this was the first moment with Gore when it struck me how much he feels like a real person. yes you both climbed the tallest fucking mountain on the continent please ask your friend to wait just a second longer to see the view before their life is irrevocably changed and yours with it

also didn't realize until this how much i needed a character who was teaching themselves to love life. thanks for the reminder that it's work worth doing bud

So I played gore x vigilant and to say I was distraught once act 3 started and terrified all through act 4 would be an understatement

My DB, waking up hungover: Sweet Mara... my head... Lucien: And hullo to you, Dragonborn! Feeling better after... well, I suppose you wouldn't remember, would you? DB: No, I don't. Why do I have bruises all over? Lucien: That would be from throwing yourself at every one of our companions to deliver, and I quote, "mandatory hug therapy." DB: ...oh no. Lucien: You wouldn't just hug us- it felt more like watching a bear with one leg climbing a tree than a hug. DB: Oh no. Lucien: For the taller folk you insisted that they backpack you across camp so that you can hug them while they do their thing. You cried on Master Xelzaz's shoulder about all your problems, and called Secunda 'too precious, too good for this world.' You were also munching on Gore's hair. DB: NO. Lucien: --you also carried our shorter companions like luggage. Auri says that the 'dragon spin' was fun, and wants to do a similar thing in the battlefield. DB: And... is that all I did? Lucien: You then proceeded to call yourself 'the dragon' and us 'your mountain of treasure', but you got tired halfway through the explanation and ended up sleeping on Taliesin's lap while he patted your head like a cat and Khash braided your hair. DB: ... Lucien: ... DB: ... Lucien: ...Dragonborn? DB: Lucien. Lucien: Yes? DB: Strike this from that record you're writing, or I'm going to haunt your bloodline.

genuinely tho this line got me so good. like yes I thought it would be that easy but I'm so glad it isn't! feels like gore wouldn't even be gore if his romance started with or hinged on a piece of jewelry

I don't think a modded companion (let alone a companion in any game) has resonated with me the way Gore has! He feels so real to me, and has brought something so special into Skyrim! I can't rave enough about how much I ADORE him. :)
