Solangelo fanfiction idea: I did not mean to say that but anyway

Will could barely keep his eyes away from Nico. He had taken his boyfriend with him to meet the family and everything went great so far. The adults liked him as he was sweet and respectful and the kids adored him and apperantly declaired him their new hero. Nico had come out of his shell quit a bit since they had started dating months ago and everyday Will fell a bit more in love with the son of Hades. Nico was just amazing and Will wanted to spend every day of his life with him.

They had a tradition that after dinner they would sit down and say what they were thankful for or what they loved about each other. So things like: I love that you are there for me or I am gradefull for how hard you work on something and so one. Will had written an entire list of things he loved about Nico but when it was his turn to speak, he turned to Nico and none of the words he had thought about and carefully formulated came out of his mouth, he had repeaded them a duzen times in his mind but when he opened his mouth out came the words: "Will you marry me?"

He had no idea where these words even came from, he hadn't planned on proposing to Nico, at least not for a long time. Damn he was barely 16 and Nico even younger. Everyone had stilled and stared in silent shock and horror at Will. The demigod knew he should say something, try to take the words back but could not bring himself to do it, instead he heard himself ask again: "Will you marry me Nico?"

No one was more suprised then him when the silents was broken by a quiet "yes"

will (before studying for med) would constantly urge nico to improve his mental health. now nico teases will because the roles are reversed.

when will gets into med school, nico takes will out to eat at his favourite mexican restaurant.

will solace is a swiftie. but he's selective about the songs he listens to. like?? this man is going to be YELLING to tolerate it and right where you left me and nico is all like 'what are you on about'

but ofc nico is such a lil nas x fan (canon??) and will teases him about it. neeks also tried jojo siwa but was cringing after watching karma.

so uh. marriage.

they wait till their late thirties to get married. and nico totally proposed.

see nico has been waiting to call will his husband forever and godammit, will was taking too long, so he got a fresh pressed suit, a nice ring, and a nice place to propose.

will is SHOCKED. he says yes ofc but he did NOT except nico to do it at the time he did.

hades and apollo were delighted. hades left thanatos incharge while he attended the wedding (ahem big mistake)

apollo was soo proud and constantly teased will for liking an emo dude and will is like dad. your ex is a fucking flower.

apollo dramatically sobs.

so apollo comes in this suuuper hot god form to the wedding hoping to find someone but all the guest guys were in established relationships and the women were straight.

the enbies and people of other genders were not impressed by apollo.

they dont adopt kids for a whileeeeee. but they do and its this five year old and he warms up to them pretty quickly.

So, I have this cute headcannon, that the merfolk of pjo propose by giving pearl jewelry with charms, and the use plain pearl jewelry as promise rings, and since the sun and the star is coming out next week, i was wondering if i could do a poly!solangelo x child of poseidon!reader, where reader was born with the ability to turn into a merperson and loves to just hoard jewelry, and their close with solangelo, but not dating yet, so when they gift reader a pearl bracelet with charms, reader just turns red and runs away, later solangelo are just being sad since reader ran away and they think they hate them, then they bumped into percy and annabeth who explains to them what it means to that after they told the two what they did, and when solangelo confronts reader about it, they confirm what annabeth and percy said was true, so solangelo take it as an opportunity to ask reader to join their relationship? sorry if its too long!!!!

((I unfortunately don't know a lot about Will just that he's a son of Apollo, sunshine character and is dating Nico but I tried my best with what I have read so far! 😅 I also got a little carried away with writing this!))

-Nico and Will were your best friends, you had gotten really close to them over the years and became more open with them. It didn’t take them long to see your love for jewelry and shiny things. Nico decided to start calling you a crow because of it. Will would smack his arm every time he called you that but with your promise that you didn’t mind Will gave in and allowed it. 

-It was just a normal bright and sunny day at camp half-blood, you were enjoying a nice walk along the beach just basking in the sun. “Hey crow, we got something for you.” Nico calls as he makes his way over. 

-Nico looked tired as ever but Will had a grin that shined brighter than the sun itself as he held up a pearl bracelet. “Tada~” he says proudly, waiting for your reaction. Your breath catches in your throat and you feel your cheeks heat up, it was hard to tell if it was because you weren’t breathing or if you were blushing. Maybe a mix of both. -”You… Ok?” Nico hesitantly asks, seeing your reaction. You quickly run and dive into the lake to avoid the confrontation, leaving the two of them alone, confused and a little hurt. You knew they didn’t know better, how would they have any idea about merfolk customs? You groan and hug your tail letting yourself sink to the bottom of the lake. -It takes some time and talking but Will and Nico agree to talk to Percy about what had happened. He was your brother after all, he must have some idea why you reacted that way… Sure enough Percy grimaces as they finish up the story looking at Annabeth who sighs heavily, she rubs her forehead in annoyance hearing the two boys think that you hate them. “Men…” she complains to herself.

-”Well… To put it simply… In merfolk culture pearl jewelry is… Is like a promise ring.” Percy explains simply. Both boys tense up looking at each other in surprise at the news. They… had talked about adding you to their relationship but had no idea it would happen like this. Will looks to Nico for reassurance who takes his hand giving him a little nod. 

-”Alright… Thanks Percy, We should go talk to them…” Will says and letting out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “You better not hurt my sibling.” Percy warns playfully but waves them off as they go. 

-Sure enough they find you at the beach watching the sunset. Seeing the two boys approach you get ready to jump back into the water but Nico speaks up quickly. “Wait. Just… Wait. Please…?” he pleads with you, taking you by surprise so you hesitate. “What…” you ask softly, staring at the ground instead of them.

-”We talked to Percy… Is… Is it true that in Merfolk culture you give pearl jewelry as a promise ring?” Will asks curiously as he sits down beside you, Nico sitting on the other side. It made you feel a bit better that they were watching the sunset instead of just staring at you. 

-”Yes… that’s true… And… You’d give someone pearl jewelry with charms on it to ask them to marry you.” you explain looking at the ground waiting for them to apologize and say they didn’t mean it like that. You figured that was what was going to happen anyway but you were still dreading every second.  

-”Crow.” Nico says getting your attention and when you look over at him he takes your hand, slipping on the pearl bracelet over your wrist. You blink in surprise feeling your cheeks heat up. “But…” you try to explain. “We know. We’d… Love for you to join our relationship if you’d have us…” You can’t help the happy tears you feel welling up in your eyes as you hug the both of them. Will laughs happily and hugs you back while Nico just huffs fondly. “Of course I will!”

Will smiled. He had told his siblings about his intentions to propose, and obviously Hazel, but he had been debating whether or not to tell his dad too. He was afraid that after reascending to godhood, Apollo would gradually revert back to his old ways. But he didn’t. He was actively making an effort to stay involved in the lives of his children, to the point where he had appeared the second after Will muttered a prayer of his name.

“Thanks, Dad.”

“Of course,” Apollo winked. “Now go and put a ring on it.”

“…please never say that again.”

Solangelo had a bitter break up and all of a sudden Nico is eating a lot of apples whenever he has to be around Will. (An apple a day keeps the doctor away) (Nico tries to avoid him but it’s a small camp)

Then Nico starts dating Apollo and he stops eating them as much because he’s throwing a lot of them at Apollo (at one point in Ancient Greece throwing an apple at someone was like a marriage proposal).

Nipollo date for so many years (Nico’s 30 something now) that eventually Apollo and Hades decide to make him immortal so he can update his underworld status and also so he can marry Apollo like he’s been asking to for so many years.

And because Will is somehow still Apollos favorite child he is invited to his fathers and ex boyfriends wedding. Nico kinda didn’t want to invite him but he decided to be the bigger person and be mature about it.

Will is not as big of an asshole as he used to be at that point and he ends up getting along ok with Nico and they still had a friendly rivalry and made jokes about how they dated for five minutes when they were kids. Apollo was happy they got along.

Apollo was not happy that Nicos stepmother Persephone kept jokingly threatening to turn his husband into a flower again. Too many of his loved ones had been turned into flowers. He promised he wouldn’t let that happen with Nico.

Hades was just happy that he got to see not one but two of his children have real happy endings when in the past that had been incomprehensible. He’s so proud and happy for his kids.

Hazel was elated for him and Frank was kinda just there along for the ride with Hazel. Nico jokes about being the flower boy at Frazels wedding a couple years prior. Frank seemed slightly uncomfortable about that but laughed it off. Hazel thinks their friendship is hilarious.

Zeus showed up for 10 minutes. He said he was happy that Apollo found someone to settle down with even tho he wasn’t too happy with whom that someone is. Hades glared at him and was prepared to put a shadow forcefield over his children and their spouses just in case. But Zeus decided he didn’t care enough to fight about it just congratulated Apollo and ate a bunch of cake and wine and left.

As soon as he’s gone everybody breathes a sigh of relief and the party resumes as if he was never there and all is good in the world.

Persephone does actually turn Nico into a flower for a few moments while Apollo cries and begs her to turn him back. Everyone laughs at him for moment but decides they don’t want to be too cruel to him on his wedding day so Persephone turns Nico back into his godly form. Apollo rejoices and Nico comforts him and explains that he was in on the flower joke. Apollo feels betrayed. How dare he. His own husband. On their wedding day. How dare he. (Apollo gets revenge later that night lol).

Happily ever after.

since the ideas I come up with at times of night in which I should be deep in slumber (as evidenced by hhnah) seem to be my best, I shall propose this poll:

I plan on writing a majority of these; all the PJO ones are WIP and taking up my google storage, but I'm unsure which one I should focus on for my 'coming back'. I also, evidently, have fallen into the world of dead gay wizards, and would enjoy a foray into that world (fuck JKR, though).

So, many of you liked that Solangelo post so I've decided out of the kindness of my heart to give you the lists of details on Will that I like the most:

•The braid is both a reference to Star Wars and the fruits of a headcanon of mine that I like. I headcanoned that Lee, once he learned that Will was a Star Wars nerd, made that braid for Will who never took it off, especially after the Battle of Manhattan. The only time where Will didn't had the braid anymore was a couple of months after the Gaea war. The hair tie snapped while Will was busy in the infermary and didn't noticed until later in the day when Kayla pointed it out. Obviously, after realising, Will broke down because that was something physical that helped him remember his old siblings that didn't survived. Luckily (or casually idk) Nico was also there and offered Will to remake the braid. Now, the braid hold more value because, yes, it was a way to remember the old Apollo campers, but now it holds an higher value because Nico remade it.

•The shawl in the drawing is from my version of the Hades AU where Persephone, once she learned that Nico proposed to Will, she decided to fabricate it herself as a welcoming gift for Will because he (in hers and Hades' mind) was now part of the family

•It's not visibile in both Will and Nico but they share a pair of Nico's earrings (Yes, Nico has earrings, live with it). Will has the left one and Nico has the right one

•Still in the Hades AU, Nico once asked Hazel for some crystals, for then after Leo to craft a small necklace out of them. Nico later gifted the said necklace to Will while Nico was still courting the doctor.
