"You're not in love with me, you're in love with the version of me you get to fuck," Wilhelm scoffs with an angry shift of his jaw that Simon's seen time and time again. It's the same glare that they've always greeted each other with, one that they've never strayed from. Simon's probably looking at Wille the exact same way. All that anger and want flowing to the surface, but it's not just that for Simon. It's not just hot and angry sex that leaves them both breathless by the end of the night.

Sure, Wilhelm drives Simon absolutely mad, but it's also what he loves about the man. Wilhelm challenges him in more ways than he knew possible. It's infuriating but wonderful at the same time. But what's most frustrating, what makes Simon roll his lips together with an angry frown, is how easy it is for Wille to dismiss him. For him to shove Simon off like saying the words didn't draw terror from deep within him. Like Simon hasn't spent weeks, months, trying to figure out what the hell it is about Wille that makes him fall more furiously in love each time they're together. "It's not love, it's lust," Wilhelm furthers his point.

Simon shakes his head, because no, Wille doesn't get to do this. He doesn't get to push Simon away just because things are a little more complicated than what they signed up for.

the reason poolverine is so appealing is also because in all of his two-decade run in the xmcu they have given logan some of the most boring and rushed relationships with women (because it was the 2000s and the mold that they followed for rugged manly protagonists meant an astounding lack of chemistry between them and their love interests in favor of giving them the "dead wife who has a montage at the beginning of the movie" treatment etc etc) and then they put him on a 2 hour long film with a guy even more insane and fucked up than him and they matched each other beat for beat. say what you want about the mcu but they achieved a level of chemistry between logan and wade that fox couldn't reach in 20 years with like four different love interests. which is also a petition for them to either go the gay route or finally let logan find a woman he has good chemistry with and who can pass the bechdel test
