Pirate Socks

I only needed to weave in the yarn ends of these pirate socks. I weave them diagonally into the stockinette, which doesn’t seem to affect the stretchiness of the fabric or show on the right side. I haven’t knit a pair of these in years, so I promptly cast on another pair!

I tried to start this sock a couple years ago and made it too big. My second time I made it too pointy. I'm frogging it again and hope the third times the charm.

Time for uninterrupted stripes and seamless knitting in the round. The No Heel Turn Sock Pattern is finally written up. (Please excuse the makeshift cardboard sock blockers...)

This sock knitting pattern does not require to work a heel-flap and there is no need to pick up stitches.

The heel in this pattern is created simply by working increases, followed by an equal number of decreases.

If you are able to knit on double-pointed needles in the round, you are confident to work k2tog and ssk decreases, and you have toyed with the idea of getting into sock knitting, this pattern will be a beginner-friendly entry into the wonderful world of top-down vanilla socks.

I know how to knit btw. But it want to learn how to weav and spin yearn. But crochet can go fuck it self. I have no hate to ppl how crochet I respect your work. But I have tried and made stuff by crocheting, a bag. But I cannot learn anything different.

I had to try the Hermione's Everyday Socks pattern at some point. Just to see if it really is as good as everyone says. And yeah, it definitely is. Super nice fit. The pattern repeat is short enough that you just wanna knit one-more-row. And the instructions are very clear. But oh my was it weird to knit from the cuff down. I haven't done that in years. It's probably still not my go to. But if I ever have a variegated yarn again, I'll probably consider this pattern, because it does fit very nice with the color changes. Pirate Socks

My first new knitting project for 2025 is a pair of pirate (scrappy) socks. Piecing together the best of past socks seems an appropriate choice.

Finished the socks.

The After Thought heel isn't as difficult as i thought, although cutting into your knitting is always a bit nerve wrecking, honestly.

It is not the best fitting heel, but those are just some scrappy socks to wear at home.

I managed to make them different, the first heel is a bit to far up, which makes the length of the foot a bit too long...the other one fits quite nice.

I also made the bind-off on the cuff again, this time with a stretchy bind-off.
