long live | daniel ricciardo
Tumblr media
pairing: daniel ricciardo x driver!reader (epilogue to fragile line)
long live the walls we crashed through i had the time of my life with you long, long live the walls we crashed through how the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
time passes and feelings may fade, but the memories never will word count: 7.7k (im so sorry) warnings/tags: time jumps like always, angst and heartbreak but it's not all sad this time, or is it?
Tumblr media
four years later
“Daniel Ricciardo, 2025 Formula 1 World Champion, The Honey Badger,” James Hinchcliffe put his arm around the fellow commentator, “Tell us what you know.”
“What I know, Hinch,” Daniel repeated, taking a dramatic look up towards the clear sky. “What do I know?”
They didn’t need to act like they were friends for the camera, James and Daniel had grown close in a short time, ever since Daniel put down the helmet and picked up a microphone, Replacing the racing overalls with a suit and tie. He had the personality to be a motorsports commentator. No one was surprised when he was announced as Sky Sports newest reporter following his Formula 1 retirement.
And James, a fellow retired driver himself from the IndyCar side, a Canadian with the humour and the banter that could keep up with Daniel, they were truly one of the best duos when it came to motorsports broadcasting.
They weren't often together, though. Daniel stuck to Formula 1. James was a regular for IndyCar. There were only a handful of races where they came together and the Indianapolis 500 was one of them.
They were a comedic duo last year at the 2026 running, it only made sense to bring Daniel back again this year.
“Who’s your money on?” James asked. The question was innocent enough, proposed to most people who didn’t have an association with any team.
Daniel had his answer. Before the race weekend started he had an answer. Before the season started he had an answer.
But he hesitated.
Or, maybe froze was a better word. Daniel froze when he dropped his gaze from the sky and looked further down the pit lane. They didn’t plan on standing a few slots away from the number 6 car of Arrow McLaren, but that's where they found themselves.
Daniel froze when he spotted the familiar face sitting on the bench in the pit wall, looking at the data on the screens and nodding along with the engineer as he spoke. Daniel froze, because even though he knew exactly who was driving that car, he still wasn’t prepared for what he would do when he saw the driver.
When he saw you.
You guys had agreed, long ago, that there would be no more interactions. That your careers, your lives, would be better if the other stayed as far away as possible.
Daniel knew that even now, four years later, he had no right to talk to you, to talk about you. He knew that at this point, it was for the best that ties were still cut, that the conversations didn’t happen. It had been over a year since your last interaction, he was in no position to change that.
And he tried, desperately, over the years to follow the rules you agreed on. You as well kept your distance, you had to.
But you were only human. There had been a few slip ups over the years.
For the remainder of the season, after the Austin race, you both had stuck to your word. You stopped giving the world the moments they were waiting for. You refused to interact with each other, you forced yourself to stop caring.
It grew easier with time. The 2024 season was challenging in itself, but with Max and Daniel fighting amongst each other in a league of their own, you knew you couldn’t fight them in a McLaren. All you could do was make the most of what you had.
Lando and you had a strong opening those first few races. McLaren was third in the constructors for a short time until other teams started to catch up, filling in the holes of their designs.
You quite literally didn’t have time to care about Daniel when you were so focused on the rest of the grid, your actual competition. Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston Martin even. Your upgrades were no match with theirs and by the end of the season, it was disappointing to look back without a podium to reminisce on. Lando scored two, one in Spa, the other in Singapore. You did well, but not well enough to bring home a trophy.
2025 was…different.
In many ways. Firstly, the McLarens showed consistency as the season continued. You and Lando were always top contenders for points.
Secondly, Daniel was giving Max a run for his money. He had a bit the year prior, but this season was far more competitive. You, like everyone else, was dying to see who would pull through and score that first place trophy at the end of the day, but you had to hide your desires for it to be Daniel.
You still hadn’t spoken. You had successfully veered away from any accidental interactions. His name stayed out of your mouth and at this point, everyone on the grid knew there was a disconnect. You both had gone out of your way, this year and in 2024, to assure there would be no media appearances together, no driver conferences, nothing that the online world could twist.
But you couldn’t do anything about still being happy for him. That would never go away. You would always want Daniel to succeed. You just couldn’t be watching the screens when he podiumed. You couldn’t go out with him and the others to celebrate. You couldn’t wish him a congrats in passing like Lando could if you were walking down the paddock.
Daniel felt the same. While the love was gone, there was nothing he could do about those proud moments. He wanted you to make a name in this sport, to make history. He wanted you to be someone and even though he once wanted to be at your side while you planted your roots, he couldn’t.
Except that one time when he physically was at your side.
There was a mistake in the media pen scheduling on that Thursday in Miami. From what you knew, Daniel was supposed to be in the press conference and you’d be one of the ten unlucky few that had to stand under the Miami sun in the football field, talking about how you were looking forward to this race when in reality you personally thought this was the worst race on the calendar.
But it was too hot to complain about anything other than the heat and how you needed to change shirts as soon as the media pen segment was over because the breathable material of your papaya polo was anything but breathable.
You had barely stepped into the roped off circle to join the other drivers when you heard your name being called. Glancing over your shoulder, it took a second to realise that the call was coming from a young girl running in your direction. Her paddock lanyard flailing over her shoulder as she sprinted, one hand held onto her McLaren hat so it wouldn’t fall off.
“She can’t be here-”
“Piss off, she’s fine,” you weren’t even sure who you interrupted, but you didn’t give the risk of a reprending a second thought as you stepped forward to meet the young fan.
She was small, and you weren’t a professional when it came to guessing the ages of kids but you would put her somewhere in the range of six and eight. Maybe?
You knelt down to be more at eye level, “Hi darling, what’s your name?”
“Cara,” she answered, slightly out of breath. There was a gap in her teeth from where she must have just lost one, but it didn’t affect her grin at all.
“Hi Cara,” you smiled at her, only then noticing she wore a shirt with your last name on it. Glancing over your shoulder, you saw an older gentleman running towards her. “Is that your dad?”
Cara looked and then nodded, but she didn’t care that she had completely abandoned him and given him a heart attack. “I saw you last year here. You finished fifth, my dad took me to watch. He says you- he says that you’re the only girl driver.”
“I am the only girl driver,” you confirmed, pouting slightly. You brushed your hand over her shoulder to smooth out the material of the shirt, “That should change soon, don’t you think? All of these boys need to be put in their place and I can’t do it alone.”
“I can join,” Cara suggested. The carefree optimism was a rare sight at one of these race weekends, but you admired it in Cara. She was too young to know the difficulties of being a female in this field and hopefully by the time she grew up, there were less walls for her to climb over, just doors to open.
“You can join,” you nodded at the idea, laughing slightly, mostly because her dad had caught up to her and he was more out of breath than she saw. You smiled at him but looked back at Cara, “Do you race?”
“Yes!”
“No,” her dad answered, putting a hand on her shoulder. “Not yet, at least. We’ve signed her up for karting this summer, we’ll see how it goes.”
“I can already tell you’ll be a natural,” you told Cara. Watching her face light up was probably the most rewarding feeling you’d get all weekend.
“I want to be like you. I want to win races, I want to win a championship!”
“You know what Cara, I can’t break every record, being the first girl driver. So I’ll save the championship one for you, how about that? I want to see you become the first girl to win the championship.” You gave her arm a squeeze and then stood up, turning your focus to her dad.
He wasn’t wearing a wedding ring and although you couldn’t make assumptions that he was single, the greying hair at a fairly young age and the bags under his eyes told you that he was mostly likely the main caretaker for Cara.
“She’s got dreams,” you said.
He nodded, but smiled proudly, “That she does.”
You didn’t want to speak negatively about this industry in front of Cara, you didn’t want to crush her dreams, but you also didn't want her to grow up and be hopelessly disappointed either.
“It’s not easy for girls in this sport,” you told him. “But if she’s serious, if both of you are, look into working with Mary from Victory Speedway, located out in Tampa. She’s got contacts with F1 Academy as well. They’re goal is to make it easier.”
“Thank you,” he nodded, holding out his hand to shake. “And thank you for talking with Cara. Both of us are big fans, you truly are inspiring.”
You chatted for a bit longer, ignoring Oliver who was at your side reminding you that you had media duties. They could wait. A photo with the girl that seemed to be your biggest fan and maybe one day your predecessor, couldn’t wait.
No one really heard what you spoke about, the other drivers had their own obligations in the media pen.
Daniel, though, he listened.
He was standing right near the entrance when Cara had run up. He had watched you bend down to chat with her, making her a priority opposed to the reporters. He was less than two feet away as he overheard your conversation and when you turned around, ready to get the media day over with, you met his eyes.
For the first time in a long time, you didn’t look away.
Daniel wanted to tell you he admired that conversation, the hope you installed in the young fan. He wanted to tell you that you made a great role model, for not just girls but all aspiring drivers. He wanted to say a lot of things to you.
He settled on a question, “You’re not trying to win the championship?”
This was the first time you had spoken in months and it wasn’t even in private. It was quite literally in front of cameras, reporters, people with audio recording devices and microphones. You opened your mouth slightly only to lock up, giving him an apologetic look because you both knew better than to be having any sort of interaction.
You turned to face the first reporter, ignoring Daniel’s question completely. He just nodded to himself and walked to his own spot, keeping you in the corner of his eye.
This young reporter, though, was also curious, having overheard what Daniel asked.
“You’re not vying for a championship? Does Zak Brown know this?” He asked with a soft chuckle.
You shrugged and gave him a smile, “I mean, every driver's dream is the championship, but it’s not my goal currently. Your goals can, and should, be different than your dreams. And yes, Zak knows this, don’t you worry.”
“Your goal then, what is it?”
You inhaled, thinking to yourself for a second, “I’ve got a few and I have a good team supporting me while I work towards them. First would be to make as much history as I can, set as many records while I have a spot in Formula 1 and then I want to help other female drivers break them.”
“You want your records to be broken?”
“If it means getting more females into Formula 1, then yes.”
Daniel, who was in the middle of trying to listen to the reporter in front of him, smiled as he heard that. It was a very you response. He leaned forward, gripping the railing a bit because he completely misheard his own question and needed him to repeat it.
“And your other goal?” The young reporter asked you.
Your lips curved into more of a devious smile, deciding to keep that one close to your chest. “Do you have any questions about the race this weekend? Or are you trying to write a biography on my life?”
Daniel was dying to know what it was too. He spent the rest of that media session racking through the memories of you, there were a lot, trying to think if you ever had that conversation. You must have, right? So why couldn’t he remember?
When all of you made your way out and back to the paddock, Daniel ignored the voice in his head telling him to just let it go. He completely drowned it out as he jogged up to your side, refraining from reaching out and brushing his hand over your elbow to grab your attention. Instead he just said,
“Hey.”
You glanced up, instinctively stepping to the side as you walked to put more space between your bodies.
“Hi,” you breathed out, pulling your eyes off of him and on the Red Bull motorhome that was coming up. This conversation would be short, he’d have to go back inside. You’d be fine for ten seconds, right?
“So what-” he cleared his throat. This shouldn’t have been awkward but it was. After so long of not even glancing at each other, there were new lines painted between you. Daniel didn’t know how to navigate them, and honestly, neither did you.
“Triple Crown, Dan,” you answered, knowing that's where he was going when he opened his mouth.
The Triple Crown. Monaco. Indy 500. 24 Hours of Le Mans.
He took a second to process that goal, not having expected it in the slightest. When he nodded, you could see the hurt in his eyes, only there was less pain and more distance. He didn’t know you like he thought he did.
“I never knew you were aiming for the Triple Crown.”
“You never asked.”
He had trained you, helped you become the best athlete you could be. He had introduced you to the right people. He acted as a mentor, but the conversations you had about racing were limited. There was a lack of communication in that sense because why bring work home with you?
But that was the wedge driven between you. Had you talked about racing, contracts, your futures, you would have never found yourself in that McLaren contract scandal that ultimately broke you two up.
He nodded, because what else could he say to that? You gave him a soft smile and told yourself to keep walking, to move to the other side of the paddock as Daniel headed into the Red Bull motorhome.
You don’t interact again until Monaco. Daniel now knew winning this race meant more to you than others. Winning this would be one third of the Triple Crown checked off and as much as he was gunning for the podium, thankful for his P2 starting position, he saw that you were starting fourth and took a breath of relief. You had a shot.
Daniel wasn’t sure what came over him when he saw you in the paddock after qualifying. Maybe it was because you not completely shutting him down in Miami gave him a strange surge of confidence to approach you again, or maybe it was because he was ignoring all the voices in his head to just keep walking. Whatever it was, Daniel saw you chatting with a member of Sky Sports and as he walked passed, patted your shoulder in a congratulatory manner.
You paused whatever it was you were saying and turned in his direction, just in time to see him give you a smile and a thumbs up as he continued on his way. You returned it, but that small interaction had you stumbling over your words for the next two hours.
Not because you were smitten, you were past that. You didn’t look at Daniel anymore and lose your train of thought, you didn’t get lost in a daze and allow everything else to fade around you.
But he didn’t seem to let go of you completely yet, and you could work with that. You could be civil. You could be neutral during race weekends, as long as it didn’t go further than the friendly smiles and minimal chats.
It shouldn’t have been hard to keep the conversations short, you hadn’t actually had anything meaningful to say to each other in over a year. When you ran into him after the race on Sunday, after he claimed the title of Monaco Grand Prix race winner for a second time, you should have just said congratulations and kept walking.
But Daniel saw you as he was propped up against the side of the Red Bull motorhome and then he stood up straighter, almost inviting you to walk up to him. There were no cameras around anymore, the majority of the paddock had gone home so you felt safer, sort of. If the world hadn’t lost their minds at the clip of him patting your back yesterday, you could talk to him now.
The Red Bull engineer he was with said his goodbyes and smiled politely at you as you approached, stopping at a safe distance.
“Another Monaco win under your belt.”
“So it seems,” Daniel tried his best to not look too proud of himself. You could see his dimples poking through. You wanted him to not be holding back, you missed his grin but gone were the days when he didn’t have to refrain with you.
“You deserve it,” you nodded, glancing over your shoulder out of habit. You were scared of any stragglers with iPhones, but no one around seemed to care that you and Daniel were talking. You were drivers, it shouldn’t have been a strange sight.
“You deserve it,” Daniel playfully shot back. “I mean, I couldn’t just hand it over this year though, despite your Triple Crown goal.”
“Oh but next year? You’ll let me have it then?” You asked, eyebrows raised. It was a joke, a small tease, but Daniel’s smile slipped and you caught it. You caught it and you stepped forward, hand flinching because it would be moments like this where you’d want to reach for him but you couldn’t do that anymore, could you?
Daniel tensed. Now it was his turn to look anxiously around, “I might not-” a sharp inhale passed through his lips, “Yeah I might not be here next year.”
You scoffed because that idea was preposterous, “Oh shut up.”
“No it’s true,” Daniel said, but his smile told you that he wasn’t sad about it. “You know how your goal is the Triple Crown?”
“Yes.”
“Mine’s the championship, sweets.”
You weren’t given an opportunity to react to the nickname because he continued on explaining without missing a beat. Either he didn’t see the way saying sweets affected you or he didn’t even notice he said it because even after all this time, it still came naturally to him.
“There’s a clause in my contract,” he said. “If I win the championship this year, we can renegotiate. I can leave, I can- I can retire. The way I want to.”
You didn’t know how to process this.
Daniel belonged in Formula 1. He fought so hard for his seat, he was a mess when he was left without one and now there was a chance he’d be gone?
And even though you were only eight races in, already he was leading the driver standings over Max, not by much, but he was. There was a strong possibility Daniel could take the championship home at the end of the season.
You couldn’t say what was on your mind. You couldn’t say, selfishly, I hope you lose the championship. You couldn’t say that it was impossible to imagine the paddock without him because even those few months when he wasn’t racing, he was still there.
“We’ve still got a few months to go,” Daniel’s voice broke you from your thoughts, trying to move to a brighter note because that’s just who he was. “But this could be good for you. You’ll have a real shot at winning Monaco next year. But I mean- you technically already won Monaco.”
“That was F2.”
“I think it still counts.”
“I think I’ll win it again, just to be safe.”
Daniel liked that response, he liked how confident you were that the win was coming. He nodded and he really would have liked to talk to you more about this, about his potential leave, about your success, but when he was called from across the paddock you didn’t hesitate before saying goodbye. The conversation was long enough.
Things seemed lighter between you after that.
You didn’t stop yourself from being visibly happy when he was doing well. You laughed if you overheard the stupid shit he said in the paddock. You didn’t make a big deal about it when you two were signed up for the same press conference session. Granted, you still sat on complete opposite ends of the couch, but you sat there with a smile because you liked hearing Daniel talk about the lead he still carried in the standings.
Spa was the turning point for you two.
While you hadn’t taken any more steps beyond paddock conversations and friendly interactions, what was Daniel supposed to do when you both ended up on the podium together? Him on top, claiming first, you right next to him on the second step?
You both held back when you climbed out of the cars. He opted for a friendly pat on the back even though he wanted nothing more than to bring you in for an embrace. You had podiumed once already this season, but not with Daniel. You stood between the two Mercedes drivers back in Austria but now you were there, with Daniel at your side, both of you beaming.
You were proud of yourselves. You were proud of each other.
Both of you had dreamt of this moment, standing next to each other on the podium. You still remembered that conversation years ago, trying to imagine what it would be like to hear the cheers for both of you.
‘You’ll have to do a shoey.’
‘Only if you win. I’m not doing one if I win.’
You had shared this dream when you were in love and even though that wasn’t the case anymore, the dream was still very much alive. Because of that, it almost didn’t feel right.
It felt sort of unfulfilling, despite you being handed a heavy trophy.
But this was a moment that you would remember for the rest of your life. All of your accomplishments were held very close to your heart but this one meant more than you could put into words.
Hands shaking, crowd going wild, you were on top of the world and you were standing next to the man you used to be in love with. You glanced to the side to watch him, not able to stop yourself from smiling wide and then wider still as he held his head high like a hero.
Daniel was larger than life.
He always would be.
You tried not to let yourself think that this might be the only chance you’d get to stand here with him. This win only pushed him further ahead in the championship and you were, seemingly, the only one who knew this year would be his last if he ended up winning.
You had to hold onto this moment. It wouldn’t come again.
To everyone watching at home, this was the start of a new age with you and Daniel. Fans could see the way you two interacted, the sheer joy you had for each other, something they hadn’t seen since you still raced in F2.
To you, this was the beginning of the end.
Finally, you and Daniel were getting to a place where things could be good and in a few short months, he’d be gone.
You couldn’t think about it more, not when you felt champagne being sprayed in your direction. You were late to the game and popped yours after Daniel and Max had, but you still joined in with the celebration.
You laughed when Daniel took his shoe off and poured some of the bubbly liquid into the sole. He laughed when you refused to drink it, both of you ignoring the fact that if you were still in love, if you were still together, you would have done the shoey with him.
Daniel was content with the nod. He knew you were happy for him, the same way he was happy for you. But neither of you could show it the way you wanted to.
The championship win was decided at the second last race of the season, Qatar.
You didn’t have a good weekend, and you knew this. You took responsibility for the poor qualifying, the bad performance, for all of it. But you were distracted, unable to keep yourself from thinking about Daniel because if he won this race, he won it all.
And then he’d walk away.
You were conflicted. You wanted to see Daniel take home the win but selfishly, you wanted him in Formula 1. You always wanted him in Formula 1.
So when he crossed that line, ahead of Max, ahead of the rest of the grid, when he did celebratory donuts and stood on the podium with his chin held high, you stood on the sidelines and ignored how you used to wish for a day like this, wished for a day where he would be crowned the Championship Winner.
Daniel Ricciardo. 2025 Formula 1 World Champion.
It had a nice ring to it.
That’s what you told him that night when you were out at dinner and saw him sitting with a few members from his team just a few feet away. You weren’t surprised to see him at the establishment, it was exclusive, it was way overpriced and it was where many drivers went prior to going out and partying.
You avoided his eyes that evening, scared that if you’d meet them you’d be forced to accept the reality that he really was leaving. At least, you know, if you didn’t look at him, you could live in your own little world where he wasn’t gone just yet.
You were genuinely annoyed when you bumped into him after leaving the toilets. The hall was dim, narrow and there was quite literally nowhere for you to go when he turned the corner and stopped walking when he saw you.
“Hi,” you swallowed, anxiously smoothing out the skirt you wore, even more anxiously trying to avoid his eyes.
“Hi,” Daniel slid his hands into his pockets. His Enchante shirt clung to his skin due to the heat, but you told yourself you weren’t allowed to look at the way his little curls stuck to his forehead.
“You, um-” you held your hand out. “Congratulations, really. Daniel Ricciardo. 2025 Formula 1 World Champion. It’s got a nice ring to it.”
He laughed and nodded along, “Yeah, yeah, thank you.”
When he leaned against the wall, you realised you were stuck. There was no getting out of this conversation. No escaping this reality.
It didn’t help that the rest of the dining room faded behind him. The people, the sounds, the light, it was just Daniel.
Just Daniel and just you.
How it always should have been.
How it would never be again.
You opened your mouth, intent on saying something else about his win but all that came out was a shaky breath and a choked back sob that triggered the tears you didn’t even know were building. It was quiet, but it was desperate and it was painful and Daniel didn’t hesitate before stepping forward and wrapping his arms around you, pulling you into his chest. Your cries were muffled against his shirt and Daniel stroked your back and then your hair, holding you tight against him.
You were happy for him, really. If anyone deserved this win, it was him but god you were devastated because up until now, you didn’t realise you still held this much love for him. Up until now, you didn’t realise that even after everything, you still needed him.
You needed him.
“What am I going to do without you on the grid?” You asked, your voice was already quiet but it was even more so muffled as you spoke directly into his body.
Daniel chuckled, it vibrated through his chest. “What you’ve been doing this whole time, sweets. You’ll make history. You’ll put the rest of the guys in their places. You’ll be the driver I know you to be.”
It took a few seconds, maybe a few minutes actually, of just standing there and crying into his chest until you snapped out of it. You weren’t dating anymore, your conversations now didn’t last longer than five minutes, it was embarrassing to be losing it in front of him, because of him.
You stepped back and wiped your eyes, “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t- I just-”
“I’ll miss you too, Y/N,” he breathed out.
You nodded, because if you tried to say anything else you would be crying again. Daniel held his finger up and walked into the toilets to grab some tissue for you. It took another minute for you to be able to trust your voice again.
“I can’t believe you’re really leaving,” you dabbed at your cheeks, knowing you’d have to go back to the hotel to fix your make up before going out again.
“I’ve got things lined up,” Daniel shrugged.
“Care to share?”
He tried to hide his smile and failed miserably, “Just don’t be surprised if I show up at the track next year with a microphone instead of a helmet.”
That was about as much he would say as his deal with Sky Sports wasn’t yet official.
But now you felt more like an idiot for crying about him leaving if he wasn’t even actually leaving. You’d still see him. He’d still be around. You could work with that.
Daniel could still be proud of your accomplishments, even if he was on the sidelines.
He was, however, a little conflicted when you won the last race of the 2025 season.
You made history in Abu Dhabi. The first female driver to win a race. This was a wall you had spent years trying to crash through and now there you were. On top of the podium, on top of the world as confetti fell to the ground around you, champagne sprayed in all directions.
This was your moment.
Your win, your first win and all you wanted was Daniel up on that podium with you. As happy as you were to celebrate with Max and George, you couldn’t deny something was missing.
Because you really could never cut yourself off from Daniel completely, could you? You could try, you could attempt to distance yourself, you could stop the interactions and you could tell yourself you didn’t care but you were right that day you told Lando that Daniel was your missing piece.
So it made sense that you were at a bit of a loss for words when he showed up at your hotel room that next morning.
You invited him in, despite being slightly hungover. He didn’t care that your clothes were spread all throughout the room, but he did smile at the sight of your trophy on proud display on the table before you had to give it to your engineer for safe travels.
“So this is it,” you sighed, sitting down on the far side of the couch. Daniel sat down as well, the opposite side, arm stretched along the back of it.
“This is it,” he agreed.
“When does the news drop?”
He clicked his tongue, “Tomorrow.”
“Who’s replacing you?”
“Not sure,” he scratched the stubble along his jaw. “My guess is Lawson or possibly Palou.”
You sat in silence for a while, thankful that it wasn’t uncomfortable because it easily could have been.
But you both grew this season.
You could both admit now, being in love and being drivers was an unattainable dream.
But you could be drivers and you could still have love for each other.
You reached across the couch, a gentle smirk playing on your lips as you nudged his arm, “So what are you going to say about me?”
Daniel dipped his head back and laughed, “What do you mean?”
“You know,” you shrugged. “Like when you talk about us drivers on Sky Sports. What are you going to say about me?”
“I’m going to say that not only did you steal my seat, but you stole the glory of my last race by winning.”
You rolled your eyes, recognizing the sarcasm but you were thankful his words weren’t malicious anymore, “I thought we were past this. I didn’t steal your seat, Dan.”
“No, but I don’t think I can joke about it on air so this is my last chance.”
You reached behind you and grabbed one of the throw pillows, smacking it against his chest. You chose to look at this playfully, instead of it as the inevitable end.
And Daniel needed a second to think about your question anyway, so the joke was just a way to stall. Honestly, he was a little surprised that he hadn’t already thought about it considering you were on his mind more than you should have been.
He cleared his throat and adjusted himself on the couch cushion. You could see that he was struggling to come up with a good response and you didn’t mean for this. You didn’t want him to think he had to choose his words carefully.
“Hey,” you whispered, shifting closer to him, “Promise me something.”
You met his eyes, his dark brown eyes that once had such a strong hold over you. You looked at him and remembered why you fell in love with him in the first place. In this moment, it was hard to remember why you ever wanted to stop loving him.
Had you stopped loving him? Did that day really come?
You could have love for someone and not be in love with him anymore, but you didn’t think you’d find yourself in a position where you had to differentiate between the two. You thought, you knew, you would always be in love with Daniel that to sit here and think that maybe, possibly, you didn’t anymore, felt like a betrayal.
He was supposed to be the one that stood by you through it all. The good, the bad, the wins, the losses. It wasn’t supposed to end with you two sitting on the couch and admitting that this truly was over.
It wasn’t supposed to end like this, but you always knew it would.
Fate stepped in and whether you liked it or not, it was forcing you into a goodbye, into an acceptance that your lives would no longer be intertwined, that you couldn’t go back to the way things were.
“Anything,” Daniel spoke softly. Maybe one day he would have said, I’d promise you the world, if you asked, but that seemed a little too forward for the moment.
“Be honest, Dan,” you told him, your hand finding his over the edge of the couch. Your thumb brushed against his fingers and both of you fought the urge to just connect them further. “Tell them my name, but tell them how I got to Formula 1. Tell them it was you, that you helped me pave the way, that you helped me make a name in this sport. Don’t just point to the pictures of me, point to the ones of us. Now that you’re done with racing, I don’t care about the assumptions, the rumours, any of it. Tell people how it really was you and I, how we were the team that should have been, that never was, please,  because even though I know-”
You paused, taking a second to swallow the lump at the back of your throat. You glanced at your hand and maybe it was you or maybe it was him, but your fingers started to interlock. Your eyes stayed glued to the touch as your last admittance filled the air between you.
“I know I could have made it to Formula 1 without you, but I can’t put into words how thankful I am that I didn’t have to.”
Daniel nodded, because he agreed with you. He knew you could have gotten here without him but he too was grateful he was by your side for the start of it. He agreed that you two really were the team that never was but should have been. He nodded and agreed that he would say all of those things.
But you knew that he wouldn’t.
Those words were for him, not the rest of the world.
He would tell people that you shined on top of the podium. He would say that the crowds went wild, louder for you than any other driver.
And he would never say that he had any part of shaping your career. Despite you knowing he did, despite the whole world knowing he played a detrimental part, Daniel didn’t hold onto those connections when you went on to race in 2026 and he stood in the commentators box.
He stayed neutral, surprisingly.
It helped that he didn’t interact with many drivers or if he did, it was never you. He did talk about you, but only about your performance on the track. His colleagues knew not to bring up your past, not when the only thing that mattered was how well you were doing in the present.
He had some thoughts when you announced you were making the switch to IndyCar at the end of this season, but mostly because you made that announcement before the Monaco Grand Prix, before you claimed the win you were chasing, before you could check off one third of the Triple Crown.
He wanted to pull you aside and question why you were making this choice but he couldn’t. He also couldn’t call you out publicly on air like other reporters had.
All he could do was hold his breath after you qualified P2 in Monaco. He sat on the edge of his seat, struggling to do his job, struggling to commentate on the race because the second you made the move to overtake Max and it worked, Daniel had to leave the room.
He had to leave because he knew that if you kept the lead, if you won, he couldn’t celebrate the way he wanted to with cameras on him. Instead, he watched from the privacy of a separate media suite. The broadcast was a few seconds delayed but at least he was able to cheer and be visibly proud of you and not have to hold back when you crossed the line ahead of Max.
You won the Monaco Grand Prix, in a McLaren of all cars, and now he knew what you were gunning for next.
The Indy 500.
Signing that Arrow McLaren deal ended up being the right move after all.
“Who’s your money on?” James Hinchcliffe asked him as they stood on the pit lane where the teams were preparing for the greatest spectacle in racing. The question was innocent enough, proposed to most people who didn’t have an association with any team.
Daniel had his answer. Before the race weekend started he had an answer. Before the season started, he had an answer. Despite knowing you were still far from winning the Indy 500, his money would always be on you.
You looked up from where you sat on the Arrow McLaren bench and you smiled at him.
You were having a pretty good season, for a rookie. With O’Ward and Rossi as your teammates, you knew you couldn’t compare, but they were good people to have on your team, in your corner. They helped you, guided you through the shift from Formula 1 to Indy and you could be proud that in a grid of 26 drivers, you were 11th in the standings.
“Not betting on anyone, James,” Daniel answered, but his eyes were still locked on you and his smirk said otherwise. “It’ll be a good race.”
He could say your name, he wanted to. But Daniel stayed as far away from your life as he could because you decided on it a long time ago and nothing that happened since told him that you’d be going back on that decision, that you wanted him back in your life.
He might not have been a driver anymore, but you still were. So he was content with being civil, neutral. He was fine with the friendly smiles and if an old photo of the two of you circulated every now and again, well, he didn’t hate it.
He sat with the rest of the Indy commentators during the race. He shared his honest opinions throughout and he, along with the other reporters, praised Alexander Rossi for taking home his second Indy 500 victory, eleven years after his first.
But that was not the Arrow McLaren driver he wished was celebrating in Victory Lane.
Daniel waited until his job was done, but he knew he had to find you before the day ended. He wanted to congratulate you on finishing twelfth. That was something he was proud of and he hoped you were as well.
It would only go up from there. The Indy 500 was still an achievable goal.
He found you in the paddock. It wasn’t hard. You stood out, even in the crowd of people. He waited off to the side and watched you take photos with young girls, young fans that resembled that one girl in Miami, all of them looking up to you and thanking you for paving the way for them, for other females in motorsport.
It was by chance that you looked over your shoulder and saw Daniel standing there. He nodded, wordlessly assuring you that he could wait, to take your time with the fans.
He ended up waiting almost fifteen minutes.
Eventually, you started to approach him. Daniel stood up straighter, having been leaning against the Penske trailers until you were done. You still had your racing overalls on, but unzipped and hanging loosely on your hips. The black fireproofs under the papaya looked good on you, but Daniel hadn’t let himself appreciate your appearance for years, he couldn’t start now, even if he really wanted to.
“Hey,” you called out when you were only a few steps away.
“Hey yourself,” Daniel chuckled. When you finally stood in front of him, he was sort of expecting to see a sliver of defeat, but you were happy. You may not have won the 500, but you had a good run and there was always next year. Plus, you still had the rest of the season to finish. The season wasn’t over, you could still make history in this sport.
You crossed your arms over your chest and glanced around, jaw clenched until you finally worked up the courage to meet his eyes.
“So,” you inhaled a breath. “You’ve got some time on your hands now that you’re retired, right?”
Daniel wasn’t sure where this was going but he laughed and nodded, “Somewhat, yes, but I do still work race weekends.”
“But Monday through Wednesday?”
He pondered it for a second, just for dramatic effect. “I’m fairly open.”
You nodded, hoping for that answer.
If you were being honest with yourself, this was a conversation you wanted to have with Daniel since he announced his retirement almost two years ago, you just never knew what the outcome would be.
You felt a bit safer now, knowing that he was based out of the UK and your races were only North American. If he hated where you were going with this, well, it was rare you’d be crossing paths so soon afterwards.
You just had to blurt it out.
“Ever thought about being a trainer?” You asked. “Or a manager? Mentor even? You know- my last mentor walked out on me-”
Daniel cut you off with a booming laugh, “Walked out? Really? Is that what you tell people?”
Him playing along with your humour felt like a weight off your shoulders, “Only if they ask.”
Daniel, finally, didn’t have to refrain himself anymore. He felt confident enough to drape his arm over your shoulders and walk with you down the paddock. For once, he didn’t care if people looked or recorded and secretly, he hoped they did.
All he wanted was to be at your side. All he wanted was for the world to know he was proud of you, that, if you asked, he’d be back in your corner.
And you were asking.
“So you need a mentor?” He repeated. “A trainer?”
Your hand slipped around his waist. It was natural, comforting, right.
“Well, I need to win the 500 eventually and then I need to get into Le Mans. I can’t do it alone.”
Daniel looked at you, wearing that stupid grin you missed so much even if you had memorised it the first day you met. You missed him, despite hearing his voice on the broadcasts and seeing him in the paddock. You missed him, he was your missing piece after all.
Daniel looked at you, and you knew, you weren’t alone.

So, here's the thing. You look at this home and think you'll be getting a nice 6bd, 7ba, 1924 English Tudor in Indianapolis, IN for $2M. But, it's been updated by the owner/seller, so decisions were made. And, they're not necessarily what you would expect or want.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you're looking for rich, traditional Tudor wood, it's there, but they painted it black. The floors aren't original, they've been replaced by modern light wood.
Tumblr media
You know the beautiful wood walls in Tudors? Well, these are painted white. What made them do this?
Tumblr media
The living room is completely modern with mirrored furniture and leather sofas. If a buyer wants a modern home, he can easily buy one, so why would you have to do this to a Tudor?
Tumblr media
OMG, they painted the traditional cement stone fireplace black.
Tumblr media
Remember yesterday's Tudor? This is how it's supposed to look- grand and castle-like. But, more importantly, this color. (And, the rich wainscoting is not painted white.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently, to make a modern open concept kitchen with a family room, there wasn't enough space, even when they knocked down a wall, so they squeezed a dining table in on the side, and a few chairs in front of the kitchen. Okay, I love the shell chandies, even though they're not Tudor style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just from watching the finicky buyers on "House Hunters," they're going to say that this kitchen is small.
Tumblr media
Bad faux finish to make the pantry look old.
Tumblr media
They place another smaller dining table here and blocked the door to the garden.
Tumblr media
And, here's another dining area.
Tumblr media
Okay, the small powder room isn't too bad. I like the wallpaper and they left the original medicine chest.
Tumblr media
All the wood is black. This makes me feel so bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The primary bd. is gray and the fireplace has been redone.
Tumblr media
Renovated en-suite.
Tumblr media
Walk-in closet and dressing room has a desk and drink fridge.
Tumblr media
The upstairs landing. It's nice, but I couldn't say I lived in a Tudor.
Tumblr media
A game room with arches all painted an off-white.
Tumblr media
One of the other bedrooms- the wainscoting painted white.
Tumblr media
Renovated bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the finished attic in gray scale.
Tumblr media
A powder room up here.
Tumblr media
.92 acre lot. It's a beautiful home, it's just not an English Tudor, anymore.

Mack! tyyyyyy <3 enjoy ya fluff
6. "Sorry, it's just that I get very nervous when someone else is driving."
Steve hadn't truly thought things through when he agreed to drive Eddie to Indianapolis to pick up his replacement guitar that weekend. If he was honest with himself he'd gotten distracted making goo-goo eyes at Eddie when he had started talking, only really picking up "drive" "me" and "weekend" and Steve wasn't going to pass up an opportunity for more time with the metalhead.
Originally when he'd realised what he had agreed to it didn't seem that bad, he'd taken trips to Indy before, maybe he and Eddie could get lunch at a diner somewhere in the city together, maybe Steve could pretend it was a date. Steve had even looked forward to their adventure into the city as they started their journey. What Steve hadn't counted on was the owner of the music store going on lunch break right before they arrived and not returned for three hours, at least Steve got his little diner lunch.
The problem now was that Steve was exhausted, having planned on being back at Hawkins by nightfall they now weren't leaving the city until the sun had started to set. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue but Steve had pulled two doubles in the last couple of days knowing he couldn't work this weekend. They were barely out of the city when he started to yawn.
"You alright Stevie?"
"Hmm? Oh yeah, Eds I'm fine just a bit tired don't worry."
"Do you want me to drive? I don't mind."
Steve didn't want to say yes but his eyes were heavy and the two hour journey ahead of him seemed like an eternity.
"Ok, but just for a little bit, really I'm not that tired."
"Whatever you say, sweetheart," Eddie said as they pulled over to swap seats.
Steve bit his lip as they began driving again, depite his exhaustion his anxiety was now making him side awake. It didn't take Eddie long to notice.
"Are you ok there, Stevie? You're gripping that door pretty hard."
Steve glanced down to see how white his knuckles hard turned on the edge of the door.
"Sorry, it's just that I get very nervous when someone else is driving."
Eddie smiled softly, "Ever the babysitter, how about you hold my hand, angel, I'll make sure nothing bad happens."
If Steve had been of sane mind maybe he'd have thought about how Eddie only having one hand on the wheel was decidedly less safe, but Eddie's fingers were wrapping themselves around his and Steve could feel how worn and warm they were. With a deep sigh he relaxed back into his chair.
Steve hadn't even noticed he had fallen asleep until they were home, comforted by the steady weight of Eddie's hand, the slight glide of Eddie's thumb along his knuckles, and the soft tunes on the radio.

wip wednesday 😈
from my next TIMT Universe ficlet 💙💛 can’t wait for y’all to read this one (may or may not be released on march 22nd)
warning for this excerpt: slightly sexual content. the ficlet itself will be rated E
Tumblr media
Will pinned my hands above my head and nuzzled his face into my neck, and I could feel his lips grazing my throat with light kisses. My breath hitched, and that must have done something to Will, because I heard something akin to a groan escape from his mouth and onto my skin, and suddenly the light kisses were replaced with harsh bites. Apparently, I’d fallen in love with a vampire. He moved down my neck and pushed my collar to the side, sucking a hickey onto my clavicle, but pulled away within a few seconds.
“Why’d you stop?” I whined, and Will kissed me on the lips to shut me up.
“I can’t get to you over this red monstrosity,” Will laughed, referring to my giant University of Indianapolis sweatshirt. I suddenly hated myself for wearing it. But how was I supposed to know that this was going to happen? I’d been prepared for straight-up rejection, and was shocked when Will ended up, at long last, reciprocating my feelings. That concept was still fucking wild to me. Although… It had only been approximately ten minutes since Will had kissed me for the first time. And I prayed to whatever higher deities existed that this would be the beginning of forever for us.
I pulled my sweatshirt over my head and shoved it off to the side, and a smile graced Will’s lips as he raked his eyes over my torso.
“Much better.”
He leaned down to kiss me again, this time gliding his calloused hands down to my hips, exploring under my floral print shirt and teasingly brushing the skin there. He tried to undo a few buttons, probably trying to take it slowly, but I, of course, decided that Will touching me was way more important than a fucking button-down shirt, so I quite literally ripped my shirt open, watching a few of the buttons fly across the room. Will’s eyes widened at my impatience, but he obviously didn’t hate it, because he helped me shuck the shirt off my shoulders before flopping his entire upper body onto my chest. I looked down at Will, who had his chin resting between my nonexistent pecs.
“That must be such a flattering angle to see me from,” I rolled my eyes. Will’s laugh rumbled directly onto my skin, and I felt shockwaves go through my whole body.
“You’re beautiful, Michael.”

Get High, Get Down
Eddie Munson was a year and a half out from surviving his trip into the Upside Down, and overall things couldn't be better. He'd been taking testosterone, loving up on Steve Harrington, and getting orgasms on the regular. So what's the problem?
Was it that he had a harder time crying, that he needed to eat twice as much as he used to, or that he was horny as often as he had his eyes open? No, surprisingly, and all of those things had cooled off a little in time. Was it that even looking at Steve got him hotter than the hood of the Beemer on a summer day? No, what are you crazy?
Actually, if you must know, it was that he couldn't fucking chill out long enough to take dick and that was pretty much the only thing he wanted to do at the moment.
*I wrote an incredibly horny homage to my own hangups being a transsexual man on T navigating sex -and using grass to do it. Pass by if that's not for you! Here's the first third, the full spicy thing is on AO3*
Link
Listen, the thing about being on testosterone, right, is that for the first couple years you're basically re-doing puberty all over again.
This was something Eddie'd been prepared for ever since he first got to talking to the guys in Indianapolis who'd been on hormones one way or another since the sixties and seventies. It had been a bit of a pipe dream for him given he couldn't see a way out of Hawkins long term, but he still wanted to learn what to expect and what to say to his doctor if he ever got that far.
Eddie knew he'd already got a bit of a boon, since Wayne let him shave his head and change his name after dear old dad got locked up when he was eleven. If it'd been anyone else, Eddie likely would've spent the seven years until he hit eighteen miserable and forced into a pretty pink box, whatever he had to say about it be damned. Certainly his mum's side didn't appreciate having a tranny in the family, but they were all assholes anyway and Eddie was happy to wreck any family gathering where his cousins 'she'd' him -and getting banned when he was fifteen was just a bonus. It's not as if Wayne cared.
But yeah, he moved to Hawkins and became Eddie Munson, and he grew into the freak the town knew him as partly because, well, that's who he was, but also to keep any rumours manageable. Who was going to care about him skipping out on gym when all the jocks spread around that he sucked dick behind the bleachers anyway? Who would notice his voice sometimes going high pitched when he was tired when he'd just finished ranting on a lunch table about forced conformity and bullshit American values? Not the idiots at Hawkins High, anyway.
And everyone was too busy trying to hunt him down and kill him to look into his records before moving in with Wayne -not that any survived the jumping around Al Munson did for the three years he went off the rails once mum died.
So it was a scare, really, when one Sam Owens shuffled into his hospital room a few weeks after everything went down with enough paperwork to put a cramp in Eddie's wrist and a quiet question about the reason his records didn't match his body. The guy pretty quickly backtracked when Eddie's heart monitor spiked through the roof, and reassured him he didn't mean any harm -far from it. He rambled on about proper treatment and government doctors and medical records for a bit, before Eddie cut him off and asked him to spell it out for him before he yelled for one of those said doctors to come and escort him out.
Well, turns out in the matter of replacing the few IDs him and Wayne had that were lost with half the trailer, it came up that the doctors who were overseeing him noticed he didn't exactly have a dick as claimed. Ok, Owens didn't say it like that, but you get the idea. So he was here to figure out what was going on, whether someone was massively messing up on their examination logs, and how to fix it in the quietest, smoothest way possible.
"Well I'm a guy, so jot that down," Eddie said, frankly exhausted, and luckily Owens seemed able to read the room.
Owens talked more about what he'd researched after speaking with Wayne and jumping to some conclusions, a group he'd called out of SanFran that had information on FTM experiences and the few medical advances for them in recent years, and it was all very interesting, really. Eddie didn't even feel weird about confirming it, though he'd never actually called himself transsexual out loud to anyone, and it was a little annoying how Owens nodded along as if he hadn't said anything noteworthy. He was wondering again what the point of it all was when Owens brought out a new folder, much slimmer, and pushed it towards Eddie with a funny little smile on his face.
And just like that, all Eddie's IDs said male on them, and he was set up on a testosterone prescription from an actual real life doctor and pharmacy -apparently natural guys got prescribed shots like that on the regular, who knew? Eddie hadn't ever thought he'd be able to get a doctor to sign off on it, let alone afford it, but all of The Party were being taken care of for the next five years at least, and got handouts besides, so he had time to figure it out.
As mentioned, this all meant that from the summer of 1986 through to New Year's Eve 1987, Eddie'd basically been putting himself through a second, much more wonky and unpredictable puberty. It had it's upsides. He didn't have to pay attention to keeping his voice low, he got a bit of bristly scruff as opposed to faking it with mascara, and even his muscles seemed to shift and sit differently. It was great and if Owens hadn't been part of such a shitty operation Eddie might've sent him a Christmas card over it, he was so thankful.
Of course, there were some drawbacks. He didn't cry as often, needed to eat twice as much, had to buy better deodorant and body wash, to name a few. Oh, and also, he was out of his mind horny with alarming consistency.
Eddie definitely didn't remember Jeff, Toby or Gareth complaining about this shit, although to be fair as a friend group they hadn't ever really talked crushes or embarrassing bodily functions much. He supposed he expected it to some degree, but it was kind of a lot and he didn't exactly have a threshold for normal FTM second puberty milestones here. He wasn't exactly complaining, mind you, because by virtue of gaining his little clit-dick, he was experiencing more orgasms in the average week than he used to give himself in a couple months. It was hard to complain about anything that made him feel that good with little to no drawbacks.
Well, no drawbacks now that he was approaching the two year mark and his libido was cooling off a smidge. No longer was he in danger of an ill-advisedly tight pair of jeans leading him to lock himself in the employee bathroom while on the clock so he could get himself off at lightning speed to work without being distracted -hypothetically, right, that was definitely just a completely made up scenario, one he for sure didn't have to worry about anymore. Again, having a dick was awesome.
So yes, he was horny on the regular. It had cooled off a bit, but he still comfortably got himself off around once a day, more if something set him off thinking dirty thoughts and he had the time to spare. That was preferable to any imagined, totally not even plausible bathroom incidents he definitely didn't need to think about. It would've even been manageable, truly, if not for one small, teeny, tiny, extra little facet of Eddie's journey going through all this after the shitshow that was March '86.
That being that he and one Steve Harrington -of the Loch Nora Harringtons, lately lapsed in residence to the house where Eddie had once sold his wares of grass and grog -were, as of late October, an item. Attached. Going steady. Courting one another in a manner of chaste companionship, if you will.
Was this what Eddie was complaining about? Absolutely not and if anyone implied such a thing Eddie had words prepared for them detailing just how abysmally wrong they were about it. He could barely believe it himself, but he knew a good thing when he saw one and wasn't about to let it go easily. Ever since the anniversary of Vecna's defeat when Hopper hosted The Party out at his cabin and Eddie and Steve ended up pressed together by the fire, the last two awake, too drunk by far, but not drunk enough to stop Eddie from crying into Steve's shoulder, they'd been circling each other. It took a bit, granted, since Eddie was nothing if not self-sabotaging when it came to crushes, but Steve had been braver than him and ended an elaborate series of near kisses that drove Eddie up a wall with a perfect one planted on him in the front room of the trailer after dinner.
It was bliss, a small town gay like Eddie landing a guy as sweet and protective and bitchy as Steve. And even more than that, Steve seemed to be just as infatuated as Eddie was; he'd liked to touch and be nearby when they were friends, but adding romance dialed it up to another level. An arm around his waist, a leg over his thighs, fingers on his wrist or bumping hips, Steve loved being close and Eddie wasn't used to it, but it was fast becoming his favourite thing. Figuring out that Steve loved getting pet-named and blushed to high heaven whenever Eddie complimented him was icing on the cake. Give him the whole box, really.
So what was the problem?

Pedrosa and his manager Alberto Puig have firm grip on the Repsol Honda garage. Pedrosa has been drafted in by Honda to win back the MotoGP title, and Puig has taken advantage to ensure that he controls events inside the team. Pedrosa and Puig are rumored to be demanding a wall separating the two sides of the Repsol Honda pits, and will have a very strong say in who will replace Nicky Hayden in 2009. Unfortunately, Pedrosa doesn't really want anyone as a team mate, so any such quest will be very difficult. The news from Misano that Pedrosa will be running on Bridgestones from the Indianapolis race onwards will potentially make things even more complicated. The question is whether both Repsol Hondas will be on Bridgestones, or just Dani Pedrosa, with the garage split in the same way as the Fiat Yamaha garage. (x)

After Nicky Hayden's less than surprising switch to Ducati, the 2nd worst kept secret in MotoGP was announced at Motegi today. HRC formally announced that Andrea Dovizioso will be heading to Repsol Honda as Hayden's replacement. The Italian rookie has made a big impression since arriving in MotoGP, and his long-standing relationship with Honda, including struggling to compete with the much faster Aprilia's in the 250 class, made him a racing certainty for the Repsol Honda seat. The devil of such a deal is, as always, in the details. Dovizioso signed a one-year deal with Repsol, in itself a rarity, as the factory team has preferred to work on a two-year cycle with riders. But Dovizioso's biggest challenge will be sharing the pits with Dani Pedrosa. With the full weight of the team's Spanish sponsor behind him, as well as a competent political operator at his side, Pedrosa has had most of the attention from HRC over the past two years, even going so far as to engineer a switch to Bridgestone tires in mid-season, breaking up a long-standing relationship which HRC has had with Michelin. But according to GPOne.com, Dovizioso has secured some powerful guarantees from Honda. Firstly, according to Masumi Hamane, President of HRC, both Dovizioso and Pedrosa will be afforded equal treatment, with a decision made during the season as to who will get preferential access to new material based on who is ahead in the championship at that time. Furthermore, regardless of whether a single tire rule will be introduced or not, Hamane said that "regardless of what happens (with respect to a single tire rule - Ed.), we hope to be able to give both riders the same tires. Even more intriguingly, Hamane ruled out that the two sides of the garage would be divided by a wall, as is the case in the Fiat Yamaha pit box, and as was introduced into the Repsol Honda garage after Pedrosa switched to Bridgestones. The one inkling that all is not well at Repsol Honda is the length of Dovizioso's contract. Signed for just one year, his contract will run out at the same time as Dani Pedrosa's, opening the way for a complete shake-up of the team. There are already strong rumors that Dani Pedrosa has been given notice that he will be fired if he does not win the 2009 world championship, and unless Honda can sign another Spanish rider with championship potential, it is not unthinkable that the Iberian oil giant may reconsider its sponsorship of the factory team. Repsol is increasingly desperate for a Spanish world champion, and if Pedrosa fails them, they may feel they are not getting the necessary return on their investment. (x)

The Italian was confirmed at the team last weekend, and he will replace Nicky Hayden in 2009. Hayden will leave for Ducati after two tense seasons as Pedrosa' teammate. The American suggested at times that Pedrosa got more support than him during his tenure at Honda. Dovizioso says he is concerned about the power Pedrosa has in the team, but claims he will not have a problem if his relationship with the Spaniard is not good. "We've made a good contract," Dovizioso told Motosprint. "At a certain point in the season, the HRC rider best-placed in the championship or fighting for the title will be the first one at receiving the best material and developments. This is an important clause. "There's no point denying that the power held by Pedrosa and (manager, Alberto) Puig worries me. I'd prefer to have a good relationship with Pedrosa, but if he doesn't want that then it certainly won't be a big problem for me." Dovizioso, who made his MotoGP debut this season, has signed a one-year deal with HRC, and the Italian says it was what both parties wanted. "We wanted it that way, and they accepted that immediately. We need to evaluate each other: both of us want to put ourselves to the test." (x)
Tumblr media
The relationship between the pair has been strained since Pedrosa collided with Hayden at Estoril in 2006 in an incident that looked set to destroy the American's title hopes until Valentino Rossi's crash in the Valencia finale allowed Hayden to claim the crown after all. When a wall was erected down the centre of the Honda garage at Indianapolis following Pedrosa's controversial mid-season switch to Bridgestone tyres, Hayden hinted that it would make little difference because there had been no exchange between the two riders' crews anyway. But in an outspoken interview with the official MotoGP website, Puig has accused Hayden of relying on Pedrosa's set-ups and of harbouring jealousy towards the Spaniard. "All I can say is that Hayden may be bothered because now he can't access information and telemetry data from Dani's bike," Puig told motogp.com. "With this information he was able to improve his riding, as he had all of Dani's references and now he can't use that any longer. He was simply copying as he never knew how to set-up a bike. "A professional rider can't be complaining because he can't get access to the other rider's data, because finding what works best is his job, not the other rider's. "Everybody knows that a racing team doesn't work like a football team. It involves two riders, but each is working for himself and the factory will support the rider who has the best chance. Because when it comes to winning, only one rider wins. It has always been like this and it always will be like this - anybody who says the opposite is just lying to look good." Puig claimed that Hayden had never been an equal rival to Pedrosa. "Honestly, and without trying to offend anyone, there was never a rivalry in the garage," he said. "Nicky won the title when Dani was in his first MotoGP season, and since then there was no rivalry because he (Hayden) didn't get the results. On his own, Dani gained experience in this class and Nicky was always behind him, so Nicky has never been a serious rival." Hayden will leave the Honda team for Ducati at the end of the season, with Andrea Dovizioso taking the place. The Italian has already intimated that he expects a difficult relationship with Pedrosa and Puig, who said Pedrosa will regard Dovizioso as just another rival. "He has shown loyalty to the factory, and now he gets a perfect move for him," said Puig of Dovizioso. "As for how it will affect us? It really won't change much and won't affect our way of working. He will be another rival on the track." (x)

Andrea Dovizioso. Meet Dani Pedrosa. Ok, now you two kids play nice.  Speaking at the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in Milan last week, Dovizioso played down any initial tension between himself and Pedrosa: “Dani is a former 125cc and 250cc World Champion and a great rider, but first of all he is a good guy, probably even shyer than I am. Maybe this is the reason why we don´t have a great feeling yet, but we will have a lot of time to know each other,´ said the rider about to enter his sophomore year in the premier class. `I think right now he is not reaching his level on the road, maybe also because of his manager.” Why the manager? Well that might be because Dovi has been described by Alberto Puig (Pedrosa’s manager)as “just another rival”, but Dovizioso is keen to emphasise that there is no bad feeling in the Honda camp. Right… Still, Dovizioso’s goals for the 2009 season includes beating the pants off his teammate, especially with only a year to prove himself as a factory rider. “To finish ahead of Dani would be important, and I am confident about my chances, but I will be mainly focused on stepping on the podium any time I can, being consistent with my new Honda HRC throughout the season.” (x)

MILAN, March 8, 2009 - His face is the same, serene, often smiling. His voice is calm, his words are sometimes sharp. Andrea Dovizioso has not changed even though at 22 he has realized his dream of becoming an official Honda Hrc rider in MotoGP. And he takes stock after the Qatar tests, one month before the start of the world championship. Q: Andrea, the Honda from Losail didn't seem to be in great shape. AD: "We have some small problems, it's true. Especially stability at the rear when braking, but also engine delivery. And we need to work on the clutch. We're slow when entering corners and in Qatar, with the cold and humidity, the bike was sliding a lot when braking." Q: How has it changed the way you work as a factory rider? AD: "You waste energy. With the satellite bike you can change little and you concentrate on riding. Now in every curve you have to think about how to improve things. It's not easy, but if you want to try to win you have to develop". Q: Injuries aside, Pedrosa is an uncomfortable teammate: what is he like inside the box? AD: "I don't know exactly what he does." Q: Is there any exchange of information? AD: "No, nothing. But if we need it, we have access to all the data." Q: What technical situation did he find? AD: "It's too early to say, but I was expecting a more competitive package: I don't know how much depends on Pedrosa and how much on Honda. From what I understand, I think he doesn't want many changes". [...] Q: Can you take away some of Pedrosa's manager Alberto Puig's power within the team? AD: "We all know how Puig tries to have as much power as possible. I think that with the arrival in June of the new HRC president, Suzuki, things will go better." (x)

Having signed an extension to his current deal with Honda, Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa continues to be regarded as the Spanish team's favorite rider for the 2010 MotoGP title. However, the Japanese manufacturer made it very clear that there would be no favoritism within the Repsol Honda team next year, as both Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso will be given equal chances to fight for the title. The situation in the past hasn't been quite the same however, as Pedrosa was constantly advantaged in terms of bike development ahead of former teammate Nicky Hayden between 2006 and 2008. As his height was considerable shorter than Hayden's, it caused the North American rider to score inconsistent results throughout the 2007 and 2008 seasons. The Honda officials insisted that won't be the case next year, as both riders have the power to sustain a title fight next season. “Dovizioso and Pedrosa will have the same position inside the team. We work together with the two riders, both of them, because that's in everyone's interest. It's not true that we have worked just for Pedrosa up to now. We have two riders and we use the work and the information from both of them. Andrea, too, is very useful for development work, and he will be more and more so,” said HRC vice-president Shuhei Nakamoto in an interview with Motosprint. To emphasize this change in strategy, Nakamoto also confirmed that Dani Pedrosa's long-time manager Alberto Puig will no longer be in charge of the technical developments of the Honda bikes, but be handed a more organizational role within the Spanish team. Both Pedrosa and Dovizioso have signed one-year extensions to their current contracts with HRC, but the Italian's contract has a clause that can keep him at Honda until the end of 2011. HRC's change in strategy seems to be related to Pedrosa's public attack at his team in recent weeks. Although he signed the extension after the San Marino GP two weekends ago, he admitted he would have liked to race for Yamaha next year. (x)

Aegon Targaryen was once the best race car driver of his age. He drove the golden Sunfyre into many victories and star-dom. It was the first time he got approval from his mother and father. As well as a surplus amount of attention from women and men alike. He was flawless in every way and never lost. He was handsome, charismatic, and the life of the party. It was impossible not to be in love with this boy from Westeros.
Nothing good ever lasts forever though. He had tied in not one but two races. The Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500 with the first female race-car driver, Rhaenyra Targaryen.  Aegon’s entire life he had competed with her for the top spot in their father’s heart but lost. Now he was competing for the crown and losing.
The day of the Monaco Grand Prix tensions were high. His family was separated on two sides of the road. His mother and her family cheered him on while his father and sisters' family stood on the other. Aegon swore that day he would prove to them all who was the best, who truly deserved their fathers love.
The gunshot sounded and Aegon took off in Sunfyre. Rhaenyra stayed close inside syrax her piss colored car. The race stayed this way until they were finally nearing the end. Rhaenyra twisted her wheel and tried to drive Aegon off the road. He retaliated and pushed her up against the wall sending sparks flying. She wouldn’t let this slide, Rhaenyra maneuvered herself out and slammed into Aegon.
Sunfyre went spinning ahead and nothing Aegon could do would stop the madness. Rhaenyra couldn’t hit her brakes fast enough, she slammed into Sunfyre and her car went flying over him. Sunfyre toppled over in circles until it skidded off the track. When Syrax stopped moving and crashed into the speedway everyone thought it was over.
It was never that simple. Rhaenyra Targaryen met her end once the gas spilled out of her car and was ignited by the sparks. She burnt to death on the day she was meant to be crowned the best race-car driver in history.
Aegon’s car was totaled as were his limbs. A broken leg, rib, hip and a severe concussion. Not to mention the few burns he received while being dragged out of his car and to the ambulance.
It was the end of the mighty Targaryen racing family and the end of the first female driver.
-
It took an entire year for Aegon to be able to function properly again. He had to go through extensive therapy to learn how to walk after his hip replacement and leg surgeries. His bones were not only broken but shattered. The left side of his body was burnt but the scars healed nicely. There were only a few left to prove what he had gone through.
Aegon was kept on pain medication the entire time. Without it he screamed in agony which wasn’t surprising considering the sheer extent of his wounds. After a while though the pain subsided but his need for medication did not.
He discovered once he woke from his coma that his father and extended family had all but disowned him. They blamed him for the death of their beloved Rhaenyra. His own mother, though grateful he was alive, was disappointed beyond belief at his utter failure. His three youngest siblings were there for him the best they could be with their busy lives. Daeron was too busy in high school, Helaena was busy with her new entomology job, she taught college kids about insects. Aemond had taken his place as the non-disappointment. He reverbished the old  but legendary car Vhagar and began racing in Aegon’s stead.
Everyone had found their path in life but him, He was left to rot in a hospital bed for a year.
-
Aegon was let out and a tiny welcome home celebration was held. He was too dosed up on pain-killers to notice everyone was walking on eggshells around him.
This became a daily part of his life. He took pain killers in the morning and night and wasted away. Occasionally he got off his ass and went to parties filled with drugs and hookers. He indulged himself more than any other man his age. There was not a day that went by where he wasn't on something or in someone.
-
All of this came to an abrupt end when a tabloid exposed his habits and his grandfather found out. The man beat the living shit out of him and his mother… she spoke the words that would haunt him until he died. ‘You are no son of mine.’ He pleaded with her to understand but she left him behind, just as everyone else did.
It was that night he went to the old garage and tried to fix Sunfyre. He spent hours working tirelessly on the once ‘golden dragon.’ but it was for nothing. The tires wouldn’t move and its fire breathing engine would never light up again.
He finally hit his breaking point that night. He threw miscellaneous tools around the garage in a rage. He kicked and screamed and rampaged for an hour. Aegon destroyed everything in that garage including trophies and precious photos. Everything that was special to him was gone.
The bender he went on was legendary. The amount of substances he consumed no one could say. One week straight of drugs and whores and not a second of sobriety. He did not eat and he rarely slept. Aegon just kept going as if it was his last race.
He woke up in the hospital again. This time he had overdosed and was under suicide watch. His attempts to escape were futile and his resolve melted away. Aegon was given an option… rehab or die.
-
3 years later…
“Everyone, we would like you to take turns introducing yourselves and why you are here today.” The leader of your addicts anonymous group spoke. You hated this part the most. No one truly cared who you were or why you were here. It was a feeble attempt at getting you to open up.
When it was your turn to speak you begrudgingly stood up. You cleared your throat, “I’m y/n and I’m here for-“ The sound of the foot opening and a man dragging himself inside cut you off. The woman forced a smile. “Look who the cat dragged in! Aegon please take a seat.” His blonde hair was a complete mess and his under eyes were sunken with dark circles. It looked as if he hadn’t bathed in weeks.
“Please continue.” She spoke with her tainted smile. You cleared your throat “I’m y/n and-“ The sound of him coughing cut you off once again. You clenched your jaw and tightened your fists. It was already hard enough being here but he was making it worse. “Are you finished?” You asked in a venomous tone. He peered up at you like you were nothing but rubbish. “oh no, keep going, I’m sure everyone is dying to know who you are.” He spoke in a snarky tone eliciting quiet laughs from those around you.
If there wasn’t a policeman in the room you swore you could kill him. “I’m y/n and I’m here because it was this or jail, thank you.” You threw yourself into your seat staring daggers at the man. He made an amused face and stood. “I’m Aegon Targaryen, some of you may know me as the king of racing, others just as Aegon. My drugs of choice are opioids… and women.” He said with a wink and you thought you could puke. A handful of  men let out chuckles and the few women shyly smiled or brushed their hair behind their ears. This was worse than jail.
The leader of tonight’s meeting went on to talk about god, addiction, trauma and overcoming for an hour. It was unbearably boring and you found yourself dozing off occasionally. At the end you fell completely asleep and woke up to the voice of the lady calling out your name. “Y/N” everyone turned to you. “Y/N” A few people scoffed at your lack of reply. “Y/N” someone kicked your foot and your eyes opened wide. You glanced around the room and noticed everyone staring at you. “Y/N can you lead us in tonight’s prayer?” Shit, you forgot the fucking prayer.
“God… grant us the serenity… to…” You peered around the room looking for help but none came. “To… accept…” It felt like the world was collapsing on you. Your nerves began to quiver and your sweat prickled on your palms. It was just like you were in high school again and stuttered during reading. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference... Amen.”
The room echoed his prayer and he received an overwhelming applause. You were glad someone else did it but why did it have to be him. The once quiet room began to stir as people prepared to leave. You were one of the first to get up and try to escape. “Oh! I forgot to mention. We will be doing acts of community service as a group… you will be paired with partners of our choosing and you’ll have one month to complete all your acts. It’s a way to give back to the community and prove your sobriety is leading you down the right path.” God was not on your side today.
You grabbed your belongings and tried to rush towards your escape but were interrupted. “It gets easier the longer you do it.” You whipped your head around to see the blonde haired man staring down at you. “The prayers I mean and the meetings as a whole.” Your eyes scanned his face for any sign of humor. He seemed to be genuinely kind, maybe you judged him too soon. “Good.” was all you managed to mutter.
“Y/N, that’s a pretty name. I haven’t seen you here before, I’m Aegon.” You forced a polite smile. He outstretched his hand and shook yours. Before he could speak again you interrupted, “I actually have to get going, it was nice to meet you though.” With that you took off towards the door and to the privacy of your car.
-
You were casually scrolling through your phone watching videos trying to keep yourself from boredom when you got a friend request. It was none other than Aegon himself. How did he find you so quickly, you thought.
His Instagram wasn't private, and it was rather unimpressive. Mediocre selfies of him with sunglasses, a car, pictures of friends… the farther you scrolled the more you noticed his car and the party photos. It seemed at one point he was rather good at that.  You were just simply going to deny the request until you got a text. “you up?”
Gross, he was one of those men. You threw your phone onto the bed and rolled over. Why would you send you a text out of nowhere? You were bored and it wasn’t like anyone else was talking to you. “No lol" you replied, still annoyed. "Why though?"
"because I want to see if we could hangout sometime this week," he said, sounding sort of desperate. You laughed to yourself at the notion of hanging out with someone you just met at rehab of all places. “Stranger danger.” You replied jokingly. "If we hang out I won’t be." He replied with a laughing emoji.
You never dated guys you just met. You weren't one of those girls that hooked up with strangers. “Why do you want to hang out with me?” You asked. He took some time to answer. It didn't seem like he was used to giving lengthy replies. Finally he answered. "Because you're cute and you looked like you needed friends in AA."
You snorted at the idea. "You think I'm cute?"  "Yes." He wrote back immediately. You glanced at your phone and chuckled. "Yeah, well I don't think you're cute.”
“You hurt me, Y/N.” He replied with a handful of emojis that would take you time to decipher. You rolled your eyes and turned away. He must have been kidding, you thought. But then you got another text.
“I’m only asking because we were set up as partners for whatever it is they’re planning. Thought it would be nice to talk before we were forced to be around each other.”
Your heart stopped. What? Were you really being set up with this idiot? Wasn't it enough to deal with him in group therapy? “How did you find out so quickly?!” You watched as the three bubbles on the screen took their time to reply.
“It was on the bulletin board.”  Fuck, you hadn’t even bothered to check that since you started going.“let me know if you change your mind.” He typed. “We’ll have plenty of time to “get to know” each other during work.” You replied and put your phone away.
-
The first forced community service was helping pick up trash littered across the streets and park near your AA building. It was one of the worse tasks you were forced to do but it would look good on your record. Instead of jail you were going to AA and doing community service. A true born-again criminal, you laughed in your head.
It was chilly outside and the sun had all but disappeared because of the clouds. It was a perfect dull day for your perfect dull tasks.
“You ghosted me.” Aegon’s voice rang from behind your ear. Another dull thing to add onto the already dull day. “I didn’t ghost you.” He walked up like a happy golden retriever pup. In truth, you didn’t purposely ghost him, you just simply chose to ignore Instagram. You much preferred tumblr and A03 anyway. “Really? You’re one of those who don’t use their phone much?” You were almost constantly on your phone. “No, not necessarily.”
“That’s cool, I couldn’t live without mine.” He smiled and nodded his head. You couldn’t help but smile back. There was something about him that made you feel… nervous? It was hard to put a name on it but you chalked it up to being because he was a man. You didn’t exactly get loads of attention from them and your experiences haven’t been great so of course he would make you nervous.
“So where are we picking up trash?” You asked, breaking the silence between you two. He pointed towards the grassy area to your right. The park was empty. “We have the entire park to ourselves.” Aegon didn’t seem excited about it either.
“Okay then.” You walked off ahead of him.  You couldn’t help but notice he looked better today. He finally took a shower, and his hair was nicely done. Aegon didn’t smell like shit and his smile was bright. It was a welcome surprise you weren’t sure you could handle having to work next to someone who didn’t bathe.
Aegon caught up to you after a few minutes of walking. He kept a close eye on you. You were wearing a pair of jeans and a black top. Not the best outfit for working but it accentuates your curves nicely. Your breasts were pushed up by your bra and your cleavage looked amazing. It was rare you found a bra that fit and decided to wear it today. “You look pretty.” He smiled at you.
“Thanks.” You blushed ever so slightly. If you got out more you would probably be more used to compliments. It was weird hearing them from him but welcomed nonetheless.
“You look better today too.” You forced yourself to compliment him. His smile grew wider and he decided to work right next to you. This was going to be an awkward task.
-
You had spent most of the time picking up what Aegon didn’t bother with. At one point you lost him only to find him flat on his ass staring at the cars driving by. “What happened?” You asked, sitting on the ground next to him. “The wind blew my bag away so I’m calling it quits.”
“This fucking sucks.” You giggled. That was something you liked to say when you were forced to do any type of manual labor. “I know how you feel.” Aegon chuckled. “Why are they forcing us to do that?” You asked while picking at the grass beneath you. “They said it will look good on our records… and free labor.” He shrugged. Of course, it was just using you all for free labor. “Do you think they will notice if I go missing?”
“Probably not.” He laughed. “I should take advantage of the opportunity.” You smirked at him and stood up to leave. “Where are you going?” He grabbed your wrist, and you nearly slapped him. It scared you at first, but he was just innocently asking a question. “I want to see what else is around here,” you spoke. “Don’t leave me here to pick up shit.” Aegon stated and followed you.
-
You had escaped to a small sandwich shop not too far from the park. Of course, he follows you the entire way there blabbering about things you did not care about. It wasn’t until you sat down and started eating did he ask you things of substance.
“Why are you in AA?” He asked with his puppy dog eyes. You noticed quickly how much he resembled a pup. The question made you nearly choke on your food. “Isn’t it called Addicts Anonymous for a reason?” You raised an eyebrow and he chuckled, nodding his head.
“Yeah, but it doesn’t mean anyone cares.” He pointed out. It wasn’t some grand thing that landed you in here. In reality it was pretty embarrassing and pathetic. “I went to a party and drank some special juice. Turns out the special juice had very illegal drugs and I ended up being arrested for being in possession of it, afterwards they gave me the choice of this or jail.” It was the truth, you really didn’t intend to do hard drugs. You weren’t exactly a party animal either seeing as this was one of your firsts. But, you bought the juice and paid the price.
“That’s not that bad.” He said with a smile. You started to become more and more curious about why he was here. Aegon didn’t seem like the other addicts you’ve run into. It looked like maybe he had something going for him at one point. “Why are you here?” You pressed.“I like drinking too much.” That didn’t even remotely surprise you. “and other things.” That peeked your interest more than you cared to admit. Was it heroin? Crack? there was a world of possibilities. “Like what?”
“And what makes you think I would tell you?” He raised an eyebrow. You were caught off guard for a moment. “Well because I just told you everything.” He smirked and leaned back against the wall behind him. “Not every little detail.” You huffed and narrowed your eyes at him. “Fine. Be that way. ” You rolled your eyes.
“If you want to get anything out of me you have to play nice.” He winked at you. You snorted, “How am I supposed to play nice?”He leaned back into his chair and pointed at your phone. “You can start by not ghosting me.” You looked down at your phone and scowled. His words stung a bit but he was right.“Easy.” You smiled and picked up your phone. You texted him a simple hello and stared up at him. Aegon laughed to himself. “Cheeky.”
His accent had been bothering you for ages. You couldn’t quite pinpoint where it was from but definitely not American.  “Where are you originally from?” Aegon enjoyed your interest in him by the looks of his face. “Manchester, UK but my family moved to California a long time ago.”
He crossed his arms over his chest and awaited you to ask something else. It was clear he enjoyed talking about himself. “Why’d you move here?” His smile faltered slightly before picking itself back up, "My family runs a big business.' You simply hummed in response. It didn't seem like he wanted to divulge any more information about them.
"So, do you want to ask me anything?"  You tilted your head to the side. He smiled and stood out of his seat. "Of course, I want to know everything about you... but now isn't the time, they're starting to look for us." He nodded his head towards the window, and you noticed a few other members walking towards you. You let out a deep sigh and pushed yourself out of your chair.
-
Aegon was planning how to get you to go on a date with him the entire night. There were an array of reasons why he was so determined. Firstly you didn’t respond to his advances as most did and that drove him crazy. Secondly you were far prettier than the other girls in AA and close to his age, most people there were nearing menopause. Older women were more of his brother's thing than his own. Thirdly, you were charming in your own way. You were quiet yet there was a playful glint in your eyes when you spoke that told him everything.
He spent the rest of his week trying to text you and convince you to get to know him just once. You were far more receptive over rest than in person, he assumed it was because he made you shy. That made him believe you were all the more cuter.
It was Friday afternoon and you'd finally agreed to meet him after work. You complained a few times about your manager being weird and so he begged you to let him pick him up. He wasn’t going to do anything crazy just scare him off. But you refused which drove him crazy. The idea some other guy  was getting close to you while he wasn’t there irked him to his core.
Aegon didn’t like driving anymore, he only did it when it was absolutely necessary. He wanted to make a good impression so he begrudgingly hopped in his Sunfyre and headed your way. He had taken the time to fix him enough so he could at least drive again. If this was any other person he wouldn’t bother but he needed to impress you.
It was a bit nerve wracking since you finally said yes. He was confident in himself most of the time with random girls but you were hard to impress. His nerves deflated when he finally laid eyes on your figure, You looked insatiably beautiful. You had on a little black dress and an oversized leather jacket. A wide grin grew on his face and he hopped out of his car like an overexcited puppy.
“You look stunning.” He walked over and placed a greeting kiss on your cheek. You let out a surprised ‘Oh’ when he did so that was quickly replaced by a smile and nod. Aegon opened the door for you and took your jacket. He was planning on being the perfect gentleman tonight.
“Thank you." You smiled up at him and he dipped his head a bit. He held the door open for you and watched your frame walk past him. His eyes lingered on your hips and thighs.
“I noticed you post a lot of pics of this car on insta, is it like your baby?” You innocently asked and his heart sunk. He forgot how his Instagram was filled with old pictures from when he was happy. “It’s a piece of junk now that it’s gotten old.” You chuckled and shook your head, "But I thought you loved it or why else would you post it?” He shrugged and tapped his steering wheel, "Well I do but it’s different now." You nodded your head and took in the new basic model. Cars weren’t your thing but you were trying for him.
"I think it’s very beautiful." You turned around to see him staring at you. You flushed bright red and put your hands in your lap. Recently, you had been becoming easily flustered by him. It could have been from the hours you spent texting or the way his face resembled a prince from a book, you didn’t know for sure. “As are you, love,” He smiled to himself.
“So, where are you kidnapping me too?” You raised an eyebrow. "I just planned on stopping somewhere that had a nice view and then grabbing dinner from there, I was thinking somewhere near the water maybe?” He was playing coy. He had spent far too long searching for a specific place near the massive river that led into the ocean because you said you like it. Aegon also looked for a place with the specific food you mentioned liking. To be fair, he never did this for any other woman but he was trying to make a good impression like his brothers did with women. Especially if you found out how much of a loser he was, actions like these would have to save him.
“That sounds lovely." You smiled again and Aegon was glad to see it. He drove down the street and the car was filled with small talk.  He listened to Hozier which surprised you substantially. He seemed more like a pop punk kind of guy.
It wasn’t a fancy restaurant like he said. It was decently sized and had a pretty view of the water. It was dark out so the place was lined with fairy lights. The restaurant only had a small crowd of people inside and he led you to a table a distant away. Aegon pulled out a chair for you and took off your jacket. Once again, this was completely out of character for him but he was following Aemond’s example.
“Are you a fan of seafood? This place is known for their oysters.” He passed a menu to you and smiled up at you. Aegon loathed seafood but you said you liked it. “I don’t know about oysters but salmon is my favorite.” You hummed to yourself as you scanned the menu.
"I think I’ll just follow your example since you seem to know what’s good.” He felt slightly awkward sitting here. He wanted to hold your hand but the whole idea of touching you made him nervous. It was an issue that alcohol could quickly solve.
When he ordered the same thing as you along with two glasses of wine you were shocked. Wasn’t he literally in AA for being an alcoholic? “Wine? Aren’t you afraid of testing positive?” A proud smile creeped onto his face. “Nah, It leaves your system in a day. Why, Are you afraid of being kicked out of lovely AA?”
He gave you a challenging look. It was a scam that you were in AA in the first place but you weren’t there for wine like him. One glass couldn’t possibly hurt. You said, “Absolutely not.”
Aegon laughed and drank his wine slowly. He watched your every move while he sipped on his. You seemed tense and fidgety but you were doing a damn fine job of pretending you weren’t. He was glad he had finally gotten to you. “Tell me more about yourself, Y/N.” You glanced up at him and sat your cup down. “What exactly do you want to know?” He crossed his arm and thought to himself. “Mmm, everything… but I’ll accept whatever you’re willing to give.” Your stomach did the thing with butterflies again.
You took a big gulp of wine to ease your nervous stomach. “I’ll tell you something super embarrassing… I run a blog on tumblr.” You giggled and wiggled a little bit in your seat. It was easier to talk about things online than in real life. There was no judgment or bullying involved.
"Oh yeah? What's it about?" He asked curiously. He could already guess what it was about. “It’s for video games and movies, mostly. And then sometimes I write stuff about my personal life if I feel like it. He chuckled, “I bet I can one up you.”
Your eyes widened and you looked at him expectantly. "Really?" He nodded with a smug grin on his face. “Yup, I still own all my old comic books and posters from when I was a kid.” He said proudly. He loved his collection and it reminded him of a simpler time. "I'm jealous! I used to love comics!" You leaned forward and put your hand on top of his. He moved it around so that he could place it on yours.
"They're a lot cooler than normal books, right?" He said and you sighed in happiness. "Yes, I really am jealous. I wish I collected them too." Aegon smiled at you and tilted his head. “I can show you mine afterwards! If you’re nice enough I’ll let you borrow some to read.” You spoke excitedly, "That would be wonderful, thank you."  He ran his thumb over your knuckles and you shivered. His touch was warm and soothing. You stared into his eyes and they seemed to glow. Maybe it was the alcohol finally taking effect or the lighting but he really was… charming.
The food arrived and you both  ate slowly. He was much too distracted by your face and the conversations you were having. You both had more in common than you originally expected. He told you about his childhood and how he used to collect action figures. This wasn’t information he easily gave out but you made him feel comfortable.
"Do you have any hobbies, Y/N?" He asked after finishing his main course. You absolutely couldn't tell him about your fanfiction addiction which was one of the main things you indulge yourself in. “I play the guitar and I used to be in a shitty band before.” He chuckled and smiled.
"Really? I would have loved to see that!" He smirked, "Maybe I’ll play for you if you’re nice enough,” you smirked at him. He grabbed your hand and kissed your knuckles. You blushed, he was flirting with you a little bit. You didn't mind though, not when he was being so sweet.
“I can play nice.” The way you were looking back at him made him feel strange. He was getting a little turned on but he tried to ignore it. You were drunk and he knew that you'd probably regret this tomorrow. But he also wanted to get inside of you, he wanted you in more ways than one.
"What are you planning to do after this?" He asked. You shrugged and looked away from him. "Go home, watch Netflix, and go to bed." You replied honestly without thinking.
Aegon shook his head, "That's a boring end to the night, if you’d like you can come back with me and I’ll show you what we talked about earlier.” He said, his eyes staring at you intently. You purse your lips together and your heart was pounding. You were definitely going to regret this tomorrow.
"I'd like that.” You said quietly. His smile widened and he got up from his seat. He walked behind you and placed his hand on the small of your back. “I swear you’ll love it!” He whispered. He pulled you towards the door, his long fingers trailing down your spine as he did.
-
His house was nicer than expected. It was modern and very spacious. You noticed he had pictures of what you assumed were his family and some of him next to his car. You didn’t pry because it was obvious he didn’t enjoy them by the way he avoided looking at them. It was pretty clear this was the home of a single man and not someone with a family.
He held your hand the entire way to a bedroom… a spare room. It had lots of boxes with different labels. It was as plain as any other room in the house though it smelled strongly of him.
“Did you just move here?” You asked while staring at the room. He nodded, "Yeah, I couldn’t handle living in an apartment anymore." He said. Aegon walked away from you and opened a box. He was apparently serious about showing you his collection.
“I have mainly dc comics but there’s a handful of marvel somewhere.” He smiled back at you. You felt yourself blush again because his eyes were sparkling brightly. “If your accent doesn’t impress girls do you use these instead,” you joked. He laughed and walked towards you. Your breath hitched in your throat for a moment at the closeness. “Only the ones with really good taste.” You bursted out in a laugh at his stupidity.
Aegon leaned into you as you drunkenly giggled at his joke. “You think I’m funny?” His face was mere inches from yours and you could feel his breath on your face. You leaned in even closer so your noses almost touched. “I'm better.” Aegon placed a hand on the side of your cheek and stared into your eyes.
Your stomach did a somersault when he lightly brushed his lips against yours. He lingered for only a moment, but it felt like an eternity before pulling away.
You quickly grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back to kiss him again. It was stupid of you to be doing this because you knew that much. It wasn’t allowed to sleep with other members in AA but the alcohol clouded your judgment. Well, Aegon in general clouded your judgment. He was incredibly handsome, had a body like a god, and an ass that would make any woman jealous.
He pulled away from you once more, breaking the kiss. You were about to speak up when he kissed your neck, sending shivers down your spine. You gasped as he bit down on your collarbone and took advantage of the opportunity to run his hand through your hair. Your breathing became faster and heavier, both of your hands began exploring each others bodies. His fingers slid under the hem of your dress until they reached your thigh. You pushed them higher and he moaned into your ear.
"I want you," He breathed out. "Please." Aegon's lips left your neck and he moved to your shoulder. You ran your fingers through his hair and grabbed hold. This wasn't part of the plan, but you didn't care. The alcohol had taken over your mind. Why wouldn't you do something crazy if it meant getting what you wanted?
He moved his hand lower, slipping under the waistband of your panties. You sighed softly as he caressed your bare skin. The kiss he planted on your neck turned into deep kisses all over your body. You wrapped your legs around him and ground your hips against his. "Aegon..." You murmured. "I can’t take it anymore."
His hand slipped further south and you could feel his warm cock pressing against your pussy. You whimpered as he rubbed himself between your folds. You were already wet and ready for him, but he refused to enter you. He just kept teasing you, rubbing his hard cock against you while kissing you roughly. He moved back and slipped two fingers inside of you.  You were unable to control yourself, your walls clenched tight around his fingers.
Your body took over and you pushed him onto the bed, taking off his pants. The moment his cock sprang free, you slammed your mouth down on him. Aegon groaned and shoved his hands in your hair, holding you tightly. You sucked and licked his shaft, taking him deeper into your throat. “you’re so pretty sucking my cock.” He moaned out.
You sucked him harder and Aegon's hips bucked beneath you and a string of curses came out of his mouth. He grabbed your hair and began thrusting his cock into your throat. You could feel him begin to throb and his face contorted in pleasure.
You gagged at the fierce intrusion and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. “I-I’m cumming.” He spoke in mumbled words and slammed his cock into the back of your throat. You tried to quickly swallow, trying not to choke. "Easy," You whispered. "I'm a little drunk."
He chuckled darkly then pulled you off of his cock. Aegon sat up and forcefully shoved you onto the bed making you gasp. He began tearing off the clothes that covered your curves. His hands were greedy and it made you moan as he groped your tits. He threw your bra aside and moved to suckle on one of your nipples. You held his head in place, moaning as he sucked. You never thought your tits could be so sensitive, but Aegon proved you wrong.
"Fuck!" You cried out, as he pinched the nipple between his teeth. He released it and trailed his tongue down your stomach. You whimpered and spread your legs wider, allowing him easier access.
Aegon knelt down and pulled down your panties. You shimmied out of them and threw them aside. Aegon looked up and smiled at you before dropping to his knees. He started gently kissing your inner thighs before nibbling at your skin. He left a trail of marks down your thighs to your cunt. You shuddered as he ran his tongue up and down your slit, getting it nice and wet. You squealed when he placed his tongue on your clit and began licking and sucking.
“you’re so sweet.” He mumbled sending vibrations onto your cunt. He stuck two fingers inside of you and you let out a soft moan. He plunged his fingers in and out of your body, slowly building up speed. You gripped the sheets underneath you as he went rougher. Aegon curled his fingers so they hit your sweet spot perfectly. Your entire body rang out in pleasure. You didn’t realize how being drunk heightened every single one of your senses. "oh fuck...Aegon..." You panted. "I- I'm gonna cum."
He grinned and drew his fingers out of you. “Please… Y/N, come for me baby.” He parted your folds with his fingers and dipped his tongue back inside of you. You almost blacked out as pleasure shot through your whole body. You thrashed around and let out muffled cries as your climax took over all of your senses. You felt the wetness on your thighs as he lapped up your juices. You could feel him smiling while toying with your overstimulated clit.
It was only after your orgasm subsided that you realized he hadn't entered you yet. A small kiss touched your face as you lay there panting heavily. "So good for me." he purred. "You're so beautiful, Y/N." You didn’t expect so much praise from a man like him, maybe you had been wrong about him. You reached up and pulled his face down onto yours in a heated kiss.
"I want you, Aegon." You said, once you broke apart. His lips curled into a smirk as he moved to rub his cock against your pussy. He was a very fucking good listener.
"Tell me what you want, Y/N." Aegon said, his voice deep with lust. You bit your lip, thinking about how to describe how you wanted him to fuck you. You looked up and found him smirking down at you. “I want you to fuck me.” You whispered breathlessly.
Aegon let out a rough laugh, pushed your legs up onto his shoulders and aimed his cock at your opening. He rubbed himself against you, getting used to the position again and slathering his cock with your wetness. "I love that you're so eager." He growled out, slowly slipping inside of you. Your head fell back and your grip on his shoulders tightened. His cock was thick and the perfect length to hit your spot.
"Oh god, Aegon..." You moaned loudly. He thrust his hips forward and the tip of his cock slipped past your cervix. You gasped and grabbed onto the sheets below you, feeling him slowly inch inside of you. You tensed up and clenched around his shaft, squeezing it tightly.
"Aegon!" you shouted out, grabbing handfuls of the sheets as he continued to push more and more of his cock inside of you. You glanced up at him and saw his eyes closed tight as he concentrated on pushing deeper and deeper into you. "Fuck!" You cried out loud when he began violently thrusting inside of you.
"Does it hurt?" He asked, his voice strained. You shook your head no, unable to speak because of how full you felt. Aegon let out a grunt. "Good. I don't wanna hurt my pretty girl."
You whimpered as he pumped his hips faster and harder inside of you. He slammed his cock hard against your g-spot and each time he did it you cried out in pleasure. His thrusts started becoming sloppy and as he grunted. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he let go of your waist and grabbed your hips. You dug your nails into his strong shoulders and bit down on his shoulder.
"Fuck! Do you like this? Do you like having being fucked by me?!" Aegon groaned above you. You nodded frantically as he began hammering your cunt. His balls slapped against your thighs, and you arched your back, letting him pound away at your hole.
"Fuck, Y/N!" He roared out as he rammed into you over and over again. His breaths became heavy and his movements slowed. He pulled out of you and before you could whimper at the loss of him he flipped you onto your stomach.
He pulled your hips up against him and fisted your hair. “You’re too pretty… Im cumming too fast.” He groaned out. He began slamming into you again and you screamed out in pleasure.
"P-please." You begged, grinding yourself against his cock. He raised his hand and slapped your ass cheek. It sent a tingling sensation throughout your cheek and surely left a mark.
"I'm going to make sure you remember this night." He groaned. Aegon pushed your hips down and laid himself on top of you. When he moved his cock it hit your spot perfectly causing you to cry out. Your cunt clenched around his shaft and he whimpered. He held onto your hip and buried his head in your neck.
His thrusts picked up speed and he was pounding into you harder than ever before. You gripped onto the sheets beneath you and called out his name. His pace quickened until he was slamming his cock into you over and over again. You tried to keep up but soon you were biting down on your lower lip as you came again.
"Oh god!" You cried out as another wave of pleasure washed over you. Your entire body tensed up and your toes curled. He slowed his pace and placed gentle kisses onto your neck. Aegon slowly slid out of you and turned you so you were facing him again. He slid himself inside you and your head felt faint at the intrusion.
"My sweet Y/N." He purred into your ear. He pushed your legs further up onto his shoulders and began pumping into you again. He gripped your hips tightly and began pulling you into him. He was gentler this time and kept his mouth right above yours as he pumped himself inside of you.
His breathing grew heavier and his grunts louder. His thrusts became erratic and he pounded into you as if he couldn't get enough. You wrapped your hands around his neck and stared into his blue eyes as they glazed over with lust. “Good boy.” You didn’t know why you felt the need to say it but you did. He moaned out and his eyes squeezed shut.
“Cum for me baby.” you purred into his lips. He grunted and released a string of words that you couldn't understand. You giggled and kissed him deeply. He shoved his tongue into your mouth and you sucked on it eagerly.
He growled into your mouth and bucked his hips. His cock twitched inside of you and he let out a low grunt. He held on to your hips as he shot off inside of you. He moaned into your mouth and buried his face into your neck. His cock pulsated and spurted inside of you and you could feel the warm liquid coating your insides. Aegon pulled himself out so the last bit ended up on your clit.
He collapsed onto your chest and his cock slipped free of you. His breath was heavy and he was panting heavily. He stared into your eyes as he breathed and you stroked his hair. You weren’t quite sure what to say after that.  After a few moments he lifted himself up and grabbed some tissues from the box beside your bed.
Aegon gently wiped away any liquids he left on your body and gently kissed the areas he left marks. He was being so sweet, it surprised you. He climbed back into bed with you and snuggled close. You pulled the covers up to hide your nudity and cuddled up next to him.
"Will you stay with me?" He murmured into your ear. The idea he would be the type of person to ask that shocked you. You brushed his sweaty hair out of his face and placed a chaste kiss to his lips. “If you want me to.” You whispered.
He smiled at you and tugged the blanket up over you. "I'll hold you to that." He said and placed a tender kiss on your forehead. You cuddled close to him and drifted off to sleep. You were definitely going to regret this in the morning.

If you know me outside of Tumblr, don't tell my mom
I said goodbye to my old car last night. Vivid green 2012 Hyundai Accent hatchback. That thing had stellar fuckin gas mileage (for a non-hybrid anyway, I could squeeze like 40mpg out of it if I tried), hauled around way too much shit, played FAFO with black ice, was stolen in Amarillo, TX and recovered south of Oklahoma City, OK - and for context, I live in Indianapolis - back in 2018, and transported many friends and even some coworkers. It also has had kernels of dry field corn in the floorboard for the past two years. Oh, and I broke the frickin passenger side mirror by backing out of the garage too close.
Her name was Arachnaverde because she was green and I kept an anatomically incorrect spider skeleton (halloween decoration) on the dashboard. Spood's job was to let me know when I was taking a turn too fast. He would skitter away if I did.
Prior to Arachnaverde, I had a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that I called Madame Blueberry. She was a lovely teal color, had two doors, and I once forgot an entire watermelon in the back floorboard in college and it rotted and stank so badly. -4/10 do not recommend. Also her trunk had loose soybeans from when I took a few dried soybean plants for some reason or another. ADHD be like that sometimes.
Prior to Madame Blueberry, I had an unnamed charcoal gray 89 Mercury Grand Marquis. This car had one interesting anecdote, and 3 notable events.
In the long long ago when I was still in junior college (2 year college for people who live in states that don't fuck with junior colleges), I left it overnight in the college parking lot for some reason I no longer recall. When I retrieved it in the morning, someone had used car window paint to write "HOOPTY" on the back windshield. To be fair, it was.
That car was how I learned not to leave a can of silly string in a hot car. Did you know if a can of silly string gets hot enough it will straight up explode? I didn't until I found a really messy plastic bag and blue spatters all over the roof of my car.
I used to park under a specific tree in front of the house, because I lived with my parents on a farm, and the garage was for my mom's vehicle, no one else's. Dad's main ride parked in the patch of ground between the barnyard fence and the garage (dad's parking spot, mostly), and the farm truck parked in the barnyard. Anyway, point is, I parked under a tree which worked quite well for many years except at the very end a large fragment of dead tree pierced my car *right* in front of the hood so I had a rough rectangle of Missing Car for the tail end of my ownership.
Anyway, I've known for months that I needed to get a new car. Needed new front struts, a replacement sensor in the steering column, new back brakes, new front tires.... I tried back in May but for some reason the car I found just didn't vibe with me (Mitsubishi Mirage). It was kinda noisy, very basic. Also very cheap.
Last week, the stars aligned and I found a hopeful prospect with low mileage, decent mpg, and within my budget.
So now I have a new-to-me brick of tofu (white Kia Soul 2020).
I have said my farewells to the green beast, and look forward to what kind of adventures I'll get into with the as-of-yet-unnamed toaster.
So far the best name I've come up with is Tofungus because I am awful. I definitely want to give it a black horizontal stripe and add the "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" decal to the side because i'm a fuckin weeb and also did you know there's a sequel to Initial D this season? I'm enjoying it.

Victor’s Weight, Missing Motor Skills, and the Indianapolis Gazette Article
Okay so, i’ve been thinking more about the Indianapolis Gazette article where it talks about Victor being found on the side of the road, because it mentions three key things:
1.) His exact weight when the town cops picked him up
2.) Him being “slight”/thin when the town cops picked him up
3.) Him lacking fine motor skills when the town cops picked him up
Here’s the article section about it:
Tumblr media
“Creel at first told authorities he knew nothing about the things found at his home. He is described as 5 feet (10?) inches, weighing about (150?) with light skin, light brown hair, and “appearing slight and unable to perform basic motor functions.””
And yes, being drugged and having your brain zapped could cause problems with fine motor skills, but yknow what else can cause fine motor skill problems?
Malnutrition and rapid muscle deterioration, aa your muscles play a key role in your fine motor skills. Which, if you lose weight rapidly/starvation levels/unhealthy deficit, tends to happen. Which is interesting to me because the line with Victor’s exact weight listed AND the line about him looking slight/thin are both in the same section/sentence as the talk of him lacking his fine motor skills.
Especially with all of the talk of starving with Hopper’s Russia plotline and Hopper and Victor having directly paralleled scenes where they’re both in prison cells talking about how they’re cursed…. I don’t know what the full connection is, but there’s something here. Especially with “Victor” in the Massacre at Hawkins Lab sequence holding Henry/Edward the same way that Brenner holds El… did somebody replace Victor with another Victor and the real Victor was held at Hawkins lab for a much longer period of time than initially believed? Was the real Victor somehow Brenner? Some sort of The Thing-esque shapeshifitng involved? It sounds insane, but like i said, one of the “Victors,” holds Henry/Edward the way Brenner hold El, AND Brenner being called “papa”/likened to a father figure. There’s SOMETHING here, either way.
And look, dude looks great, average weight, but I wouldnt go out of my way to describe him as “slight,” in a newspaper. He’s got muscle. (victor call me, i’ll treat you right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s all very weird. Especially since the Victor that was found on the side of the road in the Indianapolis Gazette had no knowledge whatsoever of what had happened at the Creel house. Which, if he’s not the same Victor who was at the Creel house that night and there was an imposter from the lab or from another timeline or SOMETHING…. Would make sense…. Something is amiss here either way.

BBU Community Days, #10
@bbu-on-the-side
{Day 10: In-BBU-media} Create a piece of media that could exist within the BBU - everything from twitter post to newspaper feature to ad transcript to WRU press release! Pet lib call for action to desperate owner self-help reddit thread. Go wild!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll preface this with a disclaimer: I've never written any kind of script or screenplay in my life. But, when I saw this prompt my brain catapulted me back to 1993 with "Homeward Bound", the story of a cat and two dogs who think they've been abandoned when their family drops them off at a friend's house to pet-sit while they are away. The animals embark on a wild adventure across the country to find their family.
So, that + BBU led me to this trailer screenplay/transcript bit. Enjoy(? lol)
Tumblr media
{Scene opens on a modern cabin-style house tucked into the thick of a grand landscape. Forest/mountains. mountains/forest. Soft, lighthearted track plays as camera zooms in on family piling out of minivan: dad, mom, 10-year-old son, and three collared Pets; all are smiling happily as they unpack the van}
[Narrator:] “The Bensons were set to spend a relaxing week enjoying their vacation deep in the Colorado mountains.”
Dad: “Nothing but blue skies and the great outdoors!” (turns to his son) “What do you think?”
Son: -looks up from his Switch and rolls his eyes- “As long as we’ve got power I’m all set.”
Dad: “Come on, Daniel! You can play that thing anywhere. Hey, Chance?”
{Camera cuts to the youngest Pet, Daniel’s companion, peeking out from behind the family van.}
Chance: “Yes, Master?”
Dad: “Take Daniel here and play some ball with him, alright? Still got time before dinner.”
{Scenes of the youngest Pet, Chance (platonic), playing ball outside with the son while two other Pets (young female, Sassy, is a domestic; middle-aged male (Shadow) is domestic/caregiver) attend to and entertain the parents. Scene cut to the Bensons leaving the cabin to drive into town for a dinner reservation, leaving the three Pets alone.}
[Narrator:] “Little did they know the danger that lurked on the horizon.
{Scene of Shadow opening the backdoor to investigate a suspicious sound. The three Pets are kidnapped, drugged to unconsicousness, and thrown into a van by nondescript humans in black clothing. Family returns home to find signs of struggle, a Pet Lib calling card, and the Pets’ torn collars discarded on the floor.}
[Son rushes to his father, tears in his eyes:] “Dad, they’re gone!”
[Father hugs his son:] “Don’t worry, we’ll find them.”
{Scene cut to the three pets waking in a pet liberation facility in a panic, bandages on their necks where their trackers have been surgically removed. They learn they’re in a warehouse in Indianapolis, 1,000 miles away from their owners. The trio escapes.}
Chance: “Maybe we could go to the police? Tell them we’ve been kidnapped?”
Sassy: “They’ll think we were running away! And without our chips they won’t know where to find Masters and Mistress!”
Shadow: “Well, looks like we’ll have to find them ourselves.”
[Narrator:] “Now, Chance, Sassy, and Shadow will do whatever it takes to make it back home.”
{Montage of hitchhiking, survival, injuries, running from pet lib soldiers on their tail intermixed with beautiful scenery and majestic, swelling music.}
(Gold-tinted text hovers on the right side of the screen: “A fresh take on a beautiful classic!” - Ebert & Roper)
(Existing text fades and is replaced by another on the left side of the screen: “An emotional depiction of loyal, affectionate Pets.” - The Guardian)
[Narrator:] “Experience the heartwarming and incredible story of three stolen Pets and their journey back to the ones who love them most.”
{Scene of the moments before the tearful reunion. Camera pans in on the bedraggled, exhausted, relieved Pets racing toward the cabin where the family cheers. The Pets kneel at their owners’ feet, happy tears in all eyes as they celebrate the reunion. Camera pans out over the forest/mountains}
(Golden text fades in on top: “Homeward Bound”)
