Hello, I know that we are not related, but we have a spiritual connection of human companionship, we love each other, I am Samah Sami from the Gaza Strip and I have two children, Ayla and Zein. I used to work as a teacher but I was unable to continue my work because of the genocide. Pran, quick question: WHERE ARE YOU? I see the view in the background, and that's one of Singapore's most iconic buildings, if I'm not wrong, which is definitely not in Thailand. So, boy, what's your ass doing in Singapore?

At least he's still wearing The Watch, so I have hope. Pran's a yearner through and through, so I expected nothing less from him.

I love that the parents aren't still getting along, because in such cases where the rivalry dates back decades, it feels abnormal to not continue doing so. It's almost like sunk cost fallacy but make it about rivalry.

However, I do love the little detail of Ming having to back off during their car face-off because Ming was the one who stabbed Dissaya in the back, figuratively speaking, all those years ago.

Pran went from ordering three wontons to four—that's how you know he's in a long-term relationship, accommodating your partner without any prodding from their side.

Pran's "I brought your dad a bottle of liquor" is a solid strategy. There is nothing Asian dads love more than receiving imported liquor, even if they don't drink. A sure way to win some brownie points.

Kissing in front of the trashcans!!!! Oh, how far they've come.

Ming once again being the most Asian dad to ever exist by just randomly flipping through the newspaper just to appear busy.

As much as I love to hate on his quintessential Asian dad quirks, he is the most relatable of bl dads for me. Is he perfect? No, but I don't think anyone can say that he doesn't love his son.

Ink is accepted by Pa's parents, which doesn't surprise me one bit because she's perfect. PERIOD.

The dinner scene at Pat's house is a callback to the dinner scene in the initial episodes, when the dad was telling Pat to not let the neighboring boy win at any cost. Oh, how the tables have turned! Now, Pat is trying to curry favor with his dad for the said neighboring boy.

MING TOOK A SIP. Told ya, Asian dads just can't resist imported liquor.

The question of Pran's guitar. Did Pat keep it with him this time around too??!!

Ming crossed the LINE to deliver the mail, and Dissaya saw it.

Awww, his mom put it on his bed, which goes in line with my theory about parallels between Dissaya accepting Pran playing the guitar and him loving Pat. So, I'll be taking this as silent acceptance from her regarding their relationship.

I think both of them are ready to bury the hatchet, TO AN EXTENT, for the sake of their kids happiness.

Going off on a tangent for a bit, but bear with me. Let me take a moment to thank @respectthepetty for training me into thinking of love whenever I see the color pink because, what was the paint color the fathers used to draw the boundary between their houses all those years ago? Yes, it was fucking pink. It means that the answer was love all along. They were MEANT to fall in love to bridge the rift between their families. Talk about 'born to be together,' which was the exact sentiment Pran wanted to convey through The Song in high school.

Now, Pat coming into Pran's room through the window is a clear callback to the time Pat did the same to return the watch after Pran saved Pa. However, then he did it to tell Pran to not act friendly towards him in front of others, and now it's to spend some time with him without hiding from anyone, even their parents.

Man, the flashbacks to when they were kids overlapping with them right now are just the cutest.

Everyone gather around because I just had a very big-brained thought. Remember, in Ep 8, on the rooftop, Pat wanted to share their relationship with the entire world while Pran asked what's wrong with just wanting to keep it for themselves. What if, whatever happened with their relationship after that, was just exploring both their paths? They clearly tried Pat's way first because Pran cared about him, despite his worry, and it resulted in the Ep 11 ending. After that, they took Pran's way and we all saw how it panned out for them. It might've taken them four years, but their parents are kinda onboard with their relationship.

Now that we're on this subject, let me try to provide some context to Wai pulling down the curtain on their relationship. Not defending his actions, but me thinks it was very intentional that Wai heard Pran say that although he's worried about others finding out about their (Pat & Pran's) relationship, he's willing to take the risk because he cares about Pat more. Wai's vindictive ass heard that and went through his montage of Pran lying to me about his relationship with Pat moments in his head and decided to put Pran's words about caring about Pat more to the test.

We get a post-credit scene? Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Of course it had to be on a rooftop! Wait a second. Pat's birthday is on 23rd April, and the first time Pat slept over in Pran's room is on 24th April. The psychological implications of it all (for me) can't be overstated!!

Pran, my menace-in-residence, was really showing his horny ass by saying, 'The winner can do anything to the loser.' Never change, bestie!!

Well, I got the house tour I asked for earlier. Fucking Architectural Digest could never.

Honestly, I don't think I've even processed the finale yet. It was very pleasing to my lizard brain, that's for sure. I need to sit with it for a few days, and I'll probably write something about my whole experience liveblogging this BB watch and my thoughts on some of the CHOICES made in the whole series. A sneak peek of few things that are marinating in my head are—

Pat associating Pran with home because he feels lost (I was only half-joking when I compared him to a lost puppy following Pran around).

The air of sadness around Pat that just goes unacknowledged for the most part.

Pran associating Pat with freedom because he feels burdened.

Pran feeling undeserving of Pat's love.

Like I said, I'll be thinking about them a WHOLE LOT.

Quick question: Were there any talks of a season 2? Because there are some easter eggs peppered throughout the series that deserve further exploration, and they definitely have issues they need to address and work through as a couple. This ending will only count as an HFN (happy for now) in my book. I'm putting this ending on par with the To My Star ending, and I adored To My Star 2, so there's that. Still waiting for To My Star 3, though that's a discussion for another day.

One thing I can say for sure is that I'm extremely grateful for the fandom that has welcomed me with open arms and engaged with all my ramblings each episode, because let's be honest, it was just a stream of consciousness.

I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun watching the series without you guys. I'll be camping out on the rooftop for so long that I'll be claiming squatters rights for sure!!!

Singapore is wonderful <3 ive been sweating buckets on a daily but other than that it’s been amazing I love the public transport and I love the food and there’s always fun things going on so I love it!! I also went to a kpop concert for the first time ever (I saw stray kids live and still haven’t recovered, hopefully I get back to posting so I can yap a lot more about it hahah)

The workload is a bit insane 😭 and since I’m living alone it’s not just coursework I need to worry about, there’s also like cooking and cleaning and laundry etc and I’m realising I might not be cut out for adulthood 😩. I try my best to romanticize it though… and some days are better than others. The stress comes and goes but I’ve got a good friend group so I don’t feel too homesick!! Overall it’s been great <3

At this point, I mostly put these together for my memories but anyway, here's my seeing Esteban at the Singapore GP post. I'm kinda glad I procrastinated on it for so long because then I saw they brought my banner with them to the other races, which I wasn't expecting!

Thursday

I started a new office job in June, which meant I couldn't just take off to head to the track earlier. Luckily my friends were kind enough to bring this banner I designed to celebrate Este's podiums (so far) to give him on my behalf. 🥺💕 And he kindly obliged when they asked him to hold it so they could take a photo for me.

Friday

I only got to be at the track in the evening for FP2 and they were very strict about kicking us out at 12am this year so I didn't get to meet Esteban yet. BUT! It was still a great day because his team sent me this picture of my banner hanging in his driver's room and also told me they loved it and had sent it to Esteban's father (and I guess he liked it too haha).

Saturday

It was raining sporadically and the air was so muggy but it was worth it because I finally got to see Esteban! He was in a rush because he was supposed to be at the fan zone in like 10 minutes but he still stopped to sign my banner (I printed 2, one for him, one for me). Tom his performance coach also signed it for me.

When Este spotted me, I damn near melted because he said "good to see you again!" and also offered me a fist bump because he remembered I usually put my fist out for one. 🥹

The other highlight was being on the beginning of Ted's Notebook (I'm the one in white)! But then we got kicked out at 12am again SIGH.

Sunday

It was Esteban's birthday! So great to see so much support for him on this day even though the race didn't end the way we wanted. :') I also missed my chance to say goodbye because I was over at the Padang Stage watching Robbie Williams. 😭 (worth it tho, I'll probably still see Esteban next year, idk when Robbie will come back)

Post-SGP

I was so surprised and thrilled to spot my banner in his room again at the US GP! I didn't expect them to hold on to it after Singapore/Japan to be honest so it was so cool to know that my banner went around the world and was in the same room as these other sporting legends.

im going to be honest with you i was in canberra for like four days tops 😭we only had enough time to do the whole questacon-war memorial-museum-visit That One Australian Relative (that every singaporean inexplicably has) and then we went to sydney... i don't know the first thing about living in canberra but i remember it being really cold and big? i LOVED the lake it was so pretty but im always a sucker for lakes. it seems like a fun place to live lol. in terms of similarities to singapore i can't really tell you bc what i like most abt singapore is the convenience of it (fifteen minutes bus to school, five minutes walk to the wet market, thirty minutes train to anywhere) and idk what it's like for canberra

Ok I forgive him for not putting anything on social media about Dele's interview 😭

Eric Dier could not hold back the tears as he spoke for the first time about his former Tottenham team-mate Dele Alli's brave interview.

Dier and Dele became something of a double act at Spurs, the former becoming an older brother of sorts to the midfielder and their heart-warming relationship remains strong today.

During Spurs' time in Singapore this week, after painting with some underprivileged youngsters at the Children's Wishing Well charity, Dier sat down and discussed his friend's brave interview.

"Obviously, it was difficult to watch," he said. "Lots of stuff, not everything, but quite a lot of it I knew already. I was with him just a week before, he was at my wedding.

“I don’t know what to say about it. I don’t want to say anything that I haven’t said to him. I wouldn’t do that. For me it was, as I said, it was difficult to watch, upsetting.

"I think my overwhelming feeling, which I said to him as well, is probably I’m upset that I didn’t do more."

One thing that Dier was not aware of about Dele was the abuse and trauma he suffered as a child.

"No, I wasn’t aware of it. There were things that I was and wasn’t aware of," he said. "A long time ago I went to Milton Keynes with him and he showed me around where he grew up. He showed me everything so I was aware of the outline of the picture, the frame, but not the picture itself."

It is when Dele's mention of Dier in his interview is spoken about that the tears began to well up and then fall down the Spurs defender's face.

Dele had said: "I don’t think any of them really knew what I was doing so I’d hide it from them, I wouldn’t be honest with them. The likes of Eric Dier, I think he’s a great friend and you realise who your real friends are – people that don’t just say yes.

“People like Eric, Harry [Kane], Sonny [Heung-min Son] Ben [Davies]. There were a lot of players that didn’t approve of what I was doing if they knew about it and they weren’t afraid to tell me.

“Especially Harry and Eric, those two are brutally honest. When they confronted me it was never in front of other players. Sometimes they could see it in my face, it was hard to hide and they definitely weren’t pleased."

Dier apologises as he sobs, perhaps thinking back to those chats with his younger Spurs team-mate when he tried to help him without knowing the full extent of what was going on.

After a long pause with attempts to compose himself, he said: "I don’t really like talking about it publicly because I don’t really feel like it’s my place, you know? I’m happy to say anything that I’ve spoken about with him to a certain extent."

The tears flow again as he tries to continue.

"He’s been a great friend to me as well, you know? He just has been," he said before another long pause is needed. "He’s just… sorry, I just need… I can’t speak."

After another moment to compose himself he explains: "When he was in rehab, and I knew he was in rehab, I spoke to him a few times while he was there and I messaged him, because I was having my wedding..."

More tears fall at the memory before he continues: "I said to him, ‘I don’t know if you’re going to make it’ [to the wedding], because obviously I knew what he was going through. And the first thing was that he was insulted that I’d asked him if he was going to be there.

"It was like it was unimaginable that he wasn’t going to be there even though everything he was going through. That’s the type of person he is, you know? Dele has a heart of gold. He really does. I’m upset with myself and disappointed with myself that I didn’t do more.

"He’s a great friend to me as well, it’s not all one way. He’s done many things over the course of time that mean a lot to me. He’s someone that I know that I could call him right now if I needed him to be here in Singapore and he’d come. That’s the kind of friend he is."

Football fans are all hoping Dele can now recapture the form that made him one of the most exciting young players in Europe during his early years at Tottenham and Dier is among those watching on and hoping.

"Me too. I think he’s probably in the best place he’s ever been," he said. "Obviously that’s what everyone wants. He’s still so young. He can still do whatever he wants to do, that’s the beauty of football. It’s up to him. It really is in his hands.

“It’s always in our hands as players to control whatever we can control. Obviously the manager will make decisions and clubs will make decisions but as players all we can do is control what we can control. That’s giving ourselves the best chance to be able to play and play well."

Seeing Dele scoring goals for fun with a smile on his face is all anyone, most of all Dier, wants to see in the season and years ahead.

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 14 - South Korea

It's Winter break and I am FINALLY picking back up my 2023 watch through (given how it's December, I probably won't finish this before 2024, but that's okay!).

This is another one I watched live at the time at my friend's house, and my main memory apart from Seb winning is Mark Webber's car having an alternator failure and then going on fire (right after his Singapore last lap DNF which, ouch) and Nico Rosberg having a very sparky front wing. iirc Jenson had an alright race and scored points, though I cannot recall how Lewis did, so let's jump in!

Once again saying how much of a core memory the old F1 intro is

and also asking why can't F1 provide alternate commentary options, why must Crofty and Brundle be forced upon us 😭

On a more practical note, I never knew why this race was officially called the Korean GP instead of the South Korean GP

But Yeongam was a fun track even if the layout looked a bit odd.

Alrighty: Starting grid whiplash time! SEWIS FRONT ROW!!!! (this is for meeeeee) Grosjean P3 and Rosberg P4 Jenson P11 and Jev down in P16

[Formation Lap]: Almost everyone on the super soft tyres apart from Ricciardo who's on the mediums

and immediately cut to the mad rush of mechanics and engineers running back to the garages

huh, so today I learned that no one is allowed to sit on the pitwall at the race start in case there's an on-track incident. I really feel like I should have known this before now 😅

[Start/Lap 1]: Seb has in Seb fashion just shot off into the distance

CARNAGE

One of the Ferrari's got tagged, someone else span round, turn 3 was like a dodgems rink

right before all that happened Grosjean overtook Lewis and is in P2

[Lap 2]: But Seb is already 2 seconds ahead of P2. Just GOAT things.

[Lap 3]: Now 2.6 seconds 👑 (When Seb dominates in a Red Bull it's sexy, when anyone else does the same it's not - hope that helps x)

The Top 5 after the lap 1 nonsense is Seb, Grosjean, Lewis, Nico R and Hulkenberg.

[Lap 4]: Jenson has minor front wing damage 😭

ooh cut to Raikkonen and Ricciardo scrapping over 7th

and now Jenson has to come in for a new front wing 😭😭😭

it's apparently affecting his brake temps, fml

Okay start replay: oh my days the field was five wide before the braking zone for turn 3 no wonder that there was dodgems.

[Lap 6]: I'm starting to wonder if I mis-remembered Nico's front wing failing and sparking along the track. I'm sure it was at this Korean GP bc I remember my friend being so upset over it

[Lap 7]: JENSON FASTEST LAP!!!!!!!

Though this was years before getting the fastest lap was worth a point, but it's worth a point in my heart

[Lap 8]: Cars starting to make their first pit stops

[Lap 9]: Back to Seb fastest lap, he's over three seconds ahead of P2

Meanwhile Lewis just got told to push before his first stop

[Lap 10]: And in he comes for stop number 1! Super softs off for Mediums, he comes out in P9

So according to Ted the two stop is actually quicker, but the cars that have stopped already are likely going to have to do the three stop. inch resting.

[Lap 11]: And saying that, Grosjean comes in to cover Lewis, and comes out juuuust ahead

[Lap 12]: And in comes Seb! Also putting on the mediums

but we need to cut back to the Lewis & Grosjean battle bc it was getting spicy

And a Lewis fastest lap for funsies 🥰

[Lap 13]: He's now 8 tenths behind Grosjean

[Lap 16]: Hmm, there is not much happening

I am enjoying watching the cars go round though, but then again that's just me 😅

Saying that, Hulkenberg is leading a train of Alonso, Raikkonen and Webber from 6th-9th.

oh it's a DRS train before we called it a DRS train

[Lap 18]: And Rosberg gets past Ricciardo for 4th

[Lap 20]: Jenson, who's in P9, is apparently not having a fun time with his tyres

Meanwhile Fernando is trying very hard to break through past Hulkenberg

sadly it's not happening

[Lap 22]: And *another* Seb fastest lap

I do love it when he collects them like pokemon

tbf it would be very on brand for me to deliberately forget if Jenson had a bad race

[Lap 24]: Breaking News: Fernando has still not gotten past Hulkenberg

I am starting to remember this part of the race and I'm pretty sure Hulkenberg does end up finishing in 5th

"Right front is destroyed" "I've been through the graining phase, and it's dead" the precursors to 'Bono my tyres are gone'. Lewis also sounds painfully done on the radio 😭😭😭

[Lap 26]: and there's a somewhat stranded Force India in the barriers.

oof Di Resta had a slow spin into the barriers after getting on the kerbs

[Lap 28]: Meanwhile Lewis is painfully slow compared to everyone else

Ah ha! There's Rosberg's front wing failure (not that I was wishing ill on him, more well done me for remembering correctly)

He was about to pass Lewis on the straight when the nose of the car just dropped down.

And it is now trailing on the ground putting sparks everywhere

[Lap 29]: So either by choice or circumstance Lewis wasn't able to get past Nico while he was driving slowly with his borked front wing.

"When are you gonna call me in man these tyres are fucked?" Lewis' very not fun Korean GP

[Lap 30]: and he FINALLY pits for another set of mediums

the race is 55 laps long so he should in theory make it to the end

[Lap 31]: FUCK Perez's tyre just failed

I do NOT want anymore Silverstone flashbacks, that was not fun

The whole tread of the tyre just ripped itself off the canvas while he was going down the straight, NOT GOOD

[Lap 32]: Very understandably we have a safety car

"And Pirelli are here to inspect the remnants of their tyre, not that there is much" Ted Kravitz committing murders live on air since 2013.

Well I have to say that certainly spiked up my blood pressure, it's the fact that Perez just happened to be in the camera shot when it happened.

[Lap 33]: So while we have the SC, the current top 5 is: Seb, Grosjean, Raikkonen, Lewis and Hulkenberg

[Lap 34]: Cut to a probably quite stressed Pirelli engineer in the Merc Garage looking over someone's shoulder

[Lap 35]: Shoutout to Webber, who had to pit again for running over the debris from Perez's car so dropped down to P11, and was given a set of super softs because Red Bull did not have any mediums left

i actually have some very fond memories about this weekend!!! to start with, it was during autumn break 🍁🍂 and i was spending it at my grandparent's cabin (they have a new one, where i had never been before) 💕💕🥰🥰🥰🥰‼️‼️ so that was fun in its own right!!!

qualifying... yea i watched that at home still and i had soooo hoped that lap would stay put but NOOO we just had to deal with track limits 😒😒😒💔💔💔💔 but its fine 😭😭😭 we got chole!!!! i fucking love chole!!!!!!!! also charles' helmet was actually kinda great i enjoyed it 👍😁✨

sprint quali was funny. max pole so obviously i was very very happy and enjoying myself but also max SPIIIIINNN 😵😵💥💥💥‼️‼️‼️‼️ also my grandpa wanted to watch with me and i was allowed to watch sprint quali at the dinner table 😁😁😁 with the sound off... but still 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 i spend the entire evening very drunkily defending max from my max-hating mom and grandma... grandpa came to the conclusion max is kinda autistic (wbk) 😁😭😭😭😭😭🌷🌷🌷🌷🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍷🍷🍷🍷

Indie Game Spotlight: Stratospiel

We're exploring the colorful and mysterious world of Stratospiel in this week's Indie Game Spotlight! Stratospiel is an upcoming turn-based RPG that follows the journey of a child who awakens on a strange planet with no memories and is faced with a vast array of enemies and the choice to either destroy or befriend them. The choices you make will impact the tone and outcome of this story. We caught up with Stratospiel's designer, writer, programmer, and composer, Vaughn Haynes, to learn more.

Stratospiel is reminiscent of other turn-based RPGs like Earthbound and Undertale—was Stratospiel inspired by either? Were there any other games that inspired you during the development process?

It's funny—I've been told by my friends that the game has a lot of Earthbound vibes, but I've never actually played any of the Mother games. I'll definitely have to as soon as I'm finished making this game :) I can say with confidence that this was very much inspired by Undertale, though. I played that for the first time on my Switch back in February 2020 and was absolutely blown away. I've wanted to make a video game forever but always backed down when I saw how much of an undertaking it is. Once I found out that Undertale was primarily made by one guy, I was like, "yeah, I can do this," and finally got to work learning how to code and all that fun stuff. Undertale has a huge influence on Stratospiel, with its defining mechanic—acting/sparing the monsters—being implemented here. In a broader sense, though, I'd say the Mario & Luigi RPG series has had the biggest influence. I played Bowser's Inside Story as a kid, and I loved how fast-paced the battles were without losing that feeling of RPG strategy. I also liked how the items you used in battle were also used to manipulate the overworld. Stratospiel's battle system is a happy marriage between those two games' battle systems. Other games that influenced Stratospiel are the WarioWare and Ace Attorney games—absurd humor is my favorite, and that has definitely worked its way into Stratospiel.
