“They raised so many questions, behaved strangely, and hence got suspended,” BJP MP Hema Malini said on 141 MPs suspended
On Tuesday, BJP MP and veteran actress Hema Malini commented on the suspension of 141 MPs in the last few days From Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha and said that they got suspended because they asked too many questions and had strange behavior.
"They have done something wrong and that's why they have been suspended. Everyone should behave according to Parliament rules. They did not do that and got suspended. There is nothing wrong with it. This is right," Hema Malini was recorded saying.
Mocking the BJP MP, several Congress leaders said that it is she who has finally revealed the reason for the suspension of Congress and Opposition MPs from both houses.
Telangana Congress leader Sam Ram Mohan Reddy took to X and posted a video along with the caption, "Finally, a BJP MP has revealed the reason for the suspension of Congress and opposition MPs. BJP MP Hema Malini:— They ask too many questions that’s why they are suspended." In the video, Hema Malini had said, "Dekhiye vo itna sawal uthate hai kuch ajeeb sa behave karte hai...iske liye unko suspend kiya gya hai. Suspend kiya toh kuch toh unlog galat kaam kar raha hai (See, they raised so many questions, behaved strangely, and hence got suspended. Their suspension means they did something wrong)."
In the last few days, 141 MPs have been suspended from Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. The suspension came after the security breach in the Lok Sabha on December 13. The reason behind the en masse suspension is MPs from the opposition demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament on the security breach incident.
This Parliament session has been one of its kind. First, it had a security breach and then a mass suspension of 141 MPs. In a tweet, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, "For the first time in my parliamentary career of nearly 15 years, I too entered the well of the House holding a placard calling for a discussion on the recent security breach. I did so out of solidarity with my @INCIndia colleagues, who have been unjustly suspended for demanding accountability from the government. I expect the suspension to follow. It is a badge of honor to be defenestrated by an unfair process." He was later suspended.

Turmoil in Parliament: Suspension of 49 MPs Heightens Tensions
In a dramatic turn of events during the Winter Session 2023, disruptions lead to the suspension of 49 Lok Sabha MPs, including notable figures like Farooq Abdullah, Shashi Tharoor, and Supriya Sule. The tally of suspended MPs in this session rises to 141, triggering further chaos.
Tumblr media
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced adjournment until 2 pm as Opposition MPs persisted in protests, demanding a statement from PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the recent Parliament security breach. The scenes were marked by placards, slogans, and a fervent call for the Prime Minister's presence in the assembly.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi attributed the unrest to the Opposition's discontent following their defeat in recent assembly polls. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing BJP MPs, criticized the protesting members, stating that some are not inclined towards constructive work. He warned that if such antics persist, the suspended MPs might not return to Lok Sabha.
The political arena remains tense as the Parliament grapples with disruptions, prompting concerns about the functioning and decorum of the Winter Session. Stay tuned for further updates on this unfolding saga.

» a déclaré M. Tharoor.
