Born Elio Romano Erwitz, 'Elliott Erwitt' was a French-born American advertising and documentary photographer known for his black and white candid photos of ironic and absurd situations within everyday settings. He was a member of Magnum Photos from 1953.

#isat #in stars and time #sifloop #isat loop #loop isat #isat siffrin #siffrin isat #isat spoilers #desert art #day 9 #they'd hate sugary stuff (especially caramel) for. obvious reasons #literally so sad if they had a favorite caramel dessert...#so yeah. they get shinji chair-ed #siffrin is really the only one who got malanga fritters during the loops so loop is kinda free from the trauma #dw he'll probably be able to eat them again in... some time?#it's really common to not be able to eat something for a while after it made you feel sick in the moment #loop is trying really really hard to be both sensible and not vulnerable about the fritters lol #siffrin liking fritters so much could suggest a liking for #a) spicy things (due to them pointing out a lack of pepper in them when bonnie cooks some)#b) roots and stuff. as was pointed out by my bestie (great observation btw)#the boat story also heavily implies siffrin lived by the sea so it's natural to assume they ate lots of fish dishes #but i don't think it's anything fancy that they like (as suggested by the fish head) most likely something simple #like smoked or salted fish! in this drawing i went for salted salmon. cuz it's tasty :)

In the Food and Cooking of the Middle Kingdoms "Finally got around to that photo session" department: Hot-smoked Arlene lake herring with a spicy mustard cream sauce. The sides: sweet-and-sour cabbage and carrot salad, and wholemeal buttered skillet breads.

...We did the smoking in the back yard BBQ, having been lucky enough to source some "lake herring" (Coregonus autumnalis: the Irish name is "pollan") from the nice people at EatMoreFish.ie. Immediately froze the smoked fish and put them aside until finishing the just-turned-in Sherlock Holmes "Multiverse of Mystery" story left me with enough time to think about other things. I imagine I'll be able to get the recipes and backstory material associated with the above dishes typed up in the next few days.

...And lo, I think I just heard Peter finish watching the most recent "House of the Dragon" installment. I give that fish about five minutes. :)

ETA: Twelve. Twelve minutes. (He got distracted by making more of the sauce.) ISTGoddess... :)
