Therefore, since he's not in any danger, and Wesker for some reason seems to kind of enjoy his company (find him amusing?) So Gavin allows himself for more prying and (stupid/personal) questions. He's carefree and quite straightforward, also finds Wesker hot, and isn't ashamed to admit it. Usually bold when comes to flirting, however, Albert is an intimidating guy and will easily make Gavin back off and curl if he wants to.

Wesker looked over his shoulder to see Gavin trailing behind him, his eyes scanning the dark corners of the lab. "You're not going to find anything interesting there," Wesker said while organizing some reports. 

He shrugged. "I'm just trying to pass the time. Your hideout is pretty boring, you know?"

Wesker suppressed a sigh. Gavin had been here for a few days now, and his constant chatter and curiosity were starting to wear on him. But he wasn't a threat, and Wesker didn't want to be cruel to him. "I'm sorry we can't provide more entertainment for you.” 

He grinned. "Nah, I'm not complaining. At least I have someone to talk to." He nudged his arm. “Besides, maybe I’ll find something interesting by the time Chris comes to my rescue.” 

Wesker remained silent. He could feel the younger one becoming a little anxious. 

“He is coming, right?” 

The worry was clear in his voice, and he began to walk aimlessly around the lab with his arms crossed to his chest. 

“I know him well, so he should be here any minute now. Why do you ask, though? I thought you enjoyed my company.”

Wesker liked the little chuckle that escaped Gavin’s lips, so when he finished organizing his papers, he turned to watch the man who was now leaning on the wall. 

“I do, but speaking of which, how come you never talk about yourself? What's your deal?"

He raised an eyebrow. "My deal'?"

He shrugged. "You know, your backstory. What made you the way you are. What are your hopes and dreams.” He dramatically waved his arm in the air. "And most importantly, are you single?” He grinned.

Wesker sighed and rubbed his forehead. This was exactly what he didn't want to deal with. Gavin's flirtatious lines were amusing, but they were too much sometimes. "I don't think that's any of your business," he said coldly.

He pouted. "Aw, come on. I'm just trying to get to know you better."

“I don't want to get known better.” he said firmly. “And besides, how will that be of any use to you.”

“Maybe I’m just interested in you as a person?” Gavin's smile faded a little, and he felt a twinge of guilt. He was just trying to pass the time, and Wesker was shutting him down. Maybe he could indulge him a little. "Fine," he said with a sigh. "I'll answer one question. What do you want to know?"

He brightened. "Okay, let me think." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Hmm...oh, I know. What's your biggest fear?"

Wesker raised an eyebrow. "My biggest fear?"

He nodded, looking genuinely interested. "Yeah. Everyone has one, right? Even badass supervillains like you."

He hesitated. Wesker wasn't used to revealing his vulnerabilities, especially not to someone like Gavin. But something about the way he was looking at him made him want to open up, just a little. "I suppose my biggest fear is...failure," he admitted.

Gavin's expression softened. "That's understandable. But you know, even if you do fail, it doesn't mean you're a failure. You can always try again."

He snorted. "How very motivational of you."

He grinned. "Hey, I'm full of surprises."

Wesker rolled his eyes but couldn't help feeling a small twinge of amusement. Gavin was an odd one, that's for sure. But there was something endearing about his carefree attitude and willingness to poke fun at him. Maybe he could tolerate him for a little while longer.

Gavin was slowly becoming a better company with each passing day. Wesker got used to his flirtatious and curious nature, and he indulged more and more in his style. From the moment he kidnapped him, he knew that their relationship wouldn’t be the usual “captor-victim” one, especially since he was no threat to him. He was just a tech guy who was friends with Chris. He didn’t like violence either, so he just waited patiently to be rescued, while trying to get to know Wesker better. 

Even if the supervillain didn’t want to admit it, he liked his carefree attitude. It’s just that Wesker had so many things to deal with and so much stress, and when Gavin would ask his usual silly question, he’d make Wesker feel better. The conversations with him were so relaxing and smooth that it made Wesker wish Chris would take longer. There were moments when he’d get annoyed and push Gavin away.

“Why do you wear sunglasses indoors? Shouldn’t you be able to see in the dark?” The man asked cursorily and with a hint of amusement. Wesker was typing fast at the computer, so fast that Gavin was unable to see his fingers tapping the keys; he just heard the sound. 

“Don’t you have some servers to fix?” Wesker asked, annoyed. 

“Yeah, I do.” Gavin said as he was supporting his head on his fist. “I’ll come back when you’re in the mood. Probably after you finish your work.” With that, he stood up and minded his business. 

To prevent the younger man from getting bored, Wesker gave him some tasks to do daily. However, Gavin was very smart and would finish them in no time, forcing him to return to Albert. He would follow the villain everywhere he went, asking if he needed help and occasionally flirting with him. 

“You still didn’t answer my question.” Gavin said with a smirk as he returned. The pile of documents on Albert’s desk had increased visibly by the time he came back. He started to feel a little sorry for him. 

Wesker sighed “Let’s just say I got used to wearing sunglasses indoors now, and you please remain silent for one minute so I can finish my work?” 

“You never finish your work, Al. In fact, you are not even close to finishing it. Every time you say you will, another ten problems come your way that need to be fixed. Jeez, after watching your routine, I’m glad I didn’t become a villain.” 

Wesker stopped typing as a chuckle escaped his lips. Gavin had heard him laugh before, but not like that. This one was…genuine, so natural that it made Gavin stare dreamily at the older man. 

“Well, there are some downsides, but you overlook the benefits here.”

“Like what?” 

Wesker turned his head to look at Gavin. He noticed the dreamy stare that he had, which boosted his ego a little, and continued with the conversation. 

“Like money, power;” 

Gavin rolled his eyes. “Ah yeah, the villain cliche. Do you think I can become one if I desire only a carefree life without world dominance?” 

Wesker chuckled again, this time a little louder, making Gavin feel some intense things he should feel given the kind of person Wesker is. 

As he watched him, he noticed a blurry shade of red glimmering behind his sunglasses; thus, a certain curiosity began to grow inside him.

“Can I see them?” Gavin asked in a serious tone. He didn’t know if his Wesker would approve his request, but he wanted to try. That’s the beauty of him—no matter how impossible things seem, he always tries.

“See what?” Wesker replied, knowing what he meant but wanting to stall time to think if it should agree or not. 

“Your eyes.”

There was silence in the room, and the two men just stared at each other. Seeing that Wesker didn’t say anything, Gavin shyly extended his arm forward, his finger dangling in the air. When he was about to grab the handle, Wesker slapped his hand away, and the sudden move made Gavin flinch. 

“I think you invaded my personal space enough for today.” He said it harshly.

"Jeez, I’m sorry; I didn’t know you were so sensitive about it.”  

Without saying anything, he stood up and left the room, leaving the villain to do his own work. 

"Why can’t I control my impulses? Reaching for his glasses was risky.” He muttered while walking aimlessly. Gavin didn’t know where he was going, and he didn’t care. He wanted to give Wesker some space, hoping he would calm down. 

“What the fuck was I thinking? At least I’m in one piece.” He took a right turn, arriving in a short corridor. On each side were many doors, and in his relentlessness, he tried to open them all. 

“No key, I got no key whatsoever.” He said he was frustrated upon seeing that the doors wouldn’t budge. “I don’t know the passcode either.” His finger typed randomly the numbers on the lab’s screen lock that were at the end. “Fuck it.” He kept pressing until the door automatically locked.

“Emergency lockdown, too many wrong attempts. Call the tech department for further support.” A warm, robotic voice announced. 

“Well, I am the tech department, and I ain’t doing shit.” He said annoyed while continuing to mess with the door. 

Gavin tried to find an explanation for why he made such a risky move. All of this should’ve been just a silly way to pass the time until Chris arrived. All the jokes, all the flirting, and all of those silly conversations should’ve been just a way to distract him. 

“What the fuck were you thinking, Gavin? Going for his glasses? Overstep his boundaries like that?” The little touchscreen became inactive, so the buttons stopped beeping.

“What is beyond this door anyway?” He said this as he pulled out a screwdriver from one of his pockets. He was determined to open the door the old-fashioned way just to make time pass by. Besides, he was thinking clearly when he was active. 

“What the fuck are you doing there?” A familiar voice asked in a harsh tone, and soon a figure emerged from the darkness. 

Gavin froze and turned around very slowly, just like a prey who'd been cornered. Still, besides the obvious fear that he felt in that moment, he also felt a tinge of joy that was difficult to explain.

“Wesker, I…I was…the lock was broken, and I decided to fix it.” He was a terrible liar, and even if Wesker wasn’t there to watch the full scene, he still wouldn’t have believed him.

“And do you know who broke the lock in the first place?” He asked, his arm crossed to his chest. 

“No, sorry, I’m just the tech guy.” 

Wesker sighed and rubbed his forehead. He would have to teach the boy how to lie.

“Listen, Wesker…” The boy began to say shyly yet determinedly, “I know I’m difficult to have around,” a promising beginning that sparked Wesker’s interest in the conversation. He removed his hand from his face and watched the other man with curiosity. “And I know I haven’t been a pleasant ‘guest’ lately.”

“Go on.” 

“But I’m glad that you have patience with me, no matter how annoying I am.” 

Wesker was angry with him, especially when he saw him messing up with the lock, but there was something in his apology that softened him a little. So he brought his hands to his temples, and his long fingers grabbed the handles of his sunglasses, slowly taking them off. His eyes were shining with a beautiful dark red shade, which illuminated his sharp features faintly. At that moment, his eyes were shining the brightest in the room, creating a powerful contrast that made him look frightening. He came closer to the much shorter man and stared down at him. Still, Gavin wasn’t afraid. In fact, he kind of enjoyed this raw display of power.

“I know this situation might be hard for you, but remember that I can always turn it into something much more ugly." I give you freedom and something to do because I don’t see you as a threat, but give me one single reason to believe so, and I’ll turn you into a mindless tyrant.” 

“Understood,” Gavin nodded fast. 

“And keep your hands to yourself. I’m letting this one slide, but next time I won’t be so kind.” 

“Yes, Wesker,” Gavin said, lowering his gaze. 

He felt that he was being a bit harsh to the younger man, so he tried to lift his mood. 

“Speaking of, are you satisfied now?” Wesker asked while putting on his sunglasses. 

“Huh? Oh yes, definitely. Your eyes are very beautiful.” Gavin was surprised by this but also relieved. The whole conversation felt like a wild ride because he didn’t know whether he’d keep his head or not. 

“Thank you. You know, not everyone has a chance of seeing them.” He said it with a smile. 

“Yeah, I figured.” Both men chuckled, and Wesker patted his shoulder. 

“I’ll tell you what, I’ll be a nicer company if you promise to be a good boy. How’s that sound?” 

“Fine by me.” 

“Excellent. You can start by fixing that door you broke.” Wesker said as he turned around to leave. Gavin nodded and stared dreamily as the older man walked away.

Hmmm... 'intimidated by'? Intimidation is... hmm. Well, I don't feel intimidated by anyone here. Not in an arrogant way (as in I AM THE GREETIST) but in a... we all have different skills, preferences and focuses kind of way? And I mean sure, I’d love to be a better artist, but I think growth comes from appreciation and a desire to keep learning rather than intimidation. 

But admiring WELL. I admire many people within this fandom. This is for sure not a complete list & I’ll likely add to it/edit it as time goes on, so nothing personnel, kid.

@neomineom I ADORE their art! They have mostly drawn Sokol/Dallas, but in the past also did some Chains/Houston. I love how they draw & colour things in a soft, pastel-ly, realistic way. Some work is NSFW but you can only see it if legally allowed to do so in your country.

@handhelld An artist & writer. Their art uses such bright colours that just P O P. I want to learn their secrets 👀 They also write EXTREMELY hot fics over on AO3.Their NSFW alt is also a personal fave of mine.

@lambda-complex I haven’t seen them active so much on here lately, but their art is phenomenal in terms of colour (that one Wolf with drill pic is insane), poses (Chains on a horse say whaaaaatt?).

@biframes A recent addition to the Payday Tumblr community! It’s not overly done/overly dramatic or eye-rolling-ly OoT as some angst can be - its a fine line to tread and D knows how far to push. I also cracked up L O A D S at their poly soulmates AU fic, which I believe never made it out publicly. I also... both loved and hated their Hanahaki NaviMind fic written on here. It hurts but it was so good I was grabbing my phone like a little gremlin every time I got a notification through from them.

He’s very into hearing his partner talk during sex, mostly because he wants to keep tabs and know how they’re doing; but if his partner’s the one who seizes control, Lip runs out of words very quickly. Harsh breathing, moans even when he tries to hold them back, eyes squeezed shut to cling to his self-control... into hand holding during sex.  He’s a very physical lover, with a lot of stamina; sometimes leaves bruises without meaning to and feels guilty afterwards  (aftercare with Lip is like going to a spa). Occasionally he enjoys music to set the mood, or even candlelight, but Lip’s versatile. If his partner’s up for it, he can rumble pretty much anywhere.

He’s a surprisingly skilled writer, and can be quite eloquent when he puts his mind to it. Though plainspoken by nature, Lip’s written a few poems for his private collection, and would definitely try his hand at love poetry for his partner. They’re not half-bad.

P   :   PARTNER.   what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

Lip kind of wants someone who can keep him on his toes a bit. For as steady as he is, he’s drawn to unpredictable people, with a healthy sense of humor. Someone who appreciates quiet, but knows exactly when to fill it; someone who isn’t afraid of responsibility or commitment. A hard worker; someone who can carry an intelligent conversation, and is naturally a thinker. If they share common interests, like literature/museums/engineering, he’d be absolutely delighted. Above all else, Lip’s drawn to people with beautiful smiles, even if they don’t show it off that often.

Q   :   QUESTION.   would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

Call him traditional (it’s valid, cause he is) but Lip would like to be the one to pop the question. As soon as he decides that, yes, he wants to spend the rest of his life with this person, Lip’s next step is to evaluate  ---  do they feel the same way? He spends a while overthinking this question before finally deciding to just take the leap and buy a ring. The proposal will come in a quiet moment, when he and his partner are both feeling equally at peace. If his partner beats him to it, he’ll be surprised, of course...  but either way, the end result is the same. If it means spending

R   :   ROMANCE.   is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

He wishes he were more romantic...  but, unfortunately, practicality is ingrained in this man’s bones. He’ll definitely surprise his partner with bouquets on occasion, and thinks very carefully about gifts, but he’s not the ‘spontaneous romantic adventure’ sort.

S   :   SWEETHEART.   did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?

He had a few middle school crushes that never went anywhere; that’s as far as Little Lip’s love life ever went. He bore a lot of responsibility from a young age, so never really had time to mess around.

T   :   TRUE LOVE.   does your muse believe in true love?

He...  would have to see it firsthand to believe in it, but he believes in individual cases of it. Like, his mother and father  ---  that was true love. Lip saw the way they looked at each other, so there’s not a doubt in his mind. He doesn’t believe it’s everywhere, or even common, but in certain cases true love definitely exists. Maybe it’s out there for him, too...  he hopes so.

U   :   UNREQUITED.   has your muse had their heart broken?

In a romantic relationship? Not...  not really. Lip’s got a strong heart. It’s endured a lot, and can endure more.

V   :   VALENTINE.   how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

He’s a very proper “dinner date and a box of chocolates” type, so would go out of his way to do something nice for a partner, but doesn’t make much of the day himself.

W  :   WEDDING.   would your muse get married? why / why not?

Yes, this is absolutely something he wants! Lip’s given it a lot of thought, and the idea of raising his own family appeals greatly to him; he lost his father at such a young age that he really wants to be a constant, supportive presence in his childrens’ lives. And, more than anything, he wants to spend a lifetime with someone he loves. That would make any future struggles and past strifes worth it.

X   :   XOXO.   does your muse use / like pet names?

Very conservative with them. “Sweetheart” or dimunitives of someone’s name is probably as far as he’d go.

Y   :   YOURS.   does your muse get protective easily?

Again, yes, and he doesn’t like it about himself! Of course, Lip would move mountains when the people he loves need help  ---  there’s no shame in that  ---  but when it comes to his partner, he can get territorial. Seeing someone threaten his partner is one of the few things he’ll get angry about, and a pissed off Carwood Lipton is not something anyone wants to confront firsthand.

Z   :   ZZZ.   how many people has your muse slept with?

Not a lot. He went to college for a short time, and that was really where he was able to let loose; while still a diligent student, he went to a few parties and met a few girls. So, by the time of the war, maybe three partners? Enough that he’s not nervous in bed, and has a good idea what goes where.

Heeeere comes an auntie! Don't think she'd forget about him, at the end of the day. So excuse her while she snags his hat, ruffling his hair with affection. " There you are. Have any stories for your auntie?" It's just her way of asking him how his day went, but she's all ears for anything else he might want to say.

      he flails his arms up, both to knock the offending hand away and to reach out for his hat -- his head feels so cold and bare without it!

      but alas, his height ( or lack thereof ) limits him, and he accepts his fate, crossing his arms and puffing out his chest in some feeble ( and frankly, adorable ) attempt at being intimidating.
