Another day, another overbearing PruksaManee family headcanon
Ever since she graduated, when Symmetra goes to random places outside of Vishkar, she often finds that Niranâs family has made arrangements for her to be taken care of already. Even if she thinks itâs a bit of a hassle to this day
Like she could go to a hotel for a work assignment. There is a very high chance they ensured she will have an exclusive suite under âMs. Vaswani-PruksaManee.â Or she goes to a department store, and suddenly she has a personal shopper helping her pick out her clothes with material she likes. She arrives at a restaurant, and they already make her the foods she likes that might not even on their menu.
Sheâs so used to them being pushy and throwing their money around as a way of showing their love, but sheâs still thinking âthese damn rich peopleâŠâ (affectionate) anytime they go overboard over silly things.
Just living a âmy in-laws are obsessed with meâ lifestyle no matter. They laugh it off whenever she insists there must be something better they could be using their wealth on because what else is better than their favorite daughter/sister-in-law (they suddenly canât hear when she reminds them she never married Niran either.)
Sometimes, thereâs rumors in the media that the eldest PruksaManeeâs son had a fiancĂ© before he went âastray,â but thereâs never any pictures of her for some reason. Any possible lead is always mysteriously taken down and replaced with a different story.

And the Room Falls Silent
For kids, turning four was the year that would make or break them. In a hero-based society, quirks dictated worth.
Izukuâs life was considered over the moment he was confirmed to be quirkless. After losing everyone who cared for him and being bullied by those he was close with for everything he said or did, Izuku shut down.
Izuku developed symptoms of a severe social phobia at the ripe age of six. Inko was shattered, watching as her brilliant and bright child faded away. Not only did she start getting reports from the school that Izuku wasnât speaking at all, he no longer talked with her.
Midoriya pointed and shook his head to speak. With the silence, Izuku started to cry a lot more. Despite all of that, Izuku did technically speak every day. It was only one phrase. Inko could barely hear it with Izuku's face buried in her shoulder.
âI love you, Mom.â
Izuku never left the house and strayed far away from the playground after he returned home with bruises one eventful day. Inko didnât want him to leave anyways. Inko felt better knowing he was safe at home. Even after Izuku went completely mute at six, he still had aspirations to become a hero. He continued his hobby of writing in his notebooks and buying All Might merchandise.
Izuku's shut-in habits carried on for the rest of elementary all the way through middle school. Izuku had no friends and he didnât bother trying to pursue having a social life. Having no distractions allowed him to focus on school. He had the highest score in his class for a reason. He often tied with Katsuki for first place in terms of intelligence. Katsuki didnât like that.
Even if Izuku admired Katsuki from afar, he never let his biggest bully notice. Izuku avoided Katsuki to the best of his ability. Even if Izuku made effort to stay away, Katsuki chased. He'd never admit it, but he stalked Izuku.
Katsuki hadn't planned on spying on Izuku in the beginning. He assumed Izuku was ignoring him to act higher than him. Then it turned into spying. It was a shock to Katsuki after following Izuku, to find seeing that he refused to speak to anyone. If necessary, heâd use sign language to convey a message or write it down.
Once it became clear to Katsuki that Izuku was mute and not ignoring him, the situation shifted a bit. Suddenly he waited for the moment when he'd hear Midoriya's voice again. He wanted to know if it deepened or if it was still high-pitched and girly. Soon it sank in that he'd most likely never hear Midoriya's voice again.
In most of their classes, when you were called on, you answered the question on the board. You didnât have to really say it out loud unless it was necessary for the subject matter. Izuku was able to get through school with close to no problems. He endured the bullying and pushed forward.
Inko had done her best to help. She tried everything in the book: speech therapy and child psychologists, and she sought out a pediatrician. Not much could be done. She tried all the tricks they offered her: shaping, self-modeling, and the list goes on.
It became clear the trigger of it was bullying and the traumatizing experience he endured at the ripe age of four. His dreams were shattered and everyone turned their back on him at a time when he needed support the most.
Izuku did see a therapist to open up about his bullying, but still only ever used sign language. When Izuku was being confronted by his bullies (classmates and teachers) he never once spoke. He had no desire to be a part of the world that surrounded him. He enjoyed submerging himself in the quiet.
Despite the odds, Izuku managed to save Katsuki from the sludge villain and impress Toshinori. Izuku had spoken to Toshinori, feeling safe and excited enough to use his words. Just like that, Izuku was on his way to obtaining the most power quirk to currently exist.
Izuku built a really strong bond with Toshinori, discussing his life and how he was selectively mute. Toshinori was grateful Izuku opened up about his life. While Izuku dedicated ten months to training from U.A. Toshinori dedicated ten months to learning sign language. While he didnât have to use it to speak to Izuku, he wanted to make it easy for Izuku to talk to him.
Izuku probably had no one in his life that he could easily talk to by using sign. Izuku most likely had to write everything out for people to understand. It wasnât ideal when he was Izukuâs mentor.
Izuku makes it into U.A. High and kept to himself. On the first day Uraraka thanked Midoriya for saving her. Iida greeted Izuku, beyond impressed with Izukuâs bravery. Izuku made it known he was mute, but he could hear. While it didnât make them hate him, it kinda created a barrier in terms of communication. Everyone was beyond nice, but Izuku didnât really click with anyone.
Being the current wielder of One for All, Izuku took control of how to handle his quirk development. As a result, Izuku was more open with Aizawa. He explained that he didnât have a lot of experience with his quirk. His body had to become strong enough to withstand the tole his quirk would have on him. Aizawa recognized that Izuku had spent his time preparing for his quirk since he couldnât train something he legitimately couldnât use.
Aizawa was the second person to earn Izukuâs trust. Izuku still didnât say more than a few words and he didn't speak to Aizawa if others were present. No other teachers or students had heard Midoriyaâs voice.
Kirishima and Todoroki were the first two to hear Midoriyaâs voice out of the class. Katsuki was also there, but it was the first time heâd heard Izuku speak since he was six.
It was during the USJ attack. Izuku leaped into action to save Toshinori.
âYou stupid villain!â
If it hadnât been in the heat of the moment, the three wouldâve been more surprised by him speaking rather than the fact Izuku was about to die. Katsuki was undeniably unnerved. He was so used to the idea of Izukuâs voice still being exactly how it was nine years ago. It really got to him when Izukuâs voice was significantly deeper and he sounded so angry you could hear the words ripping through his vocal cords.
Then the sports festival came around, it went smoothly at the start. Izuku won the first event, had a great group during the second event, and was now in the final event. Izuku was against Shinso first. Ojiro was very aware Izuku was mute, but he was now aware Izuku could speak if he chose to. After filling in Izuku about Shinsoâs ability to brainwash a person once they speak, Izuku thanked Ojiro. It meant a lot to him for Ojiro to seek Midoriya out to help him.
When the round started, Shinso went on a tangent. Izuku listened but ignored the anger that brewed in his gut. Shinso may have been saying those things simply to provoke Izuku, but it was extremely disrespectful for his life story to be assumed by someone he never met before.
Izuku had to fight quirkless considering he could really hurt Shinso if he used his quirk. He couldn't control his output so there was a slim chance he could kill Shinso. So they duked it out. It didnât take too long for Izuku to knock Shinso out of bounds.
When going against Todoroki, Izuku knew what he was dealing with. Todoroki had told Izuku about his reasons for not using his second quirk: fire.
Midoriya understood what Todoroki was feeling. The effects of how he was treated by being quirkless resulted in a long list of problems. Izuku couldnât begin to imagine the effects abuse had on him, not to mention the dysfunctional family not providing any help.
Izuku saw past all of that and knew Todoroki needed help. While he wasnât going to throw away the competition, he wasnât going to let Todoroki struggle either.
Izuku found himself yelling at Todoroki. Izuku wanted to test the waters, but ultimately just had to push Todorokiâs buttons. Despite the pain both Todoroki and Izuku were enduring from their battle. This match was a lot more than just winning the sports festival.
Then came workplace internships to gain experience. Hosu was under attack and the Stain incident occurred. Izuku managed to become a âtrue heroâ alongside All Might. It was impressive considering Izuku is the second person Stain has claimed to be a true hero. The situation brought Izuku, Todoroki, and Iida closer together.
When final exams rolled around, working with Katsuki to go against Toshinori was a strange situation. Katsuki was still beyond temperamental. Everyone knew the two didnât along and Katsuki was still hostile towards Izuku. The fight was brutal and the two teens had their air knocked out of their lungs more times than they could count.
Izuku still had yet to speak directly to Katsuki. Katsuki overheard Izuku talking, but Izuku still hadnât spoken to Katsuki. Imagine his surprise when he is punched in his puke-covered face by Izuku to hear his yelling.
âDonât you dare say youâd rather lose!â
The final exams ended and summer arrived. Summer would've gone great yet their "summer vacation: went horribly wrong. The league of villains decided to ambush the teens.
Izuku hadn't spoken the entire trip until he was alone with Kota. He hated seeing Kota give up on the world just like he did. After all the child was only five. In hopes to change Kotaâs fate, he spoke up.
âIf you reject it that harshly, the only person getting hurt is yourself,â explained Izuku, patient with the kid who had an explosive personality like Katsuki.
While Kota didnât react well to Izukuâs advice, he was enraptured by Izukuâs voice. When he kicked Midoriya in the balls, Mandalay shunned him but also revealed Midoriya was mute.
Muscular appears and he is out for blood. Muscular tried to kill Kota and Izuku was not going to let it happen. In a fit of panic and rage, Izuku screamed out. Seeing Kota use his quirk in desperation ignited a fire in him.
âAs if⊠Iâd let you kill him!â
Not even moments later, Katsuki was kidnapped and in the midst of despair, Izuku couldnât stop the scream that echoed through the forest. That also didnât stop his scream that conjoined with the crowds in the final battle between All Might and All for One. It seemed as if the world was coming back together just to fall apart again.
During the provisional hero license exam, Izuku once again had to scream. It was targeted at Todoroki and Yoarashi for almost getting Shindo killed.
âDammit! What are you two doing!â
Izukuâs blunt choice of words helped the two get their asses back into order and focus on the mission at hand. Soon enough the provisional hero license exam ended and the results were in.
While Todoroki and Katsuki were away for their required remedial course, Izuku would face his biggest battle yet. Alongside the big three, a handful of his classmates, and some pro heroes, Izuku was to rescue a wonderful girl name Eri and help defeat the villain Overhaul.
Izuku was a lot more vocal in this fight for Eriâs sake. Despite his mind holding him back at the thought of others hearing, he shut it down and kept his focus on Eri. Nothing matter except saving Eri. Calling out to Eri was the most freeing and horribly exhilarating thing.
After recovery and returning back to school, it was time to prepare for the school festival. For a bit, things were perfect. Izuku could fall back into the shadows and relax. He didnât have to speak and could enjoy time with Mirio and Eri.
Eri was amazed that Izuku was selectively mute. That meant she was super special for Izuku to have spoken to her. Izuku was fond of her reaction, flashing her a bright smile.
One weekend class 1-A wanted to go to the mall. Aizawa decided it was also the perfect time to show Eri the outside world. Eri stuck with Izuku, missing him from not seeing him much after the school festival.
Todoroki and Katsuki for some odd reason were the two that wandered around Izuku. You could blame their curiosity on Eri. She was stuck on his hip yet they had no idea how she knew Izuku. The mission Izuku was a part of was confidential.
Things never went smoothly with class 1-A. Aizawa had taken Eri for a bit while Izuku went to the bathroom. Despite his keen eye, Aizawa lost Eri. Izuku knew something fishy was happening. The last time he was in the mall, he was attacked by Shigaraki.
Half of the class stayed inside the mall while the other half was to observe the outside in case she wandered off far. Izuku, Todoroki, and Katsuki are stationed outside. Izuku was on the top floor of the mall, running around on the catwalk.
Izuku has no clue where to look or what to do. The panic settled in and people were everywhere. While everything in his head is screaming at him to return to the quiet and retreat, Izuku talked a deep breath and calls out into the world.
âEri-chan!â
Izuku was turning around in circles, his mind reeling at the fact she could be anywhere. Todoroki and Katsuki heard Izuku call out and started head over. While they were trying to get to Izuku, Izuku spotted something out of the ordinary.
A car was approaching. Whoever was at the wheel drove sporadically. Taking a look at the diver, he immediately recognized the man as a villain. Seeing no one was in the car, Izuku went to work.
Stepping onto the railing, Izuku jumped off and down a level. Izuku ran forward, launching himself down the building. Once reaching the ground, Izuku landed right before the speeding car. Katsuki was blasting his way over, screaming for Izuku to get out of the way. From his view, the driver was now trying to swerve out of the way, but they werenât going to make it.
Todoroki was sending out ice, trying to build an ice barrier between Izuku and the car. Despite their worries, Izuku had it under control. Izuku turned away from the car, drew back his leg, and t-boned the car with a single kick.
Katsuki and Todoroki stilled, seeing Izuku demolish the car with ease. When the two caught up to Izuku, they soon realized this was going to be the getaway driver. Moments later Aizawa alerts everyone Eri was found and the villain was arrested. Todoroki informs Aizawa about what happened and another police officer was sent their way.
Izuku and Eri were reunited. Eri jumped into Izukuâs arms and Izuku rested her on his hip. When the police came for a statement, Izuku grabbed a pen and wrote it down. He was not in the mood to talk.
Todoroki had no problem with Izukuâs silence and sighed to himself. âI thought you were going to die back there.â
âYeah! What the hell was that nerd! Trying to get yourself killed?â shouted Katsuki.
Izuku smirked at the two before shrugging and walking away with Eri. While Katsuki was left standing there with a pissed frown, Todoroki mindlessly followed after his friend with a smile.
Silence was a bitch.
The end!

watching SpongeBob while v stoned and thus far observations:
Mr. Krabs:
-used to have an ornate gorgeous mustache
-has been seen in leather daddy gear
-per show canon is an older gent (approx 80ish now, so would have been nearly 40 in 1980)
-raises a child that (this is following older SpongeBob canon, idk much abt the current canon updates) looks nothing like him, but has no pictures of mum around
-has an odd relationship with the older man/plankton that runs the business across from his. Tenuous, but they also play cards together at least weekly and clearly know each other very well
Conclusions:
Mr. Eugene Krabs is a queer crab that lived through the events of the 70s/80s/and on. He still goes out now and again as a leather daddy, especially now that his adopted daughter Pearl is getting older. Her other adoptive father, Plankton, left shortly after her informal, not entirely legal adoption (when asked why, both of them simply sigh and start crying, so no one asks anymore) so she doesn't really remember him.
Bikini Bottom is slowly becoming more accepting, but part of their break up was indeed social tension, and this led to the especially grumpy Plankton we see now.
Karen is the lesbian who has stayed friends with both of them, though she questions that choice now and again.
She watched them get together, 'adopt' Pearl (aka Mr. Krabs' mum knew Pearl's mum and grandmum, and quietly arranged for Pearl to have a family to go to that could look after her and handle the social faux paux of it all. A young unmarried mother in Bikini Bottom at the time? Not looked upon well. But Krabs and Plankton already know how to deal with the glares in public, and they promise to raise her with love and care and that she'll want for nothing), and then she watched them break apart.
There's not much of their community left in Bikini Bottom, so she offers for Plankton to move in with her (Krabs owns the anchor house he and Pearl stay in), and when he struggles to find a job she helps him set up his restaurant in the bigger part of their home after renovating (it needed it anyway, though Plankton rarely sleeps in the room she had built for him. No, he's usually at his desk, head on it, passed out and drooling.)
She makes good money doing multiple remote assistant jobs (I mean, she's literally made for them. Literally.) so she can afford for him to struggle.
It won't be what makes him happy again anyway. She knows that, but the two people who need to know it?
Won't even start to acknowledge it.
Anyway what year of Mr. Leather do y'all think Mr. Krabs might have won?
#text post#this is... extremely Something and yes im pushing some sad feelings abt my own v small queer community out here into this#but also re: at least krabs being a queer leather daddy with an adopted daughter and an on again off again with plankton?#i mean. the signs are there akdnfjgngj#jk jk im just having fun bc i know current SpongeBob has some crazy ass canon or it sounds like??#which would make none of this even remotely true or possible#long post

HRL MA- Blog #2- Savannah Waiden
So far, this semester, in my internship with Housing and Residence Life, I have created several reels, still Instagram post, and finished editing an interview video that I filmed last semester. Aside from my daily task of checking the marketing email, updating the digital signage, and accepting any closet check-outs, my first task was to finish editing an RA interview, "RA Today". I filmed this at the end of last semester. I had a rough cut finished before break, which I showed my boss, Dr. Brittany Philbert. She gave critiques which I fixed and sent her the final product. This video was shown at a meeting for higher ups and they all loved it! The next task I have been working on is creating trending reels/TikToks that will get good engagement. I have made two so far, and they have been doing good. According to the insights, my reels are getting between 6,000- and 8,500 views whereas last semester they were only getting 2,500-6,000, so there is definitely an improvement, but I would like to get the numbers higher as the semester goes on. I believe these reels are doing better than the past ones because we are staying on top of current trends and songs. We are also trying to get more interaction from other housing workers like the RA's across campus because people love it when they see their friend or RA on our page and leave a comment! Because of that, I sent out an email to all the RAs to ask them to join us in one of our TikToks and the video did great. I have also made some graphics for the Instagram page which I scheduled the post through Zoho Social. One of my coworkers has noticed that posting at off times such as 5:07 rather than 5 on the dot makes the post perform better, so that is when I scheduled the post for. During one of my shifts, there was a tabling event outside of Fisher. My supervisor Sophie Schrader and I teamed up with the Off-Campus Housing team to hand out cupcakes and answer housing questions. And finally, my big main task of the semester is to create a video showcasing that "Life is Good at the Dub". I have been collecting videos across campus of students doing fun activities in the residence halls and in the outside areas. I have started the editing process of this video. Although the project has a long way to go before it is fully finished, I am excited to see how it turns out. This project has been my favorite to work on so far. I have enjoyed collecting the footage and having the creative freedom to edit whatever I want.

Surprise dummies!!!
I finished the book. Earlier than I thought it would. I have many things to say. One of the things I would like to do ASAP, is my book review. So here it goes.
Holden, the narrator and protagonist, relates the account of his travels before Christmas from what appears to be a sanatorium. Holden is at Pencey Prep School when the story opens, making his way to Spencer, his history teacher's home , so he can say goodbye. He informs the reader that he was expelled as a result of failing the majority of his classes. Following his visit to Spencer, Holden runs into Ward Stradlater, his roommate, who asks him to write an essay for English class while he goes on a date with a longstanding Holden acquaintance. Holden writes about his younger brother Allie's baseball glove after they had agreed to this. Allie passed away from leukemia. Holden is informed by Stradlater upon his return that the essay. Holden becomes enraged when Stradlater refuses to reveal if he had sex with his date. Holden storms out, leaving Pencey in New York City a few days early for Christmas break. He is unable to return home after he gets to New York since his parents are still unaware that he has been expelled. He decides to stay at the Edmont Hotel instead, where he sees some sexually graphic events through the windows of other rooms. He then seeks out social connection at the hotel's nightclub, the Lavender Room, as a result of his loneliness. He visits another nightclub after speaking with a few women there, but leaves after spotting his older brother's ex-girlfriend. Once he arrives to the hotel, he asks a prostitute to attend to his room so he may speak to her. He gets punched in the stomach as a result of what happened. Holden contacts his ex-girlfriend Sally Hayes the following morning. After sharing the day together, Holden makes a rude comment, and she breaks down and pulls away. Later, Holden meets up with Carl Luce, a former classmate, at a bar, but Luce departs early after becoming irritated with Holden's crude remarks. Holden stays behind and consumes alcohol on his own. He lingers around Central Park after he departs until the cold forces him to go back to his family's apartment. Still hesitant to confront his parents, he sneaks in and discovers Phoebe, his sister who is 10 years old. When she learns that Holden has failed, she is angry and accuses him of being uninterested in anything. At this point, Holden tells his sister about his dream when he heard a little child singing the song "If a body catches a body comin' thro the rye," he was inspired to create "the catcher in the rye." According to Phoebe, the line is from a Robert Burns poem called "If a Body Meet a Body Comin Thro the Rye." Holden sneaks away as they hear their parents arriving from a night out. Holden makes contact with Mr. Antolini, his ex English teacher, who offers Holden to stay at his house. On Antolini's couch, Holden drops out and wakes up to see Antolini petting his forehead, which he perceives as a sexual drive. He leaves right away and spends the rest of the evening at Grand Central Station. When he wakes up, he goes to Phoebe's school and drops off a letter asking her to meet him at a museum at lunch, informing her of his plans to flee. She insists on coming with him and shows up there with a suitcase packed. He declines and offers to take her to the zoo instead. Outside, in the cold rain, he sees her ride the carousel. This indicates the ending of the flashback. Holden explains that he has "fallen poorly," but that he hopes to attend a different school next fall as the book comes to an end.
Woah. Heavy, isnât it? Well, for you lazy boys that are so useless in life that you are unable to read a book by yourself and need me to summarize it, there you go. Now I ask you to get prepared for the next entry, because I decided to write it in a stream of consciousness. Just like my J.D. Cheers, mate!!!

Enjoy!
Touya was a terrible student in school. He was smart and got good grades when he actually studied, but he didn't have any interest or motivation to do anything other than hero training. His teachers at UA had to threaten expulsion to get him to focus on his studies more. He wasn't happy about it, but at least he graduated with high grades.
Enji doesn't have the best relationship with his parents. They were quite neglectful and really only cared about him making it in the hero world. They weren't very supportive of his choice to become a hero, rather they wanted him to take over the family business. They didn't have much faith in him and Enji thinks that's why he's so ambitious. He wanted to prove them wrong, which he did. Of course, after he made it to the higher ranks, his parents tried to reconcile but he's still hesitant with them. It's always tense between them why they visit, but Enji tries not to let it affect their relationship with his kids because they are their grandchildren after all. And Enji has to admit that they are much better grandparents than they were parents.
Rei's side of the family is much more involved in their lives. She has a good relationship with her parents and they were very supportive of her marriage to Enji. Ironically, Enji feels much more comfortable around them than he does his own parents. They treat him like their own son. They're close to their grandchildren too. They joined the rest of the family at the Sports Festivals to watch Touya and later Shouto.
Natsuo is a very social person, which confuses Enji and Rei because he did not get it from them. He was that kid in school who was friends with everyone. The rest of the family gets shocked when they see how many contacts he has in his phone. Everywhere he goes, he sees someone he knows from somewhere.
They are very wealthy. Not only does Enji make a ton of money from his hero work, but he also comes from a very wealthy family himself. Rei's family is pretty well off too, though not to the same extent. Enji and Rei never really put limits on their kids' spending, which may have spoiled them a bit. They all have access to their parents' bank accounts and would never think twice about taking from it.
Out of all of them, Touya's the biggest spender. He mostly buys clothes (he's also the most fashion-conscious), he's into designer brands. He also owns a motorcycle. That purchase really made Enji and Rei question their limits.
Fuyumi doesn't buy a lot of clothes, she spends more on outings with her friends. She'll usually offer to pay just because she can. She likes buying her friends expensive birthday presents too.
Natsuo spends on a variety of things- video games, takeout, tickets to concerts and sporting events, the latest technology, you name it. Recently, he's been spending a lot on dates with his girlfriend.
Shouto is an avid manga reader and collecter and will not hesitate to buy a new one. He was very excited when he found out that Sero shared his interest. They often stay up late in the dorms reading through Shouto's collection.
Touya has always entertained the idea of one day taking over his father's agency after he retires. Enji's never said anything about the future of his agency, simply because he hasn't thought that far ahead yet, but he wouldn't be entirely opposed to the idea. Touya hasn't brought it up though, it's merely a fantasy for now.
Natsuo was the only unplanned child, Touya was the smallest when born, Fuyumi came a bit late, and Shouto came about a month early.
They have a family groupchat and a siblings groupchat (where they mostly just complain about their parents).
When they were young, one of Fuyumi's favorite games was playing house. Convincing Shouto and Natsuo to play along as the kids was never difficult- Shouto was too young to care what the game was, he just wanted to be involved, and Natsuo could easily be bribed with as little as a cookie. Convincing Touya to roleplay as the dad took a lot more effort on Fuyumi's part, but someway or another she always managed to succeed (usually through means of blackmail- Touya could never keep his secrets from her). Rei still has some home videos she secretly took of the kids playing and showed them to Enji. He almost melted from the cuteness of it.
The kids have never seen those videos and are unaware of their existence. Touya would die if he found out about them.
Shouto was an avid sleepwalker as a kid. He still does it sometimes, but only when he's really stressed or tired.
Enji is a bit of a workaholic. He's slowed down since the kids came along, but every now and then he'll need a reminder to stop focusing on work so much. This usually comes in the form of Rei hiding his laptop so he can't work from home.
Touya has an obsession with spicy food. He claims he can handle it, even though everyone knows he can't. Despite his obvious intolerance though, he keeps torturing himself by always making his food unnecessarily spicy or ordering the spiciest dish on the menu when eating out. No one understands why he does this to himself. Enji keeps saying it's just a phase (even though it's been like ten years) and Rei just thinks her son is crazy (she's probably right).
Speaking of spicy food, no Todoroki can tolerate it, not even Enji. It's like genetic or something.
Rei and Fuyumi have a very close relationship. They often go on outings together like shopping or coffee dates. Rei even visited Fuyumi at work once and Fuyumi introduced her to her class.
The Todoroki kids are the type of siblings who can go from being on the verge of killing each other one minute to forgetting all about in order to team up to harass their parents the next minute.

"I don't wanna leave you, Daddy"
(A/N): This was requested by an Anon and it's based on this concept. I hope you are ready for the feels.
Summary: Hotch's daughter is an introvert. A quiet one. But why does she go even quieter after her mother's death?
Warnings: So much hurt. Angst. Fluff. It's bitter sweet.
Wordcount: 2.3k
âšMasterlistâš _____________________________
(Y/N) never really was an outgoing person. Even since she was able to walk and talk, she still clung to her parents. She refused to play on the playground when other children were there. Socializing was just not her thing. Her parents were sure that she would never be the person to stand up and perform on stage spontaneously. And it is ok.
This doesnât really change when Jack comes around. Sure, as he grows older and more capable of things (Y/N) plays with him. But it really seems like he is the only one around her age she is not afraid to befriend.
Aaron and Haley reassure themselves that their daughter will find friends in elementary school. After all this is an institution where many children go to and there also are adults trained for helping them coming along. She definitely will find at least one other kid to hang out with regularly and learn how to be a proper child. Because as of right now (Y/N) is more like a little adult, taking responsibilities, like watching over her little brother, she doesnât need to do voluntarily. Maybe she will be more messy, rebellious, anything but a perfect child.
But this doesnât exactly happen. (Y/N)âs teachers are really happy with her. Every parent-teacher conference is about how well and polite she is, always behaving good and following the rules. Sadly, they donât have any good news regarding her social life. Itâs not that she doesnât get along with her classmates, itâs just that she isnât able to strike up a conversation or is very good at keeping one long enough that a kid is interested in her.
Knowing that (Y/N) is mostly quiet in her school days, Aaron makes it a habit to bring her more often to the office. She surprisingly warms quickly up to his team and whenever she is around them the girl is an unstoppable tornado running loose around the bullpen.
This is kind of how she grows up until the age of middle school. (Y/N) learns some social skills and makes a few friends over the last few years. Unfortunately these friendships are not as deep as the parents wish, still itâs better than nothing.
Things get difficult when Aaron and Haley start to separate. It never is easy when parents fall out of love and it is not only difficult for Jack to see his father not as often as he used to, considering he still is a toddler needing both parents. Especially (Y/N), who is more of a daddyâs girl than a mommyâs girl, suffers from the situation at home.
Of course itâs hard on her to not see her father for a week or two at a time, but ever since her parents are going on parted ways she sees him at most one weekend every three weeks. This also changes her social life dramastically.
â(Y/N), donât you wanna do something with your friends? You can invite them over for the weekendâ, Haley suggests after watching her daughter not going out with somebody outside of school for several days. For the past two weeks the ten year old just comes home, does her homework and puts her nose in one of the books her Uncle Spencer recommended.
The girl only looks up at her mother to shake her head. âWhy not, Sweetie? I havenât seen William and John in so long. Are you still friends with them?â (Y/N) nods again. âSo what is it? Are you guys fighting?â Haley sits down next to her on her bed.
âNo, they just-just donât know about this. I donât want to tell them. And I want to stay home. Itâs ok how it is right nowâ, she admits. Her motherâs heart breaks at that statement.
In this moment she realizes that anything a parent does has immediate consequences for the children. âIâm sorry, Sweetie. I didnât know this is so hard for you. Maybe you can talk to them over the next few days about it, I think itâll help you. Do you want to watch a film with me for now? Jack has a sleepover at a friendâs. We can do a girlâs night. We hadnât had one in a long time.â
(Y/N)âs eyes light up at that. âWith all the candy in the world?â Haley smiles at the newfound excitement. âOf course. Anything you want.â
From only seeing Aaron every now and then it suddenly turns to not knowing when she will see him next. After George Foyet ambushes him and makes his family into the next target, (Y/N), her brother and her mother have to go into witness protection.
The goodbye at the hospital is painful and filled with tears. âBut Dad, I donât want to leave you. Iâll miss you too much. I donât like not seeing you. And what about you? You will be more lonely and-and I canât leave youâ, she confesses, sobbing into him.
Hotch has to hold his own tears back. He doesnât want to come over as stoic, but as the strong father figure he always tries to be. âHoney, I know Iâll miss you so much. You have to be strong for your mother. This will not be easy and I know it. I promise to do my best to get all of you back as soon as possible, ok? Please be good for your mother and behave. We all need to work together for you to get back fast and safely.â
(Y/N) continues to cry into his hospital gown. Aaron canât help it and dissolves in tears himself while trying to calm her down. âShh, Honey. Everything will be fine. Iâm so so sorry for all this. I never wanted something like this to happen. Shh, we will see each other real soon. The team and I will do our best. Just please, donât cry. Please, it all will be better. I canât let you go without seeing your beautiful laugh for one last time.â
âI donât wanna leave you, Daddy. I-I wanna stay with you and Uncle Dave and Auntie JJ and Uncle Spencer and Uncle Der and Auntie Penny and Auntie Em. Iâm scared you wonât be fine when we come back.â
Itâs needless to say that nobody cracked even a smile that day.
Going into witness protection made Haley worry about Jack especially. He is just four years old and she isnât sure how much he understands about whatâs going on. Surprisingly the boy gets accustomed to the situation pretty fast. Of course he misses his father and his people from school, but he is also quick to meet new ones in the town they moved to.
(Y/N) has bigger problems. New school. New kids. New everything.
âMaybe you can see it as a fresh start. Here is nobody you know. You can be whoever you want to be. I can take you shopping and you can try out a new styleâ, her mother tries to make the situation sound advantageous to her. But the girl dryly answers: âWhen somebody doesnât like me how I am now, how will they like an act?â
Sam Kassmeyer regularly reports back to Aaron about his familyâs well being. âJack is thriving. His teachers describe him as a bundle of joy. (Y/N) slowly gets acclimated to the change. Haley told me she started making friends with a girl in their neighborhood. I already ran a background check and the family is clean.â
Hotch lets out a sigh of relief. He turns towards the image on Penelopeâs monitor. âHappy fifth birthday, Buddy.â
A few weeks after that it seems like the events overturn each other.
Foyet coming back. Kassmeyer getting tortured. Foyet finding Haley and the children. Them coming back to their house. The call. Working the case with Jack. The gunshot. The fighting noises. Hotch opening the box and hugging both of his children, relieved to see them alive.
The following weeks are difficult for the now smaller family. They mostly consist of watching videos of happy memories and talking about their feelings. Although itâs more like Jack talking about his feelings, (Y/N) went mostly silent ever since their motherâs death. This worries her father more than anything.
Two months have gone by. âHey Honey, Iâm going into the office today. Do you wanna come with me, stay at home or go to school? Anything is fine by meâ, he asks her softly, kneeling beside her chair at the table. The girl is munching on her cereal halfheartedly.
âCan I come to the office?â (Y/N) asks in a hoarse voice. Itâs actually the first time in four days that Aaron hears her voice. A small smile forms on his face. âOf course, thatâs nice. Aunt Penny is asking me after her favorite Hotchner for days on end now. And Uncle Spencer got a stack of books he has for you to read.â
His daughter nods and quickly gets ready. They are soon on their way to Quantico after dropping Jack off at daycare. âHow are your classmates? Do you like the new school?â They decided to send (Y/N) to a different school. She couldnât bear the thought of only being the girl whose Mom died because of a serial killer.
âItâs fine. There are a few girls who are really nice. I think we can be friends. Mo-â She suddenly cuts herself off. Aaron glances over at her. âContinue, Sweetheart. Just tell me whatâs on your mindâ, he tries to encourage her.
The girl hesitates before following her fatherâs advice. âMom would have liked them,â she mumbles. Itâs quiet for a few seconds. Hotch is looking for a suitable answer. After all itâs the first time she talked about her mother since her death. âIâm sure of it, Honey. Maybe you can invite them over and I can get to know them. Think about it, no pressure of course.â (Y/N) nods to indicate that she heard him.
Not long later they enter the bullpen. âThere she is! My little Hotchner! How you doing, Baby?â Derek asks her and envelopes her into a hug. But she only shrugs her shoulders. This goes on for the rest of the day. Whenever anyone talks to her, the only answer is given by her body language.
Hotch watches helplessly Spencer trying to engage in a conversation with her. His arms and hands are waving around. (Y/N) though just looks at him without being really there mentally. It seems like she is lost in her own thoughts, like it happened so often over the last few months.
âHave you tried talking to her about it?â Dave asks, sitting down on the chair opposite of him. Aaron looks at him funny. âOf course. But (Y/N) is just not ready to talk about Haley and everybody grieves differently. I canât force her to speak, Dave.â
The older agent leans back in his seat. âI donât think she needs to talk about her. This probably is too soon. She needs to talk about you. The changes.â After a short pause, in which the other one still doesnât get the point, Rossi continues. âThat little girl just lost her mother. She is scared to lose her father, the one with the high risk job. I think that is enough to talk about.â
This occupies the agent for the remainder of the day. Aaron was so invested in fulfilling both parent roles, that he forgot that he is just a father. The man his children go to when they have a nightmare. The one, who is more lenient than their mother. He canât be both ones. He canât be two people in one.
A kid trusts a mother and a father usually. And he canât be mother and father at once. Hotch has to accept the fact. The fact that (Y/N) and Jack are going to grow up without a mother. But luckily not without mother figures.
Later that day, after tucking Jack in, Aaron knocks on his daughterâs door. A small âCome in!â echoes back to him. He enters her room and spots (Y/N) already in her bed reading a book Spencer gave her today.
âHey, do you have time before itâs lights out?â He asks, still wanting to give her the upper hand on this. The girl nods and scoots over for her father to take a place. He lays next to her, pulling his daughter into a hug.
âI know I canât promise it. Coming back to you every time. You know it as much as I do. But I promise you to try anything and everything in the books. You guys keep me going.â Tears roll over both of their faces.
âI-I justâ, (Y/N) moves her head onto his chest to sob into it, âJust donât wanna lose you, too. I-I donât think I-I canât be the girl, who doesnât have a mother AND a father. C-can you stop that from happening?â Hotch has to wipe his eyes before answering.
âI-I try to keep that from happening, Honey. I promise.â
This is how they fall asleep, squished in a twin bed close to each other. In the morning they both are overheated and got a visitor during the night. Jack wakes them up, asking why they had a sleepover without him.
This morning is the first time Aaron sees (Y/N) smiles since day zero.

go big or go home
this was a request from @kk2016
Hi!! could you write about being pregnant with Harry but no one knew so you guys show up to the Grammys together and everyone can see your baby bump through your dress?
here is the link to the dress youâre wearing. I have no idea if this is a good option, Iâm terrible with fashion :) but I thought it was cute! If you hate it, definitely just imagine something else :)
warnings: pregnancy
word count: 2.8k
It wasn't exactly hard to hide a pregnancy during a pandemic. You barely left the house, and if you did, you weren't recognized. The one time you and Harry had been spotted, you had only been 4 months along and were wearing an oversized sweater. So it was safe to say this baby was your family's little secret.
Harry knew, of course. He had been the first person to know (after Anne and the doctor who confirmed the pregnancy). You had got around to telling the rest of your families after the first trimester was over. The "inner circle," as you liked to call it, were the few people who were aware. This consisted of your parents, Anne, Gemma, Harry's band, Jeff and Glenne. That was it. Neither of you were wild on the idea of Harry's entire fanbase knowing, so you kept it under wraps as best you could.
Which, once again, wasn't hard to do. You didn't even have to go out for groceries; they could be delivered. You could buy everything for the nursery online and have it sent directly to your front doorstep. You and Harry had stayed inside for the better part of the past seven months.
However, there was one event coming up that you absolutely refused miss out on. The Grammys. At first, Harry thought you should stay home. He was worried you would get sick, and how it might affect the baby. He was worried about his fans finding out. He was worried he wouldn't win and he would have to see your disappointed face right next to him.
Of course, you were not about to let this happen. You assured him you wouldn't get within six feet of anyone besides him. You wouldn't shake anyone's hand or hug anyone. You would wear two masks, if it would make him feel safer. You would shower in hand sanitizer. You really didn't care what you had to do; you were not going to miss this night.
"Harry, I swear to God, if you keep giving me that terrified look..."
"I'm sorry!" He exclaimed, dragging a hand over his face. "I'm allowed to be a little apprehensive. This really isn't a good idea, I think it might be best if you just stay home. I just-"
"Absolutely not," you spun around, placing your hands on your hips. "I'm going to be there, in person, so I can watch my husband become a Grammy winner."
"You can watch from here!" He argued. "Plus, that way, you don't have to walk around all night. I know your feet have been bugging you, and-"
"Don't use this pregnancy against me!" You threw your head back, taking a deep breath.
"I'm sorry, I'm not," he said, stepping closer and resting his hands on your belly. "I just want you to be safe. You and our little girl."
"I know," you brought up your hand to brush along his cheekbone. "And we will be. I'm not going to get close to anyone. I'm not going to touch anything. I'm going to have two masks on the entire night. Harry, there won't be anyone safer than me this whole night. I promise."
"I just..."
When he didn't finish his sentence, you leaned in to meet his eyes. "What are you really worried about?"
"Lots of things," he murmured. "Besides the literal plague? I'm worried about people finding out and being cruel. I don't want to deal with that, and I don't ever want you to be exposed to it. I'm worried something bad will happen, and it'll be all my fault for letting you come along. And... I'm worried you'll be disappointed if I don't win." His last sentence was so quiet you barely heard it, but it still made your heart ache.
"Baby..." You said quietly, your voice sad. You ignored his other two worries for now, because this one was clearly the most important to deal with. âYou think I'll be disappointed in you?"
He nodded, looking at his hands on you instead of meeting your eyes. "Everything I do, it's all for you. You and her. What if it's not enough? What if I fail?"
"Harry," you kept your hands on his face, directing him to look at you. "I will never, ever be disappointed in you. You are amazing, in everything you do. Understand? I personally think you will be a three time Grammy winner at the end of the night-" he grinned at this- "But even if you're not, I will still be so incredibly proud of you. I will always, always be proud of you, and I will always love you. Okay?"
He didn't move, but you used your grip on his face to nod his head up and down. His smile grew bigger, and he grabbed your wrist gently. He turned his head to kiss your palm, sighing softly before he pulled away.
"I love you so much," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "How do you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Make me feel better. You always know exactly what to say."
You shrugged with a small smile. "I'm just amazing, I think."
"I think so too."
-----
You were sitting on the couch, dressed in your normal quarantine clothing. Hoodies. Sweatpants for him, leggings for you. Why would you get dressed up for a virtual acceptance ceremony?
You bounced excitedly as they announced "Adore You" as one of the nominations for best music video. Harry smiled when you gripped his arm.
"I don't have a good feeling about this," he admitted.
"Well, you're just a ray of sunshine today," you huffed. "Here it comes!"
"And the Grammy goes to... Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and WizKid."
You slumped back slightly, patting his arm.
He laughed lightly at your reaction. "She deserves it."
You nodded. "Not to be mean to you, but yeah, she definitely does."
-----
As the hours wore on, you could tell Harry was getting more nervous.
"It's just- it's my first performance in a while. What if it's not good?"
"Harry," you grabbed his face again. "It will be amazing. Yes?"
Again, he didn't respond. Again, you had to physically move his head up and down in a nod. Again, this made him laugh. It was a small gesture, but you could tell it helped calm him down at least a little bit.
"There's one thing we haven't talked about," he pulled away from you, going through his drawers to find his socks.
"What's that?"
"Your outfit."
You shook your head. "I already picked my dress." You pulled out the garment bag, unzipping it to show him. It was fairly simple; you didn't want to overshadow him on his big day.
He smiled. "It's beautiful."
You nodded. "We're going to look so hot together."
"Couple of the year, I think."
"We might break the internet. Seriously. You're wearing a leather jacket with no shirt and I'm pregnant. Twitter is going to explode."
He laughed again, pulling you into his arms. "Are you sure you're ok with everyone knowing? It might not be good, people's reactions can be really-"
"You do realize they will have to find out at some time, right? You can't exactly hide a child forever."
"I know," he sighed. "I just like living in our little bubble, where it's only me and you who know."
"And your mom. And Gemma. And my parents. And Sarah, and Mitch, and Adam, and Ny, and Charlotte, and Jeff and-"
"Alright, alright, you've made your point," he chuckled. "But you know what I mean."
"I do," you nodded. "And I'm ok with people knowing. Besides, it'll blow over soon. I can just stay off socials until it does."
Harry sighed again. "I wish you didn't have to. I wish people would just..."
"Treat people with kindness," you grinned. "Maybe they don't know. Maybe you should tell them to do that sometime."
He rolled his eyes playfully, pulling away from you. "You're funny."
"Hilarious, I know."
"I have to get ready," he sighed. "One last try- are you sure you don't want to stay home?"
"Not a chance," you smiled. "Now shoo so I can get dressed."
-----
His hands were shaking as he opened the door of his dressing room. You gripped his arm tighter, trying to remind him you were here for him.
"Everything's going to be ok," you said softly.
He nodded, but his hands still shook.
"I'll be right offstage, you can look at me if you get nervous," you reminded him. "This might not be the time, but I'm, like, really excited to see you perform."
"Yeah?" He gave a small smile.
You nodded. "It's been a while since I've been able to see that. And you look... very nice in this outfit."
"Very nice, huh?" He laughed. "What a compliment."
"I do have a way with words," you grinned.
"Always," he leaned his forehead against yours. "Now what was it you said earlier? Shoo, so I can get dressed."
"I'll be just offstage," you reminded him one last time, blowing him a kiss as you stepped out of the room.
-----
You couldn't take your eyes off him for the entire performance. He was worried for no reason, because he was incredible. He was born to do this, you could tell.
You cheered louder than anyone else when he finished, earning a cheeky smile from him. As soon as he could get away, he ran over to you and enveloped you in his arms.
"I told you you'd be amazing," you whispered.
He nodded, wearing the biggest smile you'd seen in days. "Couldn't have done it without you."
"I didn't do anything," you laughed.
"No, I couldn't have done it without your moral support," he clarified.
"Right, moral support," you nodded seriously before breaking into a smile again. "But really, that was amazing. You're perfect."
"That's all you, love," he returned the compliment, turning back around to watch Billie performing. He kept his arm around you, though. The camera panned to you a few times during the different performances, and you knew by this point the viewers at home had seen your bump. Your dress wasn't very tight fitting, but you were almost 8 months along. You were sure social media was exploding by now.
You didn't have to worry about that though, not yet at least. You had a few more hours of calm.
-----
Harry's nerves had apparently returned once you got to the table. His hand was gripping yours even tighter than before and his leg bounced constantly. You placed your hand on his thigh, trying to calm his frantic movements. His eyes went to yours, and you could tell he was smiling under his mask.
"It will be fine," you reminded him. "Everything will be ok. You already did the hard part, remember?"
He nodded, taking in a deep breath. "Right. And soon, we can go home, and sit on the couch, and eat ice cream."
"Exactly," you smiled. "And I can get back in my leggings and not get dressed again for the next 6 months."
He laughed at this, and his grip on your hand loosened. He still kept hold of you, but you could tell he wasn't so nervous anymore.
"Ok, shh, they're announcing it now," you said excitedly.
Harry looked down, apparently seized with nerves again.
"And the Grammy goes to... Watermelon Sugar, Harry Styles."
His eyes went wide, and your face split into a giant grin. He reached his arm out to grab yours, almost like he didn't believe what had just happened.
He pulled his mask off, standing up. He took your hand, gesturing for you to stand too, so of course you obliged. He pulled you against him, and you could feel how fast his heart was beating. When he pulled away, you smiled up at him.
"I knew you would win," you said softly, still beaming. "Now go!" You gave his shoulder a gentle push toward the stage.
"Wow, um..." He blew out a breath, looking at you before he spoke again. "To everyone who made this record with me, thank you so much. This was the first song we wrote after my first album came out, during a day off in Nashville, and I just want to say thanks to Tom, Tyler, Mitch, and everyone... Rob Stringer, and everyone at Colombia, my manager Jeffery, who has always nudged me to be better and never pushed me, thank you so much. I feel very grateful to be here, thank you. All of these songs are fucking massive, so thank you so much, I feel very honored to be here among all of you, so thank you so much. And I want to say-" he looked at you again, a smile of adoration crossing his face. "Most importantly, thank you to my wife. Y/N, I love you more than anything else on this planet, and I couldn't have done any of this without you. You make it all possible, so... thank you to the light of my life, and of course our daughter." His eyes went wide at the last sentence, like he hadn't planned to say that. He looked around nervously before he quickly made his way back to his seat.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to say that, it slipped out-"
You shook your head, taking his hand. "It's ok, don't worry about it," you smiled. "I'm so proud of you."
He put his mask back on, but it didn't hide the happiness on his face.
-----Â Â
Once everything was over and you had both climbed into the car to go home, it seemed to really hit him.
"I won a Grammy," he said in disbelief, looking down at the award in his hands.
"You won a Grammy," you repeated with a big smile on your face. "Grammy winner Harry Styles."
"Yeah," he looked back up at you, his eyes still wide. "That's... insane."
You nodded. "And very impressive. And I'm so proud of you."
He smiled, scooting closer so he could put his arm around you. "Grammy winner Harry Styles... and his amazing wife."
"And their amazing daughter," you added, placing his other hand over your stomach. "Feel that? She's been kicking all night. She's excited for you."
He grinned, before his face dropped back into one of concern. "Are you sure you're ok with what I said? I really didn't mean to, I just got caught up, it-"
"Baby," you stopped him. "I promise, it's ok. Besides, everyone knew the minute I walked in there."
"Right," he nodded. "Has your phone been blowing up?"
You shrugged. "I turned it off. Should we check?"
"I'm a little nervous," he admitted.
"I'm gonna do it." You fished your phone out of your purse, eyes widening when you saw how many notifications you had. From every possible app. Congratulations texts, excited DMs, missed calls, and then there were the mentions. There were well over a hundred on your lockscreen alone.
You cleared all of them, deciding to open Twitter and see how bad it was. You were very pleasantly surprised.
"harry's daughter" was #1 on the trending page, and "harry in leather" was right behind it. Clicking on the first one, you found several GIFs of the terrified look on Harry's face when he accidentally made the announcement. You smiled, but scrolled further. Hundreds of fans were typing in all caps, apparently very excited that Harry was going to be a father.
"You're right, we broke the internet," he grinned, looking through his own timeline. "I've seen my bare chest more in the last five minutes than my entire life before this."
"What a power couple we are," you laughed. "We got the top two trending spots."
"What an accomplishment," he joked.
You scrolled for a few more minutes, still yet to see a negative message. "You were worried for nothing, babe. They're all very excited for us."
"I see that," he grinned. "They've also named our baby for us, and somehow know her zodiac sign."
"Oh, wonderful," you laughed. "But really, it could have been worse."
"Definitely," he nodded. "Well, that's one way to announce a pregnancy. On live TV in front of the entire nation."
"Yeah, you know, go big or go home."
"Exactly."
Closing Twitter, you moved on to Instagram. You gasped when you saw the first picture on your feed. "Sarah posted her bump! Now we can be baby buddies in public, not just in secret."
Harry smiled, turning off his phone and pulling you closer to him.
"omg, baby buddies :)" you commented. Within seconds, Sarah had liked the comment and replied with "they will be best friendsđ"
With that, you turned off your own device and leaned into his side. "What a good night. Aren't you glad I came with you?"
"I am," he admitted. "Very glad. Thanks for being stubborn."
"Always."

how would the s2 lis act like after a fight?
I donât have thoughts for all of them BUT-
Arjun: He doesnât stay mad for long, so as long as you both apologize to each other heâs back to being his goofy self. Heâs almost always the first to apologize, and when he does you know he MEANS it. Boy gives a sincere apology. He also typically seeks out reinforcement after the conflict concludes, so makeup sex or cuddling afterwards is not out of the question.Â
Bobby: SULKY. My dude is SULKY. Less so if he was in the wrong and had to apologize, but if MC or Noah/his friends were in the wrong and apologized he is SO pouty itâs insufferable. Expect a lot of âwhatâs wrong?â ânothing!â âyou sure?â âabsolutely :)â *goes back to staring out the window and lighting up when he finds a meme to share with you but then face dropping as he remembers heâs supposed to be upset*. You have to call him out on it for him to stop- I donât think itâs that he doesnât realize, itâs that he needs you to acknowledge that heâs upset before he can let it go. Validate his feelings and then heâll go back to normal.
Carl: Carl insulates a lot of events in his life from the feelings they cause, so while he gets really worked up if heâs being yelled at or feels like youâre not listening, all of those feelings will dissipate after a night of rest or blowing off steam with videogames/something enjoyable. If he doesnât get that break, the fight will throw him off the rest of the day- he wonât be able to work and will be super irritable with everyone else. But once he gets that break, itâs like nothing even happened, heâs 100% back to normal with no feelings about it. If the issue still needs to be resolved, heâs able to come back to it dispassionately and work out the details without emotions getting in the way.
Elisa: Iâm torn. She either handles fights EXTREMELY messily or VERY privately. Like she either posts dramatic vague snapchats/instagrams/whatever and gets everyone all âoh no what happenedâ âhope everythings okay :/â, or she intentionally insulates her social media and brand from any conflict and continues posting as normal. Both would feel weird from MCâs perspective, because she either feels like the whole world is party to their arguments, or sees queued posts of them being lovey dovey posted when theyâre very much not talking to each other. Idk, sound off in the replies as to which you think is more likely for Elisa.
Gary: I think he gives MC the silent treatment, lmao. If MCâs upset with him, heâs very clueless and kind of acts like a victim (âwhy are you maaaad?â), but if heâs mad at her heâll be very childish about it.Â
Rahim/Noah: I put them together because theyâre both VERY similar in how they react to conflict- avoid avoid AVOID. They both try to escape during the fight, and after it theyâre going to ghost you. If you live together, expect them to spend lots of time out of the house on work or at the gym or with friends. Even after you both apologize and âresolveâ the issue, theyâre going to be distant and weird. You canât rush them getting over it either, if you confront them about being distant theyâll just be distant for even longer (or itâll turn into another fight). But spontaneously theyâll just get over it in a snap and be back to acting like normal, and it wonât be triggered by anything. Theyâll just internally come to terms and then be home again/affectionate with you like normal. Maybe Rahim will do a fancy dinner or romantic gesture once he gets to that point, whereas Noah itâll seem more subtle.

Prima Vista Part VIII
[ previous ]
Rating: E (explicit; mdni) Pairing: Mike Zacharias x fem!reader wc: ~13.2k
Warnings: this one fucking hurts, pining, stupid decisions, miscommunications, explicit sexual content (itâs time for something weâve been waiting for), yet another party, angst A/N: Read this, but before you murder me remember thereâs one more after this. Also, this isnât the big thing youâve been waiting for, but I know itâs something a lot of people have wanted to see. Enjoy this ouchie.Â
Mike doesnât feel human when he wakes up. Heâs nearly positive he no longer isâbody taken over by some creature of the bog with toxic breath. Jesus, what the fuck happened last night?
Blinking hurts. Shifting his leg hurts. His chest is fucking killing him, feels like he bruised his god damn sternum, and when he moves to sit up in a bed that is not his, overwhelming nausea has Mike groaning and covering his mouth with one hand.Â
âHe has risen,â a vaguely familiar baritone voice rings through the air, loud enough to make Mike wave his other hand in an attempt to mute it. Erwin chuckles, paying him no attention apparently as he speaks again, âGood timing, too. I just came to drop this off.â
Mike tries to focus his bleary eyes on the nightstand where his friend sets down a bottle of water, a bigger bottle of Gatorade, and several liquid gel pills.Â
âChill here for as long as you need. Iâm just watching the pledges clean downstairs. Want me to bring the trash can over?â Erwinâs concern canât entirely hide the amusement in his voice. Itâs irritating, but also⊠Mike needs that trash can.
âYeah,â he croaks through his palm. âThanks.â
Erwin nods and grabs the little plastic bin, setting it down next to the bed. Mike considers just picking it up and sitting with it in his lap, but he doesnât know if heâll be able to stay upright for long enough.
âIâll be downstairs. If you need anything, youâll just have to yell because your phone is definitely sitting in a bag of rice in the kitchen right now.â
 âWhat?â Mike frowns. How evenâŠ
âIt got wet,â Erwin states, like that clarifies anything. âProbably in the shower.â
 âWhy was Iââ
âWe can talk about it when youâre lessâŠâ Erwin gestures to Mikeâs face with one finger and grimaces as he finishes, âGreen. You didnât do anything too terrible, though, so you can rest easy.â
He leaves, and Mike chokes down the pills and a few gulps of water before gently laying back down. He has to retrace metaphorical footsteps to get to the last thing he remembers from the night before, and itâs body shots off some blonde clone. His order of events goes: hanging out with Rhi, talking with you and Erwin, Zeke showing up, catching Eren mid-roofie attempt and throwing him out, getting mad at Nile, and then just a lot of drinking. Too much. Of different kinds. That had been dumb.Â
He thinks he spent a little while in the bathroom. Erwin was there. And, Nile came and went. He thinks he may have heard your voice a few times but canât be sure, and honestly, trying to recall anything from the period of time his brain was literally incapable of processing new memories is a pretty big waste of time.
Mike spends most of the day in Erwinâs room. He drifts in and out of restless sleep, waking up to drink his water and Gatorade. At some point, one of the kids, Jean, knocks on the door and drops a bowl of soup off, mumbles, âErwin told me to bring this up here.â Mike hasnât spent a ton of time around the current pledge class, but Erwin must like Jean if he trusted the kid enough to give him his room code.Â
The soup settles his stomach enough to move around a little more. His headache ebbs into a dull throb, and the sharp ache in his chest fades into that of a bruise. By around five o'clock, Mike is finally able to amble downstairs, give everyone a tired wave, mumble his thanks to Erwin, then drive himself to his apartment.Â
He's still trying to piece together what happened the night before, but he just ends up more confused than before, so he decides to put it behind him and move on. Everyone deserves a wild night every once in a while.Â
 *
Thanksgiving nears. Mike has already made plans to go home to his parents which means he has to turn down the Pike house Friendsgiving offer that Erwin extends to him.Â
He tells Mike that Nile and Hitch will be there, but Marie might show her face, "So, that will be interesting."Â
Some of the brothers who can't make it home will attend. Erwin is bringing Maddie who Mike hasn't heard about in several months, but he's pretty sure that's just to throw him off the scent of whatever Erwin has going on with you. You, who will also be in attendance because apparently your mom opted to go on a girls trip instead of face the family. Mike can't blame her.Â
He thinks maybe he should reach out to you, to ask about the night he blacked out because he has a feeling you can give him some details that others can't, but Erwin assures Mike that you were only in the bathroom with him for a short time. "Just long enough to see you rip your shirt which she seemed a little too happy about."
Mike doesn't know what he'd say to you anyway. Even after learning that Zeke had blocked his number in your phone. He's still mad that you let the fucker get close enough to do that in the first place, that you had chosen him. It's a wound that just won't heal. Any time he sees you or hears your name, all Mike can think about is why he wasn't good enough.Â
So, he keeps distancing himself. It seems like the most appropriate thing he can do until he decides he'll be able to have a conversation with you without blowing up.Â
Mike's parents are happy to see him when he walks in the door. Scout jumps on him until he picks her up and holds her like the puppy she is not. He isn't surprised when his mom asks about you, if you and Mike sorted things out. The question hurts even if he was expecting it, seems like yesterday you were walking around the house like you'd always been a part of it.Â
Lying is the easiest path to take. He tells his parents that you had to go home for the break, that you couldn't split up your time between two families in just four days, and, of course, they buy it.Â
Thanksgiving day is nice enough. The family travels a couple cities over to Mike's aunt and uncle's house. It's much bigger, has room for the relatives that are able to make it. There are traditional Greek dishes as well as the usual turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc. A few pictures here and there, entertaining his younger cousinsâit's a good time.Â
Until Mike checks his various social media apps and sees the pictures from Friendsgiving.
They're tame, nothing wildly inappropriate, but they still make Mike scowl as he thumbs through them.Â
One of Nile cutting into the turkey, of Reiner ripping into a drumstick, Connie hoarding all of the cranberry sauce while his best friend, a girl named Sasha, does the same with the deviled eggs. Gelgar looks to be crying with a dot of potato salad in his hair. Marie is indeed there, glaring in the background of a photo where Nile and Hitch are tapping beer bottles together with silly smiles. She looks much happier in the shot of her and Maddie sitting together, laughing over glasses of wine.Â
Mike's heart stutters when he gets to a photo of you aiming to toss food into Reiner's mouth, then of you and Erwin both holding beers in one hand and pointing matching finger guns with the other.
Thick as fucking thieves. Two peas in a god damn pod. Mike wants to throw his phone out the window of his dad's suburban.Â
There are several more pictures that Mike doesn't bother to look at. He'd like to have a good time with his parents for the remainder of his break, and there's no way he'll be able to do that if he's pissed off.Â
So, he distracts himself. He goes on walks with Scout and plays with her for hours, watches old movies with his mom and dad, calls a couple relatives from overseas to catch up. But, those pictures are seared into the back of his mind, surfacing whenever he has down time.Â
He doesn't have any desire to go back to campus, not if he's gonna see you and Erwin together. His friend can deny it all he wants, but Mike knows something is going on between the two of you, and as he drives back to the college, he finally has the realization that⊠you might just be a shitty person.Â
Yeah, you have issues, but so does everyone. It doesn't excuse you fromâfrom fucking toying with people, from using them as puppets whenever you need to. Mike wishes he'd never even tempted you to sleep with him that last time. It had felt too good and too right, but apparently you don't feel the same way. You went right back to Zeke once you'd gotten what you wanted, and Mike should have seen that coming. He should have been prepared for it. On some level he knew that's what you'd do, but that never stopped him from hoping that maybe⊠maybe it would have opened your eyes.Â
Plus, it ruined the entire Jurassic Park franchise for him, so that sucks.Â
He picks up where he left off both in his classes and in his social life. He stays away from PKA as much as he can but still attends meetings when necessary. The lacrosse season is coming to an end, so he tries to make the most of it. Rhi ends up in his bed again, both of them taking what they can from each other. Erwin jokes that he's gonna fall in love with herâ "You know what happened the last time you tried to keep it casual," âand Mike nearly decks him in the face.Â
You don't try to talk to him, no texts or calls. When you see each other on campus, you don't spare him more than a sad glance as you pass him.Â
Mike is fine with it. He isn't about to be the one to make the move to talk things out. Honestly, he doesn't know if there's anything to talk out. You dated Zeke, and now you're dating Mike's best friend and trying to hide it.Â
He's mad at both of you, but it's easier to channel that blistering anger toward you rather than Erwin who he has to see on a regular basis. Besides, Erwin has always gotten around. Mike isn't especially surprised that he'd try his hand with you especially after what happened at the ranch house, but fuck, couldn't he have waited until after he and Mike graduated or something? Just disrespectful. That's what it is.Â
 *
"Bro, I do not wanna go to another party," Mike's voice rises in frustration. "Consider me partied the fuck out, okay? I'm tired of 'em."
"It's not even a party," Erwin tells him. "It's more like a gathering of⊠like-minded individuals."
 Mike snorts. "Yeah, okay."Â
"I'm not kidding! Like, twelve people at the most. All we're doing is hanging out at the ranch house."
"Will there be drinking?" Mike questions, moving his head back and forth in a mocking way.Â
Erwin shrugs his shoulders where he sits. "Of course there'll be drinking, but you don't have to partake. I just want you there to chill. Come on, man."
 "Who's going?"
The blond lists off some of the Friendsgiving group, but he doesn't get to finish because once Erwin utters your name, Mike cuts him off with a loud, "Nope!"
"Duuuude," Erwin sounds like the frustrated one now, not that he has any right to be.Â
"Don't dude me! Why the fuck would you think I'd have any interest in watching you two giggle and cuddle n' shit."
"Mike," Erwin groans, rubbing his forehead. "How many times do I have to tell youâŠ"
"You don't have to tell me anything. I already know what I need to know."
Standing up, Erwin seems like he's at his wit's end when he barks, "You don't know shit! You're seeing what you want to see without asking either of us! She misses you, dude. I'm just the next best thing."
"Nice to know your dick game isn't better than mine at least," Mike grumbles.Â
"Jesus Christ, you know what? I don't care. Come to the house, or don't come. Whatever."
Erwin takes long strides to get to Mike's front door, obviously ready to get away from him. He slams it hard enough to make Mike flinch.Â
He doesn't care how annoyed Erwin is with him. It's partially his fault that Mike doesn't want to go to the gathering, and he should know that. He'll come to understand eventually, and that thought makes it easier for Mike to make his decision. He's not gonna go. He refuses. There's no way. He won'tâ
 Mike ends up going.Â
After powering through finals and visiting his parents for another few days. He has a mental debate the entire way to the ranch house, swearing to himself, going over the pros and cons. He comes close to turning around more than a few times, but after a couple hours, Mike finally pulls into the large circle drive right behind Levi's black Prius.Â
Erwin is extremely surprised to see him but keeps his mouth closed about it, just tells him, "Room upstairs on the far right is still open."
Mike drops his stuff off then greets the othersâNile, Gelgar, Reiner, Jean, Marco, and Levi.Â
"Wasn't expecting to see you here," the last states, focused on burning the loose string of his hoodie with a lighter. "Erwin told me you guys had some bullshit argument."
"Happens sometimes," Mike dismisses as he takes a place on the couch.Â
"I guess. This is why I don't have a lot of friends. Can't put up with stupid shit like that."
"Oh, is that why?" Mike rolls his eyes.Â
Levi snickers, shaking his head. "Aw man, he was right. You are in a bad mood, aren't ya'?Â
 "Man, fuck off."
They sit in silence for a few minutes. Mike is bouncing his foot where it's thrown over his opposite legâanxious or angry or some other negative emotion he needs to get rid of.Â
"Party's gonna be a fucking sausage fest," Levi mumbles.Â
Nile passes behind the couch just in time to hear and informs the smaller man, "Not entirely. Maddie, Marie, Hitch, and Mike's little heartbreaker should be getting here soon."
Mike groans internally but speaks out loud, "This was a mistake. I can't fucking be here if you guys keep talking about her."
"If you can't handle us talking about her, how're you gonna handle seeing her?" Levi scoffs.Â
Erwin has stocked the bar with craft beer and various wines. Mike considers going ahead and breaking a few bottles open, but he resistsâdoesn't want a repeat of the forgotten party.Â
They set up a horror video game upstairs and an animated adult series downstairs. Erwin wasn't lying about it being a more relaxed environment than usual, but that doesn't stop Mike's neck from prickling when you arrive with Hitch at around five. Maddie and Marie show up a couple hours later, and Mike can feel the tension that surrounds all four of you. Amusing as it can be, he really doesn't have the patience for cattiness tonight.Â
High quality Chinese food is provided courtesy of Erwin's father's credit card as well as dipped strawberries that Nile keeps feeding Hitch. It gets Marie very heated very quickly, and Maddie has to talk her down in another room.Â
It makes Mike wonder if you would ever let him feed you like that or if you would snort and bat his hand away. What the fuck do you think you're doing, Zacharias? That's couples shit.
It makes him sigh and slouch on the couch, thankful you're upstairs watching Connie play the most recent Resident Evil.Â
He knows you're not a fan of horror, so the only reason you'd be up there is to avoid Mike.Â
 Good.Â
Erwin is the first to open the wine. Maddie won't leave his side, stuck to him like a magnet. The fact that he has to get a drink only furthers Mike's theory that Erwin didn't invite her as a real date.Â
He spends a fair amount of time shooting the shit with Levi. It isn't necessarily the most enjoyable conversation considering Levi's constant smartass comments, but it's better than trudging up to the second floor.Â
Nile fucks Hitch in the bathroom for everyone to hear. Marie starts crying and runs to the porch. This gathering is about as insufferable as Mike assumed it would be.Â
Eventually, you journey downstairs. It was inevitable. You spare Mike a glance and sigh as you make your way to the kitchen to grab a beerâyou don't even like beer, so whyâ
"Hey, can you grab me one too?" Erwin calls out, and when you hand it to him, he gives you that hundred watt grin Mike knows brings girls to their knees, but while Maddie stares at him with that dreamy look in her eyes, you just snort and gently shove him.Â
"Don't fuckin' look at me like that, Smith."
Ah, the last name card, the one that you pull to act like you're all aloof when really you're just reeling them in.Â
"Like what?" Erwin asks before taking a sip, still smiling around the rim of the bottle.Â
 "You know what."
Mike chooses then to go upstairs, knowing he steals your attention as he stomps like a toddler throwing a tantrum.Â
Why did he even come here? Was it just to give himself more reason to brood? Solidify that he's valid in being angry?Â
Connie is trembling as his character makes his way through a decrepit house. Jean laughs every few minutes, but he also startles at every jump scare, leaving Reiner to call both of them pussies as he bites into strawberry after strawberry, throwing the stems into a little bowl in his lap. Mike supposes the first years are entertaining enough. He can see why Erwin invited them here.Â
It's close to nine o'clock. Mike is bored out of his mind, can't help venturing back downstairs mostly because he's tired of watching the pledges swear and shout at the video game (including Reiner now) but also out of morbid curiosity.Â
Marie has returned and is sitting in the kitchen with Maddie, both of whom are glaring into the den where you, Erwin, Nile, and Hitch share the couch. Hitch may as well be in Nile's lap, but you're sitting on the back ridge, feet planted on the cushions as you hunch forward and nurse a beer. Your knee is against Erwin's arm, but that's the only point of contact. Still, whenever something funny is said on the TV show, he looks up at you, as if to check that you're laughing, taking it in. Mike can't blame him. You have one of the cutest laughs he's ever heard.Â
Levi and Gelgar are both on plush loveseats on opposite sides of the room, either scrolling or typing on their phones.Â
Again, Mike has to think about how laid back the party isâeven if he's a mess. It's so different from the raucous scenes he's used toâblasting music and keg stands and dancing on tables. This would be infinitely preferable if it weren't for the open pit in Mike's stomach.Â
If he could just chill the fuck out, pay absolutely no attention to you and Erwin and the way his fingers slowly wrap around your ankle when you won't stop bouncing your leg.Â
 Not together his ass.Â
When Mike gets a text from Rhi, he basically sighs in reliefâthe perfect opportunity to forget about you for a while.Â
He doesn't bother asking to make sure it's okay with the host, just messages back, what are you doing rn? and immediately asks her to come over, knowing she only lives about an hour away.Â
Naturally, she agrees. One of the only great things about Rhi is that sheâs always, always down to fuck. Mike doesnât know if it has something to do with his size or if she just has a high sex drive. Either way, heâs glad for it..Â
He meets her on the porch after waiting for what feels like an eternity, just having to sit and watch you kick Erwinâs thigh whenever he says something dumb. He always retaliates by pulling on your little toes which makes you squeak and almost fall off the couch. Itâs fucking maddening, makes Mike want to pull his hair out or throw something, just trash the fucking house because Erwin deserves it.Â
But, then Rhi arrives in all her Ugg boot glory, wearing the old, green hoodie that you had given back to Mike a few months ago.
They walk in, Mikeâs hands on her shoulders like heâs pushing her over the threshold. You look up, take the other girl in, then very quickly step off the couch and prance into the kitchen without saying a word.
Erwin, however, makes up for your silence, wide eyed as he stares at Rhi and utters, âFuck.â
* You didnât want to be like Maddie and Marie, jogging to a private place to cry over a fucking boy, but god, you are definitely locked in the bathroom, hunched over the sink sobbing as quietly as you can. Your nose is running, and your eyes are burning, leaking god damn rivers
It wouldnât have been so bad if she was just in her normal winter sorority get-up. But the hoodie? The one you wore for months on end, the one Mike would sniff whenever he would lay his head on your stomach, mumbling something about, âSmells good. Might have to take it back.â He didnât have to say it out loud, but you knew he always felt a little jolt of pride when youâd wear it, like you were advertising how close you were to him.
So, to see another girl wearing itâto see Rhi wearing itâit fucking hurts. Your throat is sore from holding back those loud, pained cries. Your stomach is rolling like you ate something spoiled. Your fingers ache from digging into the fancy, granite sink. Everything hurts.Â
It makes you wonder if Mike felt like this when you first told him about Zeke, if he feels like this now that he thinks youâre with Erwinâstupid, stupid, stupid. You shouldnât have waited so long to talk to him. You should have cleared things up right after the party. Now, itâs too late.Â
Thereâs a knock on the door that makes you sniff and wipe your nose, but you still tell whoever is on the other side (most likely Hitch or Erwin), âGo away.â
âItâs me.â Erwin. "Let me in."
"Literally what did I just say?"Â
"If you don't unlock the door, I'll kick it in. It's my house, so I won't get in trouble for it."
"Oh my god," you grumble before turning the lock on the knob. "Spoiled fucking brat."
Erwin steps in and closes the door then takes a good look at your puffy face and red eyes. Sighing, he leans against the wall. "For the record, I didn't invite her. Mike must haveâ"
"That doesn't make me feel any better," you say, grabbing some toilet paper to blow your nose. "Actually, it makes me feel even worse."
"I just wanted to make sure you knew."
"What, d'you want brownie points or something?" You ask sarcastically, making sure the toilet lid is down before sitting on it, bracing your arms on your knees and looking up at Erwin to find him frowning. "Sorry. I'm being a bitch, I know."
He waves it off. "It's understandable. I'm not very happy with him either. The perpetual shitty mood is driving me crazy."
You don't know much about that other than it being entirely your fault, so you apologize, "Yeah, sorry about that."
"If you guys would have just talked it out like adultsâ"
"Well, we didn't, Erwin. And, it seems like it's not even an option any more, soâŠ" you hold your hands out in a clueless fashion, like you're at a loss. "I don't know what you want me to do."
Your voice is thick, straining against the lump in your throat. Vision going blurry again, you shove your palms against your eyes, repeating, no more crying, no more crying, no more crying.Â
"I'm sorry he's doing this to you," Erwin says quietly.Â
You sniffle, almost laugh when you reply, "Not really different from what I did to him. Like," you have to blow your nose again so it doesn't start running, toss the toilet paper into the waste basket next to you. "I don't know if he's trying to get back at me or legitimately moving on, but I can't exactly hold it against him."
"Still," Erwin takes a couple steps toward you. "Pulling this kind of shit is fucked up. He had to have known it would hurt you on some level."
"You don't have to, like, take my side or whatever," you state. "I know we're friends and all, but you don't have to coddle me like this."
"I'm not trying to coddle you. I'm sympathizing. There's a difference."
"Whatever it is, it's unnecessary," you mumble.
"Yeah?" Another step closer so that he's right in front of you. "So, you weren't planning on crying in here for the rest of the night?"Â
"No," you're quick to deny, but your lips quirk upward when you correct, "I was gonna go up to my room and cry in there for the rest of the night."
Erwin shakes his head then pulls you into a strange embrace, pressing your face to his stomach with one hand while the other settles between your shoulder blades.
Your first instinct is to shove him away, but his shirt is soft and smells like detergent, and his stomach is firm and grounding against your cheek, and the knuckles rubbing up and down the top of your spine are warm and soothing.Â
So, you stay in the slightly awkward position, shutting your eyes and trying to relax, but all you can think about is Mike walking in with his hands on Rhi and the way she looked in his hoodie. Is she cuter than you? Does she smell better than you? Does she treat him better than you did?Â
Tears well up in your eyes once again, dampening Erwin's shirt as they slip over your waterline, and before you know it, you're clutching the material covering the small of his back and crying against him.Â
And, he lets youâjust keeps stroking between your shoulders and shushing you with a quiet, "I know, I know. It'll be okay."Â
Erwin is cocky and bold, takes things a little too far sometimes, but, just as you thought last year after he stole that kiss, he is good. Even if he's broken too many hearts to count and completely disregarded people's feelings, he's a good guy. At the very least, he's good to you, and that's what you need at the moment.Â
"What time is it?" You speak into his shirt.Â
 "About eleven thirty."
You hum and turn so that your forehead is resting just above his hips. It could be a suggestive position, butâ
 But nothing.Â
You blink a few times, weighing the situation, everything that unfolded tonightâeverything that's unfolded over the past semester and⊠it would make sense. It's not like you've never thought about it before. You're worked up and need to unwind, need to clear your head, and besides, Mike already believes there's something between you and Erwin, so why not take advantage of that?
Sucking on your bottom lip, you go through a list of pros and cons. The biggest downside is that Mike will be upset with you. He already is, though, so thereâs isnât much to lose on that front. The upside is that you'll be able to forget about him for a while and possibly get an orgasm out of it.Â
"Hey, ErwinâŠ" You're not entirely sure how to bring it up, but it turns out you don't have to.Â
"Don't fucking ask," he huffs. Perceptive bastard.Â
You push away from his stomach and look up at him. "Okay, why, though?"
His head is hanging back, gaze trained on the ceiling as he admits, "Because if you ask, I won't say no, and it'll only make things worse."
Something about that gives you butterflies. That's a good sign, means you might be invested enough to finally let your mind wander from Mike.Â
"Mike already thinks we're fucking, though, so unless you don't actually want to fuck me, I don't see why we shouldn't."
Erwin walks backward until he hits the cabinets. His full lips are pressed into a tight line, and his blue eyes look like a warning. Don't push me.Â
"Do you honestly think you won't walk away from that feeling guilty?" He questions. "We know we aren't sleeping together, that we aren't actually doing anything wrong even if Mike doesn't believe it. But, to actually go through with it?" Erwin lets out a little chuckle and crosses his arms over his chest. "I probably won't feel bad 'cause I'm kind of an asshole, but you? You will feel awful."
"I already feel awful," you remind him as you stand. "I already feel guilty. If you think I could feel any fucking worse than I already do, you might be overestimating myâmyâI don't knowâemotional capacity?"
Moving forward, you nudge Erwin out of the way to get to the sink, splashing cold water on your face to clean it of dried tears. You cup a hand under the faucet, then toss some water into your mouth, swishing, and spitting, and turning back around.Â
Erwin's gaze is dark and not at all subtle when he eyes you up and down.Â
"I might hurt you, you know," he states in a voice that's considerably deeper than before.Â
You raise your eyebrows, unconvinced. "You don't have to worry about me catching feelings, Smith. Relax."
Mouth tugging up on one side, Erwin smirks in a way that makes you squirm where you stand.Â
 "That's not what I meant."
It takes you a moment to decipher what he's trying to say, but you breathe an, "Oh," when you realize, then another as it truly sinks in. "Oh."
That's okay, you want to tell him. I want to be hurt tonight. You only want it if it will hurt. If you confess to that desire, though, Erwin might back outâa disappointment considering the way you're starting to get a little excited.Â
"If I can handle Mike, I can handle you," you say, fully aware that he'll take it as a challenge. If there's one thing you know about men, it's that they thrive off competition.Â
Erwin is no different as he slides in front of you, hands finding your hips and pulling them to his. He's already half hard in his khakis, and you stand on your tip-toes, brushing against him as you do, to tilt your head back and hover just under his mouth as you tease, "Don't tell me you haven't thought about it before."
"You have no idea how often I've thought about itâhow often I think about it."
You nip at his bottom lip, enjoying the way he licks it afterward. "Have you been holding back since we started hanging outâjust the two of us?"Â
His fingers dig into your back, just above the curve of your ass, and you already know there will be small bruises left behind.Â
"Do you want me to paint a picture?" He rumbles, and you nod, pressing a kiss to his throat. "Any time I have you in my room I think about fucking you. On the bed. Over my desk. Up against a wallâŠ" A little gasp makes its way out of him as you bite down on the skin you've been sucking on, and Erwin ruts against you a couple times before continuing, voice a little more strangled than before.Â
"Thought about fucking you downstairs on the couch for the whole frat to see, all spread out, moaning like a porn star. I know what you sound like," he whispers, catching you off guard when he suddenly lifts you to set you on the counter. "I've heard the way you scream for Mike."Â
There's a pang in your chest at the mention of him, but it's gone just as quickly.Â
"And, you'd like it, wouldn't you? Being watched." Erwin trails his lips from your temple to your ear, making you shiver when he speaks into it, "You can pretend all you want, but I know you liked it when I walked in on you and him. You liked being on display."
He isn't wrong. You replay that instance in your head a little more than you probably should.Â
Hearing the fact stated now, though, right to your face has your body heating, arousal flooding you and making warmth pool between your legs.Â
"You can admit it, it's okay. I've known for a while now."
One of his hands moves to the inside of your thigh then further up, fingers dancing over your covered pussy. It's your turn to gasp. You clutch his shoulders and spread your legs despite knowing there's no way you'll be satisfied with this, not when thick denim is separating you from his touch.Â
"Don't get too cocky, Smith." You try to sound confident, but it's hard to when your breath keeps hitching.Â
"Why?" He grazes his teeth over the sensitive space below your ear, and it makes you twitch in his grasp. "I have every reason to be."
He goes on to list every other place he's thought about fucking youâapparently just about every setting you've ever been in with him. Each and every Pike party, the locker room before or after a lacrosse game, his Mustang, Mike's Wrangler.
"That's fucked up," you somehow manage.Â
Erwin shrugs his shoulders, mumbles, "Can't help it," then slots his lips against yours for the first time (or, the first consensual time).Â
You're reminded of Zeke, the way all you did was compare him, only now with Erwin, you have two men who flash through your mind. He's softer than Zeke but just as bold as he cradles your head and slips his tongue into your mouthâtastes sweeter than Mike (probably from the strawberries), but it's not necessarily a good thing. It isn't bad either. It's just Erwin⊠Different.Â
His hair doesn't brush your cheeks like Mike's does. He doesn't have glasses to dig into your skin. Clean shaven, no coarse hairs to tickle against you, and he's smack in the middle in terms of height. You have to crane your neck more than you did with Zeke but less than you had to with Mike.Â
It's all a little jarring, but you feel this was always sort of an inevitability, at least once you started spending time with Erwin one on one. You never would have let this happen if you had stayed with Mikeâif you had actually taken the next step with himâbut that's why you started hanging out with Erwin in the first place.Â
You never noticed the way your back and forth was flirty, mostly just you giving him shit about one thing or another, but apparently others read further into it. And, you've had as good a time as you can. The heartache has put a damper on things, kept Erwin mostly off your radar save for the days you woke up frustrated and desperate, but that's what your vibrator is for.Â
Apparently, while you were busy making sure things stayed friendly between the two of you, Erwin's mind was getting away from him. Every god damn time you hung out, he told you, whether it was at the house or out to lunch, walking with you to classes or out to your car.Â
He did make it a habit of touching you, you can admit, but none of it was inappropriateâa nudge to knock you off balance that would result in you hitting him, a prod in the ribs that would result in you squeaking and hitting him. Sticking a foot out to trip you that would result in youâŠ
Dude obviously likes to be slapped around.Â
There's also the hugs. Up in his room when you feel extra gloomy, he'd wrap his arms around you and sway back and forth. Sometimes he'd sit and pull you with him, turn on a movie and keep a tight hold around your shoulders. There were afternoons you'd walk into his room while he was studying and just pass out in his bed, up too late the night before from worrying and obsessing, in need of a nap before your evening lecture. He'd set an alarm for you, stay up for a while longer before allowing himself to take a break and crawl under the blankets beside toâ
Oh, god, you've been dating Erwin Smith.Â
You have to break away from him to laugh, lightly hitting your head against his chest so that he chuckles and asks, "What?"Â
"Iâ" You look back up at him, shaking your head to yourself. "I can't believe I didn't fucking see it."
 "See what?"Â
 "You and meâ"
"You and I," he corrects, and you shove him.Â
"You and I have just been doing what Mike and I were doing."
"Uh, excuse me," he holds a finger up. "We have not been having endless sex, thank you."
"That's notâ" You roll your eyes. "I'm saying we've been dating without actually dating. Like, I get why everyone thinks we're a thing."
"Oh," Erwin nods, sucking his teeth for a second then adding, "Yeah, I was wondering when you would figure that out."
"Fucker. Did you do it on purpose? Like, just to prove you could?"Â
He frowns, looking genuinely offended. "Christ, what kind of person do you think I am?"Â
"Not twenty minutes ago you confessed to being an asshole."
His face softens when he snickers. "Okay, true. But, no. I'm not trying to manipulate Mike or you for that matter. You've been upset, and you've put up with a lot of shit over the last few months, and I just figured you could use a friend."
Staring up at him, you notice the way his face is turning a little red, and you hold your tongue between your teeth as you smile knowingly.Â
 "You caaare about meee."
 He scoffs and looks away
"Heartbreaker Smith cares about a girl," you tease. "How embarrassing."
"Laugh it up. You would've been miserable without me."
"I mean, yeah, but still. What's it like having a platonic girlfriend?"Â
He tilts his head to the side then reaches forward to squeeze your thighs. "Is it really platonic if we're about to have sex?"Â
 "Absolutely. Hundred percent."
"You're not even a little worried that it'll become a regular thing and you'll fall in love?" The arrogance is both astounding and amusing.Â
Cocking your head, you take a deep breath, expression one of false sympathy as you pat his stomach. "I'm positive. Unfortunately, my heart belongs to another."
Erwin clicks his tongue before moving forward and sliding his hands between the counter and your ass. "I'm a little hurt, honestly. I'm used to fucking a girl and having to hide out for a while afterwardâalways so clingy."
You squint, can't tell if he's being serious or overdramatizing to annoy you.Â
"You know what? Nevermind. I don't even want your little playboy ass anymoreâ"
Naturally, he turns the charm back on right then, getting too close to your face, blue eyes flicking to your lips before he breathes, "Don't lie," and presses a tiny peck to them. "The tough girl act is only believable for so long."
 "Wow, fuck you."
 "That's the idea," he smirks.Â
"Har fucking har. You're so funny."
Erwin pulls you closer to the edge of the counter and grinds his hips against yours then prompts, "Your room or mine?"Â
"Mine," you reply. "I'd rather you have to do the walk of shame later."
"Probably a good idea since you won't be able to once I'm finished with you."
You actually laugh out loud. It would have worked on you a few minutes ago, but all the joking has you a little giggly at this point.Â
Fuck, he is going to make a great distraction.Â
"Okay, calm down. Don't make promises you can't keep."
"Sounds like a challenge to me."
 "Men," you sigh. "So predictable."
After minutes more of unnecessary banter, Erwin finally coaxes you out of the bathroom you've both spent far too much time in. Your face has cleared up, the urge to cry subsiding, though your heart still drops in your chest when you pass behind Mike and Rhi on the couch, green eyes tracking you as you walk up the stairs in front of Erwin.Â
This is not the right way to solve a problem, but it'll probably be fun for a while. It's already fun as Erwin kicks the door closed and walks you back to the bed. He isn't even touching you, just watching you with a hazy blue gaze. He isn't smiling, looks like a predator, and honestly, it's ridiculously attractive.Â
 "Stop making that face."
 "What face?"Â
 "Thatâthatâ"
You run into the bed, wave your arms to keep your balance, but Erwin presses his fingertips to your chest and just barely pushes to knock you back.Â
 "What face, hm?"Â
The hair on your arms and neck is standing on end, anticipation bubbling in your gut as you try to crawl higher on the mattress only for Erwin to grab you by the ankle and tug you back down.Â
 Damn. He's good at this.Â
"Stay," he commands, straightening up to take his shirt off.Â
He's tan and toned, light blonde hair sprinkled over his chest and above the waistband of his pants.Â
You're reminded of the very first Pike party you went to, the first time you slept with Mike (and can't remember), walking downstairs the following morning to find Erwin in the kitchen wearing sweats and drinking his coffee and smirking at you like he could tell the future.Â
 Maddening. He's maddening.Â
You rid yourself of your own top then shimmy out of your jeans. Erwin eyes you hungrily, causing your whole body to tingle. It simultaneously makes you want to cover yourself and spread yourself open for him.Â
"I have been waiting way too fucking long for this," Erwin mumbles, raking fingernails down your torso so that you take in a shuddering breath.Â
"It's been, like, a y-year and a half." Your back arches on its own volition, hips bucking as Erwin scratches over the bones before catching your thong and pulling it down. He kneels at the end of the bed, a familiar scene save for the head of shiny, golden hair.
"A year and a half of having to look but not touch."
"Poor littleâ" you gasp when he parts your folds with his thumbs, staring at your pussy then blowing a stream of air over it.Â
"Do you know how many times I've jacked off to the thought of you? How many times I've slept with other girls while imagining it was you?"Â
You want to make another smartass comment, tease him about being a pervert or in his feelings or something, but you can't find your voice as he licks a long, slow stripe up your slit. You stare at the ceiling, not even blinking as too many signals fire in your brain all at once.Â
Erwin is good with his mouth. Like, stupid good. He has a teasing rhythm, flicks your clit with the tip of his tongue until your muscles are coiled then moves to trace the ring of your entrance, taking his time as you turn from human to puddle.Â
Heâs better at this than Zeke who would purposely graze his teeth over your sensitive little bud a little too hard on purpose, would suck on it until it hurt. He liked when you whimpered for him, liked leaving raised welts on your ribs and back from where heâd scratched. The intermixed pain and pleasure never failed to make you come, but the climb up to that precipice was usually precarious for lack of a better term.
Then, thereâs Mike (because of course there is). His mood usually determined how he would take you, hard and fast before a game or slow and lazy as you both relaxed in his room. One thing always stayed the same no matter his disposition, and itâs that he fucking worshiped your pussyâeven said it on multiple occasions. He would eat you out like a starving man, lapping at your juices like it would quench his thirst. Some days he would overstimulate you to the point of tears, neverending licks lavished over your clit as he pumped thick fingers in and out of your cunt. Other days he would go down on you like it was a fucking hobbyâturn on a movie, spread you out on the foot of his bed, and eat you out while only halfway paying attention to the TV. He could pull multiple orgasms from you that way, letting you come around a finger or two before returning to your pulsing clit. Fuck, you used to make such a mess. Heâd spend minutes trying to lick you clean, but you always ended up in the shower afterward.
You shouldnât be thinking of that right now, though. You should be thinking about Erwinâs clever tongue and the fingertips just barely brushing over sensitive skin. You want them inside of you, want something to clamp down on, but no matter how much you pull his hair or utter a breathy, âPlease,â he keeps the same pace, only moving on when he feels like it.
Heâs doing it on purpose, trying to break you before even getting to the point of fucking you, and if youâre being honest, it just might work. Heâs gonna make you lose your god damn mind tonight. Exactly like you want to.
âFuck, how much p-practice have you had with th-this?â
Erwin laughs, stilling your wriggling by curling his arms around your thighs. âToo much, probably.â
You whine when he continues, but when he starts softly sucking on your clit, youâre surprised at how close you suddenly feel, your legs naturally trying to spread further but remaining immobilized in Erwinâs grip. The threat of not being able to move only intensifies the building sensation in your gut, and soon youâre gasping his name, eyes rolling as you try in vain to buck further into his face.Â
You feel more than hear Erwin groan, a deep vibration that pours over your clit and makes you twitch. He gives you a few more long licks, then pulls back and stands, exposing the way his mouth and chin are covered in a glossy sheen.Â
 âFeel better yet?â He smirks.
You wave a lazy hand, donât want to fluff his ego too much, so you allow him to witness your borderline stoned state while still jeering, âIâll feel better when I have your cock inside me.â
Erwin laughs to himself, mutters, âEager,â then takes his pants off.Â
Pushing yourself up on your elbows, you give his cock a cursory glance and stop. âHold on,â then slide off the bed and to your knees.Â
If youâre gonna fuck Erwin Smith, youâre at least gonna appreciate it.Â
He inhales sharply as you place your hands on his thighs, eyes traveling over his length. Itâs pretty, above average in size, smooth, with a flared tip thatâs currently flushing a dark pink.Â
âI really hate to admit this, but you could be, like, a dick model.â
He chokes on some kind of snort, and you swear his entire chest turns red. âIâthank you?â
âYouâre welcome,â you tell him, promptly taking hold of his cock and guiding it into your mouth.
 âOh, fuck, fuckââ
His skin is soft against your tongue, warm as you take him deeper. His girth stretches your jaw, but youâre still pretty used to the feeling, had to get used to it with Mike because heâs a little bigger thanâ
 Thatâs not important.Â
Erwin breathes through his teeth as he places a hand on the top of your head, and when you look up at him through your eyelashes, he lets out a disbelieving little laugh. That confident fucking tease is nowhere to be found as you swipe your tongue over the tiny hole leaking pre then surge forward, almost pressing your nose to his pelvis as you run the muscle back and forth under the base of his cock.
âShit, let meâlet me lean against the bed,â he says, pulling you off him and chuckling, âGonna make my fucking knees buckle.â
You turn where youâre kneeling, waiting for him to get better stabilized before resuming your efforts to ruin this annoying, charming frat boy who is always put together. You suck and slurp and trigger your gag reflex a couple times. Erwinâs fingers scratch against your scalp like heâs looking for purchase. Heâs careful not to be too brutal as he pushes you down on his cock, raising his hips to meet your rhythm. His head is thrown back, thighs tensing under your hands as his chest rises and falls with short breaths.Â
You have to work up to it, but once you feel loose enough, you press forward and let Erwin slip further into your throat. His voice sounds like honey when he groans a low, âHoooly fuck,â letting his head hang down as he attempts to stare at you with unfocused eyes.Â
âOkay, okay, okay,â he huffs. âKeep going and we wonât get to the main event.â
You pull off of him with a lewd pop then raise to your feet. Your knees are a little sore, but itâs nothing some exercise wonât work out.Â
âWant me to wear a condom?â
âI donât care. Iâm clean and on birth control,â you tell him. âWhat about you?â
âWell, Iâm clean, but I havenât gotten my birth control prescription refilled in a whââ
You flick his chest, and Erwin laughs as he bats you away.Â
âAlright. Up on the bed with you then,â he motions to the mattress. âLay on the edge.â
You do as you're told, spreading your legs for Erwin to stand between, and you bite your lip when you feel him rub the head of his cock between your folds. Youâre still wet with slickâprobably dripped onto the carpet when you were giving him headâwhich makes the glide easier as he teases you.Â
âReady?â He asks, wriggling thick eyebrows until you smile. He doesnât wait for an actual answer before he starts pushing in, pressing your legs to your chest as he slowly seats himself in your cunt.
Youâre making that faceâeyebrows moving toward your hairline as if youâre worried, jaw dropping open as air is pushed from your lungs. Erwin looks focused, licking his lips as he gazes down at the way your pussy stretches around him.Â
He thrusts in and out at a tortuous pace, apparently waiting for you to start trembling around him before he deems you ready to take more. Every one of his movements is measured, slowly pulling out only to push in all at once. The ridge of his cock drags over your g-spot, pressing firmly against it and making you claw at his shoulders.Â
He feels good, satisfying, but heâs not quite as good as Mike who used to hit all your spots without even thinking about itâsomehow making you beg like a whore and sing like a little girl in Sunday school all at the same time.Â
Still, you donât have to lie when Erwin quickens his pace and pants, âFeel good?âÂ
 âFuckâyes, yes, Jesus Christââ
Heâs pulling all manner of crude sounds from your pussy, wet and greedy as it sucks him back in with every rut of his hips. The angle is perfectâhis height paired with the bed on stilts has him hitting your spot every time, and you feel the need to warn him, âIf you keepâkeep fucking me like thisâgodâmâgonna squirt.â
âFuck yes,â he praises, wetting a thumb in his mouth before bringing it down to massage your clit. He only speeds up as your voice rises, body confused like your muscles donât know if they should be flexed or relaxed.Â
You feel that tell-tale burning, that urge that only gets stronger the more Erwin abuses your g-spot and presses against your clit.
 âShit, shit, shitââ
Erwin groans when fluid starts to trickle from you, pushes more and more out of you while quickly swiping two fingers over your clit. The sense of relief is mind-numbing. You canât even be upset that your sheets are gonna be damp whenever you decide to sleep.Â
He doesnât slow down, doesnât lose his rhythm, just sticks his two wet fingers into his mouth and sucks them clean.Â
You see it nowâthe skill, the appeal, why the girls always come back to him. It makes sense. Heâs devastatingly handsome, especially like this, all fucked out and flushed, hair out of place, lips red and swollen from biting them.Â
 Yeah, Erwin is fucking hot.
But, that doesnât mean heâs your type.Â
Pulling out, he flips you onto your stomach, and you have to stand on your tip-toes as you lean over the bed. The burn in your calves disappears almost entirely when he slides into you from behind, pelvis pressing against your ass as he curls over you, cupping your tits and tweaking your hardened nipples as he gifts you with a series of shallow thrusts. It makes you whimper and teeter forward, unable to balance and squirm at the same time. Face suddenly buried in the mattress, your cries are muffled by the blankets. Erwinâs hands travel back to your hips, rocking you back and forth on his slick cock. Heâs getting a little rougher, pressing into you as deeply as he can, and the fact that youâll be sore from this tomorrow gives you a strange sense of satisfaction.Â
Only way to get over someone is to get on top of someone else, right? Or, underneath in your case. Being a little more in control wouldnât be the worst thing, though, soâŠ
 âErwin, Erwin, fuckâLemme ride you.â
There is no hesitation. Erwin slips out of you and throws himself onto the bed, grinning crookedly as he watches you climb over him on unsteady limbs. His patience must have worn out some time ago, because he holds his cock with one hand, using the other to line you up with it, then guides you down his length.Â
You have to sit still for a second, or you would like to, but Erwin is still holding your hips, and he rocks you back and forth in his lap like he knows. He probably does. Heâs probably fucked enough girls to notice exactly when their eyes pop open, when they shudder and break out in goosebumps because that pressure is hitting exactly where it needs to, and yeah, he knows.Â
Finding it in yourself to move again, you lean over Erwin, planting your hands on the pillows by his head, then start bouncing on his cock. He hisses in a dark, appreciative way, eyes and hands immediately drawn to your chest. He sits up enough to suck one of your nipples into his mouth, licking and pinching then doing the same to the other.Â
Heâs so goodâfeels so good, knows just where to touch, the exact place to bite on your neck that makes you melt, but howâhow does he know that? Itâs like he has a sixth sense orâ
Or, he just paid attention to the bruises that Mike used to leave on the sides of your throat. That checks out.Â
Fuck, he used to mark you like he wanted everyone to see, especially that last night. It was almost animalistic, like he had beenâmarking his territory, Zekeâs voice plays in your head. It makes you frown, and you rid yourself of the thought only to replace it with the memory of Mikeâs mouth on your skin, his calloused fingertips trailing down your torso, huge hands wrapping around your legs to pull you against himâ
You whine, glad it sounds like a sound of desperation rather than frustration. You just want to stop thinking about him. Just an hourâif you could go a single fucking hourâ
âHey, look at me,â Erwin commands in a soft voice.Â
You open your eyes, still hovering over him, and expect him to say something, but instead he just reaches up to the back of your head and pulls you into a kiss.Â
Heâs helping move you on top of him, forcing you to take his cock over and over, and like this, so close and breathing him in, you donât even have the room to think about Mike.Â
Both of your bodies are damp with sweat, and Erwinâs hair is a mess, pushed from his flushed face. He bites down on your bottom lip and tugs, only letting go to ask, âWhere do you want me?â
âI donât care,â you groan, legs and arms and pussy growing sore. Youâre not surprised; youâve been going at it for a while now.Â
Erwin licks your lower lip as if to soothe it after biting it, tells you, âOh, donât give me that option. You know where Iâll pick.â
Smiling, you straighten up then move to fit your feet underneath you so you can bounce more freely. âYou can come inside, dude. It feels good to me, too.â
âI really donât know how to respond to being called âdudeâ when Iâm balls deep in a girl.â
You shrug, âSorry not sorry,â then raise and drop yourself, feeling in charge for the first time tonight.Â
 âFuckâshitââ
That feeling is short lived as Erwin goes right back to using you the way he wants. You think for about half a second that heâs finally, really losing himself, but the accuracy of his finger on your clit proves that is not the case. Heâs clearly having a good time, but he isnât at that feral stage that Mike falls into sometimes.
Before you can dwell on it for too long, you hit your peak, moaning Erwinâs name, hips moving uncontrollably as you ride out your orgasm.
Heâs speaking, mumbling praise or pleas or curses, you arenât so sure, but after about another minute of fucking into you relentlessly, Erwin comes, shooting line after line inside of you until heâs spent and twitching.Â
With your two previous partners, this is usually when youâd fall forward and cuddle, catch your breath and enjoy the feeling of being all plugged up.
But, itâs Erwin, huffing and blinking up at the ceiling then finally stating, âThat was a dumb idea.â
It makes you laugh for some reason, probably because you agree.Â
The sex was great. There is a reason girls talk about him on campus, about his sexual prowess or whatever, and if you werenât too busy suffocating in your little pit of heartbreak, thinking about your best friend nonstop, you wouldnât mind fucking Erwin again. And, again and again.
Thatâs not gonna happen, though. The heat of the moment is fading, every mental faculty returning to you, and despite the fact that youâre still seated on his cock, as you look down at him, you feel absolutely no spark.
Heâs ridiculously attractive, pretty fucking brilliant but with a dumb sense of humor, and you love him. You really do. Heâs done a lot for you over the last semester, made it at least somewhat bearable, but⊠This shouldnât have happened.Â
Hopefully, it quelled his curiosity, though.
âI told you it would just make you feel shitty,â he mumbles, but he doesnât look sad. Sympathetic more than anything, resigned that heâs probably going to have to pick up the pieces of another mess.Â
âYeah,â you drawl. âYou were right.â Your joints pop as you stand, towering over Erwin for once and leaking his fucking cum as you hop off the bed.Â
âItâs been known to happen from time to time,â he jokes absentmindedly, wiping a few drops of white off his stomach then reaching for the tissues on the nightstand.Â
You donât feel awkward or out of place, but you have no idea what else to say. The only thing that comes to mind is, âIâm gonna take a shower,â as you walk toward the bathroom.
Erwin moves on the bed, stretching a little before grabbing his pants and leaving you to your devices, but you pause before stepping onto the tile, turn back and pace over to him.
âHey,â you start, and Erwin glances up from the button of his khakis. âThanks.â
He rolls his eyes, a small smile playing at his lips, and once heâs all zipped and buttoned up, he pulls you into a hug.Â
âI would say any time, but we probably shouldnât do this again.â
 âYeah, probably not.â
You breathe into the space under his collarbone, humming as he gently scratches you back, then break away. âAlright, actually gonna shower now.â
Erwin nods, âYou do that,â then slaps your ass as soon as you turn around.Â
You look at him over your shoulder with raised eyebrows, but he just winks and tells you, âI had to. Just once,â which is fair.Â
You run a hot shower, scrub the shit out of your skin, lather your hair with some fancy shampoo then rinse it off. Once you go through your full routine, youâre happy to change into pajamas and slip into the comfortable bed. You donât even mind that the comforter is a little damp in various places.
* You donât stir when the door opens and closes, but you do when the mattress dips. Shifting slightly, you assume itâs just Erwin, falling back into your usual routine by slipping under the covers with you.
As soon as he lays behind you, though, you know it isnât Erwin. You recognize that weight, that warmth, that smell, and you are very awake very quickly.Â
 âM-Mike?â
All he offers is a little, âMm,â to confirm.
You chew on the inside of your cheek, confused and clueless as to what youâre supposed to do.Â
 âAre you drunk again?â
 âNo. Little buzzed.â
Why is he here, then? You want to askâWhat is he doing? Why isnât he with Rhi?
You start to turn to face him but you're stopped when Mike sets a hand on your back. It's oddly firm, keeping you in place as he grunts, "No, don't."
 "What?"Â
"Don't turn around." His voice is hushed and choppy, like he's gritting out every syllable.Â
 "Mike?"
"I have shit I wanna say to you, and I won't be able to if you're lookin' at me."
You have no idea how to respond to that, don't know if this is going to be a positive one-sided conversation where Mike confesses deep feelings while actually sober, or if he'll just unload all the baggage you've given him. Either way, you wish you could see his face. Something about having him laying behind you, close enough to feel his body heat, has you feeling very uneasy.Â
But, you nod, "Okay," trying to put on a brave face that he refuses to look at.Â
For a while, he just breathes. You assume itâs because heâs gathering his thoughts or maybe working up the courage to say something, but the suspense is making you shiver under your blankets. You have that terrible feeling in the pit of your stomach, the mix of anticipation and regret you get on the way up to the first drop of a rollercoaster.Â
âWhy have you been lying to me?â
 And, thereâs that drop.Â
 You swallow. âI havenât been.â
 âBullshit.â
âMike, I havenât been!â You try to turn again, but his large hand is still right in the middle of your back.Â
âDo you think Iâm fucking stupid?â His fingers close around the material of your shirt. You feel it tighten at your chest, making it hard to breatheâharder to breathe. âHow are you gonna tell me that right after sleeping with him?âÂ
You open your mouth to argue, realize you canât make a case for yourself, and when you snap your jaw shut again, the sound of your teeth clacking seems to echo in your head.
Yesterday, you would have been able to talk to him about this and be honest when telling him you werenât fucking his best friend. Now, thoughâŠ
God, that had been such a bad decision. Why hadnât you just listened to Erwin? Why canât you fucking listen to anyone?
âYeah, thatâs what I thought,â Mike mutters. His grip loosens, but you can still feel a light tug at your shirt, the movement of fingers, and you think he might be rubbing over the material heâs still holding. âPretty sure all of us could hear you guys goinâ at it, so⊠Thanks for that.â
You take a deep breath in, squeezing your eyes shut because it sinks in that this is not going to be nice conversation. This isnât going to result in the two of you apologizing and making love confessions to each other.Â
 âI⊠Iâm sorry.â
Now, youâre grateful for not being able to see his face. You wouldnât be able to stand looking at him right now, not when you know his expression will be grimâprobably angry.Â
âI canât really do anything with sorry,â Mike sighs. His hand drops from your back, but you make no move to turn over.Â
Your heart is like a hummingbirdâs, beating frantically in your chest as that ache rises inside of you again, making your throat constrict and your eyes burn.Â
âWhyâd you invite Rhi tonight?â You ask, hoping your sniffle isnât too noticeable.
 âWhy does it matter?â
You suppose it doesnât, but you still want to know, âIs it to get back at me, or is it because youâre actually into her?â
Mike scoffs. âNot that itâs any of your business, but do you think Iâd be in your room at three in the fucking morning if I was into her?â
Itâs probably the closest heâll get to admitting it, but itâs all you need to hear. Heâs been going out of his way to hurt you. At least any pain youâve caused him wasnât intentional. Until tonight, that is, and even then, you didnât fuck Erwin to hurt him; you did it to help yourself.Â
Pressing your tongue to the roof of your mouth, you hold back tears and mumble a thick, âJust wanted to know.â
âWant to make sure Iâm still interested? That Iâll keep waiting for you to fucking realizeââ
âI haveââ You turn over roughly, pinning Mikeâs hand under your ribs as you glare at him, but he manages to put more distance between the two of you when he yanks his arm back and sits up.
âI canât do this anymore,â he tells you, and you think you hear his voice waver for a second. Â
The orange light pouring in from the bathroom is the only way you can tell his eyes are wideâworriedâand it chills all the blood in your body.
 âWh-what dâyou mean?âÂ
âI mean, I canât fucking do this anymore,â he repeats a little louder, drawing it out like itâll help you understand. âI cannot deal with you anymore. I canât keep feeling this way, okay?â
 âMikeâŠâ
âNo,â he stops you, acts like he has something else lined up but bites his tongue and sighs. He sits cross-legged on the bed now, hangs his head as he speaks calmly, âThis semester has fucking sucked. I am angry all the time. I canât focus in class, and I canât play lacrosse without getting in trouble, and I canât fuck anyone else without feeling badâI canât fucking do anything without thinking of you, and Iâmââ he looks at the wall and shakes his head. âIâm exhausted.â
âI am too,â you tell him, voice cracking as that lump in your throat grows and bubbles, pushing hot tears from your eyes that you quickly wipe away. âMike, I am too, so can we justââ
âNo,â he cuts you off again. âWhatever it is youâre about to sayâmove on, pretend it didnât happen, pick up where we left off, whatever⊠the answer is no.â
He seems like he already has his mind made up, came into the room with a plan, and he isnât gonna let you talk him out of it.Â
So, you stay as silent as you can, sniffing and swallowing and letting the comforter catch every teardrop.Â
âI have been⊠Right in front of you this whole time. I made myself completely available for a yearâwas at your beck and fucking call. I wasâI meanâI was good to you, right?â He sounds incredulous, like he can barely believe heâs asking.Â
âYeah,â you manage. âYeah, you were.â
âThen, whyâŠ? Zeke? And, now Erwin?â
âDo you want me to try to explain, or do you just wanna rant for a while?â
Mike glances at you, looks surprised that youâd give him the option.Â
âHonestly, I donât really wanna hear it. Youâve more than proved your point.â
Indignation swirls in your stomach alongside your nausea, and you press, âMy point being?â
 âThat Iâm not good enough.â
Oh, god. No, no, no. You could understand him being angry. Youâre okay with him being angry, itâs fine. But, thisâthis feeling of inferiority? That is so much worse. It makes you sick. This is the last thing youâd ever want Mike to feel. Itâs the last thing he should feel because itâs false. He has no reasonâheâs too good and too kind and too warm. Heâs like⊠Heâs fucking sunshine. He can light up a room, and he doesnât even know it.
âMike, n-no,â your voice breaks, making you sound like a wounded animal. âYou are so, so good. You are more than enough, I promise.â
He snorts in a self-deprecating manner. âThen, whyââ
âBecause Iâm not good enough. I fucked this up. This is my fault, and I can own that as long as you know that there is absolutely noânothing wrong with you,â the last part comes out as a squeak as you try not to hyperventilate and cry the way your body is urging you to. Not yet.Â
Mike nods a few times. You can see his mouth moving from the side like heâs biting his lip or sucking his teeth until he agrees, âYeah,â then adds a quiet, âWhatever you say, babe,â that makes you want to throw up.
Mike scoots to the edge of the bed and stands. You assume heâs about to leave, let you be alone with your thoughts, so when he rounds the corner to get to your side, you sit up a little straighter.Â
Half of his face is illuminated, casting shadows under his eyes, highlighting the bruise on his neck that Rhi probably left, but your gaze is trained on his as he leans down to you. A finger hooks under your chin, and Mike tilts your face at an angle, kissing you so softly that itâs painful.Â
His lips are warm and familiar, everything youâve been craving as they cover yours. Thereâs no tongue, no force, just light pressure as he inhales through his nose.
You know what this is, what heâs doing, but you canât prepare yourself because thereâs still that tiny string of hope youâre grappling for. He just needs a break. You just need to give him space. Thatâs allâ
âI love you,â Mike murmurs. His voice is low and honest and slices you open. âI love you so fucking much it hurts, and I justââ He brushes a thumb over your lower lip as he pulls away, and it takes everything in you not to grab his hand and beg him to stay. âItâs like I hate you too.â
You pull away to wipe your face with the blanket. Thereâs so much you want to say but have no idea how to articulate it, so all you can do is stare at Mike with wide, watery eyes. He⊠hates you. He hates you.Â
Straightening, Mikeâs expression is suddenly nonchalant, like he just flipped a switch in his brain. âIâm not exactly the social butterfly I used to be, but I wanna have fun my last semester of undergradâmake up for the time I lost fucking brooding over you, soââ
âIâll stop going to the Pike house,â you tell him quietly. Itâs easier to make the decision yourself rather than have to hear it from his mouth: Donât come around anymore. I donât want to see you.Â
âCool. And, if you, like, see me on campus or anythingââ
You cough, maybe gag, you canât really tell at this point because wow, this just keeps getting worse.Â
 âI wonât bother you.â
âCool.â He bends to press another much more patronizing kiss to the crown of your head, then starts walking toward the door. âIâm just gonna try to move on, you know? Start fresh. And, you should do the same. Shouldnât be too hard for you.âÂ
You donât watch him leave, just listen for the door to click shut behind him before you crawl out of bed, turn the lights on, and start packing your things.Â
You and Hitch drove together, but you have no doubt that she'll be able to get a ride with Nile, and with that thought, youâre out of the ranch house and on the road just as the first rays of the morning sun start shining over the horizon.
 *
Itâs surprisingly easy for Mike to slip back into his old, obnoxious persona, and the remainder of the school year is spent partying, fucking, and cramming for tests he should have studied for weeks in advance.
But, life is short, and heâs done beating himself up over stupid shit.
Most of his PKA brothers are happy to have him âbackâ, and the pledges get the chance to see this of him, but there are times when Mike catches Erwin or Nile shaking their heads at him. He doesnât mind much. They can both go fuck themselves for all he cares.Â
True to your word, you donât show your face around the house. There were a few weeks after the holiday get-together where Erwin would disappear for a few hours at a time and come back either tired or angry, sometimes a combination of the two.Â
He attempted to bring you up in a conversation a total of one time, right in the middle of a party where Mike had been eyeing up a sorority girl. He brushed his friend off, easily telling Erwin, âDonât fuckinâ talk to me about her,â through the crooked grin he was flashing at the little blond across the room.Â
Erwin didnât bother after that, obviously deeming Mike a lost cause.Â
Mike knows better, though. He isnât lost anymore. In fact, heâs found himself all over again.
Every once in a while, heâll catch a glimpse of you on campus, but whenever that happens, he just turns around and takes a different route to wherever heâs going. He doesnât want to give you any reason to think you can talk to himâdoesnât want to give you the chance.
Heâs spent too much of his time hung up on you, too much time pining and hurting, and that hasnât disappeared entirely. Mike can still clearly remember the way you looked at him the last night the two of you spoke, the way your tears twinkled in the dim light. He remembers how strangled you sounded while speaking, remembers the way your shoulders shook as you fought your emotions, remembers the way your lips trembled against his.Â
It wasnât very satisfying. Mike left the ranch house the following morning sporting a few bruises on the outside thanks to Rhi as well as a few bruises on the inside thanks to you.Â
That entire night had been a clusterfuckâbetween Maddie and Marie storming off to cry then the little stunt he pulled by inviting Rhi, it had been much too dramatic for a gathering of that size. Mike experienced a wide variety of emotions that night, but the one that stands out the most is the searing rage that threatened to burn him from the inside, the red the clouded his vision as soon as he heard you moan Erwinâs name through the wall.Â
Mike had already been toying with the idea of severing all ties with you, but thatâs what pushed him over the edge, watching you put on your little show when Rhi walked in only to turn around and have a grand fucking time with his best friend.Â
It needed to happen. Mike needed to free himself of you. It feels good. Mostly. There are still some days he comes close to giving in, just picking up his phone and calling you, but he resists, and heâs better for it.Â
He gets through his classes, does well on his finals after actually putting in the time to prepare for them, and by the time Mike graduates, heâs already been accepted to the graduate program of his choice and has an internship lined up. The tension between him and Erwin has faded for the most part, which is great since heâs going to grad school in the same area up north. Things look⊠promisingâsomething he didnât think possible without you by his side, something he didnât want to be possible without you by his side.Â
But, now, here he is, unpacking his new apartment with the help of Scout who insists on sniffing absolutely everything. Heâs halfway across the country from his parents, away from all heâs ever known, and Mike couldnât be more thrilled about it.Â
He can go full days without sparing you a thought now, and he hopesâhe praysâthat one day heâll think of you for the last time in his life.Â

applejack headcanons in a sort of timeline i have in my head based on the flashbacks/statements in the show lol this is gonna get long i apologise
aj is born in the sweet apple acres barn to bright mac and pear butter :D
we get the apple family reunion episode flashback where she is lichrally baby asking for apple fritters đ„ș
she grows up a bit, just by family gene pool luck shes a strong little fucker and as she grows her family realises she's not just physically strong but strong willed too, it becomes a running joke that shes secretly part mule with how stubborn she can be :P
bright mac had a dog from when he was younger that he loved with all his heart, big mac loved him too but applejack thought was a grumpy old lump of a beast she just Did Not Like This Animal you know how kids can be lmaooo
applejack and big mac dont really leave the farm all that much, theyre homeschooled by their parents and granny smith so, generally they dont have that many friends their age in their childhood, they say hi and play a bit with fillies and colts they pass while helping out with deliveries, aj and rarity possibly have a few interactions through this but nothing really sticks at this point, they know each others names and thats probably it, the apple siblings are a big hit with usual customer and ponies who sell them things in the market
pear butter teaches aj how to play the guitar and she practices until her hooves hurt, her ma is very proud of her, they like to play duets when they have some alone time :] then, deciding to branch out from that applejack also picks up other instruments like the banjo and the fiddle, they find out she has quite a knack for music! (applejack is only slightly disappointed she doesnt get her cutie mark from it, but unlike applebloom would be in the future, she doesnt mind all that much, after all granny smith always said it'd come with time đ)
not long after little applebloom is born we get the great seedling episode flashback which is a turning point in applejack, a moment like finding out santa or the tooth fairy isnt real, she matures a little bit that day, gains more of the work ethic we see in her as an adult
around this time is when bright mac and pear butter die :( i dont have a concrete headcanon on How they die but the dangerous trade routes the apples have to take to make deliveries may have had something to do with it, or maybe they were trying to protect the farm from something coming from the everfree forest, im not sure
the rest of the apple family make their way to sweet apple acres to give their condolences and help out in any way they can around the farm while our apples grieve :( its sad but it brings aj and big mac closer than they'd ever been
after shes recovered a little from that, i think aj kind of loses herself, i mean how can you not after losing both parents :(( so she decides to leave the farm in the hopes she'll be able to find herself again in manehattan, this is the cutie mark chronicles flashback and where she realises she belongs in ponyville, Runs home and gets her cutiemark
after a little bit, to help her become a little bit more social with foals her age, applejack goes to camp friendship where she meets little coloratura and the two Immediately click, aj gives her new best friend the nickname rara and they're practically inseparable the whole summer, their friendship starts to grow into something more but rara is heading back to manehatten after camp and applejack belongs back in ponyville, so they decide to give a lonb distance relationship a try, they manage to exchange letters back and forth for a long time, ultimately deciding a long distance relationship wasnt gonna work so they mutually decide to break up but still stay pen pals! after a while, the letters stop and they become just a memory in one anothers minds
sweet apple acres eventually returns to a business as usual state, with groups of relatives stopping by the farm now and again to give a helping hoof considering its now run by a late-middle aged lady, two children and a baby lol, applejack, while still doing a lot of tree bucking, is starting to take on a more maternal figure role in applebloom's life as well as being her sister, her and big mac feels more responsible and protective of the foal since she would be growing up with no ma and pa, they sort of took on those roles, applejack more intensely i guess i just see her as having strong maternal instincts embedded in her or something lol, but she for sure isnt "single mom"ing it, with granny smith and other relatives ready to take the little bugger when aj needs to get stuff done :P it takes a village and all that lmao
since at this time aj and big mac are starting to go into town more often and are free to do as they please as long as their chores get done, they start actually interacting more with teens their age in ponyville! applejack starts hanging out with fillies like rarity who she had known in passing but now could finally get to know and the cake's new apprentice and ponyvilles youngest party planner, pinkie pie
after starting to hit some awkward growth spurts as she reaches her teens lol, she starts taking an interest in the business side of the farmwork too, dealings with customers, looking into trade routes stuff like that, this is when the where the apple lies flashback takes place i fuckin love that episode please watch it, and this starts applejack's lifelong promise to never lie ever again which she keeps bc shes a legend as fuck <3
one day aj notices cloudsdale passing through probably to start preparing ponyville for the next season, and she hears a Thud coming from a row or two over from where she's working, she goes over to investigate to find a pegasus filly shaking off what aj can only assume was a crash, she asks if shes alright, n the filly is like of course i am im so tough toughest around actually thanks<3 and aj is internally like hm. this kids kinda annoying. they introduce themselves and applejack finds out rainbow dash is looking for her friend fluttershy, she likes to come down from cloudsdale to play with animals or something, but applejack hasnt seen any yellow pegasi fillies around so the little blue filly says thanks anyway and zips off at what aj can only describe as probably the speed of light, she somehow has a strange feeling this isnt gonna be the last she sees of this kid
she turns out to be right when shes invited to a happy visit to ponyville from cloudsdale party thrown for rainbow and fluttershy, apparently rainbow had bumped into pinkie while asking around ponyville for any idea where fluttershy and of course pinkie Had to make an event out of it once she had helped rainbow find her friend, the party was of course a lot of fun rainbow and aj somehow managed to turn every party game into a competition and despite their first impressions of one another they actually got along really well and gained a good amount of respect for each other, aj eventually found fluttershy sort of hiding away from most of the party and fluttershy actually opened up a little after talking with aj bc of how calming her presence was for her
over the next few years the five got to know each other quite well, anytime cloudsdale passed by rainbow and fluttershy would drop into ponyville to hang out or just say hi, and once they were old enough they moved into their ponyville houses and the five of them became just a regular friend group youd see hanging out on the streets of ponyville, fluttershy helps aj pick out a border collie puppy for help with wrangling critters on the farm (applebloom was getting too old to be sent off to mindlessly run after little animals all the time and she had started going to school so she wasnt around as much lmaoo) and just as a companion for applejack, she names her Winona :]
and then after those few years Twilight shows up! you know the rest from there :P
if i missed anything uhhh whoops<3 lol
#mlp#mlp applejack#tezztalks#mlp headcanons#might make more of these idk tho#block that tag if u dont wanna see em BDNVD#the hc tag i mean

Kintsugi: Imperfectly Perfect (Draco x Reader)
âKintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold â built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art.â
- Tiffany Ayuda
Summary:In which Y/N teaches a broken Draco Malfoy how to mend himself and embrace the scars that haunt him.
Wordcount: 10.3k
Genre: Angst/Fluff; Postwar AU
Warnings: Descriptions of depression; self-degredation; sexual themes but no smut
A/N: Hi! This is my first time writing a postwar AU. I was always afraid of doing so out of fear that I would mistakenly portray Draco, but I guess this can be a rite of passage in a way aha. With that being said, hereâs my attempt! I hope you like it :D Feedback is very much appreciated!!
The sound of an alarm clock breaks the peace that had manifested within the darkness of the room. One eye creaks open, followed by the other, and a body raises itself to greet the day.Â
The boy lifts his sheets gently, allowing the cold air to engulf his skin, to wake him, to pull him into the reality of yet another morning.Â
The pads of his feet are the next to awaken as he hoists himself out of bed, meeting the frigid floor beneath him. He plods across the expanse of space, only to take notice of his reflection in the mirror.
Draco Malfoy, once boisterous, prideful, loud, and arrogant, had been reduced to a shell. One that lived by drifting through the motions of each passing day. It showed through the dark circles apparent under his eyes, the frown that resided on his lips, and his overall gaunt appearance. The thrill that was once characteristic of his youth had spilled through his cracks, leaving him empty and seemingly unrepairable; and no other perspective of his experience could convince him otherwise.Â
The second wizarding war took too much from him so early on. It started with his father, the man he had ardently looked up to, who he desired so much to please. Luciusâs arrest put the young boy on the forefront of the Death Eatersâ activities, placing an unbearable weight on his shoulders. From that point on, it wasnât long until the mischievous smile left him, only to be replaced with panicked eyes, increased stress levels, and absolutely no peace of mind. The boy had his entire life on a tightrope, constantly pulling strings to survive.
The result of such was the immense realization of guilt pooling from the sights of Hogwarts in shambles, the lifeless bodies of those he was once acquainted with, and the shame of literally walking away from it all.Â
Nightmares were also frequent visitors. Besides those that embodied remnants of the war, Draco was almost always confronted by the tauntings of his wrongs: the way he poorly treated others, his stuck-up sense of superiority, the foul slur that he once used so freely--they all haunted him with no end, and all he wanted to do was take everything back. The boy has so often degraded his character since then, describing himself with words such as âworthlessâ, âloathsomeâ, âputridâ--the list goes on. He carried his beating heart as though it was dead weight, wanting so desperately to discard the regret that compounded on itself through the years. He was broken, and had no hope of being fixed.Â
It was also needless to say that the family dynamic had changed for the Malfoyâs; especially since they often stayed within the confines of the property. Narcissa had been diligent in eradicating the place of all things that harbored any signs of Voldemortâs occupation--opening curtains, tending to her garden, changing up the plans for the interior design. Lucius, on the other hand, often occupied himself in his study, simply abiding by the plans for change that his wife had made. He still invested in his social connections, actively making donations to charities and hospitals that had been established as a result of the war. The act helped shed some light on their image, however any interaction that was to be made with the world outside was done through Draco as representative of the family name.
Fortunately, he managed to keep his mind silent in the mornings. As he walked through the vast hallways he would take note of the way light had poured into the manor, admiring the charm that it brought to its nooks and crannies. The quaint atmosphere that was characteristic of these corridors were peaceful, and managed to calm his thoughts albeit temporarily.Â
As soon as he entered the dining room, Narcissa beckoned him to sit with her and his father.Â
âDraco, darling, come have some breakfast.â Without much response, he obeys, taking the spot across from her. She placed his favorites on a platter, and observed him as he nibbled on the food in front of him. After several minutes of silence, she pulled an ivory-colored envelope from the pocket of her robe and slid it to him. With food still mounted on his utensils, the boy glanced at the gold details that embellished its corners.
âWeâve been invited to an art gala hosted by the Ministry. The details are inside.â She said.
âIâll be sure to be in attendance, mother.â He confirmed before resuming his breakfast. The woman casted a worried look at him before turning to Lucius. Things could never go back to the way they once were.
--
The art gala was held on a Saturday evening, and Draco found himself standing in front of a finely decorated building. An air of aristocracy and luxury loomed within the environment--it was an energy that he had been surrounded by all his life. Large columns aligned its front. A red carpet stemming from the entrance had been rolled out, sweeping along a flight of stairs. Familiar faces of esteemed socialites were seen making their way up the steps. Banners had been hung, indicating the gala and a live auction as highlights of the dayâs events.Â
His only job was to engage in civilized conversation, connect with other high-standing figures, and expand the family network. Simply put, he was there to look pretty.
The feeling of dread overcame him at the thought of immersing himself in socialization. With a begrudging sigh, he straightened his back, briefly smoothened out his suit, and adjusted his cufflinks before trudging up the stairs. Eyes tracked his every step. Despite his emotional wellbeing, the boy still managed to clean up well, creating a facade to those around him. He didnât bask in the glory, though. He knew he was handsome, he knew he was wealthy, but looks and money were no longer sufficient enough to help him tend to the emptiness he felt on the inside.
The gala itself didnât begin until 6:00 PM, which was in an hour. Therefore, in hopes to kill time, Draco aimlessly walked through the art displayed for the auction to be held later that night. He carefully observed the numerous crafts with great scrutiny. Paintings were created with much detail--many of them embodying styles from the varying art periods. Sculptures paying great detail to the human body littered the main floor. Hand-crafted furniture were set on display as well, showcasing elaborate ornaments and designs. Mother would like these. He thought. He continued plodding across the exhibit, typically stopping for a mere minute for every submission before walking away.Â
It was when he took sight of a humble set of ceramics that he actually stopped to stare. The collection consisted of bowls and pots ranging from small to medium sizes. However, what caught his attention were the traces of gold that coursed through their shapes. They took the form of cracks, which looked too beautiful, too flawless to be such--he couldnât comprehend them ever being broken at all.
âDo you like them?â A light voice startles him from his thoughts. Standing next to him is a bright-eyed girl whose face he vaguely remembers.
âY/N Y/L/N? What are you doing here?â He dismisses her question and looks at her with disbelief laced through his voice. The girl was in Ravenclaw when they were still in Hogwarts. Due to the difference in houses and friend groups, there was rarely any interaction between them. Nevertheless, heâs heard countless praises for her artistic talent even as a student, therefore reserved a tinge of respect for her reputation.
âDraco Malfoy! Itâs been such a long time!â She beams at him. A breathy laugh escapes him as a polite smile settles on his lips.
âDefinitely has been. Were you eyeing this set as well?â He glanced back at the ceramics, contemplating on bidding for them in the auction. The sight of them evoked a warm, admirable energy within him, as though they called for his presence.
âHeavens, no. I actually made them.â Y/N took notice of the way he glanced at them, and shyly rubbed the back of her neck. The boy turned to her with eyes widened in awe of her brillianceâthe smile of politeness immediately transitioning to one of sincerity.
âYou made these? Theyâre beautiful!â The comment brought heat to her cheeks.Â
âDraco, please. You flatter me so.âÂ
âIâll be taking these home without a doubt.â He reassures her. In the moment that he says so, he immediately takes notice of her appearance. Her hair was slicked into a low bun. Her makeup gave her a pleasant dewy look. Gold accessories accentuates her deep emerald evening gown, which only emphasizes her curves as it flows down her body. He couldnât recall her ever being attractive when they were studentsâshe had always been clad in blue. But, tonight proved that green was definitely her color.
âYou look lovely, by the way.â He complimented as his eyes glossed over her. She bit her lip in response to the butterflies that formed in her stomach.
âYou always had a way with words didnât you, Malfoy?â The melodic laugh that she produced, in turn, caused his heart to skip a beat.
âI admit I was a prat, but Iâm not joking around this time.â The girl let out another giggle before placing her hand on his shoulder and giving it a quick squeeze.Â
âI think you look rather dashing yourself. Unfortunately, though, I have to get going. Iâll see you around?âÂ
âIt would be my pleasure.â Draco watches Y/Nâs figure as she walks away. Before she goes any further, she looks over her shoulder and says, âGood luck with the auction!âÂ
With a small wave and smile, the boy is left in a lighter state.
The gala came and went with Draco thoroughly exhausted from the copious amounts of socialization. Questions regarding connections to his father were asked, business cards were exchanged, and flattery and compliment was a common occurrence amongst these interactions. Nevertheless, the boyâs energy especially drained from the intensity of the auction that occurred towards the end of the night. All the art pieces were valuable and beautiful, however it was only then that he realized that he wasnât the only one drawn to Y/Nâs work. Competition for the highest bid was at an all-time high as number paddles were desperately raised for every price announced. His heart clambered in his chest as the thought of keeping the ceramics seemingly slipped from his grasp.Â
âHighest bid for 80,000 galleons! Do we have any takers?â The auctioneer announces. Draco waits for a second to see that no one has raised their paddles. Within the next, he lifts his own confidently.Â
âWe have a bidder for 80,000 galleons! Do we have any more bidders? No?â At this point, adrenaline coursed through his veins, beads of sweat had formed and fell, and the grip on his paddle tightened, leaving marks on his hand.
The auctioneer proceeds to announce the final countdown, âFinal bid for 80,000 galleons! 1, 2, 3, sold to Draco Malfoy!â Relief overcame him while congratulatory praises were given by those nearby. He catches Y/Nâs gaze from afar, and throws her a wink, signifying the resolution for the chaotic night.
--
As attendees began to file out of the building, the boy waited in the hall to collect his reward, filling out the form that confirmed the amount he had to pay. With his attention drawn to the slip, he fails to notice Y/Nâs presence beside him. She looks over his shoulder, eyes widening at the amount before looking away to suppress the smile that threatens to form on her lips. She never really gave much monetary value to her art before; each one was produced as a product of passion and love. However, the expression that it first brought to Dracoâs face, in addition to the amount of effort he put in to attain them, reassures that her work will be well taken care of. She momentarily stares at his broad shoulders before gaining the courage to speak.
âCongratulations!â She says, startling him once again. He takes a second to collect his breath before looking up at her.
âDo you plan on giving me a heart attack, Y/L/N, or is it in your nature to be overly enthusiastic?â The shameless smirk she has on her face, prompts him to release a chuckle. He stands up straight as soon as he signs the piece of paper, engaging his line of vision with hers.
âThe way you respond is not my fault, Malfoy.â She answers, playfully shoving her index finger towards his shoulder. He grabs her wrist, and the warmth from his hands, accompanied by the flirtatious gleam in his eyes, prompts her to cast the same expression. She shoots him a coy smile before he releases her from his grasp.
âWould you like to accompany me to the front?â He asks.
âThatâd be lovely.â The pair approaches the stage where the volunteers greet them both. They present his items upon confirmation, and proceed to wrap each bowl individually. He lifts one of the unwrapped pieces to his eyes, examining the gold details.
âHowâd you manage to pull this off?â He asks, impressed by her craftsmanship.
âItâs a technique called âkintsugiâ. I learned it while living in Japan for a while after the war,â She says, reaching her hand out for it. He gives it to her.
âYou know, these pieces were never supposed to be auctioned off in this gala,â She explains as she delicately traces the lines, âThey were so damaged. You can even consider them to be broken beyond repair,â Draco observes as she lifts it to her eye level.
âBut obviously, when pieced back togetherâwith all their cracks emphasized by the goldâthey have much more value and beauty,â Y/N gives it back to Draco, and he takes it gingerly.
âHowever, It took a long time for it to come out that way. When you examine the piece before its repair, the first thought in mind would be to discard it. After all, why would anyone bother mending a broken bowl?â She meets his eyes once again.
âThese cracks would typically be considered flaws, but at the end of the process the piece is still wholeâIâm still whole. They mean a lot to me, and helped me heal from the war and all.â Her line of sight drifts towards the end of her statement, yet the boy catches himself appalled by the passion in her voice. He didnât expect her to speak so openly, yet the words that flowed from her mouth touch him in a way he canât comprehend. For once he feels a glimmer of hope budding within. For once, inspiration meets him, and he doesnât want to lose that feeling she effortlessly provided.Â
âIâll make sure to take great care of them.â He says with much sincerity.
He places the piece back onto the table, and turns back to Y/N to see a sweet smile on her lips.
âI have faith you will.â A knowing look is shared between them--one that makes both hearts flutter in longing to see each other again.
âDo you think we can keep in contact? If itâs alright with you that is. Iâd like to become more familiar with this art technique.â
âThe Slytherin prince wants to keep in contact with me? Consider me wooed.â Draco rolls his eyes and chuckles at the old title. Before he could respond, she speaks again with more seriousness, âI donât usually accept visitors in my studio, but Iâll make an exception for you. You can come by sometime, if youâd like.âÂ
A genuine smile appears on his lips for the second time that night. Out of all the individuals he exchanged contacts with, she by far had been his favorite. He ensured to send her an owl to confirm their meeting, hoping to do so some time next week.Â
As they part, she turns back one more time, and calls out to him, âDraco,â The sound of his name perks his head upward
âYou should smile more. Itâs a lovely sight.â Before he could see her face erupt in a blush, she apparates away. With his new belongings in hand and an obvious grin, he too returns to the manor, feeling elated for the first time in a long while.
--
It was nine oâclock by the time Draco apparated home. Narcissa immediately took notice of his change in aura much to her relief.
âHow was the gala, dear?â She asks.
âQuite pleasant this time around, if Iâm being honest. I won these at an auction.â Draco stated as he props the box on top of a table. His mother approaches him, attention drawn to the objects when he reveals the contents inside.
She gasps, âOh my stars, theyâre beautiful.â
She picks one up delicately. The expression she had on her face was very much identical to the one he sported when he came across them the first time.
âI knew youâd like them. The artist was a fellow classmate of mine at Hogwarts.â
âOh? Who is it? I would like to see more from this artist.â
âHer name is Y/N Y/L/N. Quite brilliant she is.â Motherâs instinct told Narcissa that this girl had her son taken aback. She saw it through the pleasant expression that graced his facial features, which contrasted greatly to the gloomy air that usually accompanied him. Furthermore, there was a decadent tone in his voice, a sparkle in his eyes, and a slight smile present when her name rolled off his tongue. She decided to probe a little bit more.
âHouse?â
âRavenclaw.â He responds.
âVery fitting. The craftsmanship in her work is amazing,â The womanâs eyes marveled at the gold.
âHow is she?â She asks. The question catches the boy off guard.
âPardon?â
âHow is she doing? Has she been okay since the war?â
âWe didnât touch upon it too much. Although, she mentioned that creating these has helped her heal.âÂ
âYou mean to say that these were broken at one point?âÂ
âPrecisely. She mended them.â At this point, Narcissa was quite taken by the girl as well.Â
âYou should invite her over one of these days. Iâd love to have a cup of tea with her.â Draco quirked a brow at her.
âYouâre not going to ask about her blood status?âÂ
âI wouldâve known she was a pureblood from her last name, but times are changing arenât they not?â Narcissa flashes a tightlipped smile towards her son, to which he responds with a nod of understanding.
âIâll be going up then. You can keep that one mother. You seem to take a liking to it.â Draco turns on his heel at the end of his statement, carrying the box of ceramic goods under his arm. He wouldnât acknowledge that times are changing. However, tonight has been the only instance he had felt his life shifting âfrom the way he reunited with Y/N, to the way his mother spoke. It was a step forward to redemption, and he felt a little more willing to see where it would go.
The boy sat on his bed, deep in thought. With moonlight shining upon him, he delicately traced the golden lines that streaked the small bowl in his hands. Then with much hesitation, he rolled up his left sleeve and began tracing the blaring curves of the mark that stained his porcelain skin. Its presence resembled shackles that have been chained to his ankles, and the weight of the memories caused him to grimace. However the budding warmth that had seeped within him soothed the negative sensations. Heart palpitations of regret transformed into those of hope. Furthermore, recollection of the girlâs words rang through his mind. It led him to wonder if piecing himself into something better would ever be a viable realityâa dream so tempting to pursue that he brought himself to his desk to start a letter addressed to her.
--
Y/N awoke to a tapping noise on her window. With heavy-lidded eyes, she peeks through her curtains only to be met by an eagle owl. Its wide orbs stared directly at her, and attached to its beak was an envelope. She recalled the conversation she had with a certain platinum-haired boy from the night before, and immediately jolted upward, pushing the window open to let the animal in.
âDo you belong to Draco, love?â It perches itself on her shoulder, and drops the envelope into her hands. A wax seal presents itself with an âMâ, confirming her inquiry. She opens it with much carefulness, and pulls out the letter inside.
Y/L/N,
How does this Thursday sound? 5:00?
DM
The girl chuckled at how straight-to-the-point he was, while her mind flitted back to their school days. She had always felt neutral about him. In contrast to popular belief, she didnât think he was quite bad. Despite the harshness behind his actions, his eyes always maintained an undertone of fear. Upon the revelation that the boy was indeed a death eater, the title itself wasnât what stirred her. Rather, it was the incomprehensible experience that she could merely picture him going through. She was there when he crossed sides. She was no stranger to the distraught look on his face--fear had overtaken him even in that moment. He mightâve been flawed, but it wasnât without reason.
A cry from the owl broke her out of thought. âImpatient are we?â It blinked in response. Not wanting to keep the bird waiting any longer, she pulls out a piece of parchment and begins to write a response to the letter.Â
Y/N inserted the parchment into an envelope, sealed it, and handed it to the owl only after she gave it a treat. As she watched it take flight from her window sill, she contemplated more on the boy. âKintsugiâ the art of broken pieces and precious scars. As thoughts of him lingered, she began to wonder if how he fared ever since the war had drawn to its close. Before she knew it, she carried along with her work, totally occupied with the image of him in mind.
--
Dracoâs heart beat like a drum when he skimmed through the contents of Y/Nâs response. The feeling of nervous excitement erupted within his stomach up until the moment he stood on her doorstep. Besides the instances in which heâd gone out for his parents, it had been a long while since he stepped foot outside for himself. He took sight of the sheet of clouds that blanketed the sky, the small plants that were scattered on her porch, and the movement of the curtain as wind blew through her open window.Â
Mere seconds of waiting were filled with more self-doubt as he tugged on his left sleeve, clenching his forearm soon after. Not much could be guaranteed from this meeting. For all he knew, this mightâve been a one a time thing. However, such thoughts were casted aside once he was greeted with Y/Nâs glowing smile.
âDraco! Itâs so nice to see you!â She stepped aside to let him in, âPlease come in.â
The boy greets her, and looks around her small space. He indulges in the glimpse of her expressive decor--somehow they represented the life that she had built and created for herself over time.Â
âDarling, your jaw is going to fall off,â she chuckled, âCome, the studio is in the back.â The girl gestures at him to follow her, and is met with a small building stationed behind the main house. The image of shelves fills his view upon entering. On them were stacks of cracked ceramicâsome in large pieces, others in small. Towards the far corner of the room was a pottery wheel, and opposite from it was a small gas kiln. In the middle was a table space with various tools, brushes, lacquer, and gold. The room was as neat as it could be, much to Dracoâs surprise.
âThis is me.â Y/N turns around with her arms spread out. She then proceeds to pull a stool out for the boy and urges him to sit. He does so, and she stands in close proximity to him, leaning on the table for support.
âI was actually working on a piece before you came.â The girl points to her current projectâa vase whose cracks have already been bound.
âWhatâs the process like?â He asks
âItâs much longer than you think. I learned how to do it the traditional way in Japan, and I havenât deviated from it ever since.â The boy quirks a brow.
âYou mean to say that there are faster methods?â
âThere are, however itâs the process I appreciate the most I suppose. Mending takes time after all.â Y/N, who had been looking down at her feet, glances up at him to see his brows furrowed inwardly.Â
âDonât you get impatient?â She nods in reminiscence.
âI used to in the past, but all things worth anything take time, right?â They stare at each other for a moment. Draco, who has longed for the feeling of redemption, looked into the pure intent within her eyes. The silence prompts her to slip a small smile at him.Â
âHow about you, Draco Malfoy? How have you been?â There it was: The question that he could never answer (not truthfully anyway). Despite being in the center of all his thoughts, he hadnât developed the courage to face them properly. He was stuck in a routine of living that provided a false sense of security. However, the present brought him to the realization that he had never been secure--not with himself.
âNot as good as what people see at face value.â He said simply.
âI never wouldâve thought. Although, I suppose it just shows that we can never truly judge others, huh?â
âYes, definitely.â He allowed his view on her to linger before speaking again.
âI actually wanted to see the way you worked.â It was her turn to quirk a brow at him.
âAnd whyâs that?â
âTo see the mending process.â Y/N remained silent as she analyzed the longing look in his eyes. His silvery orbs conveyed volumes of a history that was left unspoken.Â
He continued, âI want to believe that broken things can be mended.â The determination in his eyes reminded her of why she began learning kintsugi in the first place. Behind the determination was hope that longed to be born to fruition.Â
âI have one condition,â she said. His eyebrows arched in response.
âYou can watch me, but you have to do some mending yourself.â She stepped away at the end of her statement and reached for something on her shelves. When she came back, she grabbed the boyâs hand, and placed a small bowl in his palm. It was a simple piece--still intact--taking on a warm, grey sheen. He looked at her with confusion, only to be met with seriousness.Â
âKintsugi begins when something breaks, and it focuses more on the beauty of the process rather than the outcome. That being said, it requires a lot of patience and acceptance.â
âIâm not an artist, Y/N. It wonât be perfect.â The girl takes hold of his other hand, and cups it within hers firmly.Â
âIt doesnât have to be, Draco. The process belongs to you. You just have to trust yourself.â She said earnestly with her grip on him tightening. The warmth from her hands emanated through his skin and into his chest. She stood so close now, her head tilted upward to meet the uncertainty on his face. It made him feel vulnerable, but he stared back into her eyes with much resolve. It was an answer as it is.
Y/N gave him a reassuring smile and stepped away from him.
âI want you to drop that bowl. You donât have to smash it, just let it fall.â Draco shifted his glance and looked at the bowl hesitantly. After a couple of seconds, he releases his hold, and allows the piece to slip from his fingers. His eyes were trained on it as it fell through the air, meeting its fate with a shattering sound. The bowl that was once intact was now in pieces on the floor, eliciting a familiar ache within him. It had split into five--a large one, one medium, and three more that were much smaller that comprised the object's rim.
As he bent down to pick up the pieces, a new wave of ambition overcame him. Each chip was picked up with much mindfulness, with responsibility, with purpose. When he stood up again, he began to perceive them as a reflection of himself, and gently placed them on the workbench.
Y/N, who witnessed the entire scene, smiled when Draco turned to face her. Her lips were pulled up gently, sweetly, and it evoked rosy feelings inside him. The boy eyed her as she went back to the shelf.
âHow do you feel?â She asked. Her back was turned to him as she reached for another bowl.Â
âLight.â She smiled at the sound of his response. She returned with a teal-colored bowl in hand. Following his previous actions, she dropped it, allowing the sounds of shatters to fill their ears once more.
âWhat are you doing?â He asks.Â
âYou think Iâm going to make you do this alone?â The girl bends down as she gingerly picks up the chips of ceramic from the floor. She proceeds to clear out the table, leaving only the utensils to be used to start the process.Â
âThe materials I use are already here, but weâll be working only with the lacquer for today.â The two set off to organize their pieces, hearts becoming more aware of one another as time passes on. After everything got sorted out, she demonstrated layering a coat of lacquer to the edges. Draco examined the way the smile instantly left her face, only to be replaced with a focused expression. Her eyebrows lowered, lips in a firm line, sights fixed on the ceramic. He also noticed how languid her fingers were in handling each piece with care.Â
The solemnity of the sight is broken as she parts her lips to speak again, âDid you know that the lacquer is toxic?â He shakes his head when she spares him a glance momentarily before setting her gaze back onto the chips. âItâs toxic when wet, therefore much care needs to be taken when you lay it on the edges.â She then takes the smaller pieces and proceeds to add lacquer on them as well.
âHowever,â She continues, âas it dries, it hardens and mends the bowl perfectly.â She attaches the pieces together, and lifts the bowl carefully to show him. The boy stares at her flawless handiwork--the cracks reveal themselves as mere lines, seemingly invisible to the naked eye.Â
âStrange, right? A substance that was once toxic is used to mend. When it dries it restores the product to perfection, and loses its toxicity.â Draco simply nods. It was a hard concept for the boy to grasp, but her words tickled a corner of his heart. How could something so bad be used to restore something that was once whole into perfection? He gazes at his own project while Y/N sets hers down carefully.
She passes the materials to him, observing as he gingerly takes the brush in hand. He dips it into the pool of lacquer, raising a glob of it up from the bottle.
âYou donât need too much, just enough so that the brush is covered completely.â She reached out to grab his hand, to demonstrate what she had meant. After realizing their closeness, however, she turned a shade of pink and stepped back. Draco tried his best to hold back his smile, but failed miserably.
âIâm s-sorry.â She stammered. He chuckled at her.Â
âNonsense, Iâm all for this form of instruction.â He said teasingly, eliciting a laugh from her.
âDonât mind me, just concentrate.â She ordered. Silence loomed, but smiles remained on their faces. Draco continued his work, emulating the way she coated her edges. He gripped each chip firmly while his eyes trailed the movement of the brush. Each second spent felt like darkness was being extracted from within, leaving him light and solemn. With much caution, he then pressed them together, and watched as the product adopted its once flawless form. With an approving look, Y/N explained the proceeding steps, immediately noticing the relaxed expression that had settled on his features. Deciding to take a break, the two embark to the main house to relax.
âSince we have to wait a while, is there anything you want to do? To eat?â She asked as they entered the room. The question, however, was left unanswered due to the sighting of a familiar looking uniform. Hung on her wall was a Ravenclaw robe. Â
âYou still have it?â He asked, pointing to the article of clothing with his chin. She chuckled and pulled it off itâs hanger.
âYeah. I found it a couple days ago, and thought Iâd try it for old times sake.â She slipped it over her shoulders, pulling the boy through a series of flashbacks from his time in Hogwarts. He recalled passing her by the hallways, getting small glimpses of her sketches, even seeing her vibrant personality shine with her friends.
âYou know, I always thought you looked better in green.â He said approaching her.
âYou think so?â He nodded.
âItâs a shame that we never really talked much. I think we wouldâve been good friends.â She said in response.
âYou think so?âÂ
âWell besides the bullying, yes. I donât think youâre as bad as people portray you to be.âÂ
âYou give me too much credit, Y/L/N.â
âMaybe you deserve a little more credit than you were granted.â This sparked more warmth within the boy. As she ordered food for delivery, Draco took a seat at her table, his gaze locked on her with the robe still propped on her body. His thoughts drifted as he imagined what mightâve happened if he did befriend the girl. How different would he be if he had her for company? How close would he have allowed their friendship to become? His mind began to wander and he ruminated on the what-could-have-beens, most especially the effect that his receiving of the dark mark would have had on her. His fingers flitted to his arm and rubbed the portion of fabric that covered his mark.
Y/N sat across from the boy, immediately noticing his dazed look.
âWhatâs on your mind?â She inquires. The boy broke off from his thoughts and refocused his attention to her.
âJust thinking about the past.â
âWhat of it?â She asked. He looked at her with slight reservation in his eyes.
âHow different things would be if we were friends.â Her thoughts lingered on the possibilities for a while before she abandoned them completely. Only one realization came into mind:
âWell, weâre friends now. Perhaps everything that happened in the past was needed for us to meet like this.â She slid off her robe and propped it back on the hanger.Â
She continued, âWhatever it is, I wouldnât have it any other way. Now belongs to us.âÂ
In that moment, a switch flipped in Dracoâs mind, and he knew those words would stick to him for a long time. Maybe it wasnât a chance at redemption that he yearned for--the conversation he had with her made him realize that the chance had always been presented to him--rather it was company. Genuine company. The one that opened their arms for comfort, the one that offered understanding when he couldnât offer some to himself, the one that provided reassurance that everything was going to be okay.Â
She didnât need to elaborate. Her words conveyed her intent clearly, her eyes blazed with firmness, confidence, and faith in him. The boy closed himself off for way too long out of the fear that heâd be rejected once again. The anxieties that had resulted from the foul glances, derogatory statements, and prematurely formed accusations towards his family locked him away to the only source of comfort that was available to him--himself. How was it possible that he made it through on his own all this time? He barely held on to a thread, and as he crumbled further, so did his grip. And when the grip was no more, he fell into the hollowed body that he was. He allowed his darkness to swallow him, to control him as he mindlessly drifted with each passing day.Â
Until now.
Right now, in the stillness of the room, in the comfort of her dining table, in the presence of her worn out Ravenclaw robe, the thread had reconstructed itself. It presented itself as the small smile that softly graced her lips, the scent of clay that lingered on her hands, and his bowl that sat solemnly streaked with cracks in the workshop behind the main house.Â
âI suppose youâre right.â The boy showed a smile of relief, which prompted the girl to reach out for his hand, giving it a firm squeeze.
âHereâs to our friendship!â
--
There were very few things that Draco cherished in his life: his family and his solitude. As weeks flew by with Y/Nâs company, however, he found that his heart was beginning to create space for her as well. It began subtly with the way he silently observed her actions. She catered to each of her pieces with the same amount of dedication--every detail incorporated with mindfulness, with care, and intention. She exerted a similar effort when it came to guiding him. Every step in the process was taught with much patience. Her soft hands would graze his own in attempts to correct his form, to stabilize his shakiness, and to relieve him of the tension that came with his perfectionistic tendencies.
-flashback-
The sound of Dracoâs uneven breaths made themselves aware in Y/Nâs presence. She had left him alone to tend to his project and herself to her own. Muscle memory led her to scrape off the excess traces of lacquer from the cracks, while the boy fixed his concentration on sanding the surface of his bowl smooth. Scratching noises filled the air, and only became more amplified as minutes ticked onward. It was unfamiliar to the girl--the action itself shouldnât have required much energy. With a brow arched upward, and her gaze directed towards him, the sight of furrowed brows and tense lines fill her view, eliciting a chuckle from her.
âYouâre going to break the bowl at that rate, Draco.â The boy unclenched his jaw and gave Y/N an exasperated look, increasing the volume of her laughter.
âI told you I wonât be perfect.âÂ
âWhat is it that youâre having trouble with?â Y/N asked, as she made her way to his side of the table.
âSome of the excess just wonât budge from its place.â Draco huffed in frustration. She removed the bowl from his grasp, and examined the object. On the other hand, he takes the liberty to step closer to her, his face peering over her shoulder. The heat emanating from his body distracted her, which she responded to by immediately returning her attention to the remnants that resided on its cracks.
âIt helps to focus on one spot at a time,â She grabs the crumpled piece of sandpaper laying on the side, and connects its surface to the porcelain. He watches as she uses minimal yet focused motions to scrub at the excess. Slowly but surely the residue clears out, revealing a clean, crisp line. âSee?â She turns her head to the side only to be met with his in such close proximity. His breath softly brushes against her skin. His silvery orbs dive deep into her y/e/c ones. The pulses of their heartbeats ring through their ears, and the concentration shifts from the demonstration to one another.Â
Itâs the apparent flush staining his skin that has her pulling away.Â
âWhy donât you try?â She nervously asks. Y/N hands the bowl to the boy, and observes as he attempts to emulate her actions. With motions still stiff and choppy, she finally takes his hand into hers.
âRelax, Draco. You need to be patient with it.â With slender fingers wrapped around the back of his palm, she guides his grip with focused and particular motions. The repetition engrains itself into his muscle memory, and he quickly gets the hang of it. He exhibits relief with every remnant removed. In return, she releases her grip and looks at him with a satisfied expression.
âThank you.â He says, and he means it. With perfection constantly being expected of him, the feeling of humility that comes with being a beginner is foreign. He had always been pushed into the limelight--the weight of his family name designates the image of flawlessness, elegance, and poise in all that he did. No room for mistakes. He was required of only the best. So, when he looks at her and gazes at his hands, a genuine smile spreads on his lips.Â
The expectation for perfection may have taunted his past, but the realization of his commitment in giving his best brought out a clear sense of victory despite the imperfect process that had been associated with it.
--
Some days are tougher than others. The nightmares make it difficult to get through the night regardless of how infrequent they became. It always resulted in him waking up, broken into a cold sweat. Goosebumps peppered his skin, the hair behind his neck stood straight, and he would gasp for air. With regret once again overcoming him, a weight forms in his throat--itâs impossible to go to sleep now. Moreover, the fear for the lack of a peaceful slumber keeps him wide awake until sunrise, and there is only one word that shouts at him in the back of his mind.
âMudblood.â
âMudblood.â
âYou filthy mudblood!â
The sayings are coupled with the memory of his back pressed onto the cold, wet, bathroom floor. He could recall the stinging sensations that pricked his body, the sight of blood seeping through the white fabric of his uniform, and the energy that was draining from his spirit. It was the lowest he has ever been--mere moments away from what couldâve been his end. Maybe thatâs what shouldâve happened. There was no one for him to turn to--the warmth of his motherâs arms was so far away, the act of shedding tears was sacrificed to protect his family, and the fact that he was already repulsive in the eyes of others caused his hope to plummet. There wasnât anyone who he could call his true friend--one he could confide in to relieve the burdens he had faced.
But there was Y/N. The erratic heartbeats that rang against his chest subside when he remembered the firmness within her voice as she cheered for their friendship. The sparkle and reassurance that was displayed within her eyes tickled his heart in a way that he hadnât experienced before. The soft touch of her hands reminded him that he wasnât alone. The patience in her voice reminded him that despite all of his shortcomings, there was always hope for change.Â
It was then that heâd pluck himself out of bed, and take hold of the ceramic piece that laid prettily on his desk. With deep breaths, he ran his fingers through its golden streaks, allowing the chilled sensation to calm him down. His eyelids would flutter close, and heâd envision her soft smiles, her chipper personality, and the passion that was expressed through her eyes whenever she worked. Heâd recall the worn-out Ravenclaw robe hanging on the wall of her dining room, and remember that she was there. She believed in him. She had given him a chance. With his mind set to ease and the morning sun illuminating through the fabric of his curtains, Draco picked up his own broken pieces, and binded himself with the faith she had as the lacquer to keep him together.Â
Narcissa and Lucius had noticed subtle changes in the boy. A peaceful light had returned to his silvery eyes, the frown that graced his lips began to fade with time, and the tension that he held in his joints loosened. He treaded the halls with his back upright, his vision trained straight ahead--each step filled with more purpose than the last. They didnât make it known to him, but the sight brought them much joy.
--
It was a cloudy day when Draco returned to Y/Nâs workshop. This time around, however, thereâs much more uncertainty and nervousness within him as he stands in the midst of her working.Â
Earlier that morning, Narcissa mentioned hosting a ball within the manor (something that hasnât been done in forever). Invitations were sent out already, the RSVP list continues to grow, and the property itself has been decorated to exhibit its new grandeur. Of course, he agreed to it--slightly concerned about how theyâd be perceived--but he was more thrown off by his motherâs only request:
âPlease bring Y/N with you, Draco. Iâd like to commission her for a piece.â In his mind that translated into, âI want to meet the girl youâve been constantly visiting.â He knew his mother wasnât against her. He was more worried about how Y/N, herself, would respond.
The familiarity of her focused expression surfaces, and it attracts him much more than it has before. Her hands are nimble, and she moves fluently. Her hair was tied into a low and messy bun with loose strands framing her face. Her appearance now was much different than their first meeting at the gala, yet his mind went back to that night--picturing her beauty in her deep emerald green dress. With his feelings for her more clarified, he feels his heart beat at the thought of her touch, moreover the thought of his touch on her. Would she even return his feelings?Â
âDraco, are you alright? Youâve been staring this way for a while now.â He takes the opportunity to test the waters.
âI needed to ask you something actually.â He goes around and pulls a stool to sit on, meeting the level of her gaze.
âAnd that is?â
âMy mother asked for you,â He said, fumbling with his fingers, âMy family is hosting a ball, and she wants you to come--she wants to meet you.â He notices the way her eyes widen at the sound of his announcement.Â
âIâm sorry. Come again?â Draco released a soft chuckle before reaching into his pocket. He pulls out a decorated envelope with her name printed on the front.
âThis is yours.â She takes it from his grasp gingerly and brushes her fingers on the fine embellishments. Realization hits her when she skims across the familiar letters of her name.
âIâve imagined many things in my life, but they certainly donât come close to this. Wow, imagine being invited to a Malfoy ball.â Her words flowed out with awe, softening his heart. He reaches out, and tucks one of the loose strands behind her ear. The action forces her to look into his eyes.
âSheâs taken quite a liking to your work.â His smile brings out one of her own.
âIâm honored.â She starts to beam, âI should go dress shopping soon.â Her eyes remain transfixed on the information given on the actual invite itself.
âI think youâd look beautiful in anything you decide to wear.â It was meant to be a thought--meant to stay in his head--but it came out, and now the girl felt her face get hot. She covered it with her hands, while the boy just looked up at the ceiling to avoid her gaze.
âYou werenât supposed to hear that.â He says.
âItâs fine.âÂ
âIf itâs fine then why are your hands still covering your face?â
âWhy are you still looking up?â Draco, lowers his chin and pulls her wrists away.
âIâm not anymore.â When the words leave his lips, and his eyes meet hers, he becomes aware of the amount of peace that he attained since meeting her again. In some way, the silence that fills them is overtaken by the messages that their gazes send to one another, both containing gratitude and affection.Â
âSo will you come with me?â He asks.
âDefinitely.â
--
Y/N paced back and forth while many aristocrats stepped into the manor with much poise in their step. She didnât mind formal events when it came to art, however, this case felt entirely foreign to her realm of comfort. She wasnât from a wealthy family nor was she pureblooded either. Surely the end of the war had initiated a shift in change, but the significance of blood status still persisted in some even after. Nevertheless, she made herself present. With much resolve and a false sense of confidence, she stepped into the entrance of the building.
The foyer was bustling with chatter--many attendees stood with glasses of champagne in hand. Still in an awkward stature, the girl takes a look around. The ceilings were decorated with crystal chandeliers. Velvet curtains were pulled to the side, exposing massive windows. Arches, columns, even the walls were covered with ornamental carvings. Every single aspect portrayed luxury. Whenever Draco visited the girl, she discarded his association to wealth and solely focused on him as a person. Because of this, the realization that the boy actually had some coin in his pockets hit her like bricks.Â
Draco, who had kept his eyes locked on the girl, chuckled to himself. She stuck out from the crowd with her eyes widened in awe. Not to mention her attire. Her hair was kept straight down with golden clips holding it tucked behind her ear. Furthermore, she was dressed in a champagne mermaid gown speckled with beads and embroidery, which flourished outwards and into a sheer fabric decorated with similar details. Her neckline plunged into the middle of her abdomen, yet her shoulders remained covered with long sleeves that wrapped themselves fittingly around her wrists. She truly had the tastes of an artist.
He quietly made his way to her as she continued to gawk at the room. âYour jaw is going to drop, darling.â He whispered in her ear. The feeling of large hands planting themselves on her waist caused her to let out a small yelp, pulling her out of her daze. She let out a breath of relief when she turned to see Dracoâs face.Â
âYou scared me.â
âYou were gawking at the walls.â Y/N rolled her eyes, and briefly skimmed him from head to toe. Heart skipping at the way his suit had admiringly framed his shape well. She giggled at the sight of the snake brooch that embellished the collar of his jacket.
âAlways a Slytherin, arenât you Malfoy?â As she brushed her fingers along the details of its design, Draco reached for her hand, and held it by her fingers. She could only stare as he lifted it higher to press his lips on it. Butterflies were felt everywhere.
âAnd a charmer.â She added. They shared a quick laugh before being interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. Standing before them was Narcissa, who beamed at the sight of her son with the girl beside him.
âYou must be Y/N Y/L/N. I admire your work, dear.â The older woman stuck her hand out, which the girl shook firmly.
âThank you so much. Itâs a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Malfoy.â
âPlease, call me Narcissa.â The delight in her voice emitted a welcoming energy, loosening the nerves that Y/N felt early on.
âThank you so much for inviting me, Narcissa.âÂ
âIt was no problem at all, dear. Iâd actually like to speak to you regarding a commission later on tonight. Would that be alright with you?â
âOf course! Iâm honored youâd even considered me.â
âVery well, Iâll leave you two alone now. I hope you enjoy yourselves.â Sweet smiles and gazes were exchanged between the two women. After casting a knowing look to her son, she departs from the pair, disappearing into the crowd.Â
âDraco, Iâll have you know that I canât dance to save my life.â He snickered at her confession, already letting the comfort between them settle in.
âItâs alright. Letâs walk instead.â With arms hooked, Draco begins leading her away from the bustling room and into a secluded hall. Mounted on the walls were paintings of his predecessors. He introduced each patriarchal figure to her, starting with Septimus. Her vision plastered itself to their features, mentally discerning the traits that Draco inherited. After a while of walking and conversation, they finally got to a family portrait. Depicted on it was a younger-looking Lucius and Narcissa, and seated on his motherâs lap was a young Draco himself. Y/N unhooked her arm from his, and approached the painting. She concentrated on the little boy. He had bright eyes, a toothy grin, and flowing platinum locks. His hand gripped firmly on Narcissaâs, and his small legs dangled over her dress. He was the only one smiling in the painting, and it warmed your heart knowing that the artist decided to keep that detail in.
âWhatâs going on in that mind of yours?â He asks, stepping close. He hesitantly snaked his arm around her waist, hoping that she didnât mind. She looked up to him and smiled, stepping even closer to him.Â
âYou were so small.â Draco scowled slightly. However, his heart skipped a beat when he saw the way she looked at the portrait with adoration, allowing his foul expression to fade.
âWell that was painted when I was seven, so itâs no wonder I was small.â His sarcastic remark caused her to roll her eyes again, softly slapping the hand that was planted on her. He glanced at her and squeezed her side tighter, pulling Y/N even closer to his body--his warmth increasing the amount of butterflies that rose in her stomach.
âWhen I walked in earlier, it completely slipped my mind that this was your house. That you grew up here.â
âWhyâs that?â He asks, genuinely interested in her response.
âEverytime you came over, I only saw you as Draco. Not as Draco Malfoy, only son of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, and heir to the Malfoy family name.âÂ
âPlease elaborate.â He commands, his heart now racing.
âYouâre more than the expectations held for you. You came with commitment to learn about a process that you were genuinely interested in. You grew with your mistakes and your frustrations. That experience was you, and you alone.â She couldnât help but reveal that admiration she had for him through her voice.Â
âI thought it was amazing.â She whispered, hoping that he wouldnât hear her. He did, however. In turn, he grabbed her hand and led her further down the hallway and into his room. Y/N stood there confused at his sudden action. Her eyes then begin to widen at the sight of him removing his suit jacket with her mind drifting to rather dirty thoughts.Â
âDraco, what are you-âÂ
âI didnât think it was possible.â Y/N furrowed her brows.
âWhat do you mean?â Draco looked into her eyes, before shifting his gaze to his left sleeve. Her line of sight follows him as he unbuttons his cuff, and rolls the fabric up, revealing his dark mark. She gasps.
âI didnât think it was possible to mend myself.â It didnât take him to say much for her to finally understand that he didnât intend to do anything dirty. It was the opposite of that. He was making himself vulnerable to her.
âBut you showed me how.â He said, completing his statement. Tears brimmed her eyes upon the realization of the reality he had to live. The blaring mark that took away his innocence screamed against his pale skin. It screamed of the pain, of loneliness, and the many many long sleeved shirts he mustâve worn to keep it hidden away.Â
âIf thereâs anyone amazing, itâs you, Y/N.â The tears that had built up fell as she furiously shook her head.
âNo, Draco. Itâs you. Itâs all you.â She took his arm delicately into her hands and pressed her lips on his dark mark. Draco felt his eyes well up in tears, while her own spilled onto his skin. Every kiss that she peppered seemed to paint over his scars, his cracks with gold. The feeling of emptiness dissipated in her presence, only surrounding him with warmth that he had yearned to keep.
âIâm thankful for you.â He whispers. Y/N couldnât hold herself back at that point anymore. She released his arm from her grip, and held his cheeks within her fingertips, wiping the moisture that managed to fall from his silvery orbs. She, then, slowly lifts herself using her tiptoes, and scans his face for a moment before pressing a sweet, short kiss on his lips. It was gentle, much like her. It was patient, much like her. It was filled with faith, hope, and concern--things that she hadnât been able to express to him in words, yet was felt through her kiss. Draco closed his eyes at the sensation. When she parted from him, he cupped her face with his hands, and drew her close once more. A sigh escaped her as she felt all the emotions he managed to keep in. Each press conveyed a level of appreciation that the boy had never thought he was capable of showing.Â
In that moment a memory of a shrill shout fills her mind, and she stops so suddenly.
âWerenât you struck with sectumsempra?â She asks with her brows furrowed towards him. His lack of response confirms her curiosity.Â
âMay I?â Her fingers trail to the top of his shirt as she makes her request. Knowing what it is she wants to see, he nods, prompting her to carefully undo the buttons. Her hands tremble as she makes her way down, revealing the scars that resided on his body. She pushes the fabric over his shoulders, and begins tracing each one--much similar to the way he has done with the golden cracks on her bowl. She slowly lowers herself and starts placing kisses where he has been struck. With her hands gently fastened to his sides, her lips linger in one area before transferring to another. He finds comfort in them--it was as if each sensation reassured that he was loved. As she travels upward, she plants a kiss on his jaw, and a final one on his own. With it she expresses a message dedicated only to him: I believe in you.
They separate and bask in the moment by holding each otherâs gaze. After a while, Draco wraps his arms around her waist, and pulls her into a tight embrace. He nuzzles his nose on the crook of her neck and kisses it, while she runs her hands up and down his bare sides. His left hand then finds its way to her jaw, tilting her face upwards. He proceeds to nip the expanse of her neck, making her head fall back to grant him more access. The hand that was wrapped around her waist travels downwards to her hip, grips it, and presses her body against his.Â
âDraco,â she moans.
âHm?â She doesnât respond. She finds herself completely intoxicated by his lips as he moves from her neck, her sternum, and to her exposed abdomen. Instead, she laced her fingers into his hair and pushed him closer to her skin.Â
The pair was interrupted by the sound of a knock on the door.Â
âYoung master! Are you in there?â It was a houself. Draco presses a finger to his lips, signalling to remain quiet.
âI donât think heâs there, we should check elsewhere.â Light footsteps were heard fading into the distance, eliciting a light laugh between the two. Y/N looks into his eyes once more, and kisses him one last time.
âShould we go?â He responds with a small âyesâ and kisses her forehead. As he buttons his shirt, the girl plods across his room, fascinated with its luxuriousness as she takes in the details. One of them causes her to gasp, however. She walks with her throat choking up at sight of the familiar bowl that was placed on his desk. It was hers. She lifts it gently, recalling their first conversation at the gala. The golden scars remind her heavily of the boy behind her. As she traces them, warm hands rub against her sides before snaking around her waist once more.Â
âDoes this mean youâre my girlfriend now?â Y/N laughs at his question.
âI suppose it does.â She says as she weaves her fingers into his. The boy takes a moment to stare at the bowl ahead.
âWhen you said that Kintsugi helped you heal, I wasnât quite sure to believe you or not. But, going through the process was more than enough to make me understand why.â
âYou truly are amazing Draco Malfoy. I wonât let anyone tell me you arenât.â
âEven if my past is completely flawed?â
âYour past made you into who you are right now. What we have is ânowâ, and ânowâ,â she sets the bowl down and faces him, while her hand caresses his cheek. â...ânowâ belongs to us. Now you are amazingly, wonderfully, imperfectly perfect.â
Epilogue:
The sound of Y/Nâs words rung in his mind as Draco found himself standing in the middle of her workspace. With a firm grasp on the brush handle, he dips the bristles into the gold liquid, allowing the excess to drip back.
He takes a deep breath, and allows the solemnity of the room to fill him. Many thoughts overtake him in the moment, but only one makes itself prominent to him, resilience. After going through the binding process himself, he pridefully lays down the gold over the cracks on his bowl--each one portraying the imperfections of his past.
A/N: Hi! If you made it this far, I want to thank you so much for reading! Thereâs a bit of inaccuracy in the last bit, but besides that I hope I brought much light to the technique in general. I hope you enjoyed!! Feedback is very much appreciated :D

Dream SMP Recap (January 6/2021) - Doomsday II
Doomsday has come once again.
Despite the rallying cry given yesterday, the fighting spirit does not seem to have inspired many today. Everyone is having doubts, everyone is conflicted.Â
Are they doing the right things? Are they picking the right sides?
What are they even fighting for, anyway?
---
(Disclaimer: A lot of these points might not be in exact chronological order since it can be a little difficult to piece together when events happen in different perspectives in relation to one another)
---
- Fundy has snapped. Heâs decided that he doesnât want to side with Tommy. He wants the world to burn. He lets creepers explode the supply chests. If he isnât siding with anyone, might as well make it a good memory.
Nothing Iâve done mattered. Not a single thing...todayâs gonna matter.Â
Today, if I canât make people smile...If I canât make people smile...
I will make them cry.â
- HBomb isnât willing to fight alongside Tommy. He killed Tubboâs dog, after all.
âDream is like the deity on this server...he can do whatever he wants. Why would I go and fight him?â
âWhy should I risk my life, my gear, my resources to help people who donât care about other people?â
Nobody on the server is innocent. So why not just give them chaos? Why not just blow it up again and rebuild it? Last time Lâmanburg was blown up, it united them and brought them back together.
- H speaks to Niki. H says heâs feeling confused, and the only people heâs agreed with are Niki and Ranboo. Niki says sheâll never trust Tommy again. Ranboo says he still wants to fight for Lâmanburg.
âSometimes you have to get louder until they have no choice but to hear you.â
- Fundy and Niki speak. Niki says sheâs excited for people to learn their lesson. They agree with each other, and with Ranboo. Ranboo was right. Eret is with them as well. Ponk arrives at the Fortress and they confront him. He still thinks they can win! With the power of friendship!
- Phil and Techno prepare at their cabin. Dream comes to meet them as well. The plan is that Dream needs Techno to stall for twenty minutes while Dream builds redstone machines in the sky. Techno destroys Tommyâs room with TNT.
- Quackity says his goodbyes, solemn. Heâs already resigned from Lâmanburg and doesnât feel like itâs worth staying. Not for Lâmanburg, not for El Rapids, not for anything. He runs away on his skeleton horse.
âIsnât it crazy how sometimes you work hard to make so many things happen...and it never seems to work? It never seems to work.â
âGoodbye, Lâmanburg. Live long and...it was never meant to be.â
- Tommy wants to say sorry to Tubbo. He and Tubbo sit on the bench together and talk it out.Â
- Quackity realizes that he has Ranbooâs book and starts reading it.Â
- Dream, Techno and Phil run through the Nether.
- Tommy realizes that they need Sapnap as well. Thatâs how it started! With him, Tubbo, and Sapnap against Dream. He remembers the Final Pet War, and how Sapnap ended that war by letting go of Mars.Â
- He goes into the ocean and finds Mars there.Â
- Quackity ponders over Ranbooâs book. It changes his mind. He canât let Dream get away with it.
- Phil, Techno and Dream collect the hounds.
- Tommy and Sapnap speak. Sapnap is at the Community House. Tommy gives Sapnap Mars. Sapnap agrees to help him fight.
- Niki doesnât trust Fundy. She wants Lâmanburg gone, she wants the people to realize that the country isnât what they think it is.
- Niki, Puffy, Jack Manifold, Tubbo and Ranboo all meet at Eretâs Fortress. Niki apologizes to Ranboo about their argument from yesterday.
- Tubbo speaks with Quackity.
- Dream, Techno and Phil have brought the dogs to New Lâmanburg. Theyâve set up a giant obsidian grid across the sky.
- Everyone arrives at New Lâmanburg and the fight breaks out early. Techno starts spawning withers, several of them. HBomb shoots Quackity. Quackity goes to speak with Niki, H and Puffy. Theyâve given up on trying to fight the destruction.
- Tommy and the rest meet in the Camarvan.
- The fight continues. Tommy and the others are trying to kill the withers first before fighting Technoblade.
- Meanwhile, Fundy has come to watch and revel in the chaos and laugh. He starts fighting an invisible wither and successfully kills it, snagging a Nether Star.
- Techno gives Ranboo his Memory Book back and tells him to run. He then fights Sapnap in the crater, pearling out before he dies.
- Bombs start raining from the sky. Techno kills Tubbo.
- Tommy and Tubbo repeatedly die and respawn at the bed. Techno is there. He and Tommy have a confrontation about betrayal. Both of them tell the other that they were betrayed. Tommy says that Technoâs become the tyrant. Techno says that Tommy was only using him as a weapon.
- Tommy and Tubbo speak in the Camarvan. Tubbo is quiet.
âIt seems that history is doomed to repeat itself.â
- Niki burns Lâmantree.
âIt was never meant to be.â
- The Lâmantree is gone. The Camarvan is gone. Everythingâs destroyed. Tommy, Tubbo and Quackity speak, defeated.
- Techno, Fundy, Eret, Ranboo, Jack Manifold, Ponk, Puffy, HBomb and Phil speak after the fightingâs cooled down.Â
- Dream is pleased with the results.
- Tommy and Tubbo see Dream on the obsidian grid. They go up to have a talk with Dream. Dream says that Lâmanburgâs story is done, but Tommyâs is not.
âIn all destruction...there is a new beginning...beautiful, you know? The unfinished symphony, right?â
âCouldnât you have just burned the discs? Couldnât you have just done it...to me?â
- Ghostbur talks with them. They tell him itâs all gone. Lâmanburgâs finished. Ghostbur is heartbroken about Friendâs death and is in disbelief that Techno and Phil would do this.
- Tommy says that Technoâs only climbed the social ladder. All of this is just politics, not friendship.Â
- Ghostbur leads them all in singing the Anthem one last time.Â
- Ghostbur questions Phil why he would do such a thing? He went from slaying the person who exploded Lâmanburg to being the one to destroy it himself. Phil explains that he didnât want to see government corrupting people again.
âI sowed the seeds of peace, yet Iâm the one that pays for war.â
âIâm sorry. Maybe youâll understand one day.â
- Tommy gets struck by LIGHTNING. Wow.
- Ghostbur says he doesnât want to be dead anymore. And he knows the only person who can bring him back may be Dream.
- Tommy decides to play âChirpâ for them all at the bench. He then says that what he needs to do now is get back the discs, then kill Dream.Â
- Fundy snaps at Ghostbur, Quackity and Jack Manifold, still insisting that they donât understand.
- Ghostbur walks down the path with Quackity and they then talk with Eret. Ghostbur wants to âdieâ as a ghost and be resurrected. Quackity leaves to collect things and Ghostbur and Eret meet up with Badboyhalo at the crater to discuss the possibility of resurrection. Eret says that if they can bring him back...Fundy can have a father again.
- Quackity doesnât think theyâre ever going to get through to Dream with violence. Heâs always one step ahead. The only way to get through to him is through diplomacy.
- He brings Boner to Tommyâs summer home.
People are looking at this from the wrong way...itâs gonna keep happening. Explosions, death, bloodshed...even Tommy, following those stupid discs. He said it right to his face -- âyouâre too fun.â Youâre too fun! So why are we still letting it happen, is my question? I need to talk to Ranboo soon. Heâs on the same page as me.â
- Quackity and Jack Manifold talk.Â
- Jackâs land has gone mostly untouched, and he says he fought for no real reason. He doesnât want to side with Tommy nor Dream, theyâre both evil and have wronged him. But if Quackity has a plan, heâs willing to listen. The people he is with are Niki and Antfrost, and perhaps Tubbo.
- Techno and Phil return to their home, but eventually go to rescue the remaining dogs from the main SMP land.
- Ranboo is off on his own. He doesnât want to remember the events of today. He returns to his bunker and almost burns the Memory Book, but canât bring himself to.
- Ghostbur and the others speak with Phil, the person who was responsible for Wilburâs death. Phil says he still has the same sword that killed Wilbur, and has been reading up on texts about resurrection. They decide to pick out a date to attempt it: the 10th.
- Phil calls Ranboo and asks how heâs doing. Ranboo comes to the Arctic and Phil shows him the Stasis Chamber and offers to build Ranboo a home there. Phil still doesnât forgive Dream for what he did to Tommy, but they had a common goal and it was a business partnership.
- Ranboo now has a place to stay and thinks he should continue to be with Techno and Phil. He wants to apologize with Fundy. He doesnât think heâll end up working with Quackity.
The one remainder is, as it always is, is the Pokimane statue.
POKIMANE NEVER DIES!

give me the night
banner done by the fabbbbulooouss emotional support bud @chwepenâ
summary; minghao has long stopped clinging to the love you and him created years before. when he sees you however, new seeds are already sown. paring; photographer!minghao x student!reader (f) genre/warnings; exes to lovers, hurt/comfort, fluff bc this couple is so shy nâsensitive, feelings of longing, pining, casual alcohol consumption w/c; 1.2k prompt; âiâll meet you halfway.â a/n; for the cwcâs valentineâs gram event! this is for you yunn @starboywooâ i hope u have a wonderful lovable weekend enjoy!! đ€Â đ€Â đ€Â
Heâs a sensitive soul. Junhui makes a point to always poke and prod at Minghaoâs soft heart, calling him gummy and doughy and full of love.Â
Maltaâs pretty. Itâs muted, but delightfully charming. It doesnât have the obvious romantic appeal that Paris or Rome has, but itâs still beautiful. Itâs obvious due to Minghaoâs constant clicks of his phone, his starry eyed expression when he sees the strung up lights at the pier, and the bounce in his soles when he stumbles upon road after narrow road of clunky cobblestone paths.Â
âShe goes to school here, right?âÂ
Junhui is walking backwards, hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. Heâs smirking at Minghao, knowing how testy he gets whenever youâre brought up. Itâll only take one push for Junhui to stumble, Minghao muses. Then, he can go back to the townhouse theyâve rented and sketch, or watch television, anything other than drinking.Â
Mingyu has been waiting, pregaming and trying his luck with the pretty girls seated at the table opposite him.Â
Itâs then Minghao chokes on his saliva and realizes that youâre seated in the very middle, unbeknownst to Mingyuâs apparent ogling.Â
Junhui immediately swivels Mingyu to his attention, forces Minghao and a seat, and orders a round for them in the matter of a minute. Junhui has a mission tonight, and itâs to not warble around and carry a broken heart (or two) home.Â
The tiny table youâre pressed up against is cramped to the brim, and youâre surrounded by a hearty group of friends. Your jewelry sparkles against the little tea candles in the centerpiece, cheering with a shot glass to some random thing a boy is shouting. The liquid spills across your bracelet, but you still drink eagerly. Youâre beautiful, more beautiful than what the social media and his memory could remind him.Â
You left your home country for this prestigious study abroad program in the beginning of college, evidently ending your love story with your highschool sweetheart. Minghaoâs over it, he really is. If anything thatâs lingering in his heart, itâs the memories of having so much fun, so much love between each other. You two are far different now, and neither of you would be able to go back to that fleeting youth.Â
Honestly, Malta is one stop out of many for his spring break. He thought his two days here would be over in a wink, and he could move onto the other niche destinations Mingyu and Junhui planned.
Minghao underestimated the fact that Maltaâs tiny, and youâre at the heart of it.Â
Just as fast as youâre there though, youâre getting ready to leave. The night is still young, yet you stumble to your feet like youâve been out all evening. Your friends tell you to get a cab, saying it isnât safe to walk home alone.Â
âIâm not walking home alone, a friend is here,â Minghao hears you say, and he wonders if someoneâs waiting outside for you. Someone tall, handsome, potentially his replacement. It makes Minghao sink into his beverage, swallowing away his unwarranted jealousy.Â
Yet you come to his table with confidence, holding out a hand to him.Â
âTake me home?â you pose this as a question, yet the flicker in your eyes betrays your need for his immediate acceptance.Â
Everyoneâs looking at him, he thinks absently. He can hear your friends whispering and giggling to themselves, while Mingyu is audibly drooling next to him. Junhui is reaching for you, clawing across his lap to invite you for one more round before you head off.Â
âCome for breakfast, Junnie,â you placate, tugging Minghao by the sleeve of his hoodie before he can catch his breath, âwe should leave now,â you say, waving politely at Mingyu. You have no clue who he is because Minghao befriended him later in college, but from Minghaoâs peripheral vision your eyes are pointed in minor affliction. He knows that look too well, like you have the urge to close his jaw and put him in his place.Â
âSure,â Minghao follows you out of the tiny bar, and he subconsciously inhales at the sight of the full moon and the hint of fresh air.
His steps slow once he makes it outside, the heat feeling like honey as he trudges half a step behind you. His eyes linger from your casual spring dress, to the kitten heels that buckle at your ankles. The cobblestone is uneven, but you walk through it like a seasoned exchange student. He doesnât know where youâre going exactly, but wherever you end up heâll follow.Â
âYou didnât come over to say hi to me,â you say shyly, your hands fisting in your marigold clutch.Â
He canât help but smile at your sudden meekness, knowing that confrontation, especially one where thereâs only two parties, makes you nervous. Especially so, considering you made such a grand gesture of attention and now that youâve gotten it, you're overwhelmed.Â
"You looked too pretty, I was intimidated," Minghao replies honestly, and his heart perks up hopefully at the heated flush that spreads across your face.Â
The two of you talk into the night, throwing back and forth each other's new lives. Your muses have changed, your happiness is dependent on your dreams, all as it should be.Â
Minghao thought he would run out of things to say, as he is the one who stayed home all these years. Yet, you ask eagerly about his studies, the amazing places heâs seeing and the work heâs proud of. You ask about the concrete city you canât help but miss. He then asks about the limestone that encapsulates your world. The new kind of love that youâve been craving, a love for yourself and the investments youâve made in your successes.Â
Itâs different. It isnât quick or to the point like your relationship once was. This one grows, a seed buried in the night sky. This one is a new relationship waiting to be tended.Â
The walk home went fast. Even though you two stopped for gelato and admired the passing ships, the journey felt too short to Minghao. You live in a boarding house with other foriegn exchange students, a nondescript townhouse thatâs warm and soft and oh-so perfect for you.Â
"Thanks for taking me home," you murmur, in fear of your neighbors overhearing you, "even though I kinda didn't give you any choice in the matter."Â
"Always," Minghao shakes his head, unable to think of a scenario in which he'd ever say no to you, "I'll always meet you halfway."Â
He canât bear to look into your eyes anymore. They still glow like before, a sparkle that reminds him of city lights and now, the lit-path down a cobblestone road.Â
Before he can second guess the signs he turns to leave, but your figure curls around him like a warm blanket on a Sunday morning. Your nails curl into the soft cotton of his heathered hoodie, clutching him like he'll evaporate on the spot. Your cheek nuzzles fondly into his back, and he instinctively relaxes into your touch.Â
"Stay the night," you request, already pulling him back into your room.Â
As always, he can never say no to you.Â

Rewriting Cobra Kai Season 2 to eliminate the love triangles
There's a lot to love about Cobra Kai. But I have to admit season 2 is a bit of a weak season. And one of the areas that I view as a weak point is with the teen romance and love triangles.
Love triangles are one of the cheapest sources of conflict, given that you're either pitting two girls against each other in a competition for a guy's love, or two guys against each other for a girl's love. We see both of those in season 2 with Robby/Sam/Miguel and Sam/Miguel/Tory.
Obviously, the pairings for the season of Sam/Robby and Miguel/Tory were rebounds because it's typical in a show like this to break up an endgame couple early, then have them get back together later. Thing is, the rivalries of Sam and Tory, and Miguel and Robby, already have a lot of meat for them that doesn't hinge on the relationships.
With Sam and Tory, it's kinda ridiculous that the whole rivalry is basically over Miguel's heart when it could've been about so much more. It could've been built more upon the wrong perceptions that they had of each other from their first encounter at the beach club in 2x04: Sam viewing Tory as a thief, and Tory viewing Sam as a privileged rival who's never had to deal with hardship.
With Robby and Miguel, the show focuses a lot on how Miguel views Robby as a rival in their affections for Sam, but not really about another source to their rivalry: Johnny. It would've been interesting if the rivalry was built around Robby's resentment towards Miguel for getting Johnny's attention and affection, and in turn for Miguel to feel conflicted about his anger towards Robby because he's aware about Robby being Johnny's son.
There's also the fact that I don't think Sam/Robby and Miguel/Tory really have chemistry compared to Sam/Miguel and Robby/Tory. Sam and Robby have more sibling vibes than romantic ones. In the case of Miguel and Tory, Tory pursued Miguel and he went along with it because she was offering herself as a rebound girl, and the whole thing felt like a temporary relationship to tide him over before he got back together with Sam (and he was a pretty bad boyfriend to her in turn).
So my solution to the mess is to, well...to fix the problem, you have to go back into season 1 and not have Sam break up with Miguel at the tournament. Keep Sam and Miguel in a relationship for the duration of season 2, while having Tory get together with Robby in season 2. Here's how that would go.
SEASON 1
Episode 9:
In this episode, Sam returned home, planning to come clean to her dad about Miguel (and prepared to take the risk of him not approving of the relationship because Miguel is in Cobra Kai), only for her mom to confront her about the hit and run and ground her. Because her phone was confiscated, she can't reach out to Miguel, who is becoming paranoid in light of Johnny's biased stories to him about Daniel and seeing Sam being friendly with Robby. He gets drunk, and tries to take a swing at Robby when he brings Sam over so she can explain the situation, accidentally hitting Sam. Subsequently, they break up after he refuses to apologize for resorting to violence on Robby, and she leaves the tournament early, unable to bear what Miguel's turned into under the Cobra Kai teachings, while Miguel fights dirty against Robby in the finals and wins.
The change:
Sam returns home, planning to come clean to her dad about Miguel. Her mom confronts her about the hit-and-run...but she isn't quick to ground Sam. First, Amanda asks Sam for her side of the story about the hit-and-run. This, I think, is a very necessary change because, in the canon episode, Amanda's a bit of a hypocrite here. She's rushing to judgment based solely on Johnny's word without hearing Sam's side of the events or considering the possibility that Johnny's being biased, something that she had chided Daniel for doing earlier (regarding Johnny bringing to his attention what Kyler and his gang had been doing to Miguel).
So Sam explains what happened: Yasmine was texting while driving and they collided with a car that was parked illegally in the street outside the All-Valley Sports Arena. They were prepared to get out and leave contact information when a drunk Johnny began banging on the backseat window, making them drive off out of fear for their safety.
While Sam has told her side of things, she's still grounded for not coming clean sooner. But before Amanda can confiscate Sam's phone, Sam brings up that she has plans to see Miguel that night and he'll be worried sick if he can't contact her. She comes clean to her mom about how, "You know about that viral video of the kid who beat up Kyler and his crew in the cafeteria a few months back? Well, I've been dating that kid for the last few months." And she explains everything: his name is Miguel Diaz, and he's a student at Cobra Kai, and she was planning on telling Daniel about all this.
Of course, Amanda is aware Daniel will probably not take the news that their daughter is dating a Cobra Kai well, given Daniel's personal beef with Cobra Kai (what with getting Armand Zakarian to jack up the rent on the strip mall, and Louie hiring his biker buddies to destroy Johnny's car as retaliation for the billboard penis), and how he's not above intruding on his daughter's social life (given what happened with Kyler). But Sam insists Miguel's a good person, and that if Amanda gets to know Miguel through and through, then she can help Sam stand up to Daniel when Daniel inevitably blows up. More importantly, her best friend Aisha's in Cobra Kai, and can also vouch for Miguel's character. Amanda agrees to Sam's idea, and lets her call Miguel to invite him over.
So Miguel abandons the Cobra Kais' party and comes over to the LaRussos' house. He's already feeling jealous and insecure, because he knows Sam is hiding their relationship from Daniel, and the previous day, he went to her house uninvited and saw her laughing and talking to Robby. This was right after he'd heard Johnny's biased story about Daniel "stealing" Ali from him. So when Amanda lets Miguel in, he's a bit on edge, but Amanda mistakes it as him just being nervous at him coming over to his girlfriend's fancy house. Nonetheless, she's quickly won over by Miguel's personality, and when she asks him about "Why did you take up karate?" determines that he's the real deal, especially when he mentions how he took up karate to defend himself from bullies (much like Daniel did).
But things change when Robby arrives at the house for a training session with Daniel. Robby and Miguel recognize each other, and immediately Miguel's insecurities come to his head. He tries to attack Robby, but Sam steps between them, calms Miguel down, and explains that whatever Miguel saw, it's not what it looks like. Robby's just a friend and a teen working for the LaRussos' dealership who is also being trained by Daniel in the art of Miyagi-Do. Miguel listens to her, accepts what she's saying, and relaxes, no longer seeing Robby as a threat to his affections for Sam. However, Sam also notices the disdainful look Robby showed the moment he saw Miguel, but can't figure out why as she nor her parents are aware that Robby is Johnny's son.
When Johnny and Daniel return home from their day out, they agree to a "Rocky III-style" match in Daniel's dojo, but find Robby there waiting, and also find Sam with Miguel and Amanda. Things get heated, the altercation where Daniel's trophy gets broken happens, and ultimately everyone blows up at each other:
Daniel is mad over the fact that his daughter is dating a Cobra Kai boy and about the whole fact that Robby is Johnny's son.
Johnny's mad at Daniel because Daniel is training his son. He is also offended by the fact that Daniel is mad about Miguel being in Cobra Kai, causing him to get defensive of Miguel.
In Johnny's rush to defend Miguel, he only succeeds in angering Robby, who's now mad at him for showing his favoritism for Miguel. Robby is also mad at Miguel for the fact that Sam is already taken.
Miguel is mad at Daniel for not approving of him, and mad at Johnny for escalating the situation.
Sam is mad at her dad for not reacting well to Miguel, and mad at Miguel and Robby for letting there be bad blood between them.
Amanda is mad at Johnny for terrorizing Sam, and also mad at Daniel for flipping out at Miguel.
So the whole thing ends with Johnny driving away angrily with Miguel, Daniel banishing Robby from the house and the dealership, Sam storming off to her bedroom in tears, and Daniel also being banished to the couch by Amanda.
Episode 10:
At the LaRusso house, everyone broods over the events of the previous night. Amanda puts Daniel in his place and calls him out on his behavior towards Robby and Miguel, with her saying "You really want Sam to shut you out again?" He apologizes to Sam and Amanda for losing it, and reluctantly agrees to sit down and get to know Miguel after the tournament.
Everything at the tournament is the same up until the conversation Sam has with Miguel right before the finals. She apologizes for her dad's behavior, and tells him that her dad wants to get to know him. Miguel accepts her apology, thanks her, and agrees that they'll talk after the tournament.
Subsequently, Sam stays for the finals rather than go home early. Miguel doesn't threaten to hurt Robby, and wanting to make the best impression for Daniel, he chooses to fight cleanly rather than exploit Robby's injury, an act that baffles Miguel's fellow Cobra Kai students. Even though the match ties at 2-2, Robby's injury puts him at too much of a disadvantage, and Miguel earns the winning point not by attacking Robby's shoulder, but by using the Crane Kick (to which he subsequently gives Daniel a bow of respect).
Subsequently, Sam is among those who run over to him, gives him an approving hug, and then goes over to check on Robby and Johnny. Meanwhile, Sam goes with Miguel to the victory celebration at Applebee's. And afterwards, he goes with her to her house for a sparring session of their own.
On the drive home, Robby is sullen about his second place finish, but Daniel assures him that he is as much of a winner as Miguel. Robby expresses concern that Cobra Kai is going to become the premier dojo in the Valley, but Daniel--bitter over Johnny's behavior towards his daughter, and Hawk's behavior in the semi-finals--replies, "Over my dead body", taking Robby to Mr. Miyagi's old house which he plans to convert into a full on dojo for Miyagi-Do.
The next day, Miguel comes over to the LaRussos' for dinner. He is hesitant, since besides what he's seen of Daniel, the only other things he knows about Daniel are from the biased narrative that Johnny gave him about what happened in 1984, and the way Daniel flipped out at seeing him. Daniel apologizes for his behavior the other day, but explains that the name Cobra Kai just brings up lots of bad memories with him. So we get the car scene from season 3 episode 9 where Daniel fills in the gaps about what Johnny didn't tell Miguel, and to further clarify why he doesn't trust Cobra Kai and Johnny, also brings up what happened when he was manipulated by Terry Silver and Mike Barnes. At the end of it, Daniel decides that he's okay with Miguel dating Sam, but this hasn't done anything to cool the blood between him and Johnny because of Hawk injuring Robby and Johnny's own actions with the hit-and-run.
SEASON 2:
Episodes 1 and 2:
So for season 2, Miguel's arc is about him being torn between Cobra Kai and his loyalty to Johnny, and his relationship with Sam and the new respect Daniel has for him. Sam and Miguel are still dating. Robby still doesn't like that Sam is with Miguel, and still dislikes Miguel because of Johnny's favoritism for him, but decides to stay friends with Sam after she convinces Daniel to take Robby in. Robby also tries to be civil to Miguel for Daniel's and Sam's sake. But with Miguel spending so much time with Sam and being practically a fixture at the LaRusso house, it's hard for Robby not to grow envious of him given all that other baggage.
Episode 3:
The season is mostly the same, up until episode 3 at Valley Fest. In canon, Daniel is having a hard time finding new students, who are put off by his chore-based training methods. To help get exposure, Daniel decides to hold a solemn karate demonstration with Sam and Robby at the upcoming Valley Fest fair. In canon, when Johnny hears about this, Cobra Kai interrupt them with a much more flashy demonstration of their own set to "Back in the Game" by Airbourne, winning over the crowd and stealing the spotlight from Miyagi-Do as Daniel and his students look on with contempt.
In this timeline, however, Valley Fest puts Miguel's loyalties to question. If nothing changes, and Cobra Kai hijacks the demo as happens in canon, Sam is mad at Miguel for raining on Miyagi-Do's parade and not telling her about it in advance. So Miguel, not wanting to jeopardize his relationship with Sam, or at the minimum interested in softening the blow, either gives Sam an advance tip-off and preemptive apology, or better yet, convinces Johnny to wait until Miyagi-Do has finished before they do their show (risking being called a pussy by Johnny). Sam still has some bitter feelings towards Cobra Kai for putting on a demo that overshadowed Miyagi-Do's, though accepts Miguel's apology about the matter, as happens in canon when she argues with Aisha about this at the beach club and they decide it's not worth fighting over.
Episode 4:
Episode 4 is where Sam's rivalry with Tory begins in canon. Daniel takes Robby and Sam to a beach club, where his attempts to promote Miyagi-Do to local parents are overshadowed by Cobra Kai's display at Valley Fest, with Aisha's mother praising the difference that Cobra Kai has made in her daughter's life. Meanwhile, Sam tries to make up with Aisha, who is upset about the slight against Cobra Kai in Danielâs ad, but ends up in a quarrel with Tory, whom she accuses of stealing her mother's wallet (having witnessed Tory stealing liquor at the club beforehand). Tory responds by pushing Sam into a dessert table and walking away with Aisha.
Not much about this would change, especially where the rivalry between Sam and Tory is concerned, because it's important for me to note that in canon this inciting incident for the rivalry was before Tory hooked up with Miguel. That wasn't until the next episode.
Meanwhile, through circumstances, Tory also runs into Robby, befriends him, and enters into a relationship with him. In season 3, we see them form a connection after Robby joins Cobra Kai over how they're the ones who bore the blunt of the punishment for the school brawl, and their troubled home lives. So we see that here, with Tory also using elements of the playbook she used in the actual timeline to seduce Miguel, which in this case means convincing Robby that he needs to pretend that he's over Sam. Kreese finds out about the relationship between Robby and Tory, and since he's wanted to snag Robby this whole time, he decides to use Tory as a pawn to influence Robby, in hopes of both eventually getting Robby to join Cobra Kai while also getting revenge on Daniel for humiliating him and Terry Silver back in 1985.
Episode 5:
In episode 5, the mall fight still happens, but with Miguel taking Robby's place. It would work nicely since Miguel is Demetri's friend too. (Robby's on a date with Tory, which is why he's not here)
In this version of events, Sam and Miguel go to the mall with Demetri. Demetri is confronted and attacked by Hawk and several other Cobra Kai students as a reprisal for his Yelp review. Demetri flees into the food court, where Sam and Miguel come to his aid. Despite being outnumbered, they utilize the "wheel technique" to soundly defeat their opponents (Miguel knows it because Daniel, at Sam's request, agreed to give Miguel a private one-on-one lesson with him and Sam in the LaRussos' home dojo). Proud of his students, Daniel resolves to continue training Demetri at a slower pace, and also convinces Miguel to consider joining Miyagi-Do, saying that Miguel could use some new fighting moves for when he defends his title at the next All-Valley Tournament. Sam and Miguel have an intimate moment afterwards (either a passionate makeout session, or they make love in Sam's bedroom).
Hawk is infuriated by Moon breaking up with him AND the fact that Miguel is consorting with the enemy by aiding Sam (in fact, he's noticed Miguel growing distant from him and the rest of Cobra Kai ever since the tournament, having spent more time with Sam than with his friends from the dojo). So when Kreese notices Hawk blowing off steam, he encourages him to continue the fight. That night, Hawk and his Cobra Kai followers trash the Miyagi-Do dojo and steal Mr. Miyagi's Medal of Honor.
Enraged, Daniel confronts Johnny in front of the students at the Cobra Kai dojo. Although Johnny honestly denies any knowledge of the incident, the two nearly come to blows until Miguel steps in and forces them to stand down, getting Daniel to remember his promise not to alienate Miguel from him. While Daniel predictably fails to get any restitution out of Johnny, he nonetheless succeeds in convincing a number of Cobra Kai students to walk out and join Miyagi-Do instead...including Miguel. There's a small smirk on Kreese's face as Miguel leaves, since Miguel's no longer around to oppose him, and he hopes the friction between Robby and Miguel will get Robby to leave Miyagi-Do and come over to Cobra Kai.
Episode 6:
So for the next two episodes, Miguel is now at Miyagi-Do. Although Robby does not trust Miguel (thanks to Kreese using Tory to indirectly manipulate him), Daniel reveals that he himself used to be Cobra Kai before seeing the error of his ways, and tells the class that it doesn't matter who they were before â as of now, they are all Miyagi-Do. They work together to raise a heavy stone slab that Hawk's gang knocked over.
At the Cobra Kai dojo, Johnny punishes the students with strenuous exercises, seeking to root out who was responsible for trashing the Miyagi-Do dojo while also trying to reach out to Miguel, trying to get him to come back (with no success). He then receives a call which brings him to the hospital to visit his old friend Tommy, who is suffering from a terminal illness. Along with Bobby and Jimmy, the former Cobras resolve to treat Tommy to one last day of fun. His departure allows Kreese to corrupt the other Cobra Kais, moreso than in canon where Miguel was around to raise objections. The OG Cobra Kais, besides taking issue with Johnny for letting Kreese back in the picture, don't exactly help Johnny when they suggest that maybe it's for the best that Miguel is on the side of the LaRussos for now, as they've come to develop a lot of respect for Daniel and Mr. Miyagi since the tournament in 1984.
Episode 7:
I'd divide up the training sessions of Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do to happen on separate days. Miguel participates with Sam in the meat locker training scene, taking Robby's place in the canon scene, while pairing Robby up with Demetri or Chris. Meanwhile, Hawk acts as Tory's partner in Coyote Creek instead of Miguel.
Meanwhile, Miguel suspects that Hawk was behind the trashing of Miyagi-Do and it was as payback for the mall fight. Finding out somehow that Cobra Kai are training the following day at Coyote Creek (because someone, maybe Stingray, was foolish enough to post it on social media), he decides to bring Sam and some of the other Miyagi-Dos to ambush the Cobra Kais. Miguel does the ambush on and beatdown of Hawk and takes back the medal of honor, while Sam attacks Tory and gives her a beating, even though Tory wasn't a participant in the vandalism of Miyagi-Do. Daniel's not happy with Sam or Miguel, but Sam counters that they have to show they won't stand for being picked on.
When Tory tells Robby about what happened, Robby is understandably torn on his loyalties. On the one hand, he's got to be loyal to Miyagi-Do, but Tory is his girlfriend, and his resentments towards Miguel begin to resurface. Tory is furious, recalls the same thing Kreese said to get Hawk to trash Miyagi-Do in the first place, and swears revenge on Sam. And for that matter, the Cobra Kais also want revenge on Miyagi-Do.
Episode 8:
Johnny gets Miguel to come back to Cobra Kai, now that Kreese has been expelled and isn't around to teach them in his old ways. Daniel is sad to see Miguel go, but tells Miguel that he's always welcome at their place for private sessions with Daniel and Sam. While Hawk is glad to see Miguel back, Miguel keeps him at arm's length in light of the vandalism and what happened at the mall, and Tory puts on a poker face to hide her hatred of him (which is another reason why she's targeting Sam: to hurt him by proxy).
80's night at the roller rink in canon is the first time Sam and Tory have crossed paths since episode 4.
In canon it goes like this: Tory invites Miguel to the roller rink, and Tory trips Sam for talking to Miguel, getting Sam and Robby ejected from the rink.
In the alternate timeline, it goes like this: Tory invites Robby to the roller rink, and she kisses Robby in front of Sam, something Sam doesn't react well to because she sees Tory as dragging Robby down and potentially undoing the hard work Robby has put into turning his life around ever since he entered the LaRussos' lives. Miguel tries to smooth things over with Tory for Coyote Creek, with little success because he doesn't realize just how deep Tory's hatred for him and Sam is. He starts to realize this when Tory trips Sam moments later, leading Sam to retaliate with a leg sweep, and Miguel also retaliates by getting in Tory's face. As a result, both Sam and Miguel are kicked out of the rink.
Episode 9:
Moon's party goes down a bit differently when it comes to Sam, Miguel, Robby, and Tory's actions.
In the show, while Miguel is by the pool kissing Sam, Robby's inside getting food for a very drunk Sam. However, he gets distracted as the summer-long tension between Hawk and Demetri escalates, and he has to step in and defend Demetri.
Here, due to circumstances, the roles are reversed and Miguel is the one inside defending Demetri from Hawk, while it's Robby who's outside by the pool with Sam, just making sure she's all right (after all, he's the son of two alcoholics). There's no drunk kiss, and instead, Robby and Sam are being friendly, talking, and Sam is raising her concerns about Tory being a bad influence on him. They're seen by Tory, and like when Miguel approached Sam at the roller rink in the actual timeline (or in canon when Miguel saw Sam being friendly with Robby at the LaRussos'), she misinterprets the whole thing in a way that fuels her hatred for Sam that has been festering ever since Sam beat her up at Coyote Creek.
When the police break up the party, Robby hastily decides to take Sam back to Johnny's apartment like in the show. Tory happens to see him getting Sam into his car, and decides that Robby isn't entirely over his feelings for Sam. Giving her another excuse for the school brawl.
Miguel isn't anywhere near them, so he reaches out to Johnny. Johnny calls back when he gets to his apartment and finds Robby and Sam there, or Miguel finds them together there. In either case, there's a short fight between Robby and Miguel (due to Miguel, who has been fully aware this whole time that Robby had a crush on Sam, fearing Robby was taking advantage of her) that Johnny quickly breaks up, with Johnny placating Miguel enough to get him to back down. Miguel takes a few deep breaths, focuses, goes over to his apartment to get his mother, and she quickly whips up a hangover cure for Sam. Carmen also sees fit to call Sam's parents to let them know that she's all right, and they can come pick her up in the morning.
Episode 10:
The Sunday morning after Moon's party, Daniel comes by to pick Sam up. Meanwhile, Robby begins to reconcile with his father. He is thankful for Johnny's help, and when Daniel shows up to take Sam home, Robby is willing to accept the blame to prevent further tension between the two men.
When Daniel arrives, there is no "rematch" between him and Johnny, and nothing of him disowning Robby (it's actually a bit redundant seeing as Robby's going to provide Daniel with a reason to hate him later). Johnny just hands Sam over to Daniel, Daniel takes her home. He's not happy that she seemingly turned to Johnny instead of him in her hour of need, but accepts that that's an issue for another day.
Over that Sunday, Robby and Johnny reconcile at Johnny's apartment, while Miguel goes over to the LaRussos' house and talks things over with Daniel, Amanda and Sam. He apologizes for not being more attentive to Sam, as he was busy trying to defend Demetri.
That Monday, Johnny takes Robby to school. Even as Johnny's attempts to be fatherly to him on his first day of school are awkward, Robby appreciates that he is trying, and encourages his father to make peace with Daniel, believing that the two of them could learn some things from each other.
Shortly into the morning announcements, Tory assaults the teacher and seizes control of the intercom to announce an ass-beating of Sam. Like in the show, the two girls circle each other in the hallway, with Robby and Miguel frantically racing to reach them. Miguel gets there first and manages to briefly separate them, only for Robby to arrive and â believing that Miguel is attacking Tory â start his own fight with him. With Miguel also giving his all, still pissed at Robby for (seemingly) trying to take advantage of Sam.
The brawl thus plays out the same. And the outcome of the Sam vs. Tory and Miguel vs. Robby fights are the same. In the girls' fight, Tory shifts her spiked bracelet to her knuckles, slashing Sam's arm before threatening to slice her face with it. Sam regains the upper hand and knocks her down a staircase. Meanwhile, Miguel pins Robby to the floor, but, remembering what Johnny said about the difference between having no mercy and no honor, shows mercy and apologizes. However, Robbyâs anger at Miguel over having everything Robby doesn't have--the tournament trophy, the romance with Sam, Johnny's preferential treatment, Daniel's approval-- boils over and he seizes the opening to attack Miguel, inadvertently kicking him over the stairway balcony and paralyzing him.
In the aftermath, Daniel is furious that both his daughter and her boyfriend, who he's come to like ever since the tournament, are both in the hospital with injuries. He also blames Tory for corrupting Robby once he learns from Sam that Robby had been dating Tory.
Season 3:
Season 3 has some differences in the details, but otherwise stays mostly the same.
-----
At the end of the day, the rivalries amongst Sam, Miguel, Robby and Tory are made a bit stronger by cutting out the love triangles. With Sam vs. Tory, that rivalry is balanced out a bit by having Sam be a contributor to the increasing tensions between them, not just Tory doing everything. While Robby vs. Miguel is a bit stronger rivalry due to the fact that Robby has to interact with Miguel a lot more, all while having to bottle up his resentments of Miguel so he doesn't lose the LaRussos' hospitality.
