There’s a criminally low amount of coverage on Jung and Shannon from Kim’s Connivence.

I love Kim’s Convenience but this season being the last is just... so disappointing

1. Umma’s MS is just.... going to kill her? It’s implied and it’s sad. Like there’s no closure like a doctor saying “oh you’re doing well :)” etc. it’s just left open ended and it’s depressing.

2. Appa and Jung just NEVER repair their relationship

3. Jung and Shannon just... break up. Out of now where. It’s random and unexpected and it’s devastating.

4. Kimchee and Shannon don’t ever talk to their birth parents/birth father.

5. Janet is just... completely lost. She doesn’t go more into her discovering her sexuality.

6. Personally I ship them, but Janet and Gerald just don’t expand on their relationship like they did the previous season, it sucks.

7. No one takes over the store. Appa and Umma talk about selling it, talk to Jung about taking it over, but he doesn’t. Janet certainly doesn’t want to. It’s open ended similar to Umma’s MS

8. The last scene between Gerald and Janet is just.... sad. It’s upsetting

I’m probably missing some stuff but yeah

So I watched the finale this morning and I still can't believe they broke up Jung and Shannon. I get that she wanted adventures, more...but he did too so why not do that together? Just have them pursue their dream but still stay together... I'm so angry that we're left with that ending forever...

Jung and Shannon. Kim’s Convience. Season Four.

Toying with the idea of Shannon being afraid of commitment and a bit self destructive...she seems like a faithful person because she stayed two years with Alejandro, but he was clearly not a decent guy. Thus a lower risk factor then say Jung who she actually loves more on a soul level. Because the guy who could hurt her more if it went wrong is Jung. And not just her heart, her job and her friend circle. The guy she couldn’t protect herself from is Jung. The guy that she would have to give up that perceived sense of control is Jung.

It’s vulnerable on a level she never had or would have had with Alejandro.

And Jung...he’s actually mister committed.

He’s played like this ladies man and yes he dated around while Shannon was with Alejandro but he literally NEVER let the idea of her go.

As soon as she broke up I with Alejandro it was on for Jung because he never closed that door.

And he’s the one who wants to move in and Shannon back pedals.

And I may be going to meta....but I ship them lots and want it to work out and so I’m plumbing the idea of her destructive tendencies...and attempts to keep Jung in a “safe” relationship box.

And Shannon herself said “and that’s what make’s this different.” In regards to the fact that’s it’s Jung this time and not a random guy.
