HUGE NEWS!

In 2020, Elsa Sjunneson became the first blind writer to work on Daredevil when she included a Matt Murdock cameo in the audio serial Jessica Jones: Playing With Fire. Now, finally, she is getting to write the actual comic, at least for one issue, hopefully opening the doors for more DD work in the future!

Here is the solicitation for Daredevil volume 8 #8, which is slated for publication in April:

"A dragnet is closing around Matt Murdock, A.K.A. DAREDEVIL! Police on both sides of the law are hunting him, something vicious with a deep connection to Matt’s very soul is hunting his friends and, in the midst of that chaos, an old foe with the blood of Matt’s closest allies on his hands returns…"

The writing credits for the issue are "Saladin Ahmed & more", so presumably, Sjunneson is included in "& more". April cannot get here fast enough, as far as I'm concerned. I'm very excited, for her and for the comic as a whole, which has gone far too long without input from blind/visually impaired creators.

I didn’t want to have to ask this but…

Spotify has changed their rules, and now unless a song can get over 1000 streams in a 365 day period, they won’t pay the artist for that song. At all.

My songs have been sitting at around 700 streams per year, but now Spotify won’t pay me for any of those.

If each of my followers (except for the bots) listens to my songs just once, it would be enough to get me over the payment threshold and Spotify will start giving me the royalties they owe me.

Happy New York Comic Con weekend to all who celebrate! (My feet are so tired...) Big news today on the Daredevil front: Charles Soule will be returning to write a three-issue miniseries called Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell alongside veteran Marvel artist Steve McNiven. The synopsis:

Years into the future, a powerless Matt Murdock is no longer Daredevil, but he’s still the Man Without Fear! Doing whatever he can to help those in need in a city broken beyond repair, he’ll finally be able take the fight to where it matters most when something catastrophic happens causing his powers to miraculously return. With no one by his side, Daredevil has little chance against the evil permeating every corner until Captain America entrusts him with a mission to safeguard the world’s only hope…

As I mentioned recently, I'm always interested in seeing different creative teams' visions of Matt's future, so I'm pretty psyched for this. Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell will be launching in April 2025.
