i just thought of an idea of how Shadow Weaver could've treated Bow similarly to how she treated Catra, as she likely wouldn't have seen him as strong // useful // as someone who could negatively affect Adora or Glimmer, in terms of reaching their full potential.

and, especially since this would ( presumably ) happen in s4, would Bow even say anything about it? would it even matter?

could've been a commentary on how dangerous only being the 'happy friend', and not a person, can be for a lot of people.

( oh, no, i'm not still hung up on Bow's arc being introduced and unfinished in s4 and him being a blank canvas almost every other time, why do you ask? )

( also, Catra could've done smth similar, isolating Bow physically and mentally to take him down and have no one notice until later. not a corruption arc, but pretty damn close. i'm feral, don't look at me- )

she didn’t write it but she did change some lines, mainly to make it less sexual, but in the case of The Two Lines, she changed it from “i know you’re saying that i’ll be here anyway” to “i know you’re saying that you’d be here anyway”, and she changed the following lines from the “and in the middle of the night when i’m in this dream” passage to the “but you’re untouchable burning brighter than the sun” passage, which i think changes the song from a simple pining for someone who’s stringing you along dynamic, into a “we’re both pining over each other but i’m afraid of how much i want you”

hoax was literally the blueprint! and i agree that its vagueness makes it really intriguing and applicable to pretty much any painful situation. also, props to taylor for being excellent at making both hyper-specific and extremely metaphorical songwriting incredibly relatable.
