Hello, I have a theorie that I want to talk about very badly
that texas used as foreshadowing mike/julie relationship if the show wasn't shown on the Disney Channel Maybe I read too much in to it but hear me out
Julie has no problem sharing a bed with Mike, In the fifth episode, minute 13, when everyone asleep, we see that Julie is sleeping at the end of the bed, and there is an empty space with a pillow these is 99.999999% mike please , I mean, this clip wasn't added for no reason, it was because Mike couldn't sleep but… (( I just want to see how it is decided who gets to sleep in the bed and who doesn't )) in the other side Texas is asleep hugging Dutch , I know it was put as a joke, but we knew that someone else needed a hug and someone to tell them everything was okay at the time.
The kiss that came out of nowhere from Texas, in episode 14, I mean come on Mike's face like what the f*^&$ , I am the only one aloud to do that And the writer like no kissing for you, Then he turns to us and says to as This is what we can show you, folks
(I apologize for the grammatical errors, English is not my first language)
Sorry it took me so long to answer this!
I don't know if I personally count the Skylark Motel scene as Jukebox bait. It didn't seem like Mike planned on sleeping at all that night, and even if he did he could've just slept on the floor like Chuck.
That bit in episode 14 was 100% a Jukebox moment though. Mike's WTF expression is perfect.
I gotta include this screenshot from one of my videos stating what I believe are Mike's inner thoughts in this moment:
So yeah. These two definitely have a lot of interesting moments together. Not sure if they were meant to be hints that they would get together eventually, or if the writers just wanted to keep them as friends, but in the end it doesn't really matter. Not being canon was never gonna stop anyone from shipping these two. It certainly hasn't stopped me. :3
Good theory, though! <3

I saw my first @clementine_was_right show last night 🍊🥰⚡️ I cried a little during and then a whole lot after. “It’s important to be honest. It’s important to be emotional.” The band was new & fresh & loud, with just the right amount of fuzz & feedback. What begin with a ghostly rumble & the crackle of lightning storms on some unknown beach, morphed into an acapella Atlantic City singalong (“everything dies baby that’s a fact, but maybe everything that dies someday comes back…”) and then traversed various american landmarks, mountains, beaches, forests, through life & death & back again till we all ended up dreaming of dancing together in a different town. It’s always nice to meet new friends. I guess there’s been something in Clem songs since I first heard them that stuck with me. Something about the way that they sing & talk about life & death. About new friends & old friends, new places & old places, and how we drift between things. Mike said last night that everything is burning, that we live for some years and then we’re dead for some years. I laughed out loud thinking about the meme I read that said “what do you think happens after you die? -well, everything happens after you die, just none of it involves you!” I was reminded of the tender, casual way that another fav songwriter Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief talks about it when she says “Death, like a door, to a place we’ve never been before. Death like space, the deep sea, a suitcase.” I guess it helps to think about death that way. A door to a new place. Heaven. Hell. Home. Highways. If that’s the case, I’d like to start building that new world now. Strung with memories & mundane magic from Clem songs (& @starkstateofmind poetry -more on that later!) Writing you a letter from the bus stop. Watching the lightning take tall walks. Summer and all that light. The constant twilight of a motel room. Bedrock stones. Two redwood trees at the edge of the beach. Jumping off the green bridge at dawn. Sprays of red bud trees in some unmarked canyon. It all adds up to insane glory. I guess sometimes the best way out of the rain… Is straight back down in the river! The Clem 🍊 rolls on forever. (at Skylark Lounge) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq8Oox2LD_M/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Just after 7....Andy Giegerich of The Swindon Lot fills in the gaps.
I had met Andy Giegerich nearly 20 years ago after moving to Portland. The guy’s always been a super intelligent music fan with great taste and a very talented musicians as well. His first project that I was aware of was the Honus Huffhines who released a few records for the Braxeling label in Portland. Then, out of nowhere, a month or so ago Giegerich unleashed a solo album to the world under the name The Swindon Lot (The Scariana Trench is the title). I had no idea where the band name came from (he explains it below) but not surprisingly I heard some ultra-fine pop songs mixed in with some oddball, quirky sounds (the Elephant 6 world looms large in the Giegerich household) to create a whimsical world. Give The Scariana Trench a listen (or 3) and you’ll be happily sucked into a world where tubas and cornets are best friends with guitars and drums and everyone is enjoying themselves.
Before I dive into the solo record, I have to ask, are the Honus Huffhines still active?
Thanks for asking. The Huffhines remain hiatused (if that’s not a word, it really should be), coming up on seven years. We (Eric O’Connor and Ben Alberts and I), after our drummer Joe left, talked about it and decided we’d be one of those groups that will likely record and play out at some point, but there’s no timetable. In the meantime Eric and Ben play together in both Magnetic Health Factory and Lions of the Interstate, both of which continue to record. And I’m doing this as well as playing in a West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band tribute act that, I really hope, can play out once everyone can, well, play out. We’re called The Poorest of People.
When/why did the idea come about for doing a solo record?
I recorded and loosely released (digital only) a Swindon Lot EP in the week leading up to the 2017 inauguration, as both a way to escape the horrible realities about to be unleashed on the U.S. As I’d needed an outlet with the Huffhines on hiatus, it made sense to do a full-length. I actually started recording this in 2019, got busy with a new job and a few other here-and-there musical doings. So, yeah, long-ass labor for such a short (it’s only 32-plus minutes) record.
Where did the name come from, The Swindon Lot?
It’s an homage to my favorite band XTC and what for a while was my favorite TV show (the British Office). In the second season, a branch from Swindon merges with the branch from Slough, and the new workers are referred to the Swindon Lot. I kept waiting for XTC references when I first watched it, to no avail.
How did the songs come about…had most of them been written for a while or did they come about quickly?
It was a pretty wild mix. “(Oh) Beautiful Mountain” came to me in 2009, while I was hiking in the Steens Mountain area, while Luke Strahota and I sort-of threw together the last track, I guess it’s effectively the title track, while trying to put together a group wave. I’d sent him some files, but didn’t time them right, so they all came up together at the beginning of the track, and we thought it sounded freaky. Come to think of it, I should’ve given him a songwriting credit on it. I’ll get you on the reissues, Luke.
Anyway, some of the other ones, like “Reminded,” “Paper View,” “Tracey’s Child” and even “Teri Waters/Terry Watters” were songs I’d written that the Huffhines could tackle when we returned to the studio.
…and the recording of it? Was it more one shot or piecemeal?
I wish it were one-shot, because then I’d have a good excuse for how shoddy some of my playing is. But, Dave Berkham, from the Reverberations, mixed a bunch of the songs and did a good job hiding the mistakes (same goes for Kirk Larsen, who mastered it: I wasn’t there while he did it, but I’m guessing he found some workarounds that helped out a ton).
I definitely see/hear an Elephant 6 influence with the oddball bits here and there (and some of the song titles). Who else influenced the record?
There are four piano-driven songs that I wrote as I increasingly played more piano. Two of them (“Porter, Poster, Potter” and “Sunblocks”) were inspired by the great songwriter David Ackles while “Unrequiteds” is my attempt at a Wizzard song. I think I came sort of close, at least in spirit. Then, “Don’t Laugh,” which was also one of the last songs written for the project (around the end of 2019) is my go at a Rod Argent piano line. I drew heavily on “If It Don’t Work Out.”
But, yeah, you’re spot on. I’ve always loved the tweener stuff, the fragments, that Oliva Tremor Control used so well, and we tried to replicate that with the Huffhines second record. I got a few in here, and other than placing them a little better, I think they kind-of work.
Andy G. on a tour stop.
How do you feel about the final product?
It definitely could’ve have been better. I wish I’d had more confidence to enlist a real drummer to play on more songs: I’m hoping Luke will play on my next effort, a concept album I’ve had ready to go for about a decade now (it’s about the recent history of print journalism in Portland, although the longer I wait, the better chance it’ll become more of an ancient history). Quite often, I would play a part and let it go, rationalizing it as a lo-fi credo sort of thing. Those are the parts that bug me the most. Oh, and I’ve apparently lost the ability to sing. That’s by far the worst part of this effort. I’m pitchy, my dynamics are off and, fuck, I’ve gone in the past two years from nasally to super-nasally. I’m likely going to ask other people to sing my songs from now on. I’ll keep harmonizing, though: It’s way more fun, and I can focus on playing guitar or keyboards more than when I’m singing lead. But, yeah, those singing lead days, at least on all the songs, are over.
That all said, the Scariana songs are pretty good.
What are some current Portland bands that you like?
Oh man, the latest local act I’ve gotten is called Maita, and they’re, hmmm, kind-of psych-folk but with a tremendous singer who writes incredibly smart lyrics. Eyelids, of course, can do no wrong. The bands within the Nuggets Night community — the Reverberations, the Zags, the Cool Whips, the Pynnacles (RIP, Dave Busacker) — are always must-sees. Alison Dennis’s Dr Something is one of the city’s most entertaining and melodic acts. And, yeah, on our label, Braxeling bands — Josh Mayer just came out with a Fabulous 464s set that’s stellar, Lions of the Interstate, Metropolitan Farms, Magnetic Health Factory, Lodge Club — are brilliant, one and all. We’ve added the Harmony Motel, which is Stan Hall’s solo act, to our stable, and will put that out pretty soon. (Tosses the marketing cap to the side) OK, I’m back.
Top 10 desert island disc?
Your list and mine has at least one, maybe two, in common! Man, in looking at these, I feel fairly pedestrian…nothing like “Emergency” by the Tony Williams Lifetime (Andy Partridge’s favorite record). Fuck it…In no particular order:
Love, “Forever Changes”
Olivia Tremor Control “Dusk At Cubist Castle”
XTC, “Skylarking”
The Zombies “Odessey and Oracle”
Sly and the Family Stone “Stand”
The Turtles “Battle of the Bands”
John Coltrane “A Love Supreme”
Neutral Milk Hotel box set (that’s cheating, I know, but it has both On Avery Island” and “Aeroplane” in it, and I can’t live without either)
Barbara Manning “One Perfect Green Blanket”
Dave Giegerich “It’s About Time”
Your all-time 5 favorite record labels?
Spinart, Matador, Merge, Orange Twin, Sundazed
What’s next…more solo recordings? Another Huffhines record?
Most immediately, I’ll try to line up some willing Portland musicians for this concept record. I’m guessing studio time will be hard to get once herd immunity lands (hopefully, that last sentence will look hopelessly data in the matter of months.) Once Lions and Mag Health empty their new songs into the world, I’d like to get with those Huffhines fellows and co-write songs with them, which we’ve never done (always been the Huffhines primary songwriter…I miss writing with people). Also, I’m going to unleash a Major Healeys (my D.C. band) compilation into the world. I’m lining up ways to transfer the songs to a mastering format as you read this.
Closing words? Final thoughts? Words of wisdom?
Nah, platitudes breed attitudes. Hey, those might qualify as words of wisdom! Leaving it there…

An online travel & tourism glossary for young tour operators/guides
Do you know what the first step to becoming an expert is? If not anything else, your grasp over the jargons commonly used will help you stand out from the mass.
But what exactly is jargon? And why is it so important?
A word, a phrase or an expression that people from a specific domain, business or academia normally use is called a jargon. Let me help with you an example, the word ‘grades’ are commonly used in schools or universities to bench-mark your performance. As a business- owner, words ‘gross sales’ will help you measure the performance of your enterprise.
As a student, when you ask you friend ‘what was your grade in class 10?’ your friend immediately responds because he/she knows exactly what you mean when you say the word ‘grades.’ now picture this, you want to go to goa in march because of “off-season rate” and your tour operator books your flight and hotel for the month of November.
Off-season rate – reduced room rate charged by resort hotels when demand is lowest Instead of paying only Rs. 20,000 for the entire trip, you end up paying more than Rs. 50,000. Why did this happen? Because the tour operator or guide was not fully aware of the meaning of word “off-season rate” and instead reserved for the peak season, hence making your vacation a pricey affair.
This new article contains all the key-jargons that will turn you into a rockstar tour operator. Although, it is not an exclusive list, these jargons will help you smooth-sail into the business of tour operator/ tour guide.
Make sure you’ve a jargon or two up your sleeves in your life as a tour operator or a tour guide. From the list below, you’ll learn some of the most commonly used jargon in the tour operator business.

The Cars of Doo Wop City, Part 9
It's late September, time when all the beautiful cars cruise around Doo Wop City!
It’s late September in Doo Wop City. You know what that means: The tourist season is winding down, and the streets are clear. So, everyone rides up and down Atlantic Avenue in their cars while the weather is still warm. Meanwhile, my husband likes to stand at Skylark Motel, to watch and photograph the vehicles as they cruise around. This roadster was photographed on Thursday, September 20th,…

A Look Back…1981 NSRA Street Rod Nationals
As the 50th NSRA Street Rod Nationals approaches in August 2019 we are having fun looking back on Nats past. We’re busy digging through totes filled with B&W negatives and color transparencies to revisit Nats Past.
We will do these events in no particular order; rather we will simply use them as we discover them. This installment looks back at the 1981 Street Rod Nationals. This would be the first year for the street rod count to go over the magic 5,000 mark with 5,587 street rods filling the Columbus, Ohio fairgrounds. Honestly in 1981 we simply couldn’t imagine street rodding could get any bigger than this event, of course history would prove us wrong.
It was a year of trends for street rods and street rodders. The dress code included much shorter shorts for both men and women but the big news was the arrival of the cowboy hat. It seems the movie Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta and Debra Winger had captured the country’s imagination in 1980 and suddenly men and women alike were wearing cowboy hats. This craze did not go unnoticed by the street rodding community and by the 1981 Nationals rodders were shedding their Stroker caps and mesh-back ball caps for huge straw cowboy hats. These hats were often embellished with large decorative feathers and approximately nine pounds of hot rod hat pins. As a matter of fact the cowboy hat sales booth at the Nats was one of the busiest booths on the fairgrounds.
As for the cars there were several trends. The T-bucket was not as predominant as it had been in the seventies as young families looked to closed cars for long distance travel leaving the buckets for local cruising. The movement toward hot rod sedans was growing and the resto-rod was taking hold too. Throw in a growing number of non-Ford street rods and the landscape was changing, but beyond a doubt the big trend was wire wheels. It could well have been the Truespoke Nationals. Wire wheels of every description were hot, Zenith, Kelsey-Hayes, Dayton, T-bird, Buick Skylark and of course Truespoke wires were finding their way onto everything from highboy Deuce roadsters to Fordor Pontiac sedans. Inside many of these conservative cars velour was replacing vinyl and leather even etched glass was in vogue.
But 1981 was an exciting time. Street rodding was growing by leaps and bounds and the fun factor was climbing with it, from cruising the motels and main drags to finding the latest and greatest reproduction parts it was simply a great time to drive a street rod to the Nats.
My archival prowess is somewhat lower than museum quality so please excuse some of the scratches and blemishes on the film, the totes filled with thousands of images have been residing in the attic above my garage for many years.
I have amassed almost one-hundred black and white photos from the 1981 Nationals. If you were there, enjoy looking back on the event and who knows, your car may even be in one of the photos. If you didn’t attend, scroll through the photos for a quick look at some of street rodding’s modern history. Enjoy. SRM

Mike said I needed to write a synopsis of Crossroads if he was to do a Trailer Talk on Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Well, I took the lazy route and copied the Plot Summary from Wikipedia, then sprinkled in my jokes. The parts in bold is the funny stuff.
Lucy (Britney Spears), Kit (Zoe Saldana), and Mimi (Taryn Manning) are three friends who live in a small Georgia town [Yeah, right]. As young children, they bury a “wish box” and vow to dig it up on the night of their high school graduation and pledge to stay best friends forever [So far things are very normal]. However, as they grow up, their friendship fades due to their different approaches of high school: Lucy becomes the introverted valedictorian [Hot], Kit becomes the most popular girl in school [Still hot], and Mimi becomes an outcast from a trailer park who is facing teenage pregnancy [Fucking eww…]. On the night of their high school graduation, they keep their promise and get together to open the “wish box”. As they start talking again, they remember their old wishes while burying the box: Mimi wanted to travel to California [Good luck getting an acting career with a bun in the oven], Lucy wanted to find her mother [She’s probably at Target. Did you check Target?], and Kit wanted to get married [Kit’s the popular, hot one, right? I’m also looking to thee wed]. Mimi brings up going to Los Angeles to audition for a record company [When you’re a file clerk, it’s called interviewing]. Kit and Lucy try to convince Mimi to not go all the way to Los Angeles due to the fact that she is 5 months pregnant and anything dangerous can happen [Like not nailing that audition, or interview!]. However, the next morning they decide to go together but each doing something separate: Mimi going to the audition, Kit visiting her fiancé [Lucky son of a bitch!], and Lucy finding her mother in Tucson, Arizona [Your mom really needs to go to a much closer Tarǵet].
They set out on the road with little money in a yellow 1973 Buick Skylark convertible with a guy named Ben (Anson Mount). Lucy, however, leaves without the permission of her overbearing father Pete (Dan Aykroyd) [Coneheads…nice], who wakes up the next day to find his daughter is gone. Shortly into their journey, the car breaks down. They realize that together they don’t have enough money for either the travel or the repair costs. Mimi then suggests that they sing karaoke at a local bar, where good singers are tipped well by the customers [Too bad y’all suck. Well, except for the Gamora-looking chick]. While at the bar, the girls dress up and go to the stage to perform [Take off your top!]. However, when the song starts, Mimi develops stage fright, being unable to sing. Seeing that they needed the money, Lucy takes her place, and quickly becomes a hit with the crowd [Pssshhh…. Anyone can sing Total Eclipse of the Heart. Try something challenging like anything by the Cocteau Twins]. They make enough money to fix the car and continue on their way.
Shortly after the group checks into a motel, Kit tells the girls about a rumor that she had heard about Ben, commenting that he had recently been released from jail, after killing someone [Hopefully Kit’s fiancé]. The girls then spend most of the journey feeling uneasy around him until they confront him. Ben reveals that he was in jail for driving his stepsister across state borders without parental consent because his stepfather was abusing her [I hate how much I’m already loving Ben’s selflessness]. Having established that Ben was not the assassin that they imagined him to be, Lucy and Ben grow closer especially after she reads him a poem she wrote about growing up in life [I doubt it has as many theosophical references as a Yeats work]. The girls talk properly to each other for the first time since they were kids [Hi]. Lucy reveals that her mother left her and her father when she was a child [Stop being a total fucking downer, Lucy!], but she is convinced that her mother wants to find her, but is too scared [Mom’s been at that across-state-lines Target for quite a while now, huh?]. Kit, who was overweight as a child, has an overbearing mother who sent her to “fat camp” but now cannot stand that her daughter is more beautiful than her [Fucking deal with it, Lady]. Mimi reveals that her baby’s father is not her ex-boyfriend.
After they arrive in Tucson, Lucy finds her mother Caroline; however, Caroline is not happy to see Lucy. She reveals that she has remarried, and that she now has two sons ages seven and ten [Where’d she find them; aisle 9? #DadJoke]. She reveals to Lucy that she was an unintended pregnancy and that she wants nothing to do with her, and Lucy leaves the house heartbroken. As she promptly arrives at the motel, Ben comforts her and impresses her by writing some music to her poem [Did he cast any odd spells over his fancy lute a.k.a. geetar?]. The following day, Lucy rejoins the others and goes on to Los Angeles. When they arrive, Kit brings Mimi along to surprise her fiancé, Dylan [Why would her fiancé Dylan want the ugly with the hottie? Must be like having veggies with your mac & cheese, I guess]. While alone in the hotel, Lucy gives her virginity to Ben and they fall in love with each other. When Kit and Mimi arrive to Dylan’s place, it is revealed that he is cheating on Kit after they see another girl in his apartment. Already upset, Kit suddenly realizes that it was Dylan who raped Mimi [Gasp!] and got her pregnant [Double Gasp!!], and she punches him. Scared, Mimi runs away and falls down the stairs. Consequently, she loses her baby [Mimi, quit making this all about YOU!!!]. The girls comfort her as she comes to terms with her loss as she had decided to keep the baby.
Because of this, Lucy decides to call her father to take her and the girls back home [He can’t, he has work early in the morning]. However, her father is still putting pressure on Lucy to do what he wants [Such as go to bed early, so that you’re fresh for work in the a.m.]. Kit and Mimi tell her that they think she should go to the audition [interview] in Mimi’s place. She initially declines, but when she gets into her father’s car, after the entire journey, she realizes that everything that she has done has been to please her father instead of herself. Lucy tells her father to let her go and she runs after Ben, they embrace and kiss each other [Ewwww…. Cooties!]. She and the girls head off to the audition [don’t make me correct you girls again!] with Ben and receive a standing ovation after their performance of Lucy’s song, “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman”. [This doesn’t seem like a magical work of Yeats, but I will give it a listen or nine]
In the end, the girls bury their “wish box” at the beach, this time deciding not to make any wishes in the future but instead to focus on the present and their friendship. [Good idea. I mean if Aladdin had sworn off wishes then he’d never get that Jasmine ass, or vanquish Jafar. Have fun leading vapid lives, y’all]
-Adam.
