#Side note: I remember when I found out that it's still possible to get pregnant post hysterectomy

So phrases like "people with uteruses" or "people who have periods" never really bothered me as much as more overtly dehumanizing phrases like "bleeders" or "birthing bodies", but I saw a post today talking about the abnormal symptoms women experienced after getting tear gassed protesting, that ended with something like "we don't know the full effects of tear gas on people with uteruses". And what struck me about that is that's not really correct, because female people without uteruses (either bc they were born without one or bc they had a hysterectomy) will still experience different symptoms after being tear gassed than male people. Women metabolize substances differently than men, our immune systems are different, our hormonal cycles are different, our skin has different thicknesses, etc. All of those things have potential effects on tear gas reactions, and are not dependent on whether or not we have a uterus. They're dependent on whether or not we're female. So saying "people with uteruses" when what is meant is "female people" is not really accurate. And I realized that a lot of times when people use those kinds of phrases, they aren't being accurate.
For example, I'm sure we've all seen people say things about how the repeal of Roe v Wade will harm people with uteruses/people who can get pregnant/etc. And while yes, it definitely harms those people, the full truth is that abortion bans harm *female* people, *regardless of if they can get pregnant or have a uterus.* Because female people who don't have uteruses can still get pregnant, and in those rare cases will 100% of the time need an abortion. Female people who deal with infertility and can't carry a fetus to term can still be jailed for miscarrying. Female people who are completely sterile (for whatever reason) can still be denied medications/medical treatment on the grounds that the treatment could theoretically harm a fetus. Female people who may currently have no uterus/no longer be able to get pregnant but who have had an abortion in the past will face increased stigma.
Here's another example:
Tumblr media
It seems pretty straightforward- menstruation stigma is experienced by people who menstruate. But again, that's only half true. Period stigma is experienced by all female people, regardless of if they menstruate. Think about the fact that we are told female people should not hold political leadership because "what if a female president has PMS and starts a war", despite the fact that almost all female presidential candidates are old enough that they would have experienced menopause. Female people have their feelings dismissed because "it must be that time of the month", regardless of if they're too young to menstruate or too old or if they have a condition causing amenorrhea. Female children grow up seeing periods- a natural function of their bodies- portrayed as disgusting, dirty and gross, as making them unclean, as something to dread and fear. This affects them before they experience menarche, this affects them even if they never experience menarche. It affects all female people.
I could come up with more examples, but you get the idea. Reducing female people to singular body parts and organs inherently denies the reality of femaleness. All parts of us (both biological and social) interact with all other parts of us to form an experience that can't be understood by chopping us up and putting our individual functions under the microscope. In order to get an accurate picture you need to look at the whole (female) human.

being a harbinger had never been an easy task. surviving the abyss , climbing the ranks of the fatui , and surviving constant attacks from enemies was not a lifestyle for the weak.
it also wasn’t a lifestyle he wanted for his family. he had never planned to fall so in love with you. when he first met you at liyue harbor , it was just a chance encounter. but then he kept seeing you.
over and over and over.
childe figured he may as well get to know you. he had always been a charming man , almost too charming. it always worked out in his favor…
he wondered how long he could keep the balance of his personal relationship with you and his life as a harbinger up for. it had been going so well.
he remembered the day you announced your pregnancy so clearly.
it was a bright sunday morning and the two of you were having breakfast together. it was rare for him to be home on the weekend , but there he was , happily eating a serving of eggs and toast with you.
you had been holding off the announcement for a few weeks. you knew exactly how busy he was. something about seeing him so content with your presence made you spill the beans.
he had never appeared happier. childe made it clear in the past he had always wanted to be a father , but now that it was exactly happening? he couldn’t contain his excitement.
it was hard keep the pregnancy a secret , but it was necessary. the less people that knew , the better. the 11th harbinger having a family wasn’t supposed to be public knowledge. it made everybody involved a major target to his enemies.
one of the hardest days of your lives came a few months later , when you went into labor. childe stood by your side the whole time. he held your hand tight while you struggled with the birth of your son.
love at first sight had always been an odd phenomenon to childe. his son changed all of that. seeing the bright ginger tufts of hair and light blue eyes of his son , he instantly fell in love.
childe was a man whos life was full of blood and gore , but this child brought out an entirely new side of him. he wanted to change and be a softer , kinder man.
but he couldn’t do that. the fatui would never allow him to do such a thing. he was a weapon , not a father , as much as he wanted to be one. he had a place in the tsaritsa’s chess game. you were nowhere to be found on that board.
it didn’t take long for the first threat towards his family to come in.
childe had never been so antsy in his life. he rushed home as soon as he could , only to find you and your son alive and well. that was the first time he considered leaving.
would it be better if he left? he knew it would hurt you. he knew it would be difficult to care for your son alone. maybe he could transfer money to you so you could have a well - off life.
he couldn’t risk your life by being in it. hate him all you want , but at least you would be alive.
the night he finally decided to leave was the worst night of his life.
his family had received too many threats. too many people knew of you. your small home in liyue harbor was a target of the worst enemies of the fatui.
childe had spoken of moving several times before. after bringing it up for the upteenth time , you finally agreed. it was a small home on the outskirts of the city. it was certainly an upgrade from your prior home , though still small. it was big enough for three , but would be quite roomy for two…
the thought of leaving made him sick. childe would never get to see his son grow. maybe he could come by liyue and see glimpses of him , but he would never be able to be his father.
he felt ill every time he returned home. you’d happily greet him with a kiss , whilst your son laid in his crib , playing with toys or babbling senselessly in an attempt to speak his first word.
sitting in your small home , the moonlight shines brightly through the curtains , resting on childe as he held your son in his arms.
you were sleeping comfortably on your shared bed , blissfully unaware of the mental battle childe was having with himself.
maybe he was being dramatic. he was a harbinger. nobody would truly be dumb enough to go after his family. that’s what he thought…until signora was killed , and only a few months later scaramouche disappeared.
with harbingers beginning to drop like flies , he knew it was only a matter of time until he was targeted , or worse ; his family.
he held his son gently in his arms , taking in every detail of the small boy as if it were the last time he would see him…
because it would be.
he intended to enjoy the last few moments he had with his son. once the boy was asleep , he planned to put him in his crib , kiss your forehead , and never come back.
“i’m sorry,” childe whispered, his voice soft and nearly breaking as he spoke. it was so different compared to his normal boisterous personality.
a sudden stiring from your bed caught his attention. he quickly turned to look at you , his gaze meeting yours as you sat up.
in a tired state , you glanced around looking for your son. your eyes softened as you noticed the small boy in his arms.
“he’s precious, isn’t he?” you whisper , a tired smile pulling at your lips. you were never quiet about how much you loved the small family you built for yourself.
oh how unaware you were…
childe struggled to reply. he felt as if he were going to snap and spill the fact he was planning to leave you and your child behind.
“he is.”
“he looks just like you , you know?” you laugh. you’d made it clear that you were jealous your son took after his father. they were practically twins. it was ‘unfair’ how you carried him around for months only for him to be identical to his father.
childe didn’t respond. he quietly held the baby in his arms , gently rocking him back and forth.
“it’s rather late , ajax.”
childe looked up at you as you stated his real name. somehow , that name made him leaving feel worse.
he loved you. he truly loved you. he loved the family you built together. but he couldn’t stay. he didn’t deserve it. he couldn’t risk either of you to stay and enjoy this.
“i know,”
“i can take him if you -”
“no. he’s almost asleep anyway,”
a silence fell between the two of you as you stared at your son.
to you , it was a comfortable silence. just a small family enjoying a late night with their small baby.
to childe , this was worse than the abyss. he felt like he was lying to your face. he was leaving , and he couldn’t even muster the strength to tell you that. he didn’t deserve to be a father. he didn’t deserve to love you.
“go back to bed,”
“i am,” you smiled, laying back against the bed. you rested on your side, watching as he continued rocking your son back and forth.
“i love you,” he whispered. the words felt bitter coming out of his mouth. he knew it was true. but he also knew it would be the last time he spoke them to you.
“i love you as well,” you replied in that tired voice he loved so much.
it didn’t take long for you to fall back asleep. only a few moments passed before your son fell asleep as well.
childe gently placed your son in his bassinet. a feeling of guilt overwhelmed him , but he couldn’t stay. this wasn’t the life he deserved. his family deserved better. you deserved better.
he wasn’t going to put you at risk every day of your life just so he could be happy.
he wished he could tell you how much he loves you , but that was no longer possible. you were already asleep , and he intended to be gone by sunrise.
he leaned over to your side of the bed , pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead.
Tumblr media
the next morning arrived , waking you with the bright beams of sunlight. looking to your side , you realized ajax was gone.
that was nothing unusual. he often ran errands in the morning , or he was at work.
either way , you decided to start your day , picking up your small son. the two of you would get some housework done while waiting for ajax’s return.

It had been weeks since you and Bada had become intimate with each other. Just as it had started it seemed to have stopped there as well.
Not only that you had been experiencing cravings and some fatigue, it made you wonder if Bada could have possibly gotten you pregnant.
To be safe you took a test, two lines. As you realized it, your heart raced and your body felt numb. How could you even tell her such a thing with how cold she was?
The next day during your private dance classes she was as cold as ever, her face showing no emotion as usual. You slowly inched towards her and grabbed her arm gently. She turned her head quick and frowned down at you, her head tilted slightly.
“What is it? Your dancing is lacking and now you want to stop?” She stared at you expectantly but her face morphed into a look of worry at the tears flooding from your eyes. She gripped your shoulder and bent down until you were facing her.
“Tell me. Tell me what it is,” this time her voice was soft and gentle and she brushed your hair out of your face.
“I’m pregnant. You got me pregnant,” your voice trembled slightly.
She didn’t respond. She just stood and paced before leaving the room. You wanted to run after her but guilt just washed over your weakened body. With the class being over as she left the room, you began to collect your things in silence.
The sounds of songs playing from other practice rooms echoed into yours, different mixes of songs bouncing off the walls. A familiar one played, Smoke, Bada choreographed that one. It hurt to remember it at this point.
You stood up and opened the door, letting it hit the wall with a thud behind you. Your eyes shifted upward only to find a man in front of you. He smiled, it wasn’t pretty but it wasn’t ugly either. “You dance here? First time?”
“I’ve been taking private classes,” your response was with a slight annoyed tone.
He looked at the room number and smiled again. “Ah, with Bada then? She’s alright but I’m better. I could teach you if you want?” His hand found its way to your hip. You were feeling vulnerable, as if almost anyone, any man, could fill that empty hole that Bada just left.
Before you could react you felt a heavy hand yank you to the side and grip at your neck. “She’s doing just fine in my class,” her jaw hardened at the sight of that creature trying to feel you up. Her hand reached towards your stomach, she rubbed softly in slow circles. Bada was a very territorial woman. She stared at the man, her face nose to nose with his.
“Get,” was all she had to say for him to scurry off to another room down the hall. As she turned to you her grunted. She palmed your chest causing you to fall back into the room. Her body was so muscular and slick with sweat as she stretched and shut the door behind the both of you.
“You want to flirt with others while you’re pregnant with my child?” She spoke gently but you could tell you were in for it this time.
She took a deep breath and turned to lock the door. She stood still for some time, her back facing you. “You’re always showing out like the whore you are. That’s hardly fair to me,” she abruptly faced you.
Bada drops to her knees and spreads your legs open. She bit her lip and tugged at your sweatpants and threw them off to the side.
“I’m sorry Bada, but you shouldn’t have just left like that!” Your voice reverberated throughout the room.
She grit her teeth. “Keep it down. I’m not going to pay the price for your bitching,” she rubbed her forehead in a frustrated manner before holding you hostage in a kiss. Her tongue flicked around your mouth and locked against your own tongue. You could feel her sweet taste flooding your mouth, and as you continued to kiss, her fingers pressed against your core. You gripped her shoulder and pulled her in closer, your lips crammed into hers.
She moved her thumb over your swollen clit and pressed down with much force. You whimpered and tried to pull from the kiss but she held you in place, her other hand behind your neck. After what felt like ever she pulled away and pointed to the bulge in her pants. “Be a good girl and suck me off..,” without hesitation you dropped to your knees and pulled her sweats down.
There was a strong scent of lotion mixed with sweat as loosened her fly. Her cock sprung out and bounced a few times before protruding straight out towards you. Before tasting her hard cock you pushed your hand in between the hole of her boxers and fished out her balls. They were large and definitely full of the thick load that was about to be splattered onto your pretty face.
She took both of her hands and forced your head towards her crotch. You pressed your lips against her tip and teased like before, Bada didn’t enjoy being teased at all. So she thrusted until her cock was lodged deep into your throat. You gagged at the raw taste of her penis being repeatedly shoved into your mouth. Your nose was pressed against her pelvis and her balls smacked into your chin as she deepthroated you, her moans becoming out of control and wild.
Anyone outside in the halls could definitely hear her animalistic groans. “I’m fucking close,” she muttered as she bent herself over you. She quickly pulled out and dropped her load all over your face. Bada kept her two of her fingers in your mouth so she could spill the rest of her seed deep in your throat.
Her body tensed as she pulled back and stared down at you. “Take off your panties for me, take off your panties for me like a good girl,” she grinned as you stripped your lower half of all clothing.
Bada slapped the tip of her penis against your thigh, leaving a wet splotch of your own drool against your skin. She positioned her tip in between your slit and rubbed it up and down and over your folds. Suddenly she thrusted in and moaned out as you took her full length inside of you.
“I’m pregnant,” you cried out but she ignored your whines and pounded into you, the sound of your skin slapping against hers. Your nails dug into her back leaving red marks all over her soft pale skin. Her huffs became louder as she buried herself inside of you, calling out your name like a whiny dog.
“Fuck you feel so good, tell me when you’re close,” she whispered into your ear, her body heating yours up as she moved against you. A few more thrusts and you felt as if you were in heaven, her tip moving in all the right spots of your sensitive cunt. She dropped her head into you and let out a low guttural groan before releasing her semen deep into you, but she didn’t stop. She continued to plow into you, her back arching to better reach your best spots. It felt warm and as you continuously wrapped around her cock with much tightness she couldn’t seem to help herself.
“I’m close.. I’m gonna,” your eyes rolled back and you wailed, your words becoming fumbled and making no sense. She chuckled as you wrapped your legs around her hips and finished coming on her slick-covered cock.
She brushed your hair out of your face and whispered softly again, “Now I’m sure you have my baby.”
Her joke made you cringe but you smiled as she kissed your forehead and held you close.

Teach Me: Sugar and Spice
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ariel rolled over in bed and groaned softly. The last few days she had been feeling nauseous. Jack had to even pick her up from the school early because she had gotten sick in the restroom. At first she figured it was just the flu but now on day 4 of feeling sick, she wasn’t too sure.
She looked over and saw that her glass of water was empty but she didn’t have the energy nor strength to go down to the kitchen to get more. Jack couldn’t do it because he was currently gone as he was at the studio.
Just as she found the strength to get up she immediately jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. Ariel had barely got to the toilet in time before she threw up everywhere.
Once she finally got it all out of her system, she stood up and went to the medicine cabinet to see if she had anything to soothe her stomach.
As she was rambling through the cabinet, a cold chill ran through her body at the sight of an unopened pack of tampons.
Fuck.
She couldn’t remember the last time she had her period. Any other time she wouldn’t think much of it as her period was normally irregular but with the way she’s been feeling lately she knew something was up.
Ariel closed the cabinet and looked at herself in the mirror. Before she had gotten sick she had noticed her body felt different, she couldn’t figure out what it was. If she really is pregnant then that would explain why.
She turned to the side to get a different view. Ariel could be imagining it but her stomach did look a bit rounder.
Like most women she always dreamed of becoming a mom. She likes to think that she became a mom the day she met Jayla. Once officially becoming her mom, she didn’t even think of having some of her own. Now that she could possibly be pregnant, she was scared shitless.
And she still had to tell Jack.
***
“I’m telling you dude, she’s acting weird.” Jack said as he leaned back in the studio chair, nervously biting on his toothpick.
Urban was quiet for a moment before speaking, “Well, did your dumbass make her mad?”
Jack just glared at him. “No! I can’t even remember the last time we argued. Literally everything has been great.” He thought for a minute trying to think if anything had changed in the last couple weeks. He had been working more lately. Finally writing songs for himself and not other artists.
“She probably feels neglected? I haven’t been home much. Maybe she just misses me and doesn’t know how to tell me?!” Jack said, biting his lip nervously.
“Hm, maybe you should—“ Urban couldn’t even finish speaking before Jack jumped up suddenly from his chair. “Imma go home.” Jack said as he started grabbing his things.
“I gotta plan a date night. Something crazy, huge display of my love for her…”
“Jack…”
Jack ignored him as he had a phone pressed to his ear. “Hey, how soon can you guys deliver flowers?” Urban heard him say as he watched his best friend rush out the door.
All Urban could do was shake his head but smiled knowing that Jack had a huge surprise waiting for him at home. He pulls his phone out of his pocket to warn Ariel.
“The eagle has left the nest.”
Ariel giggled as she made sure everything was in place. She was so nervous but stupidly excited. As soon as she got to their shared bedroom she heard Jack call out to her, she covered her mouth to stay quiet. Not wanting to ruin the surprise and waited for him to find her.
***
Jack rushed through the door with flowers in his hands. “BABE! I’m home” he yelled and quickly kicked off his shoes. He frowned when he didn’t hear a reply back. Closing the front door, he stopped in his tracks when he saw a note taped to the door.
“Welcome home, baby! Let’s play a game. Kick off those new balances and go find your glasses for your first clue.”
Jack smiled reading the note, and took long strides to his office to find the first clue, it didn’t take long to find the next note as his glasses were sitting right on top.
“Woo hoo, You found me! Go to the kitchen and find the bottle of bourbon and then text Urban for the next clue. Ask nicely, or he might not come through.”
Jack immediately pulled his phone out to text Urban as he made his way to the kitchen.
“What is she planning?” He texted first, and rolled his eyes when he saw Urban read the message but didn’t respond.
“Ok, fine. What’s the next clue?” Jack wasn’t surprised when Urban texted him back quickly.
“Drinking this will help make you…”
“Huh?” Jack says out loud, just as he was about to text Urban back, another message came through. “It rhymes with Hocus Pocus, you idiot!”
A lightbulb went off in his head as he walked to the food closet and found his cases of Phocus with another clue on top.
“I can’t wait till you find me so I can give you some lovin’ but first I think something is baking in the oven.”
Jack’s eyes furrowed slightly as he closed the door of the closet and walked back towards the kitchen to open the oven door. He smiled wide when he saw a donut bouquet similar to the one he got her many moons ago on Valentine’s Day. He placed the donuts on the counter and read the note attached to them.
“You’re almost there! When you wear this everyone stops and stares with a gasp. To put me on, just fasten the clasp.
His Kentucky chain was his first thought as he quickly climbed the stairs to his dressing room where he kept all his jewelry. On top of the jewelry box was what he assumed was one last note. “To the best husband..”
Jack opened the letter and his breath got stuck in his throat as he read the next line. “…and soon to be a father of three.”
He turned around when he heard movement behind him, Ariel was standing behind him holding an ultrasound, happy tears streaming down her face.
Jack spoke first, “You’re…?” Ariel nodded.
She began to get nervous when she noticed his face start to turn pale. “Jack?”
Jack shook his head so the color could come back to his face, and he rushed over, lifting Ariel up in the air in excitement.
“JACK!” Ariel sequels holding on to him tight as he spins her around. He finally places her back down on the ground. Jack grabs the side of her face before giving her a big kiss.
After pulling away, he drops to his knees and places a hand on her stomach. “There’s two babies in there.” He said, sounding choked up.
“It’s crazy, huh?”
Jack simply nodded and pressed kisses all around her bump that the average person could hardly see.
“Thank you for making me a mother again.” Ariel said with a happy sigh, and she ran her fingers through his curls.
Jack who was still on his knees, placing feather light kisses on her stomach, squeezed her tighter. Again was the key word. After all these years together, hearing Ariel talk about Jayla like she was her own will forever warm his heart.
“I love you, I’m so happy we get to go on this ride together.” Jack said getting to his feet, Ariel wrapped her arms around his neck.
“3 down, 5 more to go.”
“There’s no way in hell 5 more are coming out of me”
Both of their blissfull laughs rung through the air as they enjoy this moment together

Birds of a Feather- A Bradshaw Sibling Story
Chapter 1- Welcome to the World Baby Girl
Carole, still reeling from the loss of Goose, isn't sure how to feel when she learns she is pregnant. Thankfully she has the support of two Navy pilots to help her welcome her newest addition to the world and a certain blue eyed Lieutenant ends up being a surprising rock at her side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notes: Once I get through the background information, this story will be told in a more story-like format (with conversations and better descriptions etc). Right now I just want to get you all to the point that movie begins with all the history (and drama) I've given these characters.
Welcome to the World Baby Girl
When Carole Bradshaw finally starts recognizing the signs of pregnancy, seven weeks after burying her husband, her first instinct is to just cry. She had been doing that a lot lately, barely able to make it to her son Bradley’s bedtime before she sobs deep and hard into Goose’s pillow. Now though, as she recognizes the churn of her upset stomach as not the flu but morning sickness, she has to fight the urge to not collapse to the kitchen floor right then and there. Bradley, oblivious to his mother’s struggles in the way only a small child can be, plays with his cereal, spooning the cheerios happily as he manages to forget once more what Carole herself can never; that Goose is never coming home again.
Carole has never thought of herself as a particularly strong woman but she concedes that perhaps she is tougher than she thinks. She keeps herself together, encourages her four year old son to eat instead of play with his food and manages to wait until a reasonable hour in the late morning to phone her sister and ask her to babysit for the day. Her sister Judy agrees immediately; all of her family in the walking on eggshells stage of caution around her that Carole is pretty confident she could ask them to help her commit a robbery and they would be there in masks just to never have to tell her no. She appreciates it, when she doesn’t find it maddening, but on a day like today she is particularly grateful.
After Bradley is dropped at his Aunt’s, Carole drives two towns over to pick up pregnancy tests. It’s not that she is ashamed, not at all, but their town in Western Pennsylvania is small and gossip travels fast. Carole might be stronger than she thinks but she knows she’s not strong enough for the rumors to start without knowing if she’s carrying or not. Besides, the possibility of carrying her late husband’s child could be a precious gift, something she won’t risk tarnishing by letting it out before she is certain.
She scours the shelves of the small pharmacy she stops at, pretends that she is there for the gummy bears she grabs for Bradley and the lotion she picks up for herself. Carole heads to the women’s aisle and finds the ClearBlue boxes, remembering when she heard about at-home pregnancy tests a few years ago and how she found the concept completely mind-blowing. Now she is thankful as she grabs three boxes and heads to checkout, gratified that the woman at the cash register clocks her wedding ring and smiles a good luck as she grabs her bags to leave.
She heads home and follows the directions to the letter, though the young blonde has never been known as a rule follower before. Energetic, fun, life of the party, if Carole took a moment to really think about it, she would realize that she not only lost her husband but a part of herself as well that day; the part that smiled and danced, that hooted in excitement regardless of her audience, the part that lived for joy as easy as one lives for breath; but that was all gone now, even more so when she noticed all three tests coming up with the same result.
She was pregnant.
Tears come, as she knew they would, and Carole isn’t sure if she should be horrified that she still isn’t sure if this is what she wants. One more piece of Nicholas Bradshaw should be the greatest gift in the world, but a baby growing up without a father also seems the cruelest. Is it fair for Carole to bring a baby into this life when she herself is already so close to floundering? Is it blasphemy to even think of not having this baby? Carole knows it’s up to her, that no one else in this world can make this decision for her, that no one can judge her for what she decides do as well. She clutches Goose’s wedding that she has moved to wear on a chain around her neck and places her other hand on her abdomen. It’s too early for kicks or to feel any movement, but Carole does experience a sort of calm tranquility as she stands in her bathroom in the silence, her hands connecting her past with her future. Goose always wanted a big family, had cried like a baby when they first learned they were expecting Bradley. He would want this child more than life itself, would have given his life willingly if he knew it would give her this blessing. Carole pictures a little baby, with Goose’s nose and smile, her husband’s amber eyes staring back at her as she rocks the newborn in her arms. It will never bring Nick back, will never lessen the pain of his loss, but maybe, just maybe, it can create some love with it too.
Everything moves quickly from there.
Carole tells her family first and more tears come. It’s different this time though, she can already tell, the grief still pressing but also lifting just that tiniest bit, her mother’s tight squeezes as they cry together healing in a way she wasn’t expecting. For a moment she feels traitorous, as though she is ignoring Nick’s death with the preoccupation of the growing baby in her body, but soon she realizes that perhaps this was Nick’s gift for her all along, something to help her through.
She tells Goose’s parents next and if she had any thoughts of not going through with the pregnancy, they die the minute Henry and Margaret fall upon their living room floor and hold each other, thanking her for telling them and begging Carole to let them help in any way they can. They spend the rest of her trip to Tennessee alternating between taking Bradley around their farm and making sure Carole doesn’t lift a finger, each sparing glances to her still flat belly when they think she’s not looking. It’s overwhelming at times but also weirdly comforting, Carole feeling closer to her in-laws than she ever felt before. She mentions her comfort of this type of living when the topic of Carole putting up her home in Pennsylvania for sale. The blonde isn’t surprised when the elder Bradshaws immediately offer her space on their land to live with Bradley and the new baby. It’s a kind offer, more generous than she could really say, but she declines.
She knows where she needs to make her new home.
Her family didn’t understand when she told them she plans to buy a house right outside of North Island and from the way Margaret’s face pales and Henry grows silent, it seems the Bradshaws don’t understand either. Carole expects this, she appreciates why this would seem so strange to everyone else, but the young mother can’t imagine bringing another child into this world and being so far away from her husband’s final resting place. Nick is in North Island, in a military cemetery not far from the waters he died in, from the air he flown in; Carole owes it to her children and her husband to not keep them any further apart than fate has already made them.
The move cross-country might break her, but it will be her cross to bear.
The bungalow she buys is small but homey, and perfect for the neighborhood they choose. It has the cutest garden, that Carole immediately starts to plant the most vibrant flowers she can, and a porch swing that she has a kind neighbor check its integrity of before it becomes her and Bradley’s favorite spot to watch the sunsets. As for the house itself, it has three bedrooms, one for each of the now remaining (and soon to be arriving) Bradshaws and is close enough to the beach that she and Bradley can walk every day across the sand. Her son loves it. His hair, which slowly starts to darken despite being consistently in the California sun, is always in a perpetual state of curly unrest from the sea breeze, his body tracking sand everywhere in their home. Carole only laughs, even when her stomach starts to swell and it gets harder to clean up all the time. Bradley has taken to the idea of a sibling remarkably well, all things considering, though he is sure in the way only a four year old can be when he pats at her stomach and asks how his little brother is. Carole decided not to find out the sex, not ready to see if she is getting a Nick or a Nicole, the names already decided as they feel only right.
During this time she wonders if she should tell Maverick. He writes her when he can, sending the letters to the family’s old address that her sister is kind enough to forward, but Carole makes sure to not tell him anything about what she is really going through, bringing a baby into this world alone. It’s not that she doesn’t trust Pete or that she doesn’t want him to know per say, she just doesn’t want to make him think he needs to take care of her. He’s young, so young, and though he feels responsible for what happened to Goose that day, Carole wasn’t lying when she told the pilot she didn’t blame him. She doesn’t, and she never will. She knew just as much as Goose did about the risks he took each day. Pointing fingers or tossing blame didn’t bring the man back; it just pushed those who remained away.
The problem with Pete Mitchell was that the man was a lot like a puppy who enjoyed punishing himself. She saw it when they first met and the kid was weighed down with the guilt of his father’s service records, and she saw it after Goose was declared deceased and Pete expected her to smack him instead of embrace him in a hug. Carole knew that if she told Maverick about the baby Pete would think it was his duty to put everything on hold and be at her side and she couldn’t ask him to do that. It wasn’t his responsibility, best friend or not. He deserved to live his life; he deserved to move on.
But sometimes life doesn’t let you make those decisions.
In her seventh month, Carole gets a knock on the door and opens to reveal one Iceman Kazansky in his service khaki’s. The man’s blue eyes immediately stalked down to her growing belly and his lips purse before he snaps himself out of his thoughts and meet her gaze. It seems he had come to apologize for his own actions that day, explaining that if he had moved out of the way quicker than Mav wouldn’t have been caught in his jetwash, ultimately leading to the spiral that forced both Pete and Nick to eject. Carole listens silently, allowing the man to get all his feelings out before she tells him the same thing she told Mav: she doesn’t blame him.
For all the coldness of his reputation, Ice gives a sharp nod before allowing just the barest of tears to fall, though he wipes the evidence away quickly. He stands then, expecting to be asked to leave now that he has said his peace but Carole just offers him to stay for dinner. The man accepts before she even finishes her statement. She expects some awkwardness but there is none to be found, Tom is nothing but a gentleman and the perfect guest, even taking the time to play with Bradley as the child shows the pilot all his favorite toy planes.
When dinner is over and Tom finishes washing and drying the dishes he insists on doing, he finally brings up Pete’s status. Carole had listened to the tall blonde pilot talk vaguely about the Leyton mission during their meal, classified though, so beyond saying it got a little close and Maverick had to come to his aid, Kazansky had stayed mum on the true details. Much different than Maverick, who discussed the mission at length in one of his prior letters, not adhering to secrets any better now than he ever did before, much to Carole’s amusement.
Tom takes the seat across from her at the now cleared table, fingers steeple in front of his lips. He is a patient man, she gages that just from this one night of interactions and Carole can tell that he chooses his words carefully. Finally, when he is ready, Tom tells her the truth, that despite getting over his trepidations in the sky, Pete was struggling again, finding himself in the rambunctious death-be-damned stage of mortality that leads to reckless actions and tragic conclusions. Tom was worried before but he is anxious now, admitting to Carole that he came to the house not only to apologize for his actions on the day that Goose died but also to ask the blonde for her help in reign Maverick in, afraid that no one else could be up for the task. Carole knows she has the right to say no, that no one could blame her if she was to say she has too much on her plate as it is to try and save a renegade 25 year old pilot with enough issues that he could fill the sky he flies in, but she also knows she loves Pete, he’s the little brother she always wanted, and she won’t let the universe take him away too. She tells Tom to give her his number.
A week and one overly emotional reunion later, Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell becomes a permanent fixture back in their lives. He’s stationed at Top Gun again so it’s easy for him to be at their house for dinner every night, pulling a reluctant Iceman with him; an ecstatic Bradley more than happy to welcome them both with open arms. Carole feels as though maybe she was wrong not to tell the younger man about the pregnancy right away as he takes one look at the not yet built nursery furniture and he and Ice roll up their sleeves; building everything themselves in record time and then hanging model planes in Bradley’s room as a nice surprise for the future big brother. They become a family, the five and a half of them; dysfunctional in their abnormally but aren’t those always the best?
As her third trimester progresses either Pete or Tom is there for every one of her doctor’s appointments, sometimes even both go, earning her skeptical looks from some of the other patients and nurses that don’t know her whole story. She doesn’t care; Carole has never been one to desire people’s approvals, and she welcomes the Naval Aviators’ dual support as the realness of becoming a single mother to two children gets closer and closer.
But then again life deals her a harsh hand.
Pete is fired from his position with Ice teaching at Top Gun. If it didn’t hurt so much, Carole wouldn’t have been surprised; Pete is not someone that should be teaching anyone about rules or regulations, but it still wounds the pregnant blonde when he is re-deployed to a carrier in the Pacific. She wants to be angry, at him, at the Navy, at the world, but it won’t help the situation and she knows that. She’s two weeks from her due date; she has to accept that Pete won’t be at her side.
Tom will be though. Tom who has taken to her family as easy as Pete did all those years ago. Tom, who buys her baby clothes and toys, never forgetting to get Bradley something too so the kid never feels left out. Tom who makes her dinner when she can’t seem to stand for too long, cleans her house when she feels the anxiety of nesting deep in her chest, and entertains her crying tantrums about how she misses Nick and wishes he were there.
Tom is a god sent.
Carole wondered at first why he was so willing. Guilt is powerful, but the man is giving up his whole life for her little family, without getting anything in return. Or so she thought. She comes to learn that Tom has no family of his own, his parents both passed, his mother just less than a year ago, and that besides Slider, who has also become a permanent fixture in her life now when he’s in town, Ice has no one. Wounded hearts tend to find each other and Carole is happy to open her home to one more lost soul, if only to heal them all.
Her water breaks on the beach of all places, as she stops to pick up a seashell and Bradley laughs that mommy peed her pants. It’s only the two of them of course; Ice teaching for the day, so Carole walks herself and Bradley back to their little house and manages to call 911 and the air base Ice is stationed. A neighbor she has gotten close to takes Bradley to play with their own children and Carole is loaded into the ambulance alone. She tries to hold in the emotions when the nice paramedic holds her hand through the contractions, tries to pretend it’s Nick, or even Pete or Tom and not this virtual stranger, but the sobs roll easily, the heighten hormones leaving her gasping in their intensity.
She is brought to a room and encouraged to relax, treated like a first time mom though she’s been through this before. Carole figures in a way this is like a first; Nick was at her side all through Bradley’s labor and delivery, cracking dumb jokes to make her laugh and promising her that she could kill him later for the pain his actions put her through. She remembered threatening a lot of bodily harm, even a threat to cut off a body part but the minute Bradley was placed in her arms she only felt love. Pure, unadulterated love in its strongest form. Would it be the same this time? Would she be moved to bliss like she was the first time she gave birth? Or would this poor little baby be placed in a crying mother’s arms, a mother filled with grief and pain? Was it fair of her to do this?
Carole doesn’t have time to dwell on those thoughts because Tom arrives then, flustered and out of breath like the normally composed man never seems to be. He zeroes in on Carole, seems to recognize her barest attempt at keeping herself together, and just goes right to her side. His hand grabs hers and squeezes, as though he hopes to transfer all the strength he holds in his muscles to her, as though he is willing to transfer his very life himself if only to help her through this. Carole manages a smile, albeit a small one since a contraction decides this is the best moment to strike, as she looks to the blond pilot next to her and thanks him for being here at her side. Tom only says there is nowhere else he’s rather be.
Tom is the rock at her side through it all. He calls her neighbors to check on Bradley and informs not only her own parents but Nick’s as well about how the labor is going. They all try to catch the next available flights but they won’t make it in time, something that Ice has the good graces to not correct her on when Carole foolishly hopes her mother will be in California in time for the baby’s arrival. Tom even manages to get a message out to Mav, using some favors he stockpiled to have the call made through all the way in the middle of the ocean. There’s nothing Pete can do from the ship but it still brings a little relief to Carole’s jumble of emotions that at least the dark haired pilot knows what’s going on.
As the hours progress, Carole expects Tom to leave but he never does. He takes a few breaks to relieve himself or take a second to sit but otherwise he’s with her through it all, though he makes sure that Carole knows if she wants that to change, if his presence isn’t welcome, he will leave at her slightest hint. It warms the blonde woman’s heart in a way she can’t imagine feeling, this man devoting so much to her and she rewards him by just holding his hand tighter. Carole asks Tom to tell her stories, anything to get her mind off the pain and the wait and Tom, though preferring silence and listening, spends hours telling stories about his beloved mother Emily. He admits that Carole reminds him of her, perhaps being why he clung so much to her and her little family, and how the pilot will never forgive himself for not being at his mother’s side in the end. When she sees tears in the man’s eyes, Carole doesn’t call attention to it, instead allowing Ice to pretend he is going for another coffee, instead of getting some air to get out of his own memories.
She’s in labor for 18 hours, pushing for two when the doctors start to contemplate a c-section. It’s the last thing Carole wants, and she tries to tell everyone in the room her opinions on the matter, but no one seems to be listening. Finally it takes her trying to physically get herself out of the bed for the doctor to allow a half hour more of pushing before they make the call. Determined now, Carole pushes with renewed vigor, burning up a sweat as she clenches and tightens her muscles trying to get this baby out.
When finally the pushing starts to work and the doctor lets her know that the time has come and the head of her baby is visible, Carole doubles down and uses every ounce of energy she has left to get this baby out. The pain is unimaginable, worse than she remembers with Bradley, though she’s not sure if it’s also from the ache of her broken heart that is making everything throb harder. She screams as loud as she can each time, so loud that she can’t even hear the doctor’s words from below her, but Carole can make out Tom’s voice over the white noise of it all. His tone is calm, almost commanding, though his icy blue eyes look widened and wild as he watches the miracle of childbirth right before his eyes.
Tom continues a mantra of how strong Carole is and how she’s almost done, how the baby is almost here when the call for one last big push is announced to the room. Carole yells as roughly as her body can managed, squeezes Tom’s hand with a pressure that feels like it could crack bone, and finally pushes with all her might when suddenly all the pressure that has been bearing down on her is relieved with a sudden clarity. The cries of a newborn join Carole’s own as the woman can’t seem to figure out if she’s happy or sad as tears run down her cheeks. Her limbs are so exhausted yet the blonde still manages to start flailing as she’s unsure if she’s grabbing for her baby or running away from it. She doesn’t move from the bed though, she physically can’t, and when the tiny human is placed on her chest, covered in blood but so very alive, Carole sobs as she realizes she has a daughter. Welcome to the world baby girl, is all she can think as she filled with the same love she had with Bradley and the same protectiveness. She is willing to do anything for this baby in her arms, this beautiful gift from Nick that she has been blessed to receive. She never wants to let her go.
Unfortunately, chest to chest only lasts a few minutes before the baby is taken away from its mother to be checked over. Carole moans when the little weight is removed from her hold and she looks up to see Ice’s eyes follow her daughter’s movements with the same worry Carole herself is experiencing. She urges Tom to follow the baby, and the man nods, stepping across the room to watch the clean up and weighing of the newest addition to the world. He is silent, eyes icy, posture straight and imposing, and Carole knows that her daughter will have a protector in Lieutenant Kazansky until the end of time. It’s not the same as a father, nothing will ever be, but it still warms her heart.
Carole doesn’t realize she’s crying again until Ice comes back over, wiping her checks easily and then grabbing a new towel to dry the sweat off her brow. He has been unfazed by everything she has thrown at him this day. Her tears, her screams, and her cries not scaring him but instead making him compliment her strength and resilience. Even now he congratulates her on her good job, on what she has managed to do, but Carole finds it hard to listen. A part of her wants to shove his hands off because he’s not the man that should be at her side, but another relishes in the touch, in the companionship, in not being alone.
She cries again as the overwhelming need to hold her daughter returns. She needs to hold her; she needs to see something of her husband before she rips out her own hair. The nurse brings a tiny bundle back, her daughter clean now and much quieter. She places the baby right on Carole’s chest once more and smiles, congratulating both Carole and Tom and informing them the baby is perfectly healthy. Carole sucks in a sob, taking in the widened eyes and soft lips of this beautiful baby girl in front of her. She can’t stop staring, can’t stop looking for the similarities between this baby and Nick, and can’t stop the tears at the similar nose as though it is the greatest gift she could ever receive. After what must be a few minutes but only feels like seconds, a new nurse informs Carole that she needs to be cleaned up before she is brought to a room, asking if Dad wants to hold the baby while they work on getting mommy settled. Carole immediately breaks down into harder sobs, to the point her baby is removed in fear she could hurt her with the way Carole’s full stomach constricts with her emotions. The nurse looks confusingly over at Ice and sees that the man has blanched and paled, looking guilt as though it is his fault that such assumptions of the baby’s paternity was made.
Before anyone else can react, Carole’s mother enters the room in scrubs, having blown more money than she ever spent in her life to get to her daughter as quickly as possible. Carole cries anew at the sight of her mother, and Tom uses the distraction to slip out of the room, sure that he is not needed anymore. He doesn’t leave the hospital though, staying in the waiting room until Ann Kramer (Carole’s mother) comes outside and inform Ice that Carole and the baby are both fine and resting; mommy in her room and baby in the nursery. Ann gives Tom the tightest hug her small frame can manage and thanks him profusely for everything, saying how Carole admitted tearfully that she would have been lost without him.
Tom brushes off the praise easily enough, just happy that all the Bradshaws are doing well. He offers to relieve Bradley from the neighbors, knowing the little boy must be worried about where everyone went. Ann looks thankful and then says she should get back, no doubt wanting to help her daughter through the emotional gauntlet her hormones are probably raging within her. She heads back to Carole’s room and Tom moves towards the elevators before he decides to take a pit stop before he heads to the Bradshaw home.
He finds the nursery easily, standing by the glass window at the few babies housed inside. Tom spots the Bradshaw baby easily, her face already memorized to him; not needing the card to tell him which one she is. There was a tiny tuff of brown hair when the little girl was born, but it is covered now in her newborn cap, her body wrapped up just as snuggly in the hospital issued blanket. Her eyes are closed and her little face peaceful, creating an image of angelic serenity in a sea of hospital craziness. Tom knows he might never see another image so beautiful in his life, perhaps only if God grants him the miracle of having his own kid, but even then he’s not sure. He is so in awe of this child in front of him, so in awe of the strength of her mother, of how life can be so cruel and yet so kind to the same people. Tom finds that he loves the little baby slumbering in the nursery with every part of his heart, as though she was her own. He will protect her for life, feels he has to, and finally Ice begins to understand what Pete meant when he explained his own feelings of love and protectiveness with Bradley. Both Bradley and his new little sister have experienced the suffocating loss of a parent at the youngest of ages, it is the rest of the world’s duty to not let them drown from this loss, and Tom intends to exert this job until the end of his days.
Then his eyes catch the name card.
He knew Carole wanted to name the baby Nick for a boy and Nicole for a girl after their father, and there on the card is the name Nicole.
But there’s another name in front of it.
It seems his stories about his mother made some kind of impact because the name Emily Nicole Bradshaw is written in a lovely print right there on the basinet in the nursery. The sight of it takes Tom’s breath away. The letters in Emily are purple and swirling in a whimsical way that reminds Tom of a princess in the fairy tales his mother always loved to read to him. His heart pings with the ache of remembering his mother, and of the gratitude towards Carole for giving him this tiny gift. She had already mentioned him being godfather, a title he was beyond honored to be asked for despite the fact he didn’t think he was worth of, but this, this little name for this little girl, was the most amazing present Tom could have ever received in his life. He doesn’t think he can ever thank Carole enough.
Knowing the best way to start is to make sure her son is just as safe and taken care of as the rest of the family, the blond pilot decides to take his leave. Tom takes one more glance at the sleeping beauty resting peaceful within the basket before he heads for the exit of the hospital, his own tears falling silently upon his stoic face.
He looks up naturally to the sky once he’s outside, sees the warm halo of the sunshine above and hopes that Nick Bradshaw is up there, looking down on his family. “I promise I’ll always protect her” Tom says aloud, not carrying if anyone else hears as long as the WSO can. “I promise I’ll always protect all of them” he amends and then, as though someone is actually listening or perhaps his exhaustion decides to play tricks, the sun seems to get brighter. Taking it as a sign, Ice smiles and continues to his car, hopeful that Goose approves of his new vows.
Notes: So now we see the start of Emily and her godfather Ice. I love writing a soft Tom and IcePops is going to be a growing theme in this story. Thank you for reading and let me know what you think!

Part 1
Summary: After coming to Eridia to hopefully find a way to rid of your curse and hid your pregnancy, you meet a very sassy doctor who’s set on protecting you and your unborn child
Warnings for the story: MC will be kept gender neutral but will be afab, if pregnancy makes you uncomfortable I do not recommend reading this, nausea/vomiting, blood, a bit of gore, mentions of a possible miscarriage, a lot of conversations about babies, MC being conflicted on whether or not to keep the baby, risky pregnancy, manipulation & gaslighting at some point, fighting, Leander being interested in the MC, the hound!MC, will be a bit smutty at some point, plot is different from the game, will add more if needed
Word count: 1.5k
Author’s note: This idea came to me after I remember being on a discord call with my friend and her saying “Will be his baby mama”
Also, MC is about 18-19 weeks pregnant here.

You don’t know how long you’ve been running. Has it been only seconds? Minutes? The adrenaline coursing your body has caused you to honestly lose track, but all that can go through your mind at the moment is getting away from here as fast as possible.
After causing an innocent man to succumb to the wretched thing that is your curse, you were left alone. With the rest of the people you were traveling with all being killed by soulless, it was only you that was currently hurrying to the city known as Eridia. But even then, it seemed the gods weren’t on your side.
In front of you stood a soulless who was about twice your size, claws as big as swords, with a glare filled with pure hunger. And before you know it, the monster slashed its claws at you, severing your arm before you even had the time to process it.
Even as you were writhing in pain, every muscle in your body was screaming at you to run, fight, do something, protect yourself and the baby. But as you stood, you figured you only had one option. Attempting to somehow get past the soulless, and you could only pray that both of you would be okay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Slowly opening your eyes, you're met with a white ceiling. In all honesty if you hadn’t picked up on the sound of fire crackling, you would’ve assumed you were dead.
Out of instinct you took your left hand and placed it over your stomach, even though you were still early into the pregnancy, you thought if you kept your hand there, then maybe you could feel them.
But that only made you quickly pull your hand up, suddenly remembering that your arm was severed off by the soulless before you went unconscious.
“Do try to be careful, your injuries are still fresh.” A deep, smooth voice calls out to you.
Slowly turning over to your side, you're met with the appearance of a fairly young looking man with long, dark brown hair. But what caught your eye was his white clothing adorned with golden accessories. Which looked far too nice considering the environment.
“....Where am I?” Were the only words you could manage to muster out. The man continued to hold his gaze, before a small smile grazed his face and he set down the book he was holding. He stands up and that’s only when you notice how tall he is, sure he was lean but he was at most 6 '6.
He then walked over to where some other medical supplies were sitting, assumingly sorting some of it while he started speaking again.
“Your clothes were in shreds when I found you, but I was able to create some replacements.” He was dodging the question, but for some reason you couldn’t bring yourself to question it. But even then, before you could he turned around holding a new set of clothing, so he wasn’t lying.
Staring at him again for a few more seconds, you grab the clothing and he takes it as a que to give you some space to change.
Not that long later, you're fully dressed and making any adjustments you can, even having enough time to wrap up your arms once again. But in the middle of you pulling at the outfit, your hands begin drifting towards your stomach yet again. This time many questions are circling through your mind.
“Was this the right decision?”
“Will I even be able to take care of them? In this condition?”
“Will it even be worth it keeping them? If I possibly won’t be able to provide?...”
But in the midst of your racing thoughts, the man suddenly returns, this time holding a small bottle of..something, you could only assume it was some kind of strange medicine. He walks over to one of the counters and sets the bottle down, before turning back to you and resting one of his hands behind his back.
“I assume they fit well?” He says while taking a quick second to look over you.
“They do…a bit loose but, but I am more grateful that you were willing to make them for me” You say quietly before shooting him a soft smile.
“Hmmm….I would hope that they would be loose, considering your….situation.” Upon saying that his eyes land directly on your midsection, and even though you feel your heart drop, you know now that there is dodging back from this.
Quickly straightening yourself back up, you do your best to size him up, crossing your arms and lifting your head higher. “And what situation are you exactly speaking of?”
He raises an eyebrow in response, a look of both amusement and surprise written on his face. “Well…I am a doctor, it should be easy for me to tell if a patient is carrying a child, no?”
Shit.
Being left with no choice you put your guard down, uncrossing your arms and letting your head drop. He notices this and softens his gaze. “If you were afraid I’d do anything to you or your child, fret not, if you were in danger you would’ve known.” He continued on.
Even though you had just met the man, you couldn’t help but to feel a sense of…safety around him, as if your body knew you could trust his words, even if your mind was still a bit skeptical.
After nodding in response to his reassurance, you decide to take a step closer to where you can place your arms on the wooden table, leaning against it as you raise your head again to meet his questioning gaze.
“I came here because I want to…get rid of something, and even though that something probably won’t be this child…I’m still left a bit conflicted on what I should do…” You say hesitantly. As if the words were fighting against you, still somewhat untrusting of the man in front of you.
He pauses for a second, contemplating what you just said. Before he raises his head again and gestures to you to follow him towards the door. You quickly sit up again, grabbing your small bag of coins and walking with him.
“If you want help with getting “rid” of something…then I know someone who can help you help you.” As he continues talking he inches towards the door, opening it and allowing the sound of people walking down the stone streets while talking.
“Go to a bar called the Wet Wick, and look for Leander, and tell him Kuras sent you.” Upon hearing his name you pause, because now that you remember, you never did ask for his name.
“Your name is..Kuras?” You say with a hint of surprise in your voice
“Yes? I hope it’s not too much on the tongue.” He lightly laughs
That causes you to form a soft smile on your face, a little glad that the tense atmosphere has lifted a bit. “No it’s fine, I just never recalled asking for your name, I apologize.”
Kuras, in response, smiles back at you. And it was then you were able to take a moment to admire his features, and you had to admit…he was extremely handsome. The lights of his clinic added a light shine to his golden eyes, while also highlighting his brown skin.
“Well I suggest you get going, I do have other patients to attend too.” He holds the door open for you, letting you walk out and down the short flight of stares.
You then turn around to look at him again, and for a small moment you catch him looking at you again, before he closes the door, now leaving you on your own. You stand there for a moment, before remembering what you were told to do in the first place.
Beginning to walk down the busy streets, you start looking around at the different signs on all of the buildings. Searching for the one Kuras was talking about. And although it has led to getting bumped into a few times, you never stop looking.
Hopefully….he can help me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a long walk around, searching for the damned bar, you finally find it. Sitting in a corner of the end of a long street filled with vendors and other small businesses. A part of you was honestly considering flopping down and passing out, but you knew that you had to keep moving. You were also wondering if the mass fatigue was due to the baby, most likely causing you to have less endurance and energy than you usually did.
The loud sound of people laughing, and you assumed glasses clinking together, quickly took over your ears. And for a moment you reconsider your choice, the thought of a huge group of people possibly finding out about your curse making you worry, but you forcefully put your thoughts aside, remembering that Kuras told you whoever that this Leander man was could be the one to finally free you from this wretched thing.
Well….here goes nothing.
Author’s note: I apologize if this was a little bland, I promise I will try to make it more interesting as the chapters go on. But with that said, part 2 coming soon! ^-^

Magic certainly had its benefits. You were completely not complaining when it enhanced yours and lady Lesso's sex life. Lesso had surprised you one night by enchanting her strap on, recreating a realistic cock. Neither of you had done this before so neither of you knew that you could very well get pregnant. It was no surprise really, with the amount of times you were both brought over the edge that night that you were in fact caught pregnant that very night.
You remember telling Leonora, she went through a flurry of emotions in the space of a minute. After the realisation hit she lit up in an unmatched happiness. You were pregnant with her child. Something she never thought would be possible. All the dirty thoughts she'd spewed that night about making you pregnant and how amazing you'd look carrying her child would come true. That night you both celebrated, all night long. Just basking in the love you shared with one another, Leonora becoming more gentle with your body, not wanting to hurt you or the baby. You couldn't help but giggle at her cuteness and remind her that she wouldn't hurt either of you.
Your pregnancy had been a little rough at the start. Your morning sickness was crazy but Leonora was amazing with you. Dealing with your mood swings and cravings. She seemed to enjoy every moment with you and this pregnancy. When you started to show she would make sure to stand behind you, hands cradling your bump stroking gently. If there was anything you had learned from this was your girlfriend had the most loving caring side but it was rare that she showed it, perhaps your child would be the one to soften her around others.
On your twentieth week of pregnancy, you were offered to find out the gender. Before you even had the chance to respond to the question, Leonora was quick to affirm that you both indeed wished to know. Your breath hitched as tears filled in your eyes. A girl. A beautiful baby girl, that was yours and Leonora's. Perfect. You knew she would be. Knowing now you knew her name. You knew that you'd love this precious girl more than life itself.
Lesso was noticing how frustrated you were becoming at yourself. Your growing belly was beginning to make life more difficult. You're back ached, your ankles swelled up and truly it felt like breathing was getting hard. Lesso, loved to tell you the science behind it, that your organs were moving up slightly to accommodate your baby. Truly, you knew that. But you craved your independence back and often found yourself upset at the thought your body wouldn't be the same again. Would lesso still want you?
Around the seven month mark, you'd completely given up. Lesso wanted you, and you wanted her, your pregnant belly getting in the way of things meant you didn't get that kind of intimacy anymore. You didn't want Leonora to see you while you were unable to keep up on your personal grooming. Deep down you knew she didn't care and you knew she wild gladly help you shave if you asked her to. But the thought of admitting defeat, admitting your stomach was so big now you couldn't see your toes, truly upset you and made you feel like a failure. Something so simple and yet you couldn't do it. And that's why you'd been a foul mood for the past week until Lesso worked out the problem.
You had a routine, every evening Lesso would draw you a nice warm bubble bath, sometimes even adding rose petals or scents to it. You settled into the water, letting the heat working to soothe your achy muscles. With a happy sigh, you lay there tracing your bump and talking to your daughter, you were completely lost in your own mind to the point you didn't realise your girlfriend has joined the room. She listened as you told your daughter a story of you and her other mother, recognising it as your first date, and smiled. Truly you'd be a wonderful mother, the stubbornness you were exhibiting now would be used to keep your daughter safe.
"Sweetheart? Pop a leg up on the side of the tub" she murmured startling you slightly. Your daughter kicking excitedly at her other mothers voice. "Leo, not happening" you whispered eyes closed as you soaked in the movement of your daughter. "Darling, let me help you"
"No Leo. I'm ugly and fat. You aren't seeing me like this" she sated your stubbornness coming through. Only then that's when you felt her join you in the bath. Where had her clothing gone? You couldn't help but ogle your girlfriend, truly she was magnificent. Leonora using it to her advantage she managed to sit you up on the side of the tub, and began to help shave your legs.
When you realised what she was doing you sobbed. Truly you felt so ugly and this act of care mixing with your hormones was just too much. As soon as she completed her task she managed to settle you back into the water. Your chest against her back as she traced patterns onto your belly. "Lilah flower mommy is so stubborn but that's a good thing because she'll protect you just like me. She loves you so much sweetheart." She murmured dropping kisses to your neck.
There in this moment you couldn't help but wonder why you were so stubborn when Lesso would do anything for you and your unborn daughter. Truly this was everything you ever dreamed of.

Ghost of You - Chapter One
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summery: Feyre and Rhysand wake up in the modern world, thousands of miles apart with no recollection of how they got here, who they are or the life they’ve left behind.
Word Count: 1750
Chapter Warnings: Memory loss, hospital setting, discussions of injury, angst
I’m so incredibly excited to share this fic with you all! I’m still very new to the whole writing thing so it certainly isn’t perfect but I really hope you all like it. Let me know what you think. ❤️
Note: Whilst this fic deals with the idea of jumping between worlds, this is considered separate from the multiverse CC/ToG crossover within SJM canon, and will deal purely with ACOTAR. This fic will be canon compliant with everything except that Feyre has not yet become pregnant with Nyx.

The girl felt nothing. Until she woke.
Incessant beeping broke through the fog that kept the young woman tethered under a blanket of sleep. Slowly stirring awake, bright lights filled her vision as she attempted to sit up but was gently pushed back down onto what felt to be an incredibly uncomfortable bed by mysterious hands.
“You’re awake!” A female voice stated somewhere to the girls left. Looking towards the sound she found the owner of the voice, a middle-aged woman with warm brown eyes and a comforting smile.
“What’s going on?” the girl rasped with a dry mouth, head throbbing and utter confusion clouding her mind. “Where am I?”
The older woman, who wore a long white coat and smart slacks, sat down in the faux leather chair by the side of the girls bed, and with her attention focused on the flustered patient before her, she began to explain.
“My name is Doctor Greene, and that over there is Detective Bailey.”
The girl noticed for the first time that someone else was in the room. A woman around the same age as Doctor Greene threw a sympathetic look in the girls direction before looking back down to her notepad.
“You are in the hospital,” Doctor Greene continued. “Someone found you passed out in the street this morning and called for an ambulance. You’ve been unconscious ever since. You have what appears to be a knife wound to your right shoulder, but we were able to patch you up without too much trouble.”
“It appears you were attacked,” Bailey informed the girl gently. “Now you’re awake I will need to take a statement from you. I know you’ve only just come to, but it’s important we get this information as soon as possible. Do you have any recollection of what happened?”
“No, I … I don’t,” the girl replied, overwhelmed as she tried to take in the weight of what she had just been told. Attacked? She didn’t remember being attacked. Come to think of it, she didn’t think she remembered anything at all.
Both Doctor Greene and Detective Bailey nodded patiently, as though they were used to a level of confusion amongst patients who’d experienced trauma, particularly when they first awoke. “Okay, well, it is possible you are experiencing some slight memory loss from the incident. The details will potentially come back to you once you’ve had a few hours to readjust,” Doctor Greene suggested, watching the girl puzzle over it in her mind.
“You were found without any belongings, so it would be safe to assume it was a robbery. However, it has meant that we have had no identification for you, so we have been unable to inform any of your emergency contacts of your whereabouts. If you let me know your name, I can find your medical records, and we can work from there,” Bailey stated matter of factly, looking towards the girl hopefully.
“No … you don’t understand! I don’t remember anything. I - I can’t even remember my own name!” The girl answered, panic starting to bubble in her chest as she frantically searched her memory for any clue of who she might be, or how she got to be here.
“Okay, take a breath, we’ll figure this out okay? You have no memories at all, nothing which could help us?” Bailey probed once more, hoping for something, anything, to work from.
“No,” the girl answered firmly. “Nothing.”
Doctor Greene reached for the girl’s left hand squeezing it gently, before glancing down and examining it thoughtfully. Looking back up at her patient with furrowed brows she mused “Well the thief might have taken some of your belongings but they did leave you with one clue,”
The anxious young woman and the detective both followed the Doctors gaze down to her left hand, which sat ideally against the stiff white bedsheets. Her skin was covered with a delicate black swirling lines, but despite her curiosity in the intricate design, it was the glimmering jewel on her ring finger which had really grabbed the rooms attention.
“That’s a hell of an engagement ring if I’ve ever seen one,” Doctor Greene stated. “Which means somewhere out there someone must be looking for you.”

The man thrashed fitfully. Until he woke.
It was dark in his dreams, and so cold. He couldn’t see through the inky black, but his other senses were heightened to the extreme. There was a sharp pain, and the metallic scent of blood. A soft hand snatched from his own. A scream.
“Rhys!” A woman shouted. A name. His name. He was sure of it. “Rhysand!” His chest. It felt like someone was cracking open his rib cage and crushing his heart with their bare hands. He couldn’t stand it. The all consuming fear. The rage. It was too much. And then he awoke.
Rhysand bolted upright, dripping in sweat, heart pounding. It had been like this for days. Ever since he regained consciousness in that damn alleyway.
Three days ago, Rhysand woke to the sight of a portly man staring down at him. The man, Doug Caldwell, was taking out the rubbish from his cafe when he stumbled across a young man in a torn suit, bleeding and unconscious. Luckily for Rhysand, Doug was an incredibly kind man. After helping him up, Doug brought Rhysand inside to wait for the police. Being a retired nurse, Doug’s wife Jenny patched up his wounds, while Doug made everyone a cup of tea.
The police tried to take a statement from Rhysand, but he remembered very little. He could only tell them three things for sure. One, was the name he was so certain was his. Rhysand, that was what the woman had cried. He had no idea what his surname was, if he had any family or friends or where he was even from, but a first name was a start. The second thing was that whilst he knew he was attacked, his vision had been compromised, so his assailant was a still a complete mystery to him. The last piece of information he had was that there was a woman there with him. The fear in her voice suggested that she was also a victim of this hidden attacker, and given the devastating ache in his chest at the memory of her voice crying out his name, she was someone important to him.
With very little to go on, the officers were concerned about their ability to track down the assailant, but with a violent person on the loose and another potential victim, they were hopeful that Rhysand would remember something more substantial, and left their details should anything come to mind.
Doug and Jenny, continuing their generosity, offered Rhysand the spare room in the apartment above the cafe, and with nowhere else to go he accepted their offer. And that is where he had been for the past three days. Despite the Caldwell’s goodwill Rhysand could not settle. The gnawing feeling that he should be somewhere else took over his entire body, and the cries of the woman in his memory rang endlessly in his ears.
His days were spent grasping at any threads to restore his memory, and his nights were consumed with the same nightmare on repeat. Rhysand tried not to fight it, the fear, hoping it would jumpstart a flurry of memories to come back to him, but so far his efforts had resulted in nothing. He could not give up though. Not knowing there was someone out there who might be in the same position as him. Not feeling the agony of the woman’s cries. It was that thought which convinced Rhysand that somehow, he had to find her. No matter what it took.
Tumblr media
The figure slid silently through the crowd to meet his master. He was slight and moved with the skill of someone used to making themselves invisible as he pushed through the heavy oak doors of the seedy tavern. Grimacing at the stickiness of the floor, the man heads directly for the furthest corner of the room. Shrouded in the shadows, his master lurked, his fingers tapping against the table with impatience.
“You are late,” he stated plainly through gritted teeth. This was not a man you wished to displease. His deep brown eyes would have seemed warm as part of a kinder face, but the sharp cut of his jaw and the scowl that permanently resided there shaped him into a cold and callous figure.
“Apologies my lord, I was caught up in the crowds.”
“So. Is it done?” he asked, pulling out a bag of coins and spilling one of the gold pieces into his hand.
“Yes, my lord,” the man replied, itching to reach out and snatch his earnings.
“Good. There were no problems?”
“They fought it as expected, and I must say the girl was a particularly vicious little thing but without doubt the spell took hold of them both.”
“And it is irreversible?” the master enquired whilst lazily flipping the coin in his hand, the hiss of the metal piercing the tension of the two men.
“Almost entirely.” the man replied quietly, not quite meeting his masters eyes.
“Almost?” He snarled, stilling the coin and clenching it within his grip.
“It is practically impossible for the spell to be reversed. Only three people have ever reversed the spell. One died centuries ago, another we have already taken care of. My best men are out scouring the continent for the last. We will find them, and then that won't be a concern. Besides, we don’t need to concern ourselves with that anyway. They’ve been dumped somewhere they’ll never find their way back from, especially without their little friends.”
“I’m beginning to think it would have been much easier to just kill them,” The master glowered.
“Easier my lord, but not conjusive to your goals. It would have … complicated matters.”
“Yes yes we’ve been over this,” He said throwing the gold coin back into the bag and sliding it across the table.
“So, when do we make our move.”
“Soon. We need to give it time. Stir the pot and let it simmer until it boils over. And then we strike.”

Note
joe and sophie were one of those stories where they got engaged really early on in their relationship. they became a couple in 2016, they got engaged in 2017 but didn’t end up actually getting married until 2019.
once they were married, we soon have the pandemic. and during the pandemic sophie was pregnant with their first daughter. during that time, they were reportedly happier than ever. which makes sense bc of the baby. their first daughter was born in july of 2020 and their second daughter would also be born in july of 2022.
one thing that i found interesting is how joe would describe their relationship. not interesting in a bad way but something admirable. he always said that sophie was a really understanding and empathetic person, which he never experienced before.
sophie was able to save him in that way. sophie has been public and fought for mental health. joe wrote a song about her called “hesitate” which basically just highlights the sacrifices they will always make for each other. it’s actually a beautiful song lol.
another thing that you can possibly take away from, i don’t remember the exact details but when they got married in france (their official ceremony bc they did a fun vegas wedding for their legal certificate in the US) apparently they broke up for a couple of hours. the classic anxiety and panic — which can already be telling — but they talked it out and married confidently.
i think it’s important to note the history of joes family, his parents are still married and his brothers are married. i think he holds that sacred too. i think there was a time publicly where joe’s parents admitted to having bad time in their marriage but sticking it out.
last thing: joe and sophie are notoriously private. especially since their engagement. we’ve obviously seen them share photos of each other but it’s also at a certain time and selective. we don’t really know anything about their relationship. sophie rarely uses her social media.
lol i love tomdaya but i do have a side project with joe and sophie. they are cute and match personalities and we’ll see what happens bc at tonight’s concert he was wearing his wedding ring but 🤷🏽‍♀️
fyi; sophie is bi
sorry for ramble haha
Thanks Anon for more about their backstory. I keep forgetting that Sophie was like 20 when she and Joe started dating, and he was like 27. They started dating in 2016. I think because Sophie looks so "mature", you kind of forget that she was actually quite young when she first started dating Joe. And then, to get engaged after only a year of dating?? Whew...... Idk man.... lol. 😳Especially when you're THAT young?? That's pretty YOUNG to be engaged at 21 imo. 👀 You're still growing and learning about yourself imo.
They definitely seemed to have somewhat of a whirlwind romance. Having kids RIGHT after marriage is also kind of not such a good idea, because the couple hasn't had time to really adjust as a married couple for years yet. Idk... I just think it's best to wait a while as a married couple before bringing kids into the picture...IF you can. JMHO
another thing that you can possibly take away from, i don’t remember the exact details but when they got married in france (their official ceremony bc they did a fun vegas wedding for their legal certificate in the US) apparently they broke up for a couple of hours. the classic anxiety and panic — which can already be telling — but they talked it out and married confidently.
Ooop.... Maybe that there was a sign lol...👀
Btw, never knew they got married in VEGAS! lol
fyi; sophie is bi
I don't think I knew this. Or, if I did, maybe it escaped my memory.

Carry My Name
Chapter 7
Park Sooyoung X Nakamoto Yuta
Tumblr media
Stress was all Yuta could feel. He halted all other business his entire family’s network had for the time, called in every guard possible, basically bringing almost their entire empire to a standstill. Nothing was of any importance as his wife’s safe keeping, especially now with the new-born baby.
Sooyoung had given birth a month ago, and throughout the week she was in hospital Yuta never once left her side, always having one hand on her for his own reassurance. And of course with his new daughter finally being in his arms, a new found personality built itself inside him. From the moment the nurse passed him the crying baby, Yuta vowed he would jump in front of bullets with no hesitation for his daughter.
The birth had taken a toll on Sooyoung’s health for some time, but of course he was ready to drop everything the moment she would call for help, even if he was in the shower he would come out at just a call of his name. He was always by their side, and would promise it every night.
Now his worst fear was coming true. From the final letter from three months ago with a picture of Sooyoung pregnant walking outside, to the most recent case where there had been an attempted break in at her office, Yuta was sure her father was ready to harm her any minute. He still couldn’t figure out why the older mafia leader was doing so, and he would have fought back earlier, but seeing they knew about the baby now, he did not want to risk the lives of the two most important people in his life.
There was only one thing to do for him to deal with everything, while keeping Sooyoung and Yumeko out of it, something he was not ready for.
“No.” he stared at Sooyoung as she gave her unwanted answer, her face evidently hiding the pain she felt. He had no choice but to tell her the truth from the start, and following up with what’s to come next. Needless to say, she was thoroughly unpleased. “I am not leaving you behind to deal with my father like this, Nakamoto.”
“Sweetheart please…” Yuta could only sigh, sitting across her on their bed as she glared at him. “I promised you a life where you stay out of mafia business, and I intend to keep it. For you and now Yumeko.” he shifted closer and grabbed her hands in his. “It’s only for a short time. The safe house is unknown even to the men except for those who guard it, and the moment I’m done with your father I’ll come back to you.”
“No!” Sooyoung pushed his hands off and stood up, stomping like a child. “If we must hide like this come with us!”
“Sweetheart that’s no-“
“I DON’T CARE!”
“Damn it Sooyoung!” Yuta stood up angrily. He knew he shouldn’t lose his temper, not when she’s in postpartum, and this sudden bomb dropped on her was already too much. But he couldn’t help it with her being so stubborn. He softened immediately when seeing her terrified expression, took a few breaths before moving closer and grabbing her arms.
“Listen to me, please.” he kept a strict but affectionate gaze on her, noting her quivering lips. “He knows about Yumeko, that’s bad. He’s already tried to get to you at your office, but you luckily weren’t there. I can’t take the risk, and neither should you. He’s the one who broke the contract, and remember, our group is stronger no matter who leads it. I can guarantee you we will take care of him, but I don’t want to do it with the risk of your safety knowing I can prevent that.” a soft cry left his wife’s lips, and he quickly pulled her into his embrace, keeping a tight hold around her weakening body.
“I hate to do this sweetheart.” he placed soft kisses in her hair, allowing a tear to drop when hearing her cry even more. “I can’t stand the thought of being away from you like this. But I promise it’ll pass by very fast, and I never break my promises, you know that.”
“I don- don’t wanna go… not without you… Yu-san please…” his wife’s cries pained him deeper. Slowly, he sat back on the bed, pulling her onto his lap, and cradled her while she continued pushing herself closer into him. “I’m so sorry…”
Her sudden apology caught him off guard, and Yuta pulled her out and cupped her face to look at him. “For what sweetheart?” his eyes met her tearful ones, her hands gripping his shirt tight as if letting go meant losing him.
Sooyoung shook her head before pulling him close again, wanting to rest against his shoulder until she spoke again. “If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have to go through this with my dad… if you hadn’t married me, he wouldn’t have been an issue… your baby would have been safe…”
“Don’t even think it.” Yuta cut her off, arms tightening their hold around her body. “You don’t hold responsibility over your father being a pain in the ass, especially when he barely raised you in any way. You’re your own person. And should I remind you I’m the one who proposed to the daughter of an older rival? I fell for you and took you knowing well there’d be risks for me, but those are ones I’m willing to take.”
He pulled her out and cupped her face. “What I’m not willing to risk is the safety of my wife and child over her stupid father who so easily let her go because he’s an old asshole only to come back after this long attacking her for money. You may have been your father’s daughter, Sooyoung, but right now you are my wife. No matter who you were tied to or where you came from, you are now mine to love and protect.”
They stared at each other in silence, his thumbs rubbing away the tear streaks off her cheeks as she slowly went quiet from crying any further. After a few more sniffles, her eyes moved down to her hands playing with his pendant, his family emblem always chained to him.
“Do you…” she finally spoke, albeit voice cracking. “Do you promise… we’ll be back together fast?” he peeked down seeing her fingers twist the chain, almost smiling at the adorable act.
He knew this whole ordeal shouldn’t be such a big issue, it was a common thing they both had seen before. But Yuta also knew that they were different, they genuinely loved each other and didn’t plan their life around this underground life. But with that difference never came the thought of how it would be for them to be separated in these situations. Considering he even took her along to every single travel related job, the couple barely spent time away from each other besides the few hours they would be working. All that plus being a completely new mother, she was bound to have extreme feelings against being separated from her husband.
He grabbed around her waist again with one hand, pulling her closer so their lips barely touched. “I swear on my love for you, we will be together again soon. But you have to promise me something too.” he looked into her eyes, to which she sheepishly nodded. “Take care of yourself and our baby. I can’t live knowing you two are suffering in sadness, so please promise me, you will stay strong for yourself, Yumeko, and me.” he waited a little until met with a slow sad nod, but it was enough for him.
Deciding to make every second count, he moved them back to lay in bed as his arms tightened around his wife, holding her close to himself as much as he could. “I love you sweetheart.” he mumbled into her hair, leaving kisses on her.
Sooyoung pushed herself into his chest more, hands gripping him tight, afraid of letting him go. She couldn’t find her voice to speak anymore, but he knew her feelings whether or not she says anything back. Just as how he knew that right now, and for the next two days, all he had to do was comfort her, giving her all his attention and affection.

Hello!! Just a few days ago I stumble upon your blog and I'm wondering if you have some recommendations for Hybrid AUs, much appreciated if it is an OT7 and completed, but if so I will still be so thankful. (I just need some cure from the stress that modules brings) Thank You in Advance (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
🌷 Hello! welcome to my mini fic-reading land. I’ve actually received asks for Hybrid AUs (I pinned the requests in the navi) but I just have a very messy draft.
But to help you with your stress, I think I can share a few of my ongoing reads (sorry they won’t be complete but they’re OT7). But, I added completed ones I could remember too (●'◡'●)

Except, instead, you let him escape, and everything turns out fine.
🌷ggukkienote: I am so hooked on this (because I am a sucker for Mafia AUs too). This is such a great story and the OC is really different from the usual OCs. Very interesting.

I would like to recommend the catalog of these writers:
@ditttiii - so I realize I’m following them on AO3 when I realized the fics looked familiar 🤭. They have an ongoing series called Enchanted to Meet You which you might want to check out if you like Soulmate AUs too! I recently reblogged a Jungkook two-shot comfort fic (hybrid au too) so I recommend going through their masterlist!
@aroseforyoongi - who I discovered because of Gossamer (KTH). It was completed but I think it’s up for re-write/re-post? You can try the others:
Navy Blue - Jungkook [completed]
Forever Yours - Yoongi [one shot, prequel to Navy Blue]
Let Me Love You- Jungkook [one shot]
@magicalsalamander - another favorite author of mine I just feel like I’m reading a great tale every time I start on a series or one shot. They have great fics with supernatural themes too
Rabbit on the Moon - Jungkook | if you’re in the mood for police officer Jungkook [6/6]
The Act of Persuasion - Seokjin | if you are in the mood for Single Dad AU x Arranged Marriage too [one shot]
Firefly that Guards the Fox - Taehyung | if you are in the mood for mystery [11/12 - just epilogue left]
Kitten’s Little Flame - Yoongi | if you like BF to Lovers between dragon and a cat [6/6]
There’s more so please check their Masterlist
@hollyhomburg - I just love Of Fire and Love (hello dragon!yoongi and baby!jungkook? 🥺) But you can check:
their masterlist of all their hybrid fics
Dance to This series which I’ve added to fic recs based on an ask about stories that include members/readers with disability.
Don’t care if it Hurts - Jimin | this is probably my favorite (again I’m a sucker for Mafia AUs) , guard dog hybrid!jimin [12/13, just epilogue]
@angelicyoongie - I got hooked after reading their stories on AO3 but they have tumblr too! Check their masterlist for ongoing hybrid fic (Abundance - OT7)  but these are completed ones:
Desolate - Yoongi, grumypy cat hybrid [14/14]
Out of the Woods - Namjoon, wolf hybrid, strangers to lovers [3/3]
@worldwidebt7 - if you like webtoons! I read parts of Jungkook’s webtoon and I think currently we’re on Yoongi’s story. Access it here
@jincherie - One of the first hybrid fics I remember encountering is Inheritance (MYG). Other fics:
Perihelion - Hoseok, college, roommate, enemies [2/?]
Butterfingers - Namjoon, teacher au, this is cuuuute READ IT if you’re looking for something fluffy [one shot]
4 o’ clock - Taehyung, single dad au (I included this in the singel dad fic recs too) [3/?]
Under the Bridge - Jungkook, found jungkook under the bridge [one shot]
@whitesparrows97 - a writer I discovered because of a Yoongi soulmate fic but I found that they also have other hybrid fics:
Cat’s Cradle - Yoongi, bestfriend [5/5]
Underdog - Taehyung, shifter, brought home what she thought a stray dog [5/5]
@foxymoxynoona - and what would my reco be without foxymoxy? So they have tumblr but their works are on AO3. I’ve listed their current works here but I didn’t include their completed works which are must-reads:
Sugar Fairy - Jungkook, mating, adopted hybrids [48/48]
A Sea of Indigo - Jungkook, ex-fighter [48/48] ⭐⭐⭐
@therealmintedmango - They have a whole masterlist of their hybrid!au fics. I recently finished Kingdom Come and I always remember Jimin from King (for some reason)
@joonbird - check their Zodiac Hybrid Masterlist of one shot per member
Tumblr media
There are more (usually one shot per member) but I’ll probably put them in another Fic Rec List for Hybrid AUs. Sorry this list is kind of all over the place (not even organized per member 🤭). But good luck with your modules and I hope these help!

I actually forgot about this one. Found the notes for it and had to read through them since I couldn't remember what it was. It's the prequel bit to a reverse fake relationship. Instead of faking a relationship, they have to prove they really are together
(omegaverse, alpha Keith/omega Lance)
Klance have been mated since just before leaving Earth
it was the only thing that kept Keith from being expelled after Kerberos
Lance had made the mistake of telling his mother about the alpha friend in his class who protected him from the others
it got particularly bad when he told her that Keith would get aggressive with those other alphas
she asked if Lance was being properly courted, and when he tried to explain that it wasn't like that and that they were just friends, her mom brain immediately jumped to asking if he was pregnant and not telling her
Lance just about had a stroke at that one, practically screeching that of course he wasn't, was still a virgin, etc
she decided that she needed to meet this alpha and see for herself, and told Lance that he needed to set up a time for a call with her and his father to talk to Keith
Lance tried to warn him about his catholic parents, and it ended up being both better and far worse than he could have imagined
his parents never accused Keith of anything, but were thorough with their questioning
this is where it got even worse - Keith answered all of their questions, politely, and while he told them the truth, their questions had been phrased in a way that made his answers sound like he and Lance were at least dating if not formally courting
to Lance's absolute horror, his parents were thrilled with Keith's answers and signed off quite happily
Lance was well aware of just how bad his parents could be, but didn't realize how far they'd go
as soon as the call was over, he went over the entire conversation, telling Keith all of the things he'd needed to bite his tongue over, and concludes with the fact that they may be fucked, bc his parents now absolutely believe that they're at least dating
they were thoroughly fucked - Lance's parents had gotten the idea that not only were they dating, but courting, and wanted them mated as soon as possible
neither of them know this of course, until Lance's parents show up to sign off on the mating, despite the fact that Lance is 18 and doesn't need their consent
Keith is also 18, and even though Shiro and Adam had been fostering him, they never got to make the adoption formal, but that doesn't stop Lance's parents
in between the call and Lance's parents appearing without preamble, they talk and decide that they both would actually like a relationship, and begin dating for real, quickly realizing that they should have done it a long time ago
Kerberos happens before the mating, but Lance's parents are convinced that formalizing their relationship will help …somehow
it was true that about the only thing holding Keith together was Lance, but going through with the mating is about the furthest thing from his mind at that point
his inability to process the loss has him acting erratically, and he's only able to calm down around Lance, something that Lance points out, saying that maybe mating isn't the worst idea
Keith finally agrees and Lance's parents are delighted
Keith asks Adam to come as he's the only family Keith has left
Adam's still angry with Shiro, but has never taken that out on Keith and says that he wouldn't miss it
Veronica's only told at the last minute, but she still shows up, only to have to wait in the hall
the legal side of the mating goes quickly and quietly, Lance and his parents getting emotional over using the bonding cuff that had been left to him by his grandmother, just as Keith and Adam are emotional over the cuff Adam gives him that he had been planning to give to Shiro
the cuff exchange is the most emotional part, Keith fumbling getting Lance's abuela's cuff on his wrist, and Lance actually dropping Keith's, but they get through it, the whole thing turning a little awkward when Lance's parents say that they're not leaving until the next day and expect to see their mating marks in the morning
Adam tries to step in for them, saying that they still have class, newly mated or not
Lance's parents wave him off as the door opens, saying that they'll only be stopping by and not staying for long since they have to get back home
Lance doesn't get to object bc Veronica decides this is the best time to crush her baby brother in a hug while also threatening Keith
they do get the entire day off from class to move out of their respective dorms and into a new one together, it's one of the few for mated pairs, and is infinitely more comfortable than the normal dorms, and they end up not leaving it until the next morning, meeting up with Lance's parents with fresh mating marks
two years later in space, and they're meeting with an independent race to hopefully convince them to join the coalition
these people are either naturally suspicious and confrontational, or they're trying to decide who has the better deal
as such, they're looking for any cracks in the team so that if there's anything the team is holding back, they might spill it
they're instantly suspicious of the only matepair on the team, hinting not so subtly that it's an act meant to put the race's leaders at ease
klance now have to convince these people that they are actually mated and have been for over two years

haikyuu masterlist
Tumblr media
Tsukishima loves to tease the shit out of you, and that hasn’t really changed since you started getting bigger. But now, he’ll hide your cravings in the top shelves of the pantry so you have to make him come get it. He can’t help it, it’s that angry pouty look in your eyes - he’s so in love with you, even when you look like you’re about to murder him.
But despite him hiding everything you could possibly crave, he is an absolute sweetheart. He calls his mom every now and then to update her about you and the baby, probably asks about what she liked when she was pregnant. She tells him stories about liking to read to him and his brother, or how she enjoyed a nice bath if she was particularly sore that day. She even joked that she found it really hard to put her shoes on so typically she just wore slippers or easy to slip on shoes.
Cut to the next day, you wake up to Tsukishima reading a book of dinosaur facts to your belly. He’s not so much reading it as he is disputing and/or explaining further the facts that are written in it. He doesn’t notice you wake up while he waves away the book and states, “It’s fine. When you’re here, I’ll just bring you to my museum and I’ll show you in person. I can sneak you out of daycare, just don’t tell your mom.”
You had hoped to be able to keep your independence for longer than this, but found yourself struggling to properly put on your shoes. You huffed, muttering something to your unborn kid about how you’d hold this over their heads forever, and just waddled about with the backs of your shoes folded under your heel. Tsukishima raised an eyebrow as he noticed, waiting for you to sit down in the car before holding the door open and bending down to properly put your shoes on.
“Kei, what’re you doing?” You laughed, watching him swiftly tie up your laces. “They’re fine, they’re old shoes anyways.”
“If you wear your shoes like that, you’ll fall and hurt yourself,” he shrugged. “I can’t have you hurting the little Tsukishima just because you can’t put your shoes on.”
His expression was the same plain emotionless face as usual, but you smiled anyways because here he was, kneeling in front of you and helping you with what is supposed to be a simple task.
The day went on as usual, but you definitely weren’t prepared for your husband to call you into the bathroom and display the little bath he had drawn you with your favourite candle lit.
“Did you do something?” You asked him with narrow eyes, making him scoff.
He rolled his eyes, helping you out of your clothes gently, “Am I really such a bad husband that you think I’d have to be feeling guilty to be nice to you?”
You thought about it for a moment before nodding playfully, “Yup. So what did you do?” You laugh and he just flicks your forehead before helping you into the tub.
You watch as he smirks a bit, holding your chin for a second and watching your eyes, “Well I’m the reason you got knocked up so I supposed I have to take care of you don’t I?”
He doesn’t hold that sultry teasing look on his face for too long, especially when you splash him with water, drenching every part of him you could reach 😂.
Tumblr media
Bokuto is in a PANIC the closer you get to the due date. You once just felt a bit tired after vacuuming and the boy thought you holding your front meant you were going into early labour.
“I’VE GOT THE CAR KEYS BUT I CAN’T FIND MY WALLET!!! BABE HAVE YOU SEEN NY WALLET? I CAN’T REMEMBER WHERE I PUT IT. OMG WHAT IF THEY WONT TAKE US IN. WHAT IF THERE ARE SO MANY BABIES BEING BORN WE CANT GET IN. I KNEW I SHOULD’VE TAKEN A CLASS ON BIRTHING BABIES!”
You let him run around because he honestly is so entertaining to watch while panicking. He pouts about it later, talking shit about you to your belly, “Your mom’s a big meanie. You need to be born quick so we can team up on her okay?”
“Kōtarō! Don’t you dare try to turn my baby against me!” You laughed, swatting at his head.
Man is overly prepared for any sort of situation. He already set up all the safety baby measures, like corner cushions and outlet covers, though now he’s considering locking up all the knives into a cupboard.
“Kōtarō... how am are supposed to cook like this?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at the lack of your sharp cooking knives.. and the butter knives.
The grown man just poured some more, “I gotta keep both my babies safe alright? I’ll cut everything for you so you don’t cut yourself.”
Except for the fact that Bokuto is definitely more accident prone than you are and has a few bandaids on his fingers now.
As an expecting dad, Bokuto found himself getting more and more teary eyed at any situation that involved a family or a baby. Whether that was just seeing kids and families play in the park that the two of you walked past sometimes, or seeing a commercial for diapers with happy bouncy babies, you would turn to see a misty-eyed Bokuto who would then turn to you and wrap you in a tight squeeze.
He was beyond excited at this point to meet your little baby - he wanted to know what they would look like. The perfect mix between the most perfect woman in the world and him, who was pretty cool thank you very much. This baby was going to be the cutest most amazing kid ever, who would definitely play a really great game of volleyball, Bokuto was sure of it.
Let’s be honest though, pregnancy is not an easy journey. Bokuto loved seeing you grow the baby but he knew that it was a difficult process for you. You were always sore and at the beginning you were always sick. And there were some days where you literally didn’t feel attractive or beautiful at all, but Bokuto would praise you as high as he always did regardless.
“You are the most perfect lady I have ever laid eyes on. The most gorgeous being to ever walk this universe!” He told you one day, pressing kisses all over your face as you laid across a couch.
“Thanks,” you tried to give him a smile - you always appreciated his compliments, even if you didn’t necessarily agree.
“What’s wrong?” He asked you with a small frown, noting your forced smile.
“I just… feel bleh. Not at all like how you’re saying I look,” you admitted with a small smile.
Bokuto’s eyes grew wide in shock, jumping over the couch to sit down on the floor next to you. He clasped your hands in his, pressing kissing to them gently as well. “I know you might not feel it… but I hope you know that I still think it. I don’t even have to force it. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met, and that hasn’t changed even though your body is changing a bit. I don’t need you to wear the most perfect makeup or the best dress for me to think you’re gorgeous. You’re perfect just laying here in my old sweats and I’m happy that I get to come home to see you like this every day,” he grinned, touching your cheek affectionately.
You loved this man. He was so sweet to you in every way possible. But sometimes…. sometimes his sweetness just went a little too overboard. You tried to insist to him that you were pregnant but that didn’t mean you couldn’t do anything. Man refuses to let you do anything for yourself. No lifting boxes, no lifting anything in fear that you might hurt your back.
“Kōtarō, it’s just my purse,” you tried to point out in a laugh, trying to reach it as he held it above your head.
“Nope! Not happening. What if you hurt yourself?”
“... with my purse?”
“Ya!”
“Kōtarō, I have to go shopping for food or we won’t have anything to eat. And baby needs to eat!”
“Well I’ll come with you then!”
“You’ve got practice!”
“It’s fine, I’ll tell them I’ll practice another time! My perfect wife and baby come first,” he’d grin at you and insist on opening all the doors as you two made your way to the car. You fall in love with this man more and more every day, even if he keeps stealing things from your hands.
Tumblr media
Ushijima is a really nervous new dad, even if you can’t really tell from his stoic expression. He listens intently to all of the parenting advice people give, bought a few books about newborns, and has hundreds of tabs on his laptop of ranging topics from baby products people insist are necessary, mommy blogs about what is important to do when pregnant, and research that he doesn’t quite understand but feels is important nonetheless.
Ushijima isn’t necessarily a man of words all the time, so you were surprised to find that he started to talk a lot more after finding out that your child could hear him.
“You don’t have to play volleyball if you don’t want to,” he told them quietly one day while the two of you were on the couch. It came so out of the blue that you actually thought he was talking to you.
“Hm?”
“... do you think they’d want to play volleyball?” He asked you sheepishly, glancing at you with a shy expression.
You thought about it for a moment and slowly started to smile, “Well they’ll be attending every single one of your games so I’m sure they’ll be at least interested in learning!”
Ushijima nodded and you watched as a soft smile graced his face. You kept your eyes on him for just a moment longer, seeing a flicker of uncertainty on him.
“Wakatoshi, don’t you dare think for one second you’ll be a bad dad,” you warned him, poking his side and making him jump from surprised.
He stared at you for a moment, blinking, “You know what I’m thinking?”
“I know that you’ve been worried about being a good dad ever since I told you I was pregnant. I know that you’re nervous about being the kind of dad you always wanted to have growing up. I know because I’m terrified of being a good mom too,” you admitted with a nervous sort of smile, interlacing your fingers together. “We’ll be okay together though.”
Ushijima nodded and hummed softly, “We’ll have to take them to France.”
“France??”
“Satori wants to meet them too. He said he would make them chocolate.”
It wouldn’t just be the baby that Satori is constantly trying to spoil, but you as well. He sends over packages of his chocolate for you to try, grinning ear to ear when you call him for a catch-up call.
“Do you like them?” Tendō asked, and you could hear him humming to himself as he moved around a kitchen.
“I love them! But you’re going to make us fat if you keep sending them! They’re much too yummy for me to stop eating!” You laughed, eyes wandering to the kitchen where you knew you still had a few bits of his chocolate left.
“No no no no. I’m just trying to make sure your baby is a cute healthy plump baby! They’ll grow nice and strong!”
It always made you smile, knowing that all these people who loved your husband wanted to love you and the baby as well. Even Ushijima’s new teammates would come by and bring snacks or anything they thought might aid you in your pregnancy. Though, Kageyama wasn’t really sure what pregnant people or babies liked, so he just brought a whole bag of the milk boxes he liked.
“You’ve got to grow big and strong so that I can defeat you in volleyball one day. I can’t defeat your dad right now… cause he’s on my team. But I’ll defeat an Ushijima one day for sure,” he muttered to your belly with a fierce intensity in your eyes that made you laugh, making his ears turn red as he realized that you also heard him (Kageyama, the baby is attached to her, of course she heard you lol).
As it neared your due date, Ushijima prepared himself mentally every passing day. He wanted to be 110% ready so he went over your birthing plan mentally at least 10 times a day and reread over all the articles and information he had gathered over the months. He wanted to be the best father possible, but you insisted to him that you weren’t worried about this at all. After all, he was already the best husband you could ever have asked for.

"Pepa where is Felix?" Alma asked staring down at her human looking daughter confused when she came to visit but didn't see her son-in-law anywhere nearby. Which was strange since he rarely ever left his wife's side when she was pregnant or had just given birth...or at all really.
"Who?" Pepa asked confused as she looked up at her mother even as she nursed Antonio, the newest little Toad in the family.
Alma's face dropped. That bright light. The way it caused most of her and Pedro's subjects to have amnesia. It also spread this far and effected her daughter and son-in-law. She was afraid of that.
Pedro was going to be so upset when he confronted Agustin only to realize that the green clad plumber didn't remember his Bomb Queen wife and their three baby bombs.
"It seems that bright flash effected you two as well. Come on Pepa. You'll come stay with me for a while as we figure everything out." Alma said sighing as she scooped up her daughter and you get grandson. She wondered where her other two little Toads were. She hoped they were safe with Felix. She'd send out Koopas to find them since she couldn't sense them in the castle.
That brought a horrifying thought to Alma. Did Pepa remember her two older children? If she did why wasn't she worried about them being missing?
"We should leave a note for Dolores and Camilo. They were with Toadworth when I came here to check something out and went into labor." Pepa said perfectly happy to snuggle into her mother. That made Alma relax a little. She did remember her two older children and they were with someone who was trustworthy and would keep them safe.
Alma nodded and left a note for Toadworth on where they went when he would no doubt come looking for the Princess.
Then she took Pepa and her new grandson back to her castle but kept her eyes peeled. She hadn't found Bruno yet and she was hoping he still had his memories.
Miles away Bruno cursed under his breath as he found his brother in law's. His glasses had shielded him from the bright light but he had seen it's effect on the rest of his family aside from his parents.
Now he had to get his brother in law's back to his sisters and their children hopefully in one piece.
And he knew just how. Talking of the ruler of Koopa Kingdom, 'Bowser' seemed a good fake name, taking the Princess of Peach kingdom would send Felix running for the nearest castle for information.
And telling Agustin about a Bomb who was terrorizing a certain pathway would send him off to find her.
Bruno hoped that neither of them did something they regretted.
UWAHHHHHHH ☹️☹️☹️
When the bright light renders 95% of your family and entire kingdom with amnesia <//333 No but seriously. How. What kind of light is that 💀💀 did it give them a mini stroke or something, it’s a strobe light???
Anyway, Pedro being just as lost 👹👹
—————
Pedro was confused. His son-in-law had just left his mansion after his own son came by saying something about a bomb “terrorizing” a path…he could only assume that was Julieta; which was strange, because Julieta was far too kind and didn’t really use her bomb abilities without a valid reason.
He thought back to his encounter with Agustín after that bright flash rushed across his kingdom, causing his own Boos to not recognize his son in law and attempt to attack him. Could that light have something to do with it?
Pedro stared down from a distance at Agustín who was talking to E. Gadd. One of who might have been one of Pedro’s greatest enemies and one of the most wanted humans in his kingdom. He had been banned long ago, and it still baffled Pedro how that old geezer was still living.
“So basically Ghosts are in the mansion, possibly kidnapped and killed your brother Fèlix, and I need you to take care of them!” E. Gadd said, as if he didn’t just dump all of this onto Agustín.
Wait…what? Kidnapped and killed Fèlix? No, that’s not true! In fact, Pedro knew Fèlix wasn’t in his mansion, it was just him, his ghosts and gloops, and that one ghost family that hung out and haunted the place every so often—the point being, Agustín knew this! Why was he listening to that senile old man?
“Dispose of the ghost? Can you kill, what is already dead?” Agustín said, shivering at the thought. “E. Gadd I wonder.” E. Gadd stared at Agustín weirdly before backing away.
“O…okay Agustín. Well, good luck!” With that, E. Gadd left Agustín to his own devices, leaving off to some part of the mansion. Pedro would take care of him later, but for now he need to figure out why Agustín was here with that cursed ghost catching machine, and without Julieta or his kids no less.
Pedro finally came down, making himself fully apparent, and tapped Agustín on the shoulder. The man shrieked, spinning around and pointing the machine on his back at him.
“Y-You! Where’s mi hermano?!” Agustín said, ushering at Lesro, who gave him a confused look.
“Huh? Agustín it’s me…Pedro? Julieta’s papa?” Pedro said obviously. “I heard your conversation and I came to tell you that Fèlix isn’t here, he should be with Pepa.”
Agustín shook his head, backing up a bit. “I…I don’t know who any of those people are besides Fèlix, but you better back up, or I’ll use this on you!”
Agustín? Not remembering Julieta? Impossible. She was his pride and joy, there’s no way…unless…
“What about Isabela! Or Luisa and Mirabel? What about them?” Pedro moved a bit closed to Agustín, who still back up. It was strange to him, because by this point, Agustín had gotten at least somewhat used to Pedro, and only got scared by him occasionally.
“I don’t know who those people are!” Agustín yelled.
Pedro’s face scrunched up in confusion. What? He loved his daughters far too much. His loved his wife too much. Something was very wrong. Maybe he should ask Alma if she knew anything about this; then he would pay a visit to his eldest daughter and see if she and her niñas were alright.
—————
ANYWAYYYYYY probably gonna do some more art because. I want to <33 need to finish the last of the full bodies, only the grandkids left 😩 started last night but then I went to bed,,,,,Still deciding if I should do Mariano

Notes: Sorry this took so long. Hope it was worth the wait!!
Part 1, Part 2
Tumblr media
You pulled the covers up over yourself, desperate to dispel the cold that had crept into your bones. You hated being alone, sleeping alone, all of it. Ben was away fighting, the finals being in California this year but unfortunately none of you, except Will, had been able to go with him. The older Miller had promised to keep his brother out of trouble and you'd laughed it off at the time but you'd now gone three days without hearing from him and you were worried. Things had been a little tense between the two of you after the barbecue at his brothers. You'd fought when he'd come onto you that evening at the barbecue. You'd claimed you were just full and tired but he'd started to worry because the truth was, at this point, the two of you hadn't fucked in over a month.
It wasn't all your fault. He'd been busy a lot with work and his fighting career and you too had been slammed at work. It's not that you hadn't done anything. Few lazy hand jobs and such had kept the two of you sated to a degree but the truth was you were struggling to find the drive. It's almost like a switch had tripped inside of you and your libido had all but disappeared. It had definitely taken its toll though.
You'd managed to avoid Frankie altogether, deciding that your rendezvous needed to end. You were going to commit to Ben and only Ben. Frank didn't want anything serious and you did. You needed to move on and you found yourself surprised that you hadn't missed him. Not one bit and before you knew it, three months had passed since that night.
A few days before Ben's return had been the strangest and possibly the worst of your year so far. You'd casually been walking around the supermarket, stocking up on all of Benny's favourites when a wave of dizziness took hold and the next thing you knew you were waking up in the ER with a panicked Fish at your side.
"What are you doing here?" You groaned, scrubbing a hand over your face.
"You passed out in a Walmart and hit your head." He snapped "I'm obviously still your emergency contact because I got a call telling me you were in here."
"Well, I'm good Frank." You snapped, not wanting to be in his presence a moment longer "You can go now."
"God, you're so stubborn." He growled and you looked at him in shock "I came one, to take you home after as you're not fit to drive and two because you're my best friend and despite everything that's gone down, I still care about you."
"Am I interrupting?" Asked a doctor as they poked their head around the curtain of your cubicle.
"Not at all." You replied, throwing Frankie a warning look.
"This your partner or?..."
"Just a friend." He replied before you could and you rolled your eyes.
"Right well. We ran some tests and I'd like to talk to you about your results." The doctor replied as you shifted in your bed nervously "Would you like to discuss in private?"
"Please." You replied, throwing Frankie another look before he sighed and got up.
"I'll be grabbing coffee." He stated and you nodded, watching him leave before returning your attention to the doctor.
"Well?" You questioned, "What's wrong with me doc?"
"To put it in simple terms. You're pregnant." He stated and your jaw dropped "I'm what?"
"Pregnant." He replied again "We can get you in for a scan later today if you'd like. We can determine then how far along."
"Well, I haven't had sex in like over two months so at least that." You replied with a sigh "Shit."
"Would you like me to schedule you in?" He asked and you nodded.
"Just... one thing." You asked as you grabbed his arm "The guy that's with me. Please don't tell him any of this. I will it's just... it's complicated between us right now."
"My lips are sealed." He replied and you smiled.
An hour later you were laying on a different bed, your gown pulled up and a paper blanket covering your bottom half. You shivered as the doctor poured a generous amount of jelly onto your stomach before placing the probe down and beginning her examination.
"So this your first?" She asked as she continued to move the instrument around on your stomach.
"Yeah." You replied plainly "Little bit of a surprise if I'm being honest."
"Well, there's your baby." She said as she pointed them out on the screen and for a moment or your worries seemed to melt away "From their size, I'd say you're around 12 - 13 weeks along and..." She trailed off as she pressed a button and then you heard it.
Your baby's heartbeat.
"Shit, that's..." You choked, unable to get the words out as you watched them move on the screen.
"I'll get some pictures printed and you can take them with you when you leave.
"Thank you." You replied, smiling sweetly at her before returning your attention to the monitor one more time.
Frankie had been waiting to take you home when you'd gotten back to the ward, not speaking a word to you until he pulled up outside the house you shared with Ben.
"I uh... I wanted to say something to you before but well..." He paused a moment, struggling to find the right words "Shit Bug, you really grind my gears and you drive me crazy but I get that you want something solid and real so I'll leave you alone."
"What do you mean?" You questioned, a little unsure what he was trying to say.
"It means that I love you. That I'm crazy about you but that I still can't give you what you want so... as much as it pains me to see you with my best friend. I have to let you go." He stated plainly, giving you a pained look "The best man won."
"I appreciate that Frankie." You replied, placing a friendly hand on his "Friends?"
"Friends."
You left that car with a heavy heart and a brain riddled with guilt. You knew you needed to tell Frankie about the baby but you just didn't know how. You also had to tell Ben. Seeing as either one could be the father.
Ben arrived home a few days later. He'd pulled you into a sweet kiss as soon as he'd laid eyes on you, holding you tight as he swayed with you on the spot.
"Shit I missed you." He said as he pulled back so he could look at you "I hated how we left things baby."
"Me too." You replied, smiling at him sweetly "Want a coffee?"
"Please." He replied as he practically collapsed in one of the kitchen chairs.
You went about preparing him the drink, grabbing a mug from the cupboard along with the sugar.
"Uh, babe." Piper up Will.
"Mhmm?" You hummed as you stirred his coffee and turned to face him, eyes growing wide at what he had in his hands.
"Are you?..." He trialled off as he worked through the images "Are we pregnant?" He asked, his eyes growing wide and wet as he looked at you "Are we having a baby?"
"Yeah." You replied, placing the mug down gingerly beside him "I uh... well I'm a little over 3 months pregnant."
"This why you've been so off with me lately?" He questioned and you shrugged.
"The doctor said mood swings and loss of libido are all pretty common side effects so."
Ben stood abruptly from his seat and kissed you hard, his tears trickling onto your cheeks. You'd not intended him to find out this way but it was such a relief to you that he was happy about it. Your only problem now was you needed to somehow tell him that there was a chance it wasn't his and that was the stinger because you knew... when you told him.
You'd lose him and you didn't want that.
"So when can we tell everyone?" He asked, practically vibrating with excitement but that made your stomach drop.
"Well, I uh... I've only really just found out myself. Still processing all of this." You replied and he nodded in understanding "Can't we just enjoy the news ourselves first and then tell them later?"
"Sure baby." He replied, kissing you sweetly "Whatever you want."
"Thanks, Ben."
"God I've never been more excited about anything in my life." He buzzed and you gave him a weak smile "I'm gonna be a dad."
~
A few weeks passed but you'd still not managed to pluck up the courage to tell Ben the truth. Or Frankie. When Saturday drinks came around, you faked a migraine to get out of it. Still not ready to face them all yet and you'd decided that you'd figure out what to tell them and you'd do it Sunday when they all inevitably ended up at yours for breakfast.
Meanwhile, Ben was enjoying drinks at the bar with the boys and revelling in the knowledge that in a little over 5 months, he was going to be a dad. Tom had been unable to make it which had left just Frankie, Will and Santi along with the younger miller and they had noticed how he'd been far away from the start of the evening.
"What's going on with you Benny?" Asked Frankie as he studied his friend.
"Yeah, your head's been in the clouds all evening," Piped up Pope.
"I can't really say." He replied and Frankie's stomach twisted a little.
"Bug okay?"
"Yeah, she's uh... she's great." He replied wistfully.
"Okay come on just tell us." Urged Will and the boys.
"I can't."
"Come on it's us." Pope pushed "Bug won't mind I'm sure."
"Shit... Okay but you have to promise not to say anything to her." He pleased "Let her tell you when she's ready."
"Right... you're freaking me out." Frankie stated and Ben chuckled at that.
"Shit... okay well." He started, taking a steadying breath
'Bug and I are gonna have a baby."
Frankie's jaw dropped.
"She's a little under 4 months along now." He continued, his eyes glowing with the love he had for you "We're uh... we're super excited."
"Shit brother that's amazing." Said Will as he patted Benny on the back "Congratulations."
"Yeah, congrats Hermano." Pope patted his friends back before looking over at Frankie "Isn't this great Fish?" His expression changed when he saw Frank's "Fish?"
"She's pregnant?" Frankie asked and Ben nodded, his brow furrowing at his friend's reaction.
Frank didn't say another word. He stood up abruptly, his chair falling behind him and clattering on the wooden floor of the bar. The other men yelled out in surprise before all calling out after Frankie as he angrily stomped outside.
"Fish, what the hell?" Called out Ben as he sprinted after him, roughly turning him around when he got hold of his arm "What the fucks your problem man?"
"My problem is she's pregnant and she didn't tell me." He yelled, taking a few more steps before stopping.
"Why should she have?" Ben pushed "Sure I know the two of you are close but shit Frank you kinda banged her and dumped her. She lost her trust in you and so did I for a while but shit brother I moved past it."
"That's not what this is about." Frankie yelled, turning on his heel to look at the younger Miller "She should have told me."
"Why?" Benny growled, his nostrils flaring now as his anger simmered beneath the surface.
"Because that kid could be mine." He shouted and everyone froze.
"What?" Ben asked, his tone low and calm and it made Pope shiver.
"I said it could be mine." Frankie repeated "We fucked a few months ago. It was a mistake and I'm sorry but she should have told me."
"What do you mean you fucked her?" Ben snarled, his eyes burning into Frank's "When?"
"The last time was at Will's barbecue."
"Last time?" Santi growled, "How many times has this happened Frank?"
"One other." He replied "About a month after you got together. The fist drinks she came to after you and I worked our shit out."
"You have to be kidding my Fish." Spat Pope "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Ben remained deadly silent as Frankie continued to hammer the nails into his coffin. His stomach twisted painfully when he thought about how you could do this to him. How Frankie could do this to him.
"Look Ben I never meant to hurt you." Frankie piped up, stepping closer to the younger Miller "But shit seeing you and her together... well it made me realise that I'd made a mistake letting her go and that I'm crazy about her but she's yours and I... I..." Frankie's inability to get his last few words out was what sent Ben over the edge.
Frank never saw the fist coming. He hit the pavement hard, his eyes going grey at the edges a moment before he was painfully pulled back to awareness by Ben as he rained down on him with hit after hit. He was blind and deaf to all around him, he could only see Frankie and he wanted to hurt him. Hell, he wanted to kill him.
"Ben that's enough." Will screamed as he tried to pull his brother from Frankie as Santi stood there in shock "Ben come on."
Ben still Benny didn't relent. As Will managed to pull him away slightly he punched what he could reach, pummeling Fish's stomach and ribs before finally, he was dragged to his feet. He resorted to kicking him then, getting a few hard ones in before Will and Pope managed to drag him away.
"Shit Ben. He's had enough." Will screamed in his brother's face and Benny snapped out of the rage that had consumed him, looking over at Frankie who now had Pope hovering over him.
The pilot was a mess. Blood poured from his nose and his face was littered with small cuts that bled profusely. Santi felt his pulse and found it weak but there, breathing a sigh of relief he tried to rouse his friend in the hopes Ben hadn't kicked him into a coma.
"Hey, Fish... Fish can you hear me?" He called out, turning the torch on his phone on and shining it in his friend's eyes that's when he panicked "Shit... WILL!! Call an ambulance."
"What's going on?" Ben asked, his anger and adrenaline crashing suddenly at the urgency of Santi's request "Pope?"
"He's not waking up and his pupils aren't reacting to light." Pope stated, "Shit come on Frank, wake up for me buddy."
He should his friend gently, praying to rouse him as his ears picked up Will firing off instructions to the emergency services. Frankie's brows drew together slightly and Pope perked up, hoping his friend was coming round.
"Fish, can you hear me?" He called out again, jumping back when blood spewed from his friend's mouth before he started to choke and gasp for air "FUCK!"
"What's happening?" Ben asked but Santi didn't answer.
"Where's that ambulance, Will?"
"Two minutes away." He stated.
"Santi, what's happening?" Ben called out again, his voice wobbling.
"What's happening is that you beat the shit out of Fish and he can't breathe. His lung's collapsed and if we can't fix it soon. He'll die."
Ben threw up.
The severity of his actions hit him like a train and Will held him as he emptied the contents of his stomach onto the tarmac at his feet. Lights suddenly lit up the sky and sirens filled their ears.
"Hear that Frank? Help's coming." Stated Pope as Frankie continued to gasp on the floor "Hold on brother."
Will waved them down, jumping out of the way as they dashed from their vehicle to swarm their injured comrade and he pulled Benny into his arms as he sobbed.
"I didn't mean to..." He trailed off, crying onto his brother's shoulder "I was just so angry and I-"
"Just shut up and follow the ambulance." Pope snapped "Someone should let Bug know what's going on."
"I'll call her," Will stated, his eyes falling on Frankie who was now taking a few strong steady breaths thanks to the needle in his chest.
They quickly got him on a stretched and loaded him in the back of the ambulance, Pope right behind him and all Ben could do was stand there and watch. He'd beaten his friend within an inch of his life. A man who he called brother. Who had fought with him side by side, had even taken a bullet for him once.
Ben had never really thought himself to have a temper. He had frustrations sure but that's why he fought, to air them out but he'd never thought he could be driven to this.
"Ben, come on." Said Will softly as he tried to pull his brother in the direction of his truck.
"I just saw red Will." He stated numbly "I became numb to anything else. I just... I wanted to hurt him. Wanted to kill him for what he did but I didn't... I never thought I could go that far."
"Let's just get to the hospital. You need your hands tending to and we can find out how Fish is."
"What if he dies?"
"He won't." Will tried to assure his brother but Ben shook his head "What if he does though. She'll never forgive me."
"Come on."
...
"BEN?" You called out frantically as you sprinted into the ER "Ben?"
"I'm here." He said from a bed as a nurse finished wrapping his hands, Will
stood at his side.
"What the hell happened?" You asked, eyes wide as you took in the state of his bloody knuckles.
The nurse left, leaving you to stand and stare at him expectantly until he answered.
"Well?"
"He kicked the crap out of Fish." Will answered when his brother remained stubbornly silent.
"What?" You gasped "Why?"
"Because apparently there's a chance the baby's not mine." He spat and you took a step back in shock "I told them and he told me that you two have fucked twice since we got together."
"Ben I-"
"You wanna hear the stupid thing?" He scoffed, his eyes staring off at the patterned curtain across from him "I get it. You're in love with him and he offered himself up to you... But shit. I thought we had something special Bug."
"We do." You choked, your heart breaking at the way he looked at you.
"Then why?"
"I don't know." You sobbed "Call me weak or whatever but I don't know. I told him know but in reality, I wanted it and I'm sorry."
"Yeah well, thanks to me, he's now up on the OR clinging to life." Ben sobbed and your stomach sank.
"What?" You choked "Whats... is he..."
"He's got a pretty bad head injury." Will stated, eyes glancing over at his brother who's face had dropped "There was some internal bleeding. Punctured lung. He's in a bad way but he'll be fine."
"You don't know that." Ben growled and Will groaned at his brother's childish reaction.
"Fine." He snapped "You want me to tell you that there's a chance you've killed your best friend? Fine... there's a chance you've killed him, Ben." He paused, eyes burning into the back of his brothers head "I told you to stop. I told you he'd had enough and you didn't listen so yeah... there's a chance he won't make it and it's your fault."
Ben sobbed, fat tears rolling down his cheeks as he let his emotions burst from him like champagne from a shaken bottle. You pulled him into your arms, a little surprise when he didn't instantly push you away and you held him as he sobbed. You continued to hold him and comfort him and you moved from the ER bay to the waiting room where Santi had been sat waiting nervously for the last three hours.
"Any news?" Will asked and Pope simply shook his head.
You all sat there for another hour. Perking up every time a doctor walked in only to be left disappointed and finally after what felt like an eternity, it was your turn for news.
"How is he doc?" Will asked, glancing at Ben who clung to you.
"He was in a pretty bad way when he arrived." The doctor started and Ben shivered "We managed to repair the internal damage and stop the bleed."
"Thank god." Poped breathed and you all let out a sigh of relief.
"It's just the head injury we're concerned about now."
"What do you mean?" You asked, squeezing Ben tighter.
"Well, he took some significant blows to the head. We're monitoring him closely. He's got early signs of Cerebral Edema or swelling of the brain. We've started him on medication, hopefully, we can sort it before it becomes too serious."
"What happens if it does?" Ben asked, his voice tiny.
"Well we can look at a few other treatments but the worse case is surgery."
"How long till we know if he's getting better?" You asked, tears pricking your eyes as you spoke.
"It's all a matter of time and patience but the next 24 hours are critical."
"Okay." You all replied in unison, nodding your heads.
"We'll need to know how this happened." The doctor stated, eyeing Ben's bandaged hands "Who did this?"
"I-"
"We were jumped in the parking lot." interrupted Santi "It all happened so fast but Ben managed to get a few hits in before the scrambled."
"Right." The doctor said suspiciously.
"Well don't leave." He warned, "The police are going to want your statements." He finished and then he left.
"I'm gonna go to jail." Ben sobbed as he sunk back into his chair "If he dies, it's on me. Shit, I might have killed my best friend."
"Ben." You said softly and he glared at you.
"And it's you're fault." He finished and you sobbed.
Because he was right... It was your fault.

When she bloomed
*Author note~ this prompt is based off the fact someone I know just gave birth. And i immediately thought of my "something beautiful bloomed from pain" fic that lead to  my broken wings fic. So this will be a continuation of broken wings. It can also be read alone but I think personally prefer it as a second shot. I just adore lesso being all soft.*
Prompt~ reader goes into labour Lesso is there to support her through the whole process. This is what makes Leonora realise her feelings for reader.
Tumblr media
Nights began to grow darker earlier during this period of the year. Normally your favourite time of year. The darker colder nights meaning warm fires and blankets. Halloween fast approaching and then so did Christmas Day. Despite the dark and gloomy nights taking over, this happened to be your favourite time of year. That's why it's unsurprising for you that your 9 month pregnant self is unbelievably excited for the upcoming season. All hallows eve was just over a month away. Normally you'd be snowed under with planning for the ancient tradition.Your favourite excuse to meet up with all your fellow Evers and throw a massive ball in celebration. No this year, you were on bed rest. Mind bumbling boring bed rest. No dancing for you.
The dean of evil made sure you did nothing but rest. After all you were carrying the most pure innocent life form. And after she had found you that fateful day, she swore a silent oath that she'd protect you both. That was the catalyst for your now relationship. For the whole nine months, Lady lesso was with you. Holding you as you sobbed getting the positive test, holding your hair as you threw up, sneaking you late night cravings from the food hall and even reassuring you that what had happened didn't define you. You could love this innocent baby and if you'd let her she would too. Thinking back, pregnancy had been rough to you. The cravings, the mood swings, the swelling of your ankles and let's not even start of the growth of your stomach. Yet it still had been one of the most magical memorable experiences. You remember the day you felt her kick your ribs, the night she kicked Lesso in the face when she was having her nightly talks and even when you decided her name. All of that wouldn't have been possible without your Never lover.
It was only natural that when you felt the gush of liquid between your thighs accompanied by the niggly pains you'd been having that you craved Lesso's presence. All day the sun had been throwing out a blistering heat, your body struggling to stay cool. After all it was entering fall. Shouldn't it be cooler? Maybe it was just because you were desperate to hold your daughter, or maybe it was the sheer extra mass but this heat was awful. Combined with what you thought was Brixton and hicks, you were absolutely miserable.
A sharp pain tore it's way through your stomach causing you to cry out for your Nora. Instantly she was by your side. "Little dove? Are you quite alright? What do you need?" Concern was plastered all over her face as she clutched at your hand. Ready to do whatever you needed. Despite being a Never, seeing you in pain caused a terrible pain in her chest. Not the enjoyable kind.
You whimpered as the pain subsided and that was when your waters broke. Fear clawing it's way through you. For nine months, you'd worried about this day. It was here. You knew you weren't strong enough for this.
"Dove, you're okay. It's okay my love. She just wants to meet her momma. I'm going to go get the nurse I'll be right back. How long dove?" She reassured while getting the information she needed. You knew what she meant. How long apart were they? You'd spoken off this in the months leading to the delivery.
Through ragged breaths you managed to inform her they were about 5 minutes apart but you'd been feeling smaller pains all day. Not even bothering to question why you hadn't informed her the moment any pain occurred, she scampered off like the sly fox she was. The goal to get help and be back before another contraction hit.
You slowly eased yourself off the bed in your break of pain, and lent over swaying lightly. The bedding soaked but quite frankly you couldn't give a fuck. This baby would be making an appearance and you'd be dammed if you cared over some material. Another contraction hit you like a wave causing a loud whimper to escape you as you leant further onto the bed. Tears prickling at your eyes, you whimpered "fuck! LESSO!" Where was she? You needed her. This hurts.
As if summoned by your whimpers of pain the red head immediately joined your side allowing the nurse in to get herself situated. "Oh dove... you're doing great. What can I do my love?" Her words cocooned you almost elevating some pain. You leant yourself against her front as she brought her hands to your bump. "Mmmm dis helps" you mumbled out feeling just a second of relief.
"Y/n ? How long now?" The nurse questioned sensing this would be an incredibly quick labour. From the rushed snapped comments the firey red head spat at her on the way here she could tell you'd been silently labouring all day.
"I bout" a contraction cut your sentence off with a whimper of pain as tears flowed freely, "3 minutes?"
You're hips still swaying in a slow circle only now Lesso was guiding the movement with her hands at your stomach. She whispered praise into your hair. You were handling this amazingly well. Her little Ever and she couldn't be prouder of you.
"Y/n can you get up on the bed?" The nurse asked timidly not wanting to piss you off knowing the pain you'd be in.
With a grunt and Lesso's support you managed to position yourself on the bed. Sweat covering your body as you attempted to pant through your pains. The panic in Lesso's features only visible to the trained eye. But when a scream tore through you, that's when her composure fell. "Oh dove. I'm sorry it hurts. You're doing so good love. So so good. Just think soon you'll meet her hmm?" Although reassuring you was still new to the dean she was doing a remarkable job. Her hand hadn't left yours since her return to the room.
Leonora disappeared to wet a cloth and put it on your forehead hoping to help with the uncomfortable amount of heat radiating off you. Her ever flowing river of praise never failing to ground you. The pain only worsening for you as the night drew on.
The ring of fire stage is where you broke. Tears uncontrollably falling, fear at its highest spike stressing not only you but your almost birthed daughter. All you could do was feel the pain and panic. You missed the nurse gesturing to lesso to sit behind you in an attempt to calm you. So when she sat behind you, your body instantly sagged against hers. "I can't- lesso I can't- it fucking hurt! Make it stop. Please - I can't I can't do this" you sobbed on a loop in between cries of agony with each contraction urging your body to push.
"Dove you can. You can do this. You're so good little one. You're doing so well for me. Almost there. I know it hurts I'm sorry love." Kisses were haphazardly pressed into your hair. "Just a few more y/n" her voice strained slightly as you squeezed the life from her fingers. A small price to pay for the unimaginable pain you were in.
It was a few more pushes before you felt a weight leave your body. A piercing cry feeling your room. Happy tears and sobs escaped your exhausted body. She was here. Immediately your daughter was scooped up onto your chest covered in all the goo and muck, yet you didn't care. She was truly a beauty to be marvelled at. Only when she was taken off your chest to get cleaned did you feel it. Your body still actively trying to get something out. "Lesso ? What's happening?" You panicked trying to relax allowing your body to do what's natural but it was hard when you didn't understand what was happening.
"Oh dove you're gonna deliver the placenta now and she's going to get all cleaned up okay? You're doing such a good job" she reassured. "Don't leave her please. Go with her." You pleaded the overwhelming fear of not seeing her clouding your mind.
It was only when you were finally resting on the bed In your girlfriends arms, with your daughter on your chest that the weight of what had happened sunk in. Your daughter had made her way into the world. Incredibly fast you may add. You only pushed for a total of ten minutes but god that felt eternal. Now all you could do is marvel at the sleeping flower on your chest. Now dressed in a cute little lilac onesie with a little black hat, her little chest rising and falling just soaking in the cuddles.
"Dove? She's beautiful. You did so well darling. Such a good little one. She looks like you" lesso pointed out the adoring tone in her voice painfully obvious. Although the baby wouldn't be hers biologically, she still loved her as if she was. This was an instant love. If you'd asked her ten months ago if she was capable of , she would've told you to go walk off a short cliff. Evil doesn't love. But right now, as she held you both love was all she felt.
"Our little lilac flower" you mumbled out transfixed by the sleeping baby, feeling well and truly relaxed. "Happy birthday Delilah"
"Yes happy birthday little lilac" lesso hummed in agreement. "Y/n?"
"Hmm"
"She was born at night. I think we might have a little Never on our hands" you could practically hear the smirk on her face
"Ever or Never she's our little lilac flower. Something so beautiful that bloomed from the darkest pain. She's also a fall baby so it just fits hmm?"
"Indeed little dove, you've done amazingly well I love you so. Both of you. I'll protect you both with my life. My dove and my lilac" she whispered into the night
"And I you my sly fox and my little flower" you mumbled back.
