Book of the Dead

An ancient book bearing the mark of both Anubis and Osiris. It is bound in thick leather, and has no title except for the marks on its front. It is very thick, and while its contents are written entirely in hieroglyphs, the user could somehow understand it just fine.

Journey of the Dead - The object helps guide the Dead into the afterlife, and putting them to rest. While it is placed upon a creature’s grave or within its tomb, that creature would be protected from any effect that would tamper with its remains and its soul would be efficiently brought to the afterlife, preventing their ghost from manifesting. Should it be removed, the opposite happens, the protection collapses and the soul is forcibly dragged back from the Beyond back to its grave. This has no effect on beings whose souls are destroyed, or who never had a soul to begin with.

Spells of the Dead -The book is filled with spells and rites that deal with the Dead and the afterlife. Most of the spells have to do with putting the Dead to rest, protecting their souls from harm, guiding them to the afterlife, ensuring they reach the land of the dead, and other such things. There are also a number of more malevolent spells, such as to curse grave robbers, kill a Dead Soul permanently, raising a corpse and binding them to a purpose, etc., though these are few and far in between. Casting any of these spells would require the user use their own Shenergy, and to learn them before casting them.

Scales of Ma’at

A large, human sized scale, the likes of which were used in ancient times. One side is left empty, while the other bears a single glowing ostrich feather floating atop it. When Weigh the Heart is used, a symbolic replica of the target’s soul, usually a heart colored by their sins and vices, appear in the empty side.

Weigh the Heart - The scales weigh the target’s heart against the feather. Should the heart be pure the scales shall tip towards the feather and the object shall have no further effect. However, if the heart is wicked the scales shall tip towards it, and the user can use their own Shenergy to activate Devourer of the Damned.

Devourer of the Damned - The target’s heart is wicked and full of vice, thus the devourer shall consume it upon their death. This ability costs a lot of Shenergy to use, but is more than worth it. The target is drained of most of their health and Shenergy, and any buff effects upon them are deactivated. Furthermore, should the target die within a specified amount of time, their souls would be Devoured by Ammit, inflicting Soul Death.

Canopic Jars

There are hundreds of these brown clay jars are present in the hoard, though all of them are present in sets of four. Each set has a pair of lungs, a stomach, a liver, and an intestine stored between them in different jars. Anubis was given these as tribute from the various Dead that met him. Though they have no magical effect on their own, perhaps the user can find something worthwhile through Alchemizing with them.

Anubis: Strife!

Weighing of the Heart

Anubis, as the Guardian of the Scales, weighs the hearts of souls against Ma’at, the Feather that represents Truth, and ensures that the weighing is done correctly. Should their heart be lighter than Ma’at, then their souls shall be protected and be guided to Osiris. However, those whose hearts are heavier than Ma’at are left to meet their final deaths at the jaws of Ammit, the Devourer. This ability allows Anubis to weigh the hearts of others with a glance, though it works best against the Dead and those without a physical form it can also be used on beings other than those, though it is harder to do. Using it on the Dead and those without a body means this ability can’t be resisted, using it on the Living grants a 30% chance of failure.

Patron of Dead Souls

Anubis is the one who shall lead the Dead to the afterlife, questioning them before weighing their hearts and either sending them to Ammit or to Osiris. This ability allows Anubis to communicate with the deceased. This ability works so long as the soul is intact, even if it lies several Universes away. The Dead must answer Anubis’ questions truthfully and to the best of their abilities. While Anubis can use this ability at his leisure, it requires quite a bit of concentration and can be unreliable while he is stressed. Such as during combat. He often uses this ability while slumbering, however, and often questions the Underlings his Player’s have slain on various subjects, the Player themselves most prominently.

He Who Is Upon His Mountain

Anubis watches over all tombs and graves and is quick to protect them should the need arise. This ability allows Anubis to know whenever a Resting Place, defined as anywhere a dead creature has been put to rest through a funerary rite, is in danger of being desecrated or disturbed in any way. Once the danger has been detected, Anubis can spend Shenergy to quickly transport himself to that location in order to defend it.

Duality of Natures

Anubis is neither a Man not a Jackal, yet he is both, such is the dual natures of the Egyptian Gods. This ability grants Anubis the ability to shapeshift between his Denizen form, the form of a black-furred Jackal, and whatever species the Player is. This, change can be either complete, allowing him to become a jackal or whatever the Player is, or it can be partial, granting the features of one of his other forms upon his current one. This allows Anubis to create natural weapons, shapeshift into Denizen or Player sized Jackals, a human with a Jackal head, a Jackal with a human head, etc.

Overseer of Mysteries

Only Anubis may see the insides of the dead and to open the innards of those who would be mummified. Thus it is that he would anoint Overseers to be his hands in that process of embalming. This ability allows Anubis to possess and remotely control any being that wears a mask that bears his likeness. This is quite easy to resist, requiring a consenting or broken willed target in order to work properly. While he is in control, the may use the Overseer to extend the reach of his abilities, for while the powers that can only affect himself are limited to his true form, those abilities that use a range or a detection limit can use them as a sort of radio tower. Boosting their signal, so to speak.

I'm making a pseudo game system, or at least a skeleton of one, to make my posts about Classpects a bit more consistent. One of the ones I'm making is about Aspect Fuel, each would have a different name but as a whole they will either be called Shenanergy (as per your advice) or Chichanergy. Which do you think is better?
