he’s a kid who’s perfect. Always ten steps ahead, girls love him, guys respect him, teachers admire his grades, that type of thing. That’s Eisuke. He avoids conflict and is always a step ahead. Pop quiz? He knew about it a week before.
Tumblr media
Soryu - When you first see him you think he’s a bully, which is attractive in a way. Turns out he’s just a quiet kid, though there’s definitely an abnormal strength about him. The person everyone fights to get on their team during gym class. Decent grades, probably would get a B in math if it weren’t for the teacher being scared of him. I can imagine him holding a lot of pain in, especially with his home life. Unapproachable, to say the least. Only has one or two friends at most but keeps everyone at arm's length. He’s, surprisingly, not the fighting type however I can see him getting into one fight if he saw a girl being bullied.
Tumblr media
Shuichi - Him and Eisuke are constantly battling for top marks. Everytime one gets an A- the other mocks them for the entire week. Unlike Eisuke, Shuichi actually studies. Some could argue he doesn’t need too, but still does. His desk is always clean, and his notes are perfect. The teachers always entrust responsibilities to him. They even joke about having him as the principal when he’s older. Probably the type of kid that puts a lot of pressure on himself. That, and he just grew up having high expectations set on him. Doesn’t date. At all. He denies every girl that tries. Has been labeled as an “impossible catch”. Believes studies comes first and would break his concentration.
Tumblr media
Ota - Ota is the popular kid. Everyone’s friends with him. He’s always hanging out with someone. One day it’s the drama club, the next it’s the art club. Did I mention the art teacher loves him? He doesn’t do the best academically, but his art teacher is so impressed, she offers to write a college recommendation letter. Again, everyone loves him. He’s the type of person a fight would break out over in the cafeteria, because everyone wants him at their table. Between him and Eisuke, the girls can’t decide who they want to date first.
Tumblr media
Baba - Baba is the playboy all the girls warn each other about. At last, between his dashing smile and adoring personality, almost every girl has fallen for him once. People probably think he rides a motorcycle. He doesn’t, still, he gives off friends to lovers vibes. Despite his efforts, he always gets dumped due to his flirtatious nature. If anyone were to get pregnant during high school, the chances of him being the dad are 9/10. Quite responsible though. Takes accountability and helps his girlfriend through it. Supports her decision and promises to marry her, if that’s what she wants.
Tumblr media
Mamoru - Mamoru is the kid who barely anyone knows. He sits next to you yet, if someone asked, you’d deny that he was in your class. He’s either not in class or sleeping/barely paying attention. They call him “Big Bromoru” because he acts like everyone’s big brother. “Shouldn’t you be doin your homework instead of talkin in the halls, eh?” Literally to random people in the hallway. Though, for some reason, it makes him admirable. No one dares say anything rude back, knowing they’d have the whole school as a target. He’s respected by all the kids there, even if he isn’t very noticeable.

how many shots it would take me to sleep with each bidder
eisuke: (4) would need.. just a few shots to be able to deal with his bullshit long enough to sleep with him but it would most definitely be worth it.
soryu: (3) confidence shots. i would let this man do anything to me.
baba: (1) literally dont need to take a shot before doing this lovely man but i just feel like taking a shot for it.
ota: (7) is he handsome? yes. is he also annoying? yes. i would not be able to put up with his koro thing unless i had a hefty amount of alcohol in my system.
mamoru: (2) i'd jump this man's bones the second i had the chance. i think two shots would be the perfect amount to be just a little tipsy to put up with him but LORD i love this man.
hikaru: (3) listen, i know this man is all shy but i feel like he is a freak in the sheets and i am down to experience that. i'd need a few shots to not be all shy and awkward myself.

KBTBB OC Headcanon: When They Make Her Mad
Eisuke
HYSTERICAL
He’s dead
If it wasn’t for the fact Soryu was holding her back she’d be breaking his bones rn
He probably said something sexist or did something wrong to the MC
She’d find out somehow cuz she’s always observing
Starts sharpening knives to calm down but all she can think about is throwing them at this bitch-
Decides to get some space so she doesn’t end up murdering her boyfriend’s best friend
Soryu makes him apologize to her (well he kinds does)
She accepts the apology for now, but probably does some kind of prank to get revenge
Soryu
She RARELY gets mad at him
But in these rare instances, she just gives him the silent treatment
Back turned and arms crossed
He’s desperately trying to get her to talk
Gives up then leaves to give her space
Talks to the guys about so they give some advice
Horrible, horrible advice
He ends up just buying her some cake because he knows her sweet tooth
Comes back home and sees her just watching TV
Covers her eyes only to uncover them to show her the treat he bought her
She turns to him and kisses his cheek
They both apologize to each other and cuddle
Baba
It’s hard to imagine what he would do to make her mad
Probably broke or stole something of hers or her sisters
Once again, she finds out somehow (Ota-)
She scolds him like a child
He apologizes since it was a mistake (broke into the wrong house)
She decides to believe him and let him off with a warning
Still makes him pay $
Ota
He’s annoying to her in general
ANYTHING could push her to the limit, depending on her mood
He probably compared her to a dog or insulted her some way
She smiles suspiciously and gets up and leaves
Texts Ota to come outside to see her for a “special surprise”
He heads to the entrance and BEHOLD
She has a big dog ready to chase his ass
Makes him apologize
Still lets the dog go as it attacks him with slobbering licks
He definitely learns his lesson
Mamoru
She is a very organized person, so his messy tendencies tend to annoy her
Tries to force him to clean up
He doesn’t do it cuz he’s lazy
She comes back to see the mess still there
Turns petty and decides to take matters in her own hands
After a long nap Mamoru wakes up and screams unexpectedly
His room is FILLED with garbage
OC is sitting in the penthouse laughing about his reaction
He decides to keep his messes in his room from now on
——————————————————————————
Author’s Note: I came up with this idea out of nowhere, and since I’m struggling in college why not just make some short headcanons? If you made it this far, thank you for reading! If you have any kind of suggestions, feel free to tell me!

She Should Be With Me
Hey Hey! 😋 So I thought I would do a set of stories, that are all based on the same beginning for each of the KBTBB guys.
Honestly, not 100% sure how or if it will work out exactly right, but it was a random thought I had the other day, WHILE I still um and ah about whether to post the longer fic I wrote recently...😂🤣
As always, I'm honestly just posting these on here as a place for me to keep them, and if anyone see's them and enjoys them too then that's a bonus!😊❤️
So the idea for these stories is...
MC works at the hotel and has caught the attention of the bidder's. Each story has the KBTBB guy having already fallen for MC, however, she is already in a relationship with someone else. That is, until, for whatever reason (will be different in each of the stories), MC and her boyfriend break up. The question is, is it a normal break up? Did their romance just fizzle out, or was there deeper feelings involved?
So... this post is the Prologue to the stories. I'm then going to do a second post with the first of the stories. My plan is to post one a week, but who knows! 😋

Stretching out in their small, cosy double bed, MC smiled as her arm bumped into the man sleeping beside her. Rolling over, she watched as her loving boyfriend slept peacefully, unaware of her admiring gaze. It was a blissful happiness.
Planting a soft kiss to his cheek, MC got out of bed. She headed into the kitchen, inside their small apartment building, and set out making breakfast. Freshly cut fruit platers, eggs, bacon and sausages were laid out onto the small dining table. Finally, she brewed some freshly ground coffee beans, a purchase she had made to celebrate their first morning together after moving into their new home.
MC was remembering how her boyfriend had asked her to move in with him on their 3rd anniversary. She had met her boyfriend when he trained her as a new recruit at the Tres Spades hotel when she was just 18. They had become fast friends and were soon spending a lot of time together. MC was 21 when her boyfriend finally plucked up the courage to ask her out on an actual date… and the rest was history.
A buzzing from MC’s phone drew her back from her reminiscing. She had received an email from Kenzaki, the manager at the hotel. He requested her presence for an important meeting… Immediately.
Hurrying to get read, MC left a note with the breakfast and coffee for her lover and headed out of their home. Rushing to get to the hotel for this very important meeting.
20 minutes later and MC was hurrying along the boardwalk by the hotel. Almost there! As she was running, in her haste, she bumped into someone.
“Woah! Watch where ya goin’ kid!” the man she had just bumped into shouted after her.
“Sorry Sir!” Waving an apologetic hand behind her, she kept running, not once looking behind her to see who she had run into.
The man chuckled. She never changes, he thought, a kind look in his eyes as he watched her continue her journey to the hotel.
As she continued running two more men called out after her in surprise.
“Hey pretty lady!”
“Koro? What’s the rush?”
Continuing to run, MC quickly waved and shouted back,
“Sorry Guys, can’t stop to play with you today, I’m late for my meeting!” With that as her reply, she continued on her way.
The men watched on, amused looks on their faces. That’s our MC, they both thought gazing kindly after her.
She was almost at the meeting room when someone grabbed her arm. Shocked, MC turned and looked at the man who held onto her arm. Cold eyes, melted into a warmth as his features softened.
“Come on, MC, you know you shouldn’t be running through the hotel!” the man slowly let go of her arm.
“Ahh sorry sorry! I know! I’m late so I’ll chat to you later, and I promise I’ll really mean my apology then!” Once again MC began to run to her meeting.
The man sighed exasperatedly watching the young woman take off running once again despite his warning. Yet he couldn’t fight the chuckle and slight smile from coming out as he watched her go, with a gentleness to his harsh eyes.
Finally, finally she was at her meeting. Panting, MC burst through the door and attempted to calm her breathing.
“You’re late, MC.” The manager spoke.
“I’m sorry Sir” MC responded, having gotten her breathing settled.
“Anyway, let me explain why you are here. You have a new role here at the hotel. You are going to be working in the penthouse from now on, in addition to your other duties. This is a big step up, MC. You were requested by the owner himself for this role. Keep doing us proud”
“Th-thank you Sir” MC replied happily. A promotion?! Her life was going brilliantly. She was ecstatic. Kenzaki handed her the penthouse pager and key card and sent her on her way.
She rode in the elevator up to the top floor. Stepping off the elevator she entered the penthouse lounge. There sat the owner. He noticed as MC entered and levelled her with a cool glare.
“You’re late” He moaned. MC straightened up and then bowed, apologetically. “Coffee.”
He coolly demanded, and MC immediately set about readying his drink for him.
Handing him the mug of freshly grounded coffee. MC made it exactly to his liking, lots of milk and sugar. She saw as his features melted with that first sip, allowing him to relax.
“You always make the perfect cup of coffee” He praised.
“Thank you, Mr Ichinomiya.” MC replied, meeting his gaze.
“How many times do I have to tell you, its Eisuke.” He complained at the distance referring to him so formally seemed to put between them.
“B-but I’m working” MC tried to reason. But Eisuke wasn’t having any of it.
“It’s fine… if it’s you.” He mumbled the final part. MC was about to ask him to repeat what he had said but the lounge door opened up and the other men she had spoken to earlier walked in. Soryu, who had told her to stop running, Ota and Baba who spoke to her outside the hotel, and Mamoru who she had bumped into on the boardwalk.
“Whatcha doin’ here kid?” Mamoru asked, exhaling on a cigarette.
“Oh, I just got promoted to the penthouse! Apparently Eisuke asked for me in particular?” MC replied, looking at Eisuke for confirmation.
“We needed a maid for here. MC gets on with all of us, and so it was easier to have someone we could trust than just anyone” Eisuke responded, brushing the promotion off slightly.
“Well, I best get started!” MC smiled, but she was stopped by the sound of her phone buzzing. Reading the message, she smiled.
“Who was that?” Eisuke asked.
“That? Oh it was Mason, thanking me for the breakfast I made”.
At the sound of his name, all the others face’s hardened and silence followed.
“Oh, you made him breakfast, guess that is why you were running late this morning instead of coming from the dorms!” Ota spoke casually.
“Oh um, not exactly.” MC replied, quietly, unsure of what to say.
“What do you mean ‘not exactly’?” Soryu asked. The others looking more interested now, too.
“Oh, well, you see… I no longer live in the dorms… Mason asked me to move in with him, and I said yes.”
“WHAT!?!” The bidders all exclaimed at once. Surprised at what they had just heard.
Yet none were as surprised as him. He felt his heart rate spike. His stomach dropped. Hurt at this progression. Jealous that rather than coming home to him, she would return there to Mason. All those secret looks they had shared. Secret smiles, longing gazes. He was sure it hadn’t just been him feeling those things. But what could he do? He wasn’t a child, he couldn’t just throw a tantrum.
All he knew was he would do something. Anything. Anything for her to fall in love with him and forget about her boyfriend.

a/n: thank you for your request! i know you asked for a headcanon, but it just didn’t work out so here are some one-shots instead. i’m not the best writer, but i hope this fulfills your angsty needs. btw, i saw your second ask, but when writing this, i realized that the dialogue you asked me to include just didn’t fit in some of these scenarios, so i cut them out. i hope you’ll forgive me. enjoy!
EISUKE ICHINOMIYA
it was a warm fall evening, eisuke was drinking his evening coffee while mc was cooking supper. for the past week, mc had been unusually distant towards eisuke, she’d tense up whenever he leaned in to kiss her, pull her hand away anxiously whenever he went to take it, heck she wouldn’t even face him after they made love. of course, eisuke was hurt and annoyed by her obvious coldness, but he’d never let her know that. he wished she’d talk to him if she was going through something. what was she hiding from him? she couldn’t be cheating, couldn’t she? the past couple of days had been extremely hectic for the couple and it was their first time being alone together, so eisuke decided to take the opportunity to ask mc about her behavior. when she walked over towards the table and placed their plates on the wooden surface, a frustrated eisuke opened his mouth, however mc beat him to the chase.
“eisuke, i need to talk to you.” mc said, her tone sincere and somber.
“i need to talk to you too.” he said. “why have you been ignoring me these past few days? haven’t i told you before? that i despise being ignored? i’ve been working hard, you know? and there’s nothing i hate more than coming home after a busy day at work than-“
“eisuke, stop!” mc called out, interrupting the ceo’s tangent. eisuke fell silent. crossing his arms, he leaned back against his seat. he waited for her explanation.
“you better have a stellar excuse, or i’ll have to punish you later.” he smirked.
mc took a deep yet shaky breath. she said, “eisuke… i have leukemia.”
silence.
the ceo froze, rendered speechless. he wondered if he was stuck in a horrible nightmare, and if he was, he wondered why he hadn’t worked up yet.
mc broke down, cradling her face in her hands, her tiny body shaking as she spoke, “please, say something.”
as she sobbed, eisuke silently rose from his seat. he made his way towards his girlfriend and held her close in his arms, gently squeezing her trembling figure.
in a low voice, he said, “don’t worry, we’ll- we’ll get through this together, i promise. you’re not leaving me, not today, not tomorrow, not in a year, never.”
“but eisuke-“
“i will find a cure for you. just wait.”
weeks past and eisuke had spent his days tirelessly researching a cure for mc. no matter what her, her doctor, luke or any other doctor told him, he kept looking — looking for a doctor that would cure his beloved — but to no avail. weeks soon turned to months, and before he knew it, he was sitting by her death bed.
“eisuke…” mc whispered gently, delicately caressing the billionaire’s hair, as he rested his head on her lap.
eisuke couldn’t bear to look her in the eyes, he was so deeply ashamed of himself — ashamed of the fact that no matter how hard he worked, he couldn’t solve the only problem that ever truly mattered — he couldn’t save the love of his life.
eisuke squeezed her blanket harder, nuzzling his face in the soft fabric.
“eisuke,” mc breathed, “look at me.”
after a few moments of silence, eisuke finally turned his gaze towards mc. when he did, he instantly regretted it, she looked so weak, so fragile, it was obvious she was in excruciating pain and he hated how he couldn’t just take it away or push it down with a designer purse or a fancy car.
“it’s not your fault, okay? please, don’t-“ she coughed. “don’t blame yourself. i couldn’t bear to see you in pain, i couldn’t bear my last memory of you being seeing you hurt.”
eisuke glanced up at her with pleading eyes, as though begging her not to go. he squeezed her hand. “i don’t want you to leave me.”
“i’m not, i never will. i’ll always be with you, eisuke. maybe not in bone and flesh, but i promise i’ll always be looking over you, from up there.”
eisuke didn’t believe in an “up there”, he didn’t believe in god. but, in that moment, his beliefs began to waver. the words mc spoke gave him strength, hope. “you’ll save a place for me up there, right? besides you?”
she nodded. “i will. i’ll even save you a throne if you ask politely.”
eisuke chuckled, shaking his head. “you always manage to make me smile.”
“i could say the same for you.” she smiled weakly at him. “thank you, for… giving me happiness.”
“mc…”
she kissed him on the forehead. “goodbye, eisuke. i love you.”
“no…” he breathed.
after those words escaped her lips, she slowly closed her eyes, her body falling limp and lifeless. eisuke heard the monitor slowing down, before emitting an endless beeping sound. his heart sank.
“no… NO!” eisuke shouted. “no, please, please, please, no, no, no, don’t leave me. mc, no, please wake up. baby, baby, please don’t leave me! i don’t want to be alone again, please- I NEED A DOCTOR IN HERE, NOW!”
as eisuke kept screaming, pleading for mc to wake up, the health professionals rushed into the once silent room. security had to physically pull the distressed hotel tycoon away from mc’s body, dragging him out into the hallways. once outside, he fell to his knees, bursting into tears on the floor of the hospital. he knew it was the end.
SORYU OH
it was a peaceful sunday afternoon. soryu was reading his detective novel in the living room while waiting for mc to come home. the couple had the day off that day, and since mc hadn’t been feeling good, she decided to go in for a checkup that day. soryu insisted on taking her, but she refused profusely. unbeknownst to him, she already knew what was coming. there was a history of cancer in her family, and she knew that nothing good would come out of that trip to the hospital.
soon, the mobster heard the keys clinking and the front door of the penthouse creak open. he jumped out of his seat and turned to face his girlfriend.
“hey, how did it go?” he asked.
mc glanced down somberly, her eyes full of tears. deeply concerned, soryu rushed towards her, wrapping his big arms around her tiny body.
“shh, hey, what’s wrong?”
“soryu, i-i-“
he rubbed her back soothingly. “shh, take your time, take you time…”
“soryu, i- i have leukemia.” she whispered.
“you, what?” he questioned in disbelief. her voice was so soft, he was sure he had misheard her, at least, he hoped he had misheard her.
with trembling hands, she handed him the hospital documents confirming her diagnosis. “i have leukemia, it’s a form of cancer. i- i don’t have much longer to live.”
soryu took the documents from her and read them over in disbelief. in that moment, he felt as though he wasn’t in his own body anymore, as though the word had stopped revolving. “no, no… this can’t be real…” he muttered, mostly to himself.”
she cried, wrapping her arms around herself. “i’m so sorry…”
he dropped the documents and wrapped his arms around her again. “no, no, don’t apologize. this isn’t your fault. there’s nothing to apologize for.”
“there is! there’s so much we haven’t been able to experience together, so much you had planned for us, so much we haven’t seen yet, but i-i-“ she sobbed. “i ruined it all, god i’m the worst.”
he squeezed her a little bit tighter, trying his best to hold his own tears back. “you’re the strongest woman i’ve ever met, how could you be ‘the worst’?” he pulled away from her, cupping her face with his large warm hands. “i know this situation isn’t ideal, i don’t mind experiencing this pain if it means being with you the whole way. i wish things had turned out different, i do, but… i’d rather lose you prematurely than spend a lifetime never meeting you… i love you, more than you could ever imagine.”
“and i love you, soryu.” she whispered, wrapping her arms around him.
“i promise to never leave your side. i’ll be with you ever step of the way. we can get through this, together.”
soryu kept his promise. as the months passed, he stayed with mc every step of the way. he watched her as she went through her extensive chemotherapy sessions, as she grew violently ill, as she lost her hair and as she eventually became bed bound… he felt more pain through those few month than he had in his entire life. but loyal to his word, he stayed with her, knowing that as long as she was alive, there was no one other than her that he’d rather be with.
soon came the day where he sat besides mc as she laid on her deathbed. soryu held her frail, cold hand, as he watched her slowly slip away. he had been bracing himself for this day since the day she told him about her diagnosis, but nothing could prepare him for the overwhelming grief he felt in that moment. as a mobster, he had lost many of his own in his lifetime, but this, this was different. he was losing the love of his life, someone he could never replace nor forget.
coughing weakly, mc said, “soryu, i-it hurts.”
“shh, it’s okay.” soryu soothingly petted her head. “you’ll be okay, the pain will end soon.”
“but-“ crying quietly, mc gently grabbed soryu’s wrist, the one above her head. she gazed at him with pleading eyes. “i don’t want to leave you.”
when those words escaped her lips, the mob boss broke down. the tears he’d held back all of this time flowing down his cheeks. mc was taken aback, she had never seen him so weak, so hurt. he had been so strong the last few months, keeping a straight face at every doctor’s appointment, giving her the utmost care and attention when she needed it most. but now, it was like that shield he’d held up all this time finally fell apart. soryu was broken, and she felt awful knowing she was the cause of that. she caressed his jet black locks, in an attempt to comfort him.
he trembled as he spoke, “i don’t want to leave you either, mc. i don’t ever want to leave you, but you’re in pain, and if this is what it takes for you not to hurt anymore… i- i’m okay with that.”
mc brought his hand over her cold lips, pressing a gentle kiss on his knuckle. “i love you, soryu.”
“i love you, mc. more than life itself.” he smiled through the tears.
she sighed quietly. “although this, this situation i got myself into — you know with you buying me off of the black market — isn’t ideal, i just want to let you know that i- i wouldn’t change a thing. if whoever or whatever is up there wanted me to relieve this whole ordeal to live a life with you again, i’d do it in a heartbeat.” she laughed. “even when i was in excruciating pain, going through these crazy treatments and stuff, you made it all okay. you made me feel as though everything would be just fine, even when they weren’t.”
“mc…”
“thank you, soryu, for everything.”
soryu smiled softly, before leaning over and pressing a gentle kiss onto mc’s lips. “until we meet again, my mafia princess.”
“until then, my mafia king.”
MITSUNARI BABA
“princess, i’m home~” the thief chirped quietly as he walked into their shared penthouse. it was only three in the morning, and he knew mc would probably be asleep at this time, so he didn’t want to wake her up. but to his surprise, he could hear some noise coming from the master bedroom. they sounded like sniffles, like somebody was crying. curious and concerned, mitsunari decided to go investigate.
he walked towards the bedroom. there, he gently pushed the door open, emitting a small squeaking sound. mc jumped slightly.
“baba!” she said, quickly wiping away her tears. by the look of her swollen face, mitsunari could tell that she had been crying all night. “w-welcome home…”
“princess… what are you doing up at this time?” he asked worryingly. “why are you crying?”
“c-crying? i-i’m not crying!” she turned to the clock. “what time is it? baba, you should really go get ready for bed, it’s late, i-“
mitsunari walked towards their shared bed, sitting at the foot of it. he places a hand on her shin. “princess, what happened? did someone hurt you?”
“no, i’m fine, i- there was just something in my eye…” she assured, her voice shaking.
“princess…” he scurried closer to her. “you know i hate it when you lie to me… please, tell me the truth, what’s wrong? we told each other we wouldn’t hide secrets from each other, didn’t we?”
mc bursted into tears. mitsunari pulled her close, letting her rest her head on his chest. he soothingly caressed her hair as he gently shushed her. “there, there, it’s okay. i’m here now…”
“i’m so scared, baba…”
“why? what happened? you’re not pregnant, are you?”
“n-no…” she pulled away before looking him in the eye. “baba… i have leukemia, cancer.”
the thief froze, staring down at her with big eyes. questions rushed through his mind, when did this happen? how long has she been hiding her diagnosis from him? why did she hide her diagnosis from him? how much longer did she have to live? what about their future? do they even have one together? there was so much he wanted to ask her, but words wouldn’t escape his lips.
“what…” he breathed.
“i’m so sorry.” she sobbed. “i was so afraid, i didn’t know how to tell you, i- i-“
he squeezed her tighter. “it’s okay, angel, it’s okay…”
“i don’t want to leave you, baba.”
“you never will, baby.”
he pulled away from her, gently whipping away her tears with his thumb as he cupped her face with his big warm hands.
“no matter what happens to us, i’ll always carry you with me.” he gently took mc’s hand, placing it over his chest. “right here.”
“baba…” she giggles quietly. “your heart is on your left side.”
“oh!” mitsunari quickly shift her hands over to the left side of his chest. “i’m sorry, i guess i still can’t distinguish my left and my right when i’m with you, you make me so nervous.”
“i can tell.” mc laughs. “your heart is beating so fast.”
mitsunari smiles. glancing down at the pocket of his suit jacket, he takes out a beautiful emerald necklace.
“wow, it’s beautiful… did you steal that today?”
he nodded. “i did, it was supposed to go up for auction, but…” he reaches around her neck, clasping the necklace over the nape of her neck. he took a deep breath. “mc…”
she glanced up at him nervously. mitsunari hardly ever called her by her first name, and hearing it leave his lips snapped her back to reality. “y-yes?”
mitsunari chuckles. “i know this isn’t conventional per say, but…” he brings her hand to his lips, kissing her ring finger. “princess, will you marry me?”
mc’s jaw dropped. “w-what?”
“i want you to marry me, mc. i want to call you my wife before it’s too late. whether we live three days or three decades of wedded bliss, i want to marry you.”
tears streamed down mc’s cheeks. she placed a hand over her mouth. “are you serious?”
“never been more serious in my life, baby.” he smiled.
“then, yes! YES!” she threw her arms around him, crying tears of joy into his neck. “of course i’ll marry you, i love you so much, baba.”
he chuckled. “and i love you princess.” he kissed her cheek.
they were married a few short weeks later. it was a small, intimate ceremony, with only the bidders, mc’s parents and mitsunari’s gardian in attendance. mitsunari loved everything big, elaborate, in-your-face and extravagant, in fact that’s what he had originally planned for their wedding, but he didn’t want to stress mc out or overwhelm her, not on her special day. but as mitsunari had predicted, their days of wedded bliss were very few. the cancer grew quickly, and soon, mc was too weak to leave her bed. per her request, she would die at home, with mitsunari besides her, laying on the same bed he proposed to her on.
as mc slept beneath layers upon layers of blankets, mitsunari held her hand, keeping an eye on her as she slept. the thief hadn’t slept much since she had become bed bound, only sleeping one or two hours every night. he was too busy tending to her, watching over her, making sure she was okay, making sure that no exterior factor could harm her.
luke entered the room, mitsunari turned his sunken eyes towards the doctor. “lu! how is she doing? how are her test results?”
luke shook his head. “not great, i’m afraid.” he sighed sadly. “i don’t think she has much longer left.”
“no…” mitsunari mumbled, turning his gaze towards mc. “it’s too soon… we just got married a couple weeks ago.”
luke approached the sleep deprived thief, taking a better look at his face. mitsunari’s eyes looked empty, as though the life had been sucked out of them. the hazel irises had turned muddy, and the white of his eyes were bloodshot. his complexion was pale, blueish, and his under eye circles were so bad, they even took luke aback.
“micchi, you don’t look very good.” he noted. “you should really get some rest.”
“NO!” mitsunari said. “i-i mean, no… i can’t…” he turned towards mc. “i need to stay up, to protect her.”
“micchi, there’s nothing you can-“
mitsunari raised his voice, “i don’t care! listen, i couldn’t protect her from this cancer, so the least i can do is protect her from everything else that is bad in this world!” he sighed. “don’t you get it, lu? i feel powerless, and this is the only thing i can do that’ll make me feel better.”
luke nodded. “i understand. take care, micchi.”
with that, the doctor left the room. mitsunari took a deep breath, as the door closed. he placed mc’s cold hand over his cheek, gently caressing it.
“b-baba?” mc muttered, slowly waking up.
“princess! you’re awake!”
“yeah, i’m- argh!” she hissed.
“princess! are you okay?” mitsunari panicked.
“i-i’m fine… it’s just… it hurts, baba… it hurts a lot.”
“i know, princess… but you’ll be okay, i promise…” he said, lovingly caressing her hair.
“but baba, will you?”
“huh?”
“will you be okay?” she asked.
mitsunari swallowed, momentarily stopping his movements. “i-i hope i’ll be, at least, i’ll try to be… for you.”
“i hope you know that this isn’t your fault, baba. none of this is your fault. you did your best to take care of me, and for that i am grateful.” she smiled. “i love you so much, baba.”
“and i love you more, princess.” he said, before pressing a gentle kiss on her lips.
he glanced down at the matching rings on their fingers, smiling sadly.
as though she was reading his mind, she said, “i’m so happy we’re married.”
“so am i.”
“thank you, baba, for giving me everything a girl could wish for. i hope you know how happy you’ve made me.”
he smiled, salty tears rolling down his cheeks. “and thank you, for making me the happiest man on earth.”
she leaned over, kissing his cheek. “goodbye, mr. baba.”
“until we meet again, mrs. baba.”
mc smiled sadly before closing her eyes for one last time. mitsunari felt the life slip out of her body, as her hand fell limp in his. her skin soon turned as cold as the metal band on her finger, and that’s when he knew she was gone. the thief broke down, resting his forehead on his forearm as he sobbed endlessly into the bedsheets.

“i love you. that’s why i need to let you go.” - j.
Tumblr media
Strings of lights that illuminate the night sky hung decoratively from the branches of the tree. They flickered on and off every so often as the wind’s cool whisper of air tangled their way into their stillness. Magnificent..A word fit to describe the scene that laid before his eyes. The thought of Soryu setting up such a tender scene was almost laughable. After all, he was feared by mostly everyone he would encounter. Despite that, here he was. His hands fiddled with the cuffs of his coat as he shifted them around his skin to present himself in a more attractive attire. Was it nerves that kept him so jittery? Or maybe, fear?
“It’s not like you to fidget like that…” Her benevolent voice barely reached the depths of his ears. In an instant, Soryu’s eyes shot up from the ground that was overgrown by nature’s own creatures of green. There she was. Standing right in front of him.
Her gown was adorned with gorgeous jewels that twinkled in the light’s reflection. The eyes he longed to see now glancing right into his. Was..Was this real? He prayed to any higher being that the figure he saw was not just a figment fabricated by his imagination.
“I’m not fidgeting..” He said at last, cleaning up his posture as he started to walk over to her.
“Really?” She said with a small grin, “Well. I’ll take your word for it.” Her eyes followed his stiff movements that led him to her. It wasn’t everyday that she got to see Soryu act in such an adorable manner. Cheeks flushed, hands sweaty. Cutie was the word that bubbled in her mind as Soryu extended his hands towards her. A shy smile spread across his face.
“Will you dance with me?” Soryu’s voice cracked the slightest bit as he offered the dance to her.
“..Yes..” She whispered in response. His hand that was controlled by his nerves now soothed from her touch. How could she relax every terror in his body with just the sensation of her hands? A wonder he never wished to uncover.
Soryu led her body into the center of the starry night. Like before, the lights twinkled in the sky with the same scintillated glow as before. This time however, with her standing right in front of him, it seemed as if they had grown luster despite their brilliance before. The radiance of her presence seemed to outshine any form of forged or celestial gleam.
“You’re beautiful..” His breathy words slipped from his tongue as he gawked in awe of her beauty.
“I- um…” Her head rapidly ducked onto a lower level as she tried to shun her garnet colored cheeks. “T-Thank you..”
The roles that started at the beginning of the night seemed to turn around. Now, she was the one squirming with nerves while Soryu looked at her with doting eyes. This was all his. Every single part of her was.
“Soryu, I-“
Before her words could form, Soryu slipped his hands to her waist, seizing them with a firm grasp and driving her closer to him. The ache to touch her dominated any restrain he had left. Who could blame him? Shocked she winced a bit, securing her distance with her arms locked in front of her. But, his grip that cradled her so securely freed her arms from the chains of fear. This is the man you love..Enjoy this moment. Don’t pull away.
“...I’m sorry, I should-“
“No..” Arms that neglected their close distance now embraced around Soryu’s neck, drawing him closer. She didn’t want to let him go.. Not now. Not ever. “You said you would dance with me. Don’t break that promise..”
His hands that terminated further movement to avoid offending her now enraptured her in heat again. Free fingers that belonged to him slid from the edge of her shoulder and traced her smooth skin. It traveling lower into her palm. Soon, both of their fingers interlocked with each other and shut tightly. The undeniable warmth that radiated through both their bodies appeared to halt the time that surrounded them. In unison, they found a rhythm to match the wind’s gentle chime. Slowly. Slowly they rocked to and fro. This moment was the only thing he had ever wished for. To be with someone he loved. To feel their heartbeat through their chest. To know that someone else in this world loved him.. It’s all a man could ever want.
“So no music?” As in response to her question, the wind’s melody surged. Blowing stronger notes to fiddle with the strands of her hair.
“We can make our own..” His hushed rasp of a voice tickled with the lobe of her ear. Music wasn’t something he thought he would need. How could he design his own? Silence escorted his declaration, the sounds of nature’s creatures being the accompaniment. Abstract concepts swirled in his mind..
“Wise men say… Only fools rush in.”
“Pfft.” A petite but audible giggle rose within her throat.
“What?” Soryu could sense his cheeks sprouting a reddish hue.
“Is that our music?”
“You don’t like it?”
“No! No! I do- Please! Keep going.” She didn’t want his serenade to terminate. The lyrics when stood by themself were heavenly, enunciating raw emotions that dwele deep into the perforation of her heart. With his voice? Oh my god, his voice. It coaxed her ear and transmitted ecstasy throughout every fiber of her being.
“But I can’t help.. Falling in love..with..You..”
Every poetic line symbolized their love. They couldn’t help it. They couldn’t ignore the feelings that bellowed thunderously inside of their hearts.
“Soryu, I-“
“Shall I stay?”
“....”
“Would it be a sin?” Something was off. The melody that fashioned their bodies into one now seemed to shatter their love steadily. What? What was going on?
“Soryu..”
“But I..” Soryu’s voice that twirled every note bewitchingly before now started to show flaws, breaking the pitch with a sharp but quick curve of his tongue. The paced rocking motion now ceased into a firm halt. Soryu and her stood there, no words expelling from either of their mouths. This new feeling. A familiar despairing loneliness that flayed at his mind, his body, and his own soul. He knew what was coming. But, he didn’t want this to end.
Hugged hearts now disconnected. Thoughts of love now vanished. Both of them hung their arms and heads low against their body. Every force of nature’s beings that seemed to stop in time now entered their time space, revolving around them unlike before.
“Soryu…” How many times more could she say his name? She didn’t want to stop glimpsing into his eyes. She wanted to stay, to hold him, to let him know that she would always be there.
“I..need to go.”
4 words. It took 4 words to lacerate every blissful emotion they experienced just seconds before. Soryu’s hands that bore her body so delicately now curled against themselves. Was this really it? His fingernails sliced into his palm, blood exuding from the lesion.
“No! Stop!” She stumbled to him, reaching out as her legs unsteadily teetered from underneath. Her hands seized his and she cradled them in between hers, running her cheek along them as she wept. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. Guilt suffocated her mind as she gazed at the haunting injuries he had obtained from her own mistakes.
“Please..don’t leave me..” Soryu lifted his head from the floor. His body shook slightly as he inhaled sharp intakes of his breath. Gasping them out one after the other. Never once did he think he would weep like this. And never, EVER, did he want his beloved to cry because of him.
“I-I..” She too stuttered from her overwhelming tears, “I h-have to…” Her fingers released Soryu’s from the bondage of her grasp. No matter how much they begged, they prayed, or wept, they knew full well they couldn’t be together.
“Why?” He still wanted to hear her enchanting voice. Or maybe, he wanted her to say it. Say the true reason why they couldn’t be together. Perhaps then, he could surrender.
“..Because I’m not real, Soryu.”
There it was, the truth.
“I can't have you suffering because of your mind..because of me…” Hands that felt so warm before now captivated his cheeks in a frosty embrace. Her body..it was fading.
“I can't have you grieve my death anymore, Soryu..”
“.....I know..” His hand decorated with dried patches of blood now overlapped with hers. What was this feeling? Love? Acceptance? He couldn’t comprehend it. Despite that, he smiled tenderly at the one he loved. Let her go, Soryu.. For you. For her..
“Soryu!” She bawled, her voice now echoing as her soul faded higher into the sky. “I love you! ..So much!!”
An icy velvet texture brushed Soryu’s lips.
He shut his eyes, a single tear rolling down the apples of his cheeks.
Slowly, he opened his eyes. The strung up lights that gorgeously shimmered were now extracted and replaced with broken unlit glass.
She was gone. Truly. Gone.
Soryu’s body grew faint. His legs that lead the dance now perished deep into the forest’s soil. Whimpers. Inhales through clenched teeth. That. That was the beginning to their newborn melody. Soryu enraptured his own body with his arms and whispered,
“I couldn’t help..Falling in love with you…”
