OC Post Two - "A Branchline Fairytale"
It turns out, i have a lot of characters, most of which are split across their own little universes. In the case of "A Branchline Fairytale", this universe tries to take on a more storybook or specifically early RWS feel.
The branchline rosters 4 engines, and there are 5 characters in this group. The first is: Highlander - A Highlands Jones Tank, Highlander is the branchline's main freight engine. He's strong, dedicated, and still as jolly as the day he was built.
Tumblr media
Sir Rowan Parker - A GCR E8, Rowan fancies himself a Proper Gentleman. Being the branch's main passenger engine, he's very used to being the center of attention, and thrives in the spotlight. When off the job however, he can be stubborn as an ox and temperamental as a mare, although these have both improved over the many years he's served the line.
Tumblr media
Samuel - An 0-6-0 Andrew Barclay Diesel, Samuel shunted for a factory before coming to the branch. As such, his language is often quite blunt. He's not mean, very fond of his new home on the branch in fact, but he doesn't hesitate to tell people what he thinks of them, much to the amusement of some and the offense of others.
Tumblr media
Franklin - Brought in to supplement and/ or fill in for Rowan if need be, Franklin is a blue two-unit diesel railcar. He often runs services to the main line, and because of this he sees the work on the branch as beneath him. Despite this, he's quite clever and attentive, often sharing his observations with his fellow diesel, Samuel.
Tumblr media
Finally, we have: The Unnamed Deltic - One of the engines to frequently interchange with the branchline, this class 55 is like an outsider looking in. Although he usually jokes at the expense of the smaller engines, he's not against offering some advice from a different perspective when they're struggling.

I hope you enjoy these goobers!

{continuation} : (part 1) (part 2) (part 3) (part 4) (part 5)
You slapped your palm on the Snooze button of your alarm clock. You nearly fell pulling up your jeans and shimmying your way through them. You put on a cream colored blouse as you slung your backpack over your shoulder, leaving your bedroom.
You ate your instant oatmeal as fast as you could and put the bowl in the sink. Maybe I will wash it afterwards, you thought to yourself but we all knew that you would be too tired to do it.
You ran to the cafeteria as fast as you could and sat down at a nearby table. You looked at your watch and smiled contently. Ten more minutes to 7.45 am, you smirked to yourself.
As your eyes scanned the cafeteria for a familiar face, you heard someone calling your name. You whipped your head to see your friends Michelle and Ned waving and making their way towards you.
“So, I assume that Parker lost the bet with you,” Michelle raised her eyebrow.
“Pretty obviously, Michelle. I’m earlier than him,” you shrugged.
“Speak of the devil, and he’s here,” Ned pointed at Peter who was hurriedly coming down the stairs.
“Hey guys. I’m sorry that I’m late. Uh-Iwokeup-youknowverylatetoday,” he was practically vomiting out semi coherent words to the three of you.
“Parker, calm the hell down and pay me my fifteen bucks. The bet, remember?” you said as you wiggled your fingers in front of him.
He sighed as he reached into his back pocket and took out his wallet. You saw that he had 20 dollars and grabbed it, as he looked at you in shock.
“See you guys, after class. By the way, lunch is on me!” you announced as you smirked at Peter.
“So, when are you gonna tell her?,” Ned asked his best friend as he saw you and Michelle head to class.
“I don’t know, Ned. I don’t want to ruin the friendship between us. Importantly, I don’t want her to hate me,” he told Ned.
“Make sure you tell he before she becomes ‘The One That Got Away’“ he warned him, using the air quotation hand gesture.
You sketched some random drawings on your notebook as you waited for your professor to come. A girl who had short black hair who was sitting beside you was eyeing your book from her peripheral vision.
“Wow, those drawings are so good. I wish I had skills like you,” she sighed. You laughed at her and reached out your hand to her. She took your hand and shook it firmly.
“L/N. Y/N L/N,” you looked at her, waiting for a response.
“Ooh, the James Bond way, ok then. Blanchard. Rowan Blanchard.” she said before both of you broke out in a fit of giggles.
“It hasn’t been 5 minutes since I met you but you have made me laugh,” she said as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Are you new here? Cause I have never seen you here before.” you asked her and she gave you an affirmative nod.
“I got a scholarship and transferred here with ‘someone very nice and studious’,” she said rolling her eyes.
You were about to ask her who was that particular ‘someone’ but before you could, your professor, Mr Harrington entered the lecture hall.
“Good morning everybody, I am your lecturer for this class and I would like to get to know every single one of my students. This helps me to gauge my students’ performance and their mentality. Since I know all of my old students, now I want to know about the new students. Can all the new students stand up please?” Mr Harrington asked the students.
Rowan stood up and you nudged her at her side with your elbow making her smile at you.
“I want the new students to tell their name and also an interesting fact about them,” your professor said.
You heard all the new students tell their names and facts about themselves. You tried to memorize their names so that it will be easier to make more friends.
When it came to Rowan’s turn, she said “ Hello, I am Rowan Blanchard and I hate cats,” earning a dismissive sound from all the cat lovers in the lecture hall.
When she sat down, you told her “Man, I hate cats too. We are so similar,”
“And… that’s why we are meant to be friends,” she said. locking your arm with hers.
After what seemed to be like an eternity, your professor saw that there are no more students who haven’t introduced themselves and turned on the projector to start with his lesson.
“I am sorry sir but I am new here and I haven’t introduced myself yet,” you heard a voice from the back of the hall. It was a very familiar voice to you but you couldn’t remember whose was it.
You turned back to see a young teenage boy sitting down, body slumped with his right hand raised.
“Resident bad boy strikes again, guys,” you heard Rowan whisper into your ear.
The boy stood up and said “I am Tom Holland and I can make any girl swoon over me,” flashing his pearly whites.
The girl at his right nearly fainted and you can see Rowan rolling her eyes at her. As for you, you were frozen by shock to even do anything.
He looked exactly like Peter except that his hair is combed in a different way and his outfit is different. Otherwise, anyone can mistake them for twins.
You looked at him again and again as you couldn’t believe yourself. You rubbed your eyes to make sure you weren’t hallucinating.
“Thank you very much, Mr Holland. You may sit down so that I can start my class,” you heard your professor say with a stern tone.
Tom did a curtsy and sat back down on his chair. When he noticed you gaping at him, he winked and smirked at you that made your heart fill with dread.
This was the start of your second year at college and its turning out to be a living nightmare.
drop me an ask to be added to my taglist!
