#Sonnett and Kelley being the ones to calm things down

Note
For all the talk about Sonny fighting I think preventing Kristie from fighting half the Colombian team is up there with the hottest thing she’s done. Something about the hand on the chest and the “absolutely not” attitude.
The Kronnett girlies were on one with that.
That whole sequence of events was insane. First of all, HATCHY started that shit! And then you had Kelley have to come in to grab Trinity because she was looking like she may be about to start something, and Kristie was still in the middle DEFINITELY about to start something so then Sonnett had to grab her and get her about as far away as humanly possible while Mal looks at the situation and just says ‘fuck this’ and walks away. As a treat there were also the incredible reactions of Howell, Horan, and Rose on the bench. Heritage.

A thing for Aquaman (Kelley O'hara x reader)
This was a request, but I had a tough time writing it and don’t know if I achieved your expectations. It’s a short one.
Kelley pov
“Hello ladies! My name is Shean and I’ll be one of the instructors that will be guiding you all today.” We were at the Marine Life Rescue center in Florida. The USWNT is combining forces with the Program to help raise visibility to their mission, so we are making a visit and recording some media stuff. A few of us visited the Clearwater aquarium, some went to the beach to see a turtle and a dolphin release. Me, Lindsey, Alex, Sofia, Trinity and Sonnett are in the group that is going scuba diving.
“So, a quick story before our leader gets here. The Marine Life Rescue Project was created to support the mission and funding to Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute. We believe in preserving our environment while inspiring the human spirit through leadership in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine life. By research, conservation and environmental education of the community. Alone, we can’t do much, so that’s why your visit here is so important for us…” The boy kept talking and my attention quickly was out of it. I poked Alex and asked. “This guy sounds like he is repeating this line for the hundredth time and has zero animation to be here” Alex laughed but kept looking at the boy, Lindsey that was near heard me and answered. “He is cute though. But I don’t know if I’m too excited to enter the water. I think I will rather stay in the boat talking to him.” Trinity, who was also listening to us, spoke. “What? We are scuba diving for free. Why would you want to stay in the boat?” “What if there are sharks in the water?” Lindsey whispered loudly. “That’s the fun part.” Trinity has a smirk on her face. “I don’t think there will be sharks in there. Right?” I tried to calm Linds, but I was not too sure of myself.” “Don’t worry, the sharks don’t like humans that much. They usually don’t show up. Usually.” A woman whispered behind us, making the girls who were close jump a little as we haven’t seen her before. “Usually?” She just shrugged. “Who are you?” I was the one making the question now. “I’m…”
“Y/n! You made it. Come here.” The woman winked at us, stood and went up front. “Girls, this is Y/n Y/l/n. She is going to be the lead instructor that will be diving with some of you. Any questions?” Lindsey raised her hand and asked. “Can I stay in the boat?” We all laughed and Y/n answered. “Of course you can, no one will be forced to be down there. But I must warn you that you will be missing a lot.” “Thanks. But I rather stay here than risk being eaten by a shark.” “First, sharks don’t attack like that. That is a huge myth created mostly due to Spielberg's movies. There is a bigger chance of you dying in a plane crash than being eaten by a shark.” Y/n corrected Lindsey, who still didn’t look convinced. “I think I'll take my chances with the plane.” Y/n laughed but before she could say anything the other instructor called her informing that everything was ready on the boat. “We are going. And second…” She interrupted herself by taking off her hoodie, and Oh, dear! She has muscles. God, she is hot. “Second, I know this beach like the palm of my hand. I know these animals and you’ll be safe with me and my team. Don’t worry. Let’s go girls?” With that she walked toward the boat leaving us behind.
We watched her going and I broke the silence “Have anyone else seen those muscles?” “Yeah. You know what Linds, you can stay in the boat. I will dive with her.” Sonnett grabbed her backpack and started her walk to the boat. “Wait. I think I changed my mind. With those arms, I think I will be safe.” Lindsey says following Sonnett. “You know Kells, if you want a chance to stay near those arms you’ll have to run. Sonnett and Linds are thirsty.” Alex laughed at me and we all ran to the boat.
An instructor started the drive and we all sat in the boat waiting for the boat to stop at the diving spot. “So Y/n, is being this muscular and hot a requirement to being a scuba diving instructor?” She laughed and answered. “If it was Shean over here would be with his days counted.” “Hey! I work out.” “I’m just kidding man. But answering your question, it’s not. But it helps to keep the girls' attention at you when you’re repeating the program instructions.” She winked at me. “I noticed, but don’t know if I paid too much attention to what you were saying, was occupied with something else. Too distracted. I would love to learn more about it.” “Well, unfortunately that isn’t part of the tour but I’m always open to show what those muscles can do some other time.” “I think I know how those muscles work in the gym.” “I imagine, but I wasn’t talking about the gym.” My eyes widened and I stayed speechless. She stood up and started grabbing the equipment.
“Well, as we already pass through instruction on the beach, I won’t repeat them. The only thing I’m reinforcing is to make sure to be close by. This water is normally safe and calm, and you will have the chance to watch the most different species of animals and corals, but your safety is the most important thing here and any caution is too much. Any question?” This time it was Trinity who raised her hand. “How close can we stay to you?” “Can I hold your arms?” Sofia asked. Y/n only laughed and put her backpack on. “Calm down girls, there is enough of me for everyone. Now, who is ready to dive?”
Next thing I know Y/n was helping the girls with their equipment and Alex poked me. “Really Kell? You’re almost drooling over her.” “Can you blame me? Look at those muscles.” “She is more than just that, you know?” “I know, but how can I not want that? She is smart, strong, funny, and hot. She is friends with the fishes, sharks, and almost the whole marine life. She is basically the female Aquaman.” “Kids, why did I have to stay in the kids group?” She walked away and Y/n came near me to help me with the equipment.
“Everything is good?” Y/n asked. “Yep.” “Great. Let's finish our tour then and wish for it to end with a success.” She said finishing tightening the strap. “Success? I thought you said we didn’t have to worry about it.” She looked at me. “You don’t. Not on my part anyway.” I looked at her confused. “What do you mean?” “You know the story, the hero saves the ladies from the sharks and gets the girl in the end.” “Who says you were the hero?” “We are in a small boat Kelley.” A smirk appeared on her face and she went near the edge of the boat. “But don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you have a thing for Aquaman.” She winked at me and jumped in the water. Oh God, I have a thing for the female Aquaman.

Not The Legacy We Thought (USWNT X Brady Reader)
𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓: Tom Brady, the infamous NFL Quarterback has another little sister? Reader is Nineteen and playing for the University of Michigan, when she is called up to play with the USWNT.

— — —
Four siblings, one a very famous NFL quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You always have looked up to Tom as your hero, your big brother. Playing for University of Michigan for women’s soccer is amazing, but sometimes the comments on how you got accepted just because of who your brother is can be overwhelming.
Tom always has told you that he didn’t have a hand in getting you accepted into UM. Always saying that if he did have a hand into getting you in the University of Michigan you would certainly know it.
You and Tom always got along, from surfing and playing golf, to playing video games and cooking food. It didn’t matter what the two of you did, but somehow you both really clicked together. Not that you didn’t click with Maureen, Julie, or Nancy, but you just had this titanium tight bond with Tom.
When the rumor was going around that you might be getting the call to play with the USWNT for the 2020 Olympics, Tom was the first person that you told. He flew up to Michigan for a few days to see you on his off days, both of you waiting anxiously for the call.
On his third day in Michigan that’s when the call came in. Putting Vlatko on speaker for you both to hear what he had to say. When the USWNT coach told you had made the team, Tom took you out to celebrate. Your older brother got a little out of control, from announcing all over his social media accounts to even throwing a huge party for you.
You had been playing soccer since you were a little kid. Your parents Tom Brady Sr. and Galynn Patricia Brady always made sure you had everything you needed to be the best you could be. Yes, sometimes they could be a little bit much, but they just wanted you to be happy.
When watching the USWNT on the TV you always focused on the midfielders. But, you couldn’t help taking a personal liking to Tobin Heath, Ashlyn Harris, Kelley O’Hara, Ali Krieger, and Christen Press. They intrigued you a lot from their playing styles to their silly demeanor off the pitch.
— — —
Now here you were at the hotel for the first camp before the Send Off Series. You had been assigned to room with Tierna Davidson, but when you got to your room she wasn’t there.
Looking at the clock you saw you had a half an hour before the team meeting. So to pass some of the time you decided to unpack, that is until your phone dinged, signaling you of a new text message.
Putting down your UofM hoodie to pick up your phone, smiling at the text message your brother had sent you.
“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐝, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐈 𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬.”
You laughed softly, shaking your head as you texted him back. “𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐓𝐨𝐦. 𝐁𝐮𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐡𝐨’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆.𝐎.𝐀.𝐓. ! 🐐🏈”
Tears from laughing so hard filled your eyes at his response.
“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘/𝐍. 𝐁𝐮𝐭, 𝐢’𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐘/𝐍/𝐍. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐆𝐎 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐊𝐈𝐃 , 𝐆𝐎 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄 ! ⚽️Ⓜ️“
You were just in the middle of responding before he texted you again. “𝐁𝐔𝐂 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌 𝐔𝐏! 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐘 #𝟏𝟐 !”
Deciding that things could be left said like that, and only having twenty ministers remaining before the meeting started you decided to head down to the conference room to see who was there.
— — —
Once in the conference room you saw that Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski and the rest of of the staff were in there, you introduced yourself to them.
“Hi my name is Y/N Brady, i’m the new midfielder.” You smiled softly, as you stuck your hand out to Vlatko.
“Of course ! It’s great to finally meet you in person Y/N ! You can get settled wherever you’d like, the others should be arriving shortly.” Vlatko had told you with a soft smile of his own. The staff had introduced themselves, before you had sat down in a chair in the back row of chairs.
A few minutes later your new team members started to file in. Some gave you confused looks and others simply just smiled at you. You were happy that they hadn’t drilled you with questions yet.
Well, that was until a certain blonde defender chose to take the seat next to you. “Hi i’m Emily Sonnett, but you can call me Sonnett or Sonny.” She smiled brightly at you, with her hand held out to shake yours.
“Y/N Brady.” You returned the smile as you shook her hand with a firm shake. Turns out some of the teammates around you, were in fact ease dropping on your introduction.
“Like as in Tom Brady? Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback? Tom Brady?” Turns out the person who had sort of figured you out was USWNT Vet Alex Morgan.
You nodded slightly with a shy smile on your lips. “Yeah he’s my older brother.” You said softly, your anxiety spiking up inside you slightly by the new found attention. You knew you would have the spotlight on you sooner or later, but you didn’t think it would be that soon before someone figured you out.
“That’s so cool!” Sammy Mewis said as she came to sit by you with her sister Kristie. Noticing how shocked you were by the sudden attention, Kristie discreetly told Sammy to calm down a little.
About ten minutes later the rest of the team which included Tierna, Megan, Crystal, and Rose had walked in. Seeing the whole team come in Vlatko started the team meeting.
In the first fifteen minutes of the meeting Vlatko was talking about how excited he was to be coaching this amazing team. Then came the shoe you were waiting to drop had dropped.
“We have a new member on our team as you all see. This is Y/N Brady, make sure to give her a warm welcome.” He nodded your way, which caused everyone to turn to look at you.
“Hi..” You gave a short wave with a small smile. On the pitch your a total monster who strikes fear even into the ones who had a reputation to be a total beast. But off the pitch? You keep your emotions to yourself and only share what you feel with a select group of people (Tom being the number one person you go to).
Vlatko decided to take the spotlight off of you, saving you for only the next half hour to an hour before personal questions would be sprung on you.
— — —
At dinner you were sitting with Sonnett, Rose, Tierna, Sammy, Lindsey, Kristie, and Lynn. You had connected with Sonnett and Tierna the most. You were all laughing at a tiktok of Kevin Hart and Pete Davidson when Kelley, Tobin, Christen and Alex walked over to your guy’s table.
“What are you kids laughing at ?” Alex asked you all with a raised brow and a amused smile on her lips.
“Y/N showed us this tiktok of Kevin Hart and Pete Davidson at someone’s house.” Sammy told the vets when she finally calmed down from laughing so hard.
“Can we see it ?” Kelley asked you with a curious tone. Your head nodded, before handing her your phone so that they could watch also. A minute later Kelley handed you back your phone with a amused grin.
“We just wanted to let you guys know that team bonding is in our room tonight.” Christen said softly, before glancing at you with curiosity in her eyes.
“I’ve convinced Chris to let you guys decide amongst yourselves who gets to pick the movie. Also Chris agreed to let you guys bring snacks this time.” Tobin chuckled as Christen grumbled under breath with a playful eye roll to the older forward.
“Y/N want to pick the movie ?” Lindsey immediately asked you. Everyone around you looked at you waiting for your answer with either curious looks or small smiles.
“Uh yeah sure i’m down for that.” You nodded as you slipped your phone back into the pocket of your joggers. The vets returned back to their seats, as you and the rest of the young ones resumed your conversations.
— — —
You and Tierna walked to Tobin’s and Christens room which was only at the end of the hall by the elevators. Once you both were let in that’s when Crystal and JJ called you over to where some of the Vets were hanging out.
Making your way over to one of the beds, you sat down slowly as Megan made room for you to sit. “So, Brady how do you like the team so far ?” Megan asked you with a tilt of her head.
“Great actually. Everyone I met really has been very welcoming so far. No one’s really pushed the being Tom Brady’s sister subject yet, so that’s nice.” You played with the ring on your left middle finger, it was from your birthday. It didn’t have any gems on it, but you loved it because Tom had gotten it for you not only for your birthday but because you had just received your 20th cap for UofM.
“Glad to hear that, because if they weren’t I would be putting the fear of God in them.” Becky joked with a bright grin on her lips. The statement had caused Pinoe, JJ, Crystal, Carli, and Abby to start laughing.
“Brady’s actually really dope !” Sonnett defended as she heard Becky’s statement. Crystal and Abby laughed while the other three playfully rolled their eyes at the young defender.
Just then Tobin, Christen, Kelley, and Alex walked through the hotel room door. They all came to join the other Vets on the bed. That’s when Christen had decided to be first one to push the subject you hadn’t want to push yet.
“So what’s it like being Tom Brady’s little sister ?” Christen had asked you as she made herself more comfortable on the bed. You had wondered why Tobin and Christen were late to the team bonding meeting when it was in 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 hotel room, but you opted to answer her question.
“It’s great, besides the press following us around nonstop when we hangout. It gets a bit to much for the both of us, especially during our seasons.” You nodded along with your answer, as you continued to play with your ring.
Christen was going to ask you another question, but Tobin had cut her short of it. “So what movie did you pick for us to watch ?” Tobin asked as she smiled at you. She knew by the way you avoided eye contact when the family subject came up made you more anxious. In the future you would have to thank her for being so attentive to detail.
“I was thinking Venom.” You grinned brightly which did not go unnoticed by your older teammates. Oh how they would find out why that movie made you beam up would shock them all to hell.
“Well then let’s get to watching it then !” Kelley beamed, as she made herself comfortable on the bed.
— — —
You ended up on the floor with the rest of your young teammates, occasionally you would peak at your phone to see the score of Tom’s ongoing game.
The movie had just reached the middle, when you started to get sleepy. Your eyes fluttered shut for a few minutes then opened again. Leaning over to you Kristie told you to go to sleep, you argued with her in hush whispers before you had fallen asleep mid retort.
— — —
Waking up around 6 am, you grabbed your phone to look at the text message your brother had sent you when you were sleeping.
“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 ? 𝐎𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐘/𝐍/𝐍 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐬 ! 𝐖𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 🏴☠️ 𝐆𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐤𝐢𝐝 , 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐣𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 !”
You laughed quietly as you put the back down. That’s when you noticed that you were back in yours and Tierna’s hotel room, which means either Tierna or a Vet had carried you back.
You figured that you had a few hours before breakfast, so you just stayed in bed and thought about your future with this team. Maybe in the near future you would be more open with them, but you were still testing the waters with them. What made you curious was how Christen was acting around you yesterday, it was like she was trying to make you uncomfortable.
You definitely had a lot to learn about them, but you were all in to do so. You thought about how you were starting to feel a little homesick already, Michigan has been your home for two years now and you certainly enjoyed the life there. About ten minutes later you started to drift off, until a soft knock to your hotel door brought you back to being semi awake.

hi, is it okay to ask for another alex morgan? where alex's girlfriend is a singer (has vocals that can reach high notes much like ariana grande), during an award show, the reader has to perform with one of her high notes being in the song. Alex is just a proud girlfriend while her teammates teases her, saying stuff like 'does she reach those high notes in bed?' comments similar enough.
sorry if this sucks @babieviseul

High Note
You had met Alex when you were out shopping for groceries which was a risky move on your part considering paparazzi were literally everywhere. The two of you had practically bumped into each other. You noticed who she was and she knew who you were.
You struck up a conversation with her. Although, you don’t remember what it was about at all. It was awkward; she had been a crush of yours for the longest and you were flustered beyond belief.
You exchanged numbers and talked day after day until Alex had gained the guts to ask you out. She was also the one to make things official after your 6th date.
About 7 months into your relationship, her team found out and pressured her into introducing you to them. Alex had known that the team was just a group of fangirls and warned you of their hyper nature beforehand. That day was one you’ll never forget.
Due to your career as a popular singer, you had to be away quite a bit. Whether that be working in a studio, doing collabs, tours, award shows; the list could go on.
Right now, you were away for an award show. And while Alex would usually accompany you, this time she couldn’t as camp had clashed her schedule.
Today, the award show you were attending will be airing tonight. Alex scarfed down her dinner, wanting to make sure she got there on time.
“Wow, Al. Calm down, the TV isn't going anywhere,” Ali said.
“Yeah, don’t choke,” Kelley snickered.
The forward glared at her and continued eating at a slightly slower pace. Once she was finished, the woman was quick to head up to her room and turn the television to the correct station.
As the first commercial came, the door was swung open with Kelley barging in, the rest of the team following behind her.
“What are you...you know what? I don’t care, just shut up.”
The host announced your name and you came on singing your newly released song, in an elegant dress and headpiece.
The team watched as the lyrics flowed out of your mouth with a graceful element that only few people had.
Sonnett being Sonnett, of course, had to make a joke.
“Does she reach those notes in bed?”
The woman was quick to receive a slap to the back of the head courtesy of Christen. The youngins who were laughing were quickly quieted by the forward’s harsh glare.
Alex, however, just ignored them. She was so enthralled by your beauty that she couldn’t care less about what anybody says.
Eventually, the show was over and everyone slowly filtered out into their own rooms. As the last few vets left, Alex’s phone buzzed and she quickly picked it up, seeing a text from you.
She was quickly sucked into the world of technology and continued to talk to you.
“Hey Al,” Kelley called.
“Hmm?”
“Does she hit high notes in bed?” the woman asked jokingly.
“Uhhh, yeah sure,” the forward replied distractedly.
The defender cackled before being pushed out of the room by Carli.

Glad You Came (Julie x Reader)
Request: Julie x reader where reader is kind of the fuckgirl of the team. Reader knows that julie have feelings for her and like her attention. Julie thinks that reader plays with her feelings. But reader actually like julie and try to get her trust back. End with fluff please.
Author’s Note: Idk if this actually fits the prompt, but I just couldn’t get the image out of my head. I hope you all enjoy.
Jj had always been a sucker for a good Rom-Com. The ones where the good girl fell for the bad boy (with a good heart) and that bad boy stepped up to the plate and got his shit together for her.
But alas, though you were the team’s resident bad girl, this wasn’t a rom-com and it appeared you had zero intention of making a dent in your precious reputation. At least that’s what she thought.
You always did have a knack for proving people wrong.
*****
The bouquet of roses was the first thing everyone noticed when they stepped into the locker room. It was an amazing surprise after such a rough practice. A not entirely unexpected, but still incredible surprise.
JJ blushed as she approached her overflowing locker. This secret admirer stuff was getting a bit out of hand.
“Why does Julie get roses, but none of the rest of us do?” Emily whined, settling down in front of her own bare cubby.
Lindsey rolled her eyes. If JJ was going to keep getting gifts from a random person, she and the rest of the girls with significant others on the team were really going to have to step up their game.
“You don’t like dead flowers Sonnett,” She called to the blond 3 lockers over.
“Yeah, but it’s not fair if she gets them and the rest of us don’t,” Emily sighed dramatically, and the rest of the room giggled.
“It's from her admirer,” Kelley chimed in, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
JJ’s blush deepened. She carefully reached out and grabbed the thornless Rose with a little tag on it, bringing the delicate petals to her nose before examining the little handwritten note.
“Ooo, what’s the note say this time?” Kelley asked, as half the team crowded around the midfielder.
Julie took a big deep breath before reading the black cursive words out loud.
“I wanted to get you something as beautiful as you are, but couldn’t find anything that came close,”
“Awww,” the team cooed, some rubbing Julie’s back and others ruffling her hair as they made their way back to their respective areas.
She ran her fingers over the little words, trying to imagine the face of the person who could have written them. The person who would go to such lengths to show their interest in her. But the gifts were always sweet and never creepy.
The gifts ranged from coffee orders sent to her hotel room, to a signed Mia Hamm jersey that had shown up in her locker, but the thing that always remained was the smooth black cursive notes that accompanied them.
She brushed the soft petals against her nose again. How she longed to know who thought so highly of her.
“Who could get roses in here?” Sam snorted, pulling her boots off.
“It’s gotta be a teammate. They show up literally everywhere we go,” Rose said thoughtfully, glancing around at all the women in the room, her eyes lingering on where you were grinning down at your phone.
There was just something about your smile and the way you kept glancing up at a certain blond midfielder.
“At least we know it’s not Y/n,” Emily cackled.
You looked up at the group from your place across the room, where they all thought you were trying to ignore the commotion (probably in favor of texting a random girl for a hookup).
You had the reputation of being the fuckgirl of the team. And you took pride in that. You liked when women gave you attention, and as long as everything was consensual, you didn’t see the harm in messing around. That didn’t mean you treated women like objects. Quite the opposite. You loved to woo them, to make them feel beautiful, and then move on to the next conquest.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“With a body count as high as yours, I doubt you’re capable of being this romantic,” Julie spat back, glaring at you. Your history with her was far from perfect, and she had found out about your reputation first hand.
You smirked. If you couldn’t positively have her attention (the way you wanted but were too afraid to admit), then you would take the hostility any day. Angry Julie was still sexy after all.
“How do you think I get them into my bed? Maybe I’m a secret mush at heart,” You asked, standing and approaching the woman. Your hands gently brushed over her shoulder and you began to lean in close to her.
She brought her finger up to push against your nose, stopping you in your tracks. You tried and failed to cover your smile at the touch.
“Yeah right,” She scoffed, shoving you back.
Your smile widened, as you stepped back, your arms wide. “You never know till you try it, Jules,”
“Been there, done that. No thanks,” She shook her head and turned away from you. “At least I have enough class not to fuck anything with a pulse”
Rose tilted her head to the side at the brief look of sadness that crossed your features. Her eyebrows furrowed at the look, and how quickly it was gone.

You picked at the tape around your wrist- a habit that started in middle school after an unfortunate event that required stitches and had become one of your many signatures within the team. The pressure around the area was calming now, and always put you in the right mode of a game.
It also gave you something to absentmindedly play with as you waited for the next set of drills on the bench (totally not checking out a certain blond when she wasn’t looking).
“When are you going to tell her that you’re her admirer?” Rose said, settling down on the bench beside you.
You shrugged. “First, I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.” You glanced up at the bling again, before blinking back to Rose’s raised eyebrow.
You took a deep breath, finally managing to get a finger under the tape.
“And second never. I’m defective remember? Completely incapable of love,”
You repeated the words JJ had said to you that fateful night. The night you had ruined the best almost relationship you ever had. It wasn’t you exactly, just the fact that a woman was texting you while you were in bed with Julie. You weren’t going to respond, but the blond midfielder had caught sight of the screen before you could clear the notification.
That was enough proof for her. She kicked you out and didn’t let you explain- there was nothing to say apparently.
“That’s why you always send her flowers and notes, and other gooey stuff right?” Rose rolled her eyes.
She had known you since the two of you were in diapers. She knew all about your hang-ups on relationships, but she also knew the secret romantic side. The sweet side that you didn’t show to everyone. Everyone except a blond midfielder (who was still very smitten with you, even if you didn’t want to believe it).
“I-,” You paused, biting your lip, your eyes getting that faraway look Rose knew all too well. You shook your head. You had your shot and it had blown up in your face. “She doesn’t want me. It’s just easier this way,”
“What, to hopelessly pine after someone? Or to completely avoid rejection all together?” Rose snorted.
You shook your head again, finally looking rose in the eyes. “I hurt her Rose. She doesn’t want someone she can’t trust,”
Rose softened at the admission and the unspoken “I’m not good enough” that went with it. You had always struggled with that, maybe that’s why you were such a lady killer. You so badly wanted to be enough, that you jumped at every opportunity. But it was different after you met JJ.
“How many people have you slept with within the last 3 months?” Rose asked suddenly.
And you blinked at her a few times, completely unsure of where your best friend was going with this.
“What?”
Rose rolled her eyes. “If you can’t think of an exact number, ballpark it for me,”
You vehemently shook your head. You hadn’t met a hookup since that night, too hung up on JJ, and afraid that continuing would destroy any remaining chance you had with the woman.
“I haven’t,”
Rose snapped, patting your shoulder. “Exactly. You’re proving to her, the entire team really, that you can change. She’ll come around, especially if you’re honest with her and I don’t know, try to keep it in your pants for once,”
The team had taken notice of your change, how you hadn’t engaged in hookups. Only a few of them knew the real reason behind your apparent abstinence.
“You think?” You asked softly, and Rose sent you an indulgent smile.
“Yeah, you just gotta grow a pair and tell her you’ve been her secret admirer for the last 6 months,” She finished with a cackle and you blushed.
That was easier said than done.
*****
Julie had never been this impressed in her entire life. Sure she had been to some amazing restaurants before, but nothing like the little place her admirer had chosen. She felt every bit of hesitance leave her as she stepped into the building. It was quaint and romantic with an amazing buzz in the air.
She had found the handwritten note with the time and place on the floor outside her hotel room door, along with one of the cutest black dresses she had ever seen. It fit her perfectly, and she looked good if she did say so herself.
She approached the hostess stand, and the man behind the counter smiled at her. “Good evening miss, how may we assist you?”
She smiled back at him. “Um, I have a reservation. It’s under Mystique,” she said, suppressing a grin at the name her admirer had chosen.
The man’s smile widened as he reached into his suit jacket pocket, and retrieved a neatly folded letter. “Ah, yes. I have this for you,”
JJ to the heavy paper in her hands, running her fingers over her name written in familiar black cursive reverently. Her admirer rarely ever wrote her name out.
She very carefully unfolded the note, revealing more of her favorite handwriting.
Julie,
First and foremost, I’m so glad you could make it. I know I’ve written this beforehand, but I must say I’m sure you look amazing. You always look amazing. It doesn’t matter if it’s during practice, or during one of our very chill team bonding nights. You never fail to take my breath away, but that’s not why it’s taken me so long to finally grow a pair and come clean.
I know that you and I have history and that I’m not your ideal significant other, but I promise you’re not just another person to add to my long list. You make me feel things I’ve never really felt before, and that scares me. I don’t know how to do this, and I can’t promise I’ll be perfect, but I can promise that I’ll try my best. I will do everything I can to show you how much I love you, and to be someone worthy of your love in return.
Now comes the hard part. If you want to give me the chance to show you that I’ve grown up and am ready for a serious relationship, just tell the matroids you would like to take a drink at the bar. or If you don’t want to see me, but want to eat, just tell him you’re ready for your table. Your meal will be paid for, and I’ll leave you alone. We can even pretend it never happened if you would prefer. Or if you want neither of those things, you can walk away.
The choice is yours J. Ill respect whatever you choose, and no hard feelings either way.
Truly yours,
Y/n
Julie stared down at the letter, completely stunned, almost unable to believe that you could ever do anything this remotely romantic. A small part of her cheered as if she was waiting for you to finally step up.
She didn’t hate you, contrary to popular belief. She just thought you were incredibly confusing. You would flaunt your reputation, but then you would be sweet and shy with her. In the end, your first try at a relationship didn’t work because she was tired of you jerking her around. But this was a side to you she had never seen. One that intrigued her to no end.
“Have you made your decision ma’am?” The maitre d’ asked kindly, sliding up beside her. She blinked up from the neat handwriting towards the man (who looked like he wanted to say more).
She nodded at the man. “I have. I’d like to have a drink at the bar please,”
his smile was blinding as he gestured to the left with his arm. “Right this way,”
*****
You carefully swirled your finger around the rim of your drink, staring listlessly into the amber liquid. You weren’t quite sure how long you had been sitting here, but with every passing second, you couldn’t help but think about how much of a terrible idea this was.
She was never going to choose to come sit with you at the bar, and the longer you waited, the more pathetic you would look in the end.
You almost felt bad for the staff. They were so excited to help, so enthusiastic about helping you get the girl of your dreams. You were sure you were going to disappoint them.
“Fancy meeting you here stranger,” Her voice cut through your internal monologue. You lifted your head to meet her blue eyes, and the sight alone took your breath away.
“JJ, you came,” You said breathlessly, standing to greet the woman.
“I did,” She nodded, blushing when you took her hand and kissed the back of it before pulling out a chair for her. You sat down next to her, flagging down the bartender for the woman.
“You look stunning,” You said softly, finally turning in her direction, and she caught the light shade of pink that tinted your cheeks.
“So you’ve said,” Julie laughed, holding up the letter. The red in your cheeks spread up to your ears and down your neck as you ducked your head in embarrassment.
“Megan may have helped me pick it out…” You mumbled, your fingers returning to your glass.
Rose may or may not have gotten the entire team involved when she finally convinced you to make your move. While you were relieved to have help picking out the perfect outfit, you hadn’t enjoyed being made fun of for your “questionable” fashion sense.
“Was she behind the other gifts too?” Julie asked, taking a sip of her drink with a raised eyebrow.
You shook your head, rubbing the back of your neck. “No. Those were all me,”
Julie smiled softly, reaching up to intertwine your fingers. She wasn’t used to seeing you so shy. It was kinda adorable.
“Well, I loved them,”
You nodded again, taking a big gulp of your drink, trying to calm your racing heart. “I’m really glad you came. I was afraid you would find out it was me and change your mind,”
“I’m glad I came too,”
You smiled brilliantly at the woman. You hadn’t completely redeemed yourself yet, not like Zuko or Snape, but at least you were going to have the chance to try. You weren’t going to let her slip through your fingers again.

It’s been awhile since I made a long scrolling post with my scalding takes on a soccer game. HERE WE GO.
She Believes. USWNT v Czech Republic
Casey Murphy - didn’t get tested too much, but got the nod with the start so YAY for her!
Baby T - she’s so CALM. It really is wild how she’s playing a high pressure, usually the last defender position, and she’s just chilling. She had a handful of chippy fouls but big love to baby T.
Alana - I feel like I don’t have too much to say because she went out there and did what she needed to do! She didn’t have to do anything extraordinary, she just had to be solid. And she absolutely was.
Emily Fox - weird that she only got one half because she WAS doing well! She was great one on one and came up to connect and make crosses
Kelley - let me say, that old bag of dirt still has legs!! Really kept the energy for the full ninety and gave us so many more options coming forward. Her nutmeg was just, such a Kelley move, I feel like she always tries it in that spot. So good thing she got it!! But her crosses? Or like, attempted diagonal balls. It wasn’t the move this game. It was either going to the keeper and it felt like her hips weren’t turned and it kept floating instead of curling
Sonnett - with the SPARK with Kristie to start the second half. It’s very clear that her and Kristie and Trinity work well together. That was good fun. Her cross to that Trinity header was SO GOOD. She got caught double teamed a few times which made turning out of pressure tough. Also her hand ball. We got fuckin LUCKY
Becky - p rude that Rebecca had to SUB INTO her 200 cap match, but she doesn’t seem to be the kind of person to care about that. She’s so solid, such a pro. She was directing everyone as soon as she came in and I loved it
Rose - SWEET Rose. God she’s so much fun. Kelley had the armband, but Rose led that team all first half. Her movement, her willingness to try things and to shoot, her combos with Cat 😍. Put out your prayer candles that she stays healthy because I want Rose always
Andi - the. Work. Rate. Is. Unmatched. Like duh the whole team works hard but Andi is constantly looking for what needs to be done and getting herself there to do it. We didn’t have our regular size advantage in midfield and she took it upon herself to be the most physical presence in the middle of the field.
Moe - I hope she did better in training because I was not overly impressed. She seemed to not match the intensity and was getting beat physically. Was not surprised at the halftime sub.
Sanchez - good energy, could be a little stronger on the ball. Obviously worked well with her Spirit teammates. She just needs to tighten things up, there’s a lot of potential
Kristie - made an ENORMOUS difference being out there. She had some insane flick passes, great runs on and off the ball, and combined well with so many players out there. AND she was always the first to follow shots for a chance at a second ball. And that spin turn! We all saw that? Right? God.
Mal - Foudy kept saying she had moments of brilliance but I honestly kept forgetting she was out there. Her corners left something to be desired. I wish she had been involved more - there just wasn’t a lot happening with Moe and Fox. They were an unfamiliar three and didn’t connect.
Sophia - she another one that is so much fun. She is fearless, and is confident enough to just go for it. When she drew 2 defenders out and gave a solid Tobin attempt to take them on… I mean, it didn’t work but she tried! She rotated well with Kelley and ran her ass off. ‘Twas a good game
Midge - her touches were so clean and I wish she had more time. She was working super well off the ball, but happened to be on the side that had less action. MORE MIDGE NEXT GAME
Cat - it’s nuts how young she is and how composed she is. Feels like a theme with all the young Stanford players. A few of her touches in the box let her down but she was involved in all our good moments. Her movement between the midfield and front line to open things up, her vision, just, very very good. Gonna need a sick combo with her and Rose next game to make up for this goose egg result.
And Trinity! First cap, first cap!! V similar to how she plays in NWSL, which, makes sense. She had some really promising moments but I’m cool with her easing into things. She’s so eager and ready to go a million miles an hour. Her runs down the side were great, some good crosses, chances in the box and willingness to help on defense. What a beginning for her.
So. Not the result we want. Goals are certainly way more fun. But it wasnt BAD. Well, maybe the corners were bad. We don’t suck though. Czech Republic just plays like South Korea and we struggle with that. Nothing new. And to be fair, the Czech keeper was really good. I would like to ASSUME they practice breaking that kind of defense down, but I would like to stupidly recommend that they WORK ON THAT MORE
Goooooooodnight

We Fall In Love With People We (Think) We Can’t Have (Alex Morgan x Reader)
Anonymous Request: Alex Morgan x Reader: They have a friends with benefits relationship, but R catches feelings, so she tells Alex b/c it seems like there were mixed signals indicating that she may like her too, only to be rejected. They stop their sexy times and R finds comfort in Sonny. Over time, Alex notices this and becomes more and more jelly. She snaps when the team starts sharing fan vids of them together. R runs after her when she leaves and then Alex kisses her. Angst and fluff like fuck me up pls.
Mentions of smut and a WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEEE lot of angst.
You should’ve known, you should’ve known, the fleeting touches, the longing gazes, all hints in your mind, were only hints in YOUR mind.
All of the time you spent together, all of the time you spent waking up at night, the two of you entirely bare, the room clouded with the scent of sex and your bodies sore, meant absolutely nothing to Alex Morgan.
“You knew when we started this that this was sex and ONLY sex.”
You remember the look on her face, the complete and utter confusion, mixed with something akin to pity.
She pitied you.
Pitied you because you’d fallen in love with her, all those nights you spent by her side, watching her sleep peacefully, your bodies dotted with purple bruises, had meant absolutely nothing to her, while it had meant the world to you.
You’d nodded, tears in your eyes as you turned and sprinted out of her hotel room, essentially ending the ‘relationship’ or lack thereof between the two of you.
Nothing would ever be the same between you again, because you had the audacity to fall in love with someone who wouldn’t ever love you back.
And that someone was Alex Morgan.
***
After that night, you steered clear of Alex Morgan, willing your eyes to stay off of her in an attempt to dull the utter heartbreak you were feeling.
“Whoa, what’s wrong with Y/N? She looks heartbroken.” Kelley frowns at the look on your face and Alex sighs, shrugging.
“I don’t know.”
Kelley scoffs.
“Don’t give me that shit Morgan, Emily said Y/N was crying when she came back to their room last night.”
Alex’s blue orbs disappear behind her closed eyelids, a lump forming in the woman’s throat.
The last thing she EVER had wanted to do was hurt you.
“I mean, you guys were banging weren’t-
“I don’t want to talk about it, Kelley.” Alex bites, Kelley holding her hands up in surrender.
“Alright, alright, calm down Jan.”
Alex glances your way out of the corner of her eye, catching the small smile on your face as Emily wraps her arms around you, the woman giving you a tight squeeze.
The second your arms slip around her neck, Alex’s stomach twists violently, her heart clenching in her chest.
She could have that.
She could have that, but she’d screwed up.
Screwed up because she’d told you she didn’t feel the same, but in reality, she did, she did feel the same.
But she was Alex Morgan.
And there was NO way Alex Morgan could be bisexual.
Right?
***
The more time Alex spent away from you, the more she missed you, missed the feel of the rising and falling of your chest against hers, missed the feel of waking up beside you in the morning, missed the smile on your face that had been directed at her.
In this case though, that smile wasn’t directed at her.
It was directed at Emily Sonnett.
Emily rests her head on your shoulder and moments later, you rest your head on top of hers, the harmless interaction between the two of you making Alex’s stomach twist in jealousy, her eyes burning a hole in the back of Emily’s head.
“Hey.”
Alex turns her glare away from Emily as she turns to Kelley, the defender’s eyes widening at the look at her face.
“Al, they’re just friends.”
Alex scoffs.
“It’s not like I care anyway.” She growls, turning away from her best friend.
Kelley rolls her eyes, lips parting to snark at the forward, but at the look in her blue orbs her mouth snaps shut.
Alex wasn’t just feeling anger at the sight of you and Emily together, it was sadness as well.
***
“Has she tried to talk to you?” Emily whispers from her place on the bench beside you and you shake her head.
“No, not once.”
Emily hums, her hazel orbs locking on the forward’s form, a forward who’s currently glancing your way.
“I think she wants to.”
You follow her gaze, catching familiar blue orbs on you before their owner abruptly turns away.
You shrug.
“What if I don’t want to talk to her?” You mumble, Emily frowning as she places a hand on your back.
“You do.”
You turn to Emily with a frown.
“What if I don’t like what she has to say?” You whisper, trying to hide the tears growing in your eyes.
Emily cups your cheeks, the woman resting her forehead against yours, uncaring that the two of you are literally being watched by thousands of fans.
“Listen to me, if she doesn’t want to be with you, it’s her loss.” She whispers, the woman smiling as she kisses your forehead, the blonde, much like yourself forgetting where you’re at in that moment.
You didn’t bank on the fans taking notice, as well as a certain forward on field, the woman’s hands balling into fists.
***
“Ohhhh, look at the USWNT’s newest shippp!” Megan sings, passing you her phone, a picture of you and Emily on the screen, the blonde’s forehead resting against yours.
Emily’s cheeks flush, as do yours.
“Ugh, that picture was taken out of context.” Emily mumbles, swiping Megan’s phone from you, the woman glaring at the screen.
“C’mon, you guys look cute together.” Lindsey teases.
Further down the dinner table Alex clutches her fork tightly, a hard lump forming in her throat.
Kelly watches worriedly, Alex’s irritated state noticed by a number of her teammates within her vicinity.
Christen and Tobin share a glance, as do Ali and Ashlyn, the two turning back to Alex who looks as if she’s about to blow a gasket.
She can feel the silverware bend in her hold, the woman’s stomach cramping.
She couldn’t believe it, after only 4 months you were flaunting your relationship in front of her like what happened between the two of you hadn't mattered.
Alex’s heart sinks in her chest.
She’d done this.
She was the reason you’d even HAD the opportunity to get with Emily.
She was the reason you were currently finding comfort in arms that weren’t hers.
Alex shakes her head, blinking back the tears gathering in her eyes, tears she hopes no one sees, tears Kelley sees, tears Tobin and Christen see, tears Ali and Ashlyn see.
Tears she was shedding from thinking about what could have been.
What could have been if she hadn’t turned you down.
What could have been if she realized she loved you sooner.
***
It wasn’t hard to see that Alex Morgan was exhausted, the bags under her blue orbs a dark purple, looking as if she’d either been in a fight, or hadn’t slept in weeks.
She noticeably had been slower on field, prompting Vlatko to take action, meaning ordering her to get what she needed, rest.
The woman unable to participate in practices and games until she felt better.
But she wouldn’t feel better, because right now, she was experiencing what you had when she first spurned you.
She deserved to feel this way.
“Jan, I can’t see you like this...” Kelley frowns sadly.
“Like what?” Alex snarks. “I’m fine.”
“Al, you’re-
“I said I’m fine.” Alex growls, cutting Tobin off, the forward frowning sadly, worriedly.
“Listen, you can’t stay in bed all day, it’s movie night tonight and you’re coming with us...” Kelley gives her leg a nudge and Alex groans.
“I’m not going.” She grumbles under her breath, snarling when Christen jerks the covers off of her.
“Yes, you are. You need to spend time with the team, it’ll help.”
Alex shakes her head, hiding her face in her pillow.
“No, it won’t...” She sighs, whispering into the pillow so the others can’t hear.
“It won’t because she’ll be there.”
***
Unfortunately for Alex, she ends up in the hotel room packed with her teammates for movie night, the forward keeping her distance away from not only you and Emily, but everyone else as well.
Her teammates worriedly glance her way, though none of them speak, scared that it could drive her back into her hotel room, back into solitude.
Alex can’t keep her eyes off of you, tired blue orbs on your profile, tired blue orbs that you find yourself gazing into every once in a while, the forward abruptly turning away from you.
You frown sadly.
You wanted to help her, you wanted to hold her like you used to, but you couldn’t, you couldn’t because she didn’t reciprocate your feelings, feelings you had yet to get over.
You could see it, even from across the room, Alex’s eyes were puffy and swollen, despite the time she spent curled up in bed, it looked as if she hadn’t been sleeping. Her skin was pale, lacking the usual glow she had, and lips were cracked, chapped from neglect.
“Ohhh, look at thissssss.”
You turn to Ashlyn, the woman’s voice pulling you out of your trance, she and Megan grinning your way.
“You and Emily have a new fan video.” Megan teases, missing the way that Alex tenses up.
Emily rolls her eyes.
“We’re just friends.” She pouts and Ashlyn snorts.
“NOT according to THIS.” She holds her phone out, sappy music playing through the speakers as photos of you and Emily play on the screen as well as a number of clips where the two of you were celebrating goals, Emily kissing your cheek.
Abruptly, so abrupt in fact that everyone jumps, Alex moves to her feet and makes a mad dash for the door.
“Al! Wait!” You call out, chasing after her, but just as you’re slipping through the door you hear another door slam, presumably the one to Alex’s hotel room.
You move towards the door, wrapping your knuckles against its hard surface.
“Alex, come out and talk to me, please.” You plea, but your pleas go unanswered.
You knock until your knuckles flush so red, you know they’ll be bruised in the morning, but you don’t care, you just want to get to her.
Eventually though, the knocking ceases and on the other side of the door, Alex’s tears begin to fall.
***
Considering you’re in town for a tournament, you don’t do much bus riding, so catching Alex on the bus was a no go, though each and every time you tried to catch her coming out of her hotel room, she’d somehow slip passed you and out of your grasp.
Attempts to talk Kelley into giving you her hotel key had failed, the defender wanting to protect her best friend, which you completely understood and didn’t blame her for.
It isn’t till days later that you FINALLY cease your opportunity, catching Alex alone in the locker room after a rough game against Sweden.
The woman doesn’t even see you coming considering she’s sitting on the bench, her hands covering her face.
Your teammates silently slip out of the room, giving the two of you the much needed space you so crave.
“Alex?”
The forward’s head snaps up, her tired blue orbs wide, she’d been so lost in her pity party at having a terrible game that she hadn’t realized that the locker room was empty and that the two of you were the only ones left.
Alex jumps to her feet, ready to make a break for it, but the look on your face makes her still, a look of utter sadness, but also, hints of anger.
“Alex, please tell me what’s going on... I can’t see you like this...”
Alex closes her eyes, your words falling on deaf ears as she tries to fight back what she’d been wanting to do for months, fought back the urge to run to you and take you into her arms.
“Are you even listening to me!? ALEX! TALK TO ME DAMN IT!” You snap as you advance on the woman, the woman who can no longer keep herself back.
Alex’s lips meet yours in a kiss like none you’d ever shared before, her lips soft, the kiss in no way filled with lust, but something else.
She pulls back, tilting her head to change the angle of the kiss, kisses that are growing more heated, that is until you’re guiding her backwards into a locker, the woman ending up sitting in the locker as the two of you kiss.
It isn’t long before your tongue is pushing passed Alex’s lips and swiping against her own, the woman moaning into your mouth as her hands run down your back.
Your tongues tangle, flicking and rubbing against one another in such a way that makes your body shudder, the feeling of her tongue against yours bringing back a multitude of memories, night’s you’d spent together, bare and covered in sweat.
Alex pushes you back suddenly, guiding you back into a wall, her tongue swiftly dominating your own, that is until the forward starts to slow the kisses down, her tongue no longer in the picture as her lips meet yours in a way that makes your heart warm, a warmth that spreads throughout your chest.
Alex’s nose brushes your own, you think on accident, but you quickly realize it’s purposeful, a smile stretching across her face, a smile you hadn’t seen in weeks.
You cup her cheeks, resting your forehead against hers as you stroke the bags under her eyes.
“I think we need to talk... Don’t you?” You whisper and she nods, blue orbs fluttering shut as she leans into your touch.
“Yeah, we do.”
***
Your eyes narrow as you stare at Alex, the forward shuffling nervously under you gaze.
Alex stiffens when you reach for her, taking her hand and leading her to the bed, the two of you sitting on the end of it.
“Al, please talk to me...” You whisper, stroking the back of her hand with your thumb.
Alex takes comfort in the feeling the woman’s eyes fluttering shut as she blurts out her confession, a confession that had been bottled up inside, wanting to escape the confides of her throat.
“I was jealous.” She whispers, the woman unable to open her eyes, unable to find the courage to see your reaction.
Your brows furrow in question before your eyes widen.
“Emily?” You ask, the forward tensing.
You shake your head, chuckling, that chuckle making Alex’s eyes flash open.
Alex’s heart skips a beat as you cup her cheeks.
“She was just a shoulder to cry on, we’re only friends.” You whisper, leaning in to rest your forehead against hers.
“So...” Alex swallows hard.
“You’re just friends?” She asks and you nod.
“Just friends.”
Alex nods, the woman swallowing hard.
“I’m sorry for what happened...” She whispers, your eyes slamming shut as you pull away, the woman already missing your touch.
“Does that... Does that mean you just want to be friends?” You ask, the forward shaking her head.
“No!” She cries, clearing her throat when she realizes she’d basically screamed at you.
“No...” She whispers, cupping your cheeks this time.
“I didn’t realize my feelings were as strong as they were until I lost you, until I thought you loved someone else.” She whispers, her head hanging in shame.
“Could you ever forgive me?” She sniffles, eyes welling up with tears as she thinks of the prospect of you not forgiving her.
You lean in, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose.
“Of course I forgive you.”
Alex’s head perks up, her eyes widening as tears stream down her cheeks, tears you’re quick to wipe away.
“There’s something I need you to do for me.” You whisper, the woman sighing as she rest her forehead back against yours.
“Anything.”
You pull away, kissing her forehead as you give her arm a tug.
“Get some sleep, I know you’re exhausted.” You say, your index finger brushing beneath her blood shot, red and puffy eyes.
Alex grabs your hand before you can pull away.
“Will you...” She swallows hard.
“Will you stay?” She asks and you smile.
“Of course.”
The two of you crawl up to the head of the bed, a grin stretching across your face as Alex spreads your legs and settles on your chest, burying her nose in your neck, the woman releasing a sigh, a relaxed sigh that tells you how much she’d been missing you.
The woman nuzzles into the soft flesh just behind your ear, remaining silent for a moment before she whispers, words slurring as she fights off sleep.
“I want to try this... With you...” She whispers, your eyes widening.
Alex Morgan, the woman who’d spurned your advances before was now asking you if you wanted to take those feelings to the next level.
You smile, your lips parting to give her an emphatic yes, that is until you realize she’s fast asleep in your arms.
Your grin, turning your head to kiss her forehead.
“I want to try this with you too.”

She’s been corrupted! (Uswnt x Reader) Part 2
Request: Hey, I don't know if the requests are open, but if they are, could you consider writing a part 2 to "She's been corrupted" where R prank all the misfits showing that she's actually corrupted, but then when they went to confront her about it she pretend to be innocent and not knowing what they are talking about, please?
Sorry for any mistakes, please enjoy!
The team was meeting in one of the conference rooms and as everyone started to pile in Y/n, Ash and Ali walked in with Pinoe and Kelley trailing behind them.
Y/n tried to hide a smile that was growing on her face but didn’t cover it up quick enough, Ashlyn being the only one to spot it.
She gave the kid a questioning look while Y/n just looked the other way, directing her attention to the superiors in the room.
Kelley sat down on the opposite side of the table while Pinoe followed her, but when Pinoe sat down a loud farting sound was heard.
All eyes were on Megan as she got up a blush hitting her face temporarily but she knew her teammates too well to not already know what was at play. Pulling the whoopee cushion from under her seat, she threw it at Kelley as most of the team started to laugh at both of their misfortune.
“You just started a war, O’Hara.” Kelley looked genuinely confused, but couldn’t say anything before Coach started to calm everyone down and explain why the meeting was called.
-----
It was quiet for a day with no pranks happening which was weird for the team after Pinoe clearly stated her want for revenge for a majority of the day.
But as practice was about to start everyone understood why.
Everyone was already on the field so they all saw Kelley come out of the locker room, hopping on one foot as she put a cleat on her other. "Back-stabbed, betrayed, broken-hearted. All these words are how I feel about you... Emily Sonnett."
Y/n cringed as she heard Kelley’s words, hoping she didn’t start a wildfire that would be unstoppable, but before anything more can happen Dawn barked, “You’re late, O’Hara. 3 Laps.”
“Dawn, I swear Emily-” Kelley tried to argue her point.
“3 laps. Now. Or the whole team run 3 each then you’ll run an extra 5.”
All the girls froze, until Y/n sucked it up and decided this was her little slap on the wrist for becoming a prankster. “Come on Kelley, you win I’ll wash your kit for the next two weeks.”
Everyone seemed to perk up at this and even Dawn was a little interested.
“And if you win?” Kelley asked not wanting for this too be to risky.
Y/n shrugged her shoulders, “Bragging rights, I guess.”
“Little goodie two shoes.” Megan was the one to mumble the phrase, making Ash and Ali lightly glare at the woman.
“Have it your way.” And with that Kelly took off running not even giving Y/n and her the chance to line up and start. But Y/n was fast on her feet, bolting after the Squirrel.
Cheers started to come from the team on the sideline as the two finish their first lap, they were neck and neck. Then Y/n started to intentionally lose speed, as she kept her reserves until the last leg of the last lap.
“Come on, Kelley!”
“You got this kid!”
The cheering was about even but as the last lap came up, people either got louder or held their breath as there was now a sizable gap between the two.
Christen in particular had quieted down, recognizing that maybe Y/n was about to pull a hat trick. She was a track star herself so she noticed Y/n slow down when Press would have slowed down herself and speed up when she needed to.
The last lap was now in motion and the moment Y/n came into it she started to pick up her pace, replaying the bet in her head. As much as Y/n loved everyone on this team there were some things where a line had to be drawn.
Halfway through the lap and Y/n pushed herself to go faster than Kelley closing the gap. And now they were in the final leg, they were tied again, Y/n moving past Kelley as the cheers increased.
Kelley tried to pick up her speed but her legs were already asking for a break, letting Y/n cross the finish line victoriously. Gaining her bragging rights.
Y/n panted as she slowed, Kelley mimicking her. Ashlyn tossed the kid a water bottle, receiving a grateful nod. Kelley getting hers from Tobin.
“When did you learn to be speedy like Pressy?” Tobin asked the younger player.
Y/n shrugged her shoulders again, quickly fighting the smirk that was surfacing. “I have many talents.”
-----
The pranks didn’t seem to stop some of them were easy to know who did it but others remained a mystery. The group of misfits had had enough. The pranks seemingly aimed at each other, rarely breaching their group.
That was until Megan, Mal, Sonnett, Lindsey, Rose, and Kelley were walking it their hotel to get to their rooms, entering a hallway with a doorway. It was an older hotel so some of the architecture didn’t make sense but that wasn’t the problem.
The problem was the dummy dressed as a gory clown about to drop itself in the path of its unsuspecting victims. There was a hidden camera that was motion activated that would record their reactions after releasing the clown.
The group walked up to the already opened doors and all of them cried out or screamed as the dummy fell, Megan and Kelley falling back all of them scurrying off in the opposite direction.
“WAIT FOR ME!”
-----
Y/n came out from her hiding spot, well after the girls had disappeared, now doubled over in laughter. “Oh, that is so going on social media now.”
“What’s going on social media, kid?” Alyssa asked as she walked down the hall spotting the kid.
Y/n froze awkwardly, “Nothing, nothing at all.”
The goalkeeper paused for a second, looking at what was in the doorway. “Might want to take that down before someone see it, it will ruin any element of surprise you have. Other than that I won’t be a part of this.”
Y/n was shocked at her interaction with the goalkeeper, but shook it off as she went to take down the thing like Alyssa told her to.
-----
The group eventually stopped running. All gasping for air.
“What the hell was that thing?!” Megan made a generalization hoping someone would answer.
“It was a fucking clown, you don’t need any more knowledge to get the hell outta dodge.” Emily proclaimed.
“Okay, we need to figure this out once and for all, who has been pulling all these pranks on us that we aren’t unless someone would like to tell the group something.” Megan gave a dramatic pause.
“Okay then, we need to figure out who it is. And make them pay.”
Not even Rose put up a testament to that as they started to eliminate suspects.
-----
Y/n plopped down on the bed and let out a long sigh.
"And she's down for the count." Ash chuckled and softly plopped down on the same bed next to Y/n. She turned over to face Ash. And Ash noticed how deep in thought her kid was.
Y/n spoke before Ash could ask what was on her mind, "You know how Squirrel and Sonnett tried to make me join the dark side?"
Ash’s brows furrowed and her eyes narrowed slightly, “Yeah, why?”
“Well... I kinda did some things and now once they figure it out they might, no probably will try to get me back for it.” Y/n let out a nervous chuckle.
Ashlyn was shocked to her core, “YOU’VE been the one pulling pranks on them?!”
Y/n was still jumpy so she looked around the room as if someone had materialized and heard her secret but she looked back at Ash. It almost startled her at the look of pride and joy her team mom had, she had expected her to be at least a little upset by this.
Y/n nodded her head in response to her, very loud, question while adding, “Basically.”
Ash’s smile grew, “The yellow hair dye with Pinoe, Squirrel’s missing cleats, and the marker on Sonnett’s face?”
“More or less, those were me.” Y/n let out a small squeak as Ashlyn put her in a light headlock putting her knuckles to the kid's head, messing up her hair.
“Aaash.” Y/n tried to squirm away and was let go as she heard Ash chuckle.
While fixing her hair Ashlyn asked, “So what did you do now to get yourself in as deep a mess as you think it is.”
Y/n sighed pulling out her phone, selecting the video, and giving Ashlyn the device.
The gk had doubled over in laughter like the kid did when she pulled the prank. So much so that after the video was done she was wiping tears and trying to return her breathing back to normal.
“You’re not upset that I kinda turned to the dark side?” Y/n asked still slightly baffled.
“No, I could never be angry with you kid but...” Y/n stiffened, “We might want to keep this away from Ali. She might need a little more convincing that this is good.” Both of them chuckled and then started talking about other things, or more specifically the pranks Y/n pulled.
-----
“You don’t think it’s Ash and Ali right? Have they been getting up back for all the shit we gave then trying to take Y/n?” Mal through out the idea to the group as they walked back to the hotel.
“Nah, Kreiger tamed Harris, and they wouldn’t want to be a bad influence on their kid.” Megan was double-checking the list, making sure they didn’t overlook anyone.
“Unless...”
The group turned to their leader who currently had to pick her jaw off of the ground.
“It was Y/n.”
The misfits were taken aback by her idea but as everyone processed her words, it started to make more and more sense.
“I mean she did go to find Krashlyn when the bucket of water dropped on me a few minutes later after I opened the door to the locker room,” Emily tells the group.
“And she’s been heading off at random times too,” Rose said after she remember all the times she looked for Y/n among the team but then she didn’t find her.
“Alright troops plan to sing like a canary is now underway, let’s do this.”
“Wait what’s that plan again?”
“Emily!”
-----
Y/n and Ash froze when they heard shouting in the hallway, “Emergency meeting in Frat Daddy’s and Frat Daddy Jr’s room!”
Y/n raised her eyebrow, smiling, looking at Ash, “Lead me to the guillotine?”
The two laughed as they walked to the room while they were joined by very confused teammates.
When they entered the room, Y/n was snatched from Ashlyn’s side. The lights were off and the windows were completely shut. Y/n was forced into a chair, the door promptly shut when everyone was in the room.
And suddenly a flashlight was turned on blinding Y/n, seeing that it was pointed at her face. Y/n squinted after a groan of displeasure, putting her hand up to hopefully help her eyes recover.
She heard the voice of Mal, “Oh, sorry.” and pointed it more off to the side.
“This is an interrogation don’t apologize, Pugh,” Megan whispered yelling before clearing her throat. “You had this team fooled, wrapped around your finger, you tried to divide us.”
“All I did was steal a couple of sausages from Sonnett’s breakfast this morning, what’s the crime that? Lindsey practically stole her whole plate.” Y/n tried to play this off, not wanting her bigger secrets to be revealed.
“That was you two?!” Sonnett’s voice was shocked and then suddenly another flashlight was in Y/n face.
“Stay focused soldier. We know about you little miss perfect. Someone is a two-faced coin in this game-” Pinoe was interrupted by sounds throughout the room.
People’s phones started going off, “Dammit, I was on a role, who brought their phone in here?!”
The post had gone viral, of a very scared group of women running from a fake clown. All of the team is being tagged in it, on every social media platform.
Lucky for Y/n this conundrum made a loophole and by this time it was impossible to track who had made or posted it.
The room had burst out in laughter and soon the light was turned on by Ali, Ashlyn by her side.
“Come on kid your chariot awaits.” Y/n scurried away from the group of women interrogating her, jumping into Ashlyn’s arms and hooking onto her like a koala hugs a tree.
When Ali exited the room Ash followed but Y/n saw all the misfits were looking at them, while the rest of the group was too distracted, and she sent them a wink and a cocky smirk to match. Exiting the room with her team moms.
“Curse you Perry the Platypus!” Emily shouted, everyone still left in the room looking at her. “What?” She shrugged at all of them, confused why all of them were looking at her so weirdly.
The group just shook their heads and bid Kelley and Sonnett goodnight before heading to their own rooms.
-----
The family had made it to Ash’s and Y/n’s room, Y/n being in a very nice Krashyln cuddle as they all rested in one bed.
“Wait, there’s something I don’t get.” Ash had said causing Ali and Y/n to look at her. “Why did you post the video, I thought you wanted to keep the prank incognito, on the down low, and all that stuff.”
Y/n looked at her confused. “Hold on, I thought you posted it?” Y/n and Ash look at each other before Y/n said, “Wait a minute.”
Y/n checks her phone and started to chuckle and say, “Well, I’ll be damned.”
“Language.” Ali had a stern tone.
Making Y/n smiled innocently, “Sorry.”
“What’s so funny?” Ash pressed wanting to know what Y/n had on her phone.
“So when you asked me to send it to you, I accidentally sent it to the responsible group chat and to our family group chat.”
“Responsible group chat?” Ash questioned, she already knew about the other one it was her, Ali, and Y/n but this was the first time she was hearing about this group chat.
“Yeah like Alyssa, Becky, Ali you know people we can leave alone for 5 minutes in a foreign country and trust they won’t commit a war crime.” Y/n told Ash.
“Ah, that explains why I’m not on there.” The three chuckle at Ash’s words.
“Though it doesn’t explain who posted it.” Y/n looked at Ash again and it was almost like they had a realization both turning to Ali.
“It was too good not to share with the rest of the world and it teaches them not to mess with our kid. It was going to bite them in the butt sooner or later.”
Ali let the truth out as Y/n and Ash just felt their own smiles, as Ash felt proud to call Ali her wife, and Y/n was amazed that she got to call these women her team moms.
“Have I ever told you that you guys are my favorite people in the world?”
“Yeah, but you could stand to say it more often.” All of them laughed and Ali gave Ash a light slap on the arm, then reached for the light to turn it off.
“Goodnight kid.”
“Goodnight, Mama Bear, Goodnight, Teddy Bear. Love you guys.”
“We love you too, sweet dreams kid.” Ash softly kissed her forehead, doing the same to Ali before pecking her lips. Ali kissing Y/n on the check.
Soon after soft snoring filled the room, as all of them had gone to sleep.

New trainer (Kelley O’Hara x reader)
Summary: After being away for two years, the reader finally comes home to Kelley.
Warnings: sorry for any miss use of military terms. sorry for any mistakes written.
Thanks for reading and comments are always welcome.
“you are the reason I wake up every morning, the reason I want to come home every night. See you soon love <3” Kelley read the message for what had to be the mullioned time. (Y/N) had been overseas for the last two years and Kelley missed her every day.
They face-timed every chance they got even so, (Y/N) being in the army in another country and Kelley being on national camp. Meant those chances were few and far between.
It had been so long since they had seen each other that the other players on the team didn’t even know Kelley was dating. The only one who knew was Alex even nevertheless she knew not to mention it or Kelley’s mood would go south swift with how much she missed her girlfriend.
“heard anything new?” Kelley was pulled out of her thoughts by Alex who was sitting next to her on the bus. Alex knew how much her best friend missed the love of her life and wanted to lighten the pain in any way possible.
“no. last I heard her squat had to stay behind because the region was unstable and she didn’t know when she would be sent home. Or even when we would be talking the next time.” Kelley had to swallow hard to keep her emotions in check, not wanting the other women to see her cry and worry about her.
Luckily the bus was rowdy enough that their conversation wasn’t overheard by the other players. Sonnett was busy blasting music and pestering the others for no real reason.
The national team had a day off before the world cup camp started and they decided to go paintballing as a team bonding. Teams had been made at the hotel, if Kelley was being honest she didn’t pay attention. She was to occupied by the message she had received from you. This meant she didn’t know who was on her team.
After the bus stopped everybody got off the bus and into tactical gear very easily and were getting a safety talk before they were let onto the field to play the game. Vlatko also wanted to talk to the team before they became their competitive self.
“I know teams have been made at the hotel already but I have been informed by the staff that a special game is being prepared for you.” Hearing this caught the attention of the team.
“what special game are we talking about?” Julie asked with a critical eye. Ever the level head of the group. Vlatko was happy everybody seemed eager to at something extra to the game.
“While you guys are playing against each other one person is out hunting all of you. Even if they don’t belong to any team they can take out everybody. The person taking out this mystery person gets a special price.” The mention of a special price got everybody excited.
“How will we know that we have been shot by this mystery person and not somebody from the other team?” Ali asked, trying to keep Ash calm before the game.
“Unlike the coloured paintballs, they shoot with black paintballs.” Vlatko told them. After everybody was given guns they split up
Both teams were so immersed in defeating or upscaling the other world that they completely forgot about the mystery person playing with them. The mystery person moved around undetected as they observed the teams looking who they could take out first.
After looking around a bit they decided to go after Emily and Lindsey first. Emily was her thunderous even id she tried not to be thus easily found. As the mystery person looked at the smaller blond they could see why they worked with Kelley so well.
Emily was shot in the chest and Lindsey in the right shoulder.
Next came Ashlyn and Ali. The couple was well coordinated as they moved around, but again no match for the mystery person. Ash was hit in the stomach and while Ali was doting over her down wife she was hit in the back.
Than came Christen and Tobin, Alyssa and Becky, Mal and Teirna, Rose and Sam, Juli and Crystal, Carli and Megan.
The last two left where Kelley and Alex. Juli and Crystal informed them about this when they passed them. Kelley and Alex who were already on their guard had their senses even more heightened.
Kelley even had the feeling of being watched and could swear she heard branches break around her. Alex told her she was being paranoid. Just as the statement left her mouth she was hit in the stomach by a black paintball.
Kelly immediately dived for cover when a paintball hit a nearby tree. Gun razed the defender peered around the tree to see if she saw anything.
Not noticing the shadow creeping up behind her, hitting her once on each ass cheek. Kelley quickly turns around to catch a glimpse of the shooter but saw nobody.
After a loud horn goes off signalling the end of the game and all the girls sulk back into the changing rooms. Complaining about being taken out in the ways they were.
Everybody was groaning and being grumpy about the game when Vlatko walked in. being the only person knowing it would end like this. Knowing the identity of the mystery person. He knew they would be unhappy, he wasn’t expecting them to be pouting.
“well girls how did the game go?” it was a rhetorical question, on their faces, he could read how good it went.
“great if you look past that we all got our asses handed to us by a single person. Want that seems to be invisible.” Sonnet remarked. Vlatko could barely contain his chuckle.
“I can assure you I am anything but invisible.” A voice responded from behind Vlatko
Kelley froze at hearing the voice. It couldn’t be her. Kelley thought she was imagining things. You couldn’t be here. Vlatko talking on was what pulled her out of her trance.
“Ladies I like you to meet your new endurance trainer, sergeant (Y/N) (L/N).” Kelley flings herself at the woman when she heard her name. tears spring in Kelley’s eyes when she looks at you.
You are taller than her, with broad muscles shoulders. You are clad in camouflage gear, probably helping you stay hidden in the bushes.
“you’re here. You are here.” Kelley breaths into your shoulder as she keeps hugging you. You hug her back and kiss the side of her head. For the first time in ages, you feel home and safe.
“I’m here love and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” You tell her. It takes a moment before your words sink in but when they do. Kelley looks up at you with a massive grin on her face.
“so you don’t have to go back?”
“I’m not going back. I was honourably discharged two days ago.” The massive grin on Kelley’s face almost split her face. She kisses you passionately, a kiss you reciprocate immediately.
The happy bubble the two of you had created around you two was broken when the team swarmed the two of you. Seeing you with Kelley made them forget about the slaughter that was the paintball game.
Emily Sonnet was the first to speak being too hyped about the new person in the family.
“you know this behemoth of a woman?” the blond asked looking up at you, earning a slap on the head from Lindsey. This made you chuckle, she reminded you a lot of Kelley. Whispering so much to Kelley earning a slap on the chest from her.
“care to introduce us, Kelley?” Christen asks, trying with the rest of the veterans to rail in the youngsters of the group. Turning around with Kelley still in your arms you were met with twenty curious faces looking at you. You felled a little uneasy with all eyes on you.
Kelley felled your tattooed arms flex around her and gave them a little squeeze to reassure you.
“Guy’s I like you to meet (Y/N) my girlfriend.” The moment girlfriend left Kelley’s mouth the room seemed to explode.
“GIRLFRIEND!” the same word was yelled by over a dozen women at once. Together with.
“Why didn’t you tell us you had a girlfriend?” you were a little taken back at this, you didn’t know Kelley hadn’t told her team about your relationship. Was she ashamed of you maybe?
“Quiet!” Alex yelled, you gave her a thankful smile. Nobody seemed to want to go against that woman.
Kelley looked down at the ground when she spoke. The reason why was a deep-rooted fear of losing you.
“I didn’t tell anybody because she was overseas for two years and in those two years I didn’t even know if she was coming home or not.” Emotions suddenly overtook you. I didn’t know she had it this hard with me overseas. In all ore conversations, she never let I shiny out that it was this hard on her.
“oh, Kelley. I am so sorry I put you through that.” You turn Kelley around so she is facing you and take her chin between your fingers to gently make her look up at you. Big brown eyes look up at you, littered with unshed tears.
“you have to believe me when I tell you that every day in those two years you are the only reason I got through every shitty thing happening. You were the reason I wanted to come home.” This time you couldn’t help the little crack in your voice. The woman in your arms had a knack of turning you into a big softy.
Instead of answering Kelley pulled you into a passionate kiss that the two of you got lost in completely.
After the heavy moment passed the lighter mood returned and the girls started asking questions. Julie even threatened you, that if you ever hurt Kelley in any way she would find you and hurt you.
It must have been funny to see a soccer player not even reaching your shoulders make you take a step back.
After seeing you weren’t a complete hardass Emily saw it fit to teas.
“so (Y/N), because you are Kelley’s girlfriend those that mean you are going to go easy on us?” you couldn’t help but laugh at the bubbly blond. Not even into first training and she was already asking to slack off. Kelley was smirking knowing you crazy work out habits.
“Well…”

CATastrophe (Becky Sauerbrunn x Reader)
A/N: Hey y’all, hope you enjoyed this one I randomly wrote it a while ago. As always requests are always welcome.
Y/N shoved her hands into her pockets as she slowly walked along the sidewalk, enjoying the cool air and looking at all of the Christmas lights happily lit up on so many of the houses as she passed. It was still surreal to her that she finally got to take her dream road trip around the U.S.
She had a break from her job as an athletic trainer for Stanford University's women's soccer team before preseason started after also helping out a few WPSL teams over the summer as well. However it was still weird for her to be alone for the Holidays. Ever since she had come out things hadn’t been the same with her family.
She sighed and continued up the path toward the hiking trails. It was beautiful here in Denver but she couldn’t help but wish for something more. She was about to turn around and head back to her car when she heard a sound coming from the brush on her left.
“Hello?” she called, unsure, but she made sure to be ready to run if she needed to. She then heard a pitiful sound from a scared or injured animal.
She knew she probably wasn’t being the smartest but she stepped toward the brush slowly, hoping not to alarm the animal.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” she said in a soothing voice, parting the brush to see a dirty and travel worn cat looking up at her with scared eyes, “Aww hi little one, are you lost?” She cooed, slowly putting out her hand for the cat to sniff her hand.
The little cat must have decided she was okay because it wove closer and brushed it’s head against her leg making Y/N chuckle and scratch it's small head. Beneath the dirt and small scratches it looks like the cat was tabby with some white. Y/N took off her hoodie and wrapped the small cat in it, the cat just meowing and snuggling into the sweater.
Y/N smiled and saw that the cat was wearing a collar with a tag. However the tag was pretty cached with dry mud, so it was impossible to read at this point. "Well let's clean you up at the hotel and call your family. I'm sure they miss you." The cat purred as Y/N scratched under its chin.
Luckily it didn't take too long to make it to the car. Y/N rifled through the trunk of her car, doing a mental victory dance when she saw an old box for her boots which should be the perfect size.
She set the cat that was still all wrapped up in her hoodie, into the box. the cat merely meowed, but it seemed to sense it was safe because it curled up in the box and shut its eyes. Y/N couldn’t help but smile as she carefully shut the door to the backseat and crawled into the driver’s seat and started the car.
The 15 minute drive back to the hotel was uneventful. Y/N checked and made sure the cat was still asleep. When she saw that it was, she carefully lifted it up and found a duffle bag in her trunk, carefully setting the box with the sleeping cat in it, not zipping the top, just setting an extra jacket over part of the opening so that nobody could tell she was smuggling in a cat.
Y/N breathed a sigh of relief when nobody stopped her once she got into her room and shut the door. She carefully set the bag down and started to run the bath so that the water would warm up. she got a few towels ready and then went and grabbed the now half awake cat.
‘Meow!” The cat scolded her as she picked her up and walked toward the sound of the water. “I know little one, I know. But we have to get you and your tag all cleaned up so we can find your family. “ Y/N said softly she laughed as she swore the cat rolled it’s eyes at her.
Y/N grabbed one of the flimsy plastic cups that had been left in the room and set the cat down in the back of the tub. She filled up the cup and gently held the cat in place as she poured the warm water over the cat. “REEEEOOOOWW!” The cat screeched, slightly panicked. “Oh I know honey, I know but we need to get you nice and clean." The cat, who Y/N figured out is a girl calmed down as Y/N soothingly rubbed shampoo into her fur and then rinsed her off, making sure to pay special attention to her collar and tag.
“Missy huh, that name fits you baby girl.” Y/N said as she gently wrapped Missy in a towel and gently dried her off. Once Missy was dry enough Y/N set her so that Missy’s head was laying against her leg as she grabbed her phone and typed in the number from Missy’s collar. She hit the call button and hoped for the best, absentmindedly stroking Missy’s fur.
Kelley O’Hara sighed as she watched her roommate Becky Sauerbrunn stare into space again. Becky hadn’t been the same since her cat Missy had accidentally got out of their apartment in Salt Lake City a week before they had to leave for USWNT Camp. It would be 2 weeks ago today and they haven’t heard or seen anything.
Kelley felt terrible. She had been the one to hold the door for a second to grab the water bottle that she had dropped in the doorway as Becky waited for her in the car to leave for training. Missy was too quick for her to catch..
Their whole Royals team had helped them search for the week, as well as Ashlyn, Ali, and Alex since they had the week off before the camp but they weren’t able to find her. Becky had been even more quiet than normal and it made the whole team feel terrible. Kelley was about to try to make a joke to try to cheer Becky up again when there was a knocking at the door. Kelley sighed when Becky didn’t even look up toward the door.
Kelley opened the door and smiled sadly at her teammates. “Team bonding tonight. What would you like to do Broon?” Alex asked.
Becky just shrugged and sighed, “I’m sorry I’m bringing everyone down but Missy is my baby, and now I don’t know..” Becky sighed at the thought.
“Hey, first of all don’t apologize, we all understand, and second of all I have faith Missy is okay. We’ll help you find her,” Christen said, squeezing Becky’s arm. They decided to play a trivia game since that’s one of Becky’s favorites. Sonnet was floundering for her team of herself, Lindsey, Mal and Sam when She was saved by the bell, or the ring of Becky’s phone.
Ali grabbed it off the nightstand to hand to Becky. “It’s an unknown number.” Becky frowned but answered the phone.
“Hello?” Becky said.
“Hey, this is going to sound really weird but are you Missy’s owner? I found a cat with tabby markings and a white belly and this was the number I found on her tag.”
Becky froze. “What really?! Yes this is her! Where did you find her?!” Becky asked,a huge grin forming on her face. It shouldn’t be too far, one of her teammates could maybe pick her up after training.
“I actually found her on a trail in Denver. She’s all clean and ready to come home!”
“What all the way in Denver?!” Becky was shocked, she could barely wake the girl from a nap and she had somehow ended up hundreds of miles away?!
"Yeah, I'm guessing she had a long journey.." Y/N observed as she scratched Missy's head.
"Yeah we live in Salt Lake City. But I'm in Carson right now and I don't know if I have anyone who could get her soon…” Becky worried.
“well I’m on a road trip right now anyway, I can drive her down if that’s okay.” Becky was shocked. Thanksgiving was in a few days and a complete stranger was offering to drive her cat over 16 hours??
"Are you sure? I don't want to put you out at all." Becky said.
"Of course, it's not a problem at all. We'll leave tomorrow. Is it okay if I text you updates?"
"Of course, and I can't thank you enough! I'll text you the hotel address too! Thank you so much.." Becky trailed off.
"Y/N." Y/N finished
"Well Y/N I'm Becky and I can't thank you enough."
Y/N smiled as she could tell how much this Becky cared about Missy.
"No problem I'll see you soon Becky." Y/N said and hung up. She got a text shortly after from this Becky. After getting ready for bed Y/N chuckled as Missy curled up on her chest. Y/N decided to snap a picture so Becky could see Missy was safe and sweet as ever.
"What was that Broon did someone finally find her?!” Kelley squealed
Becky chuckled and nodded excitedly “Yes! You’ll never believe where she was found!”
“Where Becks?” Christen asked.
“Denver! I mean she is literally the laziest cat ever but she travels hundreds of miles?!””
The team cracked up “Wait if she’s in Denver how are you getting her back?” Tobin asked.
“The girl who found her, Y/N offered to drive her down here to return her.” Becky grinned, she couldn’t be more grateful.
“Damn Broon, you haven’t even met the girl and she’s already willing to drive 16hrs for you! I say go for it!” Pinoe yells, causing Kelley, Sonnett and the youngins to laugh and Christen to smack the back of Pinoe’s head as Becky blushes.
Before Becker could say anything her phone dinged with a text. Becky opened the text and nearly swooned. There was simply a picture of Missy perfectly safe snuggled up and asleep on Y’N’s chest.
Becky was so happy to finally see Missy but She couldn’t take her eyes off the most gorgeous woman she has ever seen.
Her dark hair framed her face perfectly, her hazel eyes so amazingly intriguing to Becky.
She was snapped out of it when Ashlyn let out a whistle “Damn Broon she’s hot and seems to love animals as much as you do! I second Pinoe’s idea!” Ashlyn called as Ali smacked her arm and Becky realized that the team had crowded around her phone to look when she had been staring at the picture.
“Okay leave her alone.” Alyssa spoke up, glaring at the team, causing most of them to scatter.
“Thanks.” Becky said quietly to her best friend on the team, trying to will away her blush.
“They’re not wrong though you know, she should get here right around Thanksgiving Day. Why don’t you invite her to the team Thanksgiving party/dinner. If anything you’ll get another good friend.” Alyssa said calmly, just wanting her friend to be happy.
Becky shrugged as she considered her friend’s advice, it couldn’t hurt anything.
Before she could change her mind she texted the new contact in her phone, inviting Y/N to the team’s dinner.
Y/N texted her acceptance after Becky assured her that she wouldn’t be a bother.
Becky smiled at the message, she wouldn’t admit it to anyone except for maybe Alyssa, Christen and Ali but she was excited to meet the gorgeous woman who had saved Missy. Who knows maybe this whole CATastrophe could end well after all.

First Words - (Rose Lavelle x reader)
Being one of the younger players on the team always meant that the older player and the vets were always going to be protective of you. But with me they took it to a whole other level. I joined the team the same time as Mal. But when I came onto the team everyone on the team thought I hated them.
"Why won't she talk to us?" Emily pouts as I walk over to a table with my headphones in. I guess they thought I couldn't hear them. "Has anyone actually heard her say a word since she's being here?" Kelley asks. Everyone shakes their head before they all turn to Becky who's my roommate but she just shrugs, "She's hasn't said anything to me". "She doesn't even call for the ball in practice" Pinoe sighs. Tobin shrugs, "Maybe she's just shy. I mean she's seems cool". Although I do stay near Becky and Alyssa I do drift near Tobin always finding the two of of us juggling the ball together before training.
"But what if we did something wrong?" Christen frowns. I bite the inside of my cheek as I pretend to check my phone. I never meant for them to think they did something wrong. They had been so welcoming and kind trying to involve me in their conversations or inviting me to hang out with them. They always tried to get me to talk to them and I wanted to.
It was the fact that I couldn't
I guessed I must of zoned out as I'm snapped out of it by someone sitting across from me. I look up from my plate to see Rose was now sitting across from me with a smile, "Can I ask you a question?" I just nod my head expected her to ask me the obvious question. But I'm surprised when instead she shows me her phone, "Which dog do you think is cuter?"
I look at her in shock and I guess she sees that as she frowns, "What? Please don't tell me your a cat person". I let out a snort and shake my head making her smile, "Good now which one do you think?" She asks again. I lean in front and look at her phone. The first one was Siberian husky puppy with adorable bright blue eyes. While the other was a Pembroke Welsh corgi with white and brown fur. I look over both of them for a few more seconds before pointing at the husky.
A big grin spreads across her face, "I knew it! Lindsey kept saying the corgi but just look at his little blue eyes! I mean they're both adorable but I just can't get over how blue his eyes are". She starts to ramble on about the puppy and I can't help but smile at her. She kept ranting about the blue eyed puppy which was ironic as her own blue eyes seemed to sparkle talking about the dogs.
"Y/n? You okay?" She asks making me shake my head at the thoughts. I just point at her, "Me? She asks pointing at herself. I bite my lip and grab my phone before quickly typing out a message and passing her my phone. She tilts her head at me before taking the phone. I try to ignore the spark when her fingers graze mine. Instead I chuckle at the blush on her face as she reads the message.
"Your eyes sparkle just like the husky's"
Honestly after that some of the team didn't know what to do with me. Some left me alone just happy that they hadn't done something wrong to make me feel out of place. But people like Kelley and Sonnett made it their mission to get me to talk to them.
"So who are you rooting for to win the league this year Y/n?" Sonnett asks. Kelley and Sonnett thought that if they kept asking me open ended questions that I it would force me to speak to them. I had become their latest challenge as they were determined to be the one to get me to talk.
If only they knew
"Definitely the Royals right Y/n?" Kelley grins looking at me but I just shake my head. "Who are you supporting so?" I tug on Rose's sweatshirt making her look at me only for me to point at the badge over her heart making the two frat daddies scoff, "Your cheering for the Spirit?" I nod making Rose smile beside me as Mal teases Kelley and Sonnett.
I cuddle in beside Rose as they are about to start the film and I smile widely as I feel Rose wrap her arm around me as well. As the movie ends and everyone's about to head back to their room Sonnett turns to me, "Did you like the movie Y/n?" I nod as I get up and walk over to Becky who's waiting for me by the door. But before we leave i hear Emily sigh.
"Are you ever going to talk to us?"
I freeze for a second before I continue walking not even stopping to wave goodbye to them. I can hear Becky follow me as I walk into my room and dropping onto my bed. "You okay Y/n?" The centre back asks as she looks at me with concern. I just nod lightly before looking down and playing with my fingers. I hear her sigh before she sits down beside me, "Don't listen to Kelley and Emily. They're idiots and they don't understand that not everyone is loud like them. You don't have to do anything your not comfortable with. We just want to make sure that your happy and working hard with the team okay?"
I nod and smile at her before surprising her with a hug which she returns. As she leaves for the bathroom to get ready for bed, I check my phone as the screen lights up with a message.
Are you okay?
I smile at my phone my heart lifting at the thought of the spirit midfielder worried about me. I shake my head ridding it of any thoughts of her remotely returning my feelings and send off a quick message before turning in for the night.
👍🏻
I think after that the team just accepted that's how I was. Kelley and Sonnett although they kept trying they dialed it back no doubt due to the team talking to them. It was only at my second camp that they learned the true reason behind my silence. They were shocked to say the least.
"Yes Clicker!" Tobin laughs as I nutmeg Lindsey before I continue running down the wing. I couldn't help but laugh at the nickname the team gave me. Tobin called me that after practice one day when everytime I wanted the ball I would click my fingers. After that it just stuck with the rest of the team calling me that as well.
Sonnett steps up trying to tackle the ball off of me but I keep close control of the ball and I end up putting Sonnett on her ass before crossing the ball for Christen to volley it into the net.
I grin and jog over and hug Christen before they call an end to practice with my team winning. "That was incredible Clicks!" Tobin laughs as she wraps her arms around me and Christen making the forward laugh, "That was an amazing run Y/n". I blush at their compliments before beaming up at them.
"Better look out for this one Heath. She'll be coming for your title soon" Pinoe jokes. "I hear your starting in the match against Mexico. Are your parents coming to watch?" Ali asks me. The smile on my face drops and I just shake my head. This makes the other frown as well, "Why not?" I just shrug and look down at my cleats digging them into the turf.
Kelley sensing that I was uncomfortable with the topic tries to lighten it up. "Well if you play like you did today then they don't stand a chance. I think the best part was when she put Sonnett on her ass" Kelley sniggered making everyone else laugh while Sonnett pouts. The blonde defender looks at me but I just wink at her making her wrap me in a headlock.
I squirm before I push her off my harshly as I look at her in fear. I pushed her so hard that she fell to the ground making everyone look at us. Emily looks at me bewildered as my breathing starts to get heavy as I out my hand on my neck. I close my eyes trying to calm down enough to get my breathing normal but nothing works.
Next thing I know is someone grabs my hand dragging me away. I let them pull me along wanting to be anywhere else but here at the moment. When we finally stop in the hallway to the dressing room I feel them hug me tightly guiding my head into the crook of their neck. "Hey it's okay. Everything's okay. Your safe I promise. Now I need you to breathe with me okay?" They say soothingly. I recognize her voice instantly and the smell of her perfume relaxes me slightly as I nod into her neck. Her hands rub up and down my back as she coos in my ear, "Follow my breathing. In and out. That's it. That's good Y/n".
I keep following her breathing for a bit longer before it finally goes back to normal and I sink into her embrace. She just holds me a little while longer before she pulls back just enough to look at me, "You okay Y/n?" I just nod finding comfort in her bright blue eyes. "I'm going to bring you to Dawn okay?" She asks and I just nod again.
She takes my hand again but this time walking beside me rubbing her thumb over the back of my hand reassuringly. She brings us over to the sideline where Dawn looks up at us worried, "What wrong Y/n?" I just lean into Rose laying my head on her shoulder as she explains, "Sonnett got her in a headlock and freaked her out a bit".
Dawn looks at me with pity, "I'm getting that triggered it?" I just nod making Rose look at me in concern, "Triggered what?" Before Dawn can say anything the rest of the team come over. "You okay Y/n?" Becky asks looking me up and down. I nod while Alex looks at me, "What happened?"
I sigh and look at Dawn, "Want me to tell them?" I nod and she looks at me softly, "All of it?" I gulp but nod before leaning back into Rose who wraps her arms around me.
Dawn sighs as she looks at the rest of the woman, "Y/n grew up in foster care. She never knew her parents and she was moved around a lot as a kid. She didn't have the best experience living in the system". Dawn pauses for a second before steeling herself and continuing, "In one of those homes it wasn't great. Her foster parents verbally abused her. And one night her foster father attacked her and nearly choked her to death".
Everyone is quiet as they all digest what Dawn has told them. I can feel Rose's arms hold me tighter. "Oh Y/n" Becky breathes out who looks on the verge of tears. Christen who is crying lets out a few sniffles along with some other players. "She's hasn't spoken since then and doctors says that she was so scared and traumatized by it that she developed selective mutism because of it".
Kelley frowns looking extremely guilty, "That's why you haven't talked to us. Because you can't". I just nod while Sonnett looks at me with tears streaming down her face, "I'm so sorry Y/n". Everyone is quiet no one quiet knowing what to say. That is until Rose pulls back from me taking my face in her hands, "This doesn't change anything. Your still the same person as before. This doesn't change who you are".
She looks at me so determined making sure I know she means her words that I can't help but stare back at her in awe. Only tearing my eyes away from her as Becky puts her hand in my shoulder, "She's right. We're your family now".
I start to cry as I pull the two them into a hug which leads to the rest of the team joining in. I nestle my head into Rose's neck as for the first time I finally felt at Home.
And that led them to be extremely protective of me. Whether it be from other teams, fans or the media. They wouldn't tolerate anything negative about me or my unwillingness to speak. Even after 2 years they were still extremely protective of me. They made me feel the safest I've ever felt. And as I sit in my cubbie I realise how important this team is to me.
"Hey, you okay?" Rose asks putting a hand on my leg. I look down at her hand and put my hand on hers and interlock our fingers making the both of us smile.
"I love you guys"
Everyone stops talking and instead looks in our direction looking at me I shock. But I instead just look down at our enjoined hands playing with her fingers like I usually do. "Did you....just talk?" Rose whispers out. I nod and look up to her dazzling cerulean eyes which are starting to water.
"Yeah"
"Oh my god Y/n! You just spoke!" She exclaims picking me up out of the locker and spins me around in her arms making me laugh. Everyone crowds around us as she puts me back down on the ground, "I just wanted to tell you guys how much I love you. Your like my family". Rose cups my cheeks making me smile and hold her wrists, "God I love the sound of your voice".
Not being able to hold myself back any longer I stare deep into her eyes, "Can I kiss you?" Rose lets out a watery laugh before she nods. I waste no time smashing my lips into hers and she happily returns it. As we break away the entire team cheers us on and smiling at us while I smirk down at Rose who's now breathing heavy unable to speak.
"Looks like I left you Speechless"

Love Guard. - Alex Morgan Imagine.
Prompt: Hey, could you do one where r is a lifeguard and the uswnt spends a day at the beach. Something happens to one of the players that requires r’s help. Maybe combined with flirting from Alex or kelley
A/N: When I received this prompt, I saw the same one in different blogs, so I decided to give it a spin. I hope you’re still around, anon. I know I’ve been taking forever and being MIA more than I’d like, but I didn’t forget. I have all of your prompts and I’m steadily working on them, I promise.
Any and all mistakes are mine. I hope you like it!
You’ve spent a thousand days on that beach; countless afternoons after school enjoying the water, and a handful of summers watching sunsets from the lifeguard tower. That place was your life before you moved out to college. It was your sanctuary when the world hadn’t discovered you yet and your skills were polished in the sand instead of a pitch.
Being there after so many years; days spent training with your club and summers conquering every tournament in existence with the USWNT, is quite an odd thing.
You’re not the same person you were back then; now you have Gold Medals and World Cups to speak for. And yet, you’re not so different; still in love with the sea and that piece of paradise with calm waves and water that barely gets to your waist for a hundred feet.
That beach is still somewhat private, a secret not many know and therefore, just a few people are there when you walk in.
The sand is as golden as you remember and the ocean awaits for you.
“How did you discover this place?”
You’re pulled back into the moment, your attention goes back to Pinoe as the woman waits for an answer, but the question isn’t directed at you.
“I used to come here every weekend when I was younger,” says Alex.
A beach day in L.A. was in the agenda and since Alex is home, she took on the guide role. You went along just to see what the forward had in mind, but you certainly weren’t expecting to be in a place that meant so much to you once upon a time.
You find it hilarious. You have so many memories there and yet you almost forgot about it completely. It’s a good thing they don’t know much about your past or the times you worked as a lifeguard in that very same place. You’re pretty sure someone would ask you to run in slow-motion just because they’re brats.
“This is amazing!”
You agree with Kelley and Sonnett as your group marches decidedly to what they claimed to be the best spot. What makes it the best spot? You’re not quite sure but help Ali and Christen to lay down enough towels for all your teammates.
Even then, you leave sunbathing to Rose, Carli and some others. The sea is calling you. The volleyball game that Alex and Kelley are starting in the water is too good to pass out and soon enough half of the team is ready to play, and the other half watches intently as they drink on all that vitamin D.
Someone turns up the music on a bluetooth speaker and that’s pretty much how madness begins. Pinoe is supposed to be your ref, but then Ash is shouting the score and confusing the hell out of everyone, Tobin changes teams at least three times, a ball hits Sam directly on the face and you’re laughing until your sides hurt.
At some point Ash, Alyssa and AD start tossing people into the water and you find it unfair when Franch zeroes on you as her next target. You try to fight her until Alex is behind you; holding you in place until the goalie can toss you over her shoulder.
“Traitor!” You shout to Alex before going underwater.
It’s not the first time Alex does something like that and you’re sure it won’t be the last. You blush whenever she’s around; your gay shows along with the crush you’ve tried to hide for months. But that woman drives you crazy, and maybe she knows it a bit too well.
You blame everything on her smile, on her eyes as blue as the sea around you. They shine with mischief every so often, and you know you’re in trouble the next time she smirks at you.
“Oh, no.”
“What?” She asks with the sweetest and most innocent look.
“I don’t like that face.”
“Really? You don’t like my face?”
Alex bats her eyelashes and pouts. By then, it’s obvious she knows exactly what she’s doing and she’s just playing with you. But you’re not quite sure if she’s just being playful because she knows you fancy her or if she likes you too.
Before you can argue your case, she splashes you in the face.
“You did not!” You exclaim in mock shock as you wipe your cheek. “This is war, Morgan!”
With the most ridiculous war cry you can muster; one you’re sure Xena would be proud of, you chase after her.
Alex is a good swimmer and a cheeky woman with the nerve to splash you again before squirming away. It’s easy to be part of her game even when she dares to splash you a third time.
You follow her deeper into the sea until the water is at your chest level and you can actually swim. The rest of the team is far behind you; the sound of their laughter faint and all your focus on the woman that has unknowingly won your heart.
“You’re going to pay for this,” you tell her once she’s within reach.
Your arms sneak around her waist and she struggles to find her footing for a second. With your help, Alex finds her balance and you smile sheepishly at her.
“I thought you were supposed to help me instead of trying to kill me.”
She says it as a joke; the kind of light jabs and playful banter you’re used to, but there’s something about the way Alex says those words that make your heart stop for a second. Alex still has that same mischievous look while you become a deer caught in the headlights.
“What?” You ask dumbfounded.
“You know,” Alex starts while her harms wrap around your neck. “There was a reason why I came to this place as often as possible.”
All the clues are tight there. The pieces of the puzzle are there for you to pick, and yet, you can’t really think straight when Alex is so close. You blame it on her eyes and how blue they are with the ocean all around you. Or maybe it’s the softness of her sun-kissed skin as she pulls you closer.
Whatever the case, you barely register that she’s talking to you.
“There was this one lifeguard,” she continues. “The cutest girl I’ve ever seen. I remember stealing glances here and there, but she was always too busy taking care of the shore. She would help anyone that asked for it. It’s just...I never had the courage to talk to her.”
“Why not?”
To you, Alex Morgan is the most confident woman in the world. In and out of the field, she radiates confidence. It’s one of the many reasons that make her a team captain. You can’t think of any circumstance where she´d shy away from something or someone.
“I’m not sure. I was embarrassed for having a crush on her. But to be honest, I think I fell a bit in love with her back then.”
“Just a bit?”
“Yes. Then another bit years later when she walked into the room as the newest member of the National Team. And maybe a little bit more every day since then.”
You remember your youth and the passion you had for the sea. You remember the lifeguard tower and everyone in there; all boys except for you. They became your family, and leaving them behind for college was hard. Still, it was the right decision.
It was in college that you found a new passion.
You discovered your speed and the mean way you could kick a ball. Talent, your coach called it, but you worked day and night to develop skills. And ultimately, those were the ones that got you into the USWNT.
Life works in funny ways.
You’re back at the start; in the same beach, with the same blue eyes following your every move. But now you have a World Cup championship under your belt, and maybe enough confidence to be with the girl of your dreams.
“Hi, I’m Y/n. I’m a Lifeguard, don’t fret. I’m here to help.”
A flash of confusion crosses Alex’s face for only a second before she understands exactly what you’re doing. She chuckles at your antics but is willing to play your game.
“Yes, please. I swam all the way here and now I can’t get back. I’m a little out of breath.”
“Is that so?”
This whole thing is silly, but the kind of silly that will make you look back with a fond smile. You have trouble trying not to laugh as you speak, but hey, Alex can’t blame you when she’s fighting her own laughter.
“We should take you back to the shore then.”
“I had a different idea,” she intercedes.
You have half a second to react before she cups your face and her lips meet yours.
It’s impossible to fight the smile off even when she’s kissing you. It’s the perfect kiss; soft, gentle and yet enough to surpass every dream you’ve ever had of this moment.
You never saw Alex on that beach; too high on the freedom the water gave you to notice anything else. Even when you were focused on the job, you were trained to pay attention to the signs of drowning and not the faces, so you barely remembered anyone.
But you saw Alex when you joined the National Team. You saw her from the moment you entered the soccer world, and maybe you also fell a bit in love with her from that day.
“Should we go back?” You ask when you finally break apart.
“Guess we have to deal with the team now.”
“So it seems.”
It doesn’t matter if Alex is a great swimmer, you use your training to guide her closer to the shore until the water is only at waist level. Instead of letting her go, you carry her bridal style to the safety of the sandy beach.
“Now you’re safe.”
“Are you sure?” She asks clingling a bit tighter to you.
“What else do you want from me, woman?”
“Another kiss.”
That’s a request you’re all too happy to comply with.
You see Alex as she truly is; beautiful and strong, resilient, capable to make the world kneel at her feet. She’s an extraordinary human being, and you love every bit of her.

Loving Her: Alex Morgan- Chapter 2
The Calm Before the Storm
(Y/N) POV:
“Wake up!” I rubbed my eyes as I turned to see Christen giving me an annoyed look. I scowled at the forward as she gave me another shove when I tried to lay my head down. “I am not going to tell you again.”
“I’m awake” I said as I stretched a little bit. “When do we land?”
“10 minutes” she said looking at the book in her hand. I nodded my head as I leaned back in my seat.
Today was the first day of Pre-World Cup Camp. We had all sorts of fun things to do now that most of America was catching onto the WC hype. We would do the send-off series while also doing media for the WC. I knew we had a huge media coming up after our send-off games.
I was currently flying into camp with Christen, Kelley, and Becky. It was less than a 2-hour flight which was short considering how close Utah is to California. I was exhausted from packing all night though.
“I told you to pack earlier.” Christen said as I turned to glare at the older girl. “You probably wouldn’t be so tired now. Also, with those sunglasses you look hungover.”
“I feel hungover. I probably shouldn’t have slept on this flight.” I gave a small smile as she nodded her head at me.
She then closed her book and moved to start getting her things ready for when we landed. I made sure all my stuff was put together and that I could just stand and go. I turned my head to look behind me and saw Becky and Kelley talking. Usually, my bus buddy is Becky, but I ended up with the seat next to Christen which was fine.
“(Y/N)” I turned to look at the California Native. She raised her eyebrows at me, and I stared at her in confusion. She motioned to the tray in front of me which I put up abruptly. She let out a little laugh.
Once we landed, the four of us made our way to collect our bags and head for the hotel. Once we got there, I found out I was rooming with Alex which immediately put a smile on my face.
“I don’t understand. You’re so excited to see her….you literally just saw her when we played the Pride.” Kelley had an exasperated look on her face as I just grinned. I walked away from her heading towards the elevators. I got to my floor, found my room, and walked in. I sat my stuff on the bed noticing Alex’s stuff around the room. Before I could do anything else, I felt arms wrap around my neck. I turned and wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her in for a hug.
“Hi” it came out muffled due to her face being in my neck.
“Hello” I said as I let her go. She gave me a big smile which caused my smile to widen.
“I was really excited when I saw that we were rooming together.” I nodded my head agreeing with her. She moved to pull my sunglasses off my face and then put them on herself as she turned to look in the mirror. I turned to move my bag off the bed. “I might keep these. They look amazing on me.”
“They do.” I said agreeing with her as I laid down on the bed. “You can’t keep them though. Those are my favorite pair.”
“Are you okay?” she asked as she came over to sit next to me. “You look exhausted.”
“I was up late packing or being irresponsible if you ask Christen.”
“Waiting to the last second to pack is irresponsible.” She stood back up and walked back to the mirror fixing her hair.
“Come on…not you too. I can handle being scolded once and I would prefer being scolded by her than by you. Hurts a little less. When did you pack?” she gave me a sheepish smile and then mumbled her answer. “What was that?”
“Yesterday.” I stared at her for a minute before letting out laugh. “Stop laughing. It wasn’t even funny.”
“No, it’s hilarious that you think you can scold me when you literally did the same thing. I just waited until nighttime to pack.”
“I was probably done packing before you though.” She said as I sat up staring at her with a look of disbelief.
“We are on the same level of irresponsible though.” She turned and walked towards me. I gulped slightly when she stood right in front of me still wearing my sunglasses so I couldn’t see her eyes. She took them off and placed them back on my face. She patted my cheek turning and walking over to her side of the room. I let out a breath and went to the bathroom trying to hide the fact that I was blushing.
I heard the door open and then heard the voices of Allie and Kelley. I groaned a little at the fact that I wasn’t alone with Alex anymore. I walked out of the bathroom and stared at the girls as they both turned towards me.
“Didn’t Christen tell you to take those off? They make you look hungover.” I rolled my eyes and then turned towards Alex who had an amused look on her face.
“You do look hungover.” Allie said as Alex nodded along with both girls. I rolled my eyes again at the statement from the midfielder. I don’t understand why everyone’s go to statement for me is that I look hungover.
“You’re all a bunch of dicks.” I said as I turned towards my bag to grab my training clothes. We were heading straight to training after everyone arrived and so I wanted to be ready to go. “I look awesome.”
I took the glasses off and headed back towards the bathroom to change. When I came out, all three girls were whispering. Alex had a serious look on her face as she listened to whatever Allie and Kelley were saying. She looked at me and gave me a smile. I felt awkward as I stared at them for a moment. I felt like I just got caught eavesdropping even though I didn’t even hear what they were saying.
“You finally look put together.” She teased which caused the other two to look at me. Allie had a panicked look on her face as Kelley just gave me a smile. I furrowed my eyebrows a little and then picked up my sunglasses and placed them back on. I didn’t like the whispering and panicked looks going on because it made me feel like they were talking about me.
“Do you know if JJ is here?” I asked as all three shrugged their shoulders. “I’ll just text her.”
I turned and exited the room heading to find JJ. I sent her a text really quick and grinned when she sent me back a text with her room number. Once I found her room, I knocked on the door. The door opened to reveal Christen who rolled her eyes at seeing me. I grinned at the forward entering the room and taking the seat at the desk that was in the room. JJ grinned upon seeing me.
“Hey!” she said with enthusiasm causing me to grin in response. “Chris said you were rooming with Alex. Why are you here?”
“Allie and Kelley are there and they were all whispering about something so I figured I would give them the room.”
“They were probably talking about you.” Christen joked causing me to shake my head. “I’m kidding.”
“I really genuinely feel like I can’t have one conversation with anyone without that being brought up.”
“It’s because we all want you to be happy and we know you guys would be happy together.” Julie said giving me a supportive smile. I shrugged my shoulders sinking in the chair a little. “We won’t bring it up again.”
I waited for both girls to get changed into their training clothes. Once they were done, we all headed down to the lobby to wait to hear for the time we were going to train. More people started making their way down to the lobby until about half the team was there. I was looking at my phone when I felt someone sit on the arm of the chair that I was sitting in. I looked up and saw Alex smiling at me. I moved over so she could sit down in the chair too. She fell into it and looped our arms so she could rest her head down on my shoulder.
“What are you doing?” she whispered.
“Nothing. Scrolling through twitter. What are you doing?”
“Watching you scroll through twitter.” I chuckled at her a little and then in a move I felt to be too bold. I moved my arm so that it was around her so that she was leaning completely on my side. She didn’t say anything, but she did smile. We sat there for another few minutes before we had to get up to go train.
The rest of the day seemed to fly by until it was time to go to dinner. Crystal and all the girls were all excited because they found some restaurant that had a whole dance floor that you could dance on while you waited. I wasn’t that excited but since all my friends are going then I had to go too.
“This is exciting” JJ said as we entered the restaurant and found a table that was big enough for all of us. I was sat next to Alex and Becky which wasn’t a bad spot to be in. I glanced around and noticed some of the people dancing. It looked like mostly couples which was cute.
“Are you going to dance?” Alex asked me with a half-amused look on her face.
“Probably not.” I said turning to smile at the forward. I heard groans around the table as Sonnett threw a napkin at me.
“You’re such a buzzkill.” She said shaking her head. “Live a little”
“I don’t like dancing.” I said shrugging my shoulders. “I have always been bad at it.”
The waitress soon came and took all our orders. We all sat for a few minutes just talking when the song that was playing changed.
“Ohh this is my song” crystal said standing up and dragging some of the other girls with her. I watched in amusement as they danced and sang together.
“You should go dance with them” Becky said as I shook my head.
“There is not enough money in the world that would get me to go dance.”
Eventually, they all came back and sat down when our food arrived. The conversations continued as we ate our food. As dinner was winding down, I was talking mostly with Alex who found my avoidance of getting out of my seat completely amusing.
“For a professional athlete, you really are lazy.” She said with a grin on her face.
“You’re just as lazy as I am. You made me get up and hand you remote when it was five feet away.”
“That is not true.” She said slapping my arm. “Come on. I want to dance.”
She stood up and grabbed my arm trying to pull me up. I groaned and sank into my seat resisting her hold.
“No. I told you I don’t like dancing.” She gave me a pout and slipped her hand into mine. I closed my eyes trying to resist how fucking adorable she looked.
“Please (Y/N)” she said tugging on my arm. I sighed and stood up letting her drag me to the dance floor. I heard a few snickers behind me and turned and gave them all the middle finger. We got to the dance floor and Alex pulled me closer.
“I don’t know how to dance.” I joked as the forward laughed. She placed my arm around her waist and rested her arm on my shoulder. She brought our hands together and we started swaying to the beat.
“Follow my lead.” She said as she continued to move us around. “You got this.”
I ignored her as I tried to take the lead. I was trying to remember every dance video that I have ever seen someone dance like this. She grinned when I stumbled just a little and let out a laugh when I started blushing.
“You need to work on it. I need you to know how to do this for if we ever get married.” I starred at the forward in shock, but immediately recovered.
“You mean when we get married.” I said putting emphasis on ‘when’. She grinned at me as I twirled her around. She came back with her arm around my neck tightly. I stared at her a moment feeling my breathe get caught in my throat. All it would take is for one of us to lean forward. I stared in her eyes before I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned to see Crystal giving me somewhat of an apologetic look.
“We are heading out. It is getting late and we need to get back to the hotel.” I nodded my head I pulled away from Alex who had a conflicted look on her face. She looked pretty lost in thought as I intertwined our fingers and pulled her back towards where everyone was grabbing their stuff.
The ride back to the hotel was silent from the both of us. We didn’t say a word as we made our way back to our hotel room and got changed for bed. I was lying in bed on my phone when Alex came out of the bathroom drying her hair. She was in pajamas and she looked cute as hell. She came and sat on my bed giving me a look.
“Can I ask you something?” I stared at her for a moment before nodding. “Have you ever been in love?”
I stared at her with wide eyes. I was thankful that I wasn’t drinking or eating because I could’ve spit it out. I felt like a deer in headlights. I opened and closed my mouth a couple times trying to figure out how to respond. I settled on just nodding my head yes not trusting my voice at all.
“I used to think that Servando was it for me…” she pulled her knees to her chest. I immediately placed my phone down and sat up giving her my full attention. “I mean we were together for almost ten years and he cheated on me without a second thought.”
“He was an idiot.” I said giving her a serious look. “Only an idiot would hurt you like that.”
“Okay but like…I was with him for ten years and he cheated. How could I possibly expect someone else to do that? How could I trust that someone else isn’t going to hurt me like that?”
I sat there trying to form a logical sentence. She had a point. What do you do when someone who swore to love you forever breaks your heart and doesn’t even feel sorry for it?
“Not everyone is as shitty as him. Not everyone is out to hurt you or make you feel guilty about living your life like him. You’re going to meet someone and fall in love with them and they are going to love you the way you deserve.” I could love you the way you deserve. She nodded her head, but her eyes welled up with tears. I moved to pull her in my arms and hugged her for a few minutes. “I promise you will get your happy ending Alex.”
She pulled away from the hug and stared at me. For the second time in one night, our faces were inches from each other. She glanced at my lips and it would be so easy to lean forward and kiss her. I took a breath and then pulled back from her and leaned against the headboard. She was vulnerable so it wouldn’t be right for me to make a move when she isn’t in the right state of mind.
“We should get to bed” I said as she nodded. She stood and went to her bed. We turned out the lights and both went to bed. I don’t know how much sleep I would be getting when you consider that I almost kissed Alex Morgan twice in one night. Holy shit. I almost kissed Alex. Twice. She looked like she wanted to kiss me. I am so fucked.

Love on the brain (Part 18)
Hey guys, enjoy the new chapter! :)
The chapter is also up on Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/17576201/chapters/47472769
I also posted a one shot about Kellex after the World Cup that isn't related to this story, so check that out if you like. (On Ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20046619 / on Tumblr: https://uswntpoet.tumblr.com/post/186664113849/one-day-kellex-one-shot)
The next morning Alex wakes up to light kisses being pressed to her jaw.
“Mhm, can I get woken up like this every morning, please?” Alex rasps tiredly.
“Impossible.” Kelley says, wandering to Alex’s cheek.
“Why not though?”
“Because we don’t life together during the season and if somebody other than me would dare to wake you like this, I would punch all of their teeth out.” Kelley reasons in between kisses.
Alex opens her eyes to look at Kelley amused, who is leaning over her.
“Oh boy, a sentence I never imagined to hear at-“ Alex starts turning her head to look at the clock on the nightstand.
“It’s 8 am.” Kelley grins.
“At 8 am then.”
“What can I say, I always know what to say to keep things spicy.” Kelley rasps, leaning down to bite Alex’s earlobe lightly.
“Well, good morning to you too.” Alex laughs, putting her hand in Kelley’s hair.
“I can make your morning even better, baby.” Kelley purrs into Alex’s ear.
Alex turns her head to look at Kelley with an entertained, yet bemused smile. Kelley raises her eyebrow suggestively in return. She then leans down and starts leaving open mouthed kisses on Alex’s neck.
“What has gotten into you?” Alex breathes with a chuckle.
“What does it look like?”
“Like you’ve had a dirty dream.”
Kelley stops and pulls away.
“Or maybe I didn’t, but instead woke up, looked to my right, saw this bombshell woman lying in my bed and then had some dirty thoughts.” she grins at Alex irresistibly.
“It’s too early for this, O’Hara. Would you mind being sexy later in the day?” Alex groans, closing her eyes again to block out Kelley looking unbelievably attractive.
“And? I’m living with the fact that you’re the most gorgeous woman on the planet 24/7 and it’s not like I’m complaining.”
Alex opens her eyes again, “You’re cute,-”
“-but you’re also a sweet talker.”
Kelley thinks about it for a moment and then shrugs in response, giving Alex an agreeing nod, making her laugh.
“Good morning, gorgeous.” Kelley smiles softly, leaning in for a kiss.
Alex grips Kelley’s nape, prolonging the kiss subtly.
“Morning, love.” Alex smiles back when they part.
Kelley lingers over Alex’s lips, breathing hot air against them, switching her gaze between her eyes and her lips. Alex watches Kelley closely, feeling herself fall into the ban that are Kelley’s eyes and she quickly shakes out of it.
“Uh-uh. I know what you’re doing and it’s not working.” Alex says, pushing Kelley’s face away from her with her flat hand.
Kelley falls flat on her back, landing on the mattress and starts laughing, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“‘I can make your morning even better, baby’?! Yeah, right.” Alex mocks Kelley’s voice, followed by a snort, her voice having a knowing tone.
“Is that supposed to be my voice?” Kelley chuckles.
“What did you think? That I was going to rip off my clothes and kiss you?”
Kelley bursts out into even louder laughter.
“I mean, it looked like it a lot for a second.” Kelley smirks cockily.
Alex flicks Kelley against her arm.
“Ow.” Kelley laughs.
“You wish! Don’t think I forgot about our bet. I’m not giving in to your cheap tricks today.”
“Cheap??” Kelley exclaims, mocking offense, “That’s rude. They are anything but cheap.” she laughs.
“Cheap or not, I’m not going to fall for them and at the end of the day, you’re going to have to beg for me to kiss you.”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t be so sure about that.” Kelley says, standing up to grab her phone.
There is silence in the room while Kelley stands in front of the bed, checking her phone. Something about her calmness is agitating Alex and she can’t help but to inquire.
“Why shouldn’t I be?” Alex asks hesitant.
Kelley slowly takes her eyes off her phone and lays it back down on the nightstand. She then crawls on the bed again, leaning over Alex until she can whisper in her ear.
“Don’t forget that you once fell for every single of my ‘cheap’ tricks to make you kiss me. Every. Single. One.” she rasps.
She then pulls away, winking at Alex and pecks her lips swiftly before standing up and leaving the room.
“Dibs on the shower!” Kelley calls over her shoulder, already closing the door to the bathroom.
Alex just lies on the bed speechlessly, listening to Kelley happily whistling along to the music she started playing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Alex’s luck Kelley takes off to a treatment when Alex enters the bathroom to get ready. At least there won’t be any tricks for the next hour or so Alex thinks when she steps under the hot stream of the shower. She closes her eyes and the water starts relaxing her tired muscles from the rough game the night before. What Alex doesn’t expect is somebody opening the shower door.
“Forgot to ask-“
Alex lets out an earsplittingly loud scream.
“Babe stop screaming, it’s just me. See that’s why I always knock. Anyway, what’s the price for winning the bet?” Kelley rambles unfazed.
“OH MY GOD! KELLEY!!!!” Alex yells startled.
“Sorry.”
“Well, fuck me.” Alex breathes out, trying to calm down.
“Sure, sounds fair.” Kelley shrugs.
“Wha-“
“And if I win, you’ll have to grant me one wish.”
“Wait, that wasn’t what I meant, I-“
“Shit, I’m late! I have to run, I’ll text you later, bye babe.” Kelley rambles, slamming the door closed and leaving the room.
Milliseconds later the bathroom door opens once more and Kelley walks towards the shower, opening the glass door again. Alex looks at her confused and Kelley leans in, gently placing a tender kiss on Alex’s lips. Even though she rushed out before, now it seems as if she has all the time in the world, the kiss lasting quite a few seconds. When Kelley pulls away, Alex opens her eyes and looks at her surprised. Water is dripping down Kelley’s face, some parts of her hair wet. She smiles at Alex softly, her eyes radiating tranquility and love.
“I love you.” she finally whispers.
Alex desperately fights the urge to go in for another kiss because of the way Kelley looks at her, the whole situation making her heart jump. Ultimately, she can’t help but to lean in out of utter awe. However, instead of taking the victory, Kelley pulls her head back, leaving Alex looking at her astonished and questioningly yet again. Kelley stares at Alex for a few seconds without saying a word, but her eyes are telling what Alex already knew by the way Kelley kissed her. This wasn’t a trick to win the bet, it was simply saying ‘I love you’.
“You’re crazy, O’Hara.” Alex says, shaking her head.
She reaches for her towel that is hanging over the shower door and softly dries off Kelley’s face while she’s stroking the thumb of her other hand across her cheek.
“I love you more.” Alex then whispers.
Kelley smiles contently and pulls her head out of the shower, rushing out of the bathroom.
“This woman will be the death of me.” Alex says to herself, staring into space.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Alex finishes getting ready, she makes her way to the breakfast room. The room is filled with loud chatting and laughter, everybody happy about the win and the relaxing morning. After filling her plate, Alex takes a seat next to Kelley who is goofing off with Allie, Tobin, Ashlyn and Crystal about some dance Sonnett showed them.
“Morning, guys.” Alex says.
“Hey, Al.” they chuckle, recovering from something Kelley said.
“You want water?” Kelley asks, holding up a bottle.
“Yeah, thanks.”
Kelley pours some water into a glass and holds it out to Alex. However, when she reaches to take it, Kelley pulls it away slightly, looking at her with a grin.
“What?”
“Can I get a kiss?”
“Absolutely not.” Alex rolls her eyes, making Kelley laugh.
“It was worth a try.” Kelley grins, handing the glass to Alex.
“That was your worst attempt yet.”
Kelley leans over and kisses Alex on the cheek gently. She then leans back in her chair, spreading her legs to put one foot on her knee and puts her arm around the back of Alex’s chair.
“What’s up with you two again?” Allie asks.
“Kelley is being a little shit.”, “Alex is losing a bet.” they say at the same time.
“I’m not losing.”
“Sure.”
“What kind of bet?” Ashlyn asks.
“Miss Morgan thinks she can last a day without kissing me.”
“I can.”
“We’ll see.”
Ashlyn, Tobin and Crystal start laughing.
“I swear, one day you’ll win some sort of award for the most competitive couple, Jesus…” Allie chuckles.
“Don’t give her bad ideas.” Kelley warns Allie, pointing to Alex.
“Babe?” Alex asks sweetly, rubbing Kelley’s neck.
“Yeah?” she smiles.
“Shut up.” Alex deadpans, pinching her in the neck, causing the others to burst into laughter.
“Hey!” Kelley pouts and Alex shrugs.
“I’ll get some fruit, does anybody want some as well?” Kelley asks, standing up.
“Banana!” Crystal exclaims, raising her hand.
“Me, too.” Ashlyn agrees.
“Can you get me an apple?” Tobin asks.
“Sure.”
“Thanks, bro.”
Kelley looks at Allie who shakes her head.
“Babe?”
“Thanks, I’m good.” Alex smiles.
When Kelley returns to the table, she passes everyone their fruit, but remains standing. She leans down to whisper into Alex’s ear.
“My mom tried calling. I think she’s worried because of the Chapman situation. I’ll call her back and wait for you upstairs, okay?”
Alex turns around and gives Kelley an empathic look, running her hand up and down Kelley’s arm supportively.
“Yeah, of course. Tell her I said Hi.”
“I will.” Kelley smiles tightly.
Alex takes Kelley’s hand into her own, squeezing it.
“Don’t overthink it.”
“I won’t.”
“Okay.” Alex smiles softly, her smile immediately making Kelley feel at ease.
Kelley furrows her brows, coming closer to her face, “You don’t smell like you usually do.”
“Oh, yeah. I accidentally bought this strawberry Chapstick instead of the classic one.” Alex chuckles.
“Can I try it?”
“Sure.” Alex says, pulling it out of her pocket.
Kelley takes the stick from Alex, but instead of applying it to her lips, she kisses Alex shamelessly. When she pulls away, she throws the stick up so that it flips in the air and catches it, only to put it back into Alex’s hand.
“Thanks.” she winks, wiping the corner of her mouth with her thumb and leaves.
Alex looks after Kelley, her jaw agape. She turns to look at the others who mirror her facial expression while Tobin whistles impressed.
“Did you see that or am I hallucinating?” Alex asks.
“No, I’m afraid this really happened.” Allie laughs in disbelieve.
“What a freaking show-off!” Sonnett leans into the conversation, laughing loudly.
“God, Kelley is just on top of the mother fucking game. We’re all amateurs.” Ashlyn says admiring.
“Meow, KO is bad.” Crystal jokes.
“For real though, that was fucking smooth. I’m impressed by Wormy.” Allie says.
“How can you even deal with that?” Crystal asks.
“I can’t.”
“You stand no chance.” Allie laughs.
“Yeah, sis you’re so gonna lose.” Ashlyn chuckles.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When breakfast is over, Alex opens the door to their shared room quietly, checking if Kelley is still talking to her mother. Instead Kelley is already shifting through their room to get ready for a lifting session. Alex sits down on their bed, watching Kelley pack her stuff.
“What did she say?” Alex asks tensely, biting her lip.
“She yelled at me.”
“Oh baby, I’m sorry.” Alex sympathizes, looking at Kelley worriedly.
Kelley stops packing her bag to look at Alex.
“Yeah, she yelled at me, because she thought I should have knocked her out after she fouled you like that.”
“She what????” Alex exclaims, her eyes going wide.
“I mean I told her I meant to. But you guys had to spoil the fun part.” Kelley says seriously, a little bit of annoyance to her tone.
“Kel…” Alex warns, shaking her head.
“Yeah, no really. I would have punched her into another century.”
“Yeah, no and you REALLY wouldn’t have been allowed to play soccer for the rest of the century.” Alex counters.
“Would have been worth it.” Kelley grumbles, starting to pack her bag again.
“You really mean that, don’t you?” Alex asks, eying Kelley intently.
“Of course, I do. Even my own mom wanted me to take her out and she has a point. I think I’ll have to reconsider the truce.” Kelley says honestly with her back turned to Alex.
Alex walks over to her and hugs her from behind, nuzzling her face in Kelley’s neck. Kelley blindly reaches behind her, putting her hands in the back pockets of Alex’s jeans.
“Could you do something really immoral for me and not listen to your mom?” Alex asks with a cute voice that works on Kelley every time.
“Not listen to my mom?! Alex Morgan, are you asking me to commit a sin?” Kelley gasps, feigning a shocked voice.
Alex grins to herself, knowing that her trick worked immediately.
“I mean, it’s not like that concept is new to you.” Alex mumbles into her neck suggestively.
“I’m the most well-behaved person ever, princess.” Kelley says innocently.
“Yeah, I know honey, that’s also why your hands are grabbing my ass right now.” Alex deadpans.
“Nobody is perfect.” Kelley cheeses.
“Behave yourself a little bit more, tiger, no matter what your mom says and pretty, pretty please just forget what happened yesterday.” Alex suggests sweetly, pouting just the slightest bit.
When Alex looks up at Kelley, she has to hide her grin, knowing just by looking at her facial expression that she has won and it was a piece of cake. While Kelley often is rather tough on the outside, it is true that Alex can crack her shell with just a snap of her fingers. She just always had a soft spot for Alex and now Alex watches her walls crumble in pure bliss.
“Well, alright. I’ll just leave it.” Kelley exhales.
“You’re the best.” Alex smiles sweetly, patting Kelley’s abs.
“Yeah, yeah I know.” Kelley plays it down, pretending to not want that kind of compliment, but Alex knows for a matter of fact that Kelley loves when Alex says something like this to her.
“If I was allowed to kiss you, I’d do that right now.”
“You’re allowed to, I give you the permission. In fact, it is strongly suggested and highly recommended.” Kelley flirts, turning her head to look at Alex and puckering her lips.
Alex comes really close to Kelley, leaning in. Her eyes are fixated on Kelley’s lips, breathing hot air against them. Alex’s eyes dart up, giving Kelley bedroom eyes and all Kelley can think about is how hot Alex looks right now. She is fighting a smirk, thinking that Alex can’t resist anymore.
“Nope. Nice try.” Alex winks, letting go of Kelley.
“Did you really just do that?” Kelley asks annoyed.
“Eat your heart out, baby.” Alex smirks.
Kelley rolls her eyes at that.
“This bet is so stupid.”
“You were the one who insinuated it.” Alex calls over her shoulder when she walks into the bathroom.
“The lies.”
Alex pops her head out from the bathroom.
“‘I swear you couldn’t live a day without kissing me.’” Alex mocks with a dumb voice.
“Oh my god.” Kelley shakes her head, chuckling at Alex’s impersonation.
“Now you’re going to lose O’Hara.” Alex grins confidently.
“What is it with you and impersonations today?”
“Can’t wait to impersonate the look on your face when you lose.”
Because she is quickly disappearing into the bathroom again, she doesn’t catch the smirk on Kelley’s face.
“Oh, you wanna play? So be it.” Kelley whispers to herself.
“Al, meeting up before training?”
“Yes, I’ll be waiting.”
Kelley grabs her bag, texts Tobin and leaves for her gym session.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the rest of the morning and noon, Kelley isn’t anywhere to be found and Alex also doesn’t hear a word from her. Usually Kelley sends her a quick text if she’s not returning to the hotel room and instead just heads directly to a meeting or training. However, today Alex never gets the usual text before their training session in the afternoon. So instead she just texts Kelley.
Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:32 pm]: Are you still coming?
Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:47 pm]: I’m leaving in 3. Should I wait for you?
Missed call from Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:50 pm]
Missed call from Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:52 pm]
Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:53 pm]: Are you okay? :(
Missed call from Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:55 pm]
Alex ❤️ 👑 [15:56 pm]: Kel? I’m still waiting!
Standing in front of the hotel, Alex turns around one more time, looking for Kelley before climbing into one of the vans that will take them to training. Alex impatiently types another text, looking at the time.
Alex ❤️ 👑 [16:03 pm]: Where are you???
Kel 🐯❤️: Read [16:04 pm]
Alex ❤️ 👑 [16:07 pm]: Did you just leave me on read?!
Alex ❤️ 👑 [16:07 pm]: I swear, you are in so much trouble.
When she still gets no response, she wonders if something may have happened since it’s very unlike Kelley to read the text and not text back and it’s even more unlike her to forget that they wanted to meet up. When her van arrives at the pitch, Alex spots a very happy and unscathed Kelley, who is already passing balls with Tobin and Lindsey, laughing loudly. Alex walks up to her, blocking her way.
“Hey, babe.” Kelley smiles brightly.
“Why didn’t you text me?” Alex asks irritated.
“What?”
“I texted you several times.”
“Oh, right the texts!! I guess I forgot.” Kelley shrugs with a smile.
Something about Kelley’s smile is rubbing her the wrong way and she can’t help but to feel her temper starting to show.
“What do you mean you forgot? Kelley, I waited for you. I even called you.” Alex snaps.
“Calm down, I just forgot.” Kelley says distractedly, still wearing this damn smile while walking past her, calling Lindsey for the ball.
“What the actual fuck?” Alex asks herself perplexed, looking after Kelley.
She then walks towards the bench, sitting down next to Allie who is tying her cleats. She watches Kelley closely, who isn’t looking back at her once, even though she normally always sneaks glances.
“Kelley is acting weird.”
“When is she not?”
Alex rolls her eyes at Allie.
“Just kidding! Don’t kill me. What did she do?”
“She made me wait and didn’t respond to my texts and now when I confronted her, she didn’t really show any reaction.”
“Aren’t you overreacting a little bit?” Allie asks carefully.
“You should have seen her stupid smile. Kelley is a lot of things, but she not forgetful, not when it comes to things like this.”
“Don’t worry, Al. I bet she’s back to normal after training at the very latest.”
“Yeah, probably.” Alex smiles tightly.
As it turns out Kelley is not back to normal after training. In fact, she completely ignored Alex during the whole session while every single player on the team seemed to take a particular liking in Kelley today. Allie is the only one sticking to Alex’s side all training, trying to keep her calm. Meanwhile, everyone wants to be Kelley’s training partner, everyone is cheering for her, touching her and everyone gets to laugh with her, except for Alex. To top it all, Kelley leaves immediately after training, walking to a van with Sonnett, Sam, Mal, Abby, Lindsey and Rose, doing some stupid dance moves. Alex starts getting really worked up about Kelley’s untypical behavior and apparently she can’t hide it.
“Woah, Alex what’s the matter with you?” Tobin chuckles.
“What?” Alex snaps.
“Uhm…you look angry.” Tobin laughs uneasily.
“I’m not!” Alex answers defensively.
Tobin looks at her skeptically, “Ehh…okay?”
“Don’t mind her Harry. Trouble in paradise.” Allie excuses Alex.
“Wait. You and Kelley have beef?” Tobin asks surprised.
Alex lets out a deep breath, “Yeah…I mean no. I don’t know, she’s acting out of character.”
“Weird…” Tobin mumbles.
“Why?”
“Earlier we had gym session together and she acted totally normal. Actually, I haven’t seen her in such a great mood for a long time.” Tobin smiles before grabbing her phone.
“See Al, maybe you’re just misinterpreting, right Harry?”
Tobin nods lightly, preoccupied with texting and Alex rolls her eyes, knowing that she didn’t even listen to a word Allie said.
“Maybe.” Alex says absentmindedly, being even more concerned now.
“Chop-chop ladies, dinner isn’t waiting forever.” a staff member calls them from the exit.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the ‘team-only’ dinner at their hotel the drama takes its course. Kelley is not sitting with Allie and Alex, but instead has dinner with Megan, Christen, Alyssa, Becky and Julie. Tobin seemed to be right, Kelley is in a fantastic mood, but while Kelley’s laugh fills the dining room, Alex’s mood is weighting her down as her jealousy grows with every second Kelley is having fun with anyone else. Alex’s patience only lasts until dessert. That’s when she stands up and walks towards Kelley. When Kelley notices somebody standing right behind her, she turns around to see a very pissed off Alex, staring her down.
“Hallway. Now.”
That’s all that Alex says, before turning around and marching out of the door. Kelley follows Alex, but not before she grabs an apple from the buffet on her way. She then stops behind Alex who halts in front of a conference room, opening the door and holding it open for Kelley to walk in.
“Why are we going in there?” Kelley asks without moving.
“Because I’m not arguing with you in a hotel hallway.”
“I didn’t know we were arguing.”
“Well, we are.” Alex answers pissed off and Kelley saunters into the room, casually sitting down on top of a desk, biting into her apple. Alex watches her relaxed, cocky attitude and gets even more aggravated, the sound of Kelley eating the apple driving her up the wall.
“Could you explain to me why you’re being such an asshole today?”
“Wow, straight to the point.”
“I’ve got no reason to beat around the bush.”
“Yeah, no clearly.”
“Excuse me?”
“Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the planet.”
“Yeah, somebody did and it certainly isn’t me.”
“What did I do?”
“We were supposed to meet in the hotel, Kelley! I was late to training because of you and since you apparently read all my texts, you could have at least sent a short answer, like always. Then you ignore me on the pitch and leave without saying a word, laughing loudly with other people, being in ‘a great mood’ according to Tobin and then you continue to ignore me at dinner, again sitting with other people.”
“You’re jealous.” Kelley grins.
“What the hell is wrong with you today? Did you even listen to a word I said?” Alex exclaims, getting really close to Kelley’s face.
“Frankly, I listened to all of them. That’s why I drew the conclusion that in fact you aren’t even mad because I didn’t text you back, but instead a series of situations triggered your anger, because I was consecutively giving my attention to somebody other than you. That combined with not texting you back is the reason why I’m sitting here in front of you.” Kelley smiles smugly, leaning back a bit to bite into her apple again and raise her eyebrows at Alex in a matter that asks ‘Am I right?’.
Alex shakes her head at Kelley angrily.
“What is it Alex?” Kelley grins provocatively, coming close to Alex’s face again.
“Your arrogance is pissing me off.” Alex bites, their face only inches apart, the tension thick.
“What are you going to do about it?” Kelley whispers with a sexy smirk.
They watch each other closely. Alex’s gaze bores into Kelley’s eyes flamingly while Kelley’s gaze is radiating ice cold poise. Alex doesn’t even notice that she’s leaning in until her lips are on Kelley’s kissing her vigorously. There is a loud thud when Kelley lets the apple fall out of her hand to grab her by her waist to pull her closer. Kelley then locks Alex between her legs by interlocking them behind her butt. Alex grabs Kelley’s face to deepen the kiss, making out with her greedily while Kelley’s hands push into Alex’s spine, making her arch her back.
“Oh, no I’m having war flashbacks to 2015.”
Alex snaps her head around in a flash, spotting a very disturbed looking Tobin. That’s also the moment Alex is pulled out of her trance and she feels Kelley’s body vibrating with laughter.
“Gotcha.” Kelley smirks.
Tobin joins in on Kelley’s laughter and Alex hides her face in her hands, groaning loudly.
“Goddamn it!”
“Aw, no worries baby, I know you just can’t resist.” Kelley chuckles, putting her hand in Alex’s hair to pull her head to her chest and place a kiss on top.
Alex pulls away, throwing her a chiding look and hits Kelley in the chest lightly, “You’re so stupid!”
“I’m a genius. I pulled all the strings and you took the bait.”
“Who was in on this?”
“Absolutely everyone, I even told Tobin what to say to you and she kept me updated if everything worked according to plan.” Kelley chuckles.
“God, I can’t believe I bought this. I knew something was off with how everybody was so touchy with you.” Alex shakes her head while Kelley rubs her hands up and down Alex’s torso comfortingly.
“You! You’re stupid as well!” Alex points at Tobin.
“Me??” Tobin exclaims with a high voice.
“Yeah you!!” Alex exclaims annoyed, “Was Allie in on this too?” Alex asks when she turns back to Kelley.
Kelley and Tobin look at each other for a moment before both start having a laughing fit.
“What’s so funny about that?!” Alex looks at them questioningly.
Kelley wipes a tear from her eye before giving Alex a ‘Are you serious’ look. Meanwhile, Tobin is still trying to calm down.
“Babe, Allie can’t even keep to herself what color of socks she’s wearing, not even to mention keeping a secret from her best friend.” Kelley chuckles, making Tobin snort loudly.
Alex pinches Kelley in the arm.
“Ow! What was that for?!” Kelley exclaims.
“Don’t be mean! I don’t like when you’re mean.” Alex crosses her arms and pouts.
“Sorry.” Kelley pouts at Alex pouting and gives her a quick peck, “Do you forgive me?”
“Maybe after another kiss.”
Kelley leans in, kissing Alex’s lips again.
“Ooooookay and I’m leaving.” Tobin says awkwardly.
“Thanks, Tobs!” Kelley gives her a thumbs up while looking at Alex’s lips, meaning to continue, but Alex shoves her away.
“Wait up, I’m leaving with you. This one will sleep in the lobby tonight for sure.” Alex jokes, trying to follow Tobin.
However, Kelley is able to pull her back towards her with her legs forcefully because they are still wrapped around her. Alex crashes into Kelley with momentum, which is why Kelley falls backwards and lands with her back on the table while Alex falls on top of her. Alex looks at her baffled for a moment, but when Kelley starts giggling, Alex immediately joins in. Tobin is long gone when their laughter dies down and Alex leans down to press a soft kiss to Kelley’s lips. She then pushes herself up and holds out her hand to pull Kelley up as well.
“How did you know this would work?” Alex asks, intertwining her hand with Kelley’s, as they leave the room.
“Okay first of all, I just knew you would get mad at me for not showing up and ignoring you. When I knew you were late to training, I asked everyone to be super touchy, which you hate. At the gym session I already told Tobin to tell you that I was in a fantastic mood to make you think that I was just not talking to you and not in a general bad mood. Tobin then texted me that you talked to Allie about the situation, which you always do when you are really mad. So, that was kind of my indicator. After that I asked the others to sit with me at dinner and act as if everything was overly funny and then I knew it was just a matter of time that you would confront me, because we never treat each other like this and always talk things out.” Kelley shrugs.
“God, why did I choose a Stanford grad?” Alex mumbles under her breath.
“Huh?”
“I said: But why were you so sure that I would kiss you if I’m mad?”
Kelley gives Alex a deadpan look.
“Come on, Al, I know you. I just needed to act arrogant, because boy do you love when I act arrogant.”
“What? I don’t!” Alex exclaims defensively, stopping in the middle of the hallway.
“It totally turns you on.” Kelley turns to look at Alex with a knowing grin.
“I-“ Alex starts, but Kelley raises her eyebrow at her judgingly and she closes her mouth again.
“Yeah, okay, maybe it does.” Alex mumbles quietly.
Alex starts walking again, pulling Kelley with her, who chuckles at Alex’s demeanor. They are about to return to the dining room when Alex stops again, looking as if she had a flash of genius.
Kelley looks at her questioningly, “What is it?”
“Should we prank them?”
“What do you have in mind?” Kelley chuckles, raising an eyebrow.
“Let’s just pretend pranking me was a bad idea…like a really bad idea.” Alex smirks.
Kelley smirks back at Alex, “Damn, I can’t believe you just broke up with me.”
“Such a shocker.” Alex laughs.
“Okay, let’s do this.” Kelley grins before moving her free hand over her face, changing her facial expression. Kelley looks at Alex devastated, her eyes looking dull and empty.
“Oh my god, don’t look at me like that, that breaks my heart.” Alex pouts.
“Yeah, well you just broke up with me.” Kelley says, blinking her eyes rapidly
“I don’t think I’m able to pull this through if you look like that. What are you even doing?” Alex giggles.
“Shh, I’m concentrating.”
“Why?” Alex laughs.
“Okay, how about you storm in there absolutely enraged and I’ll be coming after you in just a minute.” Kelley says, stopping the blinking.
“Sounds like a plan. Oh my god, that is perfect payback. They will lose their minds and they’re all going to have such a bad conscience.” Alex laughs cutely.
Kelley watches Alex’s excitement adoringly, not getting over the fact that Alex is so happy about such a banal thing. She smiles at her softly, somewhat spacing out, not hearing a word Alex is saying for a few moments, but eventually she snaps back to reality.
“-and if they ask Tobin, we just try to-“
Alex is interrupted mid-sentence by Kelley pressing a swift kiss to her lips. Alex looks at her amused, but still a little bit surprised.
“Man, I just love you.” Kelley grins, changing the look on Alex’s face into a dazzling smile.
They stare at each other infatuated and Alex’s gaze switches to Kelley’s lips. She then leans in slowly, resting her flat hand on Kelley’s chest while the other is still intertwined with Kelley’s hand. She softly puts her lips on Kelley’s, moving them tenderly but still purposeful. The kiss is the epitome of a non-verbal declaration of love and Kelley hears it loud and clear.
“Hey, Alex?” Kelley asks, making eye contact when they pull apart.
“Mhm?” Alex hums, switching her gaze from Kelley’s lips to her eyes.
“I won.” she says with a shit-eating grin.
Alex rolls her eyes at her, turning around to walk into the dining room.
“One wish, tiger. Just one wish!” Alex calls over her shoulder before entering the room.
Alex opens the door and marshes in furiously, trying to fake her anger the best she can. She slams the door closed, causing a loud bang that makes everyone look at her. That’s when the room falls completely silent and the last thing that can be heard is some silverware dropping on a plate. Tobin was about to return to her table and stops in front of Alex with her plate in hand.
“Are you okay?” she whispers discretely, looking at Alex concerned.
All eyes are on Alex, as everyone is waiting for her to answer.
“Why would anything be okay?!” Alex snaps loudly, making everyone’s eyes go wide.
“Alex, what happened?” Tobin asks confused, grabbing Alex’s elbow.
“Why don’t you ask Kelley??” Alex bites maliciously, shoving past her as her teammates start whispering to one another worriedly.
She sits down at her table, where Ashlyn, Crystal and Allie are looking at her concerned.
“Alex, is this about the prank?” Ashlyn asks carefully.
“What prank??” Allie frowns confused.
Alex shakes her head, not making eye-contact with anybody, not able to lie to them and afraid to start laughing. The silence is lingering in the room and Alex can feel everybody watching her every move while Tobin is still standing in front of the door bewildered. Luckily, Kelley has perfect timing and the door opens as she trots in, wiping her hand through her face. Alex looks up and her jaw drops when she sees Kelley crying her eyes out. If it’s even possible the room goes even quieter than before and when Alex looks around everybody’s jaw is dropped as well, however for another reason than Alex’s.
“Kel.” Tobin gets out, her mouth dry.
Kelley looks as if she’s about to pass out and Alex starts feeling sick, fighting the urge to stand up and hug her. She takes a deep breath and reminds herself that it’s all just a prank, but Kelley makes it seem so real that she is starting to feel as if they really broke up.
“What happened?” Tobin stutters.
If you dropped a needle everybody would have been able to hear it, which is why everyone hears Kelley’s next words clearly.
“Alex broke up with me.”
All of the girls gasp at Kelley, their eyes popping out of their heads while Tobin freezes as she looks at Kelley shocked. Everybody’s heads turn into Alex’s direction and Alex quickly looks down, hiding her facial expression. Alex feels Allie’s hand grabbing her arm with such force that it will probably cause bruising.
“YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!?” Allie yells loudly, her words echoing through the room.
Alex’s heart starts pounding in her chest when she doesn’t quite know what to do next. She decides to just get up and walk towards the door. As she passes Kelley, she knows better than to look up, but Kelley has something else in mind.
“Alex…it really was just a prank.” Kelley sobs.
Alex looks at Kelley amazed, fascinated with how good Kelley is selling this. Then she remembers that she has to play her part too and quickly thinks of a somewhat plausible reaction.
“I don’t believe you!!! This wasn’t a prank, you acted like a fucking asshole!” Alex yells loudly and she sees a quick expression of pride cross Kelley’s face before she refocuses.
“Look, everybody was in on it, they all can confirm that.” Kelley exclaims, throwing her arms out in desperation and Alex can spot some of her teammates nodding wide eyed while others just remain frozen.
“That only makes it worse!! Are you trying to tell me that I should hate all my friends too?!”
“No that’s not what I meant, I-” Kelley defends insecurely.
“Well congratulations, I already do!!” Alex yells exaggerated, making everybody look at her panicked.
Kelley gives her a short nod and Alex knows it’s time to put an end to the torture.
“I do!! I hate all of them, because they fucking ganged up with my fiancée to prank the shit out of me and you can all choke!” Alex says, turning around to flip them off while Kelley laughs loudly.
For a second they look at them absolutely horrified, their mouths wide open. When realization dawns on them they all heave a sigh of relief.
“You dirty bitches didn’t!!” Ashlyn yells.
“Oh, wow, that was more exhausting than bearing the burden of having to be funny every day.” Sonnett comments exhaustedly.
“Holy shit!” Mal groans.
“My heartbeat feels like after a rollercoaster ride.” Rose exhales, her hands on her chest.
“I think I’m gonna cry.” Sam hyperventilates, making everyone laugh.
“I am already crying! I hate the both of you.” Allie says, wiping a tear.
“I have to admit, you got me there for a second.” Megan chuckles.
“I couldn’t quite believe it though, that was so surreal.” Christen says wide-eyed.
“So you guys didn’t..like break up?” Abby asks carefully, her voice loaded with guilt.
Alex looks at Kelley like she is considering it.
“I don’t know, did you?” Kelley shrugs jokingly.
“Hmm, naaaah.” Alex says, hugging Kelley from the side, hanging on to her.
“Uff, damn and I thought we were responsible for you guys breaking up.” Becky laughs.
“I wouldn’t have been able to sleep ever again.” Lindsey shakes her head.
“Too bad Kel, too bad. Zach wouldn’t have minded if I told him I’m leaving him for you.” JJ winks.
“I’ll always love you, JJ. This is something special.” Kelley points between the both of them, making a heart out of her hands.
It’s an inside joke between both couples that started a few years ago when a tabloid wrote an article about Kelley and Julie potentially dating, because JJ lifted her up during her 100th cap celebration. Alex found the article and sent it to Zach asking him if the both of them should worry about Kelley and JJ’s affair. Ever since, Kelley and JJ take a piss out of pretending that they are the couple that never was.
“You’ll never get her, she’s mine.” Alex joins in, pulling Kelley closer possessively, putting a finger to her throat, gesturing that Julie will be dead if she comes closer.
They all laugh loudly and Kelley kisses the top of Alex’s head, putting her arm around her and stroking her other hand up and down Alex’s arm.
“That wasn’t funny at all, I was so confused!” Tobin scolds with a light grin on her face.
“You deserved it.” Alex giggles.
“Kel you owe us! But duuude, what was that acting skill though?!” Tobin exclaims.
“Yeah, right babe! I didn’t know you could do that. I felt like throwing up.” Alex gasps confused.
“Alex you should be really worried, maybe she’s just acting.” Megan laughs.
“Fuck off.” Kelley chuckles.
“I mean, she was good, but she’s not THAT good.” Alex giggles, kissing Kelley’s cheek.
“But you might as well be, that yelling was excellent. Sounded just like when you yell at me in real life.” Kelley grins.
“I don’t yell at you!” Alex scoffs, looking at her disapprovingly.
“I’m just joking babe.” Kelley laughs.
“Yeah now you laugh, but I’ll get you back eventually, O’Hara.” Alex says slyly.
Kelley’s laughing dies down as she looks at her wide-eyed, holding her hands up innocently.
“Too late, prankster.” Alex winks.
“Aww man.” Kelley grumbles.
“Uh guys, is Sam still breathing?” Lindsey chuckles, making everybody laugh and turn to look at Sam, who is still looking terrified.
“It’s okay Sammy, relax!” Kelley chuckles.
“I think I have to seek professional help after this.” Sam gasps while the whole team is having a laughing fit.

Just In Case (Emily x Reader)
Request: Emily x reader where the reader is deployed in to the military and got permission to video call Emily while she is at camp and something happens to the base while on the call and it ends the call with no goodbye and then like the team seeing news articles and trying to get in contact with reader but they can’t and Emily eventually gets notified that’s she’s in the hospital
There was nothing quite like waiting for the little green dot to appear next to your Skype name. The way excitement mixed with anxiety and impatience. How your wife never knew exactly what state you would be in, only that you would greet her with a wide (probably exhausted) smile.
It was rare that Emily actually got to call you while you were deployed. You were the assigned medic to a forward operating special ops unit, meaning you spent more time in the middle of nowhere doing dangerous missions than you did on base. She was excited she’d get to see your smiling face after almost a month (a year since she’d actually seen you in person).
She jumped when the little dot appeared on the screen (much to Lindsey and Kelley’s enjoyment) and clicked on your little icon.
The screen blinked, and your wide smile greeted her. “Hey darling, how’s champ camp?” Your little southern twang came through the computer.
Emily mirrored your smile (your accent always made her swoon just a little), Turning the camera so you could see your two best friends also waving at you. “Super fun. Me and Linds beat Kelley during the scrimmage,”
You smirked at your wife, shaking your head. You knew how competitive they all were (it had led to some very fun game nights at your house- especially with your wife who adamantly refused to be competitive off the pitch). “Bet the squirrel loved that,”
Emily shrugged. “She’s not taking it so well,”
She again pointed the camera towards your pouting sister. You cracked a smile at the woman.
“I’ll get her next time, don’t worry,” Kelley winked at the screen.
You looked off to the side for a second, nodding to whoever was talking to you behind your computer.
Emily wasn’t upset, hell she was more than used to the two of you never really being alone (you were the team leader after all). Instead, she took the opportunity to take in your features. Every new wrinkle of your forehead or dark circle under your eye (that looked more like a bruise or black eye at this point). Was that a new scar you kept rubbing under your chin?
Emily shook her head. She didn’t even want to think about how you got that until you were back safe in her arms. Your job was dangerous, she didn’t need any reminders.
“How are you holding up?” She asked, drawing your attention back towards her. It was a safe question, one she knew she could ask over a live feed. One that didn’t cross any “clearance” lines you had warned her about (though she was sure that your superiors knew you told her many stories deemed classified over the years in the safety of your bedroom).
You shrugged, your crooked smile not quite meeting your eyes. “I’m alright. Super tired. We just got to base a little while ago,”
Your vague answer didn’t surprise her. You didn’t like to worry her, and half of your missions were pretty secretive anyway. It was one thing to share your darkest stories, the things you had seen that you couldn’t un-see, while the two of you were pressed together, and another to try and explain from a million miles away.
Your wife knew how your job weighed on you.
“But you’re ok?” She pressed, unwilling to let you deflect the question. She needed to know. You ran a hand through your tousled hair (one of your biggest tells), leaning forward just a bit. “Just some bruises. Promise.” You paused, leaning forward, your fake playful smile reappearing with a wiggle of your eyebrows, “What about you? Kelley’s a beast on the field,”
Emily cracked a smile, despite her worry. “I’m good babe, but Lindsey’s got a nice one,”
“Ooo let me see,” you said, leaning closer to the screen like a little kid. Emily turned the computer so you could harass Lindsey instead of her.
“No,” the midfielder pouted, crossing her arms.
“Come on, I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” You wined dramatically as Emily turned the computer around and Kelley butted into the frame.
“That sounds like some teenage boy-...” She started, only to be cut off by a loud crash and the blaring of an alarm.
“Fuck,” you hissed, looking off-screen, as more yelling started, and the screen shook.
“Babe-“ Emily said, and you glanced back at the screen as if suddenly realizing your wife was still there.
“I love you Em. I’m sorry I gotta go,” you said quickly, looking directly in the camera.
Then the call ended. The screen went blank and the three women sat frozen. Emily very slowly placed her hand over where your face had been mere seconds ago. “Love you too, be safe,”
The “please,” was softer, almost breathless. And the sound broke Kelley and Lindsey’s hearts. All they could do was hope you would be alright.
****
Emily had learned to not read the news reports a long, long time ago, on your first deployment (back when the two of you had only been dating for six months).
As it turned out, most of the time they had no real information about what was going on. They just reported on the overarching bad thing that was happening, or whatever appeared to be happening, and tended to ignore the boots on the ground (your words not Emily’s).
But still, she couldn’t help but stare at the articles rolling in about an attack on one of the bases near where she knew you were stationed. Especially after the abrupt end to your semi-distracted phone call.
“Em, reading it repeatedly isn’t going to change the words,” Kelley said softly, prying the phone from her grasp and sticking it on the chair beside her.
Emily sighed heavily. “It’s just hard,” she mumbled, scrubbing a hand over her eyes.
Lindsey, Kelley, and the rest of the table nodded understandingly. They may not have the same relationship with you that Emily did, but they loved you all the same.
It was terrifying to not know where you were, or if you were alright, but they had to be strong for Emily right now.
“She didn’t answer your text yet?” Lindsey asked, reaching across the table to grasp Emily’s hand tightly. You might not be able to call, but texting was usually a good way to get a hold of you.
Emily bit her lip, shaking her head tightly. “Nah uh,”
She pinched the bridge of her nose. It wasn’t uncommon for you to go radio silent, especially when you were on a mission, but it had been 4 days since your phone call and You always sent her a little a-ok when you were finished with whatever you were doing. She was starting to get worried.
“What about Kara, she’s always with her,” Kelley asked gently, rubbing her back, mentioning your best friend.
The two of you were practically attached at the hip, but as you always said, experience in a war zone will do that go people. Kara was your right-hand man and always answered Emily, especially when you weren’t.
“She hasn’t answered either,” Emily mumbled, shaking her head. The women at the table all shared a look. The last time Kara hadn’t responded while the two of you were away, you had been stuck doing emergency surgery on one of your guys in the field after an IED blew up one of the hummers in your convoy.
“I’m sure they’re just busy. You know the news likes to make a big deal out of nothing. They always do,” Lindsey said reassuringly.
“Yeah, and no news is good news right?” Kelley added, with a half-smile.
A dark look crossed Emily’s features. She knew (and feared) what happened when things went wrong. She dreaded that phone call or god forbid an officer showing up with your “just in case” letter (one she knew you always carried with you, but she had never physically seen).
“Only until it isn’t,” she said softly, her voice deadly serious. The women at the table sobered and nodded, equally as somber. It was a terrifying truth that was easier to ignore than confront.
“I’m sure she’s just busy being a hero,” Lindsey said softly, leaning over to grab Emily’s hand tightly, as Kelley squeezed the woman comfortingly.
“I hope you’re right,” Emily sighed.
“She promised Em, and she never breaks her promises,” Kelley said, equally as serious, trying to hide just how worried she was. You swore you’d always come back to them, and she would kick your ass if you didn’t.
*****
It felt like Emily’s heart was going to beat out of her chest. It was hammering harder than it ever had, even after a full ninety. She tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for the receptionist to find your room and clear her with the MP’s apparently stationed outside your room.
The second she got the 3 am call, it had been a mad dash to get here. The drive from Orlando to the hospital at the Jacksonville Air Force base was a blur, but she was pretty sure Kelley had broken just about every speed law there was to get her here faster (and to get herself here too, she was your sister after all).
“I’m her wife. I have permission to see her,” Emily growled at the poor receptionist, who continued to rapidly type on her computer.
“I’m sorry miss, but due to the circumstances I have to check,” She clicked her tongue, leaning forward to get a better look at the screen, apparently oblivious to Emily’s growing rage.
Kelley placed a careful hand on Emily’s arm, trying to quell the brewing storm before the receptionist took the brunt of it.
“Fuck the circumstances. Let me see my wife,” Emily hissed, completely ignoring Kelley’s “calm down Sonnett,” (your older sister was worried too, but flipping out at a receptionist wasn’t going to help their cause).
“I’m trying ma’am. We have protocols too, especially after a Rescue and Evacuation,” the woman behind the counter sighed, more frustrated than sympathetic. Emily’s eyes widened. Kara hadn’t said anything about a rescue mission over the phone, only that you were hurt and being transferred to Florida from a hospital in London.
“A what?!!” Emily screeched, and Kelley grabbed the back of her hoodie to prevent her from launching herself over the counter at the frightened-looking receptionist.
Before the woman behind the counter could respond, your very tired-looking best friend appeared around the corner.
“Hey, Em. She’s back this way,” Kara smiled tightly at your wife, nodding towards the receptionist and gesturing down a hallway to her left.
“Oh thank god,” Kelley sighed, practically shoving Emily into Kara’s arms. Kara caught her, and held her hand out to your older sister, carefully beginning to guide them down the maze of hallways.
“I have to warn you, she’s in pretty rough shape,” Kara said softly as they approached the door, her hand pausing on the handle to look both women in the eyes. Emily and Kelley both nodded solemnly, steeling themselves as Kara gently pushed the door open.
“Damn,” Emily and Kelley gasped as they stepped through the threshold and took in your sleeping form.
Your normally strong form looked so small under the mass of tubes and wires surrounding you (but Kelley notes that you were very much breathing on your own). The whole left side of your face was bruised, and the left half of your chest and arm was wrapped tightly in gauze.
Emily very carefully approached the bed, her fingers hovering over your right side, afraid to touch you and cause you more pain.
“Oh baby,” She breathed out, settling into the chair beside your bed, finally grabbing your uninsured hand very gently and pulling it to her lips.
She heard Kelley ask “What happened?”, but her eyes never left your face.
Kara blew out a long breath, seemingly trying to steady herself. “Our base got attacked- retaliation for freeing a village probably,”
Kelley raised her eyebrow at the woman. She wanted to know everything, not the edited version.
Kara swallowed hard before continuing. “We split into teams. One to pull security and one to evacuate the hospital. We lost communication after one of our own went Rogue. In the chaos, an intruder slipped through us and went to attack the hospital wing. Y/n got ambushed trying to get an injured private to the helicopter,”
Silence stretched between them as the soccer stars tried to take in the story. It was so you to do everything in your power to help someone else, even if it was dangerous or detrimental to you.
“How bad is it,” The words left Emily’s mouth barely above a whisper, muffled slightly by your hand still at her lips.
“She got hit 3 times. One was a through and through to the shoulder. It chipped her collar bone, but mostly just got some soft tissue. The other two were worse. The through and through in her leg nicked an artery, and the other one in her chest did some damage. Luckily she was able to drag herself back to the hospital wing and they could get her stable. The PJ’s got her to London and they did emergency surgery,” Kara listed off, rubbing the back of her neck and closing her eyes tightly.
Emily didn’t doubt that seeing you like that was probably one of the most difficult things Kara ever had to do, and she felt bad for making her relive that.
“Is she gonna be alright?” Kelley asked after a few seconds, cracking with emotion.
Kara nodded. “Yeah, Lena looked over the X-rays. Said that she would need a lot of rehab, but she should make a pretty full recovery. Right now she’s just sedated to help with the pain,”
Emily felt her heart unclench at the news, made even sweeter by the mention of Kara’s own wife. Lena was a straight shooter, someone who was brutally honest and equally deft at her job (which was part of the reason the two of you got on so well). She wouldn’t bullshit them and give them false hope.
“Thank you,” Emily croaked. Kara snorted and shook her head.
“Wasn’t me. She promised you she’d make it and she wasn’t about to let you down,”
You had dragged yourself nearly 800 yards to the hospital wing, and the only thing they said you said was that you couldn’t die because you swore to your wife you’d come home. Kara was convinced that you had survived purely on adrenaline and stubbornness (that and dumb luck). At least she hadn’t had to deliver your just in case letter.
Emily smiled softly at your sleeping form, allowing the steady beep of your heart and your warm hand to comfort her “I know,”
It was easy to relax now that you were here safe in her arms. Sure, you would have a long road to recovery (and getting you to actually follow the doctor's orders was bound to be a fight), but you were alive with no imminent threat hanging above your head.
She would be there for you every step of the way.

Omega Night (Omega!Tobin x Alpha!Reader)
Request: omega Tobin? It’s so good! What about her and omega Sonnett having a little bonding time while the make fun of their alphas? Like this story but part 2? Sequel to Choose Your Battles
“She did not,” Emily snorted, shooting orange soda out of her nose.
“Oh, but she did,” Kelley cackled, passing Junior a napkin. Tobin shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. It wasn’t news to her that you and Christen had gotten into some crazy shit in college, but it was always amusing to watch Kelley tell the stories to the youngins.
“College Y/n was a bit of a knot head if we’re honest,” Tobin shrugged. Instincts were a difficult thing to control, and you had had a pretty steep learning curve.
“And Christen just went along with it?” Emily asked shocked. It was usually Christen reigning Kelley in, being the calm one in their relationship.
“I put my foot down pretty early with Christen,” Kelley snorted. She was lucky enough to meet her mate early on, and Christen had amazing control. You had taken a bit more time to learn how to handle all the new feelings you had for Tobin (and the protectiveness that you had over Kelley because of your closeness).
“Is that why she’s so laid back with Toby? Like I don’t think Lindsey would be so chill with alphas hitting on me all the time,” Emily’s head quirked to the side with the question. You were so chill, almost as chill as Tobin herself. Always so careful to make sure your mate knew you trusted her and you rarely ever got super overprotective.
“Hate to break it to you junior, but alphas do hit on you all the time,” Kelley laughed, shaking her head when Emily’s cheeks and ears turned bright red. It helped Lindsey’s instincts that her mate was completely oblivious to most of it. That and you and the rest of the alphas in the team had taught her some great coping mechanisms.
“Y/n wasn’t always so relaxed, hence the term knothead,”
****
You growled lightly, your nose running the familiar circuit from Tobin’s ear, to her scent gland, before landing on the space where your mating mark would one day sit. Your hands roamed the flat plane of her stomach, your thumbs running circles into the soft skin. Tobin’s breath caught in her throat when your thigh found it’s way between her legs, your hips pinning her to the wall.
“Babe,” She moaned, tilting her head to give the demanding lips on her neck more room to work. A backroom of the stadium was not an appropriate place for this. But her omega whined at the thought of telling you to stop.
A rumble started low in your chest at the pheromones your mate was emitting. Your teeth grazed the place where her neck met her shoulder. How you longed to dig your teeth deeper into her soft skin, to leave your mating mark as a visible sign to what you already knew. To ward off both the alphas from Tobin’s team and from your own. “You’re mine,”
The sound sent a shiver down Tobin’s spine. If she knew that accidentally wearing her teammate’s sweatshirt would pull this reaction out of you, she would have to do it more often. Your growl deepened in response, as did the thick cloud of pheromones around you.
You hated the smell of another alpha on her skin. You knew that Tobin was way out of your league, but you were glad she had chosen you, that she let you love her.
You kissed the spot on her neck you knew she loved a little more roughly, sucking the sweet tasting skin into your mouth. You were going to make sure everyone knew she was taken.
****
“Yeah, Tobin had a Permanent hickey for like a year,” Kelley smirked at Tobin’s red cheeks.
Tobin shook her head, a smile playing on her lips. It had been fun for a while, to bait you into more… possessive behavior, but after you pinned Christen to the pitch for tackling your money’s in the finale, she knew she had to do something. “I waited too long to finally put my foot down,”
“Yeah, I don’t tolerate that alpha shit from Linds,” Emily rolled her eyes. Yes her mate was protective, but she was a strong, independent woman and Lindsey had one hell of a time trying to rein her in. Plus If Lindsey ever took the alpha thing too far she would just ignore her for a while. That always did the trick.
“That’s why she shoved ARod for no reason during your match against Utah right?” Kelley raised her eyebrow at the woman. Lindsey was one of the strongest and most protective alphas on the team, even rivaling you, especially when it came to the woman she loved.
“That doesn’t count. She was being a meanie butt,” Emily pouted, crossing her arms.
“And that discussing hickey that wouldn’t go away for months after the World Cup?” Tobin added, nudging the blond defender’s shoulder (ignoring how most of the omega’s on the team had sported similar marks).
“You guys are no fun,” Emily huffed. All of the alphas on their team had their moments, it wasn’t fair that they were just making fun of her.
“I think we can all agree that that isn’t true,” Kelley smiled, pulling sonny into a hug, letting out her comforting scent to show that she didn’t mean any harm. All they needed right now as an overprotective alpha crashing omega night because of upset feeling traveling down their mating bond.
Emily’s pout grew, and she shook her head unsatisfied. Kelley huffed, “Look, the alphas are idiots, but they’re our idiots,”
“Life wouldn’t be nearly as fun without them,” Tobin added in agreement.
It was true. You all could be overprotective about the stupid tiny things, and overly concerned when you were away from your mates. But you were also cuddly and never hesitated to shower your mates in affection. You were strong and sweet and they didn’t know what they would do without you. You were idiots, but you were their idiots and that’s what made the difference.
