One thing I’m surprised not many people have talked about, is the concept of Shadow being culture shocked with nature.

I can imagine Shadow being distracted by the jungle when he first arrived back to Prison Island (I say back because we didn’t see him in the forest after he was set free). That was the first time we’ve seen Shadow in nature.

And another shocking thing is nobody mentions Shadow experiencing rain for the first time during White Jungle (when he had to run back to save Rouge).

This is something I really hope the 3rd movie touches on. I do appreciate them acknowledging Sonic, Tails and Knuckles culture shock about Earth. But the difference is the Wachowski boys’s culture shock is about Earth’s customs (like handshakes, fist bumps, bucket lists) while Shadow’s is about nature.

Ideas for a potential shadow spin off

- We of course need background on why Maria was living on the base. Did she have no other relatives and had to move there so her Grandfather could be her guardian? Was she extremely lonely moving there and being the only kid? Is that why she so badly wanted to befriend Shadow, because she quite literally had no one just like he had no one?

- As a throw back to the first movie, Maria also had a bucket list of things she wanted to do with shadow when they grew up (😭) and Shadow sets out to complete it

- This includes things like visiting famous locations, swimming in the ocean, learning a new instrument (which they had already started on with guitar), and going on an adventure together

- Shadow struggling with his identity now that he’s on his own. If he’s not Maria’s friend then who is he? This could really tie into the themes of his game, as well as a good opportunity for “I am all of me”

- Shadow checks on the wachowskis from a distance but dares not intrude. Of course Sonic ends up finding him and they have another heart to heart, letting him know that if he ever needs a friend that he’ll be there

These are very good ideas! I’d especially love the idea of Maria having a bucket list and including Shadow to be a part of her dream!

Random Sonic Movie 3 thoughts here

Remember the whole bucket list thing from the first movie? Well, I think it would be interesting if they brought that back in the third movie.

What if they find out that Maria and Shadow also made a bucket list?

What if it has stuff like “see the ocean” or “make friends” or… “grow up”?

What if Sonic tries to use the list as a way to make Shadow change his mind and that he should just enjoy life on earth, and Shadow just takes the list and tears it up into pieces?

Sonic 1 Rewatch in Prep for SONIC 3!!

Ok so I rewatched Sonic 1 tonight in ✨preparation✨ for Sonic 3 on Thursday and yall - these movies are the cutest. Not to mention I work at the movies so you bet I utalized that Laser Projector / Dolby Sound System combo 😤😤

Some notes -

I am so hype to see Sonic 3 on this screen on Thursday - you could see every detail - like tell me why I saw the cakes before Maddie picked them up?? I saw so much detail in the attic - I was fascinated just looking around

My friend (who hasn’t seen these movies yet) leaned over and asked me if Stone and Robotnik were going to Kiss seconds before Robotnik put his hand in Stones Mouth and that cracked me up

THE BUCKET LIST SCENE?? Tom says QUOTE “I don’t plan on dying any time soon” and Sonic responds “Well you’re friends with me now” I fear Foreshadowing™️

Ok so in the theatre I was in, the safely lights are Robotnik Red which GREATLY enhanced the experience just if you have colored lights, you should put them on Gamer Red. Trust.

I totally forgot Wade shoots at Robotnik. He’s really underrated and I worry the TV show flanderized him. He was super enjoyable in this one. I fear Adam Palley hasn’t been at any press events so Wade might not be in the third one, and that would be honestly sad.

I get that I may be the last one to realize this, but I did just get that Sonics naming convention (ie “Donut Lord”, “Pretzel Lady”) was just a really clever way to set up Egg Man and I can’t believe it took me this long to realize that

I’m gonna watch the second one tomorrow and I’ll post a little something then. These movies are just the best - the hype is building and I can’t wait until Thursday.

ok this is the liveblog for sonic movie 2 because why the heck not! i gotta sail the seven seas like what i read on sonic’s bucket list from the last movie aaaaaaaaaaa

Doc Drop - The one where sonic amy and tails are about to watch the Mario movie bc it’s all I can think about :)

Sonic leans back in his seat, cradling the bag of popcorn in the crook of his arm and drinking noisily from the Mario cup in his hand.

“Honestly, you’d think he’d have created the first video game adaptation with the amount of people in line out there.” He mutters around the straw in his mouth.

Amy gives him a warning love tap on the shoulder, glaring at him. “Sonic! That’s no way to show support for a friend!”

Sonic grins sheepishly. “Aw, c’mon, Ames, I was only kidding!”

She narrows her eyes and takes some of the popcorn from his bucket. “Sonic T. Hedgehog,” She warns, wagging a finger at him, “we are going to show support for our friends and enjoy the movie.”

Sonic gives a relenting shake of his head right as Tails shuffles in front of them, crossing to get to his seat. He’s donning a Luigi suit, much to Sonic’s earlier conflict. Bright, giddy, blue eyes look onto Sonic in excitement only to pout and level him with a frown.

Oh boy, what now?

“Sonic, where’s your hat?”

Chaos.

“Tails, I never agreed to—”

“Found it!” Amy chirps, pulling the infamous red hat seemingly from out of nowhere. “Here you go, Sonic.”

He gives her a deadpanned look, glances at Tails’s pleading expression, and sighs. He accepts the hat with a mumbled thanks and sets it on his head, relenting again to appease his best buddy.

Ecstatic, Tails settles into his seat, adjusting the denim straps of his overalls with a big smile on his face and shakes a box of Reese’s, silently offering some to Sonic. “I’ve heard they’ve got a ton of references to the games and even the consoles! I wanna see if I can manage to find them all the first watch!”

Sonic accepts the Reece’s, munching on them quietly and raising his brows in mild interest. He’d also heard about the many nods to the classics and was sort of curious to see how often they’d fit something in.

Most of his curiosity stemmed from seeing whether watching this was going to be worth the time; sitting down for so long watching his (technically) oldest rival have all the fun onscreen wasn’t how he imagined a fun night to go.

“Oh! Did you hear there are post credit scenes?” Amy pipes up, flapping her hands in Tails direction, nearly whacking Sonic on the nose. He smirks and sits up, providing her more space. “I think they said there was two, hang on—” She turns back into her seat, pulls out her phone and types with a speed rivaling his own.

“Ooh, a post credit scene!” Tails says, before taking a second to finish the reeces in his mouth. “I wonder if it’ll tease the next movie like yours did, Sonic!”

Sonic huffs, snickering at the possibility. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was better than mine. Doesn’t take much to beat that ‘Shadow Reveal.’”

Amy elbows him and he breaks out into an apologetic laugh. “Right, right! Supportive, got it!”

“Someone sounds a little threatened.” Tails sings, grinning mischievously and taking his turn to elbow at Sonic.

“Oh, please,” Sonic says, swatting his elbow away without heat. “As if the old man could outsell me. I’ve got two movies already!” He defends, realizing a moment too late that he just played into his little brother’s hands.

Tails laughs and takes a sip from his own (Mario Kids Snack Pack) cup. “You’d be surprised! They’re predicting that it’ll be the biggest opening for a game adaptation.”

“Who’s ‘they’?” Sonic asks confounded and frowning at the big screen that is now littered with… ducks… Okay.

“The movie analysts or critics or something.” Amy says rolling her eyes. She reaches over Sonic again, this time to enthusiastically share the contents of her screen to Tails. Sonic scoots into the corner so his seat to get a peek as well. “Look! TWO credit scenes AND they have some of the user scores out now!”

Tails gasps behind a hand. “I knew the user scores would be higher, but not by THIS much!”

Sonic grins, scrutinizing the list of red and yellow reviews. “What, the critics said it was bad or something?” He scrolls to the top, catches the words ‘disappointment’ and ‘empty,’ and chuckles.

Amy gives him a solemn nod and turns her phone on silent. “I read through a few of the articles and they were kind of harsh on it. Said that it was too fast paced and unoriginal.”

“Huh.” He says, trying to appear neutral, but the shit-eating grin seeps through and before he knows it he’s full on grinning. “Fast is not how I’d describe Mario.”

Tails shakes his head good-naturedly. “I’ve watched a few non-spoiler reviews and they all said that the movie’s best enjoyed if you know the games. I’m guessing the plot is simple and it’s more focused on action, and maybe a little character.”

“Hah, now we’re talking.” Sonic says, adjusting in his seat and watching the previews with more earnest. “I like a good action movie.”

Consider these two part of my bucket list. (No pictures for these)

For those who don’t know, the Sprite Royal Rumble is something I do from time to time. It's basically WWE’s Royal Rumble only, it's mostly full of OCs and the winner is chosen randomly. And for my 20th Anniversary I got dream entrants with Bob and George entering the event. And as you see, I am currently working on a Theme SRR with Sonic Inspired Characters. So what could my dream SRR be?

Simply put, having the entire group being wrestlers. Current, former, fictional, the Sprite Royal Rumble of my dreams that only people who are good with Create a Wrestler and have the latest WWE game can do on a whim. Since I would need all these to have sprites, I can only dream. So if I had no limitation, who would I bring in? Part 1 is for the men and part 2 will be for the ladies. So who will be in my Dream Sprite Royal Rumble...

Former Rumble Winners

Starting off with Some actual Royal Rumble winners: John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Brock Lesnar, Shawn Micheals, Bret Hart, the Rock and Roman Reigns. That’s 10 spots off the bat and I don’t want to fill it up with just winners.

Fictional Wrestlers

I’m sticking with 5 fictional wrestlers as the absolute limit. I do want to stick with mostly real wrestlers. First off, Zangief from Street Fighter because of course. When you think of fictional wrestlers, I bet most would think of him first. Then King from Tekken because he would probably be the second person most would think of if not the first. Now for some not so obvious picks. 

Wolf from Virtua Fighter is one I have a strong attachment to. I (technically) beat my first arcade game with him. Long story but in short he’s a big reason I’m a fan of Virtua Fighter. Starman from Nintendo’s Pro Wrestling because I always had a strong attachment to him since playing that game as a kid. And the final Fictional Wrestler will be someone not from a video game...

Mantaro Kinniku, or for us Dub Listeners, Kid Muscle from the Kinnikuman. He comes from the anime Kinnikuman Nisei or as it is called here: Ultimate Muscle. Wanted to bring the Manga series that many people around the world enjoy and showcased their love for wrestling in every page. And if you need a fictional wrestler, you gotta have a Kinnikuman.

Personal Picks

15 have been selected, now for some personal picks. The Miz because he’s Awesome. MJF because he’s better than me and I know it. Kane because, despite his current political position, he was my favorite competitor in the Royal Rumble event. Bad News Brown because I just like him. And Owen Hart, who I wish could be around today but sadly passed away. May he find peace and the Hart Family reunite regardless where they are.

Spots Picks

Now with 10 spots remaining, let’s pick wrestlers who would make an interesting story within the event. Tiger Mask, the actual professional wrestler, meeting King is just too perfect to not pass up. Curry Man because every Royal Rumble could use one joke entry. Bill Goldberg because between his fictional feud with Brock Lesnar to his real life feud with Bret Hart, not to mention actually having Stonecold face Goldberg.

Speaking of facing Bret Hart, CM Punk, Kurt Angle and Bryan Danielson. Some of the best modern wrestlers meeting the Best there is, was and every will be. Darby Allin because we could use a spot monkey and this guy is nuts. Keith Lee I feel would be a nice mix of powerhouse who can move and would be neat to see him against others in this match. He did an impressive showing against Lesnar after all.

Antonio Inoki, founder of NJPW, definitely would be a great addition to the real Royal Rumble back during his prime. So to have him go against some of the best then and now would be a treat to see. And finally, Taz has some ECW representation as well as a spot in the movie where he suplexes almost everyone in there. 

And these are my picks. Hopefully a good mix of people I know Vs what people would want to see an event like this. The full list is below and next time, which will be after the story, I’ll do this with the women.

Like… wasn’t Tom’s character arc from the first Sonic Movie was that by the end, he’d felt like he checked the “save a life” box off his bucket list, as he had wanted to, he decides to stay in Green Hills and take care of the people around him and NOT to become a street cop in San Francisco???????

I’ve been saying this for YEARS, and I’m so sick and tired of having to constantly repeat myself, Sonic Fans could care less about actual good character development, as long as it means being fed the same thing over, and over, and over again…

at this point, no one truly knows what is or what isn’t out of character for Sonic himself, even the people who are currently working for Sega and Sonic Team themselves…

As appose to the blockheads who think they’re all high and mighty and that they know everything about Sonic’s character, and what’s appropriate for him to do, and what’s not

Ironically, these same people who want Amy to be in the third movie, just so she can be the one who befriends Shadow, reminds him of Maria’s promise, and restores his faith back into humanity, while at the same time? Completely ignoring the exact words she said to him in which is what motivates Shadow to help Sonic and Knuckles 😭

you seriously cannot make this shit up even if you tried…

They only want Amy back just for that scene alone..

It’s such a shallow reasoning for wanting the character in the film.

She’s apart of the main cast, and you want her just for that?

As much as I loved SA2, and it’s most certainly in my top 3 Favourite Sonic Games of All Time, the problem with “My Sweet Passion” was that the ENTIRE song was dedicated to Sonic, and you got Tails’ theme talking about him becoming independent, SA2 was a disservice to Amy’s character overall, Amy’s theme in SA1 feels so disjointed from her story in the game, which is her becoming more independent (just like Tails), but then SA2 just reverts it and it’s so weird, and to mention everybody just kept leaving her behind as a joke until Shadow finally appreciates her towards the end

Looking back, I really wasn’t a fan of this running joke. I’ve slowly come to the conclusion that the 2000s in general? Were not a kind decade for Amy as a character whatsoever 😶‍🌫️

Honest question for y’all, how would you feel that instead of Amy, in the Sonic Movie 3, it would be Sonic or JoJo (aka Tom and Maddie Wachowski’s niece) to be the one who Shadow reminds Shadow of Maria's promise? In the case with JoJo? Actually befriends Shadow, I’ve seen people speculating that might actually happen in the movie

And it would make more sense considering it would make more of an impact if it is a human being who convinces him to do the right thing, since it was humans who did so much harm to Shadow in the past, listening and helping a human would be a great act of humility and maturity. within the Sonic Movie 3 for a human character like JoJo

And if you think that instead of Amy, it’s JoJo who’ll be the one who Shadow befriends and is the one who reminds Shadow of Maria's promise that automatically just so happens makes me an Amy detractor? Then I’m sorry I’ll never take you seriously ever again…

I mean, sorry if this is gonna sound mean as hell, but here’s the simple truth that these people don’t wanna accept, Amy ain't worth a 'No Way Home' treatment, and if she were in the movie you would've seen her casting already/seen her in marketing material.

She ain't no Tobey or Andrew.

Sonic Movie 3 doesn’t need to be an exact copy of Sonic Adventure 2 to be good.

Amy & Rouge don’t need to be forced into the film & over-clutter the story.

Let Sonic 3 do its own thing, let there be surprises, these films are at their best when they make their own twists on the series.

As appose to just pointing your finger and saying “They hate girls/wanna keep it to the boys"…

I've been a fan of One OK Rock for about 5 years now, performing live, they are on the par with early Rolling Stones. Musically, they run the spread from punk rock (their early 3 CDs) Hard rock (their next 4 CDs) Power Pop Rock (Their next 3 CDs) and everything between. And as people, they love their fans passionately and go out of their way to connect with them.If you have seen the Sonic The Hedgehog Movie -- you've heard them. If you've played the newest Monster Hunter game -- you've heard them. They have even performed for the WARP TOUR through America (25th Anniversary). With "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" turning 25 years old on November 19th of this year, I have this idea for a "SpongeBob SquarePants" video game that Purple Lamp Studios should develop.

TITLE

"The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Adventures"

ESRB RATING

Probably E or E10+, you decide.

PREMISE

You play through the events of SpongeBob's adventures on the big screen, from his first movie to the upcoming "SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 5: Search for SquarePants" (that or higher depending on if it'll ever be made).

The events of SpongeBob TV movies like "Atlantis SquarePantis", "Pest of the West", "WhoBob WhatPants?" (albeit rewritten), "SpongeBob VS. The Big One", and "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout", as well as spin-off movies like the upcoming "Saving Bikini Bottom: A SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" could be available as possible DLC levels.

GAMEPLAY

Like the latest SpongeBob video game, "The Cosmic Shake", the game would be an open-world sandbox game where you can explore the locations from the theatrical films. Unlike "The Cosmic Shake", the costumes you unlock for SpongeBob (and Patrick, depending on if he should be playable for all the movie adventures) have special abilities you can spend Goofy Goober dollars on. For instance, by completing the storyline of the first movie, you'll unlock SpongeBob's Goofy Goober Rock attire, which allows SpongeBob flight mode and perform his sonic wave guitar while hovering. He can also fire blue lightning bolts. For another example, by completing the storyline for "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 3: Sponge Out of Water", you'll unlock SpongeBob's Invincibubble form, which allows SpongeBob some sort of bubble-themed upgrades. Other costumes can be unlocked as just cosmetics, even after wearing them once depending on the level, like SpongeBob's visor glasses (even though they were black and purple in the original version of the first movie's licensed video game) when he fights the movie version of King Neptune, who is under Plankton's mind control via his Bucket Helmet.

(NOTE: The only thing I debate on with this idea is if you play the movie in their chronological order, or if the player should be given the creative freedom to play any movie's events in the order they choose.)

CREATIVE CHANGES

For the badly received movies like "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2: Truth or Square" and "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 4: Sponge on the Run" (and some of the badly received TV movies), I have a list of changes I would make for those movies to connect the movies better, but still be faithful to its original source material.

For "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2: Truth or Square", simply have the 2nd movie take place about a day or so after SpongeBob was given his new manager position at the end of the first movie. It would be revealed that Plankton escaped from prison and is plotting revenge for SpongeBob and Patrick ruining his Plan Z.

For "The SpongeBob SqaurePants Movie 4: Sponge on the Run", SpongeBob will not have problems being courageous. And instead of Plankton arranging for Gary's kidnapping (since "Sponge Out of Water" confirmed Plankton's heel-face turn, despite the ending and post-credits scene.), Dennis will have kidnapped Gary instead (just have Dennis be voiced by whoever can do a good impression of Alec Baldwin). On top of that, all the "Kamp Koral" references will be removed. Because of this, Sandy reveals that she first met SpongeBob when he rescued her from the clam she was wrestling with (from "Tea in the Treedome") instead of first meeting each other at camp. Squidward (who by this point no longer gets mad at SpongeBob and Patrick's antics) shows his rock-hard abs from the last movie, and tells everyone about how SpongeBob came through for him at the Bubble Bowl (a reference to the episode, "Band Geeks".). Patrick reveals how he's always known SpongeBob since they were babies (a reference to the episode, "The Secret Box"). And even Mr. Krabs reveals how great of a fry cook SpongeBob's been since the anchovies stormed the Krusty Krab (a reference to the premiere episode, "Help Wanted"), and after SpongeBob returned the movie Neptune's Crown, Mr. Krabs no longer acts as the stingy tightwad he once was after being frozen. Another change I would make for SpongeBob and Patrick to never argue, not once, as it was really pointless.

With the DLC level based on "WhoBob WhatPants?", simply rewrite the story with Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs never getting angry at SpongeBob. Instead, SpongeBob will have won a trip to New Kelp City, but gets lost while trying to find the airport and loses his memory, not knowing he wound up in New Kelp City.

MULTIPLAYER

For the game's multiplayer mode, I was thinking some mini-games would be based on some of the challenges from the first movie's licensed video game, like the combat challenges, SpongeBob's ball challenge levels, and Patrick's platforming challenges. But there can be other challenges too, with some of them supporting 4 players.

This is all I've got, but while I may early to celebrate SpongeBob's 25th anniversary, I still think this would be a great video game if Nickelodeon or even the folks at THQNordic or Purple Lamp Studios took the time to read my idea. 12 Days of Sonkmas: Day 9 A Present for Crazy Carl

Remember that drawing Carl made of Sonic in the first movie? Sonic has it framed up on his wall as a momento of their time together.

Sonic wanted to repay the man who gave him his first ever portrait… by making his own! He tried to capture the Crazy Carl esq of the drawing.

He did it from memory. Sonic doesn’t think he’s the greatest artist, but he thinks he drew the hat pretty good.
