6. I'm not giving up

The world around her shook as the Megalodontia bit down on the shipping container Yoko had hidden herself in, the structure buckling under the sheer power of the bite. 

It was all her fault, really. She wanted to have the concert during the Big Run, not at all deterred by the threat of Salmonids attacking nearby. She didn’t even want to cancel when she heard of the threat of a Megalodontia splitting off from the school to attack here specifically. Nothing ever stopped her from doing what she wanted to do.

At least her friends had gotten out of the way on time. She was left to barely survive the relenting attack till she made it here, to this hiding spot. She was exhausted, in pain, in utter misery, with several bites and a painful migraine to show for her efforts. And now the massive god king salmon was going to crush the container and drink her out of it like a smoothie. 

Megalodontia was taking its sweet time, too, as if mocking her. She was powerless now, with nothing left for her to do but to lie down in there and die. 

She didn’t like that. She didn’t like that at all.

“I’m not giving up.” She opened her eyes, glaring down into the gaping maw before her. “I know your doing this to mock me, people have done that before. But I am not giving up.”

She struggled to her feet, her glare never leaving her face. “I wasted Five sleepless years of my life to get my music degree. I made sure I was top of my class every day just to show the teachers what they were dealing with. I’ve performed through thunderstorms and dry seasons, even as my body screamed at me how much it wanted to kill me. Do you really think I’m gonna let this stop me? Certain death at some fat fish’s teeth?”

There was a grumble of offense from the salmonid. She laughed it off. “I’ve got problems, you stupid fish! And I’ve made mistakes even dumber than this before! I’m Yoko freaking Mangekyo!”

She grabbed a discarded harpoon that had been hidden lying by her, holding it as adrenaline animated her limbs again. “I welcome you to try and kill me, you stupid fish!”

Belting out a battle cry, she ran into the beast's mouth, no plan in particular other than survival. And by god would she survive tonight.
