"That's a confusing reward, a bit too general don't you think?" He can admit there was some insecurity on his part while staring at the bulky axe.

Lifting the weapon wasn't that much of an issue, but it was quite heavy for his frame.

"Huh? No no no- I can throw it. Don't worry about me. I've had my fair share of weapons like these. It's not a problem at all." A gentle reassurance that's a complete lie. He never held a weapon of this caliber.

He stared at the target set with surging confidence swarming through him. He threw the axe, but it landed on the grass right in front of the target.

"Uh....maybe the wind is too strong in this area..."

"You know we should definitely have an axe-throwing competition! The winner gets uuhhh....whatever they want and the loser gotta be the servant or whatever "

Despite coming from a wealthy family she is very humble and sees value in the simple things. Any secret is safe with her. She often feels like she has to take care of everything which often ends up with her taking control over everything and mothering people who don't want it. She's a logical thinker and loves learning and expanding her horizon. Being able to adapt to new situations fast, she can make quick and effective decisions even when faced with an unexpected event. Her Quirk gives her the ability to form bubbles out of her own spit. She can make bubbles of varying sizes, from teeny tiny to big enough to contain a person. Additionally only she can pop them. She can make three kinds of bubbles: 1) Impassable ones that no one can pass through, not even her! They are perfect for being used as protection against attacks 2) One-time-passable ones through which a person can pass only once and then the bubble becomes impassable. Perfect for protecting civilians and allies or imprisoning villains. 3)Passable ones that anyone can pass through (but not pop). These are mainly used to confuse opponents. Advantage: + The first 2 kinds of bubbles are perfect for protecting + There are no visible differences between the 3 kinds of bubbles so her opponent has to guess which kind it is Disadvantage: - She has to decide before making a bubble what kind she wants to make, once she started she can not change the kind of bubble - If she has not decided before making the bubble it will act just like a completely normal bubble (meaning it can be popped by the smallest contact) - Making very big bubbles takes time and the process can be disturbed when she has to cough - Depending on how big she makes them, she can only make a certain amount - They pop on their own when enough time has passed or when Shinju is knocked out. Backstory: Shinju's father Katashi was a villain. He only ever appeared disguised and using his transformation-type Quirk so his "real" appearance was unknown. He planned to break members of his old villain group out of prison when he noticed that he struggled more and more against heroes and feared that if he kept fighting alone he might be imprisoned too. He wanted to try and get closer to one of the influential families that maintained the high-security villain prisons to find out more about the prison and formulate a proper plan to break them out. Eventually he managed to insert himself into one of the families by starting a relationship with Shinju's mother, Manami Abe, through whom he hoped to get his hands on information about the prison. But the results did not come as fast as he wanted. His impatience and frustration started to seep in his relationship and it turned abusive. Because of his previous very careful and considerate beheaviour Shinju's mother continually excused and denied his abuse and thought that it'd stop it eventually. Shinju's father grew worried that his frustration and the resulting abuse might disturb his plans, if Manami chose to break up with him. So he came up with the idea to "secure" his relationship with Shinju's mother by having a child together. Since Shinju's mother also had a Quirk he hoped the child would inherit one of their Quirks or maybe even both and he could groom them to become a successor of sorts. Shortly after Shinju was born, her father put his plan to break his group out of prison in motion. He succeeded but his success was short-lived. A group of heroes quickly took up pursuit and eventually caught him, though not all members of his villain group were caught again. Shinju, who was taken by her father after the prisonbreak, was brought back to her mother. Manami, even though deeply hurt by Katashi, continued to take care of Shinju as her daughter. She recieved support from her family and was guarded by a personal hero in case one of the members of Katashi's villain group would show up. Manami later employed the guard permanently (on her father's wish). Shinju was lucky not to have inherited many traits from her father, which is one of the main reasons her mother could bear to raise her. The only thing reminiscient of his genes being the patches of silvery scales on Shinju's body. Her Quirk, too, ended up being that of her mother, which she could not be happier about as she feared that being more like him would cause her mother to hate her. She despises her father after being old enough to be told and understand what happened. She always tried to "take care" of her mother from a very young age, taking many responsibilites of off her so she doesn't have to worry about it. There was no personnel around for quite some times because Shinju's mother was afraid of having anyone outside of the direct family into the house, so Shinju took up the household chores and even learned how to cook very early. Even when her mother employed personnel again, she continued doing some of the chores. Shinju, being homeschooled, did not have that much interaction with people outside of her family and the housestaff. Her only "friend" was Fukasu, the child of the personal body guard hero who lived at their house. Shinju eventually decided to pursue a career as a hero to distance herself from her father as much as possible and also to appeal to her mother, signalizing to her that she will never become like her father. Once accepted into Yuuei she was assigned to class 1-A. Unfortunately for her her friend Fukasu, who also tried to get into Yuuei, failed the Entrance Exam. Relationships Family: Abe Manami - mother Shinju's relationship with her mother is complicated. While both love each other there is an underlying, barely there but still existing fear on both sides. Shinju fears her mother's rejection and being grouped with her father while Manami fears Shinju making a 180° turn and becoming just like Katashi. Both of them also violently try to reject that fear but it's still there. Shinju sees her mother as an incredibly strong person who could continue on living through such a devastating relationship. She tries her best to appeal to her mother and make her feel safe. Manami sees her daughter as the one "good thing that came out of her relationship with Katashi. Hamasaki Katashi - father Katashi knows next to nothing about Shinju and has not seen her after the heroes captured him. Shinju harbours nothing but resentment towards her father. She knows that he is in prison but has never and most likely will never go and see him. She is afraid to. OCs: Hokori Fukasu - childhood friend The child of Manami's personal body guard and Shinju's first real friend. They spent a lot of time together in their childhoods and still do today. When Shinju first started thinking about pursuing a career as a hero Fukasu was immidiately on board too. The two started to spend some of their time training their Quirks to prepare for the entrance exam. She was the one who got Shinju and Fuuro together. Kuroba Fūro - girlfriend They have been together since the end of their first year. The two first started talking to each other when Shinju became the class president and Fūro the vice class president. Fūro also befriended a childhood friend of Shinju: Fukasu who attended Shiketsu High and whom she met at times when meeting at Shinju's place. The two started spending even more time with each other and got to know each other better. Having to organize class events together both of them learned how to rely on each other. Shinju quickly finds herself enarmoured with Fūro and her ambitious and motivational nature. Fūro on the other hand falls for her over time, becoming smitten with Shinju's elegance and the way she carries herself as well as her caring and gentle nature. Fukasu has noticed the two developed feelings for each other and, after watching Fūro make hearteyes at Shinju day after day, she eventually convinced Fūro to make a move and the two got together. Fūro loves Shinju's smile, her eyes. She often strokes her scales absent-mindedly when they cuddle. Shinju loves being carried around and held by Fūro. It makes her feel safe and secure. She'd love Fūro to fly around with her but knows that her girlfriend has limits in her strength so that is only a dream (for now). With Fūro Shinju feels comfortable enough to talk about personal things, such as her father. Fūro knows when to let Shinju have her alone time, just as Shinju knows that Fūro needs her time for her frequent training. Both know they can rely on and trust the other. Shinju may see the value in simple things but she occasionally buys Fūro expensive gifts, just to impress her girlfriend a little. Since both have an interest for fashion (albeit different styles) they like going shopping together. Fūro sometimes takes Shinju out to eat at small, local restaurants which Shinju is fascinated by, only being used to either eating at home or going to expensive restaurants. At the end of a day the two also enjoy taking long walks on the beach together, Fūro watching lovingly as Shinju excitedly collects various seashells. "Well yes, but-" He sighed. "That would require so much energy out of me." The blizzard is getting worse, and a hindrance like that will only complicate their journey. "No, it's fine. I rather be moving on without freezing to death. Hold still, okay? This will only take a few seconds."

He released a white ball of energy before transferring it around them into a transparent forcefield, blocking out any wind currents aiming their way.

Unfortunately for him, he fell face first into the thick snowy floor, exhausted and mumbling incoherent whines of how his legs aren't working anymore.

"Eh..bleh eh....." Shin tried to form words, but none are coming out.

It's comforting to take a break from a five-hour trip on the road. They encountered some creatures such as werewolves, goblins and other otherworldly beings that linger around the area. He was just about done boiling a blue slime-like monster, the contents turning into a watery substance, with the flames turning the thick liquid into a thin texture.

The meat should be done soon as well, creating a beef soup for their liking.

His eyes were shut, sleepiness engulfing him as he leaned against her frame beside him. It was peaceful in these woods, especially the crackling of the firewood in front of them as he sat there, snuggled up against her like a rabbit cuddling up to a bear.

"And you'll make a great bed." He muttered absentmindedly before opening his eyes wide from what he said.

"Oh uh-" He coughed into his hand. "What am I doing? The soup should be ready. Look at me, falling asleep. I'm a terrible cook, excuse me." There was a bright flush of red against his cheeks before readying two bowls for them.

"Here, uh- you're welcome." He chuckled nervously.

Her reckless style of fighting proved to be anxiety-inducing with how much she's swinging her weapon. At least she's kind enough to warn him to duck if she's too close to him. However, he's still worried whenever that happens soon.

"Will do, but don't swing it across my head that much. That'll just lose my train of focus." He hurled a ball of electricity towards a group of goblins, the impact causing an explosion with every single one dead with their corpses convulsing.

"Some of them are retreating. If we keep this up, none will come back to harass us again!" He raised his voice firmly, dealing with the last nuisances who were attempting to charge them foolishly.

Bodies piled around them as silence engulfed for a few more seconds. All of a sudden, there came a hobgoblin with wooden armor and a steel sword. It seems to be the leader while regular goblins arose from the bushes behind the humans.

"I can cover you barbarian whilst you deal with him. Any magic your way will heal your wounds."

“Taking advantage of my wounds so you can get the upper hand. That’s cruel.” Shin teased her, his thumb brushing the bottom of her lip with that cocky smile on his expression. “Maybe when we get home, the best place for a little roughhousing~” He kicks the barely conscious man since he was spouting inaudible insults. The force was enough to send him to sleep. “That’s kinda embarrassing, a shorter guy beating a much taller man. But I’ll take the win.”

Two women suddenly approached Shin and stroked his arm muscles from behind. Their touches startled him to the point of being disgruntled with that annoyed expression on his face. “My, my. You look so strong. How about you come home to me so we can have some fun~?”

“No, he’s mine! Back off whore!” The other woman growled.

Shin gave Vanya a nod, signaling permission to kick their ass if she truly desired.

"The evening hours do offer a bit of a strain with the emergence of night goblins and chimeras. Though, I'm sure you're wondering why I'm living in seclusion where anything can harm me. None can get in as long the shield is up, just to remind you." He still has the ability to defend himself from intruders. His physical capabilities are lacking, but he makes up for it with his magic.

"The more you injure yourself, your body will not recover from the strain. I know I can heal you back to normal, but there's a limit how much you can endure."

Out of the blue, a friendly brown squirrel crawled up her arm and on top of her shoulder to eat a patch of seeds in its paws.

"Rosemary, I thought I reminded you to leave the injured alone whenever I'm offering assistance. They're not a tree trunk." The pet stared at him for a moment before throwing a seed against his forehead.

Shin sighed. "Sorry, she can be a little bratty sometimes."

It's been almost a week since he escaped from the crutches of his aunt. Living with Harmony has been relaxing. All those years of unnecessary stress have faded. The more he cuddled with her, he began to feel his heart come alive.

Shin wrapped an arm over her waist, pulling her close next to him on the bed. Their bodies were in sync now, their legs entangled with their faces close to one another. He brushed a hand against the side of her head, his thumb stroking her cheekbone with that loving smile on his face.

It didn't take long for him to close the distance and lay a firm kiss against her plush lips, his need for warmth skyrocketing as his body pressed more into hers.

He sighed of contentment with both arms embraced around her body, his head snuggling into her hair affectionately.

"Let's stay in bed when the rain comes." He muttered to her, noticing the drizzles against the window. "I don't want to get out of bed now."

If only this lasted forever. Shin will take the time to enjoy this serene moment with her.

“Hm, you’re saying it’s odd of me to not feel feisty?” Shin kisses her neck momentarily before pressing his forehead against hers. “Then again, haven’t really given you a lot of kisses lately, but how much the workload has been kicking my ass these past couple days.” 

He smooches both her collarbones before trailing aside to leave a peck against one of her shoulders.

He kept that menacing stare to withhold some semblance of confidence within himself. Her presence won't deter him to absolute fear.

All of a sudden, eyes widened almost immediately, arms wrapping around her neck to keep himself from falling.

This was utterly embarrassing, even more so with how close his face was to hers. He leaned away with cheeks lighting up to a dark red.

"YES, I AM SURE!" Shin crossed his arms against his chest. "YOU HAVE AMAZING STRENGTH, THAT'S FOR SURE! I didn't know your muscles were made out of pure iron. You can easily lift up a bear for all I know!" He sighed out of annoyance, despite complimenting her.

He grumbled under his breath from the numbing pain in his chest. "Honey would be very much appreciative." His tone was melancholic, defeated and unable to get some fresh air for once. The taste of honey would surely make him jubilant again.

"Wait, you're not thinking of finding a hives nest right?"

"Hey, you." Harmony smiles and sets her novel on the coffee table beside her. Shin must have woken up to the mingling aromas of Christmas dinner cooking nearby. While Shin was napping, Harmony was getting it ready with presents piled under the tree near the sofa. She gets up from the sofa and gives him a warm embrace. "Happy holidays, love. I have things for you." She turns away from him and picks up one present for him.

"This is one of them! I hope you like it!"

If there was one thing that was an absolute surprise, is being waken up by the smell of dinner with his lovely girlfriend presenting him a cozy-looking sweater.

He sighed in oontent before wrapping her in a tight hug.

"You're always making me get up with a smile on my face." He pecked her cheek. "Happy holidays, let's have some dinner together~"

"The kind where momma bear doesn't bully around little tiny runt bear husband who has grown up into a midget." He leans up to smooch her bottom lip before attempting to lift himself up with her on top of him still.

"Listen here, you'll fit well as a cuddle bear than anything else. I'm too midget sized to be cuddled. You can't fit your body into mine anyways." Looking up at her with a pout, he was eager to be free from her grip.

The affectionate smooch encouraged him to lean into her chest, a muffled whinny groan as she embraced her with his strength weak from his drunken condition.

"No, I mean it." Shin wept. "All this time, all through my life, I never believed I would find that special person. Until you came into my life." He glanced up to her with teary eyes.

It's common of him to be clingy when he's drunk. It's obvious as he smooches her face all throughout before kissing her shoulder bone affectionately.

"Woah, the room is spinning. Am I on a rollar coaster? I kinda hate it." He clutched his head to ease a headache impending on him.

“Hey, Shin. I have to tell you something.” Harmony begins, only to smile and lean in. She gives him a gentle kiss on the lips. “I love you! That is all.”

The afternoon spent washing dishes was productive, to say the least. Shin's rule is that if Harmony is working the hardest with stress burdening her well-being, he will do all the house chores while she relaxes.

"Yes?" He glances behind him with her lips meeting his. A surprised expression followed by a contented smile and a kiss. "Love you too, Harmony."

His arms wrap around her body, lifting her before setting her down on the counter. "I forgot to ask you earlier, what would you like for dinner later? I can handle the advanced recipes, I promise."

Another peck of her lips, nudging her nose against hers teasingly.

"Maybe right now, I'll have some strawberry cake." His forehead against hers with a sigh coursing through his expression, leaving kisses all over her face. "And some sprinkles~"
