@bookity101 , @flamelordytheking , @beatrice-otter , @galahadwilder , anyone else interested in time-traveling Leia: I have now recalled there exists a third (Leia lands on Tatooine before the Phantom Menace and poses as a bounty hunter and gets in Padme's good graces that way, and I think Shmi knows the truth), but do I remember title or author? of course not!
here's the two I do know where to find:

Anakin is very busy and very tired, but Leia needs help and this is very important. Almost as important as the trouble Padmé is about to cause.

ik DLB isn’t about romance, but I’m reading through it rn and something about Leia x Shea has me loving their dynamic. She’s not as important a character as many others, so their interactions don’t overstay their welcome and change the genre of the story to romance, but they still have me curious for their short times together and the very blatant showings of Shea’s interest. I think it’s also because the thought of Anakin’s daughter also falling in love with a senator tickles me in some way.
I'm glad that you're enjoying it. I hope, especially since it isn't the focus of this fic, that people are having fun with their own favorite pairings for Leia. It makes me excited when people see the potential for a ship in Leia's relationships because it makes me feel like I've constructed interesting characters with vibrant dynamics for Leia to interact with. If you feel like there's enough there that there could be a romance, I've done my job. Because there's something real between those characters and it's resonating.

I just had a terrible idea while re-reading the first part and of course I had to share. I've said it before, I'm not a shipper but my brain is trash and I live on the internet so here's my terrible ida of the day: DLB in-universe shipper(s) POV segment(s).
Not exactly what I think you're looking for, but uh...
~...~
It’s an open secret that Senator Sadashassa is pursuing Senator Amidala’s newest aide.
Open in that everyone who has talked to either of their staff is aware of the frequent collaborations, everyone who has passed them in the hall has seen Leia Skywalker make the senator laugh, everyone who has spent more than a few moments around them has seen Senator Sadashassa reach out to touch Leia’s shoulder or arm and linger just half a breath long enough to almost not be just friendly.
To say nothing of what some can smell or sense or see with more enhanced senses.
It’s secret in that, like many things in the Senate, it won’t go beyond these walls until there’s more political capital to be gained by bargaining with it.
It almost reaches that tipping point every other week or so, when Senator Darsana does something—sends an aide that visits with Skywalker a little long, stops her in the hall and quickly earns an indulgent smile—but never quite goes past that point where it’s just rich, filthy gossip and speculation among the various other senatorial staffs. It only comes to the attention of actual senators if they are particular friends—or enemies—of one of the three parties involved.
Senator Sadashassa’s aides are all rolling eyes and long suffering sighs when they are asked about the progress. Senator Amidala’s handmaidens are more tricky. Eiraté will smile, Cordé will laugh once and shake her head, and Dormé with simply smile pleasantly as if she has no knowledge on the topic.
Sheltay is losing her mind.
It’s her first and most important responsibility to stay on top of staff gossip in the Senate, what with the prince being busy with actual politics. Sheltay is the one who gets to wade through the mire of torrid secrets and unpleasant half truths. Well, her and her assistants. But Sheltay has to know what’s happening, because sometimes it’s enough to tip the scales for their actual work.
Skywalker is toying with two completely different senators, keeping both lightly engaged and denying neither.
And she’s winning.
Senator Amidala’s office has gotten direct promises from both senators related to Naboo’s recent refugee focus. Concessions! From Senator Darsana!
It’s not a method Sheltay agrees with, less for any cultural or moral reasons, and more because the risks of backlash are so high.
But it’s working. And Sheltay doesn’t really know what to do with that.
Leia Skywalker is an enigma and a mystery. She’s pretty enough, but that’s not a stand out quality in the Senate. She’s smart—dangerously clever, Sheltay thinks—but that’s not it either. There are hundreds, thousands of intelligent and capable staff members from across the galaxy in these buildings every day.
There’s something else about her. Something that’s easy to miss when she’s pretending to be quiet and unassuming, a shadow in the main halls and a passing thought in full meeting rooms.
And then Sheltay is notified that Leia Skywalker is attending the negotiation dinner with Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi—rising negotiator and Jedi master to Anakin Skywalker—and all of Sheltay’s carefully constructed assumptions and plans are promptly shot.
She’s not paid enough for this.

okay everyone is talking about siths in your asks rn so this feels a bit out of place? but i can’t stop thinking about shea. poor woman. she managed to fall for one of the most unhinged people in the galaxy. you know, at least obi-wan is used to dealing with some amount of skywalker crazyness, but shea is so out of the loop in these things. imagine hearing second hand your crush is doing stuff like flipping around and beheading a droid or trying to fight one of the most dangerous men in existance barehanded only to end in a week long coma. i would be pulling out my hair because of stress and just,, the sheer insanity of it. pray for shea.
There was a point, many eons ago, when this fic was first getting written, where Shea was kind of a throw away character that was going to show up when I needed an outsider to tell Leia or Padmé that things were going on, but she wasn't going to like Leia and she wasn't going to be important.
Clearly we have moved past this point.
So yeah, I feel bad for her. Because she had no idea what she was getting into, insisting on being attracted to Leia. And yet, because she also insisted on inserting herself further into this plot and playing a larger role in it, I can't help but feel...this is just desserts?
Shea is just amazing because there is a part of her that is so practical and efficient and doesn't care about "good" so much as doing her job, and doing it well. And sure doing it well means making things good for her contingents, but like, not because she's got this amazing moral drive to better lives.
And she's around Leia for five disastrous minutes and is all, "She's hot, but what the hell?" And then meets her again a few months later, perfectly poised, waltzing through the Senate like she owns the place, turning everything on its head, and Shea's all, "Oh. Hot damn."
But Leia does care about making people's lives better, and is 1000% down to throw herself on the altar of self-sacrifice to make it happen, even without being a time-traveling Force sensitive Skywalker.
Shea is not prepared for the level of nonsense Leia considers basic standards of living.

Note
How aware is Leia about the uh, more personal interest in her that the various people around her hold?
Depends on the person. She's aware of Shea's interest, but as long as Shea leaves it as subtext, Leia is going to deal with it by pretending it isn't happening. She knows what people have said about her and Obi-Wan, she knows he likes her, but he also hasn't said anything about wanting more so she figures he'd rather keep things professional/friendly.
There are others that she hasn't really noticed. Some of them are more subtle than others.

I'm trying to imagine Shea and Darsana wondering if they are in a... love square? with Leia and Bail. And then probably immediately rejecting the idea.
Shea would never consider it because she doesn't consider Darsana romantically interested in Leia and Shea also hasn't really been exposed to Leia's weirdness around Bail.
Darsana knows Shea is interested in Leia, but is certain Bail and Leia are not interested in either Shea or each other. It's probably fair to say Darsana loves Leia at this point, but he's not romantically into her. He'd offer her a political marriage though, just to get her expertise on his side. Or if he thought it would help or protect her. And maybe to piss off Shea.

Also, re: the Leia/Darsana pairing, Darsana being able to one up Shea in a such a petty way would be hilarious (as long as it wasn’t too sad instead)
Honestly, it would probably lead to a longstanding petty war with Shea still trying to seduce Leia, Darsana just laughing in the background, and Leia rolling her eyes and trying to get her work done.

Leverage
Enough pressure applied in the correct places, at the right times and in the right directions, with the proper tools and systems in place to maximize the effort, can in fact overcome a seemingly immovable object.
Or, Leia time traveled and the Chancellor doesn’t know that, but he’s finding it very inconvenient.

Link
Pressing
Things build up and up and up and at some point, something is going to have to give. Not even Skywalker’s can out-stubborn themselves forever. (But they’ll give it an honest try.)
