Laputa Shrine is located in a small cave on a floating island. Pray here for safety of planes (note: I can't fly an SLplane well either, but at least there's usually less to hit in the sky?). You can reach this Shrine by the Saitama Metro G29 South Roanapur station on the RP Gakuen Line, take the teleporter right in your way to the beach from the underground up to it!

Dragonheart :: Buildertopia Project Journal 1

Fourteen hours.

Fourteen goddamned hours placing chalk blocks across a large buildertopia island to plan my town. like....the fuck?

I mean, that's a win for my ADHD meds, but god damn.

Anyway, for anyone who's played DQB2, after end game you can get another island you can free build on. I made one--didn't extensively plan, and hated it.

Today has me set for a while. I need to do my pallette work, and a lot of terraforming, but it's all planned.

All. Planned.

And there's more past what the FOV will allow. Fields are white and numbered. Farm houses gray. Paths in red outside the city. Hell, I even have spots for traveling merchants, AND am extending a good chunk of the island for a forest in the South West corner.

There's really cool features I have planned, and I'm debating writing lore for the town before uploading my island for people to tour so they can check that out if they want. (Not sure if anyone would be interested or not).

Anyway, I took four map shots from above to show the scope:

TOP LEFT: Far west. Ports, warehouse district. The purple in the left is the start of the magic schooling area. The purple I's are islands, and there's a waterfall off the mountain on the far left that they come from.

Circles are towers, and black is walls...until I ran out, then red.

TOP RIGHT: Well-to-do area, shopping area, town square and beach.

BOTTOM LEFT: The low-class area is SL, and then we get to the farms for both livestock as well as produce. A field for flowers snuck in, too.

BOTTOM RIGHT: You can see the pink outline of what I'm adding. That area is the forest--the circle will be a faerie ring, and the plus signs are for the merchant camps. I have farm houses as well as a fisherman's hut in there as well.

I'm still planning on doing more tonight, but it'll likely be sectioning things so I can build in reasonable chunks. (I didn't do that on my bestie's buildertopia and while I did make a mountain in 2 days, my eyes hated me for it.)

I want to post here every now and again with progress shots as this will likely take a good while working alone. I may call in the bestie on occasion, but I've noticed, building improves my mood--and I've had a shit couple of months.

Ok, but if SL took place in Sweden, where would Luna and Simón live? In the north?

No, actually, the closest we would have to Cancún would be the south of Sweden. In southern Sweden there's much more beach towns (though, also a lot of farmers and small villages, even though there are some larger cities there too)

Southern Swedish accents are also very typically distinct, they are very different from maybe, a Stockholm accent. They also have their own words and slang that you don't have in other parts of Sweden.

But right now I am laughing cause I can't imagine them speaking in an accent like that (especially since when I picture them speaking swedish I just picture their dubbed voices, which obviously is like... standard swedish without a specific accent)
