I just entered the Rangiora A&P Show next month 😳😳😳

Anyway check out Ed and his new best friend from last Sunday 🥰🥰

I present to you all, The Moose - Moose is currently in Bastard Jail cause he's come back completely feral from his time off in the spelling paddocks after retiring from racing.

Why Moose you say? Well, he's an incredibly large unit standing just shy of 18hh, with a huge ass head and tends to lumber around like one, too.

He's got the over-sized carriage horse look going on rn cause the fucker let the yearlings in the paddock next to him chew off his beautifully long and thick tail😭🙄 but he's come back to the yard for re-education and for a hopeful career in the show horse/hunter ring 😌 and if he sucks at that, I might just persuade my coach to let me give him a spin in dressage cause he has some pretty nice gaits and hopefully we can turn him into an eventer if all else fails 😂

Plus, he's the most comfortable thoroughbred you can ride bareback 😍 we've taken him to the beach prior to his spell and it was a genuinely pleasant experience and felt super secure cause of how wide he is 😌 can't say the same for when I rode Nep bareback, that's for sure 😭😂

ok so, unfortunately charlie was just not the right fit for me or my parents, he had a lot of health issues which caused him to have prescription medicine which we could simply not afford. he is now owned by my friend autumn. I'm sad honestly, but she said i could still ride him if i wanted to. we are looking for a new show horse and this is the one we are looking at, what do you think?

i think she looks like a good fit for me!

What an amazing day out at the Rangiora A&P! 🤩🤩

Mister Ed was his usual self (fan favourite as always of course 😜) and never put a foot wrong, he tried his little heart out the whole time and I’m so stoked with how he’s gone! Gave cantering a go every time I asked (even in a tiny arena!), stood and waited so patiently while we faffed and fussed, he was an absolute champ the whole day 🤩

Inhand was a HUGE section with 11 in the ring, ridden was much quieter but he placed in almost every class he entered! 7 ribbons from 9 classes, I’d say that’s a winning score 🙌

Both inhand and ridden sections we were ALSO third runner-up for champion both times!! 😱

I’m SO stoked with how today’s gone, couldn’t have asked for a better first introduction to A&Ps! Goober just keeps outperforming himself every time he comes off the float no matter what we’re up to - lots of positive comments from the judge, stewards, and spectators about his dude-ness and personality, was an amazing day and everyone was so friendly and welcoming to us newbies 🥰🥰
