At first I was kind of scared of starting so I started with a traditional sketch which I ended up really liking! So I decided to use it and made lineart for it, but then I immediately ran into problems because the angle made it really really hard for me to add a fire without making it look like they were on fire

You can't see it in the timelapse, but I made a completely new csp file where i tested out different compositions and stuff to find a way that didn't look like they were on fire... it was a struggle

In the end I ended up changing the canvas size a tiny bit and added these stylized flames instead, I hope it helped them not look on fire😭

The rest is the rendering part :) This is my favorite part :) I have no recollection of it at all :) I don't know what im doing :)

Also I think I might be obsessed with making swirlssssss

I also feel like I have more lore for my followers than these two smh, I got a priest disciple bat that gives dad energy that is friend with EVERYONE in the cult (except Aym lmao) and he has a biological daughter and son that were born in the cult, THE DAMN GIRL ASKED ME TO RESCUE HER "sister" FROM DARK WOOD AND LATER THE ADOPTED SISTER WENT "oh save my brother" and just because I'm petty I turned him into those foxes with long ass ears lol (there is also their uncle Wich the bat dad asked me to rescue)

Her silence is important because it says a lot more than whatever else words would. She doesn't hate him, she is disgusted by him. That is what is clearly stated. But more broadly, who the fuck would Erik be if he WERE ordinary? His name wouldn't even BE Erik. Would he still be so into music? Would they have met? Would Erik even have spent the time to develop her singing skills because, let's be honest, the whole "dead" father bit definitely made her more open to manipulation? So whenever people say, "It's her saying she's in love with him" I feel like people are missing the big picture, because, the WHOLE theme of the book is how we treat those who are "different". Literally. The end of the book has a monologue about questioning whether we should pity Erik. (and the answer is a lot more complicated than a simple yes or no).

Boss that eats you on his lunch break?

YES!

Like imagine getting called into his office thinking you're going to get fired, but it turns out the boss just wants you to be their squirmy little snack, and he devours you before you can even say no (not that you'd want to), and as you're happily squirming around in his stomach he eats more and more, and he continues to stuff himself despite your protests, but he tells you he skipped breakfast and needs a big lunch, even though you'd realistically already satisfy his cravings. You're stuck in his stomach for the rest of the day as the rest of the food digests, and at the end of your work day you ask to be let out but he tells you you'll be working overtime. He passes out late at night so now you're stuck for until he wakes up, and you have to just hope the acid isn't able to melt you, or at the very least the boss will reform you. You make it through the night and the boss is surprised you're still completely solid, admitting that he wasn't looking forward to taking the time to reform you, and decides that since you seem to be unable to be digested, he's going to promote you to being part of his lunch from now on.

I also made them little holiday costumes and a second Screamer where he has a crown!

I'm really really proud of them!! I've been hanging out around the gravity falls section as Skywarp because my friends like to go as Bill and Ford!!!

Also the campsite as Starscream when all the bubbles get to be a bit too much.

kevin just......the fact that he pushed so hard to send jean to usc. to a place that is so different from everything he's ever known, to a team who's known for his kindness, to a captain and partner that is the absolute antithesis of his old one.

kevin knows what jean went through (he was *there* for a great deal of it) and he sent jean as far away from that as he possibly could because he understands and cares and it's beautiful to see.

riptide is structured a little diffy for story purposes but surfers have to participate in smaller competitions firsts to rack up points, like local comps. then it typically goes junior tour, (20 and under, MC’s first JT was when they were 9) challenger series, qualifying series, and then championship tour (the one MC’s currently going on at 22!)

n’s CT was when they were 24, a year prior. MC has qualified for the CT in previous years but freddie values their education immensely lol.

but all this to say, yes. they do have a decent online following since they’re very talented but also due to them dating lee. they are like a local celebrity in their town as well lol always being given free stuff especially since most store owners have known MC their whole lives. MC is also seen throughout their life in online surfing videos but hilo only made and managed w/ aria a youtube channel when they were like 14, 15

There is something very devastating to me about writing.

I don’t know, it’s about writing being one oldest form of share thoughts but, at the same time, the most... “limited”.

Music, drawing, animation. These things also take time to be made. It’s all ways of art that requires just as much effort and dedication. But I can’t help but feel that they are easier ways for your art to be shared, objectively speaking.

A painting can be comprehensible due to its aesthetics and style. Just like a song, it sticks in your head, holds your attention. I can tell if the sound is sad or happy or angry.

A book can't do that.

You don’t watch or hear a book. It won’t reach people with its visuals or sounds, things that are so common to humanity as a whole... and that hurts me.

Feeling that the art that I love so much can’t be as universal as I want it to be. A song can reach people who speak different languages, and so can na image. A book will always have a language barrier. If it is not translated, others will not have access.

I cannot rely solely on sound and vision and feelings that go beyond language. Not like a artist or a musician can.

I am a communicator blocked by my own way of communication.

And that hurts.

it’s like you’re in my head or something, i was literally just rereading one of my little ficlets, thinking about their little three way dynamic of merlin, arthur and death after todays rewatch.

merlin’s a menace all the time and that only naturally includes his love language, but, really, i think my favourite part is how much arthur doesn’t get it. yeah, sure, he knows acts of service, but who in their right mind could get the twisty way merlin’s going about it. my guy could divert an arrow heading straight for arthur with one swift flash of gold and still try and jump in front of it afterwards. i mean, good for him, that’s dedication, but, god, does he need a break. get that oxygen flowing, set things back to normal (well, as much as that can be done). bless his sweet, sweet, slightly concerning soul.

It’s sad how I will never amount to anything. I love so many things, it’s sometimes just too much. I want to be exceptional, I want to be unique. But how could I ever stand out when I am just another product of a cookie cutter regimen. I am just a copy and paste of you.

my writing, my art, my theatre, my sports, myself? It is leaving me empty. I just want to be exceptional- but it’s selfish to think this way because so does everyone else.

11.  Books and/or authors who influenced you the most

The book series Horrible Histories was my life for years. I read them back to back, working through my “blood curdling box-set” until I just started rereading them over and over. In retrospect, Terry Deary’s sort of sarcastic, referential style definitely bled into some of my work, especially my original stuff. I just feel like he has a lot of character and voice in his writing and I always loved that.

12.  Describe your perfect writing space

I run warm, so I prefer a cool writing space. I write with music and/or white noise, typically. Though I can write pretty much anywhere, anytime, so my ideal place would just be sitting comfortably, I think.

Favourite from my work? Idk. Here’s one I contemplated for too long, from the film industry au, of course :3

George reached a hand up and fisted it in Joe’s shirt. It was one of his nicer ones, collared. Joe had ironed it before they left his apartment, and there George was, creasing the damn thing as he pulled Joe down on top of him.

YOU WERE THE ONE WHO POINTED OUT THAT GEORGE WAS THE ONE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE THINGS JOE DID LIKE IRONING HIS NICE SHIRT, WHICH MADE ME REALISE THAT JOE WAS ALSO ACTIVELY PUTTING IN THE EFFORT TO DRESS UP FOR THEIR LITTLE DINNER DATE. IT’S THE MUTUAL AFFECTION. this was all completely intentional and I absolutely did not only think of these implications after writing this (lies I had no clue whatsoever. I was just talking about Joe’s shirt)

Rai help do you know the persona lore can you tell me help

OMG OMG OMG OMG ARE YOU THINKING OF GETTING INTO PERSONA OR DID YOU JUST GET INTO IT???

Either way you have caught me at the right time because my long running Persona hyperfixation is in full swing babyyyyy

The Persona games are pretty disconnected other than a few elements here and there so I can tell you a bit of general persona lore but you’d have to specify a specific game if you wanted more info!!! (That would also be pretty general though to avoid spoilers!)

1. Persona games tend to follow the Fools Journey of the major tarot arcana with the protagonist always being the Fool! This is utilised differently throughout each of the games. One of the main aspects of the Fool is that they have limitless potential, which leads to one of the other main things shared between all persona protags: the Wild Card! The Wild Card leads you to be able to take on multiple different personas when usually a person can only have one. The protagonist grows and changes a lot as a person throughout the story, shown partially through systems like social stats but through other means as well, and both the personas they undertake through regular gameplay and also story related reasons reflect this!

2. The Velvet Room is a place between time and space ran by a man called Igor and usually at least one Velvet assistant (Persona 5 has two whilst the Q spin-off games have all the Velvet assistants from 3 and 4 or 3-5 depending on if you’re playing Q or Q2). It’s a place only accessible to those who hold the Wild Card within them and its form changes to reflect their heart and the challenges they’re facing. Persona 3’s is an elevator, Persona 4’s is a limo, and Persona 5’s is a prison! (I’m unsure what Persona 1 and 2’s look like as I haven’t played those two yet, apologies!). It doesn’t really have much lore beyond that as far as I know? But it is one of the only things shared across all the games.

3. The central themes of each game tend to be about accepting yourself and growing as a person (aka strengthening your heart, therefore strengthening your persona). I haven’t completed Persona 3 yet so I can’t exactly say how that’s utilised in that game just yet but in Persona 4 and 5 accepting the bad parts of yourself and going against others in order to follow your heart are one of the main parts and themes of the game.

4. Persona lore follows the Jungian psychology and takes it incredibly literally. Jungian psychology describes a persona as: “a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual." This is taken most literally in Persona 5 as they have to rip off the mask imposed upon them by society in order to access their true nature, aka their Persona, but it’s also somewhat similar in the previous two mainline games as well.

There’s certainly more to it than that but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head!!! If you wanna know more about the lore of a specific Persona Game just ask! Although I don’t know much about 3 at the moment as I’m only halfway through July in Reload- if you ever wanna talk about Persona just ask hehe I’d love to talk about it!!! Especially Persona 5, if you haven’t played the series yet and you’re trying to decide which one to start with is definetly recommend 5, specifically Royal but the original version is good too, Royal just has way more content and is better overall HDKSVXKSHXJ- it’s the one I started off with personally and I think it’s definitely the best intro to the series if you’re attempting to get into it. With the release of Reload, P3 is also a good way to get into the series and if you want a darker story that’s definitely the way to go but both are amazing options! Persona 5’s story is by no means worse than Persona 3’s though, I absolutely adore that game’s story and themes (there’s a reason I’ve played it 6 times HCKSGDKWBCKH-). If you want I can tell you more about both! The only game I wouldn’t recommend starting with is Persona 4, it’s not bad by any means but honestly if I wasn’t already hooked on Persona by the time I played it I probably would’ve dropped it, the dungeon crawling and battle systems of the older versions of 3 and both versions of 4 have uh… a few issues bcksgcksbckhs
