rockstar!eddie x fem!waitress!reader (imperfect for you universe)
summary: how you two meet
author's note: an ask about how they met came earlier today and i couldn't help myself lol. not proofread sorry! also this could be read as a standalone! but u can read the og part here! hope u guys enjoy lmk what yall think xoxo
word count: 3.1k
You’ve had your fair share of jobs throughout the last few years, trying to make ends meet while also being a consumer of the various cute things you see when you’re at the mall with your friends. One time (and this may have been one of the more miserable experiences), you worked as a receptionist for an auto shop (get it now?)).
Needless to say, you were at the bottom of the hierarchy at that whole joint. When you weren’t answering calls and taking hyperspecific notes to not confuse the actual mechanics, you were practically shunned from the moment you stepped up from your seat and onto the street to eat your lunch at the bench outside. And whenever your lips did part to make even the simplest of comments, the men either laughed at you or made you feel stupid (“You guys hired me! Clearly I’m not a fucking idiot!” you dreamt of saying, but you were just never one for the dramatics and confrontation of it all).
And, the worst part, on days you couldn’t go into work, none of the other receptionists would switch with you.
(“Sorry, babe, I just can’t,” you remember Joey Warner staying after taking a drag of his cig, coughing mere seconds later from not exhaling immediately. You wanted to take the cigarette between your fingers, toss it down, and squish it with your shoes. You really needed to pick up your brother from school, and no one at the shop is ever up Joey’s ass since he’s a guy.
“Oh. It’s alright.” You curse yourself and your lack of ever wanting conflict, because you’re more than positive that this boy deserves a beating for not taking the reins for an hour just so that your poor baby brother won’t have to wait on the cold sidewalk for your mom, who is forty minutes late.
You walk back into the shop without another word.)
So. yeah, call this mechanic memory useless, but now it's clear that your jobs have been absolute dog shit in the past.
But being a waitress at Carly’s Diner, in comparison, takes the cake in the coworker camaraderie contest.
Like, now, you’re enjoying your break with Carrie, splitting half a cupcake that Jim managed to slip into your guys’ hands when he was pulling the fresh desserts from the oven. You two have turns at it, taking nimble bites from the vanilla confection and wiping rainbow sprinkles off your uniform in the process. Your nose blends in the smell of the cupcake and Carrie’s sweet perfume, leaving a little bubble where you can hardly tell what the boys in the kitchen are whipping up right now.
Judy passes through the doors in a haste, heaving before setting her eyes on you two. The notepad in her hands is crumpled up and her hair looks all over the place, eyes bewildered as she stalks towards you and Carrie, a complan ready to spill from her red lips.
“This fucking couple on table three is driving me nuts! Nuts!” She slumps her back against the wall and swipes a piece of frosting off the cupcake before sticking it in her mouth, sighing in relief.
“Hey,” Carrie swats Judy’s hand, “watch the cupcake!” She places it behind her back possessively.
Carrie is nearly six months pregnant and craving every sweet treat Jim has to offer in between tables and shifts. It’s a miracle that she let you split the dessert with her just now, “And table three, you said?”
Judy ignores her earlier words and nods. “I swear to God, I don’t understand your goddamn generation and why you heaps are so fucking rude. I can't do this.”
“Don’t group us with those weirdos,” says Carrie. “And I’d like to see them be rude to a pregnant woman. Protect this,” she hands you the cupcake carefully, looking at you in the eyes with intent, “and I mean it.”
Her voice is so determined, you decide that you don’t want your fair share of bites anymore. You nod dutifully.
“I got this, Jude.” She swipes the notepad from the older woman’s hands.
And with that, Carrie is kicking herself off the wall and out of the kitchen, into the main part of the diner. You silently pray for the couple that now has to deal with a moody and pregnant Carrie.
See? Now, this is what you mean! No mechanic or receptionist at Billy’s Auto Parts will ever be willing to face an alleged-annoying couple for their coworker. Sometimes, waitressing can take the light and happiness out of you once you’re clocked out, but at least you’re surrounded by the half-decent people in your town.
“You’re a lifesaver!” Judy calls out with a wicked laugh. “Gotta love that girl… hey can I have a bite?”
You frown, knowing you’re already unable to say no when Judy is stressed and you know for sure that the confection in your hand is enough to sweeten even the most stressed—Jim just has that magic to him. “Yeah, but don’t make the dent obvious.”
You think you’re gonna spend the rest of your break with Judy, hiding in between the two walls in the corner of the kitchen until Carrie comes back. You lick a small sprinkle off the cupcake, ready to ask the woman if her daughter won the spelling bee that she’s been freaking out over all week, when the office door swings open and Lenny’s head peeks out, eyes going to the first two waitresses that he can spot.
“Hey!” he shouts yours and Judy’s last names to steal the attention. “Can one of you guys go out and get Evan? Her daughter’s principal is on the phone.” He wipes his sweat-stained brow and doesn’t wait for a response. “Thanks,”
You and Judy look back at each other. And immediately you know that you’re not going to make Judy be the one.
“I got it,” you say with a soft smile. “... You’re gonna eat the rest of this are you?”
She laughs and swipes the cupcake. “For you, my love, I wouldn’t dream of it. Thank you.”
You blow her a kiss, already making your way to the double doors of the kitchen, straightening out your ponytail and getting your waitressing voice ready (patient and respectful, garnering the best tips you can try to get). Your eyes give one swipe across the diner, catching Carrie’s eye as she talks to the couple sitting down beneath her, holding her precious bump to make a show of it. She gives you a sly wink and you bite your lip to stop yourself from laughing.
Afternoon rush makes it hard to spot Evan at first. His smaller stature makes it even harder to spot him in the crowd, but your eyes eventually zone in on him smiling at customer that is blocked by a family getting up to leave. You smile upon finding him and make your way to the table.
As you get closer, you finally notice who Evan is speaking two, and your brows pinch quizzically. The man is hunched, looking over the menu with sunglasses adorning his face despite his table not even facing the sun. His jet black curls curve around the lines of his face, making his features harder to notice. It almost reminds you of the movies you watch late at night when you’re munching on diner leftovers on your couch, the runaway criminal stopping for a bite to eat while trying to flee the state.
“Evan,” you say softly, not wanting to draw attention to yourself but you know it's already bound to happen since you’re switching places with him. “Lenny’s got your daughter’s school on the phone. They’re asking for you.”
The man’s eyes widen. “Great,” he mutters, “What do you think it is this time?” “I hope she said ‘fuck you’ to that little pipsqueak again,” you joke, seeing the anxiety in Evan’s eyes at not knowing why he’s receiving a call during work. You remember the first time he got called to his daughter’s school from work due to her cursing out an older boy: the entire kitchen was laughing—Evan included—as they all wished him good luck with that meeting. “Can’t be worse than that.”
He sighed, turning back to the customer, “I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but I’m going to hand you off to her for a bit.” He says your name to further introduce you two. "Thank you for your patience.”
And for the first time up close, you look at the sunglassed man and smile. Perfect teeth flash at you, mildly astonishing you at how cute he looked when he did so. It’s not abnormal for you to find a customer attractive (it’s human, we’re human), but you don’t think a smile has ever made you secretly stop you from breathing for a second.
Flustered, you’re clumsy as you and Evan switch spots. He pats your shoulder one last time, muttering a thank you as he rushes to the back. You follow his movements and frown for a split second and forget your task at hand. You hope his daughter is okay. You hope the kitchen will be laughing in t-minus three minutes over the fact that little baby-Evan gained a new curse word under her belt.
“Sorry,” you say, looking back at the man. You find him looking directly at you, knowing only because of how his head is positioned. His sunglasses are too tinted to even see a little beneath. “Can I start you off with anything to drink?”
“Oh—uh, yeah,” he stammers, before clearing his throat and offering a crooked smile. “Coffee, please. Milk and two sugars.”
Your handwriting matches the pace as he speaks. You hold a smile on your face to keep up pleasantries. “And have you decided what you would like to eat?”
“Not yet,” he admits, his fingers fidgeting with the edge of the menu. “Kind of hard to focus.” There’s a pause before he adds, a little quieter, “The menu’s got a lot of… options.”
You raise an eyebrow, tucking your notepad in the small pocket of your apron. You turn your head to see if anyone else is making coffee right now. You see Carrie there, and silently celebrate when she’s already staring at you. “All good. I’ll get your coffee ready and be right back–”
“—Wait.”
Your brows pinch, confused. “Yes?” His hand rubs the back of his neck, a flicker of hesitation crossing his face. “I was just, um… wondering if you had a favorite on the menu? Like… if there’s something you always recommend. Or—” He hesitates again, “Or like your favorite?”
You don’t know why he's so flustered. You don’t know why it makes you flustered. For a beat, you just look at him. Is he… trying to flirt with me? The thought isn’t unwelcome, but you certainly weren’t expecting it, or really believing it just yet. You tilt your head, trying your best to keep your expression neutral.
“Well,” you say eventually, “We have an all day breakfast, and that’s my favorite part of the menu, and I get it a lot. It’s on the next page.”
You wait for him to turn the menu, but he continues to stare back up at you, mouth agape.
“... Is that something you’re interested in?” you ask, breaking the silence.
“Yes,” he replies immediately. And then, more composed, “Yeah, I can be in the mood for breakfast.” He finally flips the page, and his head tilts up to yours fleetingly.
“Great! Our cook, Jim, makes the best strawberry and white chocolate pancakes, so that’s what I would recommend from the breakfast menu.”
His lips tug into a small, bashful smile. “Sounds perfect. I’ll take that.”
“Perfect!” you grin, scribbling his order onto your notepad. “I’ll take this to the kitchen, and have your coffee ready soon!” You flash him one more look before retreating back towards the kitchen. You finally get to look back at Carrie, who is still looking at you, this time arms crossed.
“How was the couple?” you ask when you’re about to pass her.
“Annoyed them enough to leave.” She grabs your wrist, and you just dodge the yelp that wants to escape your lips. “Do you know who you were just talking to?”
You freeze. Her grip is firm, her expression serious enough to make you hesitate. Your gaze darts briefly toward the dining area, but you stop yourself from looking back at him. The last thing you want to do is risk being caught gawking.
“I... no?” you whisper, unsure of how to answer. But even as you say it, you feel a subtle heat creeping up your neck. The weight of eyes on your back makes your skin prickle, as if the mystery man somehow knows he’s the topic of conversation.
“Why don’t you go check the newspaper in the locker room and get back to me, yeah?” she finally lets her grip go, smirking like she knows something you don’t.
Carrie's words linger repeatedly in your brain as you hesitantly allow yourself to drop off the man’s order, and then to go see whether or not you’re serving a serial killer.
You slip the stripped paper from your notepad to Colin’s hands. “Table thirteen,” you say in passing as you make the rest of the way to the locker room, not even Judy’s cheerful wave as she smiles with a cupcake still in her hand can stop you from the mission you have decided to go on.
Upon entering the locker room, you gaze zeroes in newspaper lying flat on the bench, its closed pages teasing you with potential revelations about your current customer. You hesitantly flip it over as you come face-to-face with the front headline
HIT AND DIP: ROCKSTAR EDDIE MUNSON LEAVES IN HASTE AFTER CHICAGO SHOW
Your eyes widen as they lock onto the grainy photo accompanying the article. There’s no mistaking it. The guy at table thirteen. Eddie Munson. Rockstar. Your customer.
For the first time, you finally see his eyes. But instead of him taking his sunglasses off to reveal his brown hues, you see them straight on in the form of a camera flashing and printing onto the paper right in front of you. He looks borderline pissed as he’s gripping his guitar and shooing the paparazzi in the background away, the picture managing to catch the split-second that his eyes meet with the camera.
“He’s hot.”
You jump, clutching the newspaper to your chest as you turn to meet eyes with Judy casually leaning over your shoulder with a grin.
“Judy!” you hiss, sighing in relief.
“What?” she says plainly, “He is.”
“He is also currently Evan’s customer on table thirteen that I now have to serve.”
Judy’s pupil’s dilate. “Oh shit.”
You want to make a joking comment, calling Judy a cougar, but you’re interrupted by Carrie peeking her head in through the door. She looks down at the newspaper in your hands, and then back to your eyes. “Told you,” she says, her smirk from earlier still on her face.
Before you can respond annoyingly, Jim’s voice blares through the back. “Order up!” he shouts. “Waffles for thirteen!”
Your eyes nearly bulge out of its sockets.
“Jesus, do you ever slow down?” Carrie yells out the door.
They hear Jim’s “No!” and fan out back into the kitchen.
“Good luck, my love,” sings Judy.
“Can you ask for an autograph?” asks Carrie. She motions to her belly and gives it a soft pat. “She’ll think I’m real cool!”
“Ha, ha,” you roll your eyes, already holding the order as you kick the double doors open, passing back into the diner. You try your best to calm your heart as you pour coffee into the kettle, taking sugar from the side of the counter and putting two teaspoons into the mug. You feel eyes on you the entire time, and you don’t need to look up to know whose covered eyes they belong to.
It’s not every day that you get to serve a goddamn celebrity, so she thinks that everyone should give her a break (she’s specifically talking to her heart—it needs to stop beating so rapidly, making her brain think something is wrong).
You take a deep breath, steadying yourself as you hold the plate on one hand, and the mug on the other. “Just a customer,” you whisper under your breath, beginning to walk. “Just a ridiculously famous, incredibly good-looking customer who better leave a stunning tip.”
As you approach table thirteen, you notice that Eddie shifts slightly in his seat. One of his legs bounces under the table, and he drums his fingers lightly against the edge of the booth.
You \ set the plate and coffee down in front of him, you catch the faintest hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Waffles and coffee,” you announce, sliding the plate and mug onto the table with practiced ease. You’re proud that your voice doesn’t shake—too much, anyway.
Eddie leans back, grinning up at you. “Thanks, sweetheart.”
Your heart stops. You couldn’t help but think his eyes hold a knowing look, like he knew exactly what went down and now knows that you know exactly who he is.
“Enjoy,” you grin back.
Behind you, you hear him mutter something under his breath, followed by a quiet groan, and you can’t help but feel a small flutter in your chest that he enjoyed what you recommended to him.
The rest of the rockstar’s stay goes smoothly. You don’t intend on saying anything to give away what you know, despite it probably already being known, and you're grateful by this normalcy. You refill his coffee, make light conversation (the weather is particularly sunny and pretty today, shining through the windows and letting pretty glow spread through the diner), and take his plate when he’s wiped it clean.
You don’t even think much of his stay, mind already going back to it being a regular customer that deserves no more or less attention than anyone else is supposed to.
(Sure, his smile lingers in your mind a little longer than you’d like to admit—so what if his smile is better than any that you’ve seen, anyway?)
It isn’t until Eddie’s up and left and you trail back to the table to wipe it off, a damp rag in hand, do you notice the wad of cash left in his wake that is definitely worth more than his bill.
Your jaw drops down, staring at it and contemplating what to do with that much of an amount of money in front of you.
Next to it, a folded napkin sits.
Your mind immediately goes to an autograph; that he’s one of those celebrities, and he just couldn’t resist leaving a little something to prove of his appearance.
You’re taken back when you unfold it to see his number scribbled messily onto the fabric. Your fingers shake as you move your thumb to fully read the note that he added at the bottom,
Call me. Please. :)

The sounds of Michael Bublé’s Holly Jolly Christmas fill the air, holiday joy spurring you to open your eyes.
Christmas Day.
You can only imagine how excited the girls are right now, having been told they can’t leave their rooms until you come to get them. Suguru had also insisted on Christmas music as your alarm to ‘get you in the spirit’.
As if you weren’t already in the spirit for your first Christmas engaged to him.
His fiancé. It has such a nice ring to it that the thought alone makes you smile.
Reaching over, you shut off the familiar bells and yuletide blessings of Michael Bublé’s sultry voice, opting for the silence of the snowy morning. After all, you would be hearing the girls’ excited shrieks and joyous laughter as soon as you made your way to the tree.
Flipping to Suguru’s side, it’s as though something sharp punctures your chest.
His side of the bed is empty. Cold. This wouldn’t be unusual were it not Christmas.
With a knot in your brow, you slip your feet into your slippers at the side of your bed, throwing on a housecoat and tucking your phone in the pocket, and pad over to the girls’ rooms. The chilly air of the house that Suguru prefers so that he can cuddle you at night feels more frigid than usual as a chill runs up your spine at the sight of Nanako’s cracked door.
“Nana?” You call her name gently as you peer through the door. Like every other year, she should be awake, practically bursting at the seams with excitement to see what you and her father had gotten her, but the room is silent save for the ticking of a clock.
You purse your lips, your feet carrying you much quicker to Mimiko’s room. Although quieter, she’s usually equally as eager to get to the tree, but her room is even more deathly silent than Nanako’s.
With concern pooling in your stomach at the lack of noise in the house, you jog to the living room in search of your family. The room is still, the tree untouched as the lights sparkle red like an omen. Your heart drops into your stomach at the sight of every gift wrapped to perfection, not a single one out of place.
The girls were so excited to open them.
Pulling your phone from the pocket of your housecoat, you dial Suguru’s number. It rings five times before going to voicemail.
Hi, angel. Chances are this is you, since I don’t give my number out to anyone. Sorry I missed your call, I promise I’ll return it once I have a moment. I love you.
“Hi, Sugu. I don’t know where you and the girls are, but- um-” your voice breaks, fear gripping your words. “It’s Christmas. I hope everything is alright. I’m sure you’ll be back soon but just… let me know where you all are, okay? I love you.”
You hit the ‘end call’ button, staring down at the screen for a moment.
Maybe you should make yourself some tea while you wait. He’ll get back to you soon. Suguru’s always been good with that.
The tea does little to soothe your nerves. If anything, it sits uncomfortably in the pit of your stomach as you stare blankly at your phone screen. Your heart flutters with hope as it lights up, only to see a Merry Christmas notification from Duolingo.
That damn owl.
Picking up your phone once more, you open your texts with Nanako, your fingers flying across the keyboard.
10:02 AM You || Hey sweetheart, can you text me to let me know you, Mimi, and your dad are safe?
10:02 AM Nana || Message not sent. Tap to try again.
Your heart sinks, dread clutching your heart.
Over the years, Suguru’s put in a real effort to ensure you’re comfortable and happy. He bought a house away from the cult to keep you and his business separate, he never speaks of work even when he invites you along with his friends.
He made an effort to find you a therapist, and even attended couples’ therapy with you. He’s overly conscious of the fact that making the decision to defect from Jujutsu Tech with him is one that affected you deeply. It’s not something he ever took lightly, aiming to give you the best life.
Anything and everything for you. Whatever he could physically make happen, it would come to be. Every wish of yours at his command.
It was always at the back of your mind, the things he had done. The things you felt remorse over. The guilt and pain of failing Haibara and Nanami. The self-doubt of your decision to join Suguru all those years ago, abandoning your vow to keep humanity safe and leaving behind your friends at Jujutsu Tech. But after so many years of therapy, you’ve healed and have been able to live a fairly normal life.
You tend to a beautiful garden during the summer, opting for indoor plants during the winter. You learned to dry and make your own tea leaves, and run a small online business from the comfort of your home. It’s nothing that could pay bills, but it allows you a sense of independence while Suguru provides. You cook for your family and keep the house clean and every single night without fail, Suguru returns and envelops you in his arms, enjoying a warm dinner with his family.
This is the first time in a long time that doubt rears its ugly head in your mind, bringing back with it a familiar sensation of drowning. That feeling that something is wrong and you’re losing control.
In a flurry of unease, you pick up your phone and dial Suguru again. It rings a few times, but his voice repeats that same phrase.
Hi, angel. Chances are this is you, since I don’t give my number out to anyone. Sorry I missed your call, I promise I’ll return it once I have a moment. I love you.
“Sugu, please call me back. I’m worried about you. You never miss Christmas. I love you, baby.”
The end call button somehow feels more daunting than it ever has, as though pressing it tells the tale of an end that you aren’t ready for. You rhythmically tap your nails along the screen in thought, dialing Suguru’s number again. Five more rings, one more voicemail.
“Suguru, please call me. Nanako’s texts aren’t delivering. I’m worried about you all. I can’t find anyone. I love you.”
You chew on your lower lip, leaning over the table on your elbows as you shut your eyes. You shouldn't be worried, they’re all strong sorcerers. They can take care of themselves. Suguru will keep his girls safe, you included. He always does.
You can hardly move in the hour that follows, calling Suguru every so often and trying Nanako, but her phone goes straight to voicemail. Mimiko’s phone is still in her room, there’s no use calling it. It makes you think that maybe this is all a misunderstanding. She wouldn’t simply forget her phone.
It’s the following hour that leaves you stranded, alone on an island of terror in the deep sea of your anxious worries.
It’s around noon when Suguru’s phone stops ringing before going straight to voicemail.
Hi, angel. Chances are this is you, since I don’t give my number out to anyone. Sorry I missed your call, I promise I’ll return it once I have a moment. I love you.
Your voice is no longer even, you have to strain to feign even a semblance of control over your emotions, but you would be lying to say you aren’t a wreck. Your heart pounds each time you hear the phrase.
Hi, angel. Chances are this is you, since I don’t give my number out to anyone. Sorry I missed your call, I promise I’ll return it once I have a moment. I love you.
“Sugu, come home. Pl- please come home. I need you. I love you.” The encroaching tears are evident in your voice, choking you with each word.
You don’t know what to do, at a complete loss and alone, so painfully alone.
What are you supposed to do, call one of your non-sorcerer friends to tell them that your fiancé who barely tolerates them on a good night has gone missing? The reality is, a search party won’t help in this case. A search party can’t help you search for your criminal partner.
The loneliness had gotten easier to handle over the years, but between the doubt, fear, and concern already creeping into your heart, there’s little you can do to fend it off now. You continue to chew on your lip, gripping your phone tightly under white knuckles.
The following hour sees your tears fall. Suguru doesn’t go this long without answering. Nanako never puts her phone down.
You have to resign yourself to the knowledge that something has happened and you’re helpless in tracking them down. You haven’t used your cursed energy in so long you can hardly call yourself a sorcerer, but if ever there was a time to use it, now is the time.
Your pacing comes to a halt. When had you even started pacing? You’re not sure.
Someone with strong cursed energy is approaching your home. Suguru.
You run to the door, tears of relief falling as you practically tear the door from its hinges at the relief of seeing-
Satoru.
His expression is solemn, his hands buried deep within his pockets.
“Merry Christmas, sweets.” His voice sounds different. Deeper, forlorn. He’s traded in his dark shades for white bandages, equally snowy locks pushed out of his face. He’s filled out over the last ten years, his shoulders much broader and his chest much more pronounced. He still wears the Jujutsu Tech uniform, though it must be as a teacher now.
“Merry Christmas.” Your voice is meek, it sounds almost foreign to you. “You look good, Satoru,” you force a smile, though it’s hardly convincing given your distressed expression.
“Likewise,” he returns your smile.
“I don’t mean this in a bad way,” you begin, wiping your tears at the realization that you likely look like a mess. The most you’ve done today is make tea using your hand-dried leaves. It didn’t sit so well in your stomach though, and the remainder of the tea is still in a mug on your counter. “But, why are you here?”
Satoru shouldn’t know where you are. You suppose he does have those stupid Six Eyes, whatever that even means, and he could realistically have found you years ago if he so pleased, but he never did. For all the care that Suguru still held for Satoru, it was exactly that care that drove him to push his friend away, for their ideals and values stood too far apart. They weren’t as blurred as yours had become.
“Suguru mentioned I would find you here.”
“You spoke with him?” You perk up, your heart skipping a beat at the mere mention of his name. “Is he okay? My daughters, did you see them?”
Satoru’s tongue swipes over his lips before he presses them into a thin line. Your throat tightens, suffocating you.
“Can I come in?”
You purse your lips, slowly opening the door for Satoru, who has to duck to enter the house. He takes in your home, well organized and clean, with a cozy looking tree lit at the back. The overcast sun pours in through windows near the tree, illuminating the awaiting presents.
He makes his way inside, confidently making himself at home in typical Satoru fashion. He finds the first comfortable looking chair and plops himself down with spread legs. He hasn’t changed one bit. You follow after him, standing at the edge of the living space.
“You’ve got a nice home,” he comments, punctuating the phrase with your name.
“Thanks.” Your voice is barely above a whisper, fear shaking your vocals as you push out the question you’re dreading. “Where’s Suguru?”
Satoru doesn’t move. You can’t read his expression under the bandages. You think you prefer the sunglasses to the makeshift blindfold, even if they made him look like an asshole.
“Have you turned on the TV at all today? Checked the news?”
Your heart drops to your stomach. A pit could open up and swallow you whole and it would be a kinder fate than whatever easy way Satoru is trying to let you down. You appreciate the way he’s gentle on your frail heart, but you wish he wouldn’t beat around the bush.
Maybe the fact that you’re aware he’s letting you down easy should be your first clue that something is wrong.
“No, I haven’t.”
He sighs deeply. This is the most serious you’ve seen him since Suguru defected. “Sit down.” It’s not a request, nor a demand, but you oblige anyway. You fear if you don’t, you’ll collapse as your legs begin to quiver under the gravity of your emotions.
Satoru turns to face you finally, pulling a strand of the bandage and allowing it to unravel so that you can see his eyes. They seem to glow even in the well-lit living area. He blinks a few times, before he seems to find his voice.
“Has he spoken to you at all about what the cult has been doing?”
You shake your head, your voice caught in your throat.
“I see.” He straightens, facing you as though he’s giving you a debrief. It almost brings you back to your high school days. “Last night, Suguru released two thousand cursed spirits in Kyoto and Shinjuku. I won’t cover the casualties given your relationship, but I need to stress that this wasn’t an act of self defense.” He pauses, searching your expression. He sounds like Yaga when he speaks like this, it makes you feel sick.
The formality of his tone drives you crazy as you take in what he’s saying, yet his words don’t feel like they’re processing. It’s as though you’re watching this conversation from outside your own body, experiencing Satoru’s presence from afar.
When you don’t reply, he continues. “He attacked the school. He attempted to kill my student.”
Contrary to his prior explanation, this one registers. “A kid? He tried to kill a…?” You trail off, trying to comprehend how your fiancé could possibly act on something like that. He has two daughters himself, how could he attack a child sorcerer? That was his original breaking point, that was what had affected him so deeply he had finally broken.
That was the reason you had two adopted daughters at such a young age.
“I don’t… I don’t understand.” You shake your head, tears freely falling although you’re numb to the warmth of the salty liquid falling down your face.
Satoru frowns, clasping his hands together. “He went down a path that there was no coming back from.” He’s beating around the bush still, searching for ways to help you understand your loss without directly saying it, to help you come to terms with your grief. He himself is still grappling with his own, but Satoru had ten years to heal where you didn’t.
He couldn’t deny his only friend’s final request, to seek you out. It didn’t take much. A house in the countryside, far from the cult’s quarters, it only made sense for you. Satoru was never really sure why you followed Suguru. He knows your love for him runs deep, but he also knows you have a kind heart. It didn’t shock him to hear that you had never been involved in the cult’s businesses, nor had you ever laid a hand on anyone with intent to cause harm.
You had always been the kindest of them all. Troubled, perhaps, but kind, always.
He watches as you absentmindedly fiddle with a ring on your finger. An engagement ring. Shit. He never realized. He supposes that the distant, uncomprehending look in your eyes makes all the more sense knowing that you were soon to be married.
Your silence speaks volumes, tears still trailing down your cheeks, your eyes reddened and puffy. Satoru understands your pain, even if his pain culminates in a different form. Still, the distant look in your eyes pains him.
“Still with me?” He asks, leaning forward.
“I don’t get it.” You shake your head adamantly, sniffling. “He wouldn’t attack a child sorcerer.”
Satoru nods slowly. Denial. You’re in denial, that’s understandable.
“Okkotsu, first year student. He accidentally cursed his first love and she became a special grade apparition. Suguru wanted to absorb her.”
You shake your head, brow furrowing. “He wouldn’t.” Your breathing is growing ragged and Satoru can’t bear to see you suffer this way.
Getting to his feet, he approaches slowly, taking a seat on the couch beside you. He offers a hand, thankful you take it, although your tight grip on him sends a jolt up his body. “Damn, sweets. Quite the grip,” he chuckles, a barebones attempt at comforting humor.
His joke goes over about as poorly as you would expect as reality begins to set in. You pull away from his grip, bringing your hands up to your face as you gasp into your shaky palms.
He’s gone. He’s gone and he’s not coming back. There won’t be a honeymoon in three months. There won’t be a wedding to celebrate. There won’t be a Christmas shared in the warmth of his arms.
Every last hope, dream, and tradition, shattered for a vision that you never once believed in. There wasn’t a world where Suguru succeeded, and there’s a small part of you that thought he was aware of that. A part of you that thought he only surrounded himself with people who believed in this vision simply because they shared his values and ideals.
Suguru Geto wasn’t an innocent man, but you didn’t think he was a foolish one either. You didn’t think he was one to sacrifice everything he had built for a vision that he couldn’t possibly achieve.
Strangled gasps part your lips as grief claws its way up your throat. You have to swallow down bile as you struggle to get air. Everything crashes in on you at once, pulling you underwater into a sea of what were once well-controlled and understood emotions.
If the world pities you, it shows no sign of it, letting you choke as your world splits down the middle.
Suguru was your lifevest, he kept you above water even as the tides grew and shifted. He would be there to watch over you as the ocean grew and the shore lessened. Even at your worst, he shone as a beacon to guide you back to land, to him.
Satoru pulls you into him, rubbing your back with gentle coos and shushes, but he isn’t what you need. He isn’t who you need. He doesn’t provide the calm escape from the storm that Suguru did. His warmth doesn’t feel the same. His arms enveloping you are foreign. It’s as though he’s little more than another cloud leaving your mind foggy and uncertain, lost in chaos.
Sobs repeatedly wrack your body and Satoru fears he’s losing you to grief. There was once a time that you two were close, and while he’s sure he can’t provide for you what Suguru did, he hopes as he tightens his grip around your frame that you feel that he still cares.
He never resented you for leaving with Suguru. Even as you were sentenced to death and he was told to hunt his closest friends, he never once attempted it.
The higher-ups knew. They knew he could find you. They never pushed. They feared Gojo for what he could do. What he would do if he did manage to find you both.
“I- I can’t-” you stammer out choked words, clinging to him suddenly as though your desperate gasps for air aren’t enough. They aren’t enough. You’re pale, clinging to him for purchase as you fail to catch your breath.
Everything seems to close in, your vision blurring as black closes in on all signs.
Satoru recognizes the signs that you’re losing consciousness. So choked by your own grief that your body fails you, allowing your anxiety to tear a hole through your chest as though your heartbreak wasn’t enough.
He fears there’s nothing he can do, simply holding you as your mind fails to make sense of the situation you find yourself in. He’s not sure how long he holds you before you come back to the present. He doesn’t move an inch, opting simply to be there for you. Even if no one was there for him as he wrapped his own head around Suguru’s crimes, he wouldn’t let the same be said for you.
You’ve suffered enough.
Your breathing accelerates rapidly as you blink and take in your surroundings, every limb sore to the point where you’re growing numb. Satoru may have a penchant for endless talking, but he remains silent as you come to, processing the world. All he offers is the occasional squeeze of reassurance or a quietly whispered ‘I’m here’.
Something under the tree catches your eye, a gift you don’t recognize, but Satoru doesn’t dare let you go in this state.
“Can you breathe, sweets?”
You swallow hard with a shaky inhale. “It hurts, but I can.”
“Good.”
“Wh- where are the girls?”
Satoru leans back to get a look at your face. “I don’t know. I didn’t see much of Suguru’s followers beyond Miguel.”
You cling to the hope that maybe they’re okay, but the dread in the pit of your stomach tells another story. You can’t reach Nana and Mimi left her phone here. It all has to be for a reason. This is premeditated and there was a calculated decision made not to contact you. Not to fill you in.
They’re gone, too.
Your eyes remain fixed on the new gift beneath the tree. Leaning your full body weight against Satoru, he still refuses to let go, following you to the ground by the tree as you drag him off the couch.
Placed atop the largest wrapped gift is a tiny box with a folded note attached. You don’t recognize it and it’s too nicely wrapped to be from the girls.
With a sharp intake of breath to try to regulate your emotions as you tug the note from the box, unraveling it.
Angel,
Merry Christmas. If you’re reading this, I suppose I have some explaining to do.
Suguru’s penmanship is impeccable, and tears stream down your face at the realization of exactly what you’re reading. Satoru’s grip tightens around you as he reads over your shoulder, feeling every muscle in your body tense.
I think there was always a part of you that thought more of me than what I truly am. For that, I am deeply sorry. Im beyond grateful that you accepted my proposal. You would have looked absolutely stunning standing at the end of the aisle.
But someone like you deserves more than what I can provide. It’s destroyed me, all these years, to know that you allowed me to break your spirit simply out of love. I don’t think any words could help me fix the error of my ways, but it’s one of my greatest regrets.
If you’re reading this, then the cult’s plans went sideways. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for Christmas day. You can add that to the long list of promises that have now been broken. I made many vows when I got down on one knee, but I suppose it was presumptuous of me to speak so highly of my ability to provide for you when I imagine you’re falling apart again.
Promise me something, my love. I want you to pick yourself up, and start fresh. Seek out Satoru, he’ll help you find a place to begin again.
I don’t expect it will be easy, but I know you can keep your head above water. Keep staying strong for me. You’re a diamond in the rough and no one will ever compare to the way you shine so brightly. Keep your chin up and keep going, my love.
I am so deeply sorry. I only ever wanted what was best for you.
I love you always.
Your Sugu ♡
You gasp between choked sobs, running your hand over the note. The ink is smeared in his final apology, a circular marking on the page’s corner as though he’d shared your tears when he wrote the note.
Setting it aside, your hand hesitates over the box. Satoru squeezes you gently, a reassurance that at least you aren’t alone. He might not be Suguru, but the reminder that you aren’t alone does provide some sort of comfort, regardless of it not being what you truly need right now.
Pulling the box into your hand, you chew at your lip until iron stings on your tongue, the taste bitter and miserable.
Holding your breath, you finally find the courage to tear the wrapping paper from the tiny gift. A small red velvet box sits in your hands.
One final gift from Suguru, one so cruel it could only have come from him.
Sitting within the box are two beautiful matching silver bands clearly crafted custom to suit your unique styles.
Wedding rings.
All over again, everything seems to crash in on you.

Alright, everyone!
HERE ARE THE ASKS YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
Below the cut are the asks and my answers/responses. I do apologize for not answering these individually, but some of them contain spoilers for chapter 5 content. Given the developments and reveals of the chapter, I want to let things simmer a bit before I pop off responses like normal.
If my Nonies listed below want to pop back into the ask box and let me know they got their answer, I would appreciate that, but you don't have to either (or if you have an additional question or comment, that's fine too!). I will reblog this a few times to make sure you have a higher chance of spotting it.
I numbered the Asks and put my answers in another color so you can tell things apart a bit easier. This is a trial run on answering these this way. I will also tag things for spoilers. ^_^
Anon: "There's a she-wolf in the closet" made me laugh so hard I cried sdfjglkjl I was not expecting that out of nowhere 🤣😭 the temptation to name the wolf Shakira...............immense.
I'm so glad you got that reference! My husband and I sing that song to each other with the little "awoos" and all, lol. It was too good to pass up. Fun fact, if you name her Shakira, Oswin has a unique response.
2. Anon: Hmmm. "I like the name Aster I'll probably use it again" HMMMMM hMMMMM hmmmMMMM Is this new Aster the ??? RO
Remembered that, did ya 😁 (I was quietly cackling when I wrote that for the old ask). You questioning Aster just makes me want to mess with you Nony, you can't tempt me like this!
3. Anon: Aster is so hawt, carressing our cheek w his thumb???? "i wont hurr you" pls let him be an ro bc gah damnnnn
Glad that did it for you, Anon, lol. There will be more of that in store. ^_^
4. Ravioli anon here, hope you remember me LOL I just finished reading the new chapter and I HAD A BLAST The whole gang in here now!!!!!! Aster is no longer question marks!!!! (I will admit when they were introcuded I almost, ALMOST expected their name in game to just be ???)
Hello Ravioli! Still chuckling about that I hope you know. The temptation was unreal to leave ??? in there, lol. At this point, even I know him more by that than his name!
Also to keep up with my perfect choice of names, my she-wolf is now named Der, because together we are Ravi and Der Get it, Ravi 'n Der. Consider this as a way to honor our dear grandma we were named after by our loving dads, you'll never be forgotten, you girlboss of a woman
OMG, you are killing me over here, lol. This makes me want to code something for that, lol. Just your fathers shaking their heads at your MC while still being kinda amused and weirdly proud. Grandmother Ravinder would glare at you, but smile later.
5. @origamihoshi: Screaming about the necklace Oswin gives MC, my headcanon about MC wearing the snail shell as a necklace can now be canon! and I guess more reasons for my MC to be down bad for Oswin oops. I'm loving the update! I'm so happy to finally meet Rune, I love them so much! I wanna befriend them all. and I feel like there's been a good balance to spend time with all the characters so far and that makes me really happy. 😌Also cuddling with Zahn was so sweet oh my god, I love them so much too! I got so many more questions about MC and the curse, and the mark for that matter, looking forward to when we finally get some answers.
I very, very nearly told you that when you posted your MC, I was so ecstatic. I thought if you while coding that section too. I am so glad you enjoyed the new chapter and new goodies. Lots of fun stuff to come! ^_^
6. @mutsuowo: HELP I NAMED THE SHE-WOLF ASTER BECAUSE I FIRST CALLED THE MULE YARROW AND NOW I HAVE NOT ONE, NOT TWO BUR THREE ASTER* GOING AROUND (I know one changed to Lakota but the joke that count)
Whoops! Lol Sorry my friend! I don't think any more Asters are hiding about at least. Probably….
7. @mutsuowo: I got spoiled of Aster's name by accident and even then I mistook it for being Lakota, so I thought somehow Lakota had a divorce and took the children to be an option romance with the MC. Cue to me acting like a variety game host and going "We have a cult member, a magician, childhood friends and also a wolf...what about you Aster ? What do you bring to make we choose you ?" The answer was being a DILF
Lol! Oh dear, yeah, bestie has a quarter-life crisis and leaves his wife and 4 kids to live that DILF life. Love it, this is some quality daytime TV stuff. 😆
8. Anon: Hello there! I am currently in the middle of the newest chapter, very very good work! Spoiler ahead : So MC is absorbing magic? That might actually help the theory that somehow MC is a god, demi-god, or whatever that is: cursed because they are on this plane and needing magic as a very part of their being? I can't imagine that a god wouldn't be starving for magic if deprived of it. Perhaps in GC it's not magic gods handle, but something similar? The fact that we CHOSE the mark truly makes me think that somehow we were choosing an aspect of ourselves for some reason. Not only something physical either. If not our domain, perhaps a tell of why we were cursed in the first place ? I wonder if, before the Curse manifested, MC would have been flagged as a magic being ? I don't think there was anybody that could have sussed them out back then though ? Rune is amazing, btw, big fan. Can't wait for Purple Lad to accompany us and need a bath as badly as Duri did !
Oooh, are you perhaps my Nony who sent some other theories in about this? Very juicy theory as well. Next chapter you'll learn a bit more about Hayat's curse over the gods and see if it lines up or changes your thoughts more. 😁 I'm glad you like Rune too! They are in for a new experience for sure. Even if they aren't as stuffy as other nobles, they definitely appreciate more refined things. The little town MC grew up in might be a bit of a culture shock.
9. Anon: Sooooo... I'm thinking we ARE the mad god ! A reincarnation of it at least ! Thinking about how the cult wanted us dead, I am thinking that as long as MC is alive, they can't have another incarnation of them. But What exactly was it that drove the god mad ?
Oooh! This one is juicy too! These theories are so tasty! Lots of questions with this one. And like the one above, there may be some info in chapter 6 that may just give more evidence one way or another.
10. Anon: Me on my first playthrough: oh, Oswin's pretty cute! I think I'll try romancing him first Me when I meet Zahn: oh no you can't just make me choose like that how am I supposed to do this Me when I meet Duri: are you kidding me. Ok screw it I'm romancing Duri Me when I meet Rune: FUCKAIJASJDSAAA Me when I meet ???: No reaction because I'm already combusted. I can't even anymore
Lol! I am glad and maybe just a tiny bit sorry that you're so torn, my dear. Let's find some glue and get you patched up… ^_^
11. Anon: HAVE THEORIES! NATHAN IS DURI'S UNCLE, AND ASS-TER -HE DESERVES THAT AFTER THE RING BUSINESS >:( - WAS RAISED BY THOSE ASSHOLES WHO ALMOST KIDNAPPED MC! (I am open to Asster endearing himself later, but I'm mad at him rn, how dare he hurt my already hurt, lovely, MC 😡😡😡) Anyway, your writing is impeccable as always, can't wait to (perhaps) bring Asster to his knees (with love or spite, or maybe both?? He seems like someone easy to love-hate, lol). Tysm, for God Cursed, I love it <333
Yaaass, moar theories! That's a good one too! Nathan having some secrets wouldn't be shocking either. They'd get along too… And it is totally fair for MC to be salty! And ASSter is a perfect nickname, lol. It's also fair that in chapter 6 you'll be able to (try to) get after him about it. :3
12. Anon: TW SPOILERS ''There is nothing I want more than to hear you…hear you say what you- Nothing more… But for your own sake. Y/N, I'm a monster. I have been a monster. Your heart should be free of thoughts of me until you know what haunts my sleep at night. If you can do that for me and your heart does not change, then I will hear those words and I will spend the rest of my days showing you what you mean to me.'' UUUUHHMMMMM, EXCUSE MEE?????? LIKE THIS IS THE MOST-ROMANTIC-NON-LOVE-CONFESSION I HAVE EVER HEARD??? EVEN THOUGH IT BURNS ME TO NOT KNOW WHAT AFFLICTS OSWIN, AFTER HEARING THAT I'M WILLING TO WAIT FOR HIM.
I love that you love this! I might have cried juuuust a little bit when I wrote that scene, lol (shocking, I know).
13. Anon: replayed the IF from the start for the update and gosh i felt so bad for our dear MC who has gone through SO much in a (relatively) short amount of time. and the way MC just always thinks about their fathers makes me sobbbbbb. one that always gets me is the scene where MC cried out for their fathers when they were in pain (my heart broke when they said they wanted to be held by their papa). another is in the scene with jasper and co. (‘i learned it from my fathers!’, yesss go MC!!!!). but oh, just imagining the absolute heartbreak the fathers would feel if they knew how MC cried out for them and knew about everything that MC went through, makes me tear up! MC is SO loved by their fathers and MC loves them just as much and i love that. i hope we’ll be able to give da and papa the biggest hugs when we see them again 🥹wonderful update, author! i absolutely adore the world you’ve built and the brilliant characters you’ve created (shout out to one my favs.. our new she-wolf friend <3)
I set out on this IF journey intending to be a bit hard on the MC and I think I succeeded, lol. It might be hard to believe but I really do love the MC as a character too and I feel for them. Hopefully not too hard, but they're on a journey of perseverance so I have faith in them. ^_^ That scene really tore me up too, especially thinking about how hard it would hit the dads to know their beloved kid was calling out to them. 😭 I am so glad you enjoyed the update, my dear, there will be great big dad-hugs in the future, I promise (and more than a few tears). ^_^
14. Anon: idk if it's choice or route-specific but, zahn was NOT looking good at the end of chapter 5 and i'm worried 😟
Not route-specific (unfortunately???)…they're…going through some things. 😬 (sorry in advance)
15. Anon: Hi, hi!! Dropping by to blabber about the update after i've finally had time to lose myself in it! (Oh no it got long again.) Okay, so, from the very moment i saw your intro post (over half a year ago, methinks) i decided to go for Rune's route first. I have been very patient, very faithful. And now i can finally say it was so, so worth the wait!!! they have me wrapped all around their beautiful noble finger; they're perfect, they are everything (i mean, how many people can say a literal god shows up for their birthday? yeah, thought so). I know they are no exception either and have their own share of issues, but honestly? that's even better. I wish i was kidding about the amount of times i daydream about them. Look at me now how i'm smiling like a stupid idiot. And the fact that i can make my MC an absolute shy mess around them is just so!! *chef's kiss*
"Oh no it got long again" is like the tagline for my existence, lol. I am so giddy that you adore Rune! I think they've had less traction since they weren't introduced until now, but I also believe they are just the type of person that is better experienced. I enjoy writing all of the ROs, but Rune is such a presence in my heart and I really hope that comes through.
Also, did Duri seriously rat them out like that? Umm, for science, of what nature, exactly, are the books under Runey's bed?
LOL and I'm so glad you caught that bit about their "hidden literature." Rune LOVES romance novels, including the ridiculous smutty ones even if the plot is kinda bad.
Anyway, moving on, because you fed us so well with the story once again!! Can i just say i love your brain? Can i? Is that weird? Apologies. So!
You can totally say that, lol. I appreciate that you think so, my brain frustrates me sometimes, but I like how smooth it is. Very soft.
We learned so much in this update, and yet our answers are still too far to reach--but that's the whole fun about this! I'm thinking things, i'm suspecting, but i'll hold onto my theories for now… It is indeed very fortunate that each of MC's new friends can seemingly contribute a piece to this vexing puzzle; question is, is the picture only missing the very last piece, or are all four needed for it to be complete? I'm folding my hands and patiently waiting to find out in future updates.
Oooh, you're speaking my language, Nony. There are some theories up above, maybe those will get your mind spinning too. That's a very good question though too. Eveyone seems to have something that might help MC out…so the question could be, do they go full Power Rangers and combine them to solve this problem or is one strong enough on their own? Hmmmmm? Time will tell.
One thing i will say is, more people may know about MC and their whole deal than Oswin may want to even consider. People with not the best intentions, that is.
I'm sure it's fiiiiiine. Probably just a…crazy…crazy fluke. It's fine. 😀
Speaking of, Oswin is so sweet! He cares so much i think it's rending him apart. Perhaps he should partake of Nathan's pipe every now and then. You know, for recreational purposes. Frankly i admit i don't know how mean you still can be to Oswin because every time there's a choice during his scenes i just tunnel-vision to the friendliest one there. It really makes me feel sorry for him if there are MCs out there who are still bitter about their relationship. As he was opening up about what kinds of actual horrors he witnessed and had to deal with in consequence, it really made me think MC's little group should, as a side-quest, go out and find him a therapist, because this guy *slaps him on the back* can fit so much trauma in him!
That's a good way to describe Oswin. He feels very intensely and those emotions are difficult for him to manage. I try not to be too mean to him, but I do want to try and give a decent variety of responses to the past tension for some MCs. Negativity there isn't a huge focus, so I try not to go too far down the rabbit hole with it at least, lol. A therapist is a great idea for him, for real. You cracked me up with that reference, I imagine Lakota trying to sell him to the MC, lol.
I see Zahn has entered the trenches(TM). Just after i had them repeatedly stabbed in MC's place. And just after they finally got to cuddle with MC. This is fine. Not gonna lie, for a solid second you had me believe we wouldn't see them come back from that totally not evil or at least highly doubtful church of theirs, and that we'd had to leave without them. Haha, no waay. Lunan wouldn't do that to them, right? Right? Oh thank gods. See? I was right. Anyway, it seems like their character development arc is coming up soon, so i'm keeping calm and not cracking my knuckles, not at all.
Oh yes, there will be some development soon here. Tee hee?
Duri is so fun. Their playfulness is so endearing, so much so that i find myself repeatedly swayed in my decision to have them in a (now mostly) platonic relationship with MC. Simmer down, you'll have your turn. It had me rolling how they snapped once the bandits insulted their feet lmao! Also, also, their dynamic with Rune? Mmm, so good. I love the kind of friendship that's like "yeah i picked up this weird wet dog one day and now it won't leave me be and it's annoying, but only i'm allowed to say that. here, have a treat."
I love that you love that. Writing Duri is fun and I get to break some social norms with them so it's a win-win for us all. The relation to Rune is a blast.
Moving on, Duri sniffing MC after they talked with someone they didn't know; Duri immediately leaping at the opportunity to tease a jealous MC; Duri coming to MC's rescue to put a harasser in their place--they can't keep getting away with being so charming! Oh wait, they can. Human laws don't apply to them, after all.
Duri is already so loyal. Like a pup you picked up at the shelter, the connection is pretty quick for them. Also, if you didn't know, you can also get Rune to get defensive of MC being harassed in the tavern. Currently thinking of changing the code of that, but if you choose to stay neutral or a bit distrustful of Duri, Rune will get involved instead. Both have the confidence and the power to back it up though, can't go wrong.
And Aster? Something is up with him. Big time. Bost obviously, his name. I don't know, i don't know, i'm not convinced it's a coincidence or merely "fate." I'm watching you, Aster. Okay, and yes, i see why MC might need his help, but he never once elaborated on that part where he said he needs MC for power. Sooo, naah, i'm not putting my egg in your basket, not yet. Especially!! After he so brutally demonstrated just how much of a bigger hand he has over MC. That was evil. (In a good way.) He's unhinged, and i love that in a character. I would not trust him even with a cheese grater.
That may be wisdom here for sure, lol. Aster is quite the character, as are all of them I suppose. All have secrets he especially has some serious growing to do. He'll be an interesting addition - and a very smug one at that. Maybe juuuust maybe MC can get him to feel a little remorse for being an ASSter, to quote a previous ask, lol.
I almost thought MC's group of friends were going to mistake him for the kidnapper and everyone would want to throw hands, or would at least be very leery of him, so seeing how easily he slotted in had me a little surprised (and i think he was a bit surprised himself).
That very nearly happened actually. I cut it because of chapter length, and I'm thinking I want to polish the ending for that anyway. I feel like I was burnt out while writing that and I pushed it too fast. So, we'll see what happens in future….
I really, really liked the option of having MC be scared of him after he put a cork (dart) in Jasper's mouth (throat). The head tilt afterwards? Wiping away a stray tear? "Now come sit with me on my picnic blanket designer cloak to talk about how everything is drawn to you, including me?" "I'll need to study you?" Yes, i'll take your entire stock.
I'm glad you enjoyed your dessert, Nony. ;) There will be some serious studying in the next chapter.
Oswin being extremely quiet while MC was recounting their failed abduction because he was still recovering from those 6 panic attacks he had since finding MC's room empty and with signs of struggle.
THIS absolutely. MC may get an account of the experience later.
i can't wait to see what the dads are going to say about each of MC's new friends! I can already imagine who might not entirely vibe with whom, especially if papa and da are going to be in a sour mood after they see my (feral despite being the healer of the party) MC scarred and sore despite their letters containing nothing but rainbows and sunshine (oops). MC's right, though, how are they going to house so many people lol.
This will be so much fun, especially when it comes to sleeping arrangements…A couple ROs will get themselves sorted but there's a couple that we might just get a "one bed" trope with, lol.
And last but not least, MC got the promised puppy!!! (i named her "Ginger" <33)
Oh that is such a cute name too! She is kinda the color of ginger and she's also very gentle (ginger) AND she can be very spicy if you piss her off. Very gingery.
I have been here before and gushed about your writing on multiple occasions and i don't want to repeat myself over and over, so i'll just reiterate once more that i'm constantly blown away by how real and vivid you make everything feel. You're putting things down and i'm picking them right up, thank you, thank you, yup, i'll have that as well, thank you. You're painting pictures inside my head, and they're gorgeous and vibrant and moving now--hey, how did you even get in here? I'm convinced you're a mage. MC is not the mage here (yet?), but you sure are!! It's okay, you may fess up now. As always, thank you so much for all your hard work! May your holidays be full of joy and rest! Take care <333
I am so thankful that you resonate so much with my writing, my friend. That really truly makes my heart so glad and encourages me to keep at it. I hope each chapter brings you more and more enjoyment and adventure. ^_^
16. @rhiannon02: IM SCREAMING OVER CH 5 LITERALLY SCREAMING ASTER ??? IM IM LOSING IT
Well, hang on dear, maybe I can help you find it, lol. (I heard that one in my soul) ^_^
That's all for now! ^_^

my favorite things i've made 2024
tagged by @jolapeno @almostfoxglove @morallyinept @schnarfer @iamasaddie
@kedsandtubesocks @chronically-ghosted @moonlitbirdie and @arcanefox207 ♥
alright, y'all, i can't believe this year is ending soon 🥹 as we all know, this year has had a lot of ups and downs, but i can't help but feel like pedro did when he got his sag award, y'know??
i'm so grateful for all of you, and i can't wait to see what the new year brings. new p boys, new premieres/press tours?? sounds like heaven to me ♥
now, i've been tagged to toot my own horn a little bit and i guess i can, fine :P i don't normally like to, but i've been tagged by some wonderful, lovely friends to do so
below, will be both fics and gifs i've made this year that i'm pretty proud of!
before anything, i just wanna say, i'm super fucking proud of my Offering of Frith writing challenge. y'all did such an amazing job on every single one of the fics. i worked super hard on that and it was SO fun. i'd love to do another challenge in 2025, so i may do some brainstorming ✏️👀
fics:
bloody kisses -> alright, i'm gonna be real with y'all. this is my favorite thing i've ever written. okay, maybe not ever, but it's definitely tied with itbotn. i really love how quickly and easily this universe came together for me, and the little cult following that it has makes me so happy. they've almost got a little life of their own. i really, really wanna get back to them. i've got an idea that i'd love to get down, and now that a lot of the pressures of school are a little lessened, i might make it happen soon!
into the beat of the night ch 7 - "in my side" -> this chapter didn't get as much attention as the rest of the series, and that's okay, but i'm still proud of it for stepping out of my comfort zone. it was an area i was afraid would be a little taboo (since it covers deadnaming, misgendering, and past abusive relationships) so it's a little more serious than the series tends to be. i like what it means for river and frankie's relationship and it cements how they feel about each other, y'know?
into the beat of the night ch 8 - "deeper and deeper" -> and now for something completely different lol i like this chapter because it could've only happened after the experience with river's ex. they're completely comfortable with each other now and this was the last of frankie's walls coming down. i love them ♥
gifs:
the pedro pascal fandom moodboard that i made for the friendship exchange cat and han hosted ♥ i love how that turned out because it's the exact experience i have in this fandom lol
gideon @sp00kymulderr 's birthday present ♥ i adore our little disaster bi raccoon man and i love making these silly sets like this. i also love gideon so i'm glad they were the recipient for this!
silly pedro during the gladiator 2 press ♥ again, i love making these goofier sets. they're super fun to make and the end result is always really rewarding. and maybe i just like making myself laugh LMAO
i love you guys and i hope the new year treats you all well ♥

Broken pt 2
Master List
Characters: Jensen x Reader (wife)
Warnings: fluff, angst, infertility, Endometriosis, death
A/N: Idea given to me by @cheekygirl2309. This one is a little different than what I usually write. It has angst, lots of angst to start, and infertility issues. It's going to be a short series.
Minors DNI 18+
The next morning I woke up with a text and email from Jensen with flight information. I quickly packed and headed to the airport. My flight was scheduled to leave in a few hours, but I had to get through security and check in.
I sent Jensen a text to let him know I was at the airport.
Me: I’m at the airport, waiting to board the plane. I can’t wait to see you. I love you baby.
Jensen: I can’t wait either. Y/N, I really am sorry for leaving you alone. I promise I’ll never do it again.
Me: I know baby. We both had fault in this, it’s not all on you. We will make it right. I love you, I’m about to board. I’ll see you at the airport.
Jensen: I love you too, baby. I’ll be there with bells on.
I smiled as I looked at my phone. The emotional rollercoaster of the last 24 hours has been a true test of mine and Jensen’s relationship. One we almost failed.
I sat on the plane and listened to music as we flew towards our destination. As the minutes ticked on I grew more anxious. This was the first time since our fight we would see each other.
The plane landed and I started walking towards the exit. I scanned the airport and the people standing around waiting for their loved ones, and I saw him. Jensen, my Jensen standing with a smile on his face and emerald eyes that glittered like morning dew.
My heart fluttered. In that moment, seeing him standing there waiting for me with so much love in his eyes reminded me why I fell in love with him. He was and always will be my home, the love of my life.
I smiled and ran through the crowd to his open arms. Our bodies collided as he scooped me up and held me tight. Our lips smashed onto each other and the kiss deep and needy, like it was the only thing giving us life at the moment.
Every person, every noise in the airport melted away. His arms wrapped securely around me and his lips breathing life into me, into our love.
All the pain and sorrow from the last few hours seemed to melt away. Sure, it was still there, but in that moment what really mattered was willingness to fight for us, for our marriage.
Leaving the airport hand in hand Jensen couldn’t take his eyes off of me, or me off of him. We had work to do, but at least we were together to work on it.
The next few days we settled into a routine. I would get up with Jensen, we would make breakfast together, he’d head to set and I’d either go with him or stay home, and when he got home we worked on us, on our marriage. The first night we made love after our fight we both cried. All the emotions, the pain, the hurt melted away and we fell in love all over again.
A renewed commitment to each other. We talked about having a baby, and we both agreed to let things happen naturally. Jensen also suggested while I was there we both visit a doctor to see if there’s any reason I couldn’t get pregnant.
I saw him trying, trying to fix what he, what we broke, and trying to make our dream of a family come true.
I went with Jensen to set today. Everyone was happy to see me. They said Jensen isn’t himself when I’m not around. I looked over at him and he smiled but blushed too.
“Alright guys, stop laying it on so thick. She doesn’t need to know what a sap she married.”
I giggled and touched his arm, “Oh Jensen, I already knew.” I smiled and kissed him.
Karl walked over and pulled me into a bear hug. “Glad to see ya, love. Hope you didn’t let him off the hook that easily.” I smirked, “You know I can’t resist his green eyes.”
“I know love. Glad you two are working it out. You two are good for each other and that man is head over heels in love with you.”
I smiled softly and looked over at Jensen bantering with the other cast members. I knew Karl was right. I’ve just been so wrapped up in not giving Jensen a child I lost sight of what we had. A home filled with love and joy and I have a husband who would move mountains to see me happy.
I smiled at Karl, “Thanks Karl. For everything.” He nodded, “I’ve got you love.”
I sat in a chair off to the side and watched Jensen in the scene. He was amazing in anything he did, but the way he played Soldier Boy was something profound. It’s like the character was made for him.
By the time the director called for a wrap for the day it was well past 1am and I was exhausted.
Everyone was talking about heading out to blow off some steam but Jensen was hesitant.
I touched his arm, “Jens, if I wasn’t here what would you do?” He looked at me and I could tell he was nervous.
“Babe, remember we need to talk about things. If you want to go then go. I’ll head back to the apartment and go to sleep. Please don’t stop living your life because I’m here. Baby, go. Go have fun. You deserve it.”
Jensen smiled and placed a soft kiss on my lips, “Are you sure you don’t want to come too. You know they’d love to have you.” I touched his chest, “Maybe next time.” I kissed him again.
We walked to his trailer so he could change and I grabbed my stuff. Jensen was riding with Karl and Antony, so Clif was driving me home.
I arrived at the apartment, showered, changed and crawled into bed. Sleep taking hold almost instantly.
Jensen came stumbling in about 4am. He was wasted. Karl was slightly drunk. They were trying to be quiet but they were so loud they woke me up.
“Hey Karl, I’m gonna have a baby with her.” I heard Jensen slur out as I walked down the hallway.
“That’s great mate. She’s gonna make some beautiful babies for you.”
“Yeah. I’m lucky. I thought we were gonna break up, man. I can’t get her pregnant and we got into a huge fight.”
I stepped into the living room just as Jensen was about to spill more about our recent fight.
“Alright boys, time for bed. Karl, you take the guest room, and you Mr Ackles go get in my bed.”
Jensen smirked, “Yes ma’am. Night Karl. I’m going to sleep with my wife. Maybe put a baby in her.”
I shot him a look as Karl erupted in laughter. “Good luck, mate.”
“Jensen, bed, now, and you too Karl. It’s too early in the morning to deal with this crap.”
Jensen stumbled to our room and passed out on the bed halfway through taking off his shoes. I chuckled when I saw him.
I removed his shoes, and jeans. Helped him get under the blankets and went to grab him some water and medicine to put by his bed.
As I passed the guest room Karl was sitting on the side of the bed. “Hey love. Sorry he’s so drunk. He got really upset at the bar. Said he was a failure because he couldn’t give you the one thing you wanted, a baby. Just thought you should know he’s torturing himself over this.” “I had no idea. I’m going to make it right. Thank you for letting me know.” “Of course. He loves you deeper than I’ve ever seen him love anyone. You’re it for him and he’d move mountains to make you happy.” “I know, Karl. I am incredibly lucky to have him and I’m so proud to be his wife. Night Karl.” “Night Y/N.”
I went back to our room and Jensen was asleep. Soft snores leaving his slightly parted lips.
Crawling into bed I snuggled close to him. He woke slightly and pulled me close. “I love you Y/N. I can’t wait to give you a baby. You deserve everything.”
“Shhh baby. Just sleep. We can talk about that later. I love you Jensen.”
I placed a soft kiss on his cheek and heard soft snores again. I chuckled softly and drifted back to sleep.
The next few weeks Jensen and I worked on our relationship. We both went to the doctor and he was given a clean bill of health. The doctor said I had endometriosis which caused scar tissue and would make it difficult, but not impossible to get pregnant. She said it would just take more time.
Leaving the doctor I felt so defeated. I stared out the window as a tear slipped out. Jensen looked over and saw my body language. He took my hand, “Hey. It’s okay. She didn’t say we couldn’t get pregnant, she said it would just take more time.”
“I know, Jensen. I just never thought it would be so difficult to have a baby. I’m so sorry, Jensen.” Tears fell fast and heavy. Jensen pulled the car over. He took my hand in his, and cupped my face with the other, “Shhh, baby don’t cry, please. We will figure this out. I promise baby. I’ll move mountains to make you happy.” “I know Jens.”
We drove the rest of the way home in silence. The doctor’s words replayed in my head. Once home I crawled in bed and just cried. Jensen came into the room and laid down beside me, pulling me close to him and holding me.
No words were spoken between us for the rest of the night, Jensen just held me. I felt so broken.
The next few days I tried to do research on endometriosis and pregnancy. Depending on the amount of scar tissue can affect the ability to get pregnant. There are numerous treatment options that include surgery and IVF.
Jensen was on set so I sent him a text.
Me: Hey baby just wanted to check in and tell you I’ve been doing some research. We have options and I can’t wait to talk to you about it. I’m sorry I’ve taken this so hard. I just wasn’t expecting to be told my body couldn’t do the one thing it was designed to do. I love you.
Jensen: Hey baby. Can’t chat long, back on set in a few. I understand why you’re upset. We will figure this out together. Whatever you need we will tackle it together. I love you sweetheart.
Me: I love you too Jens. I’ll talk to you tonight. I’m baking you a pie.
Jensen: I can’t wait.
A few hours later I had baked the pie, it was cooling on the stove and I had started cooking dinner. Jensen was due home in about an hour and I wanted dinner ready for him. He’d been putting in long hours on set, and helping me deal with the aftermath of the doctor appointment. He was definitely my rock.
I had just turned on the stove when the phone rang. Looking at the caller ID I saw my sister’s name.
“Hey sis. How are you?” I asked as I answered the phone. At first the line was silent. Then I heard her sob. “Hey, Abby, what’s wrong?”
“Y/N, it’s…dad…he’s gone.” The world around me went dark, every sound sounded like I was underwater. “What?” I stuttered out.
Abby took a shaky breath, “Dad, he died. He got into a car accident and died on impact.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My dad, the first man I ever loved. The man who taught me how to dance, change a tire, how a husband and father should treat his family was gone.
I couldn’t breathe. My legs gave out and I collapsed to the floor. My body was shaking with the primal sobs that left my mouth. The sounds leaving my body were full of pain and anguish.
My body wouldn’t move from the floor. My phone was long forgotten, I didn’t know if Abby was still on the phone or not.
The only thing I could make out between the tears that left my shattered body was Jensen coming through the front door.
He took one look at me on the floor and bolted to my side. Grabbing me and pulling me into his arms, “Y/N, baby, what’s wrong? What happened?” I sobbed harder.
I couldn’t talk. He held me tighter. Jensen knew something terrible had happened. The only thing I could muster out was “daddy”. Jensen knew instantly something happened to my father.
Taking out his phone he called my mother. There was no answer, so he called Abby. “Abby, this is Jensen. I just got home and found Y/N on the floor, saying “daddy”, what happened, is your dad okay?”
Abby told him what happened and Jensen’s heart broke. He knew how close my father and I were. When we started dating my dad sat Jensen down and had a long talk with him. Before Jensen asked me to marry him, he got my dad’s permission, and daddy gave it to him after another long talk about what it meant to be a husband.
“Baby, I’ve got you. I know, sweetheart. I’m so sorry baby.” He helped me up, and carried me to our bed. Laying me down he pulled a blanket over me and curled beside me. “Shhh baby. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. I’ve got you.”
I snuggled closer to him, my tears soaking his shirt, but being in his arms I felt safe. This loss hurt deeper than anything I’d ever experienced. Part of my soul was gone. One of the people responsible for my existence was now gone.
I was glad I had Jensen because I had no idea how to live my life, how to go on without my dad. Jensen softly kissed the top of my head as my crying started to subside.
“I love you, Y/N. I’m so sorry baby.” He pulled me closer. I looked up at him, my eyes puffy and swollen from crying, “I love you too, Jensen.”

sleep troubles ( ~ 900 words )
requested by @f1shb0n3sz . sorry this took awhile. i've never really thought about cassandra honestly so this was a welcome challenge for me. i did my best to characterize her well but i'm not super familiar with her character so apologies if she is ooc. i don't really plan on doing a lot for her as i'm just not as familiar with her but here ya go : ) if any of the baby lore is inaccurate i apologize i'm not particularly familiar with babies (*_ _)人. i hope this is okay ! a little shorter than usual i apologize. arcane masterlist here , upcoming list here
summary : cassandra helps you , who struggles with insomnia , get to sleep. a cg ! cassandra kiramman fic.
tags / warnings : sfw agere , arcane agere , boyre , babyre , mommy ! cassandra , little ! masc reader , reader struggles with insomnia , fluff , minor hurt comfort — a bit of crying and anxious thoughts from baby but mommy calms you right down , arcane x reader , talk of baby ! caitlyn , bottle feeding , not proofread </3
Cassandra walks into your room, having heard your continuous babbles over the baby monitor. The councilor looks tired, dark circles beginning to form beneath her striking teal blue eyes. “Now now, my darling,” she begins to scold gently. “Look at the time, love. Time for little ones like you to be asleep.” You continue to babble, excited to see your mommy, reaching out your arms towards her. She sighs but comes over to your crib which she had specially made by commission for you.
She scoops you up, sitting you on her lap in the rocking chair next to your crib. She bounces you on her lap, before giving you a bit of a stern look. “Why aren’t we asleep, hmm?” She’s concerned, it’s well past midnight by now, pushing one o’clock. She recalls that when Caitlyn was this small, barely a year and a half, she had slept nearly constantly. Like clockwork at 6:45 every evening she’d come sleepily toddling, half scooting by means of a coffee table or armchair, ready for a kiss and a cuddle from mommy, falling asleep almost the second she was placed in her crib. You, however, as she’s come to know, are a different story.
You whine. It’s not that you don’t want to sleep. But you just can’t. “Use your words please. Can you do that for Mummy?” she prompts you. “A whine simply won’t do on its own.”You grumpily huff, wishing she could read your mind. Words are hard when you’re so small. She tuts at you, chuckling a bit. “Now now, let’s not get grumpy. Mummy can’t help you if you don’t speak up. Aren’t you feeling sleepy?”
You shrug. You are feeling rather tired but sleep just won’t come! She waits patiently for you to speak. She’s quite no nonsense like that; you know you won’t be able to worm your way out of explaining the situation to her. “‘Somnia,” you mumble, a bit embarrassed. You squirm in Cassandra’s lap, mind straying to the possibility of her being ashamed, or embarrassed by you. Perhaps she’ll think you’re too difficult, or maybe even a bad boy.
You begin to fuss at these thoughts. She’s surprised when you open your mouth, beginning to cry. She gasps quietly, alarmed by your cries. She brings you closer to you, rubbing your back soothingly. “Oh hush now, my little love. You’re okay, everything is okay,” she soothes softly. “You have insomnia, hmm? Is that correct?”
You nod slowly, sniffling as you wipe your tired teary eyes. “Shhh, how about I help you get to sleep tonight, prince? Would that be alright?” You nod, appreciatively, babbling a bit in response.
“Mamamababa,” you say, and she chucks your chin, smiling.
“There’s my sweet boy,” she says lovingly. She thinks for a moment. “How about I make you a bottle of some nice sleepytime tea? That would be quite nice, wouldn’t it now?” You cock your head, pondering that idea for a minute. Tea? You don’t drink a lot of that, it’s more for grownups like Mommy. You nod eagerly, clinging to Cassandra’s ruffled white undershirt so she has no choice but to stand up with you in her arms, placing you on her hip.
Typically she’ll have the servants make your bottles, being far too busy with council activities during the day to make them herself. By now, though, everyone is asleep in their quarters aside from the two of you. She puts on the kettle, pacing the large kitchen as she bounces you on her hip waiting for the tea to be ready.
She hums softly to you. She has a sweet but rusty singing voice, not having used it in years. She sticks to humming a soft tune that Caitlyn used to adore. The humming soothes you even further, and you begin to feel sleepier, closing your eyes while you wait for Mommy to get your bottle ready.
A short while later she’s pouring the warm tea into a bottle, tightly fastening the top, smiling proudly to herself. She carries you back to your room, situating herself and you back in the rocking chair. You make grabby hands for the bottle and she experimentally tests it to make sure it’s a proper temperature. “Mmmm, it tastes nice. Perfect for my little love,” she comments, allowing you to taste your first sip of the warm liquid.
You giggle, squirming with delight. It does taste good. She boops your nose and you smile around the bottle, suckling at it eagerly. Before it’s even half empty you feel your eyelids beginning to droop. “Someone’s pretty tired, hmm?” the councilor teases gently. You hum in response. “You all done, sweet boy?”
“Mmmmm,” you hum, nodding slightly. She picks you back up, placing the bottle on top of your dresser and gently spinning the mobile above your crib. “Ababa…” you babble sleepily. She carefully places you in bed, tucking you in snuggly, giving both you and your lion stuffie a gentle kiss on the forehead.
She sits back down on the rocking chair, rocking back and forth slowly, determined to stay with you until you’re fast asleep. She softly begins to sing you a lullaby, hearing you sleepily moving in your bed. She sings you the one about the mockingbird, Caitlyn always liked that one. Her voice is a bit husky but you don’t have any complaints, allowing yourself to drift off to the sound of your mommy’s lullaby.

Totally random but could you write like an alternate ending one shot with Edward and y/n from the the story please lowkey wanna see that play out
ooo sure okay 💜 hope you enjoy :)
out of your league - paul edward x reader (alternate version)
AN: for the paul lovers, all i have to say is, i’m sorry 😭 ! don’t read if you are a paul lover !
read out of your league part 21 for context :)
The solemn was great but you were sure that your decision was the right one. Your mind was like a tornado by the way thoughts kept coming through.
At the jet landing, Larry and his girlfriend gave you a quick but tight hug before getting into their own car that had someone holding the car door open for them.
A car was waiting for you as well, with Edward holding the door open. You get in the passenger seat and Edward swiftly puts your luggage in the trunk, making sure to keep his quickness at a human level.
The trip was silent but the sound that beat around the car from the busy city life was heard. Reality had set in. You made your choice. Your choice to stay.
The traffic was bad, your eyes were glued to the window. The sky was starting to darken even more than it was, cold rain started to patter softly. A flick of the windshield wipers was heard.
“How was LA?” he asks you softly, dying to make conversation as he noticed your reserved presence but, you jumped at the voice snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Huh?” you ask him in a small voice.
“How was LA?” he asks again.
“Horrible.” you say, not changing the volume as you speak in a small voice.
“Really?” he asks in slight astonishment. You huff out a small sigh as you watch the rain roll down your window, it looked really close to tears. You just silently nod.
After some time, he looks over to you, “Do you want to listen to some music?”
“If you want to, you can turn some on. I’m not stopping you.” you say in a whisper.
It was low like a hum, the music starts to play from his stereo. The classical song that you told him you liked. You give a slight incredulous look, “Really?” you ask.
His lip lifts up into a smile only just a little, as he looked to you. In a way, it did soothe you a bit. It helped clear the thoughts in your mind. Your sadness started to slowly turn into a tad of anger.
If Paul was going to make an ultimatum like that, you thought, “Fuck it.”
It simply wasn’t fair. If the shoe was on the other foot, you wouldn’t make him choose like that.
“Are you hungry?” he asks and you notice that the song had ended, what’s now playing is something he seemed to enjoy as you didn’t know the song.
You shrug.
“Y/N, we can’t start this again.” he says softly.
“At least let me…get settled in first. I just want to decompress for a second.” you say. He complies.
The route to your apartment was in your eyes as you looked through the windshield at the street. You get out and your luggage is already in his hand as you move inside of the building.
“I will be quick.” you tell him and he nods as he walks to the sofa that he knew for sure that Alice had picked out.
You sit alone in your bedroom on your bed with your jacket still on. You checked your phone. It was evening now. No calls, no texts, just nothing. You toss it to the side on the soft surface and look to the floor for a moment with a frown with slump shoulders.
Your eyesight begins to blur as tears splat on your lap. You don’t make any noise but a deep breath as your face feels hot. This was something that you wanted so badly.
A soft knock makes you collect the tears from your eyes with a soft sniff.
“Yeah?” you call out after clearing your throat.
“Everything alright?” you hear through the door and you’re already up and walking towards it. You open it and Edward’s face is painted with slight worry.
“Yes….Let’s go.” you say to him as you now have yourself together.
You stared at the bubbles that floated about in your untouched drink. You forgot what you ordered.
“You’re upset…Why?” he rings out softly.
“I made a sacrifice.” you say lowly.
He stared at you even though your eyes were glued to the cup in front of you.
“Do you want to talk about what it was?” he asks.
You don’t say anything at first, but the words were at the tip of your tongue. You raise your eyes to his intense but amber eyes as you began to speak. You had his attention.
“Being here. Coming back here means I lose….him.” you say and you look down. He watched you.
The waiter comes before he could speak, he sets your plate down and you give him a quiet thank you after he says that the plate is hot.
“I’m sure you didn’t lose him.” he says to you as he slightly shakes his head.
“I did.” you say with such finality. You then take your eyes off of him before unwrapping the silverware. You stab your fork into your plate and you eat in silence without looking back up at him.
That night, you called and called Paul. There was no answer. No text back. Acceptance seeped into your body.
The next morning, Alice made you get out of bed. She wouldn’t stop calling to the point that it was your alarm. After getting dressed from your shower, you pull on your jacket and feel in your pockets. The sharp edge of the thin paper poked your fingers and you pull it out. You stared at the amount of 0’s that would change your life. This solidified that you are able to now be the artist without the starving part.
Alice sat with you in the office of a financial adviser at the private bank. You were quiet and let her do most of the talking.
“Do you want to draw later?” she asked softly when they had to answer a quick phone call. You look to her and she looked hopeful. She did nothing wrong and sketching usually made you pour out feelings that were deep within. You nod. She smiles excitedly.
“Okay and you’re good to go.” The fiduciary financial adviser says with a smile and you and Alice rise up.
“He didn’t answer at all?” she asks in disbelief. You told her that you haven’t spoken to Paul.
“No.” you say looking down at the sidewalk with your hands stuffed in your jacket pocket.
“Don’t jump to conclusions just yet. Maybe he’s in his wolf form and can’t answer.”
You sighed, “Alice, it’s the afternoon. He would’ve called me by now if not sooner…..” you say in defeat as you both walked.
Alice bells out a happy hello to her brother who is at his piano. The face on his was shocked that you had came in through the door right behind her. He gets up and walks over to you both.
“Where’s Jasper?” you ask to no one in particular.
“He went to visit Emmett.” Edward replies.
“You didn’t go?” you ask him as you took off your jacket. Edward almost immediately reaches out and you place it in his outreaching arms. He shakes his head.
“Come on!” she says excitedly.
She takes your hand and Edward watched as you disappeared with his sister.
The mannequin this time had nothing on it. A soft grin forms on your lips. You turn to Alice who is setting down plain white sheets on the large workspace.
“You didn’t make anything?” you ask surprised.
She just gracefully twirls as you stare at what she has on.
“Wow.” you just say and she just smiles.
As the sounds of pencils started to scratch into the room, she asks you, “So..Have an idea on what you would want to do for your birthday?”
You shrug, “Probably just treat myself out..Or something.” you say with uncertainty. That’s when her face stretched into a bright smile.
“What?” you ask her with a knowing grin.
“Nothing.” she says as she starts to color in the design she’s making.
“Yeah, right.” you say shaking your head with a chuckle and go back to finishing your own work. You didn’t care too much about drawing the clothes in a technical manner.
“So..What did you and Edward do for the two days I was gone?” you ask.
“We just did what we normally do. It was a bit boring to be honest.” she says.
“Really? I mean…You can guys can basically do anything.” you point out. This makes her laugh a little.
“But, I didn’t have anyone to do this with.” she says.
“Mm.” you say with a nod as you finish up with what’s on your paper.
It seemed as soon as you both got done, Edward appeared in the doorway.
“Look at what we made.” Alice says to him and waves him over. He enters and his eyes flicker to yours first. You put a hand over it. Alice nudges your hand, “Y/N.”
“It’s not as good as yours.” you say with a slight frown.
“Who cares.” she says with a smile. You let your hand up and Edward is now beside you.
“It’s good Y/N.” he says to you as he inspects it. You thank him even though you don’t fully believe him.
“Alright, you two. I have to hunt and by the time I get back, Jasper will be here.” she says to you both and you follow her out of the room.
“You’re not going?” you ask Edward after Alice had made her departure.
“I went when you and Alice were away.” he says. You nod. You cross your arms and your eyes go to his abandoned piano.
“What were you playing?” you ask. He doesn’t say anything immediately as he walks to the bench but doesn’t sit down.
“How about I teach you instead.” he says with a warm smile. You put your head slightly up and he chuckled at this.
“Come on, it’s easy.” he says as he gestures for you to come.
You flop down and stare at the keys. They were like a foreign language.
“I’m not going off of anything you say is easy.” you say as you turn your head to look up at him. He stared down with liquid gold eyes with amusement.
“A child can learn what I’m about to teach you.” he says as you turn back around as he stepped closer behind you.
“Place your fingers here.” he says and demonstrates with his own as he leaned his arms over your shoulder. You follow and you hold back your flinch from his fingers brushing briefly against yours. You sit up straighter with square shoulders.
His fingers press yours down and have you repeat the first sequence. You do so before he teaches you the next sequence and you do that before you start from the top.
“See?” he says as you play on your own. You never thought you would be able to play a song on the piano but, to be fair, it was easy. The notes weren’t complicated and the melody was simple.
After you play with ease, he suggest another set of notes to make it sound a bit better.
As you play around with it, you couldn’t help but softly ahh out at the fact that you were getting the hang of the instrument. He slowly reached back over and adds onto the melody that you were already playing. You both were now playing the piano together.
He retracted his arms and it makes you stop. You turn around and the prolonged eye contact that he gives you makes you nervous. You look down. He senses this and holds out his hand. You stare at it for a moment before taking it.
You shivered slightly as he held onto your hand and leads you to a room. His hand felt like a stone that you had picked up in cold weather.
Your body froze as you stared at the piece he had bought from you. It was nicely placed and it seemed to go really well with the room. You let your eyes travel about.
“This is your room?” you ask quietly and look to him. He nods. You hum a response.
“I can’t believe you bought it.” you say with a sly grin as you continued to look at. You had to admit, you were glad that your hard work didn’t go to waste.
“I just couldn’t resist.” he says. The room seemed like something was missing. You look around with furrowed eyebrows and he watched you.
He watched your face return back to neutral. He wanted to know what was on your mind as you were clearly thinking hard.
“What is it?” he asks.
“Oh..Nothing..” you say with a soft chuckle. It seemed embarrassing.
He brings out an encouraging grin, even subtly swinging the hand that was still attached to his, “Tell me.” You felt his thumb brush against the back of your hand. You look down and back up at him and his gaze back at you with a fond look.
“You don’t have a bed.” you say and he chuckles out and you continue, “But I forgot. You don’t sleep.” you say with a soft smile that came on your face without permission.
“You’re right.” he says to you.
“So like…Do you miss it?” you ask. You genuinely wanted to know. He leads you to a large plush chair that was in his room. He sits down and your hand is still attached to his as you look down at him. He tugs it slightly and you hesitate as you look at his lap.
You decide to sit on the arm of the chair, letting your legs and sock covered feet rest between his leg. You two are now close. You focus on breathing as you realize he never let go of your hand.
“I do now.” he tells you. You look at him in astonishment. You didn’t expect that answer.
“You do? I would figure that’s the part that didn’t really matter.” you say.
“Well.. I didn’t care too much for it..But…” he says but trails off. Silence fell in your ears and you look away from your piece that you were glancing at and look at his face.
“But what?”
“I wish I could dream.” he reveals in a voice that’s dripping in velvet.
“Hm…Fair…What would you dream about?” you asked him.
He then looks down a bit and you match his lax grin.
“Don’t leave me on a cliffhanger.” you say humorously.
“I don’t want to scare you away. That’s all.” he tells you softly.
“A little too late for that. I’m literally hanging with Dracula right now.”
He laughs out, even tilting his head back and you can see the glisten of his white teeth from the light.
“What do you dream about?” he asks. You shake your head and sigh a little, “Don’t change the subject.”
“If you tell me, I’ll tell you.” he says. You roll your eyes a bit, “You’re so unfair.”
“An eye for an eye.” he says with a grin.
You huff out a bit before you just shrug, “Random stuff really. I go on adventures in my dreams. If I were to make a movie about my dreams it would be a mind trip.”
He unclasps his hand from yours before reattaching it. You watch this.
“Come on.” you trail out encouragingly but softly as you see that he’s hesitating still. He swallows just a bit before speaking out, “This. Us. The things that we do.”
Your breath hitched. For some reason, you didn’t expect that to be his answer. You blink at him to see if he would joke or saying, “Just kidding.” but he doesn’t. He just waits for your reaction with his intense eyes.
“Wasn’t expecting that.” you replied with pursed lips as you were in thought. You get up, making sure to not let yourself stumble and wiggle your hand free from his.
You walk to a record collection of his and choose to look at that with your hands on your hips.
“I scared you away.” he states as he speaks over your shoulder.
You bark out a laugh, “That didn’t scare me.”
He picks up a record and you watch him as he shows it to you. He slides it out and placed it in the record player. You continue to watch him.
He turns back around to face you once the needle hits the track and the record spins. The melodic rhythm fills the room. He’s standing close in front of you and reaches down slowly to grab your hand again. This time you’re not shocked by the difference of the body temperature.
What you’re shocked about is the fact that he pulls you fluidly to him, he carefully placed your hands on his shoulders and he placed his on your waist. Feet started to move and you follow his. No words were said as the slow song played. It reminded you of a vintage romance movie. So much, that you swallowed from nervousness.
You see a mirror and you catch the reflection. It looked like a romantic painting. You didn’t know how to feel about that, as you didn’t know if you were overreacting.
You lightly huff out a tiny laugh and look down.
“What?” he asks as a small grin danced on his lips. You shake your head a bit, “I never thought I would…I don’t know…Slow dancing?”
“You haven’t done this with anyone else before?” he asks and you catch the slight surprise. You shake your head. Before you knew it, he lifts you a small twirl happens as you clutch onto him. You laugh a bit. He sets you back down on your feet with a warm smile, his finger slightly brushed the exposed skin from your shirt lifting a bit. Goosebumps appear and he takes one of your hands and hold it. He lifted you up as easily as one could lift a doll, placing you on your tippy toes on top of his feet.
He looks down at you and you look up at him. He looks content. As if he could look at you all day. Thoughts are empty as you watch him lean closer and closer slowly. You were almost to his height this way, so he didn’t have to move too far. He placed a kiss on your cheek. You jerk from surprise but luckily he holds you up in a firm hold.
“I’m sorry.” he whispers out, his eyebrows are knitted together.
“I…” you just say but you couldn’t think of anything to say. You were ashamed that a spark was felt on your cheek. You felt guilty.
He sets your feet to the floor and steps back. An apologetic look is on his face.
“I’m gonna use the restroom.” you quietly say with your head down.
In the mirror, the reflection reached and the fingertips touched the touched cheek. You let your eyes fall with your hand.
You reach into your back pocket and pull out your phone. There was nothing. Still no texts, no calls, or even an attempt to reach out. You shove it back into your pocket.
You walk out and you catch Edward brooding in his chair. His eyes lift up to you standing in his room. Your hands rest on your arms as you watch him.
“I’m sorry.” he says again and looked like he wanted to kick himself.
You shrug, “It wasn’t on the lips.” He doesn’t say anything but doesn’t take his eyes away from yours.
You sit back onto the arm of the chair, just like how you previously were.
You place both arms on your knees as you both stare at each other. You watch as he graced his fingers on your hand.
“You don’t know how good it feels to do this without my throat severely burning.” he says softly. You nod in understanding.
“I have to confess something.” he then says.
You take his hand fully. Hoping it was enough for him to spit it out. It was.
“I did have a breakup with Bella…”
You snort, “Why did you lie?”
“I felt foolish…That meant that I had to come to terms that I agreed to a relationship with the greatest prey a predator could ever come across. Her blood sang to me.” he says.
“What does that mean?” you ask.
“Her blood was like a siren to vampires. It smelled sweeter than most. More mouthwatering than most.” he says and sucks in a breath he didn’t have to take, “I couldn’t be with someone like that….It’s not like that with you.”
“My blood sucks.” you joke quietly. Edward forms a slight grin.
“I don’t even think of your blood. I just think of you and what you do.”
“Yeah, right. You’re only just saying that because I’m immune to your power.”
“Not completely immune. I can see the colors that try to merge with each other. I love your mind….With Bella I just read nothing. Pure nothing.” he reveals.
“Answer me this.” you say and he says to you, “Anything.”
“What did Alice see? Remember I asked you what else did she see? I know you lied, Edward.” you say.
“This will scare you away definitely.” he says with a nervous smile.
You throw your arms slightly up to gesture to your surroundings. You give him a humorous look.
“A kiss on the cheek scared you.” he teases. You then playfully nudge his chest.
“Stop being chicken.” you say as you wait for him to continue.
“She saw….Y/N can we please talk about something else?”
“Noooooo.” you say.
He huffs a bit but you patiently wait.
“She saw our future together. That’s all I will say.” he says and rises up. You follow him.
“Was it good or bad?” you ask him.
“Neither.” he answers and you both are back in the living room, “It was great.”
“W…What about…” you start but shake your head and sit on the large sofa.
“What about what?”
“Paul. Does that mean I broke up….With him?” you ask.
“With the way we were acting, I hope so.” he says with a bit of hesitance as he sits next to you.
“We….were doing something dirty?!” you ask nervously.
He chuckled, “Get your mind out of the gutter.” he taps your temple a bit in a playful way, You roll your eyes a bit.
Alice comes in right in tow with Jasper. Jasper smiles and says hello to you. You greet him back.
“Congratulations, Y/N. Your piece really was amazing.” he says to you. You smile and thank him.
Alice tugs his arm, tugging him away with a smile you knew all too well. Edward rises and you look up at him.
“They’re about to go at it.” he says with a slight grimace and jerks his head to the front door. This actually made you chuckle.
You get up quickly and he hands you your jacket. You both agree on walking.
Side by side, the pace match each other’s.
“I didn’t know how much I was impacted by your presence until you were only gone for two days.” he told you.
“What do you mean?”
“I thought I was going mad…Who told you to wrap me around your finger?” he says as the arm of his jacket brushed against yours. You didn’t mind. You weren’t focused on that, you were focused on with what he was saying.
“You’re annoying.” you say with a soft smile.
“I’m serious.” he says to you, displaying his own smile.
“Was I…Happy? In the vision.” you wonder.
“I’m guessing so. Do you smile when you’re not happy?”
You shake your head.
You both look at books. You both talk about what you both find is interesting. He takes you to get something to eat.
He steadily holds the spoon as you lean forward and capture it in your mouth.
“Is it possible for someone like you to overeat?” you wonder after you sit back in your seat. You didn’t want to say it out too loud in public.
“Yeah. It’s like a weird liquidy feeling inside.” he says with a crooked grin.
You raise your hand to get the spoon back. He didn’t want to give it back.
“I can feed myself.” you say with a grin.
“I..Like this.” he says with a content grin and waits for your reaction. When you don’t give him one, he scoops a bit of your food onto the utensil again and holds it out for you to take a bite. You only have to lean forward just slightly since you both were already in close proximity.
“What did you do while I was away?” you ask.
“The usual.” he shrugs. He continued to stare for a moment before saying, “It definitely felt like something….Or someone was missing.”
“You’re saying that to make me feel important.” you say with a grin.
His face is serious, “I’m serious.” he says. The spoon softly clatters back onto your dish. He takes your hands that are resting close to him on the table. Both thumbs scrape against the back on your hands. The butterflies that came scared you.
You retract your hands and look down.
“What is it?” he asked feeling confused. You don’t say anything but the waitress comes back over with a smile asking how the everything was, you let Edward answer as you take small bites of the rest of your food.
“Everything is fine. We can get the check.” he says to her but he doesn’t look at her. He just watched you.
She leaves and he calls your name, even going as far as covering the hand that’s still on the table.
“We have to stay friends. Nothing more.” you say with a shaky voice.
“So we’re friends. I thought you hated me.” he teases and as much as you didn’t want to, you laugh a little at his statement.
“I hate no one.” you say.
“If we’re friends, does that mean I can still see you?” he asks you.
You push your empty plate away from you slightly and just give him a glance. You lift a shoulder up slightly as you felt nervous.
“Am I that boring?” he asks plainly. You lean forward a bit, “No.” you say with a chuckle.
“I want to be honest. I know I lied to you about Bella and I’m sorry. You’ll get nothing but the truth from me.” he says.
“It’s okay. At least you told me before I found out in a different way. I want to be honest too. I don’t know where I am with Paul and I don’t want to complicate things.” you admit.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Go ahead.”
“Do you enjoy the time that we do spend together?” He asks as he holds your eyes in his.
You held it in. You didn’t admit nor deny. You both stared intensely at each other. The waitress then comes and gives Edward the bill back.
“Ride or walk?” he asks you.
You shrug as you look at him.
You ended up going home. The ride home had a tense cloud but it was expected. You call Paul again and again. You call one more time and he picks up the phone.
“Yes, Y/N.” The voice is annoyed.
“Hey.” you say into the line.
“What do you want.” he said flatly. It had no energy. You knew that you were the cause of that.
“I just wanted to check up on you.” you say in a small voice.
“I’m fine.” he just says and you wait to see if he would speak again. He doesn’t.
You finally say something, “I know you’re mad at me.”
“I’m not doing this over the phone.” he says impatiently.
“What you’re doing is being an ass right now. I just want to talk.” you say feeling frustrated.
“Talk? Talk for what? You’re going to always do your own thing anyway.” he says.
“You’re so cold and for what?” you ask him in disbelief as a pang hits your chest.
“Now, I’m cold.” he says sarcastically and huffs out a laugh, “I can’t do this.”
You stand up and grit out, “Can’t do what?” Your anger rise. You refused to believe that he was serious. “Can’t do what?!” you ask louder.
“What’s the point in trying to be with someone who always goes against you? Who doesn’t love you back? Who doesn’t seem to care about the connection that’s shared? I’ve tried Y/N. I’m tired Y/N. You want to talk about cold, it’s you. You know and I both know that you’re not even coming back.” he spits out.
“Unfair. You don’t love me. You don’t talk to someone you love like that, threatening breakup-“
“Save the bullshit. I did! I wouldn’t say shit like that to someone I don’t love. You don’t love me. It’s all one sided. You’re so fucking blind to see it. Wake up!”
“Did? So, the times that I went against everyone just to be with you, didn’t matter huh?”
“You know what I mean and you wouldn’t have to give a fuck about everyone if you knew what you wanted in the first place. One minute, you make it seem like I’m your priority and the next, you make it seem like I’m not. You don’t even know what you want.”
“I do. I do.” you say as the silent tears fall onto the wooden floor.
“You don’t.”
“I know what I want. I want someone who’s not going to control me. It’s like you’re ruining this for me on purpose. It’s always your way or ‘we’re done’ well guess what? Let me give you your way. I’m tired of you always threatening me. If you want us to be done, fine. We’re done.” you choke out and press the end call. You throw your phone down on the ground in an angry grunt.
The phone vibrates and you pick it up. You slide your finger on to the screen and he immediately starts talking, “First of all, no one is controlling you and second, just remember that it’s you who wants to end things shitty. Then, you’re gonna fucking hang up on me? Talking about how we’re done?”
“Oh, now you care!” you say as you pace, “I haven’t even heard from you! You can’t do this remember!” you say angrily in the phone, taking it away from your ear to speak directly into the speaker.
“I’m not fucking doing this. This is toxic. I fucking can’t.” he says.
“You’re toxic. You’re cancer. I cared about you and you didn’t care back unless you need your dick wet. That’s the reason why you want me home. This imprint is just an excuse for you and your wolf to dominate me.” you hiss out.
“Look at how you’re fucking talking…Cared?…..” he grits out.
“I’m not being stuck in La Push just to make you happy. You know what? Just because you can’t leave doesn’t mean you get to take it out on me! Us living together isn’t working. I don’t even want to come back….To your house. I want a boyfriend not a father!”
He hears your angry breathing as you pace.
“My house….You’re talking crazy. I bet you don’t have an answer on when you’re coming home. You’re doing this shit on purpose. You know that Larry said you can come home but you’re going off of some psychic leech who doesn’t give a fuck about you except for your blood.” After a beat, he speaks again, “You cashed that leech’s money, didn’t you?” he says menacingly. You didn’t recognize this person on the phone. He didn’t recognize the person on his line.
You not saying anything told him the answer.
“Bye, Y/N.” he says.
Click.
You stare at the screen. It cracked. You groan and throw it down again. But, harder. You slowly say on the bed, staring at the wall, your adrenalin comes down. Reality sets in. You realized your fuck up. Your face crumbled.
Face down, you angrily cry into your mattress. Your body and your shoulders shake. You never been this mad before. You cry about the cruel things that you said. You couldn’t take them back. You think about the cruel things that he said. He couldn’t take them back.
He told you he loved you, but you felt that there was no way he could never love you after tonight.
With a pounding headache, the morning light flashed you. Your phone didn’t work anymore. The screen was discolored and cracked, you couldn’t see anything on it. You just cried. You slept when you felt sad. You couldn’t explain the heaviness that you felt.
A knock scared you, making you jerk out of your sleep. You ignored it. They kept knocking.
Swinging the door open, you don’t say anything but stare at the person in front of you. They saw that you had on the same clothes from yesterday but they were wrinkled on your body.
They step closer and you step back and close the door. Their foot wouldn’t let you.
“I’m worried.”
“Don’t be.” you hiss out.
“Me and Alice tried calling you.” Edward says.
“My phone is broken.”
“Just please tell me what’s wrong. I won’t say anything and will let you talk.”
“I. don’t. want. to. talk.”
“Can I at least get your phone fixed?”
“I don’t want it anymore.” you say and leave the door and go to grab it from your bedroom floor from where you discarded it.
You walk back to his body and put it in his hand roughly.
“Keep it.” you say.
“You said we can be friends. Why won’t you let me help you as a friend?” he asks you as he peered down at you.
“There’s nothing you can do.” you say in defeat and looked down. He slides the no good phone into his pocket.
He places two hands on your shoulders and pull you to him. You frown a bit until your head is now on his chest. He just holds you to him without saying anything.
“How did this happen?” the worker asks you. You take in a small breath as you start to feel embarrassed, Edward places a hand on your back.
“I threw it down. I was angry.” you just say.
“The screen is absolutely no good. It needs a replacement.” the worker says as they inspect it some more.
“No need to fix it. I’ll just get a new one.” you mutter. You then follow them to pick it out. He gives you your old sim card and gives you the bag that contained your new device. Before you could pull your card fully out of your wallet, Edward’s chip is already stuck in the machine.
You both are in no rush. He carried your box after discarding the bag.
“You’ve done enough.” you say as you face him before going inside of your own place.
He placed a hand on your arm and it halts you. He searched your face for a moment.
“What really happened? Why were you upset?” he asks you softly.
You look up at the sky.
“I ruined everything.” you say flatly.
“Do you want to talk about it? I do have forever.” he says, trying his best to bring humor into it.
“No.” you say as you then look down. “I need to be by myself.”
You walk away.
You stared at the glowing phone in your hand. It’s the most you’ve been called from the pack. The most was from Sam, your stomach dropped at the fact. You turn your phone off. You didn’t want those emotions to spill out again.
The only that open in your art room was the window. You just let it out in there. You had no direction as you worked. It was all impulse.
A stretched canvas was covered by the time sky was dark. You didn’t care that your hands and your back was hurting. The theme was self hatred. The theme was self sabotage. The theme was loss.
You sit down and put your head to your knees, starting to cry some more.
When you woke up, you winced as you rose up from the hard floor. Your hands and fingers were stained by you didn’t care. The same clothes from a day prior were once again on your body.
You felt too ashamed to look into the mirror. Under the water, the same thought floated through your mind.
“What am I going to do?”
You sat on the bench, finishing a hot sandwich. Eating it on autopilot, you stared at the same spot in front of you.
You feel your phone in your pocket buzz and pull it out half heartedly.
“Yeah.” you say, lacking any emotion.
“Y/N, what the hell is going on?” the voice coated in authority.
“A lot. I don’t want to talk right now.”
“If not now, then when? We have to talk. Paul fucking snapped.”
“It’s what he always does. As soon as he doesn’t get his way. The one time I’m doing something for me it’s a problem. I’m here for work and I need to focus.”
A pause soon took place before Sam talked again, “There’s still a chance to resolve both of you guys’ issues. Now, you do have to come home so you both can talk and work it out. You’re his imprint.”
“His. It’s all about him, I guess.”
“Y/N, don’t be like that. This isn’t like you. It feels like I’m talking to a completely different person. What’s really going on?”
“Nothing! Oh, I know. Everyone’s trying to parent me instead of letting me live my life. My dream was to always do this. With or without Paul. I thought the imprint was about him making sure I am happy too?”
“It is. No one’s trying to parent you. However, Paul is in bad shape. I want you both to really get through this and not fall apart. Especially not right now.”
“Too late. We said too much that we both can’t even come back from. I’ll talk to you later.” you say. Sam calls your name but you hang up. You put your phone back into your pocket.
The next few days, seemed like a daze. You only remember bits and pieces. Like Emily calling you. That’s how you knew, it was definitely over.
As you got dressed for a dinner meeting with Larry, a knock hits your door. You open it and it’s Alice.
You both talk as she zipped you up from the back.
“It’s really over.”
“I’m sure it’s not.” she says, throwing your idea away.
“He got Emily to help him move my stuff out.” you say flatly.
Alice pauses and looks at you from behind before standing in front of you.
“Are…You okay?”
“Life keeps on going.” you say with a soft shrug. She then wraps her arms around you.
You watched as Larry talked loud with a man that he knew for years. He owned his own high profile gallery and wanted to know if Larry stumbled across any talent.
Larry brought you.
You didn’t drink leisurely. But you did tonight.
“I know she has something done. Y/N.” Larry calls to you. You look at him. He’s wearing a humorous smile, he was tipsy.
“You got something done?” he asks you and you nod and he laughs nudging the client who’s very pleased.
“Bring what you got into my office tomorrow.” he says. You nod.
What you brought, he liked. He actually vocally loved it. You forced a soft smile to be polite. He shook your hand and offered to buy it off of you.
“How much do you want for it?” he asks as Larry sits on the edge of his office desk, hands in his pockets. The man had an elbow resting on his hand as he looked at the work you did.
“Um…” you say as you look at it, “Whatever you can give me.”
He was generous. Too generous. Your eyes bulge out of your sockets at the amount of 0’s. Larry and the person who paid you, shook each other’s hand with a smile. They promised each other to catch up with each other soon.
Coming out of the office, you stopped past your apartment to get your book. You didn’t want to be stuck in the boxed home. The wind wasn’t blowing too bad.
You were entrapped into the storyline of your book. You hear faint movement from the small table you were sitting at. You look up to see liquid gold staring back at you. You look back down to the words.
“Congratulations on your piece being sold.” he says.
“Thanks.” you mutter.
Some time slowly went past as you tried to concentrate back onto your book but you just couldn’t. You get up and Edward thought you were leaving. You instead went to a table that had a puzzle laid out. You focused on that.
He slides the piece that you were looking for in your direction. You stare at it. You sigh. He doesn’t say anything.
“What do you do when you want to crawl into a hole and die?” you ask him quietly as you snapped the piece into place.
“I just go away for a while.” he answers.
“Maybe, that’s what I need to do.” you mused.
“Maybe.” he says back.
He speaks again, “I’m going to Ithaca again. Would you come?”
You look at him. He’s waiting for your answer.
“I have nothing else better to do.”
A night of sleep later, you watch the road in front of you as he drives on it.
You were surrounded by hugs and talks of how happy they were to see you.
“Surprised that Alice isn’t here.” Esme says.
“Her and Jasper decided to stay back.” Edward answers.
“How long will you be with us?” Carlisle asks with a smile as he looked down at the bag that Edward was carrying.
“It’s just for a breather.” Edward says.
“It’s not much, but thank goodness there’s a bed for you to sleep in.” Esme says as she guides you up the grand stairs, into a spare bedroom. It was very spacious.
“I appreciate this. Thank you.” you say.
“Just let me know if I can help you with anything.” she says. You nod and she starts to leave but you say, “Wait.” She stops in the doorway, eager to hear what you have to say.
You hesitate but her eyes were warm enough for you to feel comfortable enough to continue, “How….How do you get over feeling heart broken? This is the real reason for the getaway.” you say in a small voice. She steps in and has a sympathetic look on her face.
She extends her arms out and you step in them. She rubs your back as you hug her back.
“Just feel it and then let it go.” she says. You both step back and look at each other. You nod in understanding. She touches your arm in a gentle manner.
You sketch in your book with your knees up as you sat on the bed. It was causal. You let your mind feel and run through the memories of you and Paul. You let yourself feel the emotions and the feelings that wanted to overflow.
You hear your name being called and you jerk from being startled.
“Scared me.” You say to Edward’s figure in the doorway.
“You scared me. I’ve been calling your name.” he says.
You pause as you look at him.
“You have?” you ask. He nods. You watch as he moves closer into the room. He sits on the edge of your bed.
“You can talk to me if something’s wrong.” he says.
You set your book aside and you watch as his eyes couldn’t help but flicker to the open page.
“It’s not finished yet.” you say to him.
“I wouldn’t have been able to tell.” he says bringing out a soft grin. Nothing is said for a moment.
“See anything? Read anything?” you ask and point to your temple. He nods a bit.
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” he says sympathetically. The way he says it made it seem like he was the one who hurt you.
“What doesn’t kill us really makes us stronger.” you say, chuckling a bit at the cliché.
“You are strong.” he comments quietly.
In the kitchen, you stood next to Edward as you watch him stand at the island as he pours piping hot water over a tea bag that’s resting in a tea cup.
He slides you the cup and the small bowl of sugar cubes.
It was only you and Edward in the living room after you had drunken your tea. It soothed your throat. The television wasn’t on. You both talked.
“So…He just moved your stuff out?” he asks quietly.
“Yeah. A friend of mine helped him and…Everything’s back at my family’s home.”
“How come you never really talk about your family?”
You shrug.
“I don’t know. Plus, they’re always so busy.” you answer. The times that they were there, they would be so tired from working that you felt bad to bother them. You knew it was so you could live comfortably. But, you missed that family orientation. The pack gave you that, but you didn’t know if that was even on the table still.
“Is that what made you like doing art so much?” he asks. You nod.
“I was a lonely kid. Art was always my friend.” you say.
“When you moved out, was it a relief to them?” he asks.
“Not a relief but, they were just glad that I found someone who made me happy.” you say. You look to him.
“You don’t have to answer, but since changing, do you miss your real parents?” you ask.
Edward mused, he spoke out, “Yes. But, I know that my mother was on her last breath begging Carlisle to save me.”
“She knew?” you ask surprised.
“I’m not sure if I’m quite honest.” he answered.
“Were you the only child?” you ask. He nods.
“This might be random but since you’re who you are…Are you able to have children with someone?” you ask.
“No.” he answers. You’re confused.
“I have nothing but venom through my body. Excluding the blood from when I feed.”
“Wow.” you say.
“Would you want children in the future?” he asks.
You shrug, “They’re a lot of responsibility. So, I’m not sure.”
“And expensive.”
You give him a look, “I think that’s the last thing you have to worry about.”
He makes smiles a bit, “Still, we can’t leave that part out.”
“What about you? Would you want children if you could have them?” you ask and he looks at you while you ask this question.
“With the right person.” he answers.
Rosalie enters the room, she takes a glance at you. “What are you doing still up?”
“It’s early.” you say.
“It’s the middle of the night.” she says.
“What? I can’t be apart of the party?” you ask. She grinned at this.
“I heard talks about children we can’t have.” she says as she sits down in a chair facing the both of you.
“You wanted a family?” you ask. She nods. You then find out that she’s a New York native.
“What part?” you ask.
“Rochester.” she says. You nod in acknowledgment. You all fall into casual talk and you see the sibling dynamic between Rosalie and Edward. The bantering between them were tossed back and forth.
You started to yawn. You rise up. Edward followed you with his eyes.
“Goodnight, Rosalie.”
“Goodnight. Or should I say good morning.” You both smile at each other.
You turn to Edward who’s watching you in a relaxed state. You lightly smother your hand on his that was resting on the arm of the sofa. You peer down at him as he looks up to you.
“Goodnight, Edward.”
“Goodnight.” he says with a warm smile.
You slept until you hear a knock on your door. You sit up and rub your eyes with the soft, warm blanket.
“Come in.” you say in your morning voice and yawn. You open your eyes from your yawn to Edward holding a breakfast platter.
“You didn’t have to do this.” you say as he placed the platter over your legs.
“It was nothing.” he says. As you ate, he asked, “Are you feeling better?”
You slowly chewed, “It will take time.”
Edward took your empty dishes and told you, “We should be back soon. Me and the others are going out to hunt.” You nod.
You get ready for the day, shaking your head at the fact that Alice snuck in some clothes. You then lounge while reading a book.
Your mind started to trail off and you started thinking of Paul again.
“Just let it go.” you say in your head as you closed your eyes.
But you couldn’t. You still felt the connection there.
You call Jared.
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N.” he says as he picks up the phone. The voice wasn’t happy. He was disappointed.
You sigh a bit, “Hey.”
“You know you fucked uo right?”
“I know….Wheres Paul?” with deep shames
“He hasn’t been here in days. He won’t shift back.”
You sit up straighter, “Have him call me. I know I said things I didn’t mean and I really want to apologize to him.”
“I think…That’s not going to work.” he says.
“Why not?”
“He played back everything and I saw everything. Y/N, you really broke his heart. You’re all that he had. You of all people should know that. I really can’t believe you.”
“Yes.”
“Hold up.” he says and it’s silent. However, he’s still on the line. Your heart pounds in your ears.
“Yeah.” It was blunt. No feelings.
You open your mouth to say sorry, but you felt like it wasn’t enough. You close it back. You let out a breath that he hears. He then speaks again.
“Y/N. We have to be apart.”
Your heart felt like it was being squeezed.
“I know that you know that you know that your stuff is back with your family.” There was no ill intent in his voice.
“Yes.” you say.
“I’m going to let you do your career. I won’t hold you back. You do you and I’ll do me. Whether you hate me or not, I’m still your protector. You won’t have to worry about me stepping on your toes, Y/N.”
“I don’t hate you.” you whisper as you hold your head.
“But, I’m gonna go ahead and go.” he says and before you could finish saying okay, Jared was back on the line.
You don’t know how you stayed with your head down with your forearms on your knees, but you sit up when the room light turns on.
You blink. Rosalie stares at you.
“Everything alright?” she asks from the doorway.
“Time will tell, then I would know.” you say.
She furrows her eyebrows in thought. She took in the statement.
Edward watched as you followed Rosalie. You walked down the steepness of the wooden stairs into the garage.
You just look around as the shiny cars and she stops in between two cars.
“Which one is yours.”
“Both of them.”
“Nice.” you say.
You sat on a stood as you watched swiftly clean the car. Still slow enough to have something to do in order to talk to you.
“So it was Edward, then you, then Emmett, Alice, and then Jasper.” you say after she tells you about her. She told her truth. She liked being human.
“Yeah.” she says lightly as she treated the task with such diligence. However, it looked like an editorial photo shoot for a magazine.
“You learn any of this stuff in college?”
“From high schools and universities that I have graduated from of course. Electrical engineering, astrophysics, and business, degrees in all of them.” She says with a soft smirk, “Also, I help keep Carlisle up to date on the latest advancements since so I also studied medicine.” She’s proud of herself. She looks to you.
“Busy and brilliant.” you comment. You were impressed. She softly flips her hair without any hands, only a little at that statement.
“When my future car gets messed up, I know right who to come to.” you day and she laughs lightly.
“Or buy another one.” she says with a grin.
“Nah, I would just hold onto it. It has to be on its last leg in order for me to just buy another one.”
“I heard your birthday was coming up. Have any ideas of what you’re going to do?” she asks.
“No idea. Most likely spend the day by myself and treat myself.”
Her chuckle kind of caught you off guard as she looks at you.
“What?” you ask.
“I doubt you will be by yourself.” she points out with a soft grin.
“Well….Definitely can’t go home for my birthday.” you say sadly.
“There’s more to do here than….There.”
“Im supposed to listen to the native who won’t show me around her city?” you tease and you saw her white teeth flash.
“I will show you around. But, me and Emmett are getting married again soon.”
“How sweet.” you comment with a sappy smile as you slowly spin while sitting on the stool.
As you move through the home, you hear Emmett’s loud booming voice.
“Come on!”
He was intently watching the television as people in hard helmets were tackling one another on the field with a brown football. There was a significance in the scores, you were guessing the team Emmett was rooting for was losing. You watched this until the announcer transitions into a commercial break.
He starts to vent to Carlisle about how it’s a shame that his team was losing to “horrible players.” Carlisle lip turns up only a little at his son’s frustration with the sport. He then turns and sees that you’re watching the scene.
“You seen that right?” Emmett asks you. You nod.
Carlisle chuckles as Emmett starts talking to you about interceptions and you just stare at him as you were never really into football. But, you still nod and hum out responses as he talks with his hands. The sound of the game resuming from break makes him then turn back around and watch the screen.
You feel something in your hand and you look down. Then back up to Edward’s soft expression.
“Esme wants to check up on you.”
He leads you through the home and into Esme’s workspace. Blueprints of architectural drawings were spread out on her desk. She looks up with warmth as she sees your face.
You move in closer as her maternal nature made you feel at ease.
“Are you okay?” she asks in concern. You nod.
“Did you think about what we talked about?” she asks.
“Yes.”
Edward looks between you two and he doesn’t hide his quizzical expression. Esme softly laughs at this as she takes a look at his face.
“This is girl talk, Edward.” she states to him. You didn’t notice that his hand was holding yours until he had to remove himself.
With him gone, you reveal your phone call to Jared. You kept it discreet as possible due to his super hearing, but you were thankful that she was able to read between the lines.
“I was all that he had. The guilt feels worse than the words that were being said.” you say.
For him to be their mortal enemy, she doesn’t show it as she genuinely says, “I’m sorry.”
Then subject smoothly changes as you point out her home renovation plans. You find out that’s what she likes to do.
“I have degrees in art and photography as well.” she says.
“I’m mad, you never told me you had a degree in art.” you tease and she chuckles.
“Yup. I’m so impressed with you though. You’ve never been to college but yet here you are knocking things out of the park like a pro. You really have a gift.” she says.
“Thanks.” you say.
“Edward has to bring you around more often so that we can have our own little art session. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two.” she says and you shake your head, “Me teach you?”
She smiles, “You’re doing something that I’m definitely missing.”
“An art session would be nice.” you say and she’s pleased with this statement. You look down at the blueprints of interior and exterior designs that were at her fingertips.
“I designed this home.” she says and you’re impressed as you really look around. You make note to take a closer look of the home when you leave her workspace.
“Did you design the home in Washington?” you ask. She nods.
“When I saw the house for the first time, I just kept thinking about how good the build was. It was impressive.” you say.
“I appreciate that. I actually would like to design a home for you.”
“No, no, no need.” you say but she overpowered your statement with, “Yes. And I want to.” with a smile.
“Why are you guys so…Welcome? Especially to me…A human.”
“I can’t speak for anyone else but, me and also Carlisle see how happy you make our dear Edward.”
Your stomach drops and you stutter out, “Oh, um…Me and Edward are just friends that’s all.” You say fidgeting with the small magnetic balls that rested on her desk.
“Well, you’re a good friend to him. He’s more lively around us instead of usual brooding self. Oh, you should see the look on his face when we ask about you.”
You nervously chuckle as the small ball clacked softly with the other one, her actions reminded you of a mother who was embarrassing you.
You ate a bowl of soup as you listened to Emmett get mad at the television that contained the players who tiredly walked with their hands on their hips.
“A loser team beat them. A team that doesn’t come close to their record at that!”
You softly chuckle as you know how that feels. You didn’t expect Edward to enter in. You nod your head in acknowledgment at his presence.
“And Esme wants me to bring you around more often.” he says as the bickering continues.
With a soft grin, “That doesn’t bother me.” You then look at him watching you and you continue with narrowed eyes, “You weren’t supposed to be listening in our girl talk.”
He taps to his ear, “You know I can’t help it.”
“You could’ve…I don’t know. Ran off somewhere.” You shrug as the spoon touch your lips.
“Run where?” he asks.
“Like I would know. You know this place better than me.”
“I want to show you something tomorrow.” he says.
“If it’s bad, I’ll pass.” you say.
A melodic chuckle rings out that makes you look at him, “It’s nothing bad. Why do you always think of the worst?”
“To brace myself for impact.”
“I impact you?”
“Not too much.” you say at his smile.
He takes your empty bowl away as soon as your spoon sets down. He comes back when you move off of the chair.
“Are you up for another match?” he asks you as you move into the living room.
“Another match of what?”
He puts an arm around you and steers you to the small table with the chess pieces sitting tall. You give him a look. He looks back.
“I’m not going to do you like that. I whooped you so bad last time.” you say and you couldn’t help but grin when you heard Emmett’s abrupt laugh.
“You were scared during the entire first part of the game. Don’t get cocky now.” Edward teases.
He sits down and you flop down at the small table in the corner.
He was in charge of the black pieces and you were the white.
“Ready when you are.” he says as you were supposed to make the first move.
You do so. He was relaxed. You stare as he move his piece without hesitation.
You move again and he moves after you.
You stare at the board in disbelief. Your jaw was dropped, he beat you in the matter of four moves. You didn’t know how it was possible.
He takes a finger to move your mouth up to close it.
“Keep the flies out, shall we?”
You nudge his hand which makes him laugh. You rise up and he calls for you to sit back down. You shake your head slightly and move to walk past him to the staircase but he lightly grabs your hand with both of his.
You halt your steps but you don’t look at him.
“I didn’t know you had a sore loser attitude.” he says and humor is coating his tone.
“Whatever. It’s still 1-1.” you say.
“I’ll go easy this time.” he says and this makes you look at him. He’s enjoying this. You playfully roll your eyes. You let him lead you to him as he softly tugs you. You peer down at him.
“It’s just a game Y/N.” he speaks out.
“You think I don’t know that?” you say to him. You feel his fingertips caress your hand as you say this to him. He doesn’t say anything as a warm smile dance on his features.
“Maybe we should end it here. I won so you got me back.” you suggest. You tried to keep your voice even as best as you could.
“You know you’re the only person I can play against fairly.”
He laughs at your loathing expression at the thought of another game.
“Please?” he bells out. You sigh as you look at his face.
“Will it get you to leave me alone?” you ask without any weight as you then take a seat across from him. Your legs brushed his and he didn’t mind. He instead set the pieces back on the right place on the board without rushing.
“I’m not sure about all of that.” he says with a crooked grin.
You both didn’t finish the game. He savored it out to the point where you resigned from the match. The amount of pieces you both had were equal to each other and you know that he did it on purpose.
“This doesn’t mean you win.” you say.
“It’s a tie anyways.” he says with a grin.
“I’m going to bed.” you say. You noticed that the others weren’t in the living room with you and Edward.
“It’s still early.” he says as you rise up and he rises too. He takes your hand again, “Watch something with me.” he persuades.
“Another vintage movie?” you ask as you let him lead you to the spacious couch.
“It doesn’t have to be.” he says.
“I was just teasing.” you say. He relaxes as you sit down next to him.
He was impatient as you ate breakfast the next morning. You raise your eyebrow at him as softly drummed his fingers on the table as you took your last bites.
“Ready to go?” he asks as soon as you put your dish in the sink.
“I just got done.” you say with your hands up defensively.
You didn’t expect him to lean forward and zip your coat up for you when you were finished putting your arms through the jacket.
You watch him as he then takes your hand, leading you outside of the home. Before you knew it, you were on his back as he ran with such blurred speed.
The wind wasn’t blowing as bad as you thought it would be. The landscape looked as if it were untouched. You greedily took it all in as you were sliding off of him.
You take steps forward as it was spacious. It looked as if it could go on forever and ever. The blooming plants made you forget that it was ever chilly outside.
You look to Edward, “How do you even-” you start but look ahead again as you answered your own question.
He interlaced his hand with yours and brought you down with him. You sat close next to him as you look at the joined hands.
Not taking your eyes away, “Do you remember what I said?”
“I could’ve ran off somewhere?” he asks you and you look at him as he grins. You lift the joined hands that never detached and nudge them against him and you say, “No. Not that.”
“Then what?” he says.
“That…You know….That we’re friends.” you say as you look down. You didn’t say it out loud loudly. A loud volume of words seemed to be out of place for a scenery like the one you were at.
“I know. My Dracula mind didn’t forget.” he says and you both breath out a soft chuckle.
He watched you however, stare at the hand that he was still holding. Your face was blank but he knew that you were thinking.
“Does this inspire you?” he asks you carefully.
“Anything does.” you say.
“So does that mean….I inspire you?” he asks. He meant it as a joke but his ears heard your heart thump an extra beat.
You instead stare at the distance. You didn’t see the happiness that danced on his face.
You look back down when you felt his hand let go of yours. He is sitting back with his elbows resting beside him.
You copy him. He turns his head to look at your face. It was pleased.
“Does this feel good? On your skin I mean.” you ask.
“The weather?” he asks in confirmation. You nod.
“So so.”
“Is that your version of my ‘it’s alright’ ?” you ask and you watch as his face is full of amusement.
“Nothing beats your ‘it’s alright’. You make it so obvious.”
“Is that so?” you ask sarcastically.
“Answer this then. What do you think about the time that we spend together?” he quizzes.
“Its……” you instinctively replied but you roll your eyes as his eyebrows raise with a smile. He was ready to laugh at you.
“It’s horrible. You’re the worst person to hang out with.” you say but his melodic laugh is being heard in your ears already.
“The worst person shows you the best places.” he comments as he stared at you.
“It’s not all that great.” you mutter but his amusement never faded.
He takes your hand again and lays down on his back. He placed your hand is placed on his hard chest. The chill of his skin made little goosebumps rise on your arm. You furrow your eyebrows as you stare at the soft material of his shirt.
“What are you thinking about?” he asks you as he watched you.
“I don’t know why it never occurred to me that you don’t have to breathe. Your chest doesn’t rise up and down like mine does.” you observe.
“We don’t have to. But, it’s uncomfortable for me.” he says.
“Uncomfortable, how?”
“It’s how I sense my surroundings. Plus, it’s a familiar action.”
You nod.
“You’re so warm.” he comments.
“You’re so cold.” you comment back as he then slides your hand up to his cheek. It felt like you were touching a statue.
You couldn’t help but to feel with your hand. He lets you. Your fingers trace the smoothness of his cheek before you slide them slowly down to his jawline. His blinking starts to slow.
You had to admit, the longer your hand was on his skin, the surface of it didn’t feel freezing. Your body temperature adjust to the touch. You peer down as your hand was now rising on his forehead. Slightly hooded eyes stared back at you with such intensity, in the pit of your stomach a wave of sensational energy violently fluttered about. Your hand slides up and disappears into his hair and you pull your hand away like it was fire. You didn’t expect it to feel like rich silk. Sitting up fast but nervously, you try to keep your breath even.
“Something wrong?” he asks as your eyes wildly look everywhere but him.
“Are you sure you weren’t dazzling me?” you softly ask with your eyes closed. You sit with your knees up to your chest. He sits up as well, he’s forearms rest against his knees. He’s very close and tilts his head to have a better look at your face.
“No. I wouldn’t do that to you.”
You don’t look at him.
“Is that why you’re scared to look at me?” he asks quietly but it sends a chill in your ear.
You slowly turn your head to his direction but your eyes are still down. Your eyes watched as he didn’t have to wear a jacket, traveling up his shoulder, that’s when seen a glint hit his exposed neck. It reminded you like a gem. You let your eyes travel up more, you mentally kick yourself for them to land at his lips, because when you look up into his set of eyes, his gaze is on yours as well. It’s very in tune. A look of yearning that almost scared you.
You were afraid to react, not out of fear, but you didn’t know how to react. Your breath changed its pattern when his hand slowly reached out. You eyes fluttered closed as you felt the soft but firm brush of the hook of his index finger traveling down your cheek. It was like he knew right where touch.
Without missing a beat, his finger hooked under your chin. A thumb follows, brushing across the bottom of your lip, which causes it to crack open just slightly. He hears the quiet but shaky that flowed out. You close the crack of your mouth and you blink. His hand now cradled the side of your face. You place a hand over his, matching your fingers up with his. It was as if he was trying to figure you out with the way he was looking.
His hand traveled down to the side of your neck. You keep looking ahead at him as he now holds the nape of your neck. Before you know it, he’s on his back from sitting up and your head is close to his chest. He holds you close this way. You place a hand on his chest, lifting your head lightly to look at him and he had a look of contentment. Your hand slides up his chest, all the way up to his cheek.
He turns his head and you close your eyes as you felt his lips brush the front of your throat. Your head moves down slowly as your forehead and now against his. Both of your eyes are closed, both of his eyes are closed. Noses touched.
You then open your eyes and sit up slowly. His hand falls majestically from the nape of your neck, now around your waist and you are on your side. You watch as his face looks and faces up to the sky. He breathes in and his eyes fall to a close.
You both take your time walking. You both brush against one another with the steps that were being taken.
He pushed open the door to the home that contained his family. Your arm is stretched from him tugging on your hand, the same hand he made sure to keep a hold of.
Your fingers are holding the white sheet on paper. The crease lines were still evident but you continue to stare at the drawing.
“You still have this.” you state as you continue to look at the photorealistic image in your hands.
“I keep it on me when you’re not around.” he states.
You’re eyes look up and a lax smile stretched on your features, “Like you miss me that bad.”
As you stand in front of him, paper in your hands, he’s sitting on the couch that’s in his room. His hands are on your leg as he looked up at you, “I even miss you when you’re asleep.”
His hand is smothered over your hand as it rests on the table. You ate the dinner that Esme learned to make. Her smile was big when you complimented it.
You sat against the headboard, knees up with your sketchbook resting in your lap. Your hand worked the page as you drew in colors. Putting your own twist to the field you saw today. The scenery being drawn gave you a sense of utopia.
You yawned as you felt your eyes droop. You turn off the lamp and drift off to sleep.
You felt something ticklish in your hand. You tossed and turned your head as you thought it was in your dream but your body gained consciousness. You blink open your eyes to see Edward’s fingers lightly touch yours.
You turn over and groan a little, “My mouth was open and everything.”
A light chuckle comes from him, “You’re fine.”
You sit up straighter on the headboard and he has a seat on the edge of your bed. He picks up the book that was resting beside you. You rub your eyes as he takes a long look.
“Is this the place we went yesterday?” he softly asks.
You pull the book from his hands as you felt a touch of embarrassment, you stuffed the feeling down as he looked at the new spot your set it at.
“It’s really good. You made it better than it actually is.” he says to you.
“No, that sight was amazing.” you disagree.
“That picture was amazing.” he says and you give him an amused look. You get out of bed.
In the sunroom, you lounged as you were focused in your sketchbook. You had received an email and Larry wanted to see if you could make another piece for his gallery to start the new month coming up, off to a great start.
You sketched of ideas but nothing seemed to stick.
You grunt as your brain ran out of ideas. It started to travel elsewhere. Your hands were craving something but you didn’t know what.
The others came back from hunting but Edward didn’t. You tried your best to not ask where he was, you felt like it would give something away if you did. You just didn’t know what.
That night, you helped Esme build minutare models of her interior designs that reflected her blueprint sketches.
You thought about making a minutare home like how you were helping Esme with but, you didn’t know how to amplify it. You wanted to make something so good that it shocked you.
“How was you and Edward’s outing yesterday?” Esme softly asks as she paints a mini chair in her hands.
“It was good, he showed me the most amazing field of nature where flowers bloomed. I drew what I saw. I have to show you.” you say.
“I would love to see it.” she comments as she sets the chair down to dry.
You silently paint a chair of your own until the question wouldn’t stop eating at your brain, “Where is he?”
“He told us he was making a quick trip. He told me to tell you that he will be back before you know it.”
You nod as you set down the chair to dry.
It was still early when you were woken up out of your sleep. You decide to use the bathroom and brush your teeth. You lay back down. You don’t want to head downstairs just yet.
You close your eyes. You hear the door creak open. You slowly open your eyes and see Edward smiling softly down at you. He’s sitting close to where you’re laying.
You sit your body up and before you could hesitate, you wrap your arms around him in a hug. He’s been gone for three days.
“Are…Are you alright?” you ask him as your chin rests on his shoulder.
His hand brushed your back, creating a chill down your spine.
“I am now.” he says.
You pull back and he watched you with a warm expression. His hand comes up to brush your cheek and your eyes immediately close with a flutter at the fact. You tried to calm your breathing from starting to shake.
You learned another song. This time you didn’t care about the trial and error. Your fingers flexed in the keys as you tried to play the full variation that he taught you. Edward sat next to you, his arm wrapped around your lower back with his hand resting on the outer part of your thigh.
Rosalie walks past, “You’re lucky Y/N. He acts funny when I ask to play his piano.”
“You play?” you ask impressed.
“She plays sometimes.” Edward brushed off.
“I’m the next musically inclined after you, Edward. Don’t start.” she seethed. A smile cracks your lips.
Esme allowed you to work in an art studio that she had. In under the condition of, “Please show me what you make.”
You forgot to close the door all of the way. As you paint the base colors on your canvas, you catch Edward walking in, in the corner of your eye.
You slow your movements, your mind focused on how you were being perceived.
His hands were in his pockets he watched you work without confidence.
“What about people watching you work make you nervous?” he asks.
You grip your wooden brush tighter in your hand as you blink at the material.
“I don’t know…It just happens to be that I do best when I’m alone.”
“When did you realize this?”
You turn your head at where he’s standing and grin, “I don’t know. Are you trying to distract me or something?”
“No. If I wanted to distract you, I would’ve done it by now.” he says. You roll your eyes playfully.
You kept smudging the colors, having to continue to redo sections over. You shook your head as you mumbled out disapproval statements. What seemed stressful to you, seemed like inspiration to him.
He sat in the room as he felt like it was a sight too see.
“Do you want to take a break?” he asks as he watched you wipe your forehead with the back of the long sleeve shirt you wore.
You shrug and turn the canvas around and stomp out. He follows you out. You stomp up the stairs. You try to close the bedroom door without looking but he kept it from shutting as he followed you.
You flopped across the bed on your stomach. Your head rest on your folded arms.
“Stop being so hard on yourself.” he speaks out.
“Edward, let me sulk.”
“Sulking isn’t going to make you finish.” he says with a hand resting on your back.
“It’s so bad, it would be a sin to approve of that.” you say in defeat.
“The only sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing.”
He watched you sit up and look square at him.
“I know where you got that from.” you say.
He brings on a grin.
“Who?” he quizzed.
“Dostoyevsky. Now, this is a serious matter. I don’t want to work on my birthday.” you groan and lay back on your stomach.
”Pace yourself. Allow yourself to embrace your human flaws.”
“That’s not helping.” you say muffled as your face was down with defeat. There was silence. But your mind wasn’t.
He watched as you slowly rise and head back into the art studio as you left in. You cut up cardboard. You plug in a glue gun. You get to work.
Edward comes in right when you paint over the last bit of your newly designed piece. You feel him over your shoulder and is glad that the weight is off of yours.
“That looks like us.” he says.
“That’s because you want it to be.” you say to him but to be fair, you just did what you felt.
Esme stared at it in awe. The smile on her face looked proud in a way. It was so good, she gave you a hug.
You left the piece in there to dry and you tiredly rub your hands together underneath the running water. It was late into the night. You were able to head off upstairs for bed until you feel a hand tug your hand to guide you to the kitchen.
“I’m tired.” you softly whine.
“You haven’t eaten since early this morning.” he says. You ate fast so you can lay down.
However, your bedroom was feeling a bit hot due to the heat that blew from the vents.
“Do….” you shake your head and say, “Goodnight.”
Before you bury yourself fully under the covers, he steps away from the doorway.
“What were you going to say?”
“It’s a bit…Hot.” you say. Edward then steps forward.
“You need to cool down?” he asks carefully and you nod.
You didn’t know what you were expecting but he lay close to you. A much needed chill ran through your body as you lie on your stomach and his hand is flat on your back.
You woke up to a whisper. You couldn’t figure out what it said but your body shifts into consciousness. A hand runs down the back of your shoulder and you open your eyes.
“Happy birthday.”
“Thanks.” you say with a tired grin.
You sit up and stretch. You get his attention.
“See? Imagine if I didn’t get done yesterday.” you point out.
He grins and nods in agreement.
Before you could process anything else, Alice bursts through your bedroom and you smile as she wrapped her arms around you. The hug was firmer than usual as she was excited.
“Happy birthday!” she squeals.
“Thank you, thank you.”
She pulls your hands up and you’re up and out of bed.
“I have your birthday outfit. I’m going to go get it. Edward out.” she shoos off.
“Wait, Y/N. Just come with me I have to show you something.” he says.
“Let her get herself together first.” Alice says as her eyes roll.
You hold up a hand to Edward with a smile, “It will be quick. I’m just getting dressed.”
You stood in the mirror and you immediately got nervous. The outfit was good. Too good. It looked as if you could be in fashion week with the matching set. She tugged your hand to go downstairs but you resist.
She watched you as you sit down in a chair. You keep your legs together as you were wearing a skirt.
“You…Don’t like it?” she asks as you looked down. Your face didn’t show enjoyment.
You look up at her and you reassured her crushed face, “Alice stop it, I love it. It’s just…” you stop and she sits on your bed as she peered ahead at you.
“What is it?”
“I’m nervous.” you reveal.
“Don’t be. You’re about to be surrounded by people who can’t wait to celebrate your special day.” she says. You nod. A phone call makes your phone buzz beside you and you pick it up.
“Happy birthday, Y/N.” you hear and you smiled.
“Thanks, Emily.”
“Any plans? What are you doing?”
“I don’t know. I’m going with the flow of today.” you say.
“Well, I won’t hold you but, I miss you so much! I know you’re out there doing great things and I just wanted to say how proud I am of you but I know that you will get through anything.” she says. You knew what she was implying, you tell her you miss her too. You really did. You followed Alice down the stairs, the small clack was heard from the footwear Alice brought to go along perfect with what you had on.
Edward was waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs.
“Okay. I’m all yours.” you say. Without missing a beat, Edward says, “Look outside.”
You open the grand front door and outside sits a luxurious car with a present bow sitting prettily on top.
You turn and sees Edward’s smile directed towards you.
“Happy birthday.” he says again. You gasp and bend your knees slightly in disbelief, “Edward.” you say. He chuckles at your reaction.
“Edward, are you….Fucking kidding me?” you say with shock and he pulls out the keys, dangling them and you were in total disbelief as your hand closed around them.
You grab the keys and his hands, “Edward. This isn’t real.” you say. You don’t know if you’re trying to convince him or yourself. Alice had a camera at hand, smiling at the moment.
He peers down at you as he takes your hand and opens the driver door with his other hand.
You were overwhelmed. He watched from the passenger seat as you touched the steering wheel with such care. It was almost as if you were afraid to touch it.
He starts the car for you and the engine purred to life. It rode really smooth as you test drove it. You couldn’t stop smiling.
He soaked in the hug that you gave him as you kept telling him thank you. His arms were snug around your waist.
You received hugs and received “Happy birthday”s from the rest of the family.
Esme made you breakfast and held out your plate.
You slowly chewed and looked at Edward who smothered your hand that was on the table you say at.
“I can’t eat. I’m too excited.”
A crooked smile hit your way, “No, no. Eat.”
Your head was on his shoulder as you sat next to him on the piano bench. He played a happy birthday song with his fingers. It was just the two of you.
He held your hand as you both took slow steps in the museum you both were in. By the time you two were in an art gallery, his arm was snug around your shoulders.
He held you close as you entered the home and the Cullen family screamed, “Happy birthday.”
You let out a thank you as the room was filled with balloons and on the wall was balloons that spelled out, “Happy Birthday.”
Alice shoved her present in your hands.
“Sheesh, already?” you ask.
“Yes! Now open it!” she says. You rip it open and it was a black box. You crack it open and it was a Van Cleef bracelet.
“Oh my god.” you say in shock. You dangle it with your fingers as you take a look at it.
“Do you like it?” she asks.
“Yes.” you breathed out, “Alice, I can’t accept this-”
“It’s my gift to you! Happy birthday.” she says with a bright smile. You give her a hug and as Rose steps forward, Edward clasped the bracelet around your wrist.
“Here’s mine.” she says and you take it.
“I’m scared. We already started off strong.” you say and soft chuckles fill the room.
You crack open Rose’s gift and it was a necklace from the same brand.
“I got you the necklace to match with the bracelet.” she says. You thank her immensely and give her a hug. She carefully placed the necklace around your neck.
Emmett excitedly gives you your gift. You tear it open and you start laughing. A handheld game box was now in your hands.
“Thank you.” you say and give him a hug and he says, “I already added myself as a friend.”
“Of course you did.” you say with a smile.
Jasper hands you your gift and it was games to go with the game. You hug him.
Esme and Carlisle hand you a gift with smiles on their faces.
Tearing it open, you gasp and you almost started to tear up.
“You guys can’t be serious.” you say and they’re smiling.
“We feel like you should have something from one of the greats.” Carlisle says.
“One day, you will be up there with one of the greats.” Esme says and you shake your head.
“No.” you say and they disagree.
You have Edward hold the painting, you hug them both.
“Thank you so much.”
Rose, Alice, and Esme disappeared in the kitchen. Emmett didn’t waste any time to tell you to get on your new gadget.
Edward haves a seat in a chair. You feel him touch your hand. You look up to him and he tugs your hand to pull you to where he was sitting.
You slowly sit down and your shoulder leans against his chest as you and Emmett play together on your handheld game. His hand rests on your knee. You laughed at Emmett’s competitive nature.
Alice bounced out, her camera was in hand. You set the game to the side as Rose and Esme brought out homemade ice cream and cake.
“Smile!” Alice says with a smile. You give a polite smile and Edward wraps his arms tight around your waist and he slumps you to him. You both face the camera. The camera flashes and you rise up meet them as they walk to you with a lit up cake.
Happy birthday was being sung and Alice snapped pictures while singing in high octave that was above everyone else.
You close your eyes with a smile and then blew out the candles.
As you cut your own slice of cake, Edward taps you. You turn around a very large bouquet of flowers that bloomed strong.
Your hands go to your mouth as you gasp. He places them in your arms with a content smile. You set them down on a table and your arms wrap around him. He sways you side to side for a bit.
You both sit across from each other as he held the spoon out. He fed you the homemade ice cream.
“It was really great. Thank you.” you tell Rosalie and Esme and they both are pleased that you liked it.
Edward holds out a wrapped gift and you look at him. You both were sitting on the couch in his bedroom.
“You already got me something.” you say.
“I know but, you will like this.” he says with a hand on your back.
You pulled out a cd player that operated on both being bluetooth and wired. He watched as your smile grew.
“There’s already a cd in there.” he says.
You go to pop it open but he places a hand on your hand to halt you. You look at him.
“Just play it.” he says. You nod and you say, “Be right back.”
You grab your headphones and sit down back next to him. After connecting your headphones, you extend a headphone for him to stick on his own ear. He gladly sticks it in his ear and you click the play button.
You softly chuckle as the song was familiar. You were in shock.
You take the headphone out as the song ended. You look at him.
“How did you do this?” you ask.
He brings on a soft grin, “I pulled some strings.”
You pop open the cd player and lift up the cd, reading it out loud.
“Y/N and Edward piano duet.”
He sticks his hand in his pocket and pulls out a folded piece of paper, handing it to you.
“Now, what is this?” you ask him.
“Something I made.” he says softly.
“Before I read this, answer me something?” you ask him.
“Anything.”
“What’s your motive?” you ask as you look down.
“My motive is to always be around you. To get to know all of you.”
You breathe in as you unfold the paper and read the note in your mind.
Can feelings shared , be set to unfold?
Offering my heart for you to hold.
The sweetest music I have found
The ring of your laughter, such a joyous sound.
Wanting to learn your thoughts, dreams and fears
And to whisper secrets in your ears.
Breathing life into me with such ease
Drawing me to you compellingly.
Here I stand with a hopeful plea
To conquer this world, just you and me.
Your eyes travel to the bottom of the page, it showcased a drawing that he did by hand, it was with pen. Permanent.
Two figures were together, holding each other close, depicting such devotion.
You slowly look from the page, your heart rate was higher than normal. He was waiting for your reaction and you swallowed and refolded the paper.
“But, I’m a human.” you say sadly. You felt it couldn’t work.
“It doesn’t matter to me.”
When you don’t say anything a hand holds yours as he continues, “You showed me there’s more to my soulless life. You’re my angel.”
You were overwhelmed with emotion.
You tried to cloud your brain with activities to make yourself not think about what happened. You didn’t have a definite answer.
So you joined Alice as she danced. You would’ve thought it was her birthday as she had so much fun. Jasper couldn’t help but join his wife with a smile.
You blinked awake as you tossed and turned that night.
Edward was gone in the morning. You wondered if it was because of the day prior.
He came back right when it was time to leave, you had to drop your piece off to Larry.
“You can drive…If you want.” you say as Edward put your bags in the trunk. To be fair you didn’t trust yourself to be on the road.
He drove as you looked out of the window. You glanced at him as he was in his own head.
“Say something, please.” you say softly. The silence weighed heavy in the atmosphere.
He stared ahead and he seemed conflicted.
“I said everything I needed to say.” he says quietly.
You look down.
Larry chuckles richly as you unveiled the piece. Larry greedily looked as he walked around it. He claps his hands together before turning to you with a big smile.
He then gives you a present.
You look down in surprise.
“Open it up.” he says with a grin.
You rip it open and pull out a subtle but diamond studded watch. It dazzled brightly and you look at him.
“Happy belated birthday.” he says and you give him a big hug.
You come out, Edward hold the door open for you. You slide in the car and he catches the flashy watch.
“Larry gave that to you?” he asks. You nod.
“Did he not like it? You look a little down.” he says.
“He loved it actually.” you say softly chuckling. He hums a response. It’s silent again. When he slows to a stop in front of your apartment building, you turn to him.
“You can….Come up if you want.” you sheepishly say.
He thinks for a moment, before saying, “I didn’t eat today. I’m going to hunt.”
You nod.
“I’ll bring your stuff up.” he tells you and gets out.
Before he leaves out of the door, you hug him. Your head was in the middle of his chest. He looks down as he holds you back.
“Are you sure it doesn’t matter?” you choke out.
He takes a hold on your shoulders and looks you in the eye, “It doesn’t matter. I only want you.”
Your body feels hot at his words.
“Will…Will you come back?” you ask.
“If you want me to….Do you want me to?” he asks.
“Yes.” you say.
He leans forward slowly, you feel his cool lips touch your forehead. You close your eyes as he lingers on your forehead.
You hung your painting up in your living room, you step back and fix the crookedness of it.
The flowers sprouted out of the clear vase that Alice had set on the table.
You sat by the window in your bedroom as you sketched idly. You paused as you couldn’t help but flip back to the page of when you two were in Ithaca, the big field.
You stare at it. The buzz of your doorbell jumps you out of your thoughts. You rise up and walk slowly towards the door and unlock it.
You lie on your back, your head is turned in his direction. He watches you as he lies next to you.
His hand cradles your cheek and you both blink at each other. You slide your hand up to his, to hold onto your cheek. It was as if marble was touching you, but the hand cooled down your burning cheek.
Faces were close together as you both flutter your eyes to a close. Softly his lips brushed yours in a gentle way.
He pulled away but you chased for more. You both meet each other again, you hold him close so he doesn’t pull back fast.
His eyes squeezed shut as your fingers made him feel something that felt foreign to him. It was a rush. He knew that if he was human, his body would be filled with butterflies.
Next to you on your nightstand, a printed out picture of you and Edward from your birthday was faced up.
You both silently look at each other as you both lie close. You didn’t want to feel nothing else but the feeling that you were feeling right now. A wave of serenity. With that, the sappy smile was on his face was contagious, as you matched it.
It took some getting used to, but you found out that Edward was scared to open mouth kiss.
He didn’t know what would happen if you were to accidentally swallow his saliva, his venom. Alternatives had to be made. He didn’t mind the fact that you liked to kiss him on his face, not always on his lips.
Your contract ended, you sat in Larry’s office as he looked right at you. Edward sat next to you in a pair of sunglasses.
“So when’s the wedding?” Larry asks. The ring sat strong on your finger. It was Edward’s mother’s. You wore it with pride.
You look to Edward and he replies, “Next month.”
Larry looked at the two of you.
“So, what are you going to do Y/N? Are you extending it with me?”
You suck in a breath as you shake your head.
“We’re- I’m going to relocate.” you tell him.
“Okay, where? I even have a gallery in London. We made great business together.”
You nod, “Yes, I know. But, I need to branch out more. I don’t want to be stagnant.”
“You weren’t stagnant with me.” he pleads.
“It was nice doing business with you, but I got a better opportunity in France.” you say.
“Who’s representing you?” he presses.
“Nobody. I’m going independent.” you say. He accepts this but, he was sad to see you go.
You hold Edward’s hand as Alice shows you everyone she invited.
“Don’t you think we should elope instead?” you ask.
“No, silly! This is a celebration! Everyone has to come.” she says.
Edward turns to you, “If you want to elope we can.”
Alice’s face falls and you quickly say, “It’s alright. We can elope first and then have the wedding to the public.”
She brightens up and claps with excitement.
The climate was warm. Edward’s eyes came alive as you stood in front of him. The ceremony was small and in an intimate setting.
Carlisle married you both on your elopement. Edward carefully kissed you as he cupped your cheek and his family were the only ones who were in attendance. You didn’t mind since you weren't nervous around them.
The island that Esme gifted you both was where you both sat and looked at each other with anticipation.
He was the one who wanted to wait.
“The first time I want to make love, it will be with my wife.” he told you one night as you tried to feel him up. You understood.
Now, it was you who was nervous. He was the one who had to reassure you. You didn’t expect his cool skin to feel good against yours, but to be fair, the air in the bedroom had raised in temperature.
You suck in a breath as your legs were over his shoulders, he kept whispering how beautiful you were.
Your fingers twist in the sheets at the sensation. As he kept pumping, your body got used to it. Gasps of pleasure breathed out of your mouth. He was firm and it hit the right spots that has you trembling with ease. You then knew that he was perfect all the way around.
He didn’t last long but you didn’t care, he was a virgin after all.
He couldn’t get enough. The next morning, he held you close he rocked into you. The bed under you both gave out, you panicked only for a second but, he gave you a kiss as he told you, “Don’t worry about it.”
Kim whispered as Jared listened closely. He was sad.
Paul walked in. He changed, his presence was on edge, if people feared him then, they definitely feared him now.
“What’s going on?” he asks as they both went quiet as soon as he entered.
Kim worriedly looked at Jared.
“I’ll tell him.” he tells her. She nods and leaves out of the kitchen of the home her and Jared had gotten together.
“You might want to sit down for this.” Jared tells his friend.
“Who died?” he asks.
“Nobody… Kim ran into Y/N’s parents.” Jared says and Paul responds to your name. He still felt the feelings, your name still affected him. He felt one day you were going to change your mind.
“She okay?”
“I don’t know. She’s getting married and they asked her if she was going to the ceremony.”
Paul snorts, “Who’s the square?”
Jared watched as Paul contorts into a fit of rage, even that he’s never seen before. A mixture of hurt and betrayal was deep in his features.
When Sam went to look for him, the thoughts in his wolf mind was dark. He knew then that he went rogue. Paul had successfully detached himself from the pack.

Could I ask for an adult Sasuke x Naruto's twin brother? Like while Naruto has his dad's looks but his mom's personality, his twin brother has their mom's look and their dad's personality?
Welcome back to tumblr writing! I missed your writing - 🩶 (I'm so sorry if this anon is taken. It's my first time using an anon 😅)

SOMETIMES it was hard to tell how you and naruto were related besides in semi looks. you were more like your father, humble and collective as well as kind. and naruto was just..well, he was naruto. compared to naruto, sasuke didn’t mind how you clung to him whenever you had the chance but of course sakura hated it but oh well, she couldn’t do much but sulk in some corner.
AS the two of you grew up, sasuke had gradually grown an attraction to you but it wasn’t too obvious of course so you never entirely knew though he was pretty protective over you and would always insist on going places with you just to make sure you were safe. this allowed kakashi to already get a little hint he liked you, but he wanted you to figure it out on your own rather than someone telling you. it would be all the more romantic anyways.
AND so here the two of you were, both grown adults and living out their own lives. sasuke’s crush for you hadn’t wilted not once in those years and today was the day he was going to confess to you in hopes you would reciprocate his fillings. “hello.” sasuke said with a small smile as he took a seat next to you causing you to smile, your usual bright smile. “hey sasuke, how’re you? how was that mission kakashi sent you on?” you asked as you rested your elbow against the table you sat at allowing your cheek to rest on the palm of your hand. “it was alright, not much happened but i’ve been thinking for some time now..” mumbled sasuke as he didn’t break eye contact with you.
YOUR beautiful gray eyes were always so calming to him after all you did inherit it from your mother as well as your red hair. “and what have you been thinking about?” you asked him with a raised brow, ever so curious as to what has been on your friends mind for the longest now. “not much, just thinking about how we’ve been throughout all these years. and how i’ve liked you a lot for said years, more than a ‘friend’ really should.” he hummed softly causing your eyes to widen and cheeks to flush rather quickly as you blinked a couple times. “..really?” you asked him, your voice softer now as your heart beater in your chest like a drum, its pounding sound loud in your ears. sasuke nodded his head a little as he looked off to the side a bit, his pale cheeks flushed a tad bit though it was noticeable. “i want to spend to rest of my life with you only if you’re alri—” “YES YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!” you practically screamed out and hugged sasuke ever so tightly, probably squeezing the daylight out of him in the process.
SASUKE let out a breathy chuckle as he hugged you back, liking the warmth your body brought and hearing how happy you sounded. “i’m glad you like me just as much as i like you.” you sighed out and placed a small kiss to the other man’s cheek causing his cheeks to flush a lot more than before. “i can’t wait to spend my life with you, my god, i need to go tell naruto and kakashi! those two were betting if you liked me or not.” you exclaimed and quickly sat up before placing another kiss to sasuke’s cheek and quickly left leaving him in cloud 9.

I’m sorry I’m being so annoying but I check your blog everyday to see if you posted the spicy/panic fic, do you think you will? Or have you already and I’m blind??
Sorry I’m just looking forward to it.
I hope you’re having a great Xmas angel
Not To Blame | Daryl Dixon x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Talks of bondage and panic attacks.
A/N: I’m so sorry for the wait, anon! I completely forgot to post it. Now this only references what happened because I had a hard time writing the actual spicy part that lead up to everything, but I hope this is still somewhat okay!
It all happened so fast.
One moment, you’re straddling Daryl’s lap, tongue-deep in his mouth, grinding your hips against his like your life depended on it. The next moment, you could clearly sense your partner’s distress, his breathing turning shallow and sounding choked up, his body tensing and his chest rising and falling in an unsteady rhythm. Although you could have easily mistaken it as pleasure, you knew the archer, and you knew that he was in the midst of a panic attack.
Everything frisky ended the moment you had realized that. You had clambered off of him, and untied the ropes binding him to the headboard of the bed—the bindings being the sole reason that the love of your life had trouble breathing and he had tears in his eyes.
You sighed as you walked from the kitchen and back to the bedroom, a glass of water in your hand. You felt terrible about what happened. It had been your suggestion to try bondage in the first place. Although Daryl had seemed rather intrigued by the idea, you should have known better. Daryl had so many bad memories linked with being tied up. You should have known that something like this would happen.
Stepping into your shared bedroom and closing the door behind you, you sent a small, tentative smile towards Daryl. The man in question was sitting up in the bed, his eyes still a little blood shot from the tears he had shed earlier when you had helped calm him down. When he saw you, he offered up a weak smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“I have your water,” you began softly, slowly making your way over to him. You handed him the glass of the cool liquid and sat down next to him on the bed, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder and rubbing soothing circles on his flesh with your thumb. “Do you need anything else?”
Daryl took a sip from the glass, before pursing his lips and shaking his head. “Nah,” he replied, his voice shaky and a tad bit gruffer than normal. “M’alright.”
You frowned slightly. “You sure?” There was a few beats of silence after the crossbow-wielding archer nodded, before you spoke up again. “I’m so sorry, Dar.”
It was Daryl’s turn to frown. “Why’re you sorry? You didn’t do nothin’.”
You shook your head in denial. “I’m sorry for placing you in that awful position. I should have known better.” Daryl opened his mouth to say something, but you cut him off. “Don’t try to downplay what happened and say that it was nothing to spare my feelings. I’m not looking for pity. I just want you to know that I’m sorry about what happened, okay? And I don’t want you to try and make me feel better. Let me take care of you for a change, okay?”
A genuine smile spread across Daryl’s face this time. He nodded and placed the glass down on the nightstand. “Yes, ma’am,” he said, placing his large hand on your thigh. “But I dun’ want’cha to blame yourself, alright? I know what I was gettin’ myself into when you suggested we try bondage. S’not your fault. S’all trial and error, and now we know s’not somethin’ m’into.”
“I guess so, but I definitely would have preferred never trying it in the first place than having you go through that,” you told him, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Me too.” A good minute of silence passed, before you lifted your head and stood up, much to Daryl’s chagrin. “What’re ya doin’?” he inquired, his ocean-coloured eyes following your figure as you stalked towards the bathroom.
He soon got his answer when he heard the shower start running. A few seconds later, you walked out of the bathroom and towards him, took his hands in yours, tugged him up from the bed and lead him into the already steam filled room.
“Let me take care of you. You said I could. Let’s get you cleaned up and ready for bed,” you reminded him, gently beginning to fiddle with the buttons on his sleeveless shirt. “And no further funny business tonight.”
Daryl smiled, and allowed you to help him out of his shirt, his heart swelling with love for you. “Yes, ma’am.”

Caitvi will always be very special in my heart because what do you mean some company gave a green light to a lesbian love story about more than unconditional love, a lesbian love story about unconditional acceptance and affection.
We never see none of them say sorry (except when Vi ask Caitlyn to not change) but they are accepting each other over and over no questions asked, like when they leave Stillwater and Caitlyn have the tickets so they can go to Zaun using conventional means but Vi just jump head first into the craziest parkour deep down the buildings and Caitlyn just follows her even she had no idea where she was or even if Vi would be waiting for her down there. She gets mad but she just accept the stolen clothes and let it go.
Vi left her at the brothel to go head first into a fight with Sevika, almost got herself killed, was saved last minute by Caitlyn and they just start a banter (?). Vi calls her cupcake and tells her she’s an alright shot and that’s her way to say “oh my bad I fucked things up” to which Caitlyn just FLIRTS BACK with that playful “I’m an excellent shoot” and also this is the moment Caitlyn share her name with Vi, this is Caitlyn saying “I’m mad but I accept your clumsy apology”.
Then Caitlyn finds out Vi knew since their meeting with Sevika that her sister was Jinx (the terrorist), they got captured by Ekko and the firelights but without knowing that Vi its actually ok and Ekko it’s her family she was ready to give herself to save Vi, again accepting that even though Vi got them kidnapped she does not care because she’s actually more worried than mad.
After that Vi decide to go back after Jinx, everything it’s blown up by Jinx yet again and Caitlyn conforms Vi in her bed by being the first person in the whole series to tell her “what happened to your sister it’s not your fault”. Council meet goes wrong Vi left and go head first into danger yet again and Caitlyn it’s not actually mad at her when season 2 starts, she falls into Vi arms without thinking expecting Vi will catch her.
And to make this post short season 2 they break up because even though Caitlyn got her back all the time Vi deny her the only thing Caitlyn ask her because it’s too much, Caitlyn goes on her soft evil arc because she’s trapped by Ambessa and after their first meeting what Caitlyn does? She got Vi’s back again! She started a war, left Vi choose Jinx and release her, she betrayed and army because she accept and love Vi unconditionally.
I really hope we will see some amazing lesbian stories like this soon rather than later, took me almost 30 years to see one, hopefully it will take shorter for the next one.

christmas fluff! maybe a festive dinner with the team - so like carol, yelena, nat and as many or little characters you like and the others make fun of how of the lovebirds (reader x carol danvers or yelena) :D
Lovers
Pairing: Carol Danvers x GN! Reader
Summary: The team playful tease how cute you and Carol are.
Fluff
Warnings: EVERY light suggestive flirting | 1.1K
AC: Thank you for sending this! I hope you enjoy! x
Holiday Special Masterlist
The compound was filled with the smell of roasted turkey, spiced cranberry sauce and other cooked goodies. Christmas decorations covered the compound like it was the North Pole. A large table was set in the dining room with festive decorations surrounding the long table with enough food to feed an army.
You and your girlfriend, Carol, were in the kitchen in matching Christmas sweaters, chopping up vegetables to help Wanda with her dish. If her hands weren’t handling a knife and vegetables, they were wrapped around you from behind as she placed soft kisses on your cheeks.
“Hey lovebirds!” Natasha called, arms crossed over her chest with a teasing grin on her lips, “are you two actually helping over there? We’re getting hungry” she chuckled.
You turned to face Natasha, “we’re helping more than you are” you shot back in a playful tone. Carol chuckled, “Just be glad we’re slaving away in the kitchen when we could be out fighting crime!”
“That’s the spirit!” Clint added as he strolled in wearing a reindeer antler headband that Kate had clearly made him wear.
As the banter continued, Tony entered the room holding a bottle of whiskey. “Look at you two, giving off major ‘holiday card’ vibes!” He teased, making the other chuckle as he placed the bottle on the countertop. “Oh shit, sorry Stark, we forgot to send you one!” Carol replied with a playful eyeroll.
“Don’t worry, I think I’m seeing it in 4K” he replied.
The playful teasing didn’t end there. As everybody was finally gathered around the table, enjoying light chatter while they downed eggnog and did their best to not pick at the food in front of them until it was time to eat, the teasing was still being thrown like a snowball find.
Sam leaned back in his seat, watching as you and Carol took your seats beside one another. “You two know you are like the unofficial Christmas couple of the Avengers now, right? People are going to start hanging mistletoe everywhere!”
You laughed at your friends words, “oh no, trust me, the world isn’t ready for Carol under a mistletoe!” You said with a grin. Carol leaned closer to you, her voice low, “I know exactly where I’d want a mistletoe placed” she winked.
“OH COME ON!” Sam called out, “NOT AT THE TABLE!” He added, making you and Carol blush.
“Come on Sam, leave the lovers alone. It’s not their fault your sad and bitter on Christmas” Bucky inserted earning himself a playful punch in the shoulder from his friend. “That one hurt, buck” Sam chuckled.
“Alright let’s make a toast” Steve stood up, raising his glass of eggnog. Everybody became quiet, waiting for Steve’s words of wisdom before digging into the feast on the table. “May the lovebirds love be stronger than Thor’s hammer and as enduring as Natasha’s, that’s the saying? Sass?” He started.
“Oh god, stop while you can Steve!” Natasha said, as the others laughed.
“All jokes aside, I hope this new year brings us less trouble and more moments like these” Steve added.
“Cheers!” Everybody said in sync before taking a sip of their drink.
With every passing moment, teasing comments were thrown here and there as the evening unfolded. In the midst of all the jokes and friendly banter, you and Carol found yourselves lost in each other’s eyes, fully embracing the holiday spirit with love and happiness. You both didn’t care that you were both the core of everybody’s entertainment, it was something you had prepared yourself for since Carol told everybody who her special somebody was.
“See, they’re got some kind of love language going on over there!” Kate pointed out as you and Carol locked hands under the table. Kate turned to face Yelena, giving her a soft grin.
“Kate Bishop don’t even think about it” Yelena playfully shook her head, “you already have many odd languages I do not understand” she added. You and Carol chuckled at the couple.
There were plenty of moments where you and Carol weren’t the center of everybody’s jokes, Steve got handed his fair share, and so did Peter and Kate. As everybody slowly downed their food and the room was full of laughter and chatter, you took a moment to just admire this giant family you and your girlfriend were a part of. Everybody came together as one, even if there was a bit of banter towards you and Carol, you wouldn’t have it any other way.
“How’s the cranberry sauce?” Carol asked, eyeing the small blob on your plate.
“It’s really good, do you want to try?” You asked, looking over at her. She smiled softly with a light nob before you scooped a small amount onto your spoon and fed it to her.
“Awww!!” Kate sang as she watched.
Bruce, playfully rolling his eyes, “don’t encourage them, please” he murmured.
“Hey, you guys are the ones who can’t seem to keep your eyes off us!” You chuckled as Carol hummed in approval of the sauce. “Besides, it’s our first Christmas, what did you expect?” Carol added.
“Watching you two is like watching a rom-com in real life! Linda, are you recording this?” Clint teased, earning himself a playful slap from his wife. “Remember when we were young and in love?” She said, glaring at him in a tease.
“We’re still young” Clint replied with a cheeky grin. Linda shook her head, “I’ll remember that if we plan on having more kids!”
----
As dinner began to wrap up, dessert was served with a mix of different goods to pick from. Cookies, pies and puddings littered that now seemed to stretch endlessly. Carol, opting for a slice of pumpkin pie with some whipped cream while you opted for a small treat sized pie with custard drizzled on top.
Somewhere between taking small bites of dessert and chatting with your big, loving family, you and Carol ended up sharing your desserts and soon enough, whipped cream had found its way onto both of your noses.
“Can somebody please remind them it’s Christmas dinner, not a cheesy romance novel?” Yelena announced in a teasing tone.
“You’re all just jealous!” You replied before tilting your head slightly and kissing Carol tenderly, “they definitely are” she whispered against your lips. The room followed with playful groans.
With that, the two of you share another kiss, this one deeper and slightly longer just to tease them one last time. The world around you both began to fade as if you were in your own little universe, “Merry Christmas cutie pie” Carol smiled softly, “pun intended” she added making you chuckle.
“You’re the pumpkin of my pie” you replied, cringing at your own attempt but Carol laughed, “you’re so adorable” she said, placing one last kiss on your lips.

INNOCENCE Pt. 2
Negan × innocent reader (female)
Warnings: Loss of virginity, unprotected sex, oral sex (reader receiving), breast worshiping, naive reader, birds and bees talk..?
Note: So sorry it took so long, but there you have innocence pt. 2. Please don't come for me
"What's sex?"
The words echoed through his head, over and over like a haunting refrain. Fuck. How was he going to explain that to her? His chest tightened with every passing second, the weight of the impending conversation settling heavily in the pit of his stomach. He glanced up, only to be met with her big, glowing doe eyes, staring at him with an innocence that made him want to crawl out of his skin. She was waiting for an answer, patiently, like she always did, her face full of trust. He swallowed hard, throat dry. He knew there was nothing wrong with her asking. She was curious, that's all. It was just a question, one born out of innocence and the need to understand the world better. She had a right to ask. It’s just education, he told himself. He was right, logically speaking. Yet, logic didn’t seem to matter now, not when her gaze was so pure, so unknowing of the complicated mess his mind had turned into. His hands twitched at his sides, a nervous energy he couldn’t shake. He couldn’t even look her in the eyes for more than a few seconds without feeling like he’d betray something. How could he explain this to her without shattering that trust? Without taking away that wide-eyed innocence she carried so effortlessly? She was just asking for an answer, expecting him to have one, like he always did. But this? This was different. He wasn’t ready. His mind scrambled for the right words, but every potential response felt like it would somehow break something delicate between them. It was just a question. Why was it so hard? He bit the inside of his cheek, stalling, trying to compose himself. Still, her eyes bore into him, soft and patient, waiting. Double fuck.
''Sex?'' He asked, even though he heard her crystal clear. Maybe he was buying time, hoping the repetition would dull the impact of the question, or that maybe, just maybe, she'd change her mind and ask something else. he gave him a small nod, her expression unchanged, blinking once with that same quiet patience. ''Sex is a private thing that grown-ups do with each other to feel good together and express their love. Sometimes.''
"Have you ever done it?'' She asked.
"Oh, yeah. Have you?" Y/N shook her head. Then an idea came to his mind. He had a chance. He gets to be her first. His nervous face turned into that nasty, shit-eating grin. "No..? Wanna learn?'' She nodded again. Negan didn't really expect it to work. But typical Y/N, always wanting to learn new things. He never thought he'll be here. In his room, awake in five am to talk with Y/N about sex. "Lay down, sweetheart.''
Y/N blinked, a little unsure, but something about Negan's confidence made her follow his instruction. She laid back on the bed, her heart thudding in her chest. There was a tension in the room, heavy and charged, but it wasn’t just awkward—it was curiosity and trust, too.
Negan sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze dropping to meet hers. That smirk softened, just a little, his voice lowering as he leaned closer. “Alright, darlin’.” he murmured, his tone almost teasing. “Let’s take it slow, yeah? No rush. You comfortable?”
Y/N gave a small nod, her cheeks flushed but her eyes steady on his. “Yeah.” she said softly.
Negan chuckled, the sound warm and low, and he reached out to brush a strand of hair away from her face. “Good girl. First lesson... it's all about trust. You trust me?” Another nod. This time, her lips curved into the faintest smile. “Good.” he said, letting his grin grow wider again. “Because I’m gonna teach you everything, sweetheart. And you’re gonna love it. But you tell me if you’re not ready, got it?”
“Got it.” she whispered, her voice steady but quiet.
He kissed her. Not the rough, hurried kisses he usually gave to women, as though they were part of some transaction or fleeting distraction. No, this was different. His lips moved with an unexpected tenderness, brushing hers like a question rather than a demand. She, unsure of how to respond, stood frozen for a moment, the world narrowing to the warmth of his touch and the steady rhythm of his breathing. Slowly, almost hesitantly, her hands found their way to his hair. The softness surprised her, and she tugged at it gently, testing, grounding herself in this strange new reality.
"Is this okay?" he asked, his voice a low whisper, thick with an emotion she couldn’t quite name.
She swallowed hard, her hands still tangled in his hair. "I... I don’t know." she admitted honestly, her cheeks flushing. "But I think I don’t want you to stop."
They continued kissing on the bed, the scary, horrible world outside fading into a distant blur. Y/N's hands tangled in Negan's dark hair, pulling him closer as their lips moved together with an urgency that made her head spin. His touch was firm but teasing, his fingers brushing against her waist before trailing lower, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake. Every kiss deepened their connection, the space between them shrinking until there was nothing left but skin against skin and the heat building between them.
Negan’s lips left hers, traveling down her jaw and neck, igniting sparks wherever they landed. A soft gasp escaped her as his hands slipped beneath her shirt, his rough palms grazing the sensitive skin of her sides, and she arched instinctively into his touch. He chuckled low, the sound vibrating against her collarbone as he nipped at her skin, his confidence only spurring her desire further.
One piece of clothing after another was shed, each discarded without a second thought. The tension that had been simmering between them finally boiled over, and before either of them could fully process how far things had escalated, Y/N found herself naked beneath him. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, her cheeks flushed as she met Negan’s heated gaze.
He hovered between her thighs, his strong hands gripping her hips as if grounding himself, his smirk softer now but still carrying that signature cocky edge. His eyes roamed over her body appreciatively, his voice low and gravelly when he finally spoke. “Damn, sweetheart,” he drawled, his tone laced with desire. “You’re even more gorgeous than I imagined.”
"Negan…" Her voice was soft, barely more than a whisper, trembling with a mix of nerves and anticipation. She looked down at him, her heart racing as she watched him. His touch, his presence, everything about this moment was overwhelming in a way she hadn’t expected. Without a word, he reached up, taking one of her hands that had been tangled in his hair. His fingers wrapped around hers, firm but reassuring, before he gently intertwined them. The warmth of his touch steadied her, his thumb brushing over her knuckles in a soothing rhythm.
“It’s okay,” he murmured, his voice low and gentle, a stark contrast to its usual gravelly bravado. His dark eyes held hers, grounding her as his thumb continued its calming motion. “I’ve got you. Just… trust me.”
Her breathing steadied as she gave a small, tentative nod, the corners of his mouth lifting ever so slightly in response. Negan leaned up just enough to brush a soft kiss against her knuckles, the gesture both disarming and deeply intimate.
“Atta girl.” he whispered, his voice carrying the barest hint of a grin now. “We’re in no rush. Just you and me, okay?” He slowly rubbed her clit, his touch barely there. A loud moan left her mouth, her head throwing back. He slowly buried his face in her heat, groaning as he felt the wetness on his beard. Moving his hand to her thigh, the other remaining on her clit, going harder. Her face was flushed. Bright red, eyes struggling to stay open, mouth agape. Negan pushed his tongue in her, curling it just right.
"Negan.. I feel.. funny.." she whined, popping herself on her elbows so she could see him. At that moment, everything went black and she fell back, eyes squeezing shut, hands gripping the sheet as she reached her climax. Negan, proud of himself, crawled up to her, chuckling.
"You ready for the real thing?" He removed his remaining boxers, his cock slapping against his, long, thick and already dripping pre-cum. He gently pushed the tip in, the most erotic and needy moan ripping from Y/N's mouth. Slowly and painfully, he eased it all the way in, letting her get used to the stretch. "God damn me. Fuck! That pussy, baby... So tight and fuckin' soaked!"
"Negan, it hurts..." She whined, gripping his shoulder hard enough to dig her nails in and make little cuts. He started thrusting, slowly and gently at first, slowly going faster when he was sure she could handle it. Eventually, his thrust became in a pace so fast, it was against physics.
"I know, I know.." He chuckled, but that was cut off by a low guttural groan deep in his chest. His hands started playing with her tits, squeezing the soft flesh and rolling the nipples. He leaned down, taking one into his mouth, sucking so hard, she threw her head back and her eyes rolled into the back of her head. She was a whiny little mess in his arms, the force of him pounding her sweet little cunt and sucking on her breast at the same time too much for her. He lifted his head, looking at her with hooded eyes, filled with lust and desire, watching how beautiful she looked when he ruined her. That dark chuckle of his came to life again. "Damn.. into big cocks from the first time?"
"N... Negan, I can't.." Her moans got louder. The only response she got from the man on top of her was a dark chuckle. The room was dimly lit and filled with sex sounds and scent. She closed her eyes shut, hard, clenching her little cunt around his thick length, signaling she was close yet again.
"Oh, fuck.. Do that again." He threw his head back, a little moan escaping his throat. She obeyed, mimicking the motion she did a second ago. Negan's thrust got harder as he neared his peak. He rubbed her clit and that was enough to send her over the edge. She gripped the sheets next to her with both hands, biting her lip, throwing her head back. Negan watched. He found it cute and sexy at the same time, how he had just ruined her. In his mind, that first time couldn't have gone better. One. Two. Three thrusts and he pulled out, stroking his twitching cock. White ropes of cum shot on her stomach and her breasts, covering her in his hot seed.

hey! could you write a hurt/comfort with age gap chessy x reader where reader feels like she isnt good enough for chessy because of being younger than her and chessy comforts her? (btw just keep up the awesome work!)
Hi Anon! Sorry this took awhile to write but I finally got it finished! Thank you for the compliment as well!! Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: I miscounted the amount of Chessy prompts I had, I had 4 instead of 3 but I currently have 2 left and I already started the next one which is a mama bear Chessy! Also I just started my period today so yes there's a good possibility that the next 2 fics shall also have smut in it.
Good Enough
Warnings: Smut, reader has doubt
Words: 4.4k
Hey Y/n, wake up.” You hear and you groan before opening your eyes.
“What?” You ask and Chessy smiles.
“I know you don’t work until 11 but I made breakfast and thought you’d want some.” She tells you and you yawn while you rub your eyes.
“You made breakfast?” You ask her and she nods.
“There’s some scrambled eggs and toast with your name on it. Made it just how you like it.” She tells you and you smile before you get up.
“What time is it?” You ask her and she looks at her watch.
“Almost 9.” She says and you stretch before you put your slippers on and stand up. “So I was thinking that since I have to go to the market today anyway, then I can bring you to work.” She says as you’re eating breakfast. “And maybe stop and get a nice cup of coffee from the beautiful barista.” She tells you and you smile.
“I’d like that.” You tell her and she boops your nose before kissing your cheek.
“Alright I’ll drive you to work then and pick you up since your car is here.” She says and you nod.
“Thanks Chess.” You say as you grab her hand and she smiles at you.
“What are girlfriends for?” She says and you smile.
“I still can’t believe we’re together, I thought you’d never be interested in me with our 15 year age difference.” You tell her and she shrugs.
“Age is just a number, as long as you’re older than 20.” She says and then goes to do the dishes. “I still don’t understand why you never just ask for an egg sandwich.” She says as she watches you put scrambled eggs on one piece of toast and then adding the other piece of toast.
“Because you’ll make it differently if I do and I like making it myself.” You tell her and she rolls her eyes before adding all the dishes in the sink.
“Do you want anything else? Or do you have something for your lunch later?” She asks and you think about it.
“I’ll just grab an apple or something at the market.” You tell her and she turns around to look at you.
“An apple? I keep telling you to pack a proper lunch for when you work.” She says and you freeze with your mouth open and the sandwich is right in front of your mouth.
“I just never see the need for a proper lunch. I’ll just have an apple and then have some food when I get home.” You tell her.
“Alright then, what time is your lunch anyway? Do you need to grab an apple before work?” She asks and you think about it.
“No, I have my lunch break around 3-3:30. And the stalls don’t close until around 5.” You tell her and she nods.
You have a shower and then you get ready for work. You put on your uniform and put your hair in a ponytail. Chessy drives you to work and she walks with you to the coffee shop to make sure you get there safely.
“I’ll see you later?” You tell her once you enter the coffee shop.
“Yep, I’ll pick you up at 7.” She says and you nod before giving her a kiss.
“Oohh, who’s your girlfriend Y/n?” You hear and you turn around to see your coworkers there watching you.
“Chessy, meet Ali and Theo. I work with them on Saturdays and Sundays.” You tell her. Chessy walks up to them and sees their full names on the name tags, Alison and Theodore.
“Hi, I’m Chessy.” She tells them and she smiles at you.
“Wait, Jessie?” Ali says and you snort.
“No, people make that mistake. It’s Chessy, C H E S S Y.” She spells out for them. “Short for Francesca.” She explains and they nod. “It was nice to meet you but I gotta pick some stuff up at the market. Bye hon, love you.” She tells you.
“I love you too.” You tell her and she leaves.
You put your bag in your little cubby in the back before grabbing an apron and they’re both looking at you.
“What?”
“Give us all the juicy details.” Theo tells you and you sigh.
“Don’t know what juicy details you’re expecting. Two girls met at the market, they caught feelings, one asked the other on a date and they’re now in a relationship.” You tell them.
“Give us more than that.” Theo says.
“Like when did you meet? Who asked who out? What’s the age difference? And most importantly, is she good in bed?” Ali asks you. You look at the cafe and see no customers there yet as it’s just before the lunch rush.
“We met 5 months ago and she asked me out 3 months ago. She’s 15 years older than me, and I don’t know, we haven’t had sex yet.” You tell them and their jaws drops.
“You haven’t had sex yet? Are you a prude or something?” Theo asks you.
“No, it’s just that…” You try to say but you stumble and then give up trying.
“It’s just what? Are you not attracted to her?” Ali pushes.
“What? That’s not it, I am very attracted to her. It’s just that…the age difference is making me nervous.” You admit and they look at you and tilt their heads.
“She’s 38 right?” Ali asks and you nod your head. “What’s the problem about the ages? Why does it make you nervous?” She asks and you look at the ground and take a deep breath before answering.
“I feel like I’m not good enough. I mean I’m 23, I’m a barista getting minimum wage. I live in a crappy apartment with a roommate and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Meanwhile Chessy is a live-in nanny who lives in a beautiful house, gets more than enough per month to live comfortably, never has to worry about money and she knows what she wants and who she is.” You tell them.
“Does Chessy know you feel like this?” Theo asks and you shake your head.
“I don’t know about queers, being the only straight one in this room, but in straight relationships, the two people in said relationship talk about how they feel. They communicate.” Ali says.
“Us queers do it too.” Theo tells Ali. “Just this one is being a chicken.” He adds and then someone walks in.
The lunch rush starts and the 3 of you don’t have time to talk about anything for an hour.
“Hey Y/n.” You hear and you turn around to give the customer their coffee and you see Chessy is next in line.
“You can serve this one.” Theo says and then he walks away from the register. You walk to the register and you look at her.
“What can I get you?” You ask her with a smile and she looks at the options.
“Considering it’s my first time here and the barista knows what I like, what do you think I should get?” She asks you and you think about it.
“You can just get black coffee, 2 cream and 2 sugars just how you like.” You say to her and she smiles.
“I’m trying to be adventurous.” She says and you offer a couple suggestions for her to try that she might like and she orders one. She gives you the money and she puts the change in the tip jar while Ali makes the drink. “How’s it going? It’s pretty busy in here.” She tells you as she looks around.
“Ya it starts getting busy around 11:30 as it’s the lunch rush.” You tell her and she nods.
“By the way I wanted to ask you something, is everything alright? It’s just ever since you started visiting the ranch, you’ve been acting different. None of the Parker’s said anything bad, right?” She asks you and you shake your head.
“No, nothing like that, just life things.” You tell her and she nods.
“Ok, well I hope you can come to the ranch tomorrow evening. Chillier night so I was going to get a fire going and maybe we can have a nice hot cocoa together.” She tells you and you smile.
“Yes, of course, I love that plan.” You tell her and then Ali comes with the drink and gives it to Chessy. Chessy takes a sip and smiles.
“What a great recommendation and excellent service.” She says and winks at you. “I’ll see you later hon.” She tells you.
“See you later.” You tell her and then she leaves. “Took longer on making the drink, I see.” You tell her and she smiles.
“I just didn’t rush or ‘make it quick.’” She says and you snort at her impression of some of your customers. You take your first break 45 minutes later and you sit outside and just enjoy watching the market. You go back in and you go through your bag to get your water bottle out and you find a container there that isn’t yours. You open it up and see a peanut butter sandwich there and realised Chessy must have slipped in it while you were showering.
“Those damn mother instincts of hers.” You mumble out loud.
“Mother instincts of who?” Ali asks you and you hold up the container.
“Chessy secretly packed me lunch after I told her I don’t eat much at work.” You tell her.
“Awww, that’s so sweet.” She says and you roll your eyes and take a sip from your water bottle.
Chessy walks in exactly at 7 to come drive you back to the ranch. You pack up your things and say goodbye to the evening crew before you head out.
“So I noticed a sandwich in my bag today.” You tell her when she’s driving back.
“Really? That’s so weird.” She says sarcastically and you chuckle.
“Thank you, it was sweet of you.” You tell her and she smiles at you.
“It’s not a problem hon, just helping out my girl.” She tells you and you blush. “Are you sure you don’t want to sleep here again?” She asks once you’re back at the ranch and packing up your overnight bag.
“Ya I’m sure.”
“It’s just you said you don’t like your apartment and that my bed is more comfortable.” She tells you, trying to get you to stay over again.
“Well I can’t always stay here, we just started going out 3 months ago. No matter how comfortable you and your bed are.” You say and she smiles shyly.
“I’m comfortable to sleep with?” She asks and you nod.
“You’re very warm which is nice and these…” You say and point to her boobs. “Are very comfortable pillows.” You say and she giggles. “But I have to go home so that we have a chance to miss each other.” You tell her and she strokes your cheek.
“I know, and you’re right. I’ll just miss you.” She says and you kiss her.
“I’ll miss you too.” You tell her and she goes and kisses you again. No one pulls back and you both make out until Chessy moans into the kiss and then you pull back. “I’ll see you tomorrow though and I’ll stay over as I don’t have work on Monday.” You tell her and she smiles and nods.
“I can’t wait until tomorrow night then. You can come straight from work and I'll have dinner ready for you.” She says.
“My hero.” You tell her and then give her a kiss on the cheek before grabbing your bag and walking to the front door. You two kiss one more time and tell each other ‘I love you’ before you go to your car. Chessy watches to make sure you make it to your car safely and then she closes the door when she can’t see your car anymore.
“Things are going well between you two.” Elizabeth tells her from the couch when Chessy walks into the living room.
“They’re going extremely well but I can’t help feeling as if she’s holding back a little.” Chessy tells her.
“How old is she again?” Elizabeth asks as she puts down her book.
“23.”
“Well she’s at the age where she’s figuring everything out if she hasn’t already. I remember when I was 23, because that’s when I married Nick the first time.” She says and Chessy chuckles. “Just give her some time and she’ll come to you if she needs help with anything.” Elizabeth says to her and Chessy nods.
“Thanks.” Chessy tells her and then goes to her room.
You go home and enter your apartment building and your roommate is there doing some college work.
“Nice to see you again, have fun with your girlfriend?” She asks and you nod.
“We didn’t do anything last night, I know that’s what you’re thinking.” You tell her.
“Still haven’t done it? It’s been 3 months. My boyfriend and I did it after a month.” She tells you.
“That’s because you two are very horny.” You say with a smile.
“And you’re not? We have very thin walls, I know what you do most nights.” She says and you roll your eyes. “Is it her that’s holding back or you?” She asks while writing some things down.
“Me, I know she’s ready.” You tell her honestly.
“And why are you holding back?” She asks.
“Because I’m scared. I don’t even know anything about myself and she’s so put together. I don’t even know what she sees in me.” You tell her and she looks at you.
“So it’s still about the age difference, I already told you to talk to her.” She says and you groan.
“I’m scared to talk to her, I mean what if I bring to light things that she didn’t think of about me and then she wants to break up after? Or what if she sees that I’m not the person she thought I was and then leaves?” You tell her and she looks at you.
“You lesbians are so dramatic.” She teases you with.
“Evelyn.” You groan out and she laughs.
“Just talk to her, she’ll either help calm your worries or she’ll end it with you. Either way your worries will disappear.” She says and you look at her.
“Her ending it with me is what I’m worried about.”
“If she ends it with you then it’s her loss but she seems very into you, well from the 3 times she’s come over here. You honestly hang out more there than you do here. Starting to feel like I’m living by myself and it’s kinda nice.” She tells you and you throw a pillow from the couch at her.
“By the way I’m going there right after work tomorrow and spending the night.” You tell her and she nods.
“Good to know, I can invite my boyfriend over again.” She says with a smile and you sit back on the couch.
“Hey hon.” Chessy says as she lets you in the house. “How was work?” She asks and gives you a kiss.
“Same as always, my coworkers were teasing me again. Because they’ve now met you and keep bombarding me with questions.” You tell her and she giggles. “Theo says you’re a stunner by the way.”
“Well you can tell him I say thank you.” She says and leads you to the kitchen. “Here’s some soup as the weather is getting colder.” She says and hands you a bowl.
“Thanks, and it’s almost November so I’m not surprised that it's colder.” You tell her and she just leans on the counter and continues the conversation with you as you eat. “Where’s everyone else?” You ask her since you haven’t seen anyone come downstairs at all.
“Hallie and Annie needed help with a project so they’re all upstairs.” She tells you and you nod.
“You’re not helping them?” You ask her and she shakes her head.
“I was but they pushed me out of the room as they knew you were coming over.” She tells you and you laugh. “So we got the downstairs to ourselves.” She tells you and you nod. “You’re quiet, normally you like when it’s just the two of us.” She says to you and you nod.
“I do, just something on my mind.” You say as you finish the soup.
“Wanna talk about it?” She asks and you nod.
“I’m ok.” You tell her and fake a smile. She nods before taking your bowl, putting it in the sink for later and then you both go to the couch.
You both begin snuggling until Chessy leans in and starts kissing you. You expected her to pull away like she usually did, but as of lately she hasn’t been pulling away and that’s starting to worry you. She keeps kissing you and then you moan out and you immediately pull away.
“What’s wrong?” She asks and you look at her.
“Nothing.”
“Are you sure? It just seems as somethings been bothering you lately and Ive been trying to wait until you come to me about it but you haven’t.” She tells you and you look down. “You can talk to me about anything.” She says as she lifts your chin up to look at her.
“I know, but I’m scared about talking to you about it.”
“Why?”
“Because it involves you.” You tell her and she looks at you confused. “We’re both aware of the age difference between us, and I’m trying to act like it doesn’t bother me but it shows all the time.”
“What shows?” She asks.
“The age difference. I have no idea where my life is headed and you have everything figured out.” You admit to her and she gives you a sympathetic look. “I’m a 23 year old barista who gets minimum wage and lives in a crappy apartment and needs a roommate because I can’t afford it by myself.” You tell her. “You’re so together and you live comfortably and never have to worry about money or about where your life is headed as you have it figured out.” You add and she gets you to look at her.
“My life wasn’t always this way, I was hired by Nick and Elizabeth when I was your age to be the live-in nanny when Elizabeth was 7 months pregnant.” She tells you.
“But don’t you want someone who has their life together already?” You ask her and she shakes her head. “I want someone who loves me for who I am.” She tells you. “And you’ll figure out your life, you’re still figuring everything out and I understand that.”
“I just feel like I’m not good enough for you.” You tell her and she caresses your cheek.
“You are good enough for me, I love you and I’m willing to stick by you while you figure out what you wanna do.” She says and a tear falls down your cheek. “You’re beautiful, smart and you got a mouth that’s great with comebacks.” She says and then she kisses you. “It’s also great with kisses.” She adds once she pulls back. You lunge forward and kiss her with force and it causes her to fall backwards onto the couch and she takes you with her. “Oomph.” You continue kissing her and she puts her hands in your hair and keeps you close to her.
“Get a room.” You hear and you both look behind you to see Elizabeth and Nick there with a smile on their faces. “Actually Chessy, you have a room upstairs.” Nick says and you look at Chessy before getting off of her.
“Sorry.” You tell him and then Chessy grabs your hand and quickly brings you to her room. She closes her door and then you immediately kiss her once she turns around.
“Wait wait wait.” Chessy says breathlessly. “If it keeps going then I won’t want to stop.” She tells you and you smile.
“I don’t want you to stop.” You tell her and you see her eyes darken before she goes back to kissing you, then lifts you up and brings you to the bed, all without breaking the kiss.
Chessy wastes no time in taking all your clothes off and kissing and licking all over your body. She makes sure to leave hickeys all over your neck and chest and you know you’ll worry later about how to hide them when you work.
She trails down to your nipples and gives each of them a good amount of attention that you start trying to grind on her and beg, which is probably what she wanted.
“Chessy, please, I need you.” You tell her and she smirks before she places herself between your legs. She wraps her arms around your thighs and brings you closer to her. She then dives in and starts sucking on your clit and the moans and gasps are failing out of your mouth. You grab onto her hair with one hand and the sheets with the other as you feel your orgasm slowly building. Chessy inserts one finger inside of you and you have to bite down on your lip so you don’t scream and let the whole house know what you both are doing. You feel your orgasm is right there and your whole body tenses before you cover your mouth with your hand and feel your orgasm wash all over you. Chessy licks up all your juices before she pulls back then climbs on you until you’re face to face. She kisses you and you taste yourself on her and you moan into the kiss. You then put your hands on her body to feel her and realise she’s still wearing all her clothes and you pull back. “What the hell? Take off your fucking clothes.” You tell her and she laughs before she takes off her sweater, which is followed by her shirt then bra. As you stare at her chest, she takes off her khakis and underwear.
“This more to your liking, hon?” She asks and you nod with a smile. She lays down beside you and wraps an arm around you to cuddle but you want to return the favour. You move closer to her and then you easily find her clit and begin rubbing it. “Y/n.” She moans out and you smile.
“Does that feel good?” You ask her and she quickly nods.
“Don’t stop…keep going.” She pants and you go faster, causing her to bring your face close to hers so she can kiss you to avoid making any loud noises. “Oh god.” She whines out and you can tell she won’t last long with the way her legs are shaking and that she’s gripping your hair while pulling you in for a kiss. You then feel her body tense up before she gasps into the kiss and then her entire body relaxes. You pull away from her clit and then use the hand to cup her cheek while still kissing her.
“Thank you.” You tell her once you both pull back and she looks at you.
“For the sex?”
“No, well for that as well, but thank you for telling me I’m good enough for you.” You say and she tucks a few strands that are sticking to your face behind your ear.
“I wish you would have told me what was bothering you sooner, hon. I was getting really worried.” She tells you and you look down. “But I’m glad you told me in the end, better late than never.” She adds with a smile. “Wait, is the reason we waited to have sex was because you thought you weren’t good enough for me?” You nod to her question then look down and she cups your cheek. “I’m not mad about having to wait for you, I’m not mad at all.”
“I’ve been wanting to have sex with you for over a month but my fears and doubts kept getting in the way.”
“Hon, promise me that next time something is bothering you, please tell me.” She tells you and you nod.
“I promise.” You tell her and she smiles.
*2 days later*
“You know if you weren’t such a vampire then I wouldn’t have had to wear this awful turtleneck to work.” You tell her as she drives you back to the ranch.
“I didn’t hear any complaints when I was biting your neck.”
“I didn’t have to spend 8 hours in a turtleneck for the past 2 days.” You counter and she smiles.
“Quit complaining, next time you stay overnight just bring your makeup and I’ll cover up any hickeys myself for you.” She tells you as you reach the ranch. “Will I see you friday?” She asks after you gather everything from her room and you nod.
“Yep, can you survive without me for 2 days?” You ask her and she shakes her head.
“I guess we’ll see, and no pleasuring yourself for the next 2 nights.” She says and you gasp.
“What?”
“I want you nice and needy when you come over.” She tells you and you groan.
“Fine.” You say and she smiles then gives you a kiss.”
“Good girl.”
“Now that’s cheating.” You tell her and she smirks.
“I never said teasing was not allowed.”
“I’ll see you on Friday, I’ll come right over after my shift.” You tell her and she nods before giving you another kiss and then you get in your car. “I love you.”
“I love you too, hon. Remember to call me to let me know you got home safe.” She says and you nod.
“I will.” You say and then close your door and start your car. You walk in through the door of your apartment building and Evelyn is there and she looks up at you.
“And where exactly have you been for 2 days?” She asks and then sees your turtleneck. “Oh, I see.” She says with a smirk and you roll your eyes. “Did you talk to her as well?” She asks as you walk to the phone.
“Yep.” You tell her and then dial Chessy’s number.

while patrolling with Joel, you find out he’s never caught a snowflake on his tongue before.

the cold was near blistering. you could feel the cold snow sinking under the weight of your shoes. your breath was coming out in small puffs of chilled, white air. “damn, yer freezing...” Joel commented. “shut it. I'm fine,” you snapped, wanting to appear tough. but Joe knew better. all he did was smile and shake his head, continuing to walk alongside you.
the snow was soft under your steps, crunching and leaving a crisp noise that was audible even through earmuffs. “this snow is really loud,” you chuckled, a little weak. Joel hummed, acknowledging your words. then you noticed some snow on your shoulders. you looked up, and saw some snow falling from the sky above, the clouds pearly white as they covered every inch of the sky. “Joel! it’s snowing!” you cried, happily holding a hand out, hopeful to catch some. “so? ‘snows all the time here in Jackson,” Joel said, not amused whatsoever at the snow. he kept himself professional at all times. he was only soft around Ellie, and possibly Tommy if he wasn’t being a little bitch. you were supposed to be patrolling the area, not playing in the snow like children.
ignoring Joel’s blatant attitude, you stuck out your tongue, hoping to catch a snowflake. “what the hell are ye doing?” Joel asked, disgruntled. “yer damn tongue’s gonna freeze off.” you shut your mouth, and turned to look at Joel. did this man not know any whimsical joy? no happiness? I mean, sure it was the apocalypse, but was he allergic to fun or something? you cocked your head, confused. “c’mon, don’t tell me you’ve never caught a snowflake before, Joel!” you laughed. the look on his face told you everything you needed to know. “Joel! you’re shitting me, right?!” you laughed, suddenly very cocky. “hey, knock it off, kiddo. we’ve got work to do, y’know?” Joel said, crossing his arms. but he had set his gun down, wanting to tag along, even if he didn't want to look too enthusiastic about it.
you quickly grabbed Joel’s arm and brought him out from under the huge trees. “so, you just stick your tongue out and wait, huh?” Joel asked, his left brow thick as it quirked upward. you nodded, your own tongue out, awaiting a pearly snowflake.
your big eyes were warm and soft, your lashes and hair having some snow in it. your shoulders were dusted with the lamb-colored nature essence as well, making you seem… really pretty. Joel took a deep breath, turning away, needing to recollect himself. fuck. you were barley in your twenties. he’d look like a pervert if anyone knew just the way he looked at you. you were successful as you caught a snowflake.
the snow burned your tongue a little, the icy fragment fresh and near crumbling just from the warmth of your breath. you closed your jaw, your tongue feeling the ice melt and become water in milliseconds. you swallowed, content.
you heard Joel let out a long, hard sigh. “one…” he grunted, holding the sleeves of his heavy jacket. “just one, alright?” Joel said. the smile on your face made him inevitably smile, and he felt his cheeks warming up under his silky chops. damn you and your stupid charm, your stupid smile, and those stupid eyes…
Joel felt dumb holding his tongue out, whirling around like a dog trying to catch his own tail. when he got a snowflake, he choked and barked, “fuck! why does it burn?” he asked, disgruntled and a little embarrassed. “oh, yeah… the snowflakes can hurt sometimes. sorry Joel,” you said timidly. Joel narrowed his eyes at you, but swallowed the chilled water leftover from the ice anyways. “was that fun?” you asked excitedly, bounding behind Joel when he started to walk away. “not really. it hurt, and i looked like a damn dog waitin’ for that stupid snowflake.” Joel said, trudging through the snow, eyes sharp as he patrolled the area. “but you did it anyways.” you remarked, timidly walking closer to Joel. he didn’t seem to mind much.
Joel looked down at you, stopping. he brushed some snow out of your hair, his gloved hand rubbing your cheek affectionately. his touch was so soft, even though the glove was rough. swallowing, Joel stammered, “you’ll need a bath when we get back…”
