The eclipse is happening today because we have failed in our faith as a society. We no longer believe the way we once did, and thus this is happening as a sign and things will be going downhill rapidly unless we repent and change our ways.
In penance I will be reading from the Book of Overthrowing Apep, focusing on the passages Fettering Apep, Spitting on Apep, Trampling on Apep with the Left Foot, Taking the Knife to Smite Apep, Taking the Lance to Smite Apep, and Putting Apep on the Fire.
I hereby curse Apep, he who is also known as Am, Amam, Beteshu, Hemhemti, Hem-taiu, Iubani, Saatet-ta, Khermuti, Kenememti, Iubau, Karau-anememti, Khesef-hra, Hau-hra, Khak-ab, Khan-ru… uaa, Kharubu the Four Times Wicked, Nai, Nesht, Qerneru, Qettu, Sau, Seba-ent-seba, Sheta, Serem-taui, Sekhem-hra, Turrupa, Tutu, Uai, and Unti.
May Ra survive this and return to us unscathed.

Triumphant one over evil, slayer of ifset,
Hear Your Child’s prayers.
Foremost Protector of the barque, Kepesh of Ra,
Come now! Strike down the evil!
Your foes tremble before You, ifset trembles before You,
As You smite those who stand against Your Child.

"RA made me trans 'cause he knew I'd die via dick electrocution if I was cis" - you still could, should your heart so desire! The wonders of modern medicine
I could, just never felt the need. I'm damn happy with how I look, frankly, only way I could get happier is if I could graft my fuckin' brain directly into Two For Flinching without RA comin' to smite my ass (and if I could fix Two For Flinching's fuckin' shitass paint job my old boss had me get).

Kavetham constellation brainrot
we, collectively, don't talk about Kaveh and Alhaitham's constellations enough.
Looking at Alhaitham's first, Vultur Volans was the roman term for the constellation Aquila (the eagle). But why are we referencing its symbolism as a vulture instead of an eagle? That feels deliberate even though everyone assumes Alhaitham's meant to be an eagle. I contend that it's meant to be three things, an eagle, a vulture, and a falcon (just like the interpretations of the real constellation.) The eagle is obviously the well-trodden path of the divine symbol of Zeus/Jupiter. But what we kind of ignore is that the eagle was said to hold onto Zeus's lightning bolts, y'know his method of smiting people. Vultures and falcons have similarly death-related divinity. In an ancient desert environment, vultures are very useful as scavengers for getting rid of bodies to prevent the spread of disease and the general unpleasantness of rotting flesh. Falcons are very clearly associated with Egyptian gods, but particularly Horus, who was famously born/created from the dismembered body parts of his father. Interesting.
Now let's look at Kaveh. Paradisaeidae refers to birds of paradise, which are a real kind of bird, but the name is based on a kind of bird from Persian myth called the Huma bird. These things are wild. They're supposedly always flying and never lands on the ground. Some myths depict them like phoenixes, burning up every few hundred years to be reborn from the ashes. It's supposed to bring good fortune to people it flies over or who touch it. In some traditions it cannot be caught alive and whoever kills it will die within 40 days. It overall symbolizes unreachable highness and divinity. Obviously, it's a fake bird, but it's theorized that it's based on bearded vultures (meaning if we interpret it as a real bird that's gained divine properties, it would've probably done so via literally starving itself out of an unwillingness to bring or benefit from harming another creature).
They're the same kind of bird, fundamentally, but associated with opposing kinds of divinity. One brings destruction and the other brings fortune. One is self-sustaining, comfortable as the right hand of the true divine, but it is outcast due to its nature to survive using tragedy that befalls other creatures. The other cannot ever come down to be a normal bird, it sacrifices itself on an altar of being able to continue to bring joy to people it will never be close to. Change, decay, and cold rationality vs burning compassion and altruism and perfection. The burning bird can never be a meal for the vulture, as its death means only ash, and it is thus the only kind of misfortune of another creature the vulture can truly understand and care about. The Huma can never understand why the eagle is content as a messenger for the gods, why the vulture feels no guilt for the death it scavenges, why the falcon is content with a normal life when it was born with the potential for unimaginable greatness. The eagle, vulture, and falcon cannot understand the Huma's lack of pride or its willingness to damage itself for the sake of humans who would catch and kill it in their ignorance.
Also relevant is the fact that Deshret is clearly meant to be an analog of Horus or Ra. Both are associated with falcons and the sun, and their eyes are both significant in mythology (Deshret is symbolized by an eye in a sun in the lore). Nabu Malikata also has a massive pattern of sacrifice and she famously made a daughter-bird that was destined to die in the cataclysm.
There's a lot to unpack here but by god someone's gotta do it. The reincarnation, entangled souls, two sides of a coin vibes are SO STRONG with them. They're soulmates and the constellations only reinforce this when you pull back the hood on them. AAAAAA
#genshin#genshin impact#kaveh#alhaitham#kavetham#haikaveh#king deshret#goddess of flowers#nabu malikata#personally my favorite alhaitham bird interpretation is the vulture#there's something so poetic about it#the vulture really captures his cynicism and relationship with wider society#and it contrasts with the whole phoenix thing kaveh's got going on#love my birdies fr

So…kinda depressing ask but Demeter’s recent death kind of had me wondering, especially since you mentioned in an ask once LONG ago—so long ago that’s it’s to the point I can’t even find it anymore 😭—that Poseidon wouldn’t kill his siblings just severely mutilate them.
((I’m assuming u totally ditched that when it came to Demeter’s death—which is totally fine cause either way it flows well with ur story and ur description of Poseidon because if Demeter is permanently dead it checks out because she took something from Poseidon that he would never forgive and he would see that as a betrayal which would, in his mind, justify the killing. And if she is still alive (although I don’t see how that could be possible- how can u stay alive when you’ve been…ripped apart 😭😂😅) but living like Adamas then that’s also possible since she is his sister and he’s spared his siblings before (adamas) after mutilating them of course.))
All that to say, it got me wondering. Could and/or would Poseidon or any of the other yans, if they ever became like SUPER (astronomical levels, really) upset with Percy. Result to…killing her? Could they?
yeah demeter is permanently dead, no coming back at all. no revival, no reincarnation, etc. i'm pretty much going the canon route on how deaths are handled! so in ror, when gods die they go to niflhel! same goes with the human souls in the after life (and by that, i mean, after dying in midgar, if they die again in helheim/valhalla, they go to niflhel)
in the ror wiki:
HOWEVER!!! the only difference is that in my fic, gods don't have souls. instead, they're made of divine essence. so for the sake of my fic, when a god dies, their divine essence is destroyed
so yeah, no coming back for demeter or zagreus 😅
as for ur other question.......
the yans absolutely CAN kill percy. ror characters are ridiculously op in terms of physicality, especially the gods cuz i gave them a huge buff. do you guys recall those brief lines i'd type up throughout previous chapters that are always something like "he gripped her arm so hard had it not been for the Curse of Achilles he would've snapped her bones" and stuff like that? yeah i was being fr, these gods can easily crush her to death on ACCIDENT 💀 it's the whole reason i set the story in-between pjo and hoo so she would still have the achilles curse! they're gods who don't interact with humans, they don't know how to be gentle 😭 even a high five could've ripped her hand off or shatter her lmaooo
as for cú chulainn, he's in the same boat (in terms of physicality). since i'm not going with canon (cuz it was too late for me lol), cú chulainn will be the "human with the strength of a god" kind of demigod, like what heracles was pre-ascension. so since he has the strength of a god, he could ALSO kill percy, HOWEVER. unlike the gods, he knows how to actually be careful so he has a lesser chance of actually killing her. the only issue is his ridiculously op gáe bulg which is canonically stated can't be "dodged nor guarded against". if ra and morrigan weren't fast or strong enough to dodge it, there's no damn way percy can 💀 again, the curse of achilles will save her here AS LONG AS SHE KEEPS HER FRONT FACING TOWARDS THE SPIKES. if she has her back to it..... 💀💀💀💀 but i can't see a scenario where he'll ever be so mad he uses that weapon on her.
also there's his freaky 👹goblin mode👹 thing i forgot to mention, but that hasn't been talked about in the manga yet and so far, from the myths, it just makes him more stronger and uncontrollable. if he were to get angry and get into ríastrad then yes, she'll be in a lot of danger 💀
so yes. the yans absolutely CAN kill her, but they won't ever be angry enough to actually want to murder her (excluding beelie's demonic destrudo ofc). the most likely scenario is that they accidentally kill her in a fit of rage. the gods have a higher chance of doing this, cuz they can literally just obliterate her or smite her without needing to even think that much.

Story of Sekhmet's Rampage: Modern Retelling
🐾 𓋹𓍑𓋴 🐾
This is a translated and modern retelling of the story of Sekhmet, more specifically the story of the (almost) complete slaughter of mankind from The Book of The Heavenly Cow. I rewrote this myself using translated sources, aiming to make this reading more understandable.
Notice:
• The original translation has the name "Re", but it means the same as Ra.
• Some things I could not translate easier without removing most of it's meaning, so I did not.
• This is a retelling geared towards entertainment— I add a bit more personality and atmosphere to make the story flow together understandably. Nothing I added strays from the original.
------
When Ra finished making His great creations, He took upon the form of man and ruled over all of mankind and the gods for many years. In His reign, Egypt prospered immensely, and great harvests were brought forth. But in the form of man, Ra grew old— His flesh of gold and His bones of silver, with hair made of genuine lapis lazuli. His kingship was no longer feared, and many laws were broken. Mankind had grown to have such audacity under His rule that they conceived of a wicked plot to overthrow Him.
His Majesty Ra heard of this plan, and His anger was like no other. He was utterly appalled at their disobedience, and so He turned to his advisors.
"Please summon to me my Eye, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, and Nut. Tell Nun from which I came to attend with His courtiers." He ordered. "You must bring them to my palace in secrecy, so mankind shall not see them. Their advice is greatly needed in this matter."
And so they were brought to Him right away, and these gods respectfully bowed in His Majesty Ra's presence. Nun awaited patiently for him to state his great trouble.
"Tell us of this situation, Ra." Nun encouraged.
"Oh ancestorial gods, Oh Nun from whom I was born from, look upon mankind which I created. These men have been plotting against me! Hear what they say of me, tell me what you would do about such a thing. I will do nothing violent to mankind until I have heard your thoughts of this." Ra spoke.
"Ra, what blasphemy! I ask of you to stay on your throne. Mankind has become rebellious, but I know they must still fear you. Turn your Eye upon them in the form of your daughter, Hathor. She will rightfully smite those traitors." Nun answered. Just as He did so, Ra had become aware of His people beginning to flee into the desert, their hearts fearful of what Ra might do with such a suggestion.
And so Nun continued.
"No eye is as capable as yours to bring divine retribution. Send it to them in the form of Hathor!" He proclaimed.
So from Ra's Eye His daughter Hathor came into being. She roamed the lands of Upper and Lower Egypt and slaughtered those who had plotted against Ra, taking immense delight in the destruction She brought upon mankind. She bathed in their blood, and killed everything that moved.
Ra watched from his throne as She did so, before summoning His daughter to stand before him.
"I Welcome your return, beloved Hathor! Have you accomplished what you were sent out to do?" Ra asked.
"As you live for me, I have indeed done what you have commanded. I have overpowered mankind, and it brings joy to my heart." Hathor rumbled. And so Ra approved. "That is good. I may gain power once more over them as king. Hold off on your murder."
But it was then the great lionness-headed Sekhmet was made from Hathor. She did not listen to Her father, and continued to kill across the lands of Egypt. The Nile ran dark red, and Sekhmet waded in the blood starting from Heracleopolis. Ra began to have sudden pity on mankind, even if they had rebelled against His kingship. But nobody was able to stop Sekhmet in Her bloodshed alone, and Ra knew this would have to be settled a much clever way. Ra called for speedy emissaries swift as shadow, and they were brought to Him, where His Majesty gave them orders.
"Journey to the isle of Elephantine and bring to me as much red ochre as you can carry!"
And they brought such to Him, returning it to the city of Ra by the time it was night. The maidservants of Heliopolis had been grinding barley and brewing beer even before their return. His Majesty appointed the high priest of Ra to pulverize the red ochre and add it to the beer, so that in the moonlight it bore resemblance to the blood of men. It looked indistinguishable from human blood, and seven thousand hebenet-jars of this beer was made. Ra inspected this beer closely at the eve of the day, when Sekhmet planned to journey south and kill greater mankind. The gods came with Ra in curiosity of His wisdom in this plan.
Ra was pleased with this beer, and had them take it to the place where Sekhmet was to be found by dawn. It was still night when the beer was poured out over the fields to the height of three palms.
When Sekhmet came hungrily the following day for the slaughter of men, She instead found the fields flooded with this beer the color of blood, and so She thought it was the blood of men whom She killed. Sekhmet was delighted at this sight, licking her lips before she drank from this liquid. To Sekhmet, She could tell no difference. She returned so drunk that She was unable to recognize the faces of men, and therefore could not kill them. Ra awaited for His daughter to return, welcoming Her warmly.
And so Sekhmet became Hathor once again, and beautiful women came to be in Imau.

Hi Vex,
I had a mech idea/concept that I really want to flesh out but I'm not exactly sure how to best build it. The idea came from a conversation I had with my group about the Mecha genre vs the Sailor Moon/Magical Girl genre. And I thought, 'what if they kissed worked together?' So I decided to try and build a Magical Girl themed Mech.
So far, I am considering using Manticore as a base frame because I am really tempted to call it Sailor RA and do the whole "In the name of RA, I will CASTIGATE you!" thing. Other than that I'm thinking about maybe a Controller type build and/or maybe focusing on the really weird/paracausal abilities? Do you have any ideas for this kind of build?
Thank you!!!
Since we're doing Sailor Moon Magical Girl stuff, have you considered that instead of using the Manticore, you could use the Lycan, a Manticore altframe from the upcoming Operation Winter Scar module?
-- HORUS Lycan @ LL6 -- [ LICENSES ] HORUS Manticore 2, IPS-N Nelson 2, IPS-N Blackbeard 2 [ CORE BONUSES ] Overpower Caliber, Gyges Frame [ TALENTS ] Executioner 3, Nuclear Cavalier 3, Walking Armory 3 [ STATS ] HULL:4 AGI:2 SYS:0 ENGI:2 STRUCTURE:4 HP:21 ARMOR:2 STRESS:4 HEATCAP:8 REPAIR:5 TECH ATK:+1 LIMITED:+1 SPD:4 EVA:8 EDEF:10 SENSE:8 SAVE:13 [ WEAPONS ] Integrated: Shock Claws Integrated: Fuel Rod Gun FLEX MOUNT: Thermal Rifle HEAVY MOUNT: Nanocarbon Sword (Thermal Charge) // Overpower Caliber [ SYSTEMS ] Personalizations, Beckoner, Smite, Armament Redundancy
I call this one ECLIPSING BINARY SUPERGIANT PRISM POWER MAKEUP.
So the Lycan's basic conceit is that it's a two state system. You start combat with your normal stats as listed above, and a dormant superheavy weapon called the Shock Claws that cannot be used.
It has Slag Carapace just like the Manticore, giving it resistance to Energy and Burn damage. However, it replaces the Manticore's Unstable System, Charged Exoskeleton and CASTIGATE THE ENEMIES OF THE GODHEAD traits with two new ones. Interference Field causes nearby enemies to take Difficulty on attacks that don't target the Lycan, and Power Flux, which causes enemies to potentially become Impaired and Slowed if you take heat.
Your mech plays mostly like a normal Manticore for the first part of the fight. However, at any time, you may activate your core power, GO LOUD, which as a full action causes your mech to violently shed its outer plating. You lose Slag Carapace and Interference Field, your base Armor becomes 0 and your base speed becomes 6. You may then immediately move your speed and attack an enemy with your Shock Claws.
That's not all, however: you can charge up your Shock Claws by watching your allies get hurt.
If your friends take Structure damage before you GO LOUD, it charges up your Shock Claws. They initially deal 3d6+6 AP Energy damage (Overkill) in Threat 1 (although Gyges Frame already bumps that up to Threat 2) and cause another nearby enemy to take 1d6 AP Energy damage. If you see an ally take Structure damage, that goes up to Threat 2 (Threat 3 with Gyges). If you see an ally take Structure damage a second time, the damage increases to 4d6+6 AP Energy (Overkill) and the number of enemies who get struck by secondary damage increases to 2.
If an ally is destroyed in your line of sight before you GO LOUD, your Shock Claws instantly charge to full power, no matter what state they were in before.
This is a little bit more Super Saiyan than Sailor Moon, but you do get to go through a whole transformation/power up sequence and smite your enemies because they were mean to your friends.
