November 3, 2024 - Gray Whistler (Pachycephala simplex) Found in parts of New Guinea and northern Australia, these whistlers live in forests, frequently around water. Foraging in foliage, on branches, and in vines, they eat insects, spiders, and sometimes seeds, often joining mixed-species flocks. They build cup-shaped nests from grass, leaves, rootlets, twigs, plant fibers, tendrils, feathers, and sometimes spiderwebs. Females lay clutches of two eggs.

1912 Simplex 50 HP Toy-Tonneau

In 1911, William P. Snyder Jr. ordered his 50 HP from J.M. Quinby & Co., the New Jersey–based coachbuilder and body maker for Simplex automobiles. Replying to his inquiry on June 26, the coachbuilder wrote, “We propose to furnish you with the latest model 129 inch wheel base, 50 H.P. Simplex Chassis, equipped with a Bosch dual system and four volt battery, Solar Eclipse headlights, oil side and tail lamps, Presto Lite tank and Chassis work, less the rear fenders for the sum of Forty-nine Hundred and Sixty ($4,960.00) Dollars and to be delivered three weeks or as much sooner as possible.”

Snyder specified a shorter 124-inch, 50 HP chassis with a Runabout, two-seat body and folding canvas top, painted in Munich Lake with a medium red chassis, and maroon leather. He also added his monogram to the coachwork. Soon after Chassis No. 799 was delivered, it was crashed by its young owner, and, at his father’s insistence, returned to Quinby to be fitted with more conservative bodywork that might encourage more disciplined driving.

The car on offer still wears body No. 3038, the Toy-Tonneau coachwork fitted in 1912. The Simplex was passed down to Snyder’s son in 1940, and eventually passed down to the latest generation in 2011.

SIMPLEXITY [yes i made this word up]: Simplexity for me is when art 🖼️ is executed in an individualistically complex manner but its final product is simple enough for any person to understand.

Sometimes I want my music to just hit you with a feeling no words. Other times I’m just talking my shiid cuz I know we all want to in our own ways.

But recently I’ve been trying to take a step back and reflect on what I have completed and released so far so I can decide ok where do I go from here. What do I want to achieve with each new track I make?

I am constantly asking myself questions…

Are these levels too high? Should I cut this part or that part? Can a beat have melodies and counter melodies and still go hard af? Is this too much compression? Are the dynamics building up to something? Etc.

At the end of it all though I find myself saying. Have I achieved Simplexity? Is this simple enough to digest while still expressing the little orchestrative lines I wish to include.

Its a process. It takes as long as it takes. I'm enjoying the grind tho. 💯

I don't know what to call the equivalent of length, area and volume in higher dimensions, so I'm calling it an n-measure with a 2-measure being area, 3-measure being volume and etc.

I derived this by myself after getting the inspiration from a 3b1b video, though this is already common knowledge amongst mathematician specializing in multidimensional geometry

November 5, 2023 - Gray Wren-warbler (Calamonastes simplex) These wren-warblers inhabit dry woodland and acacia scrub in savannas in parts of eastern Africa. They feed mostly on insects, foraging low in bushes and trees and on the ground. Breeding from November to May, one member of a pair builds a large oval nest with a side entrance at the top covered with living leaves and lined with fine plant material in a leafy shrub. Females lay clutches of three to four eggs.
