The way I see it, mourning a pregnancy is about mourning a future you wanted to have with a person you were ready to welcome and love, and that sense of loss isn't really dependent on whether that person actually objectively existed yet.

Meanwhile abortion access is about ensuring people still *have* futures, period.

my official stance is a pregnancy is whatever the pregnant person wants it to be. if it’s a 4 week old clump of cells and they want to call it a baby it’s a baby. if they're 20 weeks and they want to call it a parasite it’s a parasite. if they're 39 weeks and call it a fetus it’s a fetus. “why are you so sad about miscarrying at 6 weeks it was literally just an embryo” because that was their baby. “how can you get an abortion at three months” because that wasn’t a baby. hope that helps.

On the one hand, I doubt AO3 would be (immediately) targeted. This bill claims it's for revoking the nonprofit status of organizations that "support terrorism", and it's pretty clearly geared towards targeting Palestinian rights orgs like JVP or general aid orgs that work in Palestine like MSF. Even if the incoming administration got to make use of it, their primary targets are going to be civil rights advocates and maybe sources of Democrat political funding. To be clear, this is horrifying and you should call to stop it. But it's unlikely to hit AO3 specifically.

On the other hand, the incoming administration is absolutely going to try to nuke all queer content off the face of the internet, so downloading those fics and keeping an eye out for other bad bills is a good idea.

Readers, make sure you have all your favourite Ao3 fics downloaded.

The latest 11.0 update means that Google Analytics is a thing on the switch and turned on. What that means is that Nintendo has a deal with Google to share with them your data for advertisement purposes.

To turn it off

go to the eShop

go to your profile where your funds and account info is

go down to the bottom of the page

there you will see “Google Analytics Preferences”

select the Change

select “Don’t Share”

Please spread the word. Really shitty of Nintendo to just quietly start allowing Google to spy on users for advertising.
