Points I took from Simon Barry's latest interview

the Tarask attack in season one was supposed to happen on a train???

Mother Superion was supposed to die in season two and Mary would replace her role as superior (and take vows as result)

Ava would come back evil in season 3 (not in a deliberate way) and act as Reya's weapon.

Beatrice has gone missing and the OCS needs to go out and search for her because she's the only one who can snap Ava out of her mindset.

With the recent news that Simon Barry is not currently involved in the new Warrior Nun trilogy, it is time we let whoever saved the show know that we want Simon back. So please use #SaveSimonBarry!

The thing I don’t get, and others have pointed it out as well, is how is Simon NOT involved yet? HE is the one that pushed the fans to keep fighting, HE tweeted out the sunrise gif, and HE is the one that put out the link to the countdown website on twitter. How is it that the man who has been the most involved in getting the show saved, somehow isn’t involved?? I know we don’t know what the announcement tomorrow is yet but still. Make it make sense.

Coming from the warrior nun Fandom. I feel like Arcane is extremely well done. Warrior Nun was given an extremely low budget and the director Simon had to make do with the money he was given and the content he wanted to be able to put into the show. There were many scenes that he wanted to put in. Unfortunately he one hand tied behind his back because of the guidelines Netflix gave him. So he was forced to chose what is the absolute necessary scenes to express the story. Due to that there were plot holes. But the story was good and well done.

I soooo see this in Arcane. They may have an extremely high budget but they were given so little time to express the story the creators wanted to show. They gave their blood sweat and tears to the little things in this show. There are so much little details that change the whole meaning of the scene. There is so much context in the show you just have to look for it. The creators have given us a masterpiece of a show with so much detail in such a limited time they were alloted to create for.

Look for the hidden meanings. Look at the microexpressions in the characters.

It is a beautiful show just give it the grace and time for them to show us the last few episodes. Maybe they will give us more dialog for the scenes they had to cut out like Simon did for Bea and Ava.

Can I just say... how fucking blessed the Warrior Nun fandon is? Like-- we fucking won. These bitches won! We met the 15 million tweets which is insane, more so that we did it within only a few days. Honestly I can not be the only person who cried when they found out it was coming back, right? Cause like... I texted my step dad saying that it was uncanceled and he didn't even know it was a thing. I've seen it happen only 1 other time.

I can't even express the amount of happiness I felt. So thank you Simon Barry, and the whole Fandom. Actually fuck that. We aren't a fandom. We did this, and bought a billboard across Netflix headquarters to bring it back. We're a mother fucking family.

I’m fairly new to the Warrior Nun family, but this announcement has really boiled my piss.

Last year I heard about season 2’s release and the Avatrice kiss and I was pretty intrigued to watch. But before I could, it was cancelled. After years of suffering through Supergirl and being queerbated left right and centre with Kara and Lena, I figured I didn’t wanna go through the pain of watching a story only for the ending to be cut short and never continued. So I never watched WN…up until I heard that it was saved.

Because I knew there was a possibility that this story would be continued, I decided to watch WN. And of course, I fell in deep - binge watching the series within two days. Safe to say, Avatrice and the other characters have all taken a special place in my heart. I, like many other members of the fandom, was looking forward to seeing what was in store.

So when the triology announcement came out, with no participation from Simon, Amy, Alba or KTY, I wasn’t phased. Before I’d sort of hoped maybe the likes of BBC or another UK studio such as Film 4 had taken the reigns (and not hollywood/amazon or other streaming platforms). The writer/actor strike seemed to be the cause, so I wasn’t worried. Plus, the thought of THREE movies featuring our girls? I was stoked.

Then we got the email a few days ago. At first, I was excited- the writers strike had just ended, so maybe Simon and co. were going to speak? I was at least hoping there’d be more detail on the plot etc. and then Simon posted that tweet. And it all snowballed with the other writers and my heart just sank.

Tried to stay positive, but it’s pretty hard to do when the show’s writers are all saying they know nothing about it. So I went to bed last night (I’m in the UK) praying we’d wake up to good news.

How fucking wrong was I.

This contest is just a huge slap in the face of not only us fans, but artists, writers and actors on the original show. The T&Cs basically state that whoever wins will get their art abused and exploited for the next FIVE YEARS in return for what? A sketch? Pfffft please. Have you learnt nothing from the writers/actors strike at all?!

The worrying thing is what this contest signifies…the producers of this movie clearly don’t have the rights to the Netflix show that we all love. Hence no Simon, hence no announcement on the actors and hence the shitty attempt to get fans to do the hard work for them and design a new Halo.

It really is a joke. If the new producers are reading this, please do better. Engage with the fandom….and for the love of god, get SIMON BARRY on your team.

I don’t know what else to say other than this is exhausting for us fans - and this is coming from someone who didn’t get a chance to get involved in the fight to save WN at the beginning of the year!

Let’s just hope I’m proved wrong and that the movies will be what we hoped.

(P.S. also, please fire Perfectly Productive Media from all your future web copy/media relations - as a copywriter I can say that the countdown pages they’ve produced are 💩)

Simon Barry's reveal of season 3

Is so interesting to me because it sounds like the focal point of the season would be Beatrice trying to save Ava from self destruction. 

Ava comes back evil, a weapon controlled by Reya for whatever she has planned and everyone knows (even the OCS) that the only thing that could snap Ava out of this is Beatrice. The one person she sacrificed herself for in the first place. But Beatrice is missing for a reason unknown and they have to find her and bring her back. They have to tell her Ava is alive but she's not what she used to be. Something is wrong.

He also said that; “Beatrice has to save her in this emotional/psychic/loving way…” and notice how he says psychic. Somehow, Beatrice was supposed to learn how to connect to Ava on a mental/soul level. Whether that would be straight up telepathic mind reading or something more abstract – it's Beatrice tying herself to Ava and not letting go. For so long she's not allowed herself get attached to anyone and now she's ready to do everything in her power to get Ava (the Ava she loves) back. It would be the season where Beatrice and Ava had to fight for their love and win.

Just a reminder to everyone that Simon has gone out of his way to continue communication with fans and to let us know updates when he can. There are too many posts criticising him for not releasing more information when we can only imagine the level of work that has gone on behind the scenes. He will release information when he can, he should not be criticised for his contractual obligations or taking his time to finalise details which will be out of his hands. He shared in our grief, he entered our spaces to hear our thoughts and took time out to do interviews. It’s easy to forget that he wasn’t obligated to do any of that, but he still did. I know we’re all excited and a little impatient, but this guy has gone above and beyond. Let’s continue supporting him by showing how grateful we are ♥️
