Breaking Free: Choosing Clarity Over Chaos in the Social Media Maze
Tumblr media
As I work on transitioning away from Facebook, I’ve been exploring various social media platforms to figure out what works best for me. I’ve joined several apps to see which one aligns with my needs. Taking a break from Facebook these past few days has brought a surprising sense of sanity—I’m no longer bombarded with content Facebook thinks I want to see. This isn’t about politics or religion; it’s about stepping away from the “machine”—or maybe just switching to a different one. However, this shift has given me a better sense of control over what I see, and I feel more authentic in the process.
Platforms like Bluesky, Truth, and X seem no different from Facebook—they’re filled with political noise that fuels hatred and division. In contrast, Tumblr and TikTok adapt to my actions, showing posts based on what I like and share. LinkedIn is refreshingly business-oriented and appeals to the professional side of me, while Pinterest feels like the perfect space for the real me. On Pinterest, even though I can’t control who follows me, I can create private boards and share them only with those I choose.
Ultimately, social media has distracted me from maintaining meaningful connections with those closest to me. The best way to share personal updates is within a small, trusted circle. Depending on where you fit in my circle, you can decide which platform is the best way to connect with me. There’s more to the world than Facebook, and I encourage you to explore alternatives.
Through this journey, I’ve also discovered new things about my Facebook friends. Many are incredibly talented musicians, artists, and writers, while others run small businesses that don’t get the recognition they deserve on Facebook. Unfortunately, posts like this one may not get much visibility because, once again, Facebook controls what’s seen.
Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Change is created by choice.

This excessive screen time not only hampers productivity but also affects our sleep patterns. The blue light emitted by screens interferes with our circadian rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep and stay asleep, which can have long-term health consequences.

Why hire a social media manager?
Hiring a social media manager can be a strategic move for several reasons:
1. Expertise: Social media managers are often well-versed in the nuances of various platforms. They understand the algorithms, best practices, and trends, allowing them to create engaging content and drive results.
2. Time-saving: Managing social media accounts can be time-consuming. A dedicated social media manager can handle tasks such as content creation, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments, freeing up time for other aspects of the business.
3. Consistency: Maintaining a consistent presence on social media is key to building a strong online presence. A social media manager can ensure that content is posted regularly and aligns with the brand's voice and messaging.
4. Audience engagement: Social media managers are skilled at fostering engagement with followers through likes, comments, and shares. They can also respond to inquiries and feedback promptly, helping to build a loyal community around the brand.
5. Analytics and optimization: Social media managers can analyze data and metrics to track the performance of posts and campaigns. They use this information to optimize strategies, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve results.
6. Crisis management: In the event of a social media crisis or negative feedback, a social media manager can respond quickly and effectively, minimizing damage to the brand's reputation.
Overall, hiring a social media manager can be a worthwhile investment for businesses looking to strengthen their online presence, connect with their audience, and achieve their marketing goals effectively.

…. Hello 🫣 From tattoos by my favourite artist, kind and vulnerable words that leave me emotional, my seriously handsome partner in life (still pinching myself), my best friends near & far (also pinching myself because how did I get so lucky!?), and the many face & hair masks at the end of cry sesh’s… the past 3 months have been hard yet beautiful because of the love around me & within myself. I had to let go & move forward. My breakdowns became my breakthroughs. I said hello to deep and beautiful experiences then said goodbye with a heavy heart. I opened some new doors and while some remain open, I had to close one that has left me breathless. I’m basking in some new and exciting achievements, and also sitting with a heavy heart. Nonetheless, to feel it all is to be fully alive and human. I’m excited to be back 🤍 I’ve missed you guys. 🏷️ #mentalhealth #socialmediadetox #health #creator #instagood #trending #lifestyle #inspiration #positive #itsokaynottobeokay #anxiety #depression #adhd #joy #motivational #motivationalquotes #relationshipgoals #friendshipgoals #proud #canada #podcast #spotify #reels #reelsinstagram #instagram #gym #therapy https://www.instagram.com/p/CldFLGBrdb0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
