The characteristic doctrines of incarnation, atonement, and resurrection form the heart of Christianity, and these same truths set Christianity apart from all other religions. There can be no other savior, for God is personally, intimately, uniquely, decisively, and eternally disclosed in the person of Jesus Christ. All people everywhere, regardless of culture, race, or religious heritage, must look to him alone for salvation. ~ Samples, Kenneth Richard. ‘Without a Doubt: Answering the 20 Toughest Faith Questions.; p. 177

Five Solae
What are the Five Solas, well lets state them.
Sola Fide (faith alone)
Sola Scriptura(scripture alone)
Sola gratia(Grace alone)
Solus christus(Christ alone)
Sola Deo Gloria(glory to God alone)
So what do these mean and why do they exist? Back before the reformation (Luther and his 95 theses) the church and its doctrines where governed by the Catholic Church and the Pope. so the Catholic church has the Bible but it also has its Canon Law and the some other non biblical doctrines Such as Purgatory and Indulgences.
These extra things came about because of the Pope being able to add to the Cannon Law and various other things without referring back to the bible.so when the Reformation came, a new set of founding principles had to be stated en-order to separate the Protestant movement from the Catholic movement, thus we have the Five Solas.
so these five points of principle state what we base our creed on in protestant world.
We are saved by faith alone and no amount of good works can save you without faith.
Romans 1:16 NIV
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[f]
The Bible is the one source of Scripture we use and is the source of all our doctrine.
2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
“16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
Grace alone is responsible for allowing you to choose god and salvation and it is not possible to choose with out grace due to our sinful nature, we are no long under the law.
John 1:17
“For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. “
Christ alone is the only way to god, praying to saints or Mary will not allow you to speak to god and serves no purpose.
John 14:6 New International Version (NIV)
“6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
God Alone is to be Glorified, no being dead or alive is to be set above God
Revelation 15:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 Who will not fear you, Lord,    and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come    and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

The anons keep asking so let’s clear this up:
Sola Gratia; Sola Fide; Solus Christus; Sola Scriptura; Soli Deo Gloria. 5-point Calvinist, reformed, covenantal, paedobaptist, a-millennial, cessationist who rejects antinomianism, theonomy, transubstantiation, and molinism. The Trinity is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is God. The Bible is the word of God. The canon is closed. There’s 66 books in the Bible. Mary was a sinner who had other children. God is holy. God is sovereign. Also, The Chosen is dumb at best and heretical at worst.

Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Gratia, Soli Deo Gloria! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another one of these important posts, hoping it reaches the people here.
"Times have changed over the last 500+ years, but some basic challenges never change. Also, God’s Word never changes. The gospel never changes. But the culture has changed.
When Martin Luther nailed those 95 theses on the Castle Church in Wittenberg (Germany) 500 years ago, on October 31, 1517, what questions might people have asked him?
Do you think anyone came up to him and asked, “Dr. Luther, it’s all very well and good to nail these theses on the church door. But explain how you can trust the Bible when carbon dating gives dates that contradict its genealogies”? Or, “did dinosaurs go on Noah’s Ark?”
Well, of course no one asked him such questions. Carbon dating was invented over 400 years later, in the 1900s. Similarly, he wouldn’t have been asked about dinosaurs (a term invented in 1841), Lucy (discovered in 1974), the big bang (coined in 1949), Charles Darwin (born in 1809), and so on.
Martin Luther was dealing with a different set of questions, which he understood as attacks on the authority of God’s Word in his era. He was confronting people who were using man’s fallible ideas and imposing them on the unchanging, infallible Word of God.
It was an authority issue. Who is the ultimate authority? God or man? This is the battle that began in Genesis three and has been raging ever since. The battle doesn’t change but it does manifest in different ways in different eras.
What Martin Luther boldly accomplished was to start a movement to challenge the church to return to the authority of God’s Word. He specifically was defending justification by faith. And so out of the Reformation came the cry for Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone.
Actually five solas (Latin phrases) came out of the Reformation. Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”) means the Bible alone is our highest authority. The other solas were Sola Fide (“faith alone”), Sola Gratia (“grace alone”), Solus Christus (“Christ alone”), and Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”).
I’ve often said that the ministry of Answers in Genesis is helping to ignite a New Reformation. This stresses the first sola—Sola Scriptura. In fact, God warns us that Sola Scriptura is the focus of the devil’s ongoing attacks on God’s Word in every generation. Second Corinthians 11:3 warns: “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
In other words, the devil will use the same method on us that he used on Eve to get people to not believe the Word of God.
So what method did he use on Eve? We read about it in Genesis 3:1: “He said to the woman, ‘Did God actually say . . . ?’” Another translation puts it this way: “Did God really say?” Notice the first attack was on the authority of the Word of God, to get Adam and Eve to doubt and disbelieve God’s word.
The warning then is that the devil will attack the authority of God’s Word by creating doubt in his Word, which in the end can lead to unbelief. I call this the Genesis 3 attack. That attack has never let up; it never changes. But what does change is how the attack manifests itself.
Down through the ages believers have dealt with various attacks on God’s Word. For example, the early church faced attacks on the deity of Christ, Martin Luther’s era faced attacks on justification by faith, and the Enlightenment period of the 1800s faced attacks on Christ’s bodily resurrection.
But what is the main “Genesis 3 attack” today? I suggest the teaching of evolution/millions of years, based on naturalism (atheism), that permeates the culture and church. Evolution is really the pagan religion of this age, which secularists push as their justification for rejecting God and his Word.
Compromise with this pagan religion is a major reason the church is losing so many in the current and coming generations. It’s also a major reason our once-Christianized West is becoming less Christian every day, at least from a worldview perspective.
Today’s Genesis 3 attack has resulted in a loss of respect for the Bible’s authority. So many in the church no longer believe God’s Word in Genesis because they believe evolutionary ideas. As a result, the culture doesn’t see why they should trust the Bible on anything it speaks about. And so many Christians don’t really understand what they believe and why and don’t know how to defend the Christian faith.
Thus, this attack on Genesis’ creation account opened the door for coming generations to reject biblical authority. As a result many people are careening down a slippery slide of doubt and unbelief, resulting in a generational loss from the church, and a very secularized worldview permeating the church and culture.
That’s why I believe we need a new Reformation. We need (symbolically of course) people across this nation and the world nailing Genesis 1–11 on doors of churches and Christian institutions to call God’s people back to the authority of God’s Word beginning in Genesis. We need to question what’s being taught and hold the teachers accountable. We need to shut the door of compromise in Genesis, or we will continue to see the church’s impact on the culture lessening and the culture’s impact on the church increasing!
Sadly, most churches (not all of course), and most Christian colleges, seminaries and bible colleges have been impacted by the religion of naturalism by compromising Genesis with evolution and/or millions of years.
Yes, once again we need to be proclaiming Sola Scriptura in our generation, and confront the rampant compromise in the church, which makes man’s fallible ideas (evolution/millions of years) the authority over God’s infallible Word.
“Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?” (Isaiah 2:22).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6)." - by ken ham

Luke 8:40-56: "Who Touched Me?"
========
Luke 8:40-56: "Who Touched Me?"
Martin Luther nails his "95 Theses" to the church door in Wittenberg on October 31, 1517
Solus Christus- Christ Alone- He is the Mediator- No man, priest, or church
1 Timothy 2:5 ESV
[5] For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
That is Luke's point behind the signs we will see today. We see two people who needed Jesus and we hear the good news that his invitation extends to them and us.
Matthew 11:28 ESV
[28] Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Luke 8:40-56 ESV
[40] Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. [41] And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored him to come to his house, [42] for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. [43] And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone. [44] She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased. [45] And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” [46] But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.” [47] And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. [48] And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.” [49] While he was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.” [50] But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” [51] And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except Peter and John and James, and the father and mother of the child. [52] And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.” [53] And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. [54] But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.” [55] And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. [56] And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.
Everyone Needs Jesus (vv.40-43)
Luke 8:40 ESV
[40] Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.
"Now"- A continuation- Jesus' authority over the natural- Jesus' authority over the supernaturalNow we see Jesus' authority over the "unclean."The crowds rush in, everyone waiting to see Jesus.
Luke 8:41 ESV
[41] And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored him to come to his house,
"Ruler of the synagogue"- Powerful, influential"Falling at Jesus' feet"- He humbles himself.- In desparation
Luke 8:41-42 ESV
[41] And there came a man named Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he implored him to come to his house, [42] for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him.
Following the normal course of events, Jesus would touch, heal, and that would be the end.
Luke 8:42-43 ESV
[42] for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. As Jesus went, the people pressed around him. [43] And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone.
"Pressed in"- "Choked"- Everyone thronging around Jesus- Suffocating crowdsLuke singles out this woman.- "With a discharge of blood..."- Living under the weight of the LawShe is "unclean."- What/ who she touches is unclean.- Lives in isolation and lonelinessCould these two be more different?Jairus- Ruler of the Synagogue- Wealthy, holy, cleanThis woman- Spent all her money- Unclean, aloneThis woman has dealt with her problem as long as Jairus' daughter has been alive.Young, old, rich, poor, with a 12-year-long need or a sudden pressing need... everyone needs Jesus. Luke intertwines these stories to show that.- One need- Jesus- One invitation- "Come!"- One condition- "Humility"
What's In a Touch? (vv.44-46, 49-54)These two are also united in this touch from Jesus.- Not necessary (Centurion)- Luke fronts the touch here. Why?
Luke 8:44-45 ESV
[44] She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased. [45] And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”
The woman fights her way through the choking crowds. In desparation she reaches out to touch whatever she can grab... and it was enough.Jesus was not ignorant of who touched him. He wants to single the woman out for a reason. Will Jesus scold? Reprimand?Declare her "unclean"?
In all of this commotion, Jesus has been stalled from the original need.
Luke 8:49-53 ESV
[49] While he was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.” [50] But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” [51] And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except Peter and John and James, and the father and mother of the child. [52] And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.” [53] And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.
We are reminded of Lazarus.- Jesus was 4 days late!- There was nothing to do.- "Show me... roll away the stone."
John 11:40 ESV
[40] Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”
In all of this death, disease, uncleanness, and impurity... how will we see the glory of God?
Luke 8:54 ESV
[54] But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.”
With a touch- This is defiling (Lev. 21; Num. 19)- Except for the closest family- Why touch her?
Luke 8:46 ESV
[46] But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”
"Power went out..."In the Levitical system, that which is clean is made unclean when touched by something that is unclean or defiled.
Haggai 2:11-14 ESV
[11] “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests about the law: [12] ‘If someone carries holy meat in the fold of his garment and touches with his fold bread or stew or wine or oil or any kind of food, does it become holy?’” The priests answered and said, “No.” [13] Then Haggai said, “If someone who is unclean by contact with a dead body touches any of these, does it become unclean?” The priests answered and said, “It does become unclean.” [14] Then Haggai answered and said, “So is it with this people, and with this nation before me, declares the Lord, and so with every work of their hands. And what they offer there is unclean.
The transfer isn't that unclean things are made clean by being touched by clean things. The transfer is that clean things are made unclean by being touched by unclean things. That is unless there is purification, atonement, sacrifice... blood. The transfer is reversed here.- Jesus isn't defiled.- Power goes out from him.- He makes them clean!Jesus reverses the curse!- Not merely because he is clean.- But because he is our atonement.
There is power in the touch of Jesus!- Press through.- By any means- Touch... even the "fringe."- Fall down in humility.- Reach out and touch. We see that it was Jesus who was reaching out to us saying, "arise."
Ultimate Healing (vv.47-48, 55-56)Jesus singled the woman out for this.
Luke 8:47-48 ESV
[47] And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. [48] And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
The touch of faith- Reaching to Jesus- Humble before Jesus- This is saving faith. This is how we are made the "sons" and "daughters" of God and know his "peace."This is resurrection faith.
Luke 8:55 ESV
[55] And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat.
With a curious command
Luke 8:56 ESV
[56] And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened.
Why?- There is more to come.- This is not the final goal.- Jesus is headed somewhere.- More blood... more deathThis shows us that ultimate healing isn't physical... even in raising the dead (resuscitation) because the ultimate problem isn't physical impurity, sickness, disease, or even death. The ultimate defilement is that of the human heart in sin and the ultimate healing is in the cleansing, atoning death of the Lamb.
1 John 1:7 ESV
[7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 Peter 1:19 ESV
[19] but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
Revelation 12:11 ESV
[11] And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Revelation 12:11 ESV
[11] And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
