Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media

tamanyan h46mode uni excerpt
"i couldn't [as in, would not be able to, due to one's own volition - i will not allow myself to] say something like 'it's difficult' in such a blessed environment"
the schedules during the 'shinzanmono' rehearsal period were very challenging. after we finished the fukuoka leg of the 2023 happy train tour, the following morning, i flew back to tokyo and went to university straightaway, and right after that, i attended the shinzanmono rehearsals....... every day was hectic, but enjoyable.
everybody in the 4th generation was facing forward with the same feelings, and, despite the rehearsals that went on for a long time, there wasn't a single person who let up [become less intense; relax one's efforts], which made me believe that i shouldn't be complaining feebly either. that atmosphere reminded me of club activities, where everyone's doing their best with a feeling of "we absolutely HAVE to win this!", which is youth! once practice was over, all of us gathered in a circle and we reviewed the day's rehearsal, going like "today, this thing didn't go smoothly, which is why we should do it like this tomorrow", and this strengthened our will, as well as our bonds.
and once again, i realized just how blessed i am. i'm sure that there have been senpais who've had to give up taking up higher education. in comparison, [this is something that is able to happen now, also thanks to their past efforts] i'm able to be a member of hinatazaka46, while going to university, while my manager-san is working with all their might to put together a schedule [which would be able to accommodate going to university, along with everything else that is expected of an idol] too, while having a family that supports me, as well. i wouldn't be able to say something like "it's difficult" in such a blessed environment! i don't know how many years it will take, but i want to do my best and definitely end up graduating from university, someday.

"Kataru Nara Miraiwo..." by Keyakizaka46, as performed by the third generation of Sakurazaka46, at Shinzanmono, Dec. 3, 2023
The third-generation members of Sakurazaka performed "Kataru Nara Miraiwo...," a 2017 B-side from the group's days as Keyakizaka, as their very last song for their very last scheduled performance in Shinzanmono. The 10-day program featured live shows performed by each of the three Sakamichi groups whose line-ups were made up exclusively of their respective latest generations.
Since their reformation in 2020, Sakurazaka46 has laid to rest their older songs from their days as Keyakizaka. To date, the group has reserved those songs from that past era for a special occasion, performed mostly at a show dedicated to a graduating member who was active during those days. A presence of a Keyaki song in a live set has become increasingly symbolic, especially now that only two members from the first of its generation remain in the current line-up: it grants a rare moment for the group to look back at their own history, in particular a period they've swore to never return to.
But this revisit of "Kataru Nara Miraiwo…" marks a different, new occasion. The clip you see above doesn't include the intro speech given by Miu Murayama that really prefaces the choices made by the third gen to perform a Keyaki song and this Keyaki song in particular. To swear their commitment to follow the legacy built by their predecessors, they picked a song demanding, "if you're going to talk, talk about the future." They give it their all singing lyrics entirely dedicated to how dwelling on what came before is meaningless and looking forward is instead the right and only way.
How Keyaki is that? As shown by those who came before them, the third-gen understands to revere their own legacy means staying irreverent to the past and focus instead on what lies ahead. If they got what it takes to fulfill it is another story, but this performance is a promise to eradicate the previous generation and their successes, for that's what those who left would have wanted. They're doing right by the texts passed down from those of who built the group -- a text they are of the first generation not to have been around for in real time to truly feel its meaning. It's one of the best live performances I've seen in recent memory.

jdrama autumn 2020 (Oct #3)
Kiken na Venus | Dangerous Venus Stars: Tsumabuki Satoshi, Yoshitaka Yuriko This is based off a novel by best-selling author Higashino Keigo, whose works had been the basis for cult classics Shinzanmono, Byakuyakou, Ryusei no Kizuna and Galileo (as well as a whole bunch of movies). The reviews for the book is somewhat mixed - some enjoyed it a lot, and spoke of the "Venus" in the title as an analogy for human infatuation with their obsessions - which could be anything. Some felt the twist at the end came out of nowhere and the overall story was unexciting. I went into this for Tsumabuki - I always had a good impression of him, although I can't think of why since I don't think I've actually watched many of his movies. He is very natural and endearing on variety shows. Once the camera rolls, though, it's easy to see why Nino said he had always wanted to work with Tsumabuki. Teshima isn't a very likeable character - he's sleazy, indecisive, easily influenced, not steadfast in his beliefs, somewhat immature in his reading and judgement of social interactions. In a way, he's a man who has never really grown up past his childhood trauma and his difficult years in a home that never accepted him, but at the same time, he also didn't take any steps to make the situation better for himself. In a way he's symptomatic of the modern era - he has accepted the role of a victim, and instead of growing stronger so he can leave it behind, he carries it everywhere with him and pities himself. This is where Tsumabuki's impressive interpretation comes in. He actually makes this weak-willed guy likeable. The way he has his small temper explosions at the rest of his "family", the way he looks at Yoshitaka with fascination and suspicion, and the way he looks simultaneously embarrassed and proud of himself as he takes a stance. It's the subtlety that says "I know my vices, I know I might be being reckless or immature or gullible, and I guess I deserve what's coming". It's not something that all actors can pull off and he manages it with ease. Yoshitaka's role surprised me because I half expected her to be a femme fatale by the title, but she is her usual cute self - and perhaps that makes it more realistic for a man to feel like he needs to be the hero and protect her. Certainly but Tsumabuki and Yoshitaka are now big screen veterans, and it's such a pleasure watching their expressions shift subtly with the exchanges and interactions. By contrast, Fujioka Dean's acting comes across as much more exaggerated. Fortunately he's in a rather exaggerated villain role so it's less of an issue. I do recommend this, but I think revenge dramas are not overly popular these days and it's ratings will probably stay around 11%. Shichinin no Hisho | The seven secretaries Stars: Kimura Fumino et co Coming from the team who produced the unrealistically idealised Doctor X series, this appears to be a drama about a group of serving and former secretaries in a number of important organisations who band together and...it's not entirely clear what they do. They use unusual methods to ensure that society runs smoothly? They quietly remove all evidence of adultery? They stop other secretaries committing suicide? It's smoothly produced and led by a number of beautiful women in what appears to be quite strong and smart roles, but (perhaps not entirely unexpected from the Doctor X team), the first episode stumbles a bit in establishing what exactly their motivations are. The idea of top secretaries from big companies/corporations/government organisations doing cover-ups and tampering with evidence and trying to access confidential information, while not extraordinary, would be the start of many a conspiracy theory and I think it's important to establish quickly that these secretaries are doing it for a good cause, doing it out of their own volition, and are not being controlled by some dark schemeing hand. It's an easy watch but I really hope the team doesn't fall down the pit of Legal V where the characters just became annoying caricatures who never grew and were always in the right, even when they were doing something highly questionable.

Sekilas tentang film Shinzanmono

Hiroshi sangat bersedih atas kematian anaknya. Bukan begitu caranya melindungi anak tercintanya. Ia menyesal seumur hidup, merasa telah gagal menjadi seorang ayah.
Mencari Pelaku Pembunuhan Sebenarnya
Detektif Kyōichirō Kaga sangat berhati-hati menentukan siapa pelakunya.

naonaoblog snippet about yamagrad
a few days ago, mizuki-san's graduation was announced.
when it was announced that i had gotten sick and wouldn't be able to participate in the jingu stop of the national summer tour, mizuki-san sent me a kind message, which, at the time, really saved me.
even though mizuki-san was really busy, she always made time to come see the lives of the sakamichi groups, the under live and the 5th generation's shinzanmono alike, so i really respect her and i remember wanting to get as close to her as possible.
before i joined nogizaka, i heard mizuki-san talking about the painful times she experienced prior to being a member, which made me realize that there are girls in nogizaka who've had a hard time before becoming members [of the group], but [despite that,] they're now shining so brightly...
that episode was one of the reasons why i decided to audition for nogizaka.
i'd like to cherish the remaining time i have with mizuki-san, and do my best for the 35th single.
