Nokonoshima (能古島) , or ‘The Love-antique’, by Howie Abel
In Hakata bay is perched a fledgling island desperate for glimpses of foreign lands but she is sheltered like a diamond within her guardian’s hands.
Few men know, and fewer care about the treasure buried there for most it is not worth the fare nor could care less what I will share, but some will know of what I speak not of kings or khans or tsars or sheikhs or Brits or French or Turks or Greeks, but only of a love-antique.
Nokonoshima is its name but Shikanoshima is the bay’s great fame for there two farmers found one golden seal that Guangwu himself once claimed. Invasions often too passed by Nokonoshima’s doleful eyes from fabled Jingu’s three year wars to Kubla Khan and Mongol hordes Yet, though few and far between, not all waged war on the unseen: Some learnt much from foreign men and went back home to teach again that history would be but blood and sin if not for Xavier, Kukai, and Tenjin.
The sea seethed with rage, how it rained and poured while the wind whipped up a monstrous tempest! One man alone would be a pawn on nature’s chessboard but under our umbrella we were Emperor and Empress!
Do you remember the marigolds strewn across that promised-land, the sunflowers bowing down to nature’s wrath, and the golden sand of the beach we walked along hand in hand with pieces of umbrellas rent asunder by battering gales; of drenched animals, bands of goats trapped in pens while mocked by the song of fleeing birds relishing in the storm, watched in envy by bloated rabbits gallantly withstanding the grand onslaught of water. Yet this was what they knew, how they lived: the flora and the fauna were adapted to this environment, and we were the foreigners, though welcomed by all, and not least at the temple where statues capturing expressions from former ages upon their chiseled surfaces greeted us at the top of stones stairs: hints of mythology hidden from tourists like us, and too the history contained in old kilns which gave an industry, a lifestream to this island, to its youth, its culture, its people, and these kilns which once carried the fire of civilisation, were now a solemn antique… Well, what once wrought art now becomes it, and the history of all becomes part of our little story.
But it wasn’t there alone we walked: In Dazaifu we saw bustling shrines and quiet zen temples reclaimed by nature whose wise spirit outgrew all signs of old foolish legislature.
We munched on fruit and exotic sweet along mountain path and mountain street where we talked for hours, and never have I seen such beauty since, in the streams, the waterfalls, the wild flowers, and all those creatures of the wilderness, most of all you, for you know the words I spoke then are as true as they are now, and will be true long after the beat of my heart is quelled and surrounded with the memories of those it touched and felled collected piece by piece into love’s mythology.
But you spoke of other mythologies, heroes past but never present, of feats greater than can be produced by all our world’s technologies, of fallen empires, Rome and Greece, tales of men who dared enough to dissent, to oppose the Gods, and never to repent, and how we love and praise such fools as these, and how no great man ever existed who thought himself wrong enough to give apologies, And how no great man can live now, for we are lost and lonely and scrambling for meaning, in dying institutions, in manufactured expectations, in any semblance of pleasure, no matter how false or narrow, because we are weaned on lies and falsehoods where words have betrayed their etymologies. We walked aimlessly along the ruins of Fukuoka castle as you spoke and I pondered whether in past realms, like those of the pharaoh, his priests and scribes, his craftsmen, and all his common folk, the sands of time could change but what the sand concealed remained: Vox clamantis in deserto.
One day we caught a train with no regard for destination and proudly disembarked at a random railway station and explored our new surroundings with the curiosity of children, every nook and cranny, every field, and every building. Another day we went to Nagasaki’s peace procession we walked behind a marching band despite the sun’s oppression and watched from a hotel Nagasaki’s setting sun, on the church that we had entered, on the war that we had won. Returning then to Saga under cover of the night whose quiet music was a blessing to you who held me tight, where nought is made for one except the prison of your mind and when you search for love you never know what you will find. When you travel half the world to reach your destination your existence feels as fleeting as a train sat in a station, every moment must be savoured, every tear and every smile, all passengers leave the platform through the same one-way turnstile.
Birthdays pass, Christmas comes and goes, And a New Year, more discarded resolutions, perhaps it even snows, Time flies and only Valentines, winters faithful anodyne Lasts until Easter, where reviving nature distracts us from our woes Until Summer lust takes over when love scatters like dust In the autumn wind and sticks only to what soon rusts.
And perhaps a book or two we will exchange Some message filled with painful words and platitudes But they are just the husks of conscious change that obscure the seed from the kernel that remains and leaves love estranged in heartless habitudes weaved around a web of memories that can no longer be renewed.
To age belongs old reveries But youth needs new creation If you seek more than love-antiques name the train and station.

TOYOTA Classic The Classic was developed with Toyota's first mass-produced car, Toyoda AA, which debuted in 1936. The development and production were undertaken by Toyota Technocraft, which manufactures ambulances and road patrol cars in Toyota's special car division. It is now Toyota Customizing & Development. The company's skilled craftsmen were involved in the production. He says much of the manufacturing process was manual, partly because only 100 of the classic cars were produced. The price is 8,100,000 yen, which is reasonable for Toyota's high price in 1996. In 1936, Toyota's automobile department was manufactured under the name of Toyoda's automatic loom manufacturing plant. That's why it's Toyoda, not Toyota. Although 1,404 Toyoda AA models have been produced since 1937, none of them have been believed to exist. Even Toyota decided that none of the cars were left after searching all over Japan, so it even spent a lot of money making faithful copies. The Roman Automobile Museum (The Hague, Netherlands) displays Toyoda AA, the only existing car on the planet. The body is severely damaged by scratches and dents, and the paint is all peeled off.The door is bent and shows signs of rough repair. The interior is missing and the windows are broken or missing. The grill is no longer original, and the tires are misused from other cars. The interior is in a terrible condition, the interior is torn, the instrument panel is written in Russian, and the needle is lost. Not limited to cables, wires are hanging from everywhere.

The Swordsman of Light
Heroes's Odyssey: Zero compares the 1st SAAG's Ultroid Zero to the TPC's Terranoid, and it's eventual corruption into Zelganoid.
Saber: Yuri entrusted Tassel with Story of Hougouken Saikou, so do all of the Sword books exist? So the story, the speculation is that the first image has Luna's ancestor at the front, and the first 5 Swordsmen, speculated to be Master Logos and Tassel on one side, and on the other Zooous, Storious and Legeiel. Yuri once wielded Saikou and Kurayami together. After Sword of Logos was formed, Rekka was the first Seiken made by human hands. And here is a tragic moment, turns out tons of Megiddo have been born and had their lives snuffed out to create new Alter Ride Books, and neither side even noticed. Daishinji decides to join Touma. Tassel has the book on Nagare, Suzune, Hayate, possibly all of the swords we know, before finding Saikou's, which Yuri uses with SwordXMan to create the book X Swordman. Touma's almost able to separate the Megiddo from the host thanks to his feelings. Yuri debuts as Kamen Rider Saikou at last, I love how he just goes all Super Hero. But this one isn't over yet.
Kiramager: Okay I'm loving those 2 classmates this episode. Garza gets to become part of Yodon's body. And then, thanks to Crunchula's help, is able to destroy Yodon and become Lord Garza. So like, obviously the boy in the flashback had to look like that to obfusciate his identity, but does that mean Garza's black colouration is a sign of corruption? Why was he ever allowed near Takamichi or Mabusheena?
Dogengers: Yabai Kamen leaves, with Yuki running over to Tanaka as he passes out. He awakens back home, with Kitaqman and Yamashiron, who has now moved in as well. Yabai Kamen is starting to worry about everyone losing the Golden Seal, when Shaberryman informs him of the other Golden Seal mentioned history. The one their power has been gained from was found by farmers on Shikanoshima, so maybe the second is in the same area. In order to get a digger for them to use to try and find it, Uzagi goes to Yahata Construction. While Yamashiron explains that at the moment he can't unfuse, the Chief at Yahata and his men are fighting of Uzagi and his Karami when Nakama City's El Brave arrives. Uzagi unleashes the power of his Stuntman, mocks El Brave's height, and knocks him all the way to Tanaka's house just as they're talking about him. Grousing further about his lack of height, El Brave goes off for a Revenge Match, followed by Tanaka, they find all the workers were captured by Uzagi in the meantime. The Chief has Rookie fight so he can give El Brave a pep talk, leading him to accept his shortness as he assist Rookie in reaching Uzagi, allowing them to defeat him and save the workers. Unnoticed, the lower of the Golden Seal leaves Uzagi and enters El Brave's wrestling belt, hanging in the warehouse. While Tanaka is glad for what he's learnt, he's bemused that El Brave has also now moved into his house.
Rider Time: I already love these paired miniseries, I don't care how bad everyone thinks the new forms are. I have criticisms, sure, but I'll address those in a dedicated post when it's over.
Zi-O Vs Decade: Inves are attacking a couple of groups. The "Casual" Sougo appears, becomes Zi-O, as does the "Cool" Sougo. Both defeat the Inves, and introduce themselves to the rescued parties. At school, Heuru and Ora are waiting for the regular Sougo and Geiz, and when they spot them hand over love letters. Geiz just tears up Ora's, and while Sougo intends to read Heure's at least, Geiz drags him away. A trio of students make a break for it from the school, but are cornered by Inves immediately, Geiz stops Sougo from going out, and the kids are killed. Swartz marks the desks of all the dead students, and we discover the school is the only building wherever they are. Swartz, the only member of staff there, is under a lot of stress. Sougo and Geiz talk over their meager dinner, before Swartz is alerted to some male students taking a female hostage, he knocks out two and the third leaps out the window, easy prey for the Inves. Out in the forest, Tsukuyomi is cornered by Inves, and Henshins to fight them. At another school in the same predicament, "Casual" Sougo is preparing to ride out of school when Kudo Misa, the one new character shared between the two series appears, and insists on coming with him, they ride out together, Sougo having to fight some Inves off. Swartz holds a lecture for some students on love, though "Ora-sensei" intervenes and gives a more "effective" lecture. Meanwhile Sougo? has been running a small festival, which a student comes to enjoy, when "Casual" Sougo and Misa pull up, Misa "assists" his henshin into Zi-O, when Sougo transforms into Zi-O to protect the new arrivals, and Geiz arrives too. The two Zi-O's don't notice eachother during the fight, but both Geiz and Misa do and are confused, but the two Sougo's are confused afterwards. Casual Sougo has the OOO Ridewatch. To add to the confusion the "Cool" Sougo also arrives. Meanwhile, in a 4x4, Kadoya Tsukasa is making his way.
Decade Vs Zi-O: A "Sporty" Tokiwa Sougo wakes up, shortly followed by Onodera Yusuke, then an Old Man, Housewife, Yakuza, as well as Heure, Ora Swartz and Kudo Misa. (Heure is in casual clothes, Ora very fine clothes, Swartz a much smarter suit and has a beard, and Misa in Seifuku). Ora tries to leave, leading them all to discover the house they're in is the only thing on a small island. The masked jester figure appears on screen, welcoming them to the "King Game" and challenging them apparently to have a chair each in 10 minutes, splitting in various groups to do so, while the Yakuza refuses to play, Misa gives the Old Man an extra chair she found. The Jester summons Another Ryuki, who targets and kills the Yakuza. The group now suitably terrified, the Old Man starts offering wads of cash for protection. That night everyone's trying to make sense of everything, some more desperate than others, when the Jester appears again, this time giving 10 minutes to find a Kitchen pot, Misa again having to give one to the Old Man. Thanks to Ora stealing the one the Housewife found, the Housewife is killed by Another Ryuki. Then Misa screams, having found the Old Man dead, and the blood makes it clear it's not Another Ryuki's handiwork. As they start pondering the mystery, Kadoya Tsukasa arrives.
