Hi. So this is based on something similar that happened on a family holiday once.
WandaNat mums and kid reader.
R is half asleep when we arrive at the airport. Mums are busy with Yelena and the twins so we get quickly sat on the suitcases and wheeled inside.
Everyone enjoys the first day on holiday, until it comes to bedtime. R can't find her baby blanket anywhere. The whole family look and nothing. Until Natasha thinks back and realises it's still in the car.
Knowing we can't sleep without our blankie Natasha calls in a favour and makes the 8 hour round flight to pick the comfort item up.
The next morning (where we're super grumpy and demand that mummy Wanda carries us around) we shuffle into the living room to find both mama nat and blankie curled up on the sofa.
Totally exhausted we curl up with mama and sleep almost straight away.
We never realise what mama had just done for us. But Mummy does. And she falls more in love with her for it.
Please and thank you 😊
The pink bear blankie
Tumblr media
Y/N: 3 years old Billy and Tommy: 10 years old Wanda: Mommy Natasha: Mama ——————————————————
NO ONE'S POV "Sleepy, mama" Y/N whines, burying her head into Natasha's neck as the redhead only just took her out of the car, one of Y/N's small hands playing with Natasha's ear piercings while the other one is wrapped around her mama's neck tightly.
"I know you are, sweetheart. You can sleep on the plane, yeah?" Natasha smiles, pressing a kiss to her baby's cheek while rubbing her back.
"Boys, you got everything?" Wanda asks her two sons, raising an eyebrow as they've been arguing about something.
"Yes, mom" Both answer.
"Yelena, do you have everything?" Natasha asks her sister, knowing she's the one who's most likely to forget something.
"Yes, yes, Natasha. I have everything" Yelena rolls her eyes, taking her suitcase and walking inside just behind the boys and Wanda.
"And now you, детка" Natasha sits the tiny girl that's been in her arms on her suitcase, getting a tired smile in response. "Is that fun, Y/N/N?" She asks with a chuckle, looking at her daughter who's tiredly smiling and looking around. (baby)
———
The flight was fine. Y/N fell asleep as soon as Natasha sat down with her on her lap, the boys were busy with watching a movie, Yelena was listening to some music and Wanda with Natasha had finally some time to talk and just enjoy each other's presence.
As soon as the family arrived to the holiday house they're staying at and unpacked some of their things, they went on the beach.
Everyone had a great time, especially Y/N as she got to build a sandcastle with both her mommies while Yelena was doing silly things with the twins.
"It's bedtime for Y/N, baby. Come on" Wanda smiles, lifting her daughter up with a playful groan. "Say night night"
"Ni-night" Y/N says, resting her head on Wanda's shoulder and giving everyone in the room a wave.
The tiny girl would normally complain about going to bed, but today has really worned her out. Natasha smiles, pressing a kiss to her baby's forehead and telling her goodnight along with the others.
Wanda carries Y/N into the bedroom, placing her down on bed, but the tiny girl sits up immediately.
"Where's my blankie, mommy?" Y/N questions, not seeing her little pink bear blankie anywhere in bed.
"I'm sure it's somewhere around, baby" Wanda assures, looking for the item.
She's one hundred percent sure Y/N had her blankie when they left their house, so it must be somewhere around, right?
After minutes of looking around, Wanda just sits her daughter on her hip and carries her back to the living room where is the rest of the family playing uno.
"Everything okay?" Natasha asks, noticing her wife and daughter's presence in the living room.
"Have you seen Y/N's blankie? " Wanda asks, getting a no from everybody. "Can you help us find it?"
"Alright, let's go, boys" Natasha smiles, standing up.
Every single person starts looking for Y/N's blankie. They search through every single corner of the house, but the baby blanket is just nowhere.
Natasha goes through her mind, trying to picture the whole day and then it clicks. Y/N last had her blankie in the car, so they must had left it there.
"You can stop looking, I think I know where it is" Natasha sighs, walking over to Wanda who looks at her with hope the blankie is found. "I think it stayed in the car"
"Oh no, what do we do now? Y/N won't sleep without it" Wanda sighs.
"Mommy" Y/N whines, making her way over to her mothers. It's already way past her bedtime and she's extremely tired, but without her blankie she just won't sleep.
"I know, honey" Wanda sighs once again, lifting Y/N up and sitting her on her hip. "How about you try to sleep without your blankie tonight, hm?"
Those words are enough to make Y/N cry and Natasha volunteers to try to put Y/N down as it's time for the boys to go to sleep too by now.
So while Wanda's tucking in the twins, Yelena's occupying the TV and Natasha's walking around the whole place, rocking her crying daughter back and forth while humming her a lullaby.
But after two hours of not making any progress, she gives up. If they want to get some sleep during the vacation there's only one thing to do.
"Nat, are you sure? It's so late and the flight is so long" Wanda sighs.
"I am. Y/N obviously won't go to sleep without it. I'll just grab it and be back by morning" Natasha smiles and pecks Wanda's lips before placing a kiss to Y/N's head who is now in Wanda's arms. "I love you"
"I love you too" Wanda smiles back, stealing one more kiss from her wife and then watching her leave.
———
Y/N slept for like 3 hours in total during the night. Both, her and Wanda, are absolutely exhausted, but if there's no blankie, there's just no sleep.
"Noo, mommy, no" Y/N whines, lifting her tiny legs up, so Wanda wouldn't be able to stand her on the ground.
Wanda doesn't have the energy to deal with another tantrum, so she just goes with it and somehow manages to make a quick breakfast for her and Y/N with her grumpy daughter attached to her hip.
Y/N eventually decides to watch a cartoon in the living room after breakfast. And because she refuses to walk once again, Wanda carries her there.
"Mama" Y/N whispers to herself, a grin appearing on her face when she spots her mama curled up with her blankie on the couch and sleeping. "Mommy, down!" She immediately orders, trying to wiggle out of Wanda's strong hold.
And as soon as Wanda manages to stand her daughter on the ground, Y/N runs to the couch, climbing it and cuddling up to Natasha and the blankie.
Wanda can't help but smile on the sight. She still can't believe Natasha just flew all the way to New York and back just to pick up Y/N's blankie.
Her smile widens when she realizes Y/N's already fast asleep, curled up into her mama's side with her blankie secured in her arms.
Y/N is still just a little girl and surely won't realize what Natasha did for her, but Wanda knows. And this is exactly why she fell in love with the redhead in the first place.
Natasha would do anything for their children and that's what Wanda adores the most. And every single moment like this just makes her fall more and more in love with her wife.

Part One || Part Three
Tumblr media
You watched as your boyfriend gave the overactive toddler a ride on his shoulders for the third time today. Soda was giggling and shrieking as she pulled on Sal’s shoulder-length blue hair. “Uncle Sawwy! I’m so high!” She shrieked giddily, kicking her legs in the air against Sal’s shoulders.
“Yes you are baby,” he cooed, spinning around and causing another gleeful sound to leave Soda’s lips.
“It’s time for dinner!” You called from the kitchen as you plated up the food you had been preparing. Chug and Maple would be back any minute now, but you knew they had had a busy day shopping and whatnot so you thought you’d feed Soda for them.
“Uncle Sawwy, take me to the din din table!” Soda yelled, pointing in the direction of the kitchen.
“You got it angel,” Sal said, manoeuvring his way through the sea of toys scattered amongst the floor and to the kitchen. He placed Soda at the table who immediately licked her lips upon seeing food. She certainly had her fathers appetite. Sal walked over to you after securing Soda at the table and wrapped his arm around your waist. “You look good being all motherly.”
“You think?” You asked softly.
“I know,” Sal whispered, pressing another kiss to your temple. You both watched from the side as Soda wolfed down her food, hardly even chewing the contents before swallowing. Sal chuckled before narrowing his eyes. “Soda, you need to be careful when you eat!” Sal said, slight panic in his voice.
“Why uncle Sawwy?” Soda asked, looking towards Sal.
“If you don’t chew your food, you could choke!” Sal exclaimed, trying to be as lighthearted as he possibly could.
“Oh otay,” she said before taking another mouthful of her food, this time chewing properly.
You looked at Sal and grinned. “What?” He asked, raising an eyebrow under his prosthetic.
“You look good being all fatherly,” you said, mimicking his words.
“I know,” he grinned, pressing his prosthetic to the side of your face as if he was trying to kiss your temple. You looked up at him and smiled softly. You both continued to watch Soda eat and not long after she had finished, Chug and Maple came home.
“We’re home!” Maple chimed as she smiled softly at the three of you. You were sitting on the sofa now, curled up watching Soda’s favourite movie.
“Mummy! Daddy!” Soda said, quickly retreating from her spot on the sofa and toddling over to her mother and father. “Uncle Sawwy gave me a wide on his shoulders!”
“Did he?” Maple asked, laughing slightly.
Soda nodded in response before sticking up three fingers and exclaiming, “three times!”
“Want one more before we head off, Soda?” Sal asked, standing up and holding his arms out to the toddler. Soda nodded and walked, unsteadily, over to Sal who picked her up with ease and placed her on his shoulders. He began to walk quickly around the room, delighting in hearing Soda’s giggles.
You stood up and walked over to Chug and Maple with a smile on your face. “How was shopping?” You asked.
Chug shrugged. “It was alright,” he replied.
“You know, he’d make an excellent father one day,” Maple said, motioning towards Sal.
You nodded in agreement, the smile on your face never faltering. “He will.”
You and Sal had said your goodbyes quickly, hugging the little girl that had captured your hearts before heading back home. You knew where this was going. Sal’s hand never left yours as you made the short walk back to the apartment, his grip becoming increasingly harder the closer you got. When you arrived, you kicked your shoes off and said hello to Henry and Lisa before Sal mindlessly dragged you to your shared bedroom. “God, what are you doing to me?” Sal asked as he took off his prosthetic and placed it carefully on the bedside table.
“What do you mean?” You asked, your head automatically tilting to the side.
“Just wanna fuck you and stuff you full of my cum, all day everyday until your swollen with my babies,” Sal growled as he pressed his lips fiercely to yours. You let out a gasp of surprise as his lips collided with yours. Your soft lips moulded against his scarred ones as if you were made for him. Sal was quick in undressing you, throwing your clothes every which way around the room for you to find later before pushing you onto the bed. You could already see how rock hard his cock was against his skinny jeans, but Sal was quick to remove his jeans, finally freeing his cock from its restraints. His cock sprung up to attention, your mouth watering at the sight of it throbbing for you. His balls were heavy, full of cum that he wanted to pour into your womb. Sal got onto his knees at the edge of the bed and pulled you by your legs. You let out a shriek of surprise as his face immediately delved between your legs, tongue lapping at your folds and clit like a man starved, not even giving you time to comprehend what was happening.
“Sal,” you whimpered softly, hands falling to tangle into his blue hair.
“Yeah baby?” He asked, pulling away from your pussy momentarily to look into your eyes.
“Don’t stop,” you beg quietly, pushing his face further into your already dripping cunt.
He mumbled something against your folds but you couldn’t understand what he said. He sucked deliciously at your clit. Obscene noises of his slurping filled the room and you felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. “Shit, you taste so good.”
“Don’t say that,” you whimpered, covering your face with your hands.
Sal pulled away from you, kissing up your thighs to your stomach, to your neck and then finally to your lips. “Taste yourself on my tongue,” he groaned, shoving his tongue into your mouth immediately. You let out a moan at the intrusion, eyes rolling back into your head momentarily. When Sal finally pulled away from your lips, he was breathless. Gazing into your eyes, he slicked his cock up your slit to lubricate himself before pushing into you slowly, a quiet moan falling from his lips. You grasped the sheets below you as Sal placed your legs over his shoulder, forcing his cock to kiss your cervix. “You gonna make me a daddy tonight, huh?” He asked, kissing your cheeks.
“Yes,” you managed to choke out, tears springing to the corner of your eyes at both the pain and pleasure you were feeling.
“Good girl,” Sal groaned, kissing away your tears. “Fuck, you feel so fucking tight around me.”
“Oh God Sal,” you cry, trying to wriggle away from him slightly.
“Hey, hey,” he growled in your ear. “Where do you think you’re going?” He asked, pulling you back against him. “You gotta make me a daddy tonight baby. Fuck, I need it.”
“I will! I will!” You screech, not caring as to whether Henry or Lisa could hear you anymore.
“Shhh baby girl,” Sal cooed softly. His fingertips dug into your hips and you felt like you were going to break at any minute.
“Gonna cum Sal,” you whimpered softly.
“Yeah? You gonna cum precious?” He mocked, his hips still rutting into you at a pace out of this world. You nodded enthusiastically, a hand flying down to your clit to rub quick circles against the sensitive nub. Within seconds you were spraying your juices all over Sal and his torso, not caring about the mess you were making. “Ohh you’re such a good girl for me,” Sal groaned.
“So good,” you whimpered softly. Your voice was barely audible but Sal had managed to hear you.
“Gonna fill you up now baby,” Sal whispered into your ear as his hips stuttered against yours. “Make. Me. A. Daddy,” he growled with each thrust of his hips. You nodded, completely fucked out. You felt his thick ropes shoot deep into you, his cock twitching with his release. You let out a silent moan as Sal shivered against you, but he didn’t pull out. He kept you plugged up as he kissed your tear stained cheeks. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” You whisper softly, leaning against his touch. “You really have baby fever, don’t you Sal?”
“You have no idea,” he chuckled. The two of you cuddled like that for the rest of the night, with him plugging you up to make sure his cum didn’t escape from your cunt as he whispered sweet nothings into your ear. This one felt like it would be the one.

Summary: Chris has a bad day when he can't keep his routines, but things get worse when he and (Y/n) get in a car crash and the 118 don't know Eddie has a family.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
"Mummy…"
Turning her head, (Y/n) looked back over at Christopher but the smile on her face started to fade when she saw the frown setting into his brows and the slight slope of his lips.
"What's wrong baby?" She turned the trolley round and slowly headed over to him.
Instead of answering, Chris reached out and patted his hand against the bare shelf on his left and with each tap, his effort got stronger until he was slamming his fingers down on the shelf and making a thudding noise that echoed through the shop. (Y/n) let go of the trolley and kneeled down in front of him to see what the problem was but she sucked in a deep breath when she realised what was missing from the shelf.
Cookies.
Pushing up, (Y/n) bounced on her heels and scanned the rest of the shelves in case they had been moved higher up and Chris simply couldn't find the brand he wanted. He liked the thin baked cookies with animal shapes baked into the underside and chocolate on top. They came in a dark purple packet that was hard to miss.
They always bought three packets every Friday to last him the week, he took a few in his pack up to school and always demolished a full pack on a Friday night when they watched Thomas the Tank Engine movie. The same movie every Friday, the same snacks and the same pyjamas and blanket.
"Excuse me, do you know where the animal snaps are?"
The elderly lady in front of (Y/n) leaned back to see where she was pointing before she clicked her tongue and shook her head.
"Sorry, we don't sell those anymore."
"Fuck,"
(Y/n) bit her tongue and turned back round to Chris. How could they not make those anymore? They were specific, they were this store's home brand cookies, that was the whole reason they did their weekly shop at this store every Friday, without fail. Come rain or shine, (Y/n) and Chris were here after he finished school and those cookies were always in the trolley.
"Uh, we'll get some other ones for now and I'll Google and see if anywhere else sells them and we can go somewhere else." She didn't even manage to get her phone out her pocket before Chris shook his head.
He slipped his arms out of his crutches, let them drop to the floor and then flopped down until he was sat on the polished floor with his head against the shelf and his arms around his chest.
Oh dear.
It wasn't as if (Y/n) could buy similar cookies and replace the packaging with the brand Chris was used to. He would taste the difference, he had a specific pallet like (Y/n) did, they could both tell when they didn't have sugar in their coke or when the crisps were the cheap brand or not the specific store brand they were used to.
Chris was a stickler for routine, it kept him content and relaxed, they helped shape and control his life. Fridays were for shopping and cookies and the same movie that he could watch five times over and not be bored of.
He didn't want different cookies or a different snack for a Friday night. He didn't want a similar brand that looked different and tasted tangy with bittersweet chocolate.
"Baby, let's finish the shopping and we can look across town for them," (Y/n) went down on her knees in front of him and reached out to him but she knew they weren't going to get finished here.
"Home."
"Now baby-"
"Home. Home. Home!" Chris reached out for whatever was on the shelf next to him and grabbed a bag of flour from the bottom shelf. It was a bit heavy for him but he moved quicker than (Y/n) anticipated and managed to throw it between his legs and bash his hands down on it like he was playing the drums. A gust of flour spread through the air around them and a powder of white settled down on (Y/n)'s face until she had to close her eyes and cough to get a clear breath.
The flour settled on Chris's glasses and covered his hands before he felt (Y/n) hoist him up by his underarms and lift him from the floor.
She juggled Chris in her left arm despite how heavy he was starting to get, and grabbed both crutches with her free hand and moved back to the trolley. It was usually Eddie who would carry Chris in and out of the car and pick him up if he got upset or had a meltdown. Despite the meltdowns Chris would have, he always stopped immediately if he was comforted, a cuddle or being carried always stopped him.
Especially if it was Eddie holding him.
"Okay baby, we'll go home."
(Y/n) sat him on the trolley handlebar, shoved his crutches in the trolley and whispered a quiet 'sorry' to the lady who was already smiling and shaking her head politely.
He left his legs swinging between them but kept his arms tightly bound around (Y/n)'s neck and his face buried in her chest so she had to lean over the trolley while she pushed it towards the checkout. They barely had half the things on their list. She would have to come back tomorrow and see if Eddie's Abuela would have Chris for an hour. If the shopping wasn't done on a Friday, Chris wouldn't go unless it was to the toy shop.
Her back started to burn and ache when they reached the checkout and Chris still wouldn't let go of her. (Y/n) had to carry him on her hip as long as she could while leaning in the trolley and putting the items on the checkout. When her back and arm started to strain, (Y/n) set Chris down on his feet and let him coil his arms around her waist instead and burrow into her side.
"Home. Is daddy home?"
(Y/n) was relieved Chris had said something a little more than home when they were back outside the car. He was sat back on the trolley, arms around her neck and his face so close to hers she had to kiss his nose to try cheer him up.
"He won't be home yet baby, but when we get back you can ring him and talk to him, how's that sound?"
"Hm." He let (Y/n) lift him him up and put him in his car seat in the back of the car but he wouldn't unwind his arms from her neck. "No, mummy, no." He started to whine in her ear until he was almost crying and his arms were shaking from how tight he was holding her against his chest.
"Christopher," Her warning tone was enough to make him let go and he let her strap him in.
His head fell against the headrest and he brought his hand up to his mouth so he could bite down on his thumb. There was no trace of his usual bright smile on his lips and he closed his eyes and burrowed into his seat.
It was going to be a long day.
***
"You all know the drill, spread out, anyone who can walk or with minimal injuries, send them to the medics. Anyone you can't free yourself, shout out. Go."
They all knew where they needed to divert to. Eddie and Hen were already getting a woman out of her car on the outskirts of the crash. Chimney was with another medic helping anyone who could freely get out of their vehicles and make their way to assistance. And Bobby was heading down with Buck towards the cars that were more damaged, wedged in the middle of the mess.
Reaching a dark red fiesta, Buck narrowed his eyes and climbed over the bonnet to reach the driver's side. The back of the car was crumpled up against the divider between the motorway and van had crashed into the passenger side and wedged it into a corner.
"Miss? Fire and rescue, can you hear me?"
Buck sucked in a deep breath when he opened the door and it fell off its hinges, crashing down to the floor. He bent down and leaned on the edge of the car but he could see immediately that the driver was unconscious.
Her hair was fanned across her face, her chin was tilted down into her chest and she was slumped to the left. Buck tried to look for injuries but the most pressing one he could see was her right leg. It was broken so badly the bone was sticking out halfway down beneath her knee.
"Mummy!"
A shiver bolted down Evan's spine and he grabbed the roof to steady himself. He hadn't thought to look in the back.
A little boy, roughly seven or eight, was sat in a car seat behind the passenger seat. He had a cut to his brow, he was trembling, his glasses were hanging around his neck on red string and he was biting his thumb like he was about to chomp through it.
"Hey there, my name's Buck I'm a fireman. Can you tell me mummy's name?"
"Mummy… I want mummy." He reached his arm out towards the driver's seat and made a fist and a grabbing motion to try and reach her but the seatbelt was strapped too tight and he couldn't get it off.
"Can you tell me your name?"
"Christopher."
"Good lad, stay put and I'm gonna get you and mummy out of here, alright? Are you hurt?"
When Chris shook his head, Buck managed a smile before he leaned over the driver and reached for her bag that was still resting on the passenger seat. He could see her eyes fluttering behind her eyelids, he needed a name and address to give the hospital when they got her transferred and helped out. Someone would have to come and take Christopher when they got to hospital or they would have to call social services for him.
He found her purse quickly and rummaged around for her driver's license but when he read her name, all the blood drained down to his feet and pins and needles coursed through his legs.
Oh God.
"Cap… Cap I need assistance, badly." His hand shook around the radio, he couldn't say anything else lest Eddie heard him through the radio and got panicked. He was busy helping someone with Hen, they couldn't risk panicking him until he had sorted his patient. "Just gonna put this on your neck (Y/n)," Buck whispered quietly and grabbed a neck brace from his bag.
He carefully tilted her head back and clipped the brace around her neck to keep her head in place. He didn't know what kind of spinal or nerve injuries she might have sustained and he didn't want to give her any further pain. It was a good sign that she groaned when he moved her though, she was coming back round.
"Buck, what have you got?" Bobby knelt down near the passenger door but when he noticed the little boy in the back, he quickly moved to jam open the back door.
"Cap, it's uh… her name is (Y/n) Diaz… Eddie never said he was married."
Buck wasn't sure if he was getting the wrong assumption, she could still be Mrs Diaz and be Eddie's sister. Maybe she kept her last name when she got married. Eddie did have three sisters after all. Or she could be a cousin. Eddie never said anything about going home to a family after work, he didn't mention having a child waiting at home for him. Eddie never indulged about a family and Buck told him everything about his life.
"You must be Christopher, I'm Bobby, I work with your dad. Can I check you over and get you out of here?"
Bobby dared to glance his eyes across at Buck whose face fell and his jaw dropped. Eddie really had hid a whole other life from him- from the rest of the team. The only one Eddie told was Bobby because he had to divulge personal information when he had the job interview. He had to tell Bobby that he had a wife and son at home and if his son had a disability, in case he ever had to rush off shift and go to the hospital or take a personal phone call on shift.
"Daddy, I want daddy." Christopher's words were mumbled around his thumb that he wouldn't stop biting.
"I'll take you to your dad, don't worry. Eddie, when you get a second come over to the red Fiesta near the front pile up please."
"On my way."
Bobby reached over and wiggled the seat buckle hard enough to wrench it free and let Chris breathe better. He had a small cut on his chest from where it had pinned into his skin and glued him to his seat. There was a cut on his head and he pointed down to his foot but when Bobby checked, it wasn't broken or fractured. Most likely sprained.
The car seat had saved him from most of the impact.
"Okay, come here." Bobby carefully picked him up and lifted him out of the car but when he turned round, he held his breath.
'Here we go.'
The medic bag in Eddie's hand dropped down to his feet and he stumbled back a pace until he felt Hen's hand on his back and her worried whispers in his ear asking what was wrong. He thought Bobby saying a red fiesta was a bit unnerving; it was the same car as (Y/n)'s.
But the moment his eyes latched onto his captain, he felt like his world had turned upside down.
He knew that mop of brown curls anywhere and those legs that were kicking and swinging like he always did when he got picked up and carried around. That was his little boy.
"Christopher? Oh God, Chris! I'm here bud I'm here!"
Eddie pulled away from Hen and weaved through the cars towards his son who started to scream. His arms started to wave and when Bobby put him down, his voice overtook the sound of the car horns and the raised voices begging for help. All Eddie could hear was his boy screaming his name and waving his arms out towards him.
"Daddy!"
"I'm here, oh bud I've got you." Tears fell down Eddie's face when his arms looped around his son and he lifted him from the floor. He couldn't breathe when Chris snapped his arms so tightly around his neck and burrowed his face into his neck.
He cupped the back of Chris's head, tangling his fingers in his curls as he kissed the side of his head repeatedly.
"Are you alright?"
"Foot hurts… mummy won't wake up. No cookies in shop, you take us home now. Daddy I wanna go home." There was too much rattling around in Chris's head and he couldn't cope. His foot was aching, his mum wouldn't answer him when he cried out for her. They didn't have cookies in the shop so tonight's movie night was now ruined. And then the car started to spin and everyone was crying.
But Eddie was here now. Eddie could take them both home and look after them.
Eddie's hand tangled tighter into Chris's curls and he got closer to the passenger side of the car and peered down. (Y/n) was crying. She was awake now and she was sobbing her heart out. Eddie had to get her out of there, he had to get them both to the hospital and look after them.
"Chris, buddy can you wait here with Bobby for me so I can get mummy out?"
Bobby nodded and held his arms out again but Chris wouldn't have it. His arms stayed tight around Eddie's neck and he started to whimper and cry. He wasn't leaving either of his parents, he was staying right where he was in Eddie's arms.
"You take us home. Now. Home-"
"Buddy I can't take you home, I have to get mummy out she's hurt."
"Home!"
Eddie tipped his head back as if to try and force the tears into the back of his head and his lips pressed into a thin line when Chris started to cry. His hands bashed down on the back of Eddie's chest and shoulders and his legs started to swing and hit out at his legs and knees so much Chris himself cried from the pain it caused in his sprained foot.
"Buddy please-"
"Home-"
"Christopher Diaz!" The moment the name passed through his lips, Chris stopped kicking out and gasped when Eddie dropped down to his knees onto the tarmac.
Huffs, sniffs and bubbling cries passed through Chris's lips but he loosened his arms around Eddie's neck and tilted his head down to burrow his face into Eddie's florescent jacket that smelled of dirt and smoke. A smell he always associated with his dad from this job he'd had for the past eight months.
"I promise, when I get mummy out and safe, I will not let either of you out of my sight. And when mummy is okay, I will take you home and we will sort everything out. I will make it better, I always do. Now you stay with Bobby, understand?"
With a lasting kiss to Chris's temple, Eddie picked him back up and let Bobby take hold of him and set him on his hip. Bobby stood off to the side so Chris could still see his parents but he wasn't close enough to see the damage or get too frightened. The little boy burrowed his head against Bobby's and started to pat his chest rhythmically to calm himself down.
Eddie wasted no time in climbing into the passenger seat but when he looked across at Buck, he could see something flare in his eyes. Maybe he should have told the team- or at least Buck, about his family.
But he didn't like mixing work and personal life and he never thought he would be on scene where his family had been in a car crash.
"Mi amor, it's me, how we doing?"
"Eddie! God, baby… where's Chris?" (Y/n) managed to open her eyes and when the tears fell down her face, she craned her eyes to the left to look at her husband. It was a Godsend to hear his voice. She had no idea who the other man next to her was, the only person on the team she had spoken to before was Bobby. But the other lad next to her seemed very concerned which was sweet.
"He's fine, Cap's got him, just a bad foot that's it." Eddie kissed her temple and reached down to hold her hand. "This is Buck, we're gonna get you out…" Eddie looked over at Buck but when he glanced down at (Y/n)'s leg, Eddie could feel bile rising in his throat.
"(Y/n), I'm going to put a strap around your thigh to restrict the bleeding, then we can get you on a stretcher and out of here, alright?"
"W-what's wrong with my leg? Baby, i-is it bad?"
(Y/n) tried to look at Eddie but she couldn't move her head due to the neck brace she had woken up with. Everything ached and burned but both of her legs felt they were on fire. What was wrong with her leg? Has she broken it or got a deep gash that was bleeding out? It didn't feel like her leg was hanging off or in bad shape.
Moving over, Eddie leaned across (Y/n) with one hand on the seat and the other moved to cup her face so he was in her line of sight. His thumb brushed over her cheek and he managed a smile before he leaned over and gently pecked her lips.
"You've broken it, mi amor but we can get it fixed up. Stay really still so Buck can strap it."
(Y/n) brought her hand up to grab Eddie's wrist and she nodded, keeping her eyes on him when she felt Buck shuffle a small plastic strap beneath her thigh. Her teeth gritted together and she gasped when he pulled it tight and popped the pin in. She had to be bleeding for them to cut off her blood supply.
"I'm gonna round the other side so we can get you out," He kissed her again before he scrambled out of the car. They had to move her now, her leg was in bad shape and Eddie could feel the car overheating. It was a trap ready to blow.
Her hand reached up to rub her temple, her head felt like it was splitting and her back was burning. She tried to push forward to relieve the pain in her back but when she heard Buck mutter no and his hands grabbed her shoulders, she looked down.
"Eddie!" His name screamed from her lips and she pushed back in the chair, moving her hands to grip her thigh like she was going to magically fix it. Another tortured scream flew past her lips before a gurgling cry errupted and she slammed her head against the headrest. "Eddie, ooh fuck, Eddie-"
Her bone was sticking out. Her trouser leg was no longer dark blue, it was a horrid shade of crimson and a sprig of bone was punctured out along with a torn piece of muscle that made (Y/n) almost throw up.
She couldn't lose her leg. Christopher needed her, she had to drive, they had their routines, their walks and their physio they did in the park to keep him up and active. She carried her boy around when he needed her, she couldn't lose her leg. If they saved it, how long would she have to be in a cast? She couldn't look after Chris if she was on crutches too or God forbid, she had to be in a wheelchair. He was going to be petrified enough after this whole ordeal.
Buck moved out the way and took Eddie's place in the passenger seat so Eddie could crouch beside his wife.
his hands moved to cup (Y/n)'s face and he took a very deep, slow breath and managed a smile to try and calm her down. He couldn't have her panicking on him now, they had to get her out.
"Mi amor, shh. You're gonna be fine, we can fix this. I'm gonna spin you round and Buck will get your legs, and we'll lift you out of here. Christopher is waiting for us, come on mi amor you got this." He kissed her head, peppered his lips across her cheek and down her jaw until she nodded in agreement with him.
"Here we go (Y/n), on three."
Buck kneeled up on the chair and leaned over, carefully holding her knees in place while Eddie twisted her round so her back was flush up against his chest. His hands slipped under her arms and he gripped her flesh comfortingly tight and nodded over at Buck.
"One, two, three."
Eddie took her weight on his chest and started shuffling back while Buck climbed over the seat, trailing his hands beneath (Y/n)'s legs to hold her ankles and elevate her legs.
The scream (Y/n) let out made Eddie tip his head back and he held his breath to try and compose himself. He felt her hands reaching back to grip his biceps and ground herself while the boys carried her to the stretcher Hen was waiting with.
"Baby d-don't go… p-please get Chris,"
"I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere." He smothered her temple with a kiss and held her hand until they got near the ambulance Bobby had moved over to. When they were close enough, Eddie reached his free arm out and looped it around Chris's waist and sat him on his hip. "I've got you both, you're safe. I'm here."
"Daddy," Chris wrapped his arms around Eddie's neck when they were in the ambulance and he perched on his dad's lap. He could feel his dad kissing his hair and his mum rubbing her hand up and down his leg, both of them doing their best to keep him calm and stable.
They would be okay.
completely unseriously, maybe the reason the buckley siblings have made it well past adulthood not having seen Movies is because family movie night wasn't a thing in the buckley household.
maybe maddie had no time to sit down and watch movies between like, school, and raising her little brother, and trying desperately to have some semblance of a social life - you know. before she met doug and was isolated from everyone she knew and loved, huh! maybe she worked to put herself through nursing school and then worked as a nurse and idk, tried to be a good wife because her husband was, you know, doug kendall.
and maybe buck spent all of his time Outside doing stupid shit and getting himself hurt. and maybe he was busy working odd jobs all over the country like a nomad and trying to create a little found family with what appears to be a frathouse-esque group of overgrown boys whose idea of a good time wasn't staying in to watch the mummy (1999).
once again don't take my ramblings too seriously. it's just a quirky thing canon gave us. and it's super cute that they've coupled up with chimney & tommy who will make pop culture references and laugh together and then judge you if you don't get it. i hope to see this ten more times on my screen actually.
i was just thinking about the buckley siblings' formative years and man, those two were never socialised properly, huh? they grew up in very different ways in the same house raised by the same parents. they seem to have similar traumas but very different coping mechanisms. growing up feeling unloved fucks you up. anyway.
and while i'm here yeah bi!maddie hc cool and all but i dont see a girl with a crush on her bff i see a girl who is isolated from her extended family forced to live keeping a secret from her younger brother and not being allowed to talk about her dead brother. she was 14 that's like. 4 years after daniel's death right. maybe sarah b. was the first real friend she had in the new strange town her parents moved her too ykno! maybe she was clinging to her one (1) friend and didn't cope well with said friend getting super close with a new person. that's actually far more interesting to me than bi!maddie idk
Do you think Kusuriuri has some kind of connection to Egyptian mythos?
This mostly pertains to Ri-Kusuriuri from the 2007 anime, but I found some influences in Kun-Kusuriuri from the 2024 movie as well.
Kohl makeup resembles the medicine seller's eyeliner. The lines extending from that eyeliner resemble the eyes of Ra and Horus representing the sun (Yang) and moon (Yin) respectively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's just scratching the surface. More thoughts below the cut!
In afterlife, the scale of Maat judges the state of one's heart. The tenbin, which tip towards the "heavy" souls of mononoke, operate on a similar mechanic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The symbol on the tenbin's center also resembles Arabic, which is a spoken language in Egypt. Coincidentally, these glyphs also have a remarkable resemblance to the glyphs on Kun-Kusuriuri's ofuda.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Straight-up hieroglyphs on the exorcism sword's box, which in my opinion also gives me mummy box/case (the box that encases the sarcophagus) vibes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually – I did a bit more digging, and it seems like pharaohs' sarcophagi are entombed in what I believe is called "nesting shrines".
The sword, adorned with precious jewels, is the innermost sarcophagus for the sword spirit . The talisman around the sword (especially in Kun's case) resembles mummy wrappings (I know the order is mixed up but bear with me here):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As mentioned before, the box is one of the outer "shrines" encasing the sarcophagus. And using that logic, the medicine box itself is the outermost "shrine".
I like how in some movies where characters have specific names that are gendered differently due to translation they get upgraded with extra pronouns
Hey yeah this is the new emotion, Η Ντροπή, δεν του αρέσει χψ
No but like seriously, I just watched inside out 2, embarrassment is a feminine word, Embarrassment the character is a dude,
So the introduction was like This is Embarrassment, he doesn't like eye contact
Like it's so fun seeing them play with pronouns like that
So simple no one gives a shit, she/her name for he/him pronouns
And it was similar in the Tad movie too
With the mummy, mummy is a feminine word which was his name so again they were like she mummy my bro guy best friend
Love to see it👌
So Sweet
rhea x reader
content: pure fluff, something cute and simple
Tumblr media
It was movie night with the Judgment Day. You had one every month, it wasn’t the same weekend but you made sure that there was one. You made a group chat so that they could request what movie and you made the list of who goes when: Dom, Finn, You, Rhea, and Damian, always in that order, no if’s and’s or but’s.
Surprisingly, you and Dom had similar movie tastes, so the two of you were always arguing over who could choose that movie for the night, and you always won. You made sure that everyone was okay with the movies chosen and even made sure everyone brought a snack.
Though you and Rhea lived together, you insisted that she still had to bring her snack, “but we can say it’s both of ours,” she would say.
“No, baby, it doesn’t count,” was always your response.
Tonight it was at your house, so you spent all day cleaning while Rhea went to the gym, to the store, dropped off something at work, and then came back to help. The two of you kept things pretty tidy so it wasn’t much work, but you enjoyed the domesticated side of it all.
You set the lighting to red and blue causing the room to be a light shade of purple, put out a lot of pillows and blankets and made sure there was plenty of room for snacks and drinks on the coffee table; they all loved the effort you put into it.
The time finally came and they showed up one by one, Finn first, then Damian, then Dom. You helped them carry in their respective items and gestured them to the drink counter and food table.
“You always make it so cozy,” Finn said.
“Yes, I love when it’s at your house, hermana,” Damian added, “it’s like a sleep over.”
“Aw thanks,” you smile wide as he gives you a hug, he always had the best hugs, after Rhea’s of course.
They help you set up the snacks and drinks before getting cozy on the couch.
You cuddle up next to Rhea with the big bowl of popcorn, then Dom next to her. Damian sits on the other side of you but Finn laid on the floor.
“What are you doing bro?” Rhea cocked an eyebrow at him.
“I get too hot next to all of ya,” he said innocently.
“Oh come on, you don’t want to cuddle?” Dom joked.
“Not with you,” he poked back.
Every one laughed in unison but let him be as you threw him a pillow and the lightest blanket.
“Alright, Dom’s choice up first,” you handed him the remote.
“Thank you,” he said with a cocky tone.
You chuckled as you rolled your eyes. He flipped through the streaming services to find the right one. He finally found it and pressed play on The Mummy with Brendan Fraser.
“Good choice,” Rhea nudged him.
“Thanks Mami,” as he took a sip of his drink.
The five of you watched the pre-chosen movies in order, laughing, crying, screaming, and laughing some more. Everything went perfectly and you couldn’t be happier to have your little family by your side.
GMMTV 2025
This year I had discussed two of my greatest peeves with GMMTV:
Lack of BL literacy and harrowing learning curve
Khujin paradox – it is their asset and liability
here & here
Having seen what GMMTV plans to offer in the year 2025, I have to admit that they might be on the right track.
Ticket To Heaven – I didn’t expect this. What percent of Thailand’s population is Christian? (Thailand has significant and influential Christian population.) Many frames and scenes in this one looks they were from the Japanese BL movie from 2007 Boys Love – School Boy Crush. Serendipitously, it is so similar to Jijo Kuriakose’s autobiographical queer film — Velipaadu (വെളിപ്പാട്) which also has seminarian main characters. But since the characters are Orthodox/Jacobite Christians but not Catholics there is additional compulsory heterosexuality.
Memoir of Rati – Most Beautiful Count colorism debacle has tarnished my love for Thai historical setting. This is one series where I really wish GMMTV did not stick to the nenja/wakashu style pairing. Yaoi revolution did not happen all those years ago for this to manifest in 2024-25. These aesthetic choices are something GMMTV and Change 2561 (among others) will learn to overcome. Eventually.
Me and Thee – I am not impressed by the choice of khujin for this role. The comedy is not working for me and I think that's probably because there is not enough gap moe between the actor playing the mafia boss and the mafia boss playing the actor. However, fans of this khujin might enjoy it immensely for the very reason. Love guru set up is underplayed, so I am expecting tonal shift half way through the series where the drama will play into the soap opera it is supposed be parodying. Some kidnapping and bloodshed maybe. Odo (royal road progression) is odo for a reason. Unintended consequence of the series was to remind me of my dearest wish to see unabridged version of Breath, the story of TulHin from Love By Chance 2) with shibari and all.
A Dog and a Plane - feels like a nice mix of Japanese BL Ossan’s Love: LOVE or DEAD and Ossan's Love: In the Sky and Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese. Since I thoroughly enjoyed both, I'm looking forward to this one. It also promises a lot of "wife-chasing" (My Stand-in's influence?) complete with a grand, lives-saving, heart-winning gesture.
Magic of Prophecy - Fortune telling as a reason for forced proximity in provincial Thailand seems nice but I'm afraid the series is going to go where The Sign went with superstitious local folks (as opposed to rational main characters, except it was a fantasy show hinging on those very local people's faith and festival) and gun violence. BL being a vehicle for Thaification is kind of inevitable but I wish it wasn't so and we would get more provincial shows like Love Poison. For a country that dared to give us Tropical Malady (2004) directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Malila: The Farewell Flower (2017) directed by Anucha Boonyawatana (director of Not Me), their BL needs to do better.
Boys in Love - honor student x diliquent is a beloved pairing but this neurotypical honor student is not sitting well with me at the moment thanks to Iwashiro from Outsider Communication by Natsume Tsuno overwhelming my brain. But that is a me problem. The other pairs are cool and is in line with the saccharine sweetness GMMTV is known for.
Cat for Cash - this is for that khujin's fans as well as for cat lovers. Surrealist comedy with glittering, sputtering succulents in Love is Like A Poison has raised my tolerance for this brand of romantic dramedy.
Mu-Te-Luv - I am intrigued because it gives me the kind of feeling that I got when I watched the trailer for Hello Mummy. I wonder how Thai audience will receive this series' take on the non-romantic themes it deals with. So, I'm equally apprehensive and excited.
Love You Teacher - surprisingly it is Thailand that managed to get this show going. De-aging is a popular trope in BL and fan-fiction. Given the taboo nature of de-aging as a set up it is hard to pull off. But, if anyone can do that it is Thailand. This is resourceful side of khujin - they can't take the jado (evil road) narrative progression. No twisted moe. Yet, it leaves space for deception. Faking or automatic de-aging to cope with repressed stress and anxiety, like selective mutism and amnesia. It will be about character growth and unconditional love. Otherwise, the price GMMTV would have to pay would be too steep.
Melody of Secrets - wow, a dark take on amnesia trope! Seems like GMMTV finally figured out how to tease a jado progression within an odo plot - by employing a (faux)-look-alike so as not to upset khujin fans' worldview while offering them a thrilling experience. But it is clear that GMMTV won't be able top commit to a proper jado plot. That not their brand. It will not help with branding and advertising. There's no helping it. The violin scene reminded me of the Japanese BL with numerous adaptations Fujimi Orchestra. Also, the mind-forgot-but-body-remembers trope?!
My Romance Scammer - gold digging, getting ONESELF trapped in the love trap that one laid and marry-first-regret-later tied with the friction of getting a divorce. I want it to have first ever remarriage of the same pair in a live action BL.
That Summer - how does Thailand keep getting casting net wrong? At least it is better than diving with the net we're got in love sea. Prince? Who was assaulted?  Found at a Thai beach? Reminds me of princess Latifa bint Mohammed Al Maktoum debacle.
Only Friends: Dream On - I like this set up more than the one for season 1. I wasn't happy about it and thought they could do better. I'm looking forward to this season. And for khujin fans, isn't it a good chance to enjoy netorare and stalking horse tropes since the Love Dodecahedron will anyway resolve into khujin pairings?
Burnout Syndrome - super pretty, shonen ai style art! Look at the nude he drew! Isn't it giving early BL vibes, from before the donkey dicks took over the BL manga scene thanks to Korea? Isn't it a beacon (please forgive the pun) of hope in the strange, new world of uncensored smut scenes in BL manhwa? Khujin's gonna khujin and stalking horse gonna stalking horse. I'm truly intrigued.
Head 2 Head - fine old wine, new bottle. Let's see if the wine (rivalry to romance, unrequited to required, college campus setting) can be as intoxicating when drunk from the new bottle.
Dare You To Death - Channel V style drama with khujin boarding together for reasons.  Unfortunately, it did not moe for me. Maybe because I'm still trying to get over Zheng Bei x Jiang XiaoHai ship from The First Shot 雪迷宫 that paled in comparison to Zheng Bei x Gu YiRan ship. Honestly, I started watching just to listen to Huang Jingyu say heroin (hailouyin) and accidental got too invested in the cop x kingpin ship.
I wonder who suggested GMMTV to add so much of occult and fortune-telling in their series. Also, I am a little worried after seeing this post by @guzhufuren and this post by @alwaysthepessimist - there is opposition to BL in East Asian countries led by certain groups of feminists based on the disproportionate benefit accruing to men (especially actors, voice actors, creators and production companies' executives), declining presence of women in entertainment and advertising as well as shifting purchasing power from women to men through consumption of BL.
Couple Costumes with JJK Men!
A/N: October is here so here is a halloween related thread! I couldn’t find a photo for the second costume I chose for Megumi and Gojo but just imagine there is one! Plus, apologies in advance for these photos - I couldn’t find any photos that reflected the vision in my head (who knew it would be hard to find simple halloween related photos!)
Tumblr media
GOJO
Tumblr media
Trying to figure out Gojo was so hard, but honestly all i can guarantee is that he’d want you to look sexy as FUCK.
He’d probably do the Ken and Barbie couples costume. Little did he know that he’d get so turned on by you in a pink cowboy outfit. BUT then he would remember the plot to the Barbie movie and ask questions like if it’s feminist to say you look sexy in the barbie costume 😭😭.
If it was a halloween party with the first and second years, then I feel like he’d dress up as a mummy. He typically wraps his eyes up so it’s an easy costume idea! You’d put on a cute archaeologist/Indiana Jones-esque outfit on! The kids thank you for wrapping up Gojo’s mouth with a bandage so they don’t have to hear him make corny jokes about their costumes 😭
GETO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was originally going to suggest Geto and you dressing up as a priest and a nun, but I feel as though that might be offensive!
SO, you guys dress as Grimm and Malaria (Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy)! It’s a cartoon show you both loved watching during your times at school (Shoko loved it too but she couldn’t handle you two flirting whilst the three of you would watch it on TV).
If not Billy and Mandy, then I could imagine a Batman and Catwoman costume (Rob Pat and Zoe Kravitz version). Simple, cheap, and effective! Plus, Geto in eye makeup??? Yes please!!
NANAMI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it would be difficult to persuade Nanami to wear a costume but if he did, it would be most likely something simple like Morticia and Gomez from the Addams Family!!
All he has to do is slick his hair down, wear a suit and a fake stache! Plus, he loves you just as much as Gomez loves Morticia so!!!
BUT if you can somehow really convince him then there’s also the option of dressing like Woody and Jessie from Toy Story.
The funky patterns of the Cowboy Costume reminds him of his funky tie so why wouldn’t he!! Plus, Nanami in a cowboy hat would be so cute (I need an artist to draw Nanami in a Woody costume ASAP!!)
MEGUMI
Tumblr media
Similar to Nanami, I think it would be difficult to convince Megumi to do something eccentric as a halloween costume.
He’d do something low maintenance with you like being skeletons together!!
Unless you trick him and paint cat whiskers on his face instead 🤭 Megumi as a lil black cat 🐈‍⬛ is so cute to me !!
He’d be slightly annoyed at first but the look on your face over him being a silly little kitten makes it worthwhile! The meowification of Megumi Fushiguro!
YUUJI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just know this boy loves Halloween!!! If he loves horror films then best believe he loves Halloween, okay!
That being said, I don’t think he’s super creative at designing costumes. The most creative he’d be is cutting two holes in your white bed sheets and throwing it over you! You might even pop some shades on Yuuji to make him look cooler 😎.
HOWEVER, if Yuuji is willing to splash some money on clothes and makeup, then best believe he’d dress up as Beast boy!! You’re obviously Raven ofc. Would definitely win best couple costume!
I know you have a lot of problems with the ending so I was wondering if you thought that horikoshi did a disservice to the series by giving away the ending he had planned only because he thought it would be great for the second movie? in general I feel like discarding that ending ended up accentuating the fact that at one point he kept dragging things out (overhaul arc, traitor plot, multiple quirks for deku, keeping endeavour alive even though I personally love his character). he dragged things until he couldn't take it anymore and sprinted to the end ; which led to incohesive writing later on, and a rushed ending bc he was milked to the core by WSJ.
I personally quite dislike the "original ending" in the second movie, and I think it shares a lot of the weaknesses of the ending we actually did get in the manga:
While it's technically a "Class A ending", much of Class A is quite marginalized in the movie, just like in the manga. The characters that end up getting a bit of a showcase apart from BK/DK are actually the same: Tokoyami, Mina, Ochako, Shoji, Todoroki and most of them getting almost the same storybeats. Like Shoto fighting Chimera applying flashfire principle to ice is pretty similar to him fighting Toya with Phosphor
Bkg gets the main character treatment over Dk and has these extreme crowd-service scenes like the soloing of Mummy while his squad does literally nothing
Deku gives up OFA to get the win - actually this I don't mind. In the movie imho it's done better than in the manga where that whole "smash the lid" plot was borderline incoherent
The movie's "AM and vestiges wish OFA back onto Deku" and the manga's "AM and Class A make a suit for Deku" are again basically the same kind of storybeat. Deku has no agency in these decisions.
So I think in the end, yes you are right that HK was probably milked by WSJ and his editor basically was there to enable any kind of thing he wanted to do - but I think the ending both in Heroes Rising and in the manga reflects HK's own concept of where he wanted to take this story as far as main storybeats go.
I'm just a librarian ✿
Tumblr media
Steven Grant/Marc Spector x Fem!Reader
Summary: You work in a library in the middle of London, you get paid well and you love your little reading space surrounded by books that rise to the highest ceiling. But one day your normality will be turned upside down when a guy comes looking for some books on Egyptian history.
A/N: Ok first of all I must say that this idea arose from a little dream I had (and I also wanted to use the image from the movie The Mummy, I mean, just look at her, she is beautiful, she looks like Belle) second, I don't know if this will have more parts the truth is I'm not good at making long stories because then I leave them unfinished or I run out of ideas so, yes, I'm building this as I go along, sorry.
Part 2
Tumblr media
And here I am once again, sitting behind the counter where you could see an old green lamp, a couple of books stacked one on top of the other, a typewriter and a little badge where you could read my name. With my legs crossed I moved my airborne foot rhythmically back and forth following a silent melody while my face rested lazily on my hand. My view was always directed towards the large windows that were near the line where the roof began. They were in the shape of a half circle and had a nice drawing similar to a stained glass window through which the sunlight passed in a warm way.
I loved being around libraries just for the sake of being a bookworm. I could spend hours reading old books sitting in a comfortable chair enjoying the silence without realizing it. But it was kind of boring to sit and wait for people to arrive so that you could help them with whatever they needed. I had already finished arranging the books with the help of the ladder, I loved doing it, it was fun to slide from one side to the other, it was almost like skating.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize someone had entered the library until they were in front of me so I gave a little jump in my seat.
"Oh so sorry! did I scare you? It wasn't my intention"
The person who addressed me was a very polite and kind middle-aged man, he had an innocent look in those pretty dark eyes he had. He was wearing a jean jacket and underneath was a white shirt, he was also wearing khaki pants and had a brown shoulder strap on one side.
"Don't worry, It's okay, I was just thinking, can I help you with something?"
I could not stop seeing his eyes, his look gave off a peculiar innocence glow, I could sense a genuinely beautiful aura like that of a child
"Well, yes. I was looking for books on Egyptian history, you know, gods and pharaohs, myths, pyramids, etc."
Every time he spoke his face would light up with enthusiasm, it was admirable to see
"Sure, we have several. Follow me please"- I said while my smile deepened
I led him through the aisles looking for the "Ancient Egypt" section by the gigantic shelves. The man meekly followed me like a lap dog without taking his eyes off me as he clung to his backpack. When we had reached the section, I took out 4 books, stacking them one on top of the other and numbering them as I handed them over to him.
" "History of Egypt", "Gods and mythologies", "Encyclopedia of the pyramids" and "The 10 most famous figures of ancient Egypt" And remember to return everything within 15 days "
I piled the books in the arms of that man who tried with effort to hold them since they were quite large and hardcover while I raised a finger and recited the prayer from memory. Even though the books were about to fall out of his hands, the man looked from the books to me with a beaming smile.
"Of course, yes, miss, I will do so. Thank you very much for your help"
I smiled generously at the man's good manners and walked him to my desk to finish the paperwork. I sat as the middle-aged man patiently watched me with his books in his arms like a child waiting for his Christmas present.
"Ok, I will give you a paper with the exact date where you must return the books along with our address, I would only need to know your name to write it down please"- I looked at him expectantly
"Steven Grant, Steven with a V"
I couldn't help but laugh at the clarification as if I didn't know how to write his name
"I clarify it just in case. A lot of people always misspell it, sometimes they call me Stephen. But surely you wrote it well, you seem to have nice handwriting hehe"
Steven giggled nervously as I smirked in amusement. What a singular man that Steven was
"No problem, what a nice name you have"- I smiled warmly
Steven got more nervous and his face begins to take on a cute reddish color as he stuttered and mumbled a thank you.
"By the way, my name is Y/n"
I told him, pointing with a fingernail to my badge that was resting on the desk. He looked at it for a while and smiled
"Now I won't forget"
And with one free hand he gave me a childish wave as he uttered a sweet "Laters gators" and headed for the exit. With one elbow on the table and my hand resting on my cheek, I watched him until he disappeared through the door.
"Steven.."
I pronounced his name slowly delighting myself with the syllables, it was sweet as honey and resonant as a bell. I was wondering if I would see him around here more often. I sighed with a lopsided smile and went back to staring at the stained glass windows waiting for someone else to come and help them.
The days passed and I didn't hear from Steven, he hadn't returned the books within the agreed period and I was beginning to worry. He supposed that this man was a little distracted or had forgotten or was busy with something important, anyway it was very common for people not to return the books on time and to be a little late. My head was full of thoughts hoping nothing bad happened to Steven and hoping to see him again when someone stormed through the library entrance.
"I'm really sorry!! I got there as fast as I could, apparently I fell asleep and woke up in a place full of sand. I have a sleep disorder, I'm sorry"
Steven was talking fast, spitting out the words like a machine gun, he looked agitated and his hair was messy. And on his face you could see the nervousness and concern. I tried to reassure him
"Steven, Steven calm down, it's okay. I get it, you don't have to apologize."
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it hard trying to provide warmth and protection. Steven giggled nervously and his cheeks turned pink, it was adorable.
"Oh by the way, here are the books"
Steven took out of his bag the books in perfect condition that I had given him. At least he was a man of his word
"Thank you very much Steven, do you want any other books?"
"Well actually yes, if it's not a bother, wouldn't you have one that talks about the moon god Khonsu?"-he said something nervous
I laughed in amusement
"Of course! We have many books on Egyptian gods, take the ones you want"-I said tenderly
Steven for some reason gave me a strange feeling, a maternal need to protect him, he looked so helpless at times. I can't even imagine how chaotic his life must be
"You know something? Why don't I buy you a coffee? I'll give you the new books and then we can hang out and chat, I have a break in 15 minutes."
Apparently Steven didn't expect that so he got even more red.
"I-Is it some kind of date?"
"If you want to see it that way, yes"
Steven smiled like a kid in a toy store and followed me back to the bookshelves. After giving him everything he needed, he waited for me at the entrance of the library like a true gentleman. I left my position in charge of my partner Selma who answered me with a grunt and left with Steven towards the nearest cafeteria.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
We sat at a table close to the street. The cafeteria was decorated with flowers and vines, it was my favorite, it made it look Parisian. We both ordered a simple latte and to eat I ordered a croissant with chocolate and he asked for a kind of vegan burrito, then he explained to me that he doesn't eat anything that comes from animals.
"Well Steven tell me something about yourself, do you have a job?"
"Yes, I'm working in a gift shop at the British Museum. But I would really love to be the one who makes the guides"
"Really? Amazing! who'd say? You are a museum and history enthusiast and I am a bookworm willing to provide you with all the information you want."
We both laughed happily forgetting what was happening around us. Steven's laugh was like sweet nectar to my ears that made all my worries disappear. Except for one that was still on my mind
"Wait a second, how come you woke up in a place full of sand? Where exactly?"
"I have no idea, I wish I knew. But it's not the first time it's happened to me, one day I woke up on top of Everest"
Steven started laughing downplaying it and I laughed too but with less enthusiasm. I was worried about him.
"Well I think I should go back to my work, thanks for everything I really needed to talk to someone and distract myself"
I looked at Steven tenderly, thinking that I was probably the only person he could talk to broke my heart.
"Anytime Steven. Anyway, I also have to go back to work, the time flies by when you talk"
I left a tip on the table and was about to go to the library when Steven stopped me with a question.
"Would you like to visit me one day at the museum? It's that I always visit you...-"
"I'd love to"
We said goodbye with a smile as if we were lifelong friends and each one went their own way to continue with their work on that beautiful afternoon in London.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Sorry if it was boring and there wasn't much interaction with Steven but this is just the first part of the story
anyway I am going to spoil everyone's fun. The Mummy is a racist movie, it's frustrating that it's popular and no one discusses that, and let me explain why
Whitewashing/brownface/self orientalism. The Carnahan's are meant to be mixed race. Their actors are white. Oded Fehr is white and a significant portion of his career has been playing exotic brown people in media made for white people, specifically while weaponizing the ethnic ambiguity he does have. Imhotep is white- insult to injury, his actor is an Afrikaner! Playing a pre-colonial African character! The only Egyptians played by people who arent white are the sex pest warden, Dr. Bey (also a minor character who dies), and Anck-su-namun. None of their actors are Egyptian.
The portrayal of Egyptian men. The warden and Jonathan are both portrayed as pathetic, weak, morally circumspect, and the warden is a pervert. Imhotep is also a pervert, frankly. The Egyptian public at large- mostly male crowds and male workers- are literally canon fodder and senselessly killed on multiple occasions. They're turned into mindless zombies, with no consideration given to what happens to them afterwards. Did hundreds of people just die? In public? The only two Egyptian men that aren't utterly horrible are Evie's boss, Dr. Bey, and Ardeth.
The portrayal of Egyptian women. The only two we actually hear speak is Evie and Anck-su-namun, both of whom have orientalist tropes applied to them- Evie, when they make her dress "local", and Anck-su-namun with the whole titlating "the pharaoh has me walk around naked and covered in wet body paint so no one can touch me without him knowing" nonsense- similar tropes are applied to Ardeth, frankly, with how his tattoos are portrayed, his ethnic background, etc. They specifically chose tattoos a Western audience would still find sexy (which aren't based on the actual local tattooing traditions). Face veils in early 20th century Egypt didn't really look like that, even the ones you might call flirty, and I find portrayals that make Ancient Egyptian society's overall often greater comfort with bared skin into titillation for the audience pretty offensive, especially as there are currently existing cultures in Africa viewed through lenses like that. It's not merely ahistorical, it's apart of a broader issue with how living people are viewed by others.
This is more of a me thing, other Egyptians may not agree: I think mummies as a horror trope are racist. The key fear to mummy movies is that white people might get punished for disturbing the graves of the honored dead. You are asked to identify with literal colonizers and view the local population as antagonistic (past and present in this case), especially in this movie, which is set before England started pretending it wasn't controlling Egypt (and by the damn way, ask ANY Egyptian when the country got independence and we'll say 1956. Between 22 and 56, England still had explicit control over some of the government, notably foreign relations and military, it used this an excuse to justify control of Sudan, and it was militarily occupying the country, especially the Suez area. When King Farouk tried to make a decision they didn't like, they put his palace under seige. That is not independence. Whoever made the 1922 declaration the first result on Google is manufacturing apologia for imperialism).
Lily can't keep her own "Sympathetic" Villains rules Straight: Anthony Gramuglia edition
See Crim's edition for the rules and outlines. Here we go.
Tumblr media
Lily's Response to Ant:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lily's probably going to get a significantly worse score on this one because me and Ant I think have similar media diets. We begin:
1. In the book, 100% he is THE villain. The movie not as much. Still though, I think movie Hammond more than fit's Lily's criteria. -1 life found a way
2. We already went over this (yes I am still writing p.3 of my Magneto post.) -1 Anthro cow delivering your children
3. Kyubey's keeping the universe from ending Lily. How could you get closer to having a point than that? -1 timeline
4. See Crim's post. He does fail #2. Again though, by Lily's original parameters this was a valid entry. But I have to give her the point. +1 spider gets it's legs ripped off
5. I bet she thought this was clever. -1 gate keeper.
6.N/A
7. I don't even know what she's talking about here. -1
8. Del Toro sends his regards. -1 Nerdy fish man.
9. LILY HASN'T SEEN THE BROADWAY SMASH HIT PLANET OF THE APES THE MUSICAL, STARRING TROY MCCLURE!? For shame! -1 (has anyone else watched that movie recently? I'm not saying it's aged poorly, but like, it is profoundly unintentionally hilarious, watching it in the modern day. I know this was like, the whole thing back then-- leading men who were too cool for school, but Taylor is such a fucking asshole. Cornelius is the real hero of the film, and everyone bullies him for not matching their lunatic energy. #justiceforCornelius #GeorgeTaylorisoverparty)
10. N/A (Trekkies don't try me.)
11. N/a
12. N/A (I mean I feel like I've probably seen the whole Mummy franchise just through memes at this point but. Lily's reasoning here is fucking asinine though-- as per usually Ant us uniquely getting her goat.)
13. This is actually the first example that breaks rule #3. Sorry fam I love Elfen Lied too, but it's a bit of a hot mess. +1 dead puppy
14. Scar is a dead ringer to Lily's criteria. She straight up just didn't have a pot to piss in, so she just wrote "no." -1 Dwarf in a flask
15. For the record, my boomer mom has seen Ghost in the Shell. The movie anyway. -1 body on loan
16. I watched this as a kid but can't really remember anything about it, so, I gotta put it as N/A.
17. This might actually be the first time I've seen anyone else memtion this movie . . . But still. -1 burnt wheelchair
18. Not plus ultra. -1 for all
19. Oh fuck off Lily. Glass houses. -1 jutsu
20. Sai, Crim and Ant spoke pretty extensively about this one. -1 angry hair raise
21. This one too. -1 demon pig
22. Yes she is. -1 dad
23. See Crim's list. -1 Prisoner 24601
24. N/A
25. Read ANY book, Lily. -1 absent godly parent.
26. I've only read the first one. N/A
27. Lily's reason here is bullshit but I haven't seen Columbo either. N/A
28. Why not Lily? -1 Jimbo
29. YES SHE FUCKING IS LILY. Just because in a modern context her story is a lot more tragic doesn't mean she isn't intended to be a villain. Lily made up the rule "has a point," but if they have an iron clad one she just declares them not a villain. -1 head
30. OBJECTION! NOW YOU REMEMBER VILLAIN AND ANTAGONIST ARENT TRUE SYNONYMS FOR EACH OTHER!? -1 Lily if you could just ONCE try to engage with a media discussion honestly.
31. N/A. I'll get around to watching it.
32. Not in Dracula Untold. -1 Damn Luke Evans looks like he was cloned from Orlando Bloom. I can't tell those two apart.
33. DIFFERENT DRACULAS. HOLY SHIT. -1 Lily this rational is so piss poor it's embarrassing. Even for you.
34. N/A
35. Isn't he in Kingdom Hearts? -1 Ah Ha Ha Ha
36. Another non-surprise. -1 traveler on his way home.
37. I haven't played enough Kurby to know why Meta Knight is a sympathetic villain. N/A
38. I've played enough to know Lily's right on this one. +1 Deddeddeedeeededededeeedede
39. A) several characters on both Crim and Ants' lists have been protagonists. B) IT'S FUCKING COMMON POPCULTURE KNOWLEDGE DONKEY KONG WAS THE ANTAGONIST IN THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF BOTH MARIO AND DK. -1 Lily I'm fucking shocked you don't know this. Genuinely. That's saying something, considering it's you.
40. Solid Lily continues to be the worst one. -1 LIQUIDDDDDDDD
41. Yes she is. Her point is the magic is what keeps her fucking family safe. -1 gift
42. You'd probably like this movie actually, Lily. Not the book, but. Or maybe not, there's no incest lesbians I guess. -1 sexy tree
43. I'm going to give Lily the point to maintain consistency that mind-manipulation doesn't count as "a point." Before he put on the crown he's not really even an antagonist, so. He IS an example of a sympathetic villain, however. +1
44. THERE ARE OTHER ANIMALS ON THIS LIST. Another one who's spot on, so she can't figure out how to even pretend to argue against it. -1 Beauty who killed the beast
45. GODZILLA ISN'T LITERALLY A NUKE. -1 pop culture jokes don't substitute proper media analysis
46. The Kaiju Lily. Her name is the title of the film. It's not Ant's fault You're too lazy to Google shit. -1 Viking Relic
(Biollante would have been my personal pick for sympathetic Kaiju. And her dad. She would have broken Lily's first rule since she's probably not aware of exactly what's happened to her, but. Her father at least fits Lily's criteria. A lot of the Kaiju are sympathetic though.)
47. This is a perfect example as to why Lily's rules are ridiculous. John Kramer is, in my opinion, outrageously unjustified in what he does. He follows her rules though. Having a bad point is still having a point. How "well written" he is wildly different depending on the movie, but because he's at least well written sometimes I'm counting him. -1 foot
48. You haven't read Paradise Lost Lily. I know you haven't. -1 Satan crying for everything he's lost
49. God Lily I wish you'd actually read something for once because this is an even better example as to why your rules are a joke. -1 Facist Worm King
50. This is a specific example. -1 tears, it's a waist of good suffering.
LILY'S FINAL SCORE: 19/50
38% - F
Got wrong: 24
Got right: 2
Removing the ones I haven't seen:
19/39
48% - F
Removing the ones Lily hasn't seen:
15/37
40% - F
Removing the ones we both haven't seen:
2/26
7% - F
Halloween is coming up! Who do you think would be the type to do couples costumes and what do you think they'd dress as?
Anon! Halloween is coming up indeed. And this is a very good question, considering we get to see boys going through Halloween every year… well, kind of sort of. Of course, technically, we’ve only seen them wearing one proper Halloween costume, and even then it was pretty much one costume per dorm, but that first ever Halloween event was very helpful in showing the boys’ attitude towards costumes and Halloween in general.
Now who would wear couples costumes… for some reason this part of your ask is much easier to answer than the second part lol But I’ll do my best and share my thoughts!
Thank you for your ask.
Ace and Deuce would do accidental couple’s costumes. They would work on their costumes separately, being very excited about Halloween and all, and then somehow they’ll end up matching perfectly lol They would be so weirdly embarrassed and a little bit pissed about it. Even though they would be dressed as Batman and Joker or something (maybe something less mainstream than that but), their roommates would call them Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
Trey wouldn’t necessarily do it right now, but he probably has a vision for his future when he and his partner (Riddle…) would feed trick-or-treating kids with homemade candy (some of the candies are yucky as a little prank!) while wearing couples costumes. His would probably be unapologetically cheesy and/or punny, maybe a little cringy. I feel like Trey is the type to do a “I’m a toothbrush, he is a toothpaste” type of shit lol It’s Trey’s dream, let him have fun in his head…
Kalim spent his entire life wanting to do a costume with Jamil! And if they were to start dating (or just sleeping together, or anything of this sort), Kalim would insist so stubbornly that Jamil won’t have a choice. “I can’t wear the same Halloween outfit as the Asim’s heir” doesn’t work anymore, and Kalim could even throw a little tantrum… anyways, they’ll end up doing couples costume! It would also probably be a very cheesy idea, but overly luxurious execution. Like ghosts, but the white sheet is bedazzled with Swarovski crystals. Well, with Jamil’s help, they could come up with something cooler. Like a doctor/scientist and his project, or a serial killer and his victim, or a tomb raider and a pharaoh’s mummy, or a king and a jester… somehow, Jamil always comes up with costumes with a very distinct and troubling power dynamics lol
Rook and Vil would absolutely do it, but they would also probably drag Epel into their little play, as they always do lol Not every single time though, so sometimes Epel gets to be the tiniest Jason Voorhees in the world. Meanwhile, Vil’s and Rook’s costumes are either a reference to a type of media that is kind of obscure for mainstream audience but very iconic for them (something more obscure than Beetlejuice and Phantom of the Opera, but less obscure than John Waters movies…), or very intricately done “original character” (idk how to call it) costumes: similar to their canon Vampire ones. Don’t ever doubt that these two came up with an entire lore for their characters while they were working on costumes. It’s never just some exorcist and some imp. It’s never just some investigator and some rich widow. There is always a story, and you don’t always want to know it lol Also, I feel like saying something about Morticia and Gomez is a must, but knowing how much Vil loves to overthink things, he’ll feel like these two are too obvious of a choice.
Ortho and Idia ABSOLUTELY do couple’s costumes! They’ve been doing it for their entire lives, and these days Idia is kind of anxious that Ortho will get bored of it one day and want to do couples costumes with someone else :( But Ortho wouldn’t! It’s super important for these two, and he loves doing it! They start planning their Halloween costumes very early, and always work on them together. I think the absolute majority of their Halloween costumes are either straight-up cosplay of their favourite horror characters, or their own take on some other characters. But Idia wouldn’t be Idia if he didn’t flex his design and craft skills, so whatever they end up doing, it looks so incredibly impressive… We’ve seen what he can do with his Pumpkin Knight costume with the sound effects and all. Like, these two would recreate a scene from Uzumaki with their costumes somehow. You wouldn’t even know what you’re looking at at first.
I also think Lilia would like to do a couple’s cosplay with Idia if they were dating… Maybe he would watch Idia and Ortho work on their costumes and feel like he kind of wants to have this much fun as well! But his costume with Idia wouldn’t be as complex, and he would probably go with something cute and silly and maybe a little bit provocative. For some reason it’s very easy for me to imagine Lilia going with a choir boy costume and making Idia dress like a priest lol Or a doctor with a nurse, or something like that.
Ironically, if he was to wear couple’s costume with Silver or Malleus, I think he would pick something else for himself. Something cute, but something less provocative~
Mystictober Day 19-- Healing
SE Saeran reflects on his healing journey on a visit to your favorite museum (788 words).
A year ago, Saeran would never have been able to do anything like this. It would surely have upset him too much to be confined on all sides in this kind of space— a museum would only have reminded him of his guilt, the marble floors too similar to Magenta’s and the old photographs on the walls too similar to V’s. But he’s made strides with his therapist since then, and he’s excited to be joining you for an afternoon alone together at your favorite place.
“I love big buildings like this,” you admit, “Especially if the lighting is bad.”
“That’s a joke,” Saeran observes, not laughing. Sometimes, the strange things you say are funny to him. Other times, not so much. Either way, he won’t lie to you about how he feels.
“No, I really like places like this,” you assure him, fiddling with your wristband. “Is yours too tight? I haven’t been here in a while. Last time I went, they were doing ticket stubs, not wristbands. I didn't know they were gonna give us these, honestly, otherwise I would’ve—”
“It’s fine,” says Saeran, because it is. True, the pressure on his wrists isn’t something he’s experienced since he wore stacked leather bracelets as Unknown, but he’s easily able to separate this experience from that one. He’d be hard-pressed to convince himself that he’s back at Magenta when you’re here by his side, and it’s difficult to believe that he’s a monster when you’re so gleefully walking in step with him.
“Okay.” You grab two maps, one for yourself and one for Saeran. It’s these simple gestures in consideration of his autonomy which make it clear to Saeran exactly how safe he is with you. It’s not just that you look out for him, it’s that you do it without thinking. “Where to first? My favorite is the Ancient Egyptian wing— there’s no live mummies there, unfortunately, but they have a couple masks, some statues, and one pretty cool coffin.”
“Maybe another time,” Saeran is okay hearing the word ‘coffin,’ but having never seen one in person, he’s not sure how he’d respond. “Sorry. And aren’t mummies dead? So there wouldn’t be live mummies.”
“For now,” you reply with mock solemnity.
Saeran can’t help but snort at that while he studies the map. “What’s this furniture collection?”
“Oh,” you nod, “Yeah, that’s with the Korean art. Basically, a bunch of antique cabinets and stuff. A lot of them are really interesting because they’re made with persimmon wood, so the grain naturally makes super cool patterns. If you like dark wood, you’ll love it.”
Saeran wrinkles his nose. “I don’t think about wood colors.”
“What?” you grin, “Saeyoung explicitly told me that he was giving you culture. He didn’t say anything about interior design?” You’re joking, of course. If Saeyoung had said anything about interior design, he probably would’ve launched into such lectures as How Much Checkerboard Print is Too Much Checkerboard Print? (Trick Question) and The Artful Placement of Chip Dust, Crumbs, and Decommissioned Traffic Lights.
Saeran smirks. “He made me watch those superhero movies.”
“Oh,” you seem to consider this. “Did you like them?”
Saeran shrugs. “I don’t think so.”
“Okay, good. Correct opinion,” you nod solemnly, in yet another attempt to make Saeran laugh. “I’m just kidding. I don’t care what kinds of movies other people watch. Or what their interior design preferences are— although, last time I came over, your brother had clothes all over the floor, and he told me they were decorative, which I do take issue with.” When you try so hard, you can be a little bit awkward, but Saeran doesn’t mind. He enjoys your company.
“Hm,” Saeran confirms his understanding. “I got rid of those.”
You snort, but elect not to take the subject any further. “Well, anyway, here’s my plan, and you can take it or leave it,” you pivot, “I say we come through here and look at the furniture and whatever else you want to see, then we loop through the rest of the museum like this.” You trace your finger across the map, showing a path through blocks of color, presumably representing different exhibits. “And then if we come back again, we could do the south wing, since we probably won’t have time to see that part today. Thoughts?"
“Okay,” says Saeran. He trusts you, after all. “Let’s go,” he decides, reaching for your hand. It’s a good day for him, and he’s feeling comfortable with that level of contact.
“Let’s go,” you agree, accepting his hand and leading him into the museum. Saeran can’t believe how easy and natural all of this feels. He really has come a long way since leaving Magenta.
