The water was an impenetrable dark blue where he looked upon the waves. Foam brushed against the once royal blue wood of the ship. Now, the colour was chipped and weathered from many a journey. It was lonely on deck, still he stood proud, his hair fluttering in the wind. Slowly, he stretched out his hand toward the ocean, unflinching as his frostbitten fingers complained.

This night was calmer than any night before. All he could remember was excitement. A little boy jumping on board a leaving ship, a young man – Captain for the first time – stealing a ship of the crown. And yet, in this solitude his heart beat fast.

He had first met her in a dream; saw her tugging him away from eternal light, felt her gentle touch and her sharp nails.

The songs she had sung him still rang in his heart.

She had brought him ashore and followed him since.

There was a ripple in the waves. He fixed his posture and the ocean bore him her angelic complexion. Shakily, he exhaled. She was far more beautiful than any dream could render her.

Droplets flew like crystals as she shook herself dry. Then, she met his nervous gaze and her eyes pierced him right through his chest. Her smile was stunning.

“Silvio,” she called out in that lovely sing-song of her voice. “You look so pretty.”

He blushed and hoped she did not see it in the dark. But her eyes were sharp and the amused twinkle in her eyes told him as much.

“You look heavenly.” He stumbled forward when his ears caught her giggle.

“Heavenly? Do pirates know that word?”

He shrugged sheepishly. “I do.”

At that, her gaze softened. “You look better,” she swam forward. “But thin. Are you still not eating well?”

“´ve lost my appetite.”

“Oh,” confused, she laid her head to the side. Just the way Old Lady used to when he was young. He closed his eyes, willing the image of his old Dalmatian from his mind. Those times were long gone.

“But don't worry yer pretty little head, yeah? I'll eat well soon enough.”

“Whatever do you mean?”

He chuckled. He knew she enjoyed this game, though he was unsure if that childlike entertainment made her believe that he was not in on it as well.

He longed to know the taste of her salt-tanged lips.

“How is your crew?”

“Ah, ´m sending them off soon. They're old enough to deal with ´t all by themselves.”

“But you love them.” Her tone was surprised.

“Aye. But with that growing tension… I don't know if I really wanna continue, you know sweetheart?”

“So, where will you go?” Bubbles followed the sentence and he watched her retreat further into the sea. He grinned. Sweet thing was pouting.

“Thought I'd settle down on that island you brought me to that time we met. Gotta stay with my girl, don´t I?”

At that, she almost flung herself out of the water.

“Really?”

“Course,” He leaned over the railing. “After all, you're my woman, aren't you?”

She nodded, shy.

“Yeah you are.” His eyes were lidded as he rested his arms on the railing. “Wanna sing me a song, sweet thing?”

A bright smile spread across her lips and that alone made all the years of pain and hardship in his life worth it.

Mmmmm Silvio rant time- because bday-

Fuck I love this man- his story is so good to like- wtf-

He starts out as a total price of shit, a snobbish bitch who is literally everything we hate about capitalism. First impression makes me think of Daughter of Evil and the princess in that song. That's the impression that the king wants Silvio to give off and what he has of Silvio (a spoiled brat who is just an asshole but good at buisness).

But that's what he was groomed into becoming by his parents. Going trough his story we get a bit of a better picture of Silvio, the actual one. He is very kind and believes in people, doing what he can to make them succeed in life(what he does with thr baker and what he tried to do with Rio). He is stubborn as all fucking hell and dosent really open up about his feelings easily. He is loyal to a fault, his loyalty may at first appear to be to his father, but the fact that he insults and belittles him at every opportunity shows otherwise. His true loyalty is to the people of Bennonite, their futures, to Rio, and eventually Emma if his route is chosen.

The first thing we see of Silvio is him haveing pushed a woman away after sex and then drinking. He drinks, alot. It may be a cultural thing, but I think it's also a repression thing. He is addicted to alcohol and sex to hide any bit of weakness.

His distain towards women is a clear factor that his parents put a very negative perception of women into his head. Basically every negative thing he has said about women, that's his father talking about his mother. Or him talking about his mother.

Now- for the Dalmation symbolism. I think the princes chose their crest around the age of 12 so that their personality has mainly formed and whatnot. So, Silvio choseing Dalmation works well (and I think makes his bond with Rio all the better because Rio also chose a dog).

For the physical symbolism, Dalmatians have a white coat with black spots on it. This shows Silvio is good at heart but has been trough and done bad things. That won't go away, but he is still a good person all the same.

Dalmations (like alot of dogs) were bred for hunting. So Silvio being sent out to do the trades, being the Bennonite representative, etc. Is his father putting him to use and sending him out for the hunt foe whatever reason he has that time. (To hopefully get him killed too)

Intelligence, loyalty, courage, determination, strength, and adaptability. Those are all things dalmations are known for and very easily apply to Silvio aswell.

This man is very intelligent, I mean, he is a merchant. I would pur him just below Gilbert and Chealver when it comes to intelligence. It probably wasn't ingrained into him, but he picked up differnt things while doing the kings errands.

I already did loyalty-

Determination... ❤️. Anyways- that determination is heavily linked towards his stubbornness. In his Romantic route, he comes up with a plan to make a four way alliance between the kingdoms. The king ends up pissed, but he knew that, he knew the conciquences and did it anyways. He dosent wish for those he travels with to end up dead. That's his number one rule. Don't. Die.

Courage is also quite the thing, I mean, he does often backtalk the king. Even gets the courage to go trough with his betrayal towards his father because of the change of loyalties.

Strength is probably not his strongest suit. But he is still very strong. He isn't apart of the military, but he has been able to fight off pirates and multiple of them at once. He could probably bring Gilbert out into a draw in a physical fight. But he isn't the strongest emotionally. He hides what he actually feels, pretends that he dosent care about the ones he cherishes the most, dosent cry when he needs to. He can't do it. But he can do it for things that will show in the long term, he wants to help Rio become what he sees as strong, so that he won't have to be hurt. He helps Emma be able to express herself freely instead of being happy 24/7. He supports those who wouldn't have the money to chase their dreams.

Adaptability is a strong suit for him. He may also lose out to Gilbert in this area, but that dosent matter. He adapts quickly into the situation with Emma since Gilbert was the one to figure out first she was Belle, so one less job for him to do. He proposes a tight deal on the first draft and makes extra so that Obsidian would agree aswell over the original plan. Makes sure that the two people he cares about the most is away from the shithead of a king.

All in all, Silvio is a good boyo and I love him alot-

if mc's love language was acts of service that must throw silvio for such a loop. like you try to get this lady to serve you when you first meet and she HATES your guts because of it, but once you get closer and start to really care about each other, then she starts talking care of things for him. she starts organizing his documents and cleaning up little messes around the place and making sure he's drinking and eating enough. she wakes up early in the morning to make sure everything is in order for him that day. she attends to his needs because she loves him, not because she's fearing being exposed or because she fears him. she wants his life to be easier.

I used the picrew you mentioned and well damn, it is pretty much perfect. This is my Luce, just trying to enjoy New Year’s Eve, covered in gold jewelry, wearing a golden dress and shining more than the mirror ball. Then Sam. And Dante. Now Violence is the only answer.

I also wondered if Papa Greco officially sanctioned the events of said New Years. There may be a soured relationship yes, but kidnap and torture (possibly) seems likely a declaration of war. I don’t like Papa Greco (how he just slapped Carmen in front of everyone 🖕) but I would hope he’s a little more reasonable. Maybe he said, (some random thing) , and Dante took it to mean kidnap and torture because he’s himself.

So you will find out more of what happened to make luce’s night become a nightmare in chapter 2. But yea, it was sanctioned by Dante’s father. Yes it is war and Luce just became a very important person

Although I think Silvio just said “take Luce” and then “make them talk.” He never said anything about killing everyone there 😭 that’s all Dante he’s so extraaaa I mean who waits right at midnight on new years??? He wanted to be extravagant
