Mammon:

Mammon notices the sudden change in your mood straight away since he’s always around you

He does his best to try and cheer you up without directly confronting you about it

So he’d invite you out with him and might even spoil you with pretty things in hopes that using his money on you helps distract you from whatever you’re feeling

But that all changes when he sees your self-harm scars

Fear fills him and he knows he can’t just avoid the topic anymore, he doesn’t want to see you in pain or have you harm yourself anymore

So one day when you’re out with him in town, he softly takes your hand and leads you to a bench away from the hustle and bustle of the town

He’s a little cautious, he’s not really good with being direct about his feelings, especially not with you because he gets so nervous and this was serious…he was scared to mess up

“Y’know MC…I may not be the best person to go to about troubling things in your life, but I want ya to know that I’m here for you. I…don’t want to lose you. Actually, I can’t lose you–never. So maybe things are hard for ya right now, but you’re one of the most important people in my life. Your problems are The Great Mammon’s problems as well, so let me in, won’t ya?”

He’s awkwardly rubbing his neck now as he feels his face heating up, but at least he got everything he wanted to say out

So when you do open up to him about your depression, self-harm, and thoughts of taking your own life, he feels relieved that you are finally speaking about it with someone, but he’s also scared that you’ve been feeling that way and he had been trying to ignore it for so long

He’s scared to let you out of his sight after that, so if he shows up to your room at 3am with a spare pillow, you know why

Mammon’s always inviting you to his room as well so you can watch stuff together until you fall asleep

Extra clingy Mammon who’ll probably bug you about how you’re feelings every few minutes, but at least you know someone cares

You’d find all your issues slowly dissolving as he covers you with love and attention, just don’t block him out

Leviathan:

Oh boy, Levi is very overdramatic when he finds out what’s been going on with you

He’s beyond scared to lose you–you’re his only best friend after all, the one who truly understands him and cares for him unconditionally

“I-I’m sorry I didn’t realize MC. I’m such a good-for-nothing. I can’t even tell when the person I care about the most is going through a tough time. Y-you’re amazing MC! You’re one of the best people I know, unlike all these other normies out there. You’re always so kind to me and I just hate that I couldn’t be there for you when you needed me…”

Yeah, he’s definitely beating himself up about it because how could he not realize???

“You’re always here for me, that’s why you’re the only one I felt comfortable telling this to. Please don’t blame yourself…I kinda didn’t want anyone to know at first; I thought I could deal with it on my own…” You’d explain to him

He’s a little relieved to hear it, but it still won’t make him feel any better

Levi is always throwing himself in the ground, so not being there for you at a time when you really needed him AND when he could have potentially lost you, scares him to death

Like Mammon, he keeps you by his side, but in your room since he sleeps in his tub and that’s not very comfortable for you LOL

He’d move all his games and game stations into your room and make a little base there to stay by your side until you’re feeling better

He probably goes to one of his older brothers who are more responsible like Lucifer or Satan and asks for their advice (without giving you away ofc. He’d make it sound like one of his online friends are dealing with this issue since you only trusted him with this info)

He’s very awkward and shy at times, but he’s glad that you trusted him to let him in on the pain you were feeling internally. He makes it his mission (literally, like he’s playing a game, but knowing that it’s far more serious) to get you back on your feet and in a better mental state

And we all know Levi is good at games, so this is one he won’t fail either :)

Satan:

Satan reads a lot, books of all genres, so he picked up on your sudden change in behavior very quickly and he’s actually the one who goes to you first to talk about it

“What’s going on?” He bluntly asks one day when you’re in his room reading with him in a peaceful silence

That catches you off guard…did he know? You could see the serious look on his face so you decide to just open up to him about everything; the depression, the self-harm, and even the thoughts that flash through your mind of taking your own life

Satan listens silently as you speak, taking in all your words and you see his eyes soften the more you reveal to him

“I see…” he’s lost in thought for a moment, but then stands up and walks over to you, taking your hands in his as he leaves a gentle kiss to the back of your hand. “I knew something was up, but I wanted to hear it from you before I assumed too much. I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this way. I’m here though, and now that I know what’s going on, I’ll do anything and everything I can to ensure you feel better.”

And he really will

Whenever you come over to his room to do your daily reading together in each others presence, he spends his time reading books on mental health that give him plenty of advice on how to best help you

He isn’t overbearing though, he gives you your space and allows you to reach out to him whenever you need him, only checking up on you when it seems appropriate so you don’t feel suffocated, but deep down he is worried and scared to lose you

So he offers you his own help, but also asks if you’d like to go to the human world to see or speak to a professional who might be more helpful to you than he could be

He even volunteers to go along with you if you don’t want to go alone–he just wants you to be happy again to not feel so claustrophobic in your own skin

Whatever you decide to do, just know that you have his 10000000% support

Asmodeus:

This man is very dramatic as well, but in a different way than Levi…

He throws tons of compliments your way in hopes that they help lift you up, but really, he’s better at giving physical acts of care

SO, your self-harm scars? He goes out of his way to wash them up and lotion them up, pressing small kisses the the older scars and newer ones as well

“Even with these marks, your skin is still as soft and beautiful as ever, darling. My lovely MC, I’ll do everything I can to take care of you from now on. I’ll pamper you everyday and remind you how much you mean to me, so please don’t harm yourself any longer…”

Asmo isn’t one to be very serious at times, but he knows now isn’t the time to joke around with you, so he’s uncharacteristically very serious, yet still as charming as ever

He’ll treat you to extra tight hugs and kisses, a little scared to let go in fear that he’d never be able to hold you again, so bear with him a little…he can be a bit suffocating

He isn’t the best listener or remarkably great at giving advice that doesn’t have anything to do with fashion or beauty, so he’d probably go to Lucifer for help, or maybe even Solomon, who’s more familiar with human emotions like depression

Anything you need or want, Asmo will get it for you

Get ready to feel more loved than you’ve ever felt before in your life

Barbatos:

He knows…of course he knows, Barbatos knows everything 😀

The first time you attempted to self-harm, he was there to stop you, so you never even got the chance

What he didn’t know about though was your thoughts of attempting to take your life, since you never actually made the move to do it, you only really thought about it

So when he sits down with you to hear you out about attempting to self-harm and you open up about your other darker secrets as well, he’s shocked

Momentarily, it’ll show on his face, but he’ll catch himself and gently smile to you as you continue to speak your mind

He doesn't want you to feel embarrassed by any of this or to beat yourself up for getting caught or for feeling what you feel–you were human and humans experienced moments of intense emotions that they can’t control sometimes, he understood this very well

“Oh dear MC, I am relieved that I was able to stop you this time. Though, I must admit I do feel particularly regretful that I am not able to read minds so I could put your own mind to rest from your dark thoughts. Now that I am aware of everything, I shall do my best to assist you in recovering mentally”

He’s not the most emotional guy out there, but you know he cares for you and when Barbatos dedicates his time and attention to something, he WILL get it done

Barbatos takes your hand in his and presses a delicate kiss onto each of your fingers, and leans his head onto the back of your hand, in almost a way that he’s ready and willing to serve you (not that he didn’t already, but it’s more of like his own way of physically showing his dedication to you??? Does that make sense? KINDA like when a knight is knighted and vows to protect whoever he’s assigned to??? Am I making sense? hopefully…)

He doesn’t need to keep an eye on you because he’d be able to stop you anyway if you ever decided to do anything drastic, but he does free up time in his busy schedule to be with you, he’s dedicated to serving Diavolo, but you very quickly become his number one priority (you already were, but he was never aware of it himself lol)

I don’t know, but I just feel like Barbatos is such a soothing person to be with, his voice is like silk, it wraps you up like a warm blanket and feels like a big tight hug when you need it the most

SO I imagine you’d feel better pretty quickly with all the attention he’s giving you, and the warm tea he makes you????! You’re set for life, get ready to feel brand new

Animal familiars in NRC

So, you know how Master Trein is the only character in the entire school with an animal familiar? (If we don’t count Yuu having Grim)

Welp, I started to think which animal would fit the best for each NRC student along with some headcanons about them, such as:

Familiars have a special magical connection with their respective mages, which is like an invisible bond.

Not every magic user gets a familiar.

Having a familiar is similar to unique magic, they can arrive at any moment and they make your magic stronger.

You don’t need them by your side 24/7.

They can’t talk unless you use magic like the one in Animal Linguistics class.

Think of some of the animal sidekicks of some Disney movies like Cinderella’s mice, Mula’s horse, or better yet, think of the villain’s companions like Maleficient’s crow, Shang Yu’s Falcon, Iago, etc.  

The magical bond allows for things like the animal having a bit of a longer life span (more on that later) and adapting better to other environments.

NRC has measures in place to take care of the familiars and fit things like good living places, health, and diet requirements.

Here are the headcanons! We began with Heartslabyul along with some headcanons of their dynamics with their respective familiar, the other dorms will come in later posts (Savanaclaw and Octavinelle, Scarabia and Pomefiore, Ignihye and Diasomnia)

Riddle: Hedgehog.

I decided to name the little hedgehog Quinte.

Riddle met her as a kid some days after the incident with his mom happened.

He was looking out his window wishing Trey or Che'nya would appear again when he saw something moving in the bushes of his house. Against what he would consider his better judgement he decided to go and check what was there.

That's when he found Quinte! He knew about familiars and he also felt something special when he saw the little hedgehog but at that moment he just wanted to make sure she was going to be okay so he brought her inside and although hesitantly, told his mom.

I honestly think Mrs.Rosehearts wouldn’t have approved of Riddle having a “distraction” but she realized her son had found his familiar so she allowed it. 

In NRC everyone treats Quinte with the same respect they have for Riddle. Quinte legally can’t break any rules.

One time a student confused her for one of the normal hedgehogs the dorm has so he put her in the same place as the others go. 

Cue Riddle desperately looking for his familiar and worried sick for something bad happening to her until he finally found her with the other hedgehogs, cue absolute relief but also a student losing his head for like a week.

I can see Cater getting her a little crown to match Riddle.

Trey: Rat

Hear me out! This works both for an Alice in Wonderland (I know the animal there is a mouse but still) reference AND a Ratatouille one!

Did you know rats are actually pretty clean animals?

I was so tempted to name the rat Remi, but I won’t. I was thinking of the name Peres, let’s call him that for now, but I’m not sure, if you have any ideas let me know.

Yes, Trey’s parents weren’t thrilled when he found his familiar, probably in his mid to late teens. But you can’t do much about it so they made sure Peres was well-cleaned and groomed, also he wasn’t allowed inside their bakery, a bit mean but they couldn’t afford to have customers seeing a rat. 

Once in NRC however, Peres helps Trey in the kitchen with things like getting ingredients or tools. The sub-chef who takes his work seriously.

Say something rude about Peres and your pastries will taste like clams.

Cater: Dog

He was a difficult one, I might change it later

Probably a race like a terrier or a bloodhound, I have no idea why but I think his name would be something like Princess/Prince.

His magic cam is full of photos of his familiar along with cute accesories which his familar uses willingly and like a diva.

I can see him getting the dog right before entering NRC or maybe in his first year.

The dog is lucky because there is always someone taking care of it, either Cater himself or one of his copies.

Deuce: Rabbit

Was planning on giving him a chicken ngl

Deuce loves him with all his heart.

I can see Deuce naming the rabbit something like Carrot, don’t worry, he investigates and soon realizes the appropriate diet for a rabbit.

His mom was so proud.

The two found each other the same week Deuce decided to turn his life around, he took it as a sign he was going in the right direction.

Do anything to scare the rabbit and he will throw hands.

The bunny is very willing to bite and kick. Unfortunately, that also includes some furniture damage.

Also, he brought Carrot with him to the White Rabbit Fest. “Carrot, give me your rabbit wisdom.” “...” “Thank you.”

Ace: Hare

Please help. I have no ideas for the name and I don’t think Ace would call his familiar March.

Yes, he and Deuce see the irony too.

Ace insists his familiar could beat Deuce’s in a fight.

His brother probably teases him for an animal such as a hare but Ace's comeback is that his brother doesn’t even have a familiar yet.

That hare is as teasing as Ace, a nightmare duo. If you find bite marks or missing things you know who is to blame, Ace will insist his familiar is innocent and if it isn’t c’mon is just a cute hare.

If Riddle could he would collar them both.

- he’s used to crying by himself and he knows how painful it is not having someone there when you need them.

meeks:

- after asking, he’d pull you away to a quiet space in case you want to talk or just take a breather

- really good listener and really understanding

- personal hc that he’s the best poet to come to for crying, panic attacks, etc. like he would take the time to learn how to help you and then commit that to memory🥺

knox:

- not the best with words in this situation but he’d offer you a handkerchief and a listening ear if you wanted to talk about it

- if you were crying over someone (in a romantic/brokenhearted sense) he’d probably be like “same�� and share his own experiences bc i feel like he connects by relating

cameron:

- he’d notice you way before he thinks to speed up and he’d hesitate first, okay? he would.

- offering comfort isn’t his strong suit, he doesn’t even really know how to deal with someone who’s feeling really strong emotions

- if the other poets were around he’d probably kind of gesture over at you so one of them talks to you instead

pitts:

- similar to cam, he’s really awkward about helping someone who’s emotional but it’s more obvious here

- would find someone that can check on you immediately. he cares, he just doesn’t know how to show it

charlie:

- charlie’s always been pretty physical so hugging you would be instinctive

- of course, if you’re not the physical type and you push him away or something, he’d put his hands up and respect your wishes

- he’s just used to having friends like neil and he knows how important comfort can be in these situations

todd:

- he’s looking around trying to see if anyone else notices bc if they do he’d gladly let them take care of the situation instead

- he’d be the type to ask “do you want some water?” just because he wants to help but has no idea how

- tbh he’d probably leave i’m sorry😭

thank you! i had to work on valentines day but my coworkers had a little dance party and passed out chocolates and flowers and it was very sweet. anyway here are my thoughts:

anne maria - love her!! she's so fun and deserved better. i feel like i struggle to write her though

b - he also deserved better. trans and deaf king in my heart

brick - i feel like we'd get along irl. also deserved better but it was nice that he was respected for his elim by mike zoey cam

cameron - i wish i liked him more but he annoys me at times. has some great funny moments!

dakota - not a fan of the dakotazoid arc but i enjoyed her before that. i hc her and anne maria as latina and like to think they would chat in spanish while getting ready in the bathroom and sometimes mike (who i hc as latino) will join in (i love spanish-speaking hcs if you can't tell)

dawn - wish we got to see more of her. wish she was eviller. wish she had a proper rivalry with scott.

jo - she's so funny!! i feel like i struggle to write her too. if only i could get a better handle on her and anne maria i would write more jomaria

lightning - at first i thought he was annoying but now ive realized hes so fucking funny i wish he wasn't made a villain though that felt very shoehorned in

mike - pretty neutral, don't have a lot of dislikes when it comes to him but don't have a ton of likes either. i think if there was more time to explore his personality outside of his did i would enjoy him more (i would also love to see more of his alters they're so silly) he needs more screentime to just be mike outside of zoke and his did (but i understand why that didn't happen in a 13 ep season) (also that's not to erase his did i think that's an important part of him but for most of the show it feels like its the ONLY part of him) (this is a lot of description for a character im pretty neutral on. anyways)

sam - another character that annoyed me at first before i realized how delightfully silly he is

scott - funny scheming bastard man. wish we got to see a bit more sympathetic side to him

staci - pretty neutral, there's not much to go off of in canon but ive read some interesting headcanons/reworks of her personality

zoey - hmm. complicated. i would like her more if the narrative didn't overly favor her and could point out when she was being judgmental (and if she actually had growth, i read this great analysis years ago about how zoey as a character never internally changes from her first appearance to her last) it also bugs me how she has all these skills simply to serve the plot with no real explanation (i have a similar problem with julia but that's a post for another day)

I see, I see, so he can selectively remove sounds from the world? If something he doesnt want one person to hear, he can do so.

That's a cool idea, and it would fall into the effects the outside world is being affected, so it would also go outside the small he casts as well. I wonder if there would be a limit to it? Either endurance, passing out, or death for when the slund cam be heard again.

Imagine him being able to effect things on a global scale, so everyone can't hear a certain word, some announcement that would change the world. I bet the Marines would be more protective of his power if that was true.

Gender: I think she’s like masc-presenting fem-aligned non-binary (she/they) but just loosely calls herself a girl because she doesn’t like explaining her gender

Ship: Jomaria return from the war. Also I could see her having some complicated feelings for Heather and Courtney in All Stars

BROTP: Her and Brick aren’t friends in the traditional sense but they really get each other in a way no one else around them does. Also her and Cam, her and Zoey, and her and Mike are all fun duos to me. I’m just a big fan of the Maggots being friends tbh

NOTP: Her and Scott as well as her and Lightning just don’t work as couples to me. I could see them as alliances or even friends but I don’t like them as couples

Random headcanon: She loves big dogs and grew up training them. Their favorites are Dobermans but they also like German Shepards, Pitbulls, and Rottweilers

General opinion: Their dynamics with other characters and their one-liners are iconic, and she was a pretty strong antagonist as well. Her relationship with Brick was one of the highlights of ROTI tbh, and the unexplored issues with her gender presentation and might makes right attitude make her really intriguing. Alas td is bad and therefore the writers never took this seriously and she never really changed in any way or developed any lasting relationships but yk she had some moments

In episode 74 extra scenes we are seeing a camera man using an actual camera - which I think is simply a gag.

But this led to a question, can cameramen change their lenses? Some would be equipped with a wide angle lens, some would be equipped with telephoto - depending on their duty. They can swap their lenses out, but they go temporarily blind while doing so.

And could it be that some cameramen sometimes carry separate cameras to get certain shots or recordings they're not capable of with their main lens?

Good idea, I'm folding that into my headcanon. It would be extra risky to change the lens in a dusty/sandy environment too; you could trap dust inside the camera body.

My assumption was that all Cam recordings are logged, so the hand-held camera is a way of going 'off the record' and taking private photos. Plus, the handheld camera might take nicer quality photos than cutting frames out of a video recording.
