Ted Kravitz discusses Lewis Hamilton responding to Toto Wolff saying he’s at one with himself at the 2016 Chinese GP.
Ted: why you giving me that funny look?
Simon: I don’t know where you’re going
Ted: Toto Wolff said in the press conference on Saturday night that you know we’ve seen this Lewis Hamilton be so at one with himself and it’s so fantastic to see. And then we asked Lewis about what Toto had said. And Lewis came out with this thing I hadn’t heard before: Nice to hear that from Toto. He’s a very big part of the journey I’m on. You know earlier in my life throughout my life friends used to say to me Lewis you don’t know who you are. It’s like you’re searching for yourself. But now I’ve found myself found my identity. Didn’t work for him today of course but that’s another thing. We just know how centered he is and if you’re a Lewis Hamilton fan out there you know that he’ll overcome these difficulties. Enough to give him the world championship? Who knows.
#bleeding love blaring in the background as if to foreshadow#I love ted but sometimes he deserves a phantom smack#it was not enough#I have know idea how to transcribe Ted describing lewis describing what his friends said#Chinese gp 2016#China 2016#Toto Wolff#Lewis Hamilton#Ted’s notebook#Sky F1 Post Race Coverage

You knew attending a Formula 1 Grand Prix would be hectic – after all, you had just ended the Asian leg of your world tour, and Miami was always swarming with press – but you did not expect just how chaotic things would get.
“It’s great being here!” You flashed a bright smile to Martin Brundle, who was currently following you around the pitlane as apart of Sky Sports’s coverage. “Obviously, I’m here to support Ferrari, who have so kindly invited me this weekend, but I’m just really excited to feel the energy and watch the race.”
Martin nods, a sly smile creeping onto his face. “I just have to ask, out of pure curiosity, of course: Is it true that Carlos Sainz personally invited you to attend this weekend’s race?”
You laugh, casting a nervous look to your publicist, who shakes her head with a stern look. You turn back to Martin and the camera, an apologetic look on your face as you recite the statement your agency has prepared for you. “I really don’t know much, it was Ferrari’s PR team who reached out to me, after all. So, whatever the rumours say, just know I’m as clueless as you are!”
That gets a laugh out of Martin, at the very least, and you think that he’s about to leave you alone. However, unfortunately for you, you’ve just reached the Ferrari garage, and are greeted by the sight of none other than Carlos Sainz himself standing at the entrance, chatting with his engineer.
Your publicist almost immediately motions for you to step aside, but Martin is one step ahead of her as he grabs your arm, tugging you along with him as he makes a beeline towards the Spaniard.
“You know what – Why don’t we ask the man himself?” he grins deviously, steadfastly making his way into the Ferrari garage.
You stutter out weak protests, casting doubtful looks to your publicist. But she merely sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose, gesturing for you to go ahead with Martin. You shrug, following Martin into the Ferrari garage. Not that you have much of a choice – the presenter seems unshakeable as he heads towards Carlos, who has his back turned, blissfully unaware of the chaos approaching him.
“Carlos! Carlito! My man!”
The Ferrari driver grins, whipping around as Martin claps a hand on his back. “Martin! What brings you to the gara-”
As his gaze shifts from Martin to you, his voice trails off. Time seems to slow – A red heat spreads across his face, and he ducks his head down in a fit of sudden coughs. You stand by Martin’s side with a small smile, extending your hand to offer him a water bottle.
“You okay?” you ask with a teasing smile.
Carlos nods furiously, a large hand reaching out to take the water bottle from you. His fingertips brush yours as he does so, and butterflies erupt in your stomach. He blushes harder at the brief moment of contact, turning his face away from you as he gulps down the water, still spluttering.
Amidst a few weak coughs, he grits out, “Choked on my spit,” before clearing his throat, raising his head to flash you a shy smile.
Martin sends you a knowing smirk, chuckling lowly. “Come on, what happened to being the ‘Smooth Operator’, huh?”
You roll your eyes playfully, returning Carlos’s meek smile with a bright grin. “Oh, lay off him, Martin.”
Turning to Carlos now, you extend your hand with what you hope is your friendliest smile, “Nice to meet you, Carlos! I’m Y/N.”
“I know,” he blurts out, all too quickly. His cheeks flush red, and he clears his throat awkwardly. “I mean, yeah, I know... ‘Cause, well, I like your music. It’s really good.”
Martin cuts in, microphone in hand, “So, Carlos, word ‘round here is that you were the one who campaigned for Y/N to be invited. Is that true?”
Carlos rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, suddenly averting his eyes and avoiding your gaze as he smiles shyly. “I don’t know who told you that… I’ll need to have a chat with the team about adding more privacy clauses in their contracts next time.”
You giggle, and that makes his head snap towards you. “Nothing, nothing, ignore me. That was just hilarious.”
“Ignore you?!” Martin exclaims, practically shoving you towards the Ferrari driver, whose eyes have now almost doubled in size. “Oh, come on, you youngsters. Get to know each other! This isn’t the 1920s, you don’t need an old geezer like me to chaperone you all the time. Get chattin’!”
You send Carlos a teasing smile, to which he shyly returns.
“Well, Carlos,” you bump his hip playfully, “How ‘bout a tour of the garage?”
He nods, leaping up and offering you his hand, ever the gentleman. “Of course, it’d be my pleasure.”

Honestly the best thing f1 did was give f1tv its own commentary.
They’re mostly former race car drivers turned commentators so they actually know what’s going on. Less biased than sky sports. Also get the occasional f2 and reserve drivers joining in for some sessions. They also really go into the technical side which is very nice.
And ngl will buxton can be kinda funny. Does he say the most obvious things in dts? Yes but he’s just like that on the broadcast and I appreciate the consistency. And with him you can tell he has favorites if you pay close attention, but it doesn’t typically affect his coverage.
I like Will. He gives himbo vibes 😂
I like the F1TV post race show when they have reserve drivers on and stuff, it’s always good.

We all know my feelings on Sky and pay TV BUT for them to have build up coverage and post-race analysis for F1 Academy, the way they do for every other racing series, is so very very important
#you really do love to see it#I really hope they can keep the YT livestreams for next season bc if F1A goes behind a pay wall I'll be seething#F1 Academy

daniel stans: max B-A-D! needs daniel to repair his PR image and make him likable.
daniel stans: lando B-A-D! -insert conspiracy theory of your choice about how he's talentless and only outperformed daniel due to favoritism-
daniel stans: oscar B-A-D! hope he flops for sealing my amazing, talented baby waby's seat!
then there's me, hoping he just decides to retire and get into commentating or something because he can't even go to a team as a 3rd driver without his stans spreading toxicity everywhere he goes.
and frankly, I'm just going to say it: i know other max fans get frustrated at the way checo fans talk about max. trust me, i don't like it either. but as someone who supports both red bull and mclaren, trust me when i say daniel's fans would be much worse.
lots of dts converts who legitimately believe daniel was better than max and had to leave red bull because they were needlessly favoring max (basically the same shit you hear about lando and mclaren), lots of people who genuinely believe every other driver is evil and needs goofy daniel to teach them how to be good/fun people, lots of people who were literally willing to put their entire fucking moral code aside and harass the social media admin of a mental health charity because "oh my god, you allow mclaren to promote your charity when they just fired my fav multimillionaire driver? you're absolutely useless!!!" also like, checo fans will make shit conspiracy theories about max needing favoritism to win or beat his teammate or whatever, but Dan stans take conspiracy theories to a whole new level. most of the shit you've seen about how lando got into f1? completely inaccurate, started by a salty dan stan who couldn't accept him being outperformed.
like I do think, especially if the frontrunners are closer and checo doesn't improve his performance, red bull should look into replacing him, but trust me - replacing him with daniel would do NOTHING for the toxic teammate (remember, he left because he couldn't accept being 2nd driver to begin with) or the toxic fan dynamic the team is already dealing with.
You really just dropped the best anon I’ve gotten and dipped oh my god😭😭
But I agree with all of this. The amount of people who are saying how Daniel being back is going help Max for his image and show him how to be fun again is literally a joke. If people watched red bull content over Sky Sports they would see that Max is literally so fun, so nice and so chill when he’s around people he is comfortable with. The Lando and Oscar thing I agree with too, neither have done anything wrong at all. Oscar got a seat he deserved and Lando was racing which is what he is there to do yes McLaren fucked up calls for Daniel but that isn’t Lando’s fault and the amount of people wishing Oscar the worst season ever are just fucking annoying and constantly commenting under his posts are fucking weird.
I don’t mind Dan being here for PR honestly I don’t overly car but I wouldn’t want him in the car cause of his fans who have in all honestly turned me off him. They shit on Max, Christian and red bull so much, saying how now they have to support them, I’ve seen some people saying how they want Max or Checo to get sick but Dan left he did that. Like look I’m glad he’s happy and he’s content with his decision but he isn’t the driver, he is there to drag in the views but I’ve already seen people commenting under Max posts “give us Daniel” and all that shit and honestly the thought of just reading all of it is annoying. There was an article about how Max wants to do his own sim time and people were jumping to abuse him cause they interpreted it as him not wanting Daniel to do it…like tf.
The thing with DTS did really annoy me cause Daniel must have known that Max was being unfairly treated but he was getting the best coverage cause he was portrayed as the fun, happy driver and anyone who upset him deserved to be abused. At least Max stands up for the others who got fucked over as well, he doesn’t ignore it. Like he is a grown ass man who has not preformed and as you said the social media admin got abused for literally nothing and it will always be funny for me to see them and other talking about mental health when they abuse Lando and Oscar and every turn.
I think he should have never left Renault and he fucked up and now he’s back because he didn’t want the Haas seat cause he doesn’t want to be at the back but he also doesn’t want to be second to Max??? Like right now he isn’t a first driver personally I think for a top team. If Checo got dumped then I’d prefer to see an actual red bull youngest take it tbh. Daniel coming back into this team is for PR and that’s all I can see it being, I can’t see him being a number 1 in a top team and I can’t see him being number 2 with Max unless he drops the ego
#anon💜#dude this anon was perfect holy shit#go you#this isn’t to abuse Daniel PSA#just calling out the shit his fans are up to now

We have to keep remembering: We are only 2 races in.
We have no idea how the rest of this 22 race calendar will turn out. Don’t write off drivers, don’t write off constructors, don’t think this is it for your faves.
People will improve and others will fuck up. Just like testing means nothing, so do these first races.

Some of y'all have terrible takes sometimes.
A lot of people hate Lance and feel like he's taking up a place at Aston Martin, therefore not allowing younger drivers a chance to come up, aka Felipe Drugovich.
If my dream was to be a F1 driver and my father had the money to, not only fund me but buy a racing team to ensure my participation, you will have to pry that seat out of my cold, dead hands.
Lance is still young enough to win a champion if Aston Martin ever got their car together. Alonso could leave the sport for all I care, he's had his time. He even retired. Whoever let him back in should be fired.

I’m fucking pissed.
Sky sports had the audacity to take the W Series coverage from Channel 4 and can’t even show a podium ceremony because of a red flag that cut into the qualifying preshow.
Fuck you Sky Sports. If you’re not going to provide proper coverage, don’t fucking bother.

I’m a bit late, but these are my favourite quotes/moments from Grill The Grid. Not in chronological order
“Ocon is way up here” - Lewis Hamilton
“Really? He claims that?!” - Lance Stroll
“Charles is gonna hate me!” Pierre Gasly
Various renditions of “Tsunoda is down here” - Everyone.
“Then Charles” “No” - Fernando Alonso
“No, he’s not. He’s not. Ask the engineers, I know it.” - Sebastian Vettel
*Charles figuring out how his lie makes no sense because Daniel should be taller than him*
“If they tell you another thing, it’s wrong.” - Esteban Ocon
“Lando?! Lando. Has he had grown spurt since I last saw him because that’s not true.” - Alex Albon
“Mick and Lando are the same height? All behind me? Poor Lando” - Charles Leclerc
“Norris is not towards the bottom then? I think that’s a lie.” - Nicholas Latifi
“Sebastian is 175. He told us 176. Oh. He cheated.” - Mick Schumacher
*Sebastian refusing to believe that Lando is the same height as him.* Same bestie.
*Pierre thinking Lewis was the 5th tallest on the grid*
*Alonso getting scared because they haven’t said his name yet.*
“Go on Yuki.” - Lewis Hamilton, while looking at the floor.
“And Lewis is 190.” - Sebastian Vettel
“So I’m actually like, the 4th tallest driver here. So that’s pretty awesome.” - Lewis Hamilton
A video proving men lie about their height and work place bullying is a thing

Hiii!! Where did you find the picture of charles almost falling over and his mechanic catching him, is there a clip too?? Sorry, it's got everyone confused
Hi anon!
I was watching the pre-race broadcast on sky go app on my phone, when I saw Charles almost falling I took the screenshot and told the story to the gc sending the picture bc I was like “yay injuring himself just before race start”
I really think it was exclusive Sky Italy coverage, bc there is always a Sky Italy reporter and cameraman on the grid and since in the screen there was no F1 logo I think it was their footage (also bc Italy loves Charles so there is the Charles Cam pre-race rip)
So I really don’t know how you can recover the clip? I have recorded the pre-race on my sky app but unfortunately you can’t record it on your laptop-phone bc it’s blocked by sky, so idk you have to trust us it happened? Sky didn’t post the clip on their website (and why would they, even if I wish they did) so I really don’t know how to make it aviable, sorry😭
#anon ask#ask loki#i didn’t know yall were going crazy about that clip#but yes it happened and it was as always#italian sky my beloved

Ok I’m talking about sky f1 pundits but yeah they said Perez or Hamilton, and wouldn’t rule verstappen out
Mainly referencing race pace of Ferrari not Charles skill, but it just shows how people are skewed by some results and forgetting others. Like Charles still won in Austria recently
Having said all this would love a lewis win
oooohhhh okay sorry i missed all of the post quali coverage but that’s fucking strange to me like. charles has been ahead of perez all weekend in all conditions…..interesting
#i know they were close in quali#but that’s bc the track evolution was insane and charles set his lap a full minute and a half before perez#….i don’t get it#asks#anon

Hi! Where do you watch f1 live? Any streaming sites?
Hello! 🥰
I'm currently paying for Polish coverage on this one streaming website. I also have access to F1TV (shared account) but only really use that for onboards and the "extras" like the pre and post race shows, the analyses (sometimes there's extra content in there), interview clips, etc. I just find our native coverage a lot more palatable even if they don't have as exclusive access to the paddock as the Sky/F1TV team. They're generally a lot less biased and don't have a boner for "back in my day" stories like Crofty and Brundle and that gang. The FP and qualy sessions have ads but the race doesn't.
F1TV is probably still the best option in terms of being legit and providing access to all the sessions in several languages (German, Spanish, French and Dutch I believe), but it's a pay service and the Pro version isn't available in every country, so you'd have to check first if it's available for you.
As for streaming sites, I guess your best bet is to Google something along the lines of sky sports f1 livestream and check out the results. Just from a cursory search I found the cricfree.pw stream worked for me. I also found this but haven't really tested it out. If anyone else has any suggestions feel free to chip in!

Hey, just wanted to pop by and say thank you for uploading all the Channel 4 F1 stuff! I absolutely adore their coverage and they do so many great things which I just don’t see on my dash (most folks will watch live so Sky I guess). So just wanted to say thanks! 🤍
Hope you have a great day ✌🏻
Thank you for the lovely message, anon! 🥰 And you're very welcome—I'm glad you enjoy the C4F1 stuff as much as I do.
I must admit, I caved in and started watching coverage live on Sky last year, because I was too impatient to wait for the highlights on Channel 4, but I still always watch their pre- and post-quali/race coverage afterwards. I'm also a big fan of the vibe of the C4F1 coverage, and they have some great interviews and features. Plus, I kind of love Steve Jones 😁
I miss the days when they use to show half the races live (damn you, Sky broadcasting rights), but at least we still get highlights and Silverstone live!
Thanks again for the message, and I hope you have a great day too 🧡

if you heard more about lando's p2 than Daniel's win... then we must be seeing different coverage. i'm in the uk, watch sky f1 and read british-written media.
the hype danny got from monza was massive. the f1 page looked like a daniel-mclaren fanpage for a good week and a half.
but it was also McLaren's first win in nine years, and more importantly *eleven* years since their last 1-2. that 1-2 wouldn't have happened if lando didn't finish in second, which was *also* his best result in f1 to date.
daniel got a whole lot more coverage than lando, who also deserved what he got for his best result yet. they both qualified well, "sprinted" well and raced well in the grand prix.
ultimately, daniel won. he got the most coverage. if you think otherwise then maybe your algorithms have been trained to show you more lando? i have no idea, bc danny def got the most media coverage.
<33
I know from when I looked on sites after the race it was all Daniel, or I did stop watching after about 5 minutes after post race stuff started so maybe I just missed out on dan stuff

Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta AXED from Sky Sports' coverage of Formula One
Johnny Herbert is AXED from Sky Sports' F1 coverage after 10 YEARS as a pundit while former Grand Prix driver Paul di Resta also leaves ahead of the new season Sky have confirmed the departures of pundits Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta Herbert has also revealed he will not be part of the presenting team for 2023 Fellow Brit Di Resta is likely to be spending time continuing his on-track career By Dan Ripley for MailOnline Published: 05:31 EST, 26 January 2023 | Updated: 05:37 EST, 26 January 2023 Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta have been axed from Sky Sports' coverage of Formula One ahead of the 2023 season. The former grand prix drivers have been regulars to viewers' screens over the years, with Herbert having been part of the original presenting team when Sky gained the broadcasting rights back in the 2012 season. 'Johnny has been an integral part of our Formula One team since the very first season on Sky Sports in 2012,' a Sky spokesperson told Sportsmail. Johnny Herbert has been axed from Sky Sports' presenting team ahead of the 2023 season 'We will miss his humour and big personality and thank him for his energy and enthusiasm over the last 11 years. Everyone wishes him all the best for the future.' Herbert had hinted he was leaving the Sky Sports team on social media after posting a picture of the Sky Sports' on-screen personalities with the caption 'going to miss the team'. Fellow Sky colleague Natalie Pinkham replied with 'Johnny, love you forever ever' as she appeared to acknowledge his exit, while another on-screen Rachel Brookes claimed it 'won't be the same' without the former two time grand prix winner. Herbert (right) had been part of Sky's F1 coverage since their inaugural season in 2012 Herbert has also confirmed his departure, telling LastLapLucy: 'I'll be around but I'll not be at Sky this year unfortunately. 'But there are other things I'll be getting involved with. I'll be at Silverstone for sure, and the Monaco Grand Prix. 'I'll have various things going on, but I'll be karting - although not racing! I'll be enjoying life on the track as well as life off the track.' Former grand prix star Paul di Resta will also not be part of Sky Sports coverage for the season Di Resta's exit could come as a result of a busy racing schedule as he is due to feature in the World Endurance Championship as well as the European Le Mans series which clash with Formula One weekends. Both are unlikely to be replaced and Sky have also confirmed their on-screen team for 2023. It will consist of familiar faces to viewers including: Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Naomi Schiff, Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, Karun Chandhok, Anthony Davidson, Natalie Pinkham, Ted Kravitz, Danica Patrick, Simon Lazenby, David Croft and Rachel Brookes.
