I’ve been slowly getting my feet/hands back to being a nosy plant addict who lives by relentlessly repotting my plants (poor babies 😅). So far, I’ve got DIY pon together but am still learning and experimenting around with the ingredients and their ratio for the local growing condition I have in Taiwan. It’s fascinating how the soil/amendments here differ so much from what I was used to in the States—Yang Ming mountain soil 陽明山土, akadama 赤紅土, carbonized rice husk 碳化稻穀 just to name a few! After a week of exploring all the various soil admandments, meet another caudex I’ve been so in love with besides Phyllanthus mirabilis 奇異油柑—Sinningia leucotricha 斷崖女王 just got repotted into a vanilla soufflé pot with the slightly modified pon I mixed together (same ingredients as lechuza pon, plus an equal part of bark).
