In turn there wasn't really anything the purple cassette himself liked about the Insecticon. In general really he didn't like anyone who wasn't himself, Frenzy or another cassette. Even if the idea of mass destruction with a side of lightening sounded delightfully terrible.
Much to his disliking, he was being sidelined from a mission and waiting on another. He hated having to wait. Waiting was for Autobots! He had found his place on the ground, legs sprawled out and arms folded. He looked less than thrilled either. ( @metallightningbug )
@forgottenbodyandmemories
There were thus far exactly two things Shrapnel liked about Rumble, his general chaotic energy and the fact that the cassette was shorter than him. That was generally also the extent of what the Insecticon knew about him, given that they had rarely interacted.
Currently they were both stuck sitting around, waiting for the signal to do their part in executing another one of Megatron's plans. He couldn't deny that thunderstorms and earthquakes sounded like a fun combination, however the exact purpose of this little cooperation was a mystery to him. Maybe Shrapnel would have managed to understand the plan if he had paid a little more attention... In the end it didn't matter as long as he was getting his promised reward.

Transformers vs. The Terminator #2: Enemy of My Enemy - part 2
Read Date: August 24, 2023 Cover Date: June 2020 ● Writer: David Mariotte ◦ John Barber ● Art: Alex Milne ● Colorist: David García Cruz ● Letterer: Jake M. Wood ● Editor: Tom Waltz ◦ Riley Farmer ◦ Megan Brown ●
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers (👏=didn't like it, 👏👏=it was ok, 👏👏👏=I liked it, 👏👏👏👏=I really liked it!, 👏👏👏👏👏=I loved it!)
Reactions As I Read: ● they spelled the noise! “tsche che chu sche chu”! I’m so delighted by this
● 👏👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: With the Ark having reawakened Megatron and his Decepticons, it seems as though nothing can spoil the Decepticon leader's moment of triumph as he levels his fusion cannon at the still-dormant Optimus Prime… but he didn't bargain on the T-800! Although his first shotgun blast simply bounces off his enemy's armor, Megatron's bemused overconfidence gives the Terminator—armed with superhuman aim and extensive knowledge of Cybertronian weak points—an opening to take out his left optic with one well-placed shot! Wounded and furious, Megatron orders Starscream and Soundwave to destroy the intruder. The Terminator's unwilling companion Sarah Connor weighs her options and decides to make a run for it before the aliens notice her, but Soundwave detects her presence and dispatches Ravage to eliminate her.
Soundwave and Starscream struggle to pin down the smaller and more maneuverable T-800, but Megatron's chief concern is getting his fellow Decepticons back online, using Teletraan I's restorative beam to repair and reactivate the remaining Decepticons before eliminating the stasis locked-Autobots. In the meantime, the Terminator withstands Soundwave's sonic blasts and Skywarp's lasers, then returns fire by hefting a discarded Cybertronian weapon off the ground and using it to send the purple Seeker flying. Ravage pursues Sarah Connor as the human clambers up a nearby cable and the chase takes them onto Teletraan's console. Ravage's pounce knocks the computer's scanner so that the repair beam intended for Skrapnel hits Optimus instead; as Starscream and Soundwave try to pin down the Terminator, they're caught off-guard when the revitalized Autobot leader promptly catches the two by surprise and sends them both sprawling! The Decepticons promptly break off their attack on the Terminator and turn their attention to Prime; correctly deducing that there might be two factions at play here, Sarah turns the Ark's repair systems on another robot who sports Optimus Prime's symbol… and, a few seconds later, Bumblebee joins the fight!
A panicked Starscream assumes that all the Autobots are coming back to life and orders a retreat. Despite his low opinion of the air commander, Megatron sees wisdom in Starscream's words, and orders his Decepticons to fall back as he blasts a hole in the side of the ship and flies off. The explosion leaves Prime and Bumblebee shaken but unhurt… but Prime, dismayed, notes the collateral damage has killed many Autobots and left more badly injured. Optimus thanks his strange rescuer for intervening, but the Terminator, now reduced to his metal endoskeleton, informs the pair that they too must be terminated!
The Terminator lands a shot on Optimus before Bumblebee wrestles him to the ground, but all three of the robots stop in their tracks when Sarah intervenes, and points out that, as far as she can tell, the Terminator's aggression makes him the real menace. An intrigued Optimus helps her down from the console while mulling over the prospect of sentient organics. Sarah demands an explanation of the Terminator's mission and whether she should simply let the two bigger machines destroy him. The Terminator finally admits the course that history takes from this point: after the Mount St. Hilary eruption awakens the Cybertronians, Megatron's war against humanity will prompt the people of Earth to form Skywatch, an anti-Transformer taskforce, and develop the Skynet supercomputer network to coordinate armies of man-made Terminator robots. But, despite Skynet's efforts, the war will end with total Cybertronian victory, the complete conquest of Earth… and mankind's extinction. Skynet only survives by feigning surrender and secretly constructing a time machine to retroactively win the war, but the Terminator's explanation deliberately omits the other part of his time-travelling mission—to ensure the creation of Skynet.
Although Bumblebee's unmoved, Optimus mulls over the implications of this story. In the Terminator's future, he eventually concludes, he and the Autobots must have died today, or else they surely would've stood up against Megatron's tyranny. Thus, the Terminator's interference has already altered the timeline; if that's true, Prime concludes, then they still have a chance to work together, prevent this dire future from ever coming to pass, and ensure the freedom of all sentient beings on Earth—biological or mechanical. With Sarah's encouragement, the Terminator weighs his options and then, reluctantly, accepts Prime's truce. The strange alliance ratified, Optimus asks for Sarah's help with reviving more Autobots; Sarah accepts, if he'll take her home afterwards… but when the Autobot leader assumes his new alternate mode, based on the truck that the Terminator hijacked to get them to Oregon in the first place, the reminder causes her to turn down the free ride.
On Oregon's west coast, the Decepticons regroup at a beach, where Starscream explains that their mysterious attacker was a cleverly-disguised machine, not one of the planet's native organic sentients. The fragile humans should give them no trouble, and Starscream illustrates this point by casually annihilating a nearby group of beachgoers. Pleased at the prospect of easy conquest, Megatron turns his attention to Refraktor and the Insecticons as they return from scouting the surrounding area for energy. Bombshell reports that they've found a suitable power source to fuel their invasion: a nearby robotics laboratory that he suspects might be connected to their mechanical foe. The Decepticons eagerly lay siege to the lab, unaware of the building's portentous position in history… the Cyberdyne Systems factory!

So either frenzy and rumble gave skrapnel (shrapnel?) the pointer finger or they scavenged, found it and was like “the power of the finger”
I use the name Shrapnel for them! And the pointer finger thing was a gift from the cassette duo! The Insecticons are huge large, so Shrappy needed a big one.

episode 16.
Is this Cube? /j
wait a sec all the captions on that page are Destiny related sdjfhsdjkfhskjdfh
SAY THE LINE, STARSCREAM!
That’s……………………not quite how that went when Alex told the story 🤔 It seemed pretty obvious in his telling that Megatron was still leading the Decepticons when the spacebridge got destroyed. I know they pointed out that he was really simplifying things at the time but still. the order of events seems kinda important to get right
Also I guess Soundwave never really looked like his G1 version in this continuity? Seems like a bit of a weird choice but maybe they just didn’t wanna have to make another model
Megs also seems surprised by the fact that the bridge got blown up so 👀 blease I wanna know everything
Hgdjkfhgfjghjd
HSJLFDHLJKFHSDLJDFGLHJSDE MEGATRON’S THERE?????????????? *shrek voice* he doesn’t even get to play himself 😔
PLEASE LET THE MAN SPEAK
HASHTAG THIS IS NOT THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
oh shit they’re referencing the spark flowers from IDW1, damn
maybe there’s a message here but it looks to be mostly gibberish and I ain’t gonna take the time to go through all of it just in case. At least not right now
I’ve already seen a post comparing Blitzwing to the pointing wojak meme but I mean. It really does look like that sdjfhgsjdhfs
It woulda been neat if the graffiti was this ↓ but that mighta been a bit much to hope for
The text here is the same gibberish but upside-down and mirrored I guess for variety? But the fact that it now looks right-aligned just makes it look super out of place imo
Also it’s getting squished at the bottom (top?) instead of cut off, which is interesting
Your darkest hour, you say 👀
SDHFGDSJHFGSJH YOU CALL THAT SNEAKING???
Why is Shockwave’s head so dang small
“We began this war so none would kneel” OH? DO TELL 👀👀👀
I mean I don’t really wanna rehash the “Cybertronian government was corrupt and both the Autobots and Decepticons wanted change but the Decepticons were more ~violent~ about it” but then again without the idea of a frame type it’s a bit less. Bad
He did this at the beginning too obviously but Why exactly is Bee apologizing to Skrapnel. Was he with the Autobots for a bit???
Why are they replaying the whole dang thing. To fill time???
“I get why it started, but once it became Autobot vs Decepticons-“ PLEASE…………..DEETS…………..
JKSADHFSJSDKLJGHFDJKGHKSJKDFH “WHO DID THIS?”
man comes up here like “At last we meet again” and then refuses to believe any significant amount of time has passed? Lmao
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm there’s a Lot I could get into there but it’s late and I got a finale to watch so
OH NO WHY DOES IT MAKE THEM GRAY D:
Alien crab mech tank thing seems to be the standard Shockwave alt nowadays but once again I do wish Gun was an option
“ugly giant bags of mostly water”
………………………….I know what he meant but the way Thrash worded it made it sound like he did in fact shit himself, he just doesn’t wear pants
“Do better” is really not helpful like. I get that they’re kids and all but more concrete info on what the differences were between the factions and how they got exacerbated to the point of potentially killing their entire planet and advice on how to stop things before they escalate that far would be a Lot more useful.
this episode gave us a lot but still somehow managed to not answer anything satisfactorily aaaaaahhhhhh
--
actually I think I’m gonna save the finale for tomorrow I’m getting tired

Transformers vs. The Terminator #4: Enemy of My Enemy - part 4
Read Date: August 26, 2023 Cover Date: September 2020 ● Writer: David Mariotte ◦ John Barber ● Art: Alex Milne ● Colorist: David García Cruz ● Letterer: Jake M. Wood ● Editor: Tom Waltz ◦ Riley Farmer ●
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers (👏=didn't like it, 👏👏=it was ok, 👏👏👏=I liked it, 👏👏👏👏=I really liked it!, 👏👏👏👏👏=I loved it!)
Reactions As I Read: ● Starscream gonna Starscream 😂 ● I also love how they treat Soundwave's speech bubbles. I never forget to hear his creepy robotic voice when I see those speech bubbles
● 👏👏👏👏
Synopsis: Starscream's made an offer he's sure the T-800 can't turn down: since his robotic foe hails from the future, he gloats that the timeline now hangs on whether or not he executes the Cyberdyne Systems employees he's holding hostage—and he will spare the humans, but only if the Terminator returns the favor by helping him to depose Megatron. But what Starscream doesn't realize is that the Terminator has already seen through his ploy by analyzing the captives, deducing that none of them are crucial to Skynet's creation, and feigning surrender; unaware of the deceit, Starscream lays out his plan…
Sarah Connor takes cover inside Cyberdyne's parking booth, where she uses the two-way radio to try and contact the Ark for reinforcements. She gets no answer, however, and the situation gets worse when Ravage locks on to her position. Surrounded on all sides by the Decepticons shortly after Arcee slays Kickback, it seems like the end for the trio of her, Bumblebee, and Velocity… until Soundwave detects Sarah's transmission and breaks off from the fight to investigate. He deduces that she cannot reach the Ark, but before he can inform Megatron that there are no Autobot reinforcements on the way, Starscream swoops overhead and blasts him through the torso! As Megatron duels Optimus Prime, Starscream swoops in over the pair and ejects the Terminator from his cockpit. This living missile streaks right towards Megatron, but even his heavy-duty weapons only dent the Decepticon leader's thick armor. Tired of the irritating little robot, Megatron contemptuously hurls his attacker back into the sky, and his impact against Starscream's cockpit sends the Air Commander crashing to the ground. The interruption gives Prime the opening he needs to cleave his energon-axe straight into Megatron's chest, but in spite of this grievous injury, the Decepticon leader still refuses to surrender.
As Ravage witnesses Starscream's betrayal and Soundwave's near-destruction, he finds himself torn away from his mission to stop Sarah and help Soundwave… and that gives the once-meek human the opportunity to grab a handgun and wrestle the feline Decepticon long enough to shove the gun into his mouth and shoot him through the head. Arcee takes out Skywarp and Thundercracker while Velocity and Bumblebee incapacitate Bombshell and Skrapnel. Sarah tries to pull the badly damaged Terminator out from underneath Starscream, but only retrieves the top half of his body from the wreckage. Starscream has survived the crash, however; as he transforms and prepares to kill the android for his failure, a blast from a furious Soundwave prompts him to make a cowardly retreat. Sparking and leaking, the dying Soundwave accuses the pair of having destroyed the Decepticons… but his words only encourage the pair to join forces and blast him with small-arms fire until he finally collapses.
By the time Bumblebee arrives, Sarah tells him that she couldn't raise Wheeljack, and suspects that nobody's coming to help them. Without legs, the Terminator can't complete his mission; he informs Bumblebee that he needs Bumblebee's help. On his instructions, the yellow Autobot tosses the Terminator to Velocity, who hurls him to Arcee… and as Arcee tosses the T-800 at Megatron, the smaller robot flies right into Megatron's chest wound and blasts his spark! The surge of energy annihilates the Terminator on the spot and rips Megatron apart from the inside; as he dies, Megatron spits defiance at his old friend, who bids him a weary goodbye before turning his attention to their four Decepticon captives. As the Autobots load their prisoners into Optimus's trailer and prepare to return to the Ark, Bumblebee asks Sarah if she'd like to join them as an honorary Autobot. Sarah declines; she'll do what she can to help the human survivors and keep the police off their trail. They'll keep in touch, Sarah promises, and she'll do her best to keep an eye on her alien friends.
Once Optimus and the Autobots arrive at the molten remains of Mount St. Hilary, however, everything becomes clear—the Terminator had always intended to double-cross the Transformers, and his betrayal has left them stranded on Earth without reinforcements or a way home. Velocity can't process the loss, but Optimus urges them to let the past lie and try and find a new way forward. With Megatron gone, Autobots and Decepticons should lay down their arms and live on Earth in secret until they can find a way to return to Cybertron; both sides agree, and as Prime stares out at the lake of molten magma, he briefly eulogizes the Terminator as best he could: in death, he completed his mission and ended the Cybertronian war.
Time passes, and Sarah eventually gets a job at the Skywatch corporation, where she uses her new connections to keep an eye on the Transformers in hiding. It seems a happy ending, and perhaps it might be… if not for Skywatch's new top-secret project. In Skynet's secret Alpha Base, scientists dissect, study, and reverse-engineer Megatron's lifeless remains to create a computerized defense network. Armies of robotic tanks and airborne drones take shape. Legions of skeletal Terminator androids stand ready. Skynet activates… and Megatron lives again.
