Scandinavian Things to Watch
Somebody asked me for some recommendations in regards to Swedish and/or Norwegian T.V. shows so I figured I'd scour the internet for every show and movie I've ever seen and compile a list.
Now I will note that half of these I wouldn't really recommend. A thing about Norwegian shows, you'll always end up in one of these genres: Crime-Drama, A show about an awkward person or immigrant family navigating Norwegian culture, or an uneventful slice of life adult/family show and somehow, more often than not, some environmentalism plot line is threaded throughout each genre. I'm very used to fast paced dramas featuring teens so Norwegian series are quite the opposite. This is me admitting that I think most Norwegian shows and movies are so slow and boring. Also I hate Crime-Dramas. With that being said, I do try to get through the first couple of episodes/minutes and can recognize when a show is potentially good but if it requires my full attention to keep up, I'm not finishing it. I can't say if this crosses over into Swedish shows and I'm only just starting to get into Danish shows. Some of these are still on my To Be Seen and I definitely forgot to list others but it's been years since I've seen them so...🤷🏽‍♀️
Where To Watch: Most of these are on Netflix. Some were and are now gone, others have been added once I moved to Sweden. Some are on NRK which I used mostly when I was in Norway. You could get by with a VPN but NRK knows when you're using one and you'll have to restart it every two episodes. Viaplay is a Nordic streaming service that's only like 5 bucks a month, accessible anywhere but again, the selection varies depending on location.
Norwegian Movies:
Blasted (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, Two dudes fight aliens
Royalteen (Netflix) Drama, An average girl gets a prince to fall in love with her. In Royalteen 2, we follow the prince's sister who's working through personal issues.
Thelma (Netflix, Viaplay) TBS GAY - Horror, Something about romance and magic powers?
The Man Who Loved Yngve (Idk) TBS GAY - Drama, Romance
Norwegian Dream (Idk) TBS GAY - Coming of Age, Drama
The Trip (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, An old couple fights to see who can kill each other first instead of just getting a divorce
Troll (Netflix) - Drama, Action? A government team and Archeologist(?) try to stop an old troll from destroying the town
Troll Hunter (Netflix) - "Found Footage" People chase a troll idk
The Wave (Netflix) - Action Drama, People run from a massive wave
Battle (Netflix) - Drama, Featuring Lisa Teige who played Eva in Skam as a ballet dancer battling for the top spot I think, I never finished it.
Disco (NRK) - Drama, Which features Noora's(Skam) actress Josephine Frida Pettersen as a dancer juggling religion and passion.
Det Norske Hus (Netflix) - Comedy, A man crosses the boarder to attend a school that will teach him how to be Norwegian
The Lion Woman (Used to be on Netflix) - Whimsical Drama, A man protects a young hairy girl from being the town freak
The Affair (Viaplay) - Dark Drama, featuring Tarjei Sandvik Moe or Isak from Skam, A student gets dirty with a teacher and then stalks the teacher
Kitchen Stories (Idk) - Comedy? I had to watch this for school. I found it boring but Norwegian people like it. An Anthropologist(?) watches over a Norwegian man to study how Norwegians use kitchens
Norwegian Shows:
SKAM GAY for a season- Come on, you can't be on Tumblr and NOT know this show. This listing includes EVERY remake. Especially the American one (it's on NRK you nords) Every non-American only hates it because our culture is so different from Europe's, its giving xenophobia. Find the shows yourself, it's a rite of passage.
Ligga (Discovery+) TBS GAY- Comedy, featuring Ulrikke Falch, Vilde from Skam, A girl gets dumped and discovers casual sex. To be seen because I think it's only on Discovery Plus in Norway.
Ragnorok (Netflix) GAY for like 2 minutes - Mythology, featuring sexy babes from Skam Magnus, P. Cris, and my gf Sonja. The story of Thor versus the Giants. Fun Fact I actually don't care about this show, mainly this genre of show, but I challenged myself to watch it entirely in Norwegian without subtitles since season one and it's done so I win.
Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes (Netflix) TBS - Dark Comedy, Funeral directors get up to some morally corrupt shenanigans. I got half way through the first episode and gave up.
Øyevitne TBS (Eyewitness U.S. version on the USA Network) GAY- Crime Thriller, I haven't seen the original yet bc I can't find it anywhere. Also I said I didn't like this genre but the Scandis do know how to make 'em. Two boys witness a murder that could solve a massive crime ring but are too scared to come forward bc they don't wanna be outed as ~lovers~ The acting in the American version is a little rough but don't let that stop you! This is the only English speaking show on this list.
Ida Tar Ansvar (Viaplay) - Ironic Comedy? A girl who is just terrified of the real world befriends an Incel in hopes of changing him/saving women. The main actress is also in Royalteen and the main actor is actually Kasper from Skam!
Lillyhammer (Used to be on Netflix) - Crime Comedy, An old American gangster moves to a small part of Lillehammer, Norway to hide and life ensues. This was actually the first Norwegian series I watched post-Skam. There's speaking parts in both Norwegian and English but it's an American show. I still recommend it.
Norsemen (Netflix) - Mockumentary, It kind of feels like a Viking Version of The Office. I've seen a few episodes but the humor is very Norwegian and it didn't stick for me.
Beforeigners (Amazon Prime Video) - Drama, Time travelers from the Viking/Stone Age era end up in Modern day Norway. We follow a Detective Traveler Woman solve crimes. I never finished it bc I forgot it existed lol.
Exit (Viaplay, NRK) - Drama, We follow as a bunch of rich people be absolutely terrible human beings. Tbh, I only got to like episode 3, they're just too long.
The Architect (Viaplay) TBS - Drama, I couldn't tell you shit about this show. I got through the first episode and had no idea what was going on but it's filmed very stylistically and I can see it being enjoyable for someone out there.
Delete Me (Viaplay) TBS - Dark Drama, A sex tape gets out and causes problems for many students at this school. I haven't seen it yet bc the plot doesn't interest me but someone else highly recommended it.
Lik Meg (NRK) - Teen Drama, Two girls' friendship gets tested when they enter the 7th grade. I tried watching this when I was in Norway to fill the Skam void but it's definitely geared towards younger audiences so I didn't get far.
19 (NRK) - Same as above, Each season follows a character of a different age so the title of the show changes too I think. I don't know, here's the Wiki. This show focuses on third culture kids.
Skitten Snø (NRK) TBS - Dark Drama, again featuring our child Tarjei Sandvik Moe as he struggles with friendship but in a creepy way? It's hard to find a good description of this one.
Peppa Gris (NRK) - I literally just watched Peppa Pig in Norwegian for language learning purposes. That, Shrek(DVD), Frozen(Illegally) and also Vivo(Netflix).
Klassen (NRK) - Teen Drama, again really geared towards younger audiences. It's a very Disney-like show. I never finished it.
Pørni [or Pernille] (NRK, Netflix, Viaplay) GAY for like 2 minutes - Family Drama/Comedy following a social worker and mother navigating life after her sisters death, her father coming out, and her kids getting older. The characters are all genuinely funny in an endearing way to watch, and it shows genuine/sweet love between older people.
Swedish Movies: (I haven't seen these but they look good)
Black Crab (Netflix) TBS - Dark Drama, A solider has to cross a frozen sea with precious cargo to stop an apocalyptic war.
Låt Den Rätte Komma In (It's online free somewhere & on Swedish Netflix) TBS (Let Me In U.S. version) - Thriller, Something about a vampiric killer kid. I really like the American version so I wanna give the OG a shot.
A Man Called Ove (Netflix, Viaplay) TBS - Drama Comedy, A grumpy old man is mean to his neighbors after the death of his wife, he learns how to enjoy life again, I think.
JJ+E (Netflix) TBS - Teen Drama/Romance, A third culture boy and a Swedish girl fall in love. Will they make it?
Kyss Mig (Viaplay, Used to be on Netflix) TBS GAY - Drama, A young woman who is engaged begins an affair with her future stepmother's lesbian daughter (Can we consider that incest?).
Swedish Shows:
Sjukt (NRK) - Drama Comedy, Loosely based on the life of Young Royals Creator, Lisa Ambjörn. A young women finds a new lease on life after beating Ovarian Cancer. I enjoyed half of it but would rather finish it on a site that isn't NRK.
Young Royals (Netflix) - Teen Drama, beautiful amazing talented show stopping never been done before... A young prince gets sent to a boarding school to tighten up his act when jealousy causes things to fall apart all around him. Obviously recommend.
Gåsmamman (Amazon Prime Video) - Crime Drama, Featuring Young Royals star, Edvin Ryding, as one of the sons to a widowed mother caught up in a crime ring left by her husband. Turns out it goes deeper than what she was expecting. Brace yourself for this intense 6 season, 46 episode long show.
Kontoret (Swedish version of The Office) TBS - Exactly what it sounds like. I haven't bothered to look into it further but it could be fun to see the cultural differences and Swedish nuances.
Quicksand (Netflix) - Dark Drama, also a good one, After a school shooting we follow a girl who was somehow involved. As the plot unravels we find out exactly how. Features Felix Sandman if you're a fan of him.
One More Time (Netflix) TBS - Comedy, I literally just added this to my list. It's "17 Again" mixed with Disney's "16 Wishes."
Thunder in my Heart (Viaplay) TBS - Coming of Age/Family Drama. A lot of these Swedish shows on Viaplay don't have English subtitles so, dead end.
Älska mig (Viaplay) TBS - Drama/Romance, Familiar faces: Edvin Ryding of Young Royals/Gåsmamman! Little stories about people finding and navigating romance.
Ej Kjem (NRK) - Scandalous Drama, A show about a girl navigating life and SEXuality. I couldn't get far with it because it's only in Swedish with NYNORSK subtitles??
Clark (Netflix) TBS - Biography/Comedy? Bill Skarsgård! The unbelievable story of Clark Olofsson, the man who inspired the phrase "Stockholm Syndrome."
Danish Movies:
The Bombardment (Netflix) TBS - Wartime Drama, Based on true events, a WWII bomb hits a school in Copenhagen. (Also if you didn't know, there was A LOT happening with Sweden, Norway, and Denmark during WWII and so there are TONS of good Scandinavian movies set during then. I didn't list them because I'm just not that big a fan of the genre but the history's crazy.)
Danish Shows:
Seaside Hotel (Viaplay) GAY for like 2 seconds but idk if more happens I'm still watching - Drama, set some time in the 1920s. Various kooky guests check into this hotel every summer and life happens, drama unfolds. I was just starting to really get into it but for some reason Viaplay in Sweden doesn't have it 😡.
The Rain (Netflix) - Survival Drama, Toxic rain falls from the sky wiping out almost all humanity. One boy is the cure. Does he save and restore all humankind? I don't know I never finished it. This was when the survival genre was at an all time high. It's a good show but I just couldn't take it anymore.
Rita (Netflix) - Drama Comedy, Rita is an independent girl boss mother who has funny relationships with everyone around her. It's been years since I've seen it but it was pretty popular to the Danes.
Elves (Netflix) TBS - Horror Drama, It's evil elves at Christmas time. I haven't seen it yet but it doesn't look like it's gotten good reviews.
The Chestnut Man (Netflix) TBS - Crime Drama, A creepy chestnut toy links together murders and might be the answer to a politician's missing child.
One of the Boys (Viaplay) GAY - Coming of Age, short drama series. A boy gets sent on this "How to be a man" retreat and flips between changing himself to fit in and accepting his oddball self with this other outsider who is "totally not gay" but I literally don't believe that and it's total queer baiting but there's a kiss scene and it's such a short and easy watch that why not give a chance.
And finally: @notachair asked for this so here you go :)

summary of Skitten Snø, episode 1
Watch on NRK with a vpn here (TRIGGER WARNING: It contains an explicit scene of rape, and i’m also including details of that + the things he’s saying to her, in this summary) [link to summary of episode 2]
Let’s start out with some names so that this makes any sense. The main girl’s name is Sumera. Her two friends are Anila (the shorter one) and Ambar (the taller one). Tarjei’s character’s name is Nicolas (he works as a security guard at the mall where Sumera works). Sumera’s brother is Atif, her ex “fling” is Wasim. Her co-worker is Charlotte. There is also a girl named Nida mentioned, who seems to have been someone Sumera and her friends knew (as i understand, it’s Wasim’s sister).
In the beginning of the episode when Nicolas shows up and orders food from Sumera, she’s obviously nervous, because she asks if he wants the receipt and then proceeds to just stare at him. He says that “it would be nice to get the food though”. She asks him if he’s a regular at Burger King now, and he says that normally he’s more healthy, but there’s been so much work lately. She says that that’s what everybody says. He says he’s leaving since he’s being bullied, and she says she’s not bullying him.  As he leaves, Sumera’s co-worker Charlotte walks up to her and asked what they were talking about, asking if he asked her out or something. Sumera says no. Charlotte answers “good”.
When Sumera is on her way from work, she sees a girl walk past her, and says “Nida?”.
She arrives at Ambar’s place with some dresses, and there’s a party mentioned. In Ambar’s room, Sumera tells Ambar and Anila that “he came in today”. They understand right away that she means Nicolas, and wants her to tell them everything. She says that he all of a sudden just stood there. Ambar jokes and asks if she took him behind the counter. Sumera says she just stood there like an idiot. Ambar asks Sumera to repeat after her and says “I’m sexy”, “I’m pretty”, “I can get whoever i want”.  They proceed to look at the dresses, and mentions that the party is a engagement-party. Ambar thinks the dresses should have an open back and be sleeveless, Anila says her dad would never allow that, and then says she has to go. Instead, Ambar makes them all dance around in her room.
The next scene shows that Charlotte has candid pictures of Nicolas together with women in the mall, on her phone.
In the scene of the engagement-party, Sumera is with her family. Her mother wonders why Anila’s dad is looking at them so angrily. Atif says maybe it’s because he thinks one of them has gotten “too much free rein”, meaning Sumera. He says people are talking. Sumera wonders if “people” are talking, or if GINA is talking, insinuating Gina, who goes to her school, talks a lot of shit/spreads rumours.
Anila tells Sumera and Ambar that her dad isn’t allowing her to dance, because he thinks she wants to show off for men. Ambar exclaims “Shit” and all the girls looks over at a family arriving, which is Wasim and his family.
In the bathroom, Anila says Sumera should stay away from Wasim, since he is dangerous. Sumera says he isn’t, but Anila asks “Then why isn’t Nida here?”, and proceeds to talk about how Nida is probably locked into a house in Pakistan by now. Sumera says she saw Nida yesterday, but that she didn’t tell them because she knew what the reactions would be.  Anila says everyone knows Nida’s family is very strict, and that people saw how Wasim slapped his sister and forced her to come with him, and that nobody has seen her since, and Sumera hasn’t even heard from Wasim since.
When Sumera runs into Wasim, he says she looks good, and she says that it’s been a year and he hasn’t called once. She asks how it’s going with Nida, that it doesn’t seem to go so well, since she saw her yesterday. Wasim says she must’ve seen wrong.  Atif says Sumera shouldn’t talk to Wasim.
Sumera’s mom looks at Wasim and his family and says it’s weird to see them here, that she thought they moved out of town for good because of what happened with Nida.  Wasim sends Sumera a text asking if they can meet up. Something happens and Wasim and his mom leaves.  Sumera’s mom keeps talking about how it’s sad when girls like Nida don’t think about what they’re doing.
When Wasim shows up at Sumera’s school, he asks if they can meet up after school and she says she has work, and he says he can pick her up after work.
As she stands outside the mall waiting for him, she texts Wasim asking where he is. Nicolas comes up and asks if she’s waiting for someone, and if that someone is late since he saw her there half an hour ago. He wonders if it isn’t warmer to wait inside, but she says she should just go home. He offers to give her a ride, since he lives right next to the mall and he has his car there. He says he’s going to go workout anyway so he can drop her off on the way there.  She agrees. When they get to his car, he says he just need to empty out the stuff that’s in the car, and take them up to his apartment. He says it’ll be quick, but then asks if she can help.  As they get into his apartment he says she can put the flower on the table.  She says “is it okay if i put it here?”.
When she turns around, she asks if they can leave now.  She tells him “no, stop, what are you doing?”. He asks if she’s gonna pretend as if she’s not interested now, and that he’s seen the looks she gives him.  She keeps repeating “no, stop, what’s wrong with you?” He says “Shut up, or i’ll have to put something in your mouth, and then you can’t breathe so you don’t want that”, and then “Let me look at you.. you’re so pretty.” He says she needs to stop giving resistance, that there’s no point, and if she doesn’t stop he’ll kill her.  As they’re on the floor and she keeps resisting, he whispers “Didn’t you hear what i said?”.

Hello! I have an obsession with scandinavian projects bc I have experienced hit after hit (skam, lovleg, skitten sno, 19, young royals, threesome etc) and only a few misses (eagles, blank & ragnarok). i noticed that you made a post about "vinterviken", have you seen it? i haven't watched it. Tbh, it looks, at best, bland and uninspired, but i have no more shows to watch (I only made it half way thru ep.1 of zebrarummet - it wasn't for me) so if you think it is good, I'll check it out
I have to agree with you on that. I’ve seen vinterviken, and it’s fine. Nothing new nothing special, but enjoyable.
I’ve only seen one eps of zebrarummet as well. It just seemed too much? Unrealistic? Dunno. I think I’ll check it out again at some point though, when my mindset is right.
But you can check out Rådebank if you haven’t already watched it. It’s Norwegian.

summary of Skitten Snø, episode 2
Watch on NRK with a vpn here (TRIGGER WARNING: It contains violent scenes that can be triggering/uncomfortable) [link to summary of episode 1]
Nicolas says she’s allowed to get up from the floor, pats next to him on the couch and says there’s room there.
As he pushes her into the bedroom, he tells her to put her pants on so that his sheets doesn’t get filthy. He also says “Be quiet, otherwise i’ll get very angry”.
The neighbour asks what he’s doing, that it sounded like a wrestling match.  He says he’s playing PlayStation VR and are bumping into things since he can’t see anything, and that there’s probably a lot of noise from the TV as well.
He turns the volume down and asks if it’s okay like that, but ends up saying he’ll just turn it off completely.
As he walks into the bedroom again, he says “Sumera, didn’t i tell you to be quiet? Sumera?”.
When Charlotte arrives in the car, she tells Sumera to get in the car, and to hurry.  Sumera asks Charlotte what she’s doing there, and Charlotte says she saw her and Nicolas outside the mall. Sumera gets worried and asks if someone else saw her go with Nicolas, but Charlotte says only her saw them.  Charlotte says “Did he get a chance to....?”, and then “I’ve just, heard some rumours about him”.
Charlotte says she can come with Sumera to the police, but Sumera says she doesn’t want to involve the police, that she just wants to gome home. Charlotte tries to convince her, but Sumera repeats that she just wants to go home.  Charlotte asks if she can come home looking like that. She says she’ll help her.
As they’re in the bathroom, Charlotte says she can come with her to see a doctor, but Sumera says she can’t, that nobody can see her like this and nobody can find out.
Atif asks their parents where Sumera is. As he calls Ambar, he asks if she’s with Sumera, and Ambar says she’ll try to call her.
When Ambar calls Sumera’s phone and Nicolas answers, she asks who it is. He says he isn’t the owner of the phone, that his name is Nicolas and that he found the phone. Ambar says “Are you Nicolas, the security guard from the mall?” and he says yes. He says he found the phone in her jacket, which she left behind after work. He says there was a nice picture on the phone when Ambar called, and asks if they’re good friends. She says they have been friends since they were kids, and says Sumera is a very nice girl.  He says he could drop the jacket off at Sumera’s place tonight, and asks if Ambar has the address.
In the car, Charlotte asks if they should go through the story one more time, and Sumera says it’s fine. As they get inside, they tell Sumera’s family that her jacket got stolen at work, because someone left the backdoor to the kitchen open. Sumera’s dad thinks they should call the police right away, but Sumera says she doesn’t want to deal with it now and she just wants to go to bed.
Sumera overhears her parents talking about how it’s weird that the security at the mall is that bad, and that she really liked that jacket. Her dad says it’s good that it’s just materialistic things thought, and the important thing is that nothing happened to her.
Her dad then gets a phone call, where he says that that’s good news, and Sumera will be very happy.  As he enters her room, he says they’ve found all her things, that the security guard from the mall called and said he found it, and that she can pick it up at the security guard’s room/office at the mall tomorrow. Atif says he can pick it up, but she says she’ll do it herself.

Skitten snø Episode 8 transcript
Skitten snø Episode 8
Sumera: Help! Help!
Nicolas: Can you calm down?
Sumera: I need to pee.
Sumera: Can I get some privacy?
Nicolas: Where is the hard drive?
Sumera: My friends have probably given it to the police already.
Nicolas: I don’t think so. Copy this letter.
Sumera: What is this? It’s a suicide letter.
Nicolas: If Charlotte won’t do as I say.
Sumera: What do you mean?
Nicolas: I mean that you should write it.
Sumera: No, why would I`
Nicolas: because I say so.
Sumera: No!
Sumera: Let go! No, let go!
Nicolas: Write!
-
Anila: Can’t you do it faster?
Ambar: I’ve never done this before.
Charlotte: It’s Nicolas.
Charlotte: Hello.
Nicolas: So everyone gets what they want?
Charlotte: What the hell are you doing?
Nicolas: I warned you, Charlotte. I’m getting that hard drive. Do you remember where we went camping? By the benches in the forest?
Charlotte: Yes.
Nicolas: Be there in an hour. Bring the hard drive. Just you. No one else.
Charlotte: You have to bring Sumera.
Nicolas: I’ll need that hard drive first. Then I’ll let her go. One hour, Charlotte. Alone!
-
Atif: The signal moved again.
-
Anila: Fuck, he’s not answering.
Charlotte: Then what? We are meeting him in an hour. We need the hard drive.
Ambar: Hey, I think I found it. It’s here. It’s in the middle of nowhere.
Anila: Is that not the ski jumping hill? Where he works out.
Charlotte: Yeah but the picture is from inside. That’s in the middle of the forest.
Anila: What are we going to do? Should we meet him without the hard drive or try find where this is.
Charlotte: We can´t meet him without it.
Ambar: I think we should check this out.
-
Atif: The signal has stopped moving. Half a kilometre a head.
-
Ambar: Okay, look!
Ambar: Is it Atif?
Anila: No!
Anila: Hi, dad.
Anila’s dad: why are you not at home? I asked you to come home right away.
Anila: I know. But something came up. An emergency.
Anila’s dad: What emergency? We are waiting for you.
Anila: I can’t tell you right now.
Anila’s dad- What? If you don’t come home right now there’ll be consequences.
Anila: I can’t.
Anila’s dad: Just wait until you get home
Anila: Just do whatever you want.
Anila’s dad: I don’t understand…
Anila: Did you figure it out?
Charlotte: It looks like there is a cabin here.
Ambar: We have to leave.
-
Nicolas: I told Charlotte to meet me alone. Who are you? The brother right? Who are you?
Wasim: Fuck you!
Atif: Where is Sumera?
Nicolas: Where is the hard drive?
Atif: You need to let my sister go first.
Wasim: Just you wait until I get you, you fucking murde-
Nicolas: I’m not fucking around. Give me the hard drive first and I’ll let your sister go. And well forget about this, okay. Get down!
Atif: Okay, okay. In the car, the glove compartment. You’ll let her go now, right?
-
Ambar: We came from over there.
Charlotte: Maybe we passed it already? Let me see. No, it is that way.
Ambar: Okay, let’s just go.
-
Anila: Come here, look!
-
Ambar: Let me go. Let me go.
Nicolas: Charlotte, give me the hard drive.
Charlotte: No, where is Sumera? Answer me for fuck sake.
Ambar: Tell us where she is.
Anila: Tell us!
Sumera: Anila, Ambar!
Anila: Stop!
Sumera! Charlotte! Sumera where are you? Sumera?
Nicolas: Sch…
Sumera! Sumera!
Ambar: Sumera, where are you?
Charlotte: Sumera!
Sumera: Help! Help me!
Nicolas: Stop! Show me the hard drive! Put it down! Now! Put down the gun and get out of here.
Anila: Like hell we won’t.
Nicolas: Put down the gun and leave! Three…two…one
-
Sumera: Hey
Wasim: Sumera.
Wasim: Everything will be okay. It will!
-
Anila’s dad: Anila come on. You can’t miss your flight!
Girls: Anila!
Anila: Two minutes?
Anila’s dad: We’ll be late.
Anila: I have to say goodbye!
Anila: Hi!
Ambar: You’ll come back right?
Sumera: Do you want me to talk to him? This is because of me. It’s my fault.
Anila: No, don’t. There’s no point.
Anila’s dad: Anila!
Anila: I have to go.
Ambar: Promise me you’ll look after yourself, okay?
Sumera: I’ll miss you!
Anila: Me too.

Skitten snø episode 7 transcript
Skitten snø Episode 7
Sumera: Okay, there’s just one folder here.
Sumera: We need another password. Fuck!
Sumera: Okay, it seems like we’ve found something important. It’s just one folder and it requires a password.
Charlotte: And we can’t do anything with it.’
Anila: At least she dried.
Charlotte: We got caught!
Anila: But he doesn’t know it was us.
Charlotte: You have to ask your brother if he can help us.
Sumera: I’m not getting him involved.
Charotte: You know what? It’s our only chance. Otherwise we’re in real trouble.
Ambar: Wasn’t Nicolas in any of the pictures?
Anila: No!
Ambar: What is it?
Anila: Om my god!
Ambar: What the fuck?
Sumera: It was Nicolas who raped Nida.
Anila: Talk to Atif. We have to get into that drive.
-
Nicolas: How safe is the encryption you did for me?
Friend: It depends on the password.
Nicolas: It’s just random letters and numbers.
Friend: How many characters?
Nicolas: 8.
Friend: Using Brute force attack on a powerful computer it will take two to three days to crack.
Nicolas. Two to three days?
Friend: With two more characters it would take ten years. Are you there? Hello?
Nicolas: You told me to use 8 characters.
Friend: No, I said at least 8 characters. Did you lose your folder?
Nicolas: Yeah.
Friend: What’s in it? Is it something-

Charlotte’s mum: What’s going on?
Charlotte: Nothing, I’m going to aunt Rita’s
Charlotte’s mum: Right now?
Charlotte: Yes, I’m tired of the city. I just want to get away-
Charlotte’s mum: What is he doing here?
Nicolas: Are you going on vacation?
Charlotte: Weekend trip.
Nicolas: Weekend trip. Where is it?
Charlotte: What?
Nicolas. I’m moved that you remember so much about me. Don’t act dumb. Either you or your new friends have it.
Charlotte: I don’t know what you are talking about.
Nicolas: Okay. Go on your weekend trip. I’m planning to take Isak on vacation soon. I expect you to be okay with that.
Charlotte: I need to go.
Nicolas: And I need that drive. Tonight.
-
Nicolas: I’m really interested in languages.
Sumera’s mum: Do you like Urdu?
Nicolas: Yeah, definitely. It’s a beautiful language. What do you think about Norwegian? A bit boring?
SUmera’s mum: No, I like Norwegian.
Nicolas: Yeah?
Sumera’s mum: It’s a beautiful language. Hi, Sumera. Look who’s here. The man who found your things. You remember him, right?
Nicolas: Hi!
SUmera’s mum: He came to give you your keys. Isn’t that so nice? Sit down, I’ll make tea. Sit down! Come on, have a seat. He’s such a nice young man. He knows Urdu.
Nicolas: No. Just a bit. A few words. I’ve learned them from a friend. “Assalamu alaikum, Aunty. Schurikya shabba khair”
Sumera: Did he find the keys?
Nicolas: No, I thought I did.
Sumera’s mum: They were similar but not ours.
Nicolas: I know what it is like to lose things. But if you look hard enough, you’ll find them sooner or later. Thank you so much for the tea and nice conversation.
Sumera’s mum: You’re welcome. Thank you for your help.
Nicolas: No problem. And Sumera, “good night”. You have a beautiful home.
Sumera: Thank you.
Atif: Who was that?
Sujmera’s mum: The security guard from the mall. He thought he had found the keys.
Sumera: I asked dad to change the locks. The keys are gone. Anyone can find them and break in.
Sumera’s mum: Relax. I’ll talk to your dad. Let me check who is calling.
-
Sumera: Who is it
Atif: It’s me. What is it Sumera?
Atif: Can you please tell me what is going on.
Text: I need the thing you stole from me back. Tonight 11pm.
Atif: Sumera? Sumera, look at me.
Sumera: I need your help with something.
Atif: What?
Sumera: I need to decrypt this.
Atif: Why?
Sumera: It’s not really important but can you help me?
Atif: Yeah of course. But what’s on it.
Sumera: That’s not the point.
Atif: Of course, it is. I need to know what’s on it first.
Sumera: It’s nothing.
Atif: What’s on it?
Sumera: It’s Nida, okay! It’s true that she got raped and there are horrible images and films of her.
Atif: What the hell. Where did you get these pictures? Who did this? Sumera, has anyone done this to you?
Sumera: No.
Atif: Are there images of you too?
Atif: Who was it? Was it Seffi and the others? Fuck!
Sumera: No! Atif stop!
Atif: Let me go! Let me go!
Sumera: Atif, if you leave no and do something stupid, I’ll never trust you again. I mean it.
You said you’d help me. Can I trust you or not?
Atif: You can trust me, Sumera.
-
Anila: What are we going to do. He knows we have the hard drive. It’s obvious that it is really important for him. He’s obviously desperate. And he doesn’t trust the password. We’ll let Atif crack it. And in the meantime, we’ll threaten Nicolas. Like “if you try something, we’ll give the drive to the police.
Ambar: Yeah, that might work.
-
Text: You won’t get shit from me. We’ll keep your hard drive. If you try something, we’ll send it to the police.
-
Locksmith: Hello! Nice with a new lock?
Sumera: Yeah!
Text: Dad finally changed the locks and Atif is still working on the hard drive. Good night. Love you!
Sumera: Good night.
Sumera’s mum: Night sweetheart.
-
Anila’s sister: Here, dad.
Anila’s dad: Thank you.
Anila’s dad: Be home straight after school. We are having people over.
Anila: Okay.
Anila’s dad: We need your help here. Don’t be late.
Anila: I’ll come home straight after. I don’t have work today.
-
Atif: Sumera, you have to get up now. Sumera?
Voicemail: Hi, this is Sumera’s voicemail. Leave a message…
Sumera’s mum: Did she leave?
Atif: Yes.
Sumera’s mum: She said she wasn’t leaving until later today. Why didn’t she say something?
Atif: She probably just forgot.
Sumera’s mum: Yeah, it’s okay.
-
Ambar: What’s wrong?
Charlotte: He kidnapped her.
Ambar: Fuck. “If you call the cops she’ll die.”
Anila: He can’t be doing this?
Charlotte: He has done it. It’s sent from her phone.
Ambar: It’s Atif.
Charlotte: He wants to exchange the hard drive for Sumera. He’s not told us were to meet him. You have it right?
Ambar: We have to do what he says right?
Atif: No! He sent it from her phone, right?
Charlotte: Yes!
Ambar: Where are you going?
Atif:  I’ll fix it.
Anila: How? Atif, where are you going?
Atif: I said I’ll fix it.
-
Sumera’s mum: Is everything okay? Why are you in Sumera’s room?
Atif: Sumera asked me to track her phone. She lost it. I’ll find it. I won’t be home in time tonight. Neither will Sumera. She’s studying for a test.
-
Ambar: If Nicolas is not messing around with the picture, we can…I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to find out where she is.
-
Voicemail: Hey. This is Wasim. I can’t take the phone right now…

Note
Not a question but thank you so much for your hard work on Skitten Snø. I watched the first two then couldn't bring myself to watch the rest until today. Just finished it now. Give Tarjei all the awards. I can still hear his screaming in my mind. Character- wise, that's the noise a monster makes when it dies. But damn if it wasn't hard watching him do that scene.
I'm so sorry, I forgot to answer this ask :( You are welcome. I honestly had a lot of fun translating. Episode 1 and 2 were so hard for me, especially episode 2 as it was so heavy. I agree on Tarjei so much. He is amazing in everything he does and I'm always in awe at how he manages to lose himself into a character. I'm still not sure I'll be able to watch the final scenes of him without feeling sick and uneasy because yes, it feels like the sound of a monster but also a very human sound which screws with my brain. He was an awful character from the start but the moment he died he was so scared and small like a vulnerable child. I need more asap. Do you here me Tarjei? Go make movies for us non Norwegians to watch. Thanks for the ask and sorry you had to wait so long for me to answer it 💛
