Fun fact - krill are NOT shrimp!! ❌🦐❌ they are crustaceans though!

I lost the post on my dash where this would have been a fun addition but these are the krill that blue whales eat! Some people think krill are like nearly microscopic or something but they are very decently sized shrimps

One of the blue ones borderline refused to leave the net but overall they're all happily grazing on biofilm in the tank.

Our dude is having a Bad Time at the novelty tapas bar from hell heaven! From the excellent Ch. 23 of @whamgram's Charlastor fanfic, Under My Skin. Thank you for another great chapter!

While there's plenty to enjoy in this chapter (and emotionally unpack, hoo boy), the image of Alastor suffering donut chair and shramps while wearing the fashion equivalent of a candy coating? 10/10, ricocheting around in my brain like a pinball while demanding to be drawn. So here we are!

Instead of donuts and dogs this week we went down to the beach to tide pool. Singularly underwhelming experience. We timed low tide right but the beach did not have enough crevices for really good tide pools.

We saw some businesslike crows sifting which was fun, a tiny sea star, exactly one open underwater anemone (but a lot of closed up ones that we bothered). We were pretty bummed until we found a spot with a ton of micro crabs and some just very small crabs.

Then we went for ice cream.
