Ngl gotta agree that Ayato is the backbone of Diabolik Lovers. Without him, everything would be so dull even if characters such as Laito and Shu can be so funny too, somehow Ayato’s personality stands out the most lol

I had a very cute DL dream. I swear I cried by seeing this dream 🥺😭.

Yui was a helpless baby. I could hear her crying but for some reason I could not help her.

In my dream the person who first found Yui was Karlheinz, not Richter. He held Yui in his arms and decided to use her for his plan. But something unexpected happened. Yui cupped Karlheinz's face with her small hands, which made Karlheinz feel good. He placed his ear gently on Yui's chest to listen to her heartbeat and he started to cry when he heard her tiny heartbeat. Karlheinz held Yui's small body in his arms and kissed her forehead, deciding to take care of Yui like his own daughter with all his heart.

He took Yui to his mansion. And introduced Yui to his only sons, Reiji and Shu. ( In my dream only Reiji and Shu were the sons of Karlheinz and there were no more sons. ) Reiji immediately hugged Yui. He smiled when he saw Yui and promised his father to take care of Yui. Shu had three kittens. ( I wonder if the triplets turned into cats in my dream 😂😂😂. ) Shu showed the kittens to Yui and they played together.

Why rejet didn't make this cute story for DL 😭. I hate you rejet. I wish my dream was the real story of DL.

Diabolik lovers headcanons pt. 4

Hi! After that huge response my other post got, I decided to write more/be more active on here. I really enjoy writing my thoughts on just about anything regarding dl out and it makes me happy that so many people liked my post!

Although that big of a response was quite a shock. Seemed that I did not, in fact, yell into the void that time :).

Though I am not sure if that post did anything different, I'll continue posting on here no matter how big the response is. If I can make even one person happy with those posts, (including me) I'll keep on writing those silly headcanons of vampires that do not exist. :)

I am going to focus more on the mukamis and Yui in this post since the last one was almost only the Sakamakis.

This time, I rambled quite a bit about Azusa ':)

Firstly, Yui. Our dear heroine who deserves just about everything!

Really good at dancing those old, classical ballroom dances. She had a few lessons by Ayato (who spent the entire time giving his best not stomping on Yui's feet) and Reiji (whose lesson was the most horrifying experience she had ever had)

After those lessons, she refined her skills. Ayato is quite a good dancer, so she had someone to practice with.

Her best dances are waltz and rumba

Ayato is literally not physically able to stop watching her when dancing together. Never has he seen someone that beautiful (I stand by Ayato being totally besottet by Yui)

Her style is so coquetteish, old fairy tale princess, etherial soul, cottage core - genuinely dresses like a pinterest board

Really fcking pretty??? I don't get why the boys humble her all the time

Immune to pretty boys/play boys. She has seen it all.

really adores bunnies. Lionheads? She'd like a dozen of them.

Had at one point a guinea pig. It died and her father buried it and told her that a fairy had taken it to be her loyal companion. Yui believed it until she was like 16 years.

Her hair has those light curls and feels like the softest thing ever

The clasp in her hair is not the only flowery hair adornment she has, Yui loves to wear different clasps on special occasions

Definitely got gifted a hair pin with rose details from Subaru at one point

Best friends with Subaru. They like to spend quality time caring for his flowers and Yui is allowed to brush his hair on tare occasions.

Shu tried to teach her the violin once and she was horrible at it (but flute was her thing)

Has those shirts with horribly kitsch prints on them but no one says anything to her because she loves them so much

She has thought a lot about her faith since being with the Sakamakis. Read a lot about her god and the different religions.

Has though about studying theology and psychology in University

Due to Kou's eye, he can see truths and lies in humans. But he is also really good at deciphering the human psyche.

Doesn't always use his eye. Sometimes, just Kou's knowledge of psychology is enough to recognize lies

There are some headcanons that Kou is italian. I agree with that. I can really image him enjoying the culture and the food. Also, I read a headcanon once that Kou's real name was Emilio. (If someone knows the name of the OP, please tell me)

Cuts his hair himself because he feels that his slow manner of speech annoys the staff in hair salons

But he likes the choppy style so its not as big of a problem for him

How do you imagine the shapes and personalities of Subaru children, female and male?When you said that Sho has a child who looks like Reiji, I laughed inside and imagined that if Subaru had children who looked like his three brothers, he would have a tornado in his mind,😭 but that's impossible because they're not even from the same mother. Like Reji and Shu

I actually will be doing the kids personalities and possible short stories for all the DL boys x Yui soon, well if that’s what you all would like to read now with Subaru..his kids could possibly have golden eyes since Karl Heinz has golden eyes but the hair color with either be white or platinum, we have no idea what Yui’s parents look like so the genetic play is very limited, I think their kids would have very light colored hair regardless. Their personalities would be very similar to their mothers more likely, however they both do have extreme rage issues/anger issues but only to things that trigger them, they also are very quiet and like to keep to themselves, very sweet kids when unprovoked.

one of the best developments of Shu was his view on his brothers and other families. We don't see him interacting or giving attention to what his brothers' do, and yes it's probably because of everything that happened to him in the past. In HDB and MB unless it's his route he shows a very lazy and not caring attitude BUT after DF in EVERY route Shu was seen showing concern for everyone, even Mukamis(Yuma's DF route) plus we also got his own perspective of things after yui came into his life about how he used to deal with things before by detaching himself and he still tries to do that but Yui's presence won't let him because she is precious and his family, and also it's not only yui, but he goes out his way for the the cat they adopted in DF. This proves how unlike in HDB and MB where there was only Yui, Shu is starting to accept other people too as precious and protect them.

In his LE vampire end, when Reiji sacrificed himself to save Yuma, Shu can be seen very affected by Reiji's death and his sad monologue appeared on how whenever such things happen he always detaches himself to hear nothing, feel nothing, think nothing just to stabilize his emotions and lessen the mental burden.

In CL he even protected everyone going out of his own way and laziness after recovering his memories.

DF was definitely a turning point for each and every character of DL fandom, even for the Tsukinamis in their own route.

Shu does everything for Yui, even the littlest things even if it is a "drag" or "bothersome" for him, like how he went to awaken Yui in that one Maniac (between 1-5). he said that it was something she would love and glee about after all they are family. even Yui was surprised and happy by his such behaviour. He even waited for her for hours to select the couple mugs in a mall until she was satisfied with the design and everything.

yeah you can't give me reasons to hate shu because he has developed a lot. he is still lewd, lazy, teasing, unbothered but there is change in how he sees compared to first game and I think time plays a great role as the more time he spent with yui who always made him do things he don't want to or bothersome for him, he started to see things differently.

Yui really helped all of them out a lot and that was one massive development because we know how each and every one of them was in the start.

Like even Carla who hates vampires changes his perspective on them even though he still hates them to some degree. he gave up on his revenge against karlheinz because he realised yui>>>>>>>>>

Chapter Selection

Karlheinz-sama leaned his backside on the edge of his desk as the last words from him still wafted in the air. I was baffled by how much there had been I had not known before. But now, my savior finally trusted me enough to share his whole past with the First Bloods. Before I had simply figured out they were his sworn enemies which had made me suspicious when they had appeared in the Ryoutei Academy. But after hearing the story from ancient times, I understood that they possessed a serious threat if they were attacking against the rightful reign of the Vampire king.

“But the Endzeit should end them eventually…” Shu did not bother to lift his eyelids while he spoke. “I see no reason to act if they don’t.”

For once, I agreed with the eldest Sakamaki. If the disease would do our dirty work for us, there was no reason to start an unnecessary fight. At least, if the First Bloods wouldn’t act on their own. I could understand why they had left the Banmaden. Even if the reason for the castle boundaries being open again was still unclear, I would have done the same if I had been in their shoes. Centuries of imprisonment sounded like hell I never wished to face. It was a miracle that they had not ended their lives on their own.

Karlheinz-sama nodded. “Waiting game is sometimes the best course of action. Yet, no game should be played with only one pawn. Reiji is working to find a way to activate the disease faster and spread it to those who are… one way or another tied to these disturbances. If there are such people.”

The words sank like ice into my stomach. There was no blood bond between me and Tsukinami Shin but for Yuriko’s sake, we had made an agreement. Would that be enough? And what about Yuriko’s contract with the same man? Or her blood relatives in that village we had visited when we saved her brother? I had no idea what kind of tie there was between the Founders and the Kitsune.

Freezing shivers ran down my spine but I kept my face emotionless. I would need to brace myself. It seemed clearer and clearer that if this conflict were to escalate, I would have to decide between my great love and my benefactor. 

I had promised to protect Yuriko. But if I had to keep her safe from an ancient disease, I would need to flee with her to somewhere she could not get ill.

“So, Reiji is already working on it? Even fewer reasons for me to do anything about this.” Shu’s ignorance was almost an atrocity but I could not say anything since I had endangered everything on my end.

Had I failed Karlheinz-sama? Could I truly serve him while my heart was bound with my angel? The trail of thoughts was tormenting me. I could not let her go, for she was the sole light in all this darkness. Then again, I had given my life in Karlheinz-sama’s hands. My temples started to throb the more I thought about this. If his benefit crossed with Yuriko’s what could I do?

“Shu… for Eve chose you, the biggest responsibilities of them all are placed on your shoulders.” Karlheinz-sama straightened up, and I did the same. Did I even deserve to be in the same room with him right now? “As my heir, you are to receive the power to burn this world and each unloving creature of it. From those ashes, Adam and Eve will truly rise and start a new era. From those ashes, will begin the new species who have the human ability to love and the magical skills of the demons.”

Something clicked in my head. I focused on keeping my face as emotionless as possible. Why did we need new species for that? I was sure that I was in love with Yuriko and I was — without a doubt — a demonic creature. Yuriko, too, was partly demonic due to her Kitsune side. And we both had our magical abilities. Though, to be honest, we both were halfbreeds. Perhaps that was the problem.

Either way, I said nothing. I was still unsure about my place in the current wave of actions.

Shu, however, tensed all over and opened his eyes. “Haa… bothersome.” The usual listlessness had disappeared from his voice. If anything his choice of the word was a contradiction of his very being at this moment. It was like he had finally woken up.

“Bothersome or not, that is your destiny. If you are not able to do it, the whole world will be doomed.” Karlheinz-sama did not elaborate but laid his golden gaze over his firstborn son. “Someone could think you are afraid of your duty.”

I could hear how Shu gritted his teeth. “If I’m afraid of something it’s the amount of unnecessary work you’re trying to load for me.”

“Yet it was Eve who chose you.” Karlheinz-sama hummed, placing his hand on the hourglass on his desk.

“I saw enough fire when I saved Yui from their house last month.” Shu glanced at me as if it had been my fault that Yuma had set his room in flames. While I agreed it had not been one of his wisest decisions, I would not voice out my opinion and throw my true brother to the wolves.

“Which is a proof that this time…” Karlheinz-sama drifted off in the middle of his sentence, glancing at the table and tapping the hourglass with his index finger. Slowly, he lifted his gaze again. “That this time, you will finally be able to overcome this obstacle you have battled with for such a long while.”

Shu did not answer. But his reaction had made me curious. I was worried about the flames Karlheinz-sama had just mentioned because I simply did not wish the world to burn. Not when my angel inhabited it. But Shu… It seemed that something else was the problem. What was going through the mind of the eldest Sakamaki?

“Perhaps, Ruki’s girl is the key to solving this matter for good.” Karlheinz-sama laid his eyes on me. I had time to notice how Shu’s gaze turned too, before I was a captive for my benefactor’s observation. 

“Forgive me, Karlheinz-sama, but I do not see how Yuriko could help Shu out.” Neither did I want that pervert near her. Shu had gotten his hands on Eve but would not lay his dirty fingers on what was mine.

Karlheinz-sama chuckled as if I had just amused him. “She is quite a firecracker. I’m not wrong, am I?”

“Her ability to use fire is still vague and unreliable. The flames seem to be tied to her emotions and…” I shut my mouth. 

“...and she has been through a lot because of her background. Do you not think, Ruki, that helping our cause would give her something else to concentrate on?” Karlheinz-sama smiled. “If anything, aiding Shu would give her a chance to practice which means she will be ready to defend herself in case we will be heading to war with the First Bloods.”

“All due respect, it is not up to me to decide.” And if it was, I did not wish Yuriko to do this.

“Always so stern, Ruki. Just say it directly, you don’t want to introduce this little plaything of yours to me.” Shu smirked but lacked his usual smugness as I glanced at him. It was like he wished for me to make sure Yuriko’s path would not cross with his.

Karlheinz-sama sighed, catching our attention. “All this will be settled later. The familiars will bring dinner invitations to you when the time has come. Be sure that you will arrive with Eve, Shu.” My benefactor stared at his son for a while before turning his unrelenting gaze to me. “And you, Ruki, I expect to see our little anomaly at that very dinner table too.”

I lowered my head but I could not help the stiffness in my muscles. “As you wish, Karlheinz-sama.”

DL character headcanons that popped up in my head during my free time (Valentine’s Day Edition)

Note: These consists of ships I love so be mindful and RESPECTFUL of them

Yui makes baked goods for everyone even if she isn’t close to them or scared of them (glances at Carla ever since the situation in Dark Fate with one of Shin’s routes in the dungeon)

Subaru isn’t good with expressing his feelings to Kou and tries to do so with letters that he eventually rip and tore apart

Ayato forced himself to wear pink with Laito for Yui on Valentine’s Day in school and didn’t survive the first class

Shin and Kanato both ask Azusa out to the Valentines dance at the SAME time and the two start a fist fight in the hall

Shu isn’t fond of sweets but will eat any chocolate Yuma gives him

Kanato and Kou have an addiction to the chocolate roses the school give out (I don’t know if anyone knows what I’m talking about, but in my elementary and middle school in February, they would give these chocolate roses on sticks out to students to by, you can look them up on Google lol)

Kino LOVES Valentine’s Day NOT because of love itself, but for a yearly event in a game he plays for a Valentines themed character

Yui goes to the Valentines dance with both Ruki and Ayato who bicker at each other

Shin on Valentine’s Day get a MASSIVE DUMB of love letters and cute little paper doodles stuffed in his locker by Azusa

Laito wears this STRONG rose fragment cologne on his body and gets a couple girls in school here and there asking if he took a fall in a wilted garden

Reiji and Ruki have a chocolate making contest and it turns to pure war when Yui gets stuck in the middle of it

There’s this cherry blossom tree that blooms the week of Valentines Day and Yuma always takes Shu there just to nap underneath it while holding hands

Kou asks Subaru to be his Valentine and Subaru has a full blown panic attack with a WICKED flushed and stuttering composure

Kanato likes to give littler heart hair clips to Teddy and show him off proudly in public

Carla enjoys white chocolate because it is not considered “real chocolate” and is seemingly invested to understand the meaning behind it through his sense of taste as the Founder King (He thinks it can perhaps cure his Endzeit)

Ayato gets told these cheesy ass pickup lines by Laito to help him get some chicks by his side, they don’t work and half the girls in his grade now call him a pedophile

Reiji finds the heart candy with the text the most delicious candy around this time of year(?) as Shu considers it to be the end of the fucking world because they taste like chalk

Azusa accidentally drank one of Reiji’s potions in the lab which was an philtre (love potion) and he easily fell in love with Shin at first sight

Yuma and Ruki FEAR Kou on Valentine’s Day because it’s basically “Pink Day” for the kid and he goes WAY TOO OUT on it

The moment you mentioned meeting your family, this man sent his familiars over to your parents’ estate. He’s not too keen on meeting them.

If anyone would read the vibes, it’s definitely Shu. So why was he standing with you here at their doorstep now?

The moment the door opened, their faces were burned with looks of annoyance.

“Why are you here? Do you not have any consideration for your family? You’ve always been so damn selfish—”, Shu doesn’t stay long, meaning you didn’t either.

But oddly after the visits you don’t receive any texts or calls from your parents. But your phone is blown up with calls from your siblings.

There was no way in hell, Shu would waste a single drop of energy, so he sends someone to handle it. What a mobster.

Reiji:

Oddly enough, your parents love Reiji. Reiji somehow managed to manipulate them into coming back to the manor for ‘tea’.

Even you know this wouldn’t end in a happy ending, especially for them.

The moment you four sit in Reiji’s room for tea, you’re watching his reactions and mannerism. But he wasn’t letting up.

Your parents go on to discuss your flaws and terrible mannerism.

Of course Reiji plays along, although he’s trained you thoroughly, he was insulted.

Hence the scene of your parents laying out on the ground choking to death as Reiji holds you close to watch the scene unfold.

“Reframe from bleeding on my floor. It’s rude is it not?”

Ayato:

The moment they open the door, his face twists with a look of annoyance, their bitching and moaning remind him of his mother.

“So pathetic, more trash people, I should’ve expected this from mere lowlife humans.”

After the shitty encounter, you and Ayato head home. He wasn’t entirely sure how to comfort you and your salty tears. So he decides to share his takoyaki.

Afterwards he informs you he needs to do something, leaving you home.

Only hours later, he comes back covered in blood. You look at him concerned, was he hurt?

Why was he bleeding so much? You attempt to tend to his ‘wounds’, however, you’re greeted by his lips capturing yours.

“I’m aroused, so take care of it.”

Laito:

The master manipulator, was unimpressed with their shitty attempt to gaslight you. He didn’t bother to even introduce himself.

The entire time there, Laito was studying, both your parents and the house as well.

You could tell he was planning something.

The usual charismatic Laito, was now a man who didn’t know how to ‘speak’.

But your tears did not go unnoticed, once you left the house and headed home.

Laito’s instructions carve into the back of your head as he tells you to stay put and not move until he comes back.

So you, of course, listen and wait anxiously in his room.

Waiting only a mere thirty minutes, he suddenly appears in front of you.

“Did you miss me, little bitch?” he mutters, he isn’t his usual playful self.

Something must've happened.

Kanato:

The moment the door opens and the words come flying out, Kanato goes into a fit of rage.

You knew your parents weren’t the best, but you didn’t realize exactly how bad they were.

In the flash of seconds, Kanato yells and screams, throwing things around him, destroying the house in the matter of seconds.

Your parents panicking and scared as they attempt to speak, but only greeted by a hit to the face.

“Shut up! Shut up! Who do you think you are? You’re both nothing but lowlifes, with nothing going for them. I should kill you now.” He yells.

You don’t know what to do, so you do what you knew was best, nothing.

Subaru:

Similar to Kanato, he destroys the house but insists on getting physical.

In attempts to calm him down, you stop in your tracks, as they yell and scream calling you and him crazy and unhinged.

Your heartbreaks, as you see Subaru’s reaction, a boy who spent his childhood being called all types of things.

You were becoming angry, but not for you, but for him.

“Don’t you dare talk to him like that.” You mustered up the courage to speak.

You were now a vampire, you didn’t need him to handle your parents, no.

If you wanted revenge you wanted it on your own accord. “Let’s just go Subaru.” you say, he turns and looks at you.

His face flushed with red as he nodded and started towards you.

“Heh, you’re going to seek revenge?” Subaru snickers, your face blushes, “Watch me.” you mutter out.

Your parents watch in horror and shock. They were old in age anyway, you were given the gift of immortality they weren’t.

Mukami

Ruki: Truth be told, you and Ruki didn’t have to go to your parents' home.

He knew what kind of person they were, I mean he did do thorough investigations on your entire family and family history.

“I have no desire to meet your family.” He says bluntly, your eyes widen in shock.

You figured with him being a traditional man, he’d want to go the traditional route and meet your parents.

“But why?” You question, he smirks and he then sits and pulls you onto his lap.

“What’s the point of meeting them if they're already dead?” he mutters out, anxiety fills your chest.

There was no way, you were just on the phone with them, informing them about visiting.

“Ruki, what did you do…”

“It’s best if you don’t question your Master.”

Kou:

He didn’t want to meet them in the first place, so to avoid doing so. Kou asks Ruki to do some research for him.

Kou wasn’t an idiot, he watched as you panic as your family would call you.

The sound of your heart pounding rapidly told him everything he needed to know.

As an idol, he needed to avoid any forms of getting his hands dirty.

With the help of his eye, the times you would suggest meeting them, he knew you didn’t really want him to meet them.

So he had to know why, hence the cyberstalking and stalking of your parents.

When the day finally comes, to meet your parents, Kou is somehow persuaded to go with you.

Truth be told, he just wanted your reactions to their corpses.

Yeah, you two were partners, but he was also a vampire with a lack of humanity.

Especially towards those who hurt their own family.

Yuuma:

The moment the door opens, your parents stare up at him. His face wearing a blank expression, he didn’t want to be here.

But the moment they begin to belittle you and berate you. He loses his cool, he was a man but also a creature of the night.

A force to be reckoned with, “I don’t like people like y’all.” was all he needed to say.

“Excuse me? And who are you to say that? You're with our daughter/son.” Your mom says.

Yuuma rolls his eyes, grabbing your hand and pulling you away.

“I suggest, you never come back here.” Your father says.

Yuuma smirks, “They won’t be back, but I will.” They stare at him in shock, what exactly did he mean?

Azusa:

The meeting was something he dreaded, he didn’t want to visit your family. Besides, he insisted he was your new family now.

“I…, let’s not meet them.” He mutters, truth be told, you didn’t want to see them either.

But you knew it was the ‘right thing to do’ or so Ruki said.

“But Azusa, we have to. Ruki even suggested it.” You reply, he looks at you with a tired look.

“B..—I want us..to stay.” He continues to complain.

Maybe he was right, your family wasn't the best anyway. Perhaps putting it off one more time won’t be too bad.

“I—okay, fine. We can stay this time, but next time we need to meet them.” You say.

Azusa smiles before grabbing your hand and kissing it.

“Thank..you Eve.” He says he didn’t think you’d give up that easily.

But I guess he could thank your dead parents for making you easy to manipulate.

Maybe another day he can tell you the truth about them, but for now.

He just wanted to be with you, he’d hate to see you cry, especially if he’s not the cause.

i’ve watched the diabolik lovers anime in like 2017 and i’ve been a fan since then but i never read the manga or the games and i’ve been wondering about how the diaboys actually are with feelings ?? cuz i read lots of fics and opinions and it always varies from they can’t feel love AT ALL and they’re downright horrible and then in the manga i guess ? they’re actually not that bad and they say ayato is pure or smth ? but if we consider the anime they really seem like they’re incapable of love

I know some individuals prefer to emphasize on the psychological/horror sides of DL, but let's not forget that it's still a franchise with a lot of romantic moments, and it's been proven multiple times that the Diaboys can sincerely love someone. Sure, it wasn't easy at first, and some of them seemed hopeless, but Yui never gave up on them and showed compassion, which is what they most craved. They stopped seeing Yui as a blood bag and began to love her for herself thanks to Yui’s good heart.

One thing about the Sakamakis is that they all put on a façade. The fake Laito is a pervert, but the real one despises such things; the fake Shu is lazy, but the real one is depressed; the fake Reiji is proud, but the real one is incredibly insecure; the fake Subaru is violent, but the real one is kind; the fake Kanato is a lunatic, but the real one just feels like nobody can understand him and now… the fake Ayato is selfish, but the real one is pure-hearted.

Since you brought it up, I enjoy the anime, but yeah, it made all of the characters less likeable than in the games. In the anime, Ayato appears insane when he ends Cordelia off, yet in the games, specifically in the MB flashbacks, he is seen crying when she dies. He did bad things out of instinct or because he has had enough, but he ends up regretting those and feeling guilty afterwards. Throughout the games, you'll notice how he forgives the ones who have wronged him + attempts to help them and not only in his own routes. Him being pure-hearted plays a big role in his character, since even Laito mentioned being envious of him for that reason and that’s why you’ll have to witness fans or Rejet mentioning it.

HIS VERY OWN

Some time had passed since Eve chose her Adam. Komori Yui and Sakamaki Shu were now trying to have a serious relationship. Thus the task of the Mukami family was fulfilled and there was no longer a reason for Mukami Ruki to tempt Eve. However, by order of Sakamaki Karlheinz, the Mukamis were to remain in Kaminashi City and continue to attend school. Ruki was not happy with this and suffered from boredom.

At the beginning of April, Tsukino Yuriko moved from Kyoto to Kaminashi City. On her first day of school, she went to the school library before classes, looking for interesting books. Lost in thoughts, she suddenly stumbled into someone. That someone was none other than Mukami Ruki.

Of course, Yuriko immediately excused. But Ruki reacted rudely and arrogantly, calling her a clumsy livestock. Intimidated and annoyed, Yuriko cursed in her mind, but was unable to speak her thoughts aloud. Instead, she tried to make Ruki friendly again with another apology. Unfortunately her attempt failed.

Ruki's sadistic side broke through and he was amused by the scared woman. Due to her reaction the vampire decided to play a game and chose Yuriko as his new prey. Pushing her against a bookshelf, Ruki messed with her. The sadist enjoyed how the fear inside her grew.

Fortunately for Yuriko, the school bell ended the mental torture. As if nothing had happened, Ruki turned around and disappeared. Stunned by the incident in the library and with trembling legs, Yuriko dragged herself to the classroom. Once there, she had to find out that Ruki was one of her new classmates.

Yuriko's admin (@yuriko-mukami) and I (@ruki-mukami-dl) have been writing Yuriko's and Ruki's story since January 2022. Due to the roleplay writing style and the enormous length/word count, we decided to keep the original writing private. However, we wanted to give you an insight into Rukiko's world and will now gradually post summaries of His Very Own. We are still continuing the story and hope that we can do this for a long time. You did the most normal thing possible for a blogger and fan of the DL series by voicing, I emphasize YOUR OPINION, which is so ill-advised and stunted as a "way to foment hatred" towards the sweetest, most handsome possible boy, not only for DL but also for every past and future game (because everyone is copying Ayato's design so they can make a profit. Even in games older than DL where any of the characters have Ayato-like traits, they must have traveled to the future, that they saw Ayato and his success and finally decided to steal 😂).

However, in the eyes of his followers, he is unsurpassed, so if there is a better one than him, it is unforgivable, and there are such, and not in everything, but in different aspects such as beauty, kindness, big brain, etc. Of course, each of the boys possesses almost every one of these characteristics, but certain of them predominate.

That's how there's something for every fan, that's how diversity is created, and when you're already thinking about combining everything in just one of the characters - it's already the desperate need to add characteristics that he doesn't have at all just to do it perfectly.

Respect for writing the inconvenient truth about Ayato stans. Would you believe me if I told you that for years I was a part of this very toxic community? It might sound crazy and exaggerated, but I was one of Ayato's biggest fans when the games and anime were at their peak. That's also why I got on tumblr so I could look up more and more information about him, and here it was in abundance.

But when the first game came out I was in my teenage years and not very mature in terms of analyzing characters. That's why I relied on the blogs here without even trying to check if the information was true or not. At the time, I only played the routes of the guys I liked the most, and Ayato was my favorite of them.

And when I saw people praising and singling him out so much but at the same time saying things like "Shuu was much more abusive with Yui in terms of insults and embarrassment than Ayato". And guess what I said to myself without even checking for myself playing his route as well - “Wow, and people from other blogs are making so much mention that he's one of the best bros.” And whoops, I already had an opinion about Shu.

So, over time, I got involved with the routes of the other guys, I started contacting people who were genuinely excited about analyzing each of the characters as much as possible. People who have an objective opinion on absolutely the entire game and each of the guys as they don't hesitate to point out their flaws no matter how much they like any of the guys mentioned.

Then I realized how blindly I had believed every single word about Ayato, every single criticism of Shu and Kou, every single insult to Laito. And Ayato suddenly lost that favoritism in my eyes. No, I don't hate him at all, on the contrary, he will remain my favorite boy, but I have learned to accept him with all his faults, and they are not few at all.

However, something happened last year that almost completely cut me off from the DL fandom.It was an incident I will never forget and it really disgusted me with Ayato stans. It was about a blogger who expressed a similar opinion to yours - about Ayato's traumas and the torture he was subjected to by Cordelia. So this particular person just pointed out that Ayato's anguish as a child was a bit exaggerated compared to Laito's or Mukami's.

And indeed then there was a huge wave of pity for Ayato, it literally caused a tsunami on tumblr. Well, guess what followed next… Some ugly attacks, insults and copy-paste “opinions” and “facts” that didn't stop for a week. This disgusted me immensely.

I understand feeling sorry for your favorite character, but going and picking on people for voicing THEIR OPINION, which THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY ENTITLED to, because it's their blog and no one is forcing you to follow! This guy had pointed out actual facts from the game and justified why he thought so several times, but you can't argue with a bunch of angry teenagers who clearly haven't read any route other than Ayato's with self-proclaimed "facts" already hammered home by someone.

And I say that as someone who has been through it. Well, that still didn't stop me from following DL and being curious about the new stuff or posts from different people. But then it happened again. Some posts started in which again someone who apparently participated in the writing and inventing of the entire DL franchise categorically claimed that what he wrote were indisputable facts that could not be disputed because they were canon!

End, period, you have no right to an opinion and no one demands it from you! Oi! That was the most idiotic thing I have ever read in my entire life, seriously! For these Ayato stans, their word was law, their opinion, which they apparently considered the only true one, was pure and absolute, indisputable fact.

Anyone other than them who wants to express his opinion, no matter how objective and unbiased it may be, has no right, because they automatically stick a label on your forehead with the following words: "another one of those who don't understand anything, read through the lines, hate Ayato and with this they are trying to elevate their favorite, they are fanning the flames of hatred.”

I'm not kidding, I've come across these platitudes so many times that I already know them by heart. Finally, there was discrimination. Some ridiculous accusations started against the western fandom, it was very toxic, that they didn't understand Japanese culture and so on and so forth…

Am I to understand that being a fan of a Japanese game or anime means you speak perfect Japanese, grew up and lived in Japan to be able to enjoy or even constructively criticize anything related to Japanese works? By this logic, the Japanese also have no right to criticize Western movies and games, where there is a wide variety of things that are not specific to their culture, such as nudity, weapons, drugs, sexual activities, and so on.

I understand if you're so blinded by a fictional character who can't be affected in any way in real life because he literally DOESN'T EXIST, but I personally think you should take a nice break from this fandom, go to therapy, to help yourself. I say that for your own good because there were also many such posts where Yui was accused of being selfish for only accepting the sweet and idealized version of Ayato in her head. Pfff... This is probably some kind of irony 🤦‍♀️

Was I rude, yes! Was it necessary in my opinion, yes. I've been turning a blind eye to all this nonsense for almost 2 years now and haven't allowed myself to opine until now because it's perfectly acceptable for me to spew this nonsense on your own blogs, which I avoid.

But I don't know the last time I've witnessed these oh-so-toxic Ayato stans go around attacking and pushing their pathetic copy-paste excuses for "facts" trying to impose their own twisted views in an attempt to shut up the people who actually they want to enjoy the fandom and contribute something interesting to them.

People learn to accept other people's opinions! Yes, I know that when you like a character or a person it's harder to see their flaws, so you have to be open to a different opinion than ours, because the other person sees things differently. A fan who cannot discover, accept and embrace the flaws of his favorite cannot be called a true fan.

And I say this because in this way we cannot remain objective in a given situation. Understand that when two heroes are compared and one beats the other in a given category it is not done for the purpose of humiliation and praise. This is possibly one of the best ways to discover the strengths and weaknesses of both.

Sorry about all of this, if you wish you may not post it, but I am really sick of putting up with all of this for years. I love your blog and have been following it for a long time and I'm glad you're one of the few sane people left here.

dw I post every ask be it hate or appreciation because I love listening to your guys' opinions. and yeah reading your ask made me feel better, because I myself at start was manipulated by it, not in the sense I believed everything but like whenever I doubted anything they said about Ayato's perfect image, they would pull up their facts, and screenshots from the official contents because they are canon. this was also one of the reason that even though I was inactive for two years, yet I never checked any DL contents because it felt overwhelmed. It's not Ayato or Ayato stans we hate but people who just think it's right to "idolize" ayato yet say, we are just stating canon facts and overhype by throwing shade at other boys.

I get it they treated him like that, so did they to each other in respective routes??? like ayato is no saint even he did things to Yui and diaboys in other routes. also what Ayato did in Ruki's route is still questionable because MB came out a long time ago and youngblood came a just a few years ago. sometimes people come up with new plot even after something is released already. I hope you get what I'm saying because even for me english is my second language and I just came back from exams, sorry.

so yeah at that time there was no curse, only ayato being thirsty for you as a predator & seeing her nothing but food so yep that's some "ayato did this because he was cursed" delusional analysis just to not make Ayato look bad. Chapter Selection

The cafe was cozy and offered a wide selection of different types of sweets. So, the place couldn’t have been more perfect for Yuriko to meet up with Elizabeth who had been sneaked out of the Sakamaki mansion. Well, perhaps “sneaked out” wasn’t quite putting it correctly, since the zombie girl wasn’t a prisoner. She was still allowed to come and go as she wished most of the time. Though Yuriko wondered if the Sakamakis truly let her Elizabeth see Tsukinami Shin, a Founder whom the girl had taken a liking to. It seemed rather unlikely. Hence it could be that Elizabeth had to do a little creeping around after all.

Yuriko bit into a cupcake filled with cream and dark chocolate. The soft and bitter tastes exploded on her tongue, tingling her senses perfectly, but her thoughts traveled back to the moment she had seen her friends last time. Right after the escape from the Kitsune village.

I wonder if they’ll come after Yuuto and me. Yuriko sighed and tried to focus on the cupcake. But maybe Shin made sure they would leave us alone. It seemed he has a special connection with the Kitsune.

Yuriko had already known that the Kitsune had made some kind of deal with the Founders. Before the summer vacation, she had found a book in the school’s library, and she had been reading it more and more. While most of the content didn’t say anything about the Kitsune, there were several tiny hints that the foxes in the Demon World were tied to the Founders.

“Are you going to stare into the void for this whole time, Yuri-Yuri?” Elizabeth’s voice sailed into Yuriko’s ears. “Do you already miss Ruki so much?”

Blinking, Yuriko lifted her gaze. “Eh? But… he only left yesterday.” She shook her head so fast that her light curls danced around her face and tickled her cheeks. “I mean… Of course, I would prefer him to be here with me, but I’m not worried. He has visited Eden before. He’ll come back soon.”

“I’m only teasing you~” Elizabeth took a huge bite from her pie. “Mhh, thiz iz perfect!”

“Umh…” Yuriko smiled, her cheeks getting hot, and whirled ice cubes in her glass of iced tea. “Anyway, how have you been? Anything new?” 

“Nothing much…” Elizabeth stopped, pondering. Her tiny fingers patted her porcelain white cheek before starting to play with her ebony strands. “Things have been a bit calmer after Yui came back. It’s good that Shu went to get her… Though, I’m sorry about Yuma’s bedroom.”

“Well, from my understanding, he burned it on his own…” Yuriko still wondered what had been going on with Yuma. Oh, how she wished that he could be happier. “But I’m glad that Komori-san is back with Shu-san. It was terrible to listen to her pleading…”

“I believe you. Now, she is spending most of her time taking care of Shu while all he does is laze around…” Suddenly, a light sparkled in Elizabeth’s eyes. “Actually, did you know that Shu left for Eden as well?” 

“Eh? Really?” Yuriko blinked. Ruki hadn’t mentioned that the eldest Sakamaki had also been invited into the meeting with Karlheinz, who was both the Vampire king and Shu’s father, but also Ruki’s… great benefactor as he expressed the matter. Yuriko liked to think that this intimidating man was Ruki’s adoptive father, and while she was a bit afraid of the said king, she was still happy that Ruki had at least one parent who cared about him.

Still, it was a bit odd that Ruki hadn’t mentioned anything that Shu was going with him. Hadn’t he known about it? Yuriko shifted in her chair. She had other things to worry about. It was possible that Karlheinz simply wanted his eldest sons to pay a visit and nothing more.

“Yes, it’s true. Yui was a bit taken aback because of that… and I suggested that she should have come with us here. But then Reiji said she doesn’t have the same kind of arrangements as I do. So, she had to stay in the mansion.”

Pressing her lips, Yuriko sighed. “Maybe it’s because she is Eve. They have to keep a close eye on her. She is the most important woman in the world.”

“It’s stupid. She should be allowed to live her life as she wishes. If she is that important, they should treat her like a queen, not like… hmph.”

“Mhh… but we can’t do much about it. I guess it’s her destiny or something.” Yuriko couldn’t say she completely understood the whole Eve and Adam thing. Even after the explanation from Ruki, she still couldn’t put her finger into it. Why there was a need for Eve and Adam? Why the new species were such an important matter? In the end, both Komori Yui and Sakamaki Shu were two people in love, and that was all that mattered. 

Sipping her tea, Yuriko listened as Elizabeth went on about how she had tried to convince Sakamaki Reiji to let the Komori girl come with her. Yet, Reiji had been as strict as ever, not minding at all Elizabeth’s reasoning.

While the girl was talking, something hit Yuriko’s nose. She took a deep breath, glancing around. Yuuto? But no, she couldn’t locate her brother. Instead, she saw two males who stepped into the cafe and stood out with their ivory-shaded hair, almost like Yuriko’s but they had no blueish tips. Two pair of amber-yellow eyes locked with hers, making her stomach churl. 

The Kitsune from the Demon World!? Yuriko was about to choke on her iced tea. Her heart took a leap. But… but… they can’t do a thing! This is a public place… And wait? Didn’t Yuuto say that he was the only one with white hair there? Then… I’m imagining things. That must be. They are just foreigners…

“But that’s enough of that… I want to know about you and that handsome man you brought from the Demon World!” Elizabeth suddenly giggled.

Yuriko blinked, coughing the tea when she heard Elizabeth mentioning the place she had just been thinking about. It took a while for her to understand who her friend had asked about. “Yuuto?” 

“Yes, yes. I want to meet him soon again. He seemed cool and he looks so much like you, Yuri-Yuri. He has the same fluffy hair as you.”

“True… not even our mother had the same fluffiness in her hair. It was always long and straight.” Now, that Yuriko stopped thinking about that fact, she realized it was true. Her father, Keisuke, had much fluffier hair than her mother. Perhaps, Yuriko and Yuuto had inherited this one trait from their father. Of course, Yuriko also had his eyes… but she knew that it was possible to bring out her amber-yellow fox eyes too. 

“Oh… your mother…” Elizabeth swallowed. “I’m so sorry about her. Did you… have… a funeral?”

Shaking her head, Yuriko felt how a tight ring squeezed her heart. She had only said her personal prayers and talked with Yuuto a bit, but that was all. In the eyes of the world, Tsukino Hisoka was still missing, and there was nothing Yuriko could do about it. She couldn’t go to tell the officials that Hisoka was dead, killed by the Kitsune tribe in the Demon World. Probably, Keisuke hadn’t done that either… wherever he was right now.

“It’s okay, Eli-chan. I’m okay… She has been gone for years now. This changes nothing.” Of course, that wasn’t completely true, but it was all Yuriko could say at that moment. She didn’t want to think about how Hisoka had been distant for most of her childhood and then finally left for Yuuto. Perhaps, Yuriko’s mother had always been mentally with her brother. Just like her father’s heart too.

I wasn’t wanted…

“Oh no… Now, I made you feel bad. I’m sorry, Yuri-Yuri. I didn’t want to ruin our moment!” Elizabeth darted up from her chair. The feet of the seat screeched against the floor as she pushed it back and hurried to Yuriko, wrapping her arms around the Kitsune woman. 

Yuriko shoved her glass aside, enveloping her friend’s tiny body as well. She pressed her face into the silky hair even though the stink of death tickled her nostrils the second she did so. She would never complain about it.

“Eli-chan… don’t worry so much…” Yuriko placed her palms on Elizabeth’s shoulders, nudging her friend into an arm's length. “Everything will be fine. And I’m happy with Ruki. Now, I have a future and a new life. I don’t need to look at what has been left behind.”

Curling her lips up, Yuriko traced Elizabeth’s upper arms, reaching for her forearms and finally hands. She laced their fingers, clenching hers slightly. As she lifted their hands, Elizabeth’s sleeves slid down, revealing her skin.

Yuriko blinked. 

Punctual marks. But they were singular and in Elizabeth’s crook of the arm. As Yuriko looked more carefully, she realized that both of Elizabeth’s arms were like that. And there were faded bruises too. 

“Eli-chan…? What is this?” Yuriko raised her friend’s arm more, staring at the marks. Those didn’t look like Vampire bites unless the said Vampire was missing a fang.

“Nothing, nothing!” Elizabeth yanked her hands from Yuriko’s grip. She hurried back to her seat, slipping in it and pulling her tea closer. “Absolutely nothing.” She tugged her sleeves down.

“That didn’t look like nothing. What happened?” Yuriko gave her friend a sharp glance. “You can tell me, Eli-chan.”

“It’s just…” Elizabeth started to squirm. Her gaze turned inwards just before she let it sink into the void of her tea. “My aunt… You remember that she made a deal with the Vampire king?”

“Yes, with Karlheinz-sama.”

“Right. Well… the deal was that…” Elizabeth swallowed. “I must give my blood to Reiji. I’m not quite sure what he is doing but I think it’s some kind of research for Karlheinz.”

Yuriko frowned. Why would the Vampire king want to study the zombie blood? And it didn’t seem that Elizabeth was willingly participating in all this.

“That’s why… I must stay with them. They will keep me safe. No one is allowed to come after me or they will get rid of the chaser. And I’m paying with my blood.” Elizabeth smiled, yet Yuriko was sure that the gesture was forced. “It’s a bit like Ruki and you. I know you’re giving your blood to him, and he gives you protection.”

“Eli-chan, that’s completely different. I love Ruki… and he loves me.” Yuriko sighed. “Or… or have you fallen for Reiji-san?”

“What?! No, no, no! I have no such feelings! Don’t say such things, Yuri-Yuri! Someone could hear us and misunderstand! Then we would be in a deep mess!” Elizabeth’s eyes turned into wide pools as she shook her head. “It’s just an arrangement and I’m okay. There is nothing bad about wanting protection. And that way I can spend time with you too.”

“I… I believe you…” But Yuriko truly didn’t. She had no idea why Karlheinz would want the zombie blood, but it sounded ominous. If Elizabeth had told that she was giving her blood out of love, Yuriko would have accepted that without doubts. But this was something else.

Can we truly trust in Karlheinz-sama? I know, I shouldn’t think like that since he is so important to Ruki but… I can’t help it…

“You better.” Elizabeth crossed her arms in front of her chest and glanced at Yuriko. Then suddenly her face lit up. “Yuri-Yuri! Did you hear the news? The shooting star during the day?”

Yuriko blinked. “Eh? I… haven’t watched or read any news recently.” She couldn’t recall any mention of such an incident. But she had been busy with her own matters, so it wasn’t that odd.

“Yui actually saw it! She was looking out of a window and then she saw the star falling. She thought it was near to the Mukami manor but perhaps she was wrong since you don’t know about it…” Elizabeth tilted her head to the side and took a sip from her tea. “It must have been bright since it was visible during the day. I read the news, and they said that the officials couldn’t locate it later. Such a mystery!”

“Yes, sounds like it. Maybe we should become detectives and solve it~” Yuriko giggled, grabbing her glass again and relaxing. Elizabeth almost jumped up and down in her chair. “Yes, yes! You know, I read this detective story…”

The minute Elizabeth disappeared around the corner, Yuriko pulled out her phone and started texting. 

Shin, did you know that Reiji-san is taking Eli-chan’s blood? He’s not biting her but using instruments and the blood is used for research. I can’t do anything about it… but I thought you should be aware…

Pressing the send button, Yuriko sighed. Had she just done something bad? She probably shouldn’t mess with her friend’s relationship, but she couldn’t help being worried about what she had just learned.

“Yu-ri-ko-chan~ Already texting Ruki-kun? You know he can’t read those messages before he is back in the Human World.” A whisper with a teasing note on it almost made Yuriko jump. “Also, I’m offended. You should have texted me that you’re already free. Now, I had to hear that from a familiar. Rude, Yuriko-chan!”

Pushing her phone into her bag, Yuriko arranged her face and turned around. Yet, she couldn’t hide the heat that coursed up her cheeks when she met the eyes that reminded her of the sky on heated days like this. “I… I’m sorry, Kou-kun… I was going to text you next.”

“Next? That won’t do. I should be your first priority now that Ruki-kun has gone to Eden.” Kou leaned in, staring directly into Yuriko’s eyes. “I brought you here and I let you hang out with M-zombie-chan. It’s give and take but it seems you are only taking, Yuriko-chan. I can’t have that.”

Shifting, Yuriko took a step back, but Kou grabbed her wrist, not letting her wander any further away. She swallowed, trying to gather her thoughts. She had to admit that Ruki’s brothers were still a bit terrifying at times… and Kou especially was tough to read. “I… I can cook for you when we go back home…”

“Tempting~ But no, that’s not what I want…” Kou yanked Yuriko’s arm, making her stumble so badly that she hit her body against his. Hastily, she pressed her palm on his chest, straightening up. 

“Then… then what…?”

Kou tilted his head, chuckling while showing the tips of his fangs. “What do you think, Yuriko-chan~? Ruki-kun isn’t here now, so I think we should have fun of our own. You know how he is… always so strict and telling us what we can do and what we can’t do. But now, he can’t say anything if… I’ll have my way with you~”

“Oh my gosh!” Yuriko clapped her free hand over her mouth, gazing around. A couple of people glanced at them while walking past, some of them shaking their heads. She even noticed the foreigners from the cafe standing close by, glaring at Kou and her. An unbearable hotness washed over Yuriko. This was so embarrassing. They were being a bother to everyone else but not only that. She absolutely wouldn’t give Kou what he wanted from her. Yet she didn’t know how to get out of this situation. Kou was almost acting like… like Sakamaki Laito back when he… But of course, this was different. Right? “Kou-kun… I… I…”

“You can’t say no, Yuriko-chan. You are in debt to me and now it’s time for the payment~” Kou smirked. “Your face is telling me that you can’t wait for it either. Come on, let’s go.”

“No! I’m not coming.” Yuriko pressed her heels on the street with all the strength she could gather. “Ruki… Ruki is the only one… who can do that.”

“Eh? Are you serious, Yuriko-chan? That’s so boring! That way you’ll never get the true experience…” 

“I… I don’t need it. I only need Ruki.”

“You don’t know it if you don’t try it out~” Kou winked. 

“But —”

“Come on, I’ll even buy you a dress that will impress him~”

“I can’t —” Yuriko blinked. A dress? “Are… are you talking about… shopping?”

“Of course, I am. Just what were you thinking, Yuriko-chan?” Kou let go of her wrist, still chuckling. “Now, I get it. Ruki-kun must like that dirty mind of yours. Come on, let’s go get you a dress to match it~”

When Kou moved toward the mall, Yuriko couldn’t do anything else than follow him, for Ruki had directly told her to listen to his brothers and always stay with either them or their familiars. Kou had left one to monitor the meeting between Yuriko and Elizabeth while he had… Actually, Yuriko didn’t know what Kou had been up to in between but she decided it was better not to figure that out.

“So, have you visited any shops with, Ruki-kun?” Kou stepped in from the sliding doors, and Yuriko hurried after him. Refreshing coolness swiped her skin in the instant, making her inhale deeply.

“Mhm! Yes, he took me shopping for some spring and summer clothes earlier.”

Kou stopped, glancing at Yuriko from head to toe several times until not even the air conditioning in the mall could help her. The Vampire shook his head and clicked his tongue. “That skirt is way too long for your legs. You should show more of your skin. And that T-shirt… Haa… We’ll be here for a long time. You better hope I won’t get thirsty.”

“I’ll buy you a melon soda!” Yuriko gazed down at her skirt. Too long? But Ruki had said the length was perfect. And what was wrong with her T-shirt?

“Seriously, Yuriko-chan?” Kou sighed as Yuriko voiced out her thoughts. “You have some good assets there. You should use them to your advantage.”

“Advantage?”

“Yes. To get what you want from Ruki-kun.”

“And what’s that?”

“Am I supposed to know that?” Kou shook his head again. “So dirty mind, yet so innocent. I can’t believe it. Come on!”

Grabbing Yuriko’s wrist again, Kou walked her through the entrance hall and to the escalator until they reached the fifth floor filled with brand shops and lingerie stores Yuriko had never visited, for she knew perfectly well she couldn’t afford anything from those. With Ruki, she had gone for better and more expensive shops than she had used before… but Kou’s choices were the next level. And Yuriko didn’t want even to think about how much she would owe Kou if she allowed him to buy anything for her from these boutiques.

“Look at these, Yuriko-chan~” Kou continued in a small store with dresses Yuriko hadn’t even dared to glance at before. Such short hems and much lace, almost see-through material with revealing necklines.

“I… I… I can’t wear those!” She tried to take a step back.

“Oh, you can… Just pick up your favorite and see if it fits.” Kou started to go through the racks, hoisting clothes from here and there, giving Yuriko a glance in between. “You want to seduce Ruki-kun or not? Hurry up!”

“I… never said I wished to do… such a thing…” Yuriko took a short yellow garment but pushed it right back to its place when she saw it was open from behind leaving the carrier’s butt bare.

“Don’t think we don’t know what goes on behind those closed doors. You should show your master how much a good girl you are~”Oh – my – gosh! Yuriko wanted to sink through the floor. Yet she couldn’t escape this abyss. Somehow, she needed to survive it, and it was becoming clear that if she didn’t choose something, Kou would do that in her stead. And there was no way she could wear something he had decided for her.

Sofia Sakamaki (ソフィア Sakamaki Sofia) is the only daughter and the youngest member of the Sakamaki family. She is the youngest daughter of Karlheinz Sakamaki, the Vampire King, and Angelica Amor-Sakamaki, Karlheinz's fourth wife, with Akira being her only full blooded older brother.

Appearance

Sofia is an adorable young girl with slightly wavy light pink hair and lightly tanned skin that she inherited from her mother and grandmother, with her liquid gold eyes from her father Karlheinz. Like her mother Angelica, Sofia has a beauty mark, but it's located near her lip like her older brother Laito. She has pierced ears, which she's had ever since she was a baby. Sofia wears some of her hair in little buns decorated with black ribbons.

For attire, Sofia wears a white lace shirt with long billowy sleeves, a red pendant, a black buttoned vest, a black skirt, dark grey leggings, and black Mary Jane shoes.

Her Nevermore Academy school uniform consists of her wearing a raven black dress with long sleeves and silver embellishments, a little white ribbon at the base of her neck, white stockings, and black flats.

Personality

Sofia is a kind and empathetic girl, which is a bit surprising considering who her family is and her background. But considering that her mother and older brothers made sure to keep her as innocent as possible, it shouldn't be that surprising.

Because of her close relationship with her family, Sofia likes to do different types of activities with them based on their similar interests: with Kanato and Laito, she likes to play dress up games.

Her empathy helps her make friends with others rather easily, like with Yui. Because Sofia cares for her well-being, she was able to become close with the blonde despite her new and scary situation.

Due to her being the youngest and the only girl in the Sakamaki family, she has the most freedom, which is something that her brothers are a little jealous about, but that's something they don't blame Sofia for.

Despite being considered to be the most "well mannered" among her siblings, Sofia can be a bit of an instigator and mischief maker when she wants to be, though she doesn't take things too far.

History

Sofia is the youngest child of the Sakamaki family and also the only girl. Because of this, her father Karlheinz decided not to have her be a part of his "Adam and Eve" plan, allowing the young vampire to live a relatively normal life.

Her mother and brothers raised her in the human realm due to the fact that they had moved from Eden to Japan sometime before her birth. Sofia was given a lot of love by her parents and brothers, and was sheltered from some of the horrors that could occur in the demon realm.

Sofia, however, is aware that her father had married three other women before marrying her mother, meaning that she knows her brothers are only related to her through their father. This didn't make her love them any less, because she doesn't see why she'd need to care because they're still family to her. However, Sofia is also semi-aware of the treatment Cordelia, Beatrix, and Christa gave to her brothers, making not have very high opinions of the three women, especially Cordelia.

When Sofia was old enough to read and write, Karlheinz had her enrolled to Nevermore Academy, a famous and prestigious school in the demon realm. However, due to Sofia living in the human realm at the time, it would be a bit difficult for her to attend the school. Karlheinz made a compromise with the school to have them send the schoolwork to the Sakamaki mansion, and he'll have the homework sent back with the help of a familiar for it to be graded.

Sofia is the only member of her family to be attending a different school: while the brothers attend Ryoutei Academy in the human realm, she is a student at Nevermore Academy, which is located in the demon realm.

Sofia is ambidextrous, though her most dominant hand is her right one.

She likes to be Angelica and Reiji's taster tester whenever they're cooking.

Sofia is a fan of Kou Mukami and his music.

She considers Yui to be a sister, and even hopes that one day she'll be her sister-in-law, though which of her brothers she wants Yui to marry is unclear.

Sofia has many aunts, uncles, and cousins from her mother's side of the family that live either in California or Mexico.

Her favorite book is Anne of Green Gables, with her second favorite being Little Women.

Sofia's brothers tend to argue over who is her favorite, though when they decided to ask her, Sofia simply says that she doesn't have a favorite because she doesn't want to hurt their feelings.
