One of my all time favorite details between Sonic and Knuckles is how protective Knuckles is of Sonic, whenever Sonic is in danger Knuckles never hesitates even for a second to protect his buddy, even when it may hurt him instead.

Knuckles isn’t letting Sonic get hurt, not on his watch.
