Smoke and Ashes by Amitav Ghosh: Probably the third time I’ve ranted about this book in a tag/ask game rip. I started this book in May last year and I STILL haven’t finished it yet 😭😭😭

Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones: WEREWOLF WEREWOLF WEREWOLF. I have it on good authority that this book is 11/10 and I can’t wait to get into more of Jones’s work (My Heart is a Chainsaw was such a standout of this year)

You Dreamed of Empires by Álvaro Enrigue: any book that gets @the-everqueen raving to this degree is an automatic 👀👀👀👀👀👀

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Garcia-Moreno: I read Certain Dark Things by the same author this year and loved it, so I’m eager to dive into more of her work!!

The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez: Still on a huge vampire kick and me and a friend are gonna read this book together! I should get started on it today…

Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah: it sounds like a great fantasy adventure! It is the first in a trilogy and I haven’t committed to reading a series in a hot minute, but hopefully I’ll like this one enough to see it through the end! Speaking of series—

The World We Make by N.K. Jemisin: I read the first book in this duology last year and I really enjoyed it, but never got around to reading the sequel. I want to do that this year!

Things We Lost in the Fire by Mariana Enriquez: I read one of her other collections, The Dangers of Smoking in Bed, and I heard this one is even better, so I’m excited to check it out. Short stories aren’t generally my thing but I’m really liking Enriquez’s.

Organ Meats by K Ming Chang: it sounds so nasty and visceral. I hope it’ll be right up my alley!

was raised in huntsville since she was a little girl left by the age of 17 when her dad took a new job with better pay, ultimately making the entire family pack up and move to an entirely new state. the move resulted in xander and lola having to break up as they thought long distance wasn’t going to work for them and agreed to stay friends but because she moved only a few months before the paradox hit when all she got was radio silence from her friends she assumed the break up wasn’t as mutual as she thought.

she’d started going to college by the age of 19 and moved into the dorms there because it was a university out of state from her parents. after graduating she moved back to be closer to her parents and found a job fairly quickly and was able to easily sustain herself.

she’d always wondered what happens to her old friends from high school and how she just never heard from them again so one day the curiosity got the better of her and she decided to plan a trip there.

lola’s parents know she’s back in huntsville because she told them that’s where she was going, the trip was to maybe find closure in what happened but also to see the place she grew up in again. she’s only been back for less than a month and took up a role of gatherer because handing her a gun is a recipe for disaster she does not know what a safety is please do not ever give her one.

assistant wasn’t close to what she’d done outside of town but it was a lot more of a calming pace and thought if she could get something like that for a while then she was gonna take it.

77 years ago, in Barcelona, a girl in a rich family was born in the mid 40s, daughter of lawyers, and her name was Emmanuela Beltrán Rahola.

She never felt like that world of bourgeoisie was made for here, but when she was in college she found a theater and decided to take those classes clandestinely. But obviously Mister. Beltrán and Miss Rahola found out, and they got mad, because she wasn't becoming a lawyer like them, she left college and her dad told her to change her surname, and she did it, her new surname was the same as one of her relatives that was expelled from Spain.

In May 68th, exact year when she debuted as an actress in the film 'Tuset Street' by the name of Emma Silvia, decided to go to París to live the revolution of May 68th, being one of the few Spanish actors that was part of it, she got arrested, and her mom threatened her saying: 'If you don't come back I'll die'. Did Emma came back? Yes, but not to Barcelona, she decided to move to Madrid.

In where she met Fernando Fernan Gomez, who became her husband in 2000, they got married in a hospital, sadly their marriage only lasted 7 years after Fernando died in 11/11/2007.

Emma died in July 11th of 2016 because of cancer in Madrid

in an attempt to adjust to the situation and the weird feeling of having no clue what her life had looked like the first 29 years of her life, mabel instantly found her escape in the form of art when she woke up in london a couple of weeks ago

When Mabel was a child, her parents told her her father had to move out for work. She visited him at his new place, where they did puzzles together, using tricks to make them more of a challenge. Mabel became frustrated when her father began breaking promises to her. Unbeknownst to Mabel, her father had stomach cancer. When he ended up in the hospital, Mabel visited him and lay in his bed with him.

Mabel grew up in Bayport, Long Island, where she lived with her mother Silvia Mora, who was a single mother after the death of Mabel's father. She would spend every school break at the Arconia with her wealthy aunt Salma Ramirez, who lived in apartment 12E.

In 2002 or 2003, while spending time at the Arconia, Mabel met Tim Kono in the building's inner courtyard when she was drawing at the fountain, interrupting Tim's game. Tim became interested in a book Mabel was reading, The Missing Chums from The Hardy Boys series. The two eventually became good friends, and would reunite every school break when Mabel visited the Arconia to read The Hardy Boys book series and pretend they were the Hardy Boys, solving mysteries they would make up around Tim's apartment for years. At some point, Mabel and Tim met Oscar Torres and Zoe Cassidy. Oscar, whose dad is the Arconia's superintendent, copied his dad's key so the Hardy Boys could break into any apartment while the owners were out of town. Although Zoe and her family lived on the entire 11th floor of the Arconia, she would steal things of value whenever the Hardy Boys broke into an apartment.

After her friend Tim Kono was murdered she teamed up with her neighbors Charles Haden-Savage (a once famous actor) and Oliver Putnam (a struggling theater director) to do a podcast on the murder in their building.

I never really liked Vilde in OG SKAM, but Amber in WTfock is not really of my favorites either. I like Daphné just fine in SKAM France, Silvia in SKAM Italia is okay, Viri in SKAM España gets on my nerves SO MUCH, Engel in SKAM NL is fine, but really Kiki in Druck is the best Vilde out there !
