¡El “gusto” de mi primera salida pospandemia!

¡Que hay de nuevo Skylets!

Hoy les traigo lo que escribí hace unos meses para un concurso gastronómico de la revista "Asomarte".

Esta travesía tomó lugar después de unos largos 18 meses en los que pensé que perdería la cabeza por el encierro, la preocupación y la desesperación que me generó tan horrible época que nos tocó vivir: la pandemia por COVID-19. Considerando estas condiciones era evidente que mis expectativas y emoción se encontraban por los cielos por mi primera salida pospandemia, así fue como mi salón y yo nos adentramos al suroeste del estado de Querétaro, en  una comunidad otomí llamada Villa Progreso, localidad del municipio de Ezequiel Montes, a una hora aproximadamente de la capital. 

Visitamos unos talleres de ixtle en donde conocimos el trabajo que conlleva la obtención de este material y cómo realizan de diferentes colores y tamaños las variadas artesanías: estropajos, cepillos de exfoliación, cinturones, además de las reatas ocupadas cotidianamente en la charrería, cabe destacar que dicho proceso es sumamente complejo y tardado.

Posteriormente, paseamos de forma breve por las magníficas calles de Villa para así encaminarnos a la Bodega “Bothë” en donde elaboran una gran variedad de excelente vino artesanal y de ahí pasamos por fin a la añorada y más importante parte de nuestra aventura: comer en la cocina tradicional “Los Yugos”.

Este lugar tan pintoresco está decorado con objetos antiguos, además, una vibra rústica me hizo recordar los tiempos más entrañables de mi vida en los que solía comer en casa de mis abuelos (muy lejos de donde me encontraba en ese momento). Quizá ese sentimiento de familiaridad le dio ese último empujoncito que necesitaba la experiencia para volverla mágica. 

Aquel día se presentó la oportunidad de experimentar un buffet basado en productos de temporada, dentro de los cuales tuvimos el placer de degustar nopales de santo, mole de xoconostle con carne de cerdo, tortitas de cilantro con queso, ensalada de nopales con chapulines, arroz, tortillas del comal, agua de sabor que compartía el mismo ingrediente principal que nuestro segundo plato (xoconostle) y un exquisito postre para nada convencional, del cual quedé fascinada: gelatina de garambullo con queso. ¡Uuh!, una maravilla de sabores y olores que te abrazan y apapachan el alma y por supuesto que también satisfacen nuestros gustos. 

La chef, María de los Ángeles Esperanza Pérez, es la genio culinaria encargada de dicha  comida tan especial y majestuosa, la misma que recibió una constancia por parte de la Universidad Autónoma “Benito Juárez” de Oaxaca, una Escuela de Gastronomía, por su participación en el evento “Zimatlán Gastronómico 2022”, lo cual incrementa el estatus y la jerarquía con la que cuenta tan delicada e inspiradora mujer.

Toda esta experiencia fue cerrada con broche de oro en aquel magnífico lugar, me hizo sentir que tanta espera encerrada valió toda la pena del mundo. Cierto, no fue el viaje más largo, ni visité el lugar más exótico del mundo, pero Villa Progreso y su gente tienen una facilidad para hacer sentir a uno en casa, aspecto que no cambio por nada. Para mí, todo ese recorrido es súper recomendado.

Zachary 'Zack' Prower-Rose

Oldest child to Violet Rose and Skye Prower, Zack is not only the grandson of both Sonic and Tails, but also the very first grandkid on both sides of the family, making his birth especially emotional.

He is very chill, calm and confident. He observes and listens before he acts, but when he has made up his mind about something, he can be stubborn as all hell. Like his father and grandfather he has a sharp mind and an interest in science, so he spends a lot of time with his father, and his parents have the easiest time with him out of their kids.

Zack also has super speed, but he was never a speed junkie and even as a kid grows less wild quickly. Super speed is convient, nothing more.

Zack is the oldest and often put in charge of his siblings, ad he takes this position extremely serious, much to his siblings' dismay.

When Violet and Skye found out they'd be having a baby, that was a big change for both their families. It was shortly after the final defeat of Dr. Eggman, a fight in which both Violet and Skye had big parts themselves. It was the beginning of a new era for the world, and for their family. But they decided to name their baby Zachary, which is derrived from an old name meaning 'remembering'. Because this day could've never happened without Sonic and Tails. They started the fight against Eggman to defend the world, gathered friends around themselves, never faltered. And their special friendship brought their families together. Violet and Skye would never forgt that.

They explained this to their parents. Sonic only cried a little.

Un viaje por el expreso del norte

¡Hey! ¿qué hay de nuevo Skylets?

El día de hoy decidí cambiarles el destino porque si no, no suelto a uno de mis destinos favoritos (Chiapas), entonces sigamos con Chihuahua…

Este fue el primer viaje largo que se llevó a cabo con mis compañeros de la universidad, no se me va a olvidar lo emocionante que fue, pues para ser honesta, si me daba mucho miedo ya que no soy una persona extrovertida y no estaba acostumbrada en lo más mínimo a salir con personas ajenas a mi familia por más de 1 día en donde implicaba quedarse a dormir con otros tres “extraños”, mis nervios estaban a full.

Llegó el día, empaqué hasta “lo que no”. Siento que la emoción que sentía en el camino para allá era aún bastante alta, pues no pude cerrar los ojos por más de 30 min en las casi 16 horas de trayecto, lo cual no debió haber sido bueno para mi reloj interno, además, el viaje se extendió principalmente por un elegante retraso de tres horas por el desfile del 20 de noviembre en Camargo.

Después de esa “odisea” llegamos al hotel a las 4 de la tarde, aprovechamos para descansar un poco y refrescarnos en la ducha. Ya con más energía nos dispusimos a salir al centro de Chihuahua en donde comimos hamburguesas con papitas, luego nos tomamos fotos en las letras gigantes que tienen el nombre de la ciudad,  después entramos a un museo, continuamos subiendo a un mega estacionamiento que tenía un mirador y finalizamos con “Pascualita”, un maniquí súper realista.

Al día siguiente pudimos tomar el famosísimo tren “Chepe que partía a las 7 de la mañana, todos  estábamos cansados pero encantados, pues es el único tren antiguo y de pasajeros en el país. Fue una experiencia que recomiendo bastante, sin problema me volvería a subir en él. Me sentía como si estuviera adentro de la película del “Expreso Polar”.

Llegamos a Creel a las dos de la tarde y escalamos un cerro, ahí mi cuerpecito me empezó a reclamar la falta de sueño y condición, aun así disfruté la incomparable vista al llegar a la cima. Bajando, en el centro pasamos al Museo Tarahumara de Arte Popular, el cual, te llena de cultura y la historia del lugar. Ese día no recuerdo a fondo los detalles de la noche, pero podría jurar que cenamos fuera y que fue algo riquísimo. ¿Qué cosa? Ni idea queridos Skylets, los dejaré con la duda.

Día 3, decidimos realizar un tour que incluyó: La Cueva de Doña Petra, una cascada Cusarare, el Lago Arareco, Valle de las Ranas, valle de los hongos, el Valle de los Monjes,  la Misión Jesuita. Acabando nos dimos un mini paseo por la ciudad, subimos otro cerro que estaba igual de cool  y nos generó bastante hambre, así que comimos en cuanto bajamos. Aquí, lectores, es donde entra la parte en la que mi empacada de más dio frutos pues me sentí horrible de la nada apenas ordenamos. Me dio demasiado calor, con muchas náuseas y todo era “de la patada”; le marqué a mi mamá para pedir ayuda, tomé algunas pastillitas que fueron de lo

“extra” en mi maleta y súbitamente, su autora volvió a la vida. Mi salud se recuperó a tal grado que me aventé a acompañar a los demás a una cafetería llamada “Kino’s” atendida por gente mayor que estaba llena de alegría y ganas de atender así que aunque no consumí café, me latió mucho la experiencia. También compramos tamales, pero totalmente distintos a los que comemos aquí en Querétaro, estaban bañados en frijoles o algo así, los probé poco pero valió la pena.

Al día siguiente nos fuimos a Barrancas del Cobre, entramos al Parque de Aventuras que se encuentra ahí, con bastante temor logré recorrer el Bosque Aéreo actividad tipo Canopy (le tengo miedo a las alturas) y me sentí bastante orgullosa de mí por haberme atrevido a hacerlo, eso me motivaría en el futuro a entrar a clases de rapel.

Tristemente ya después de eso tocó regresarnos a casa, lo destacable del camino de vuelta fue que comí lasaña. Es ¡Deliciosísima! Era apenas la segunda vez en mi vida que la comía. Es un viaje que nunca olvidaré.

Y bueno… con esto concluimos el relato del día de hoy, nos leemos luego queridos skylets.
