Yes yes yes....
While the everyone is shocked at how serious but kind is "Luffy"
....I'd say that Nika wouldn't like Tot Musica... you know the demon king guy.
Yeah. Not his tyoe of guy to be friends with
(For your god au btw, it xan either be all the crew are reincarnated gods or just the crew as priests and kuffy as god(
Ohhh yes Luffy doesn't like him at all, I mean Music is fun but trapping people in a dream isn't.
He felt something was wrong when Uta started to Sing, he usually wouldn't be trapped inside the Uta world but because this human body? Yeah he is stuck here as well...but he is a god...that is inside another divine(or not so divine) being...Tot Musica knows he is there. And want him out...

Shanks Relationship Headcanons
Tumblr media
Summary: A random collection of Shanks relationship headcanons
Genre: Fluff
CW: None // SFW
———
Shanks can’t stand you at first. You get under his skin without even trying. Worse still, you don’t take his bait- you don’t bicker with him, you don’t argue, but you also don’t laugh at his jokes, and it drives him absolutely insane. He’s never met anyone he couldn’t drag down to his level and he doesn’t know what to do about that.
You also rebuff his advances initially, and he panics because nobody rebuffs his advances. He could bed Akainu if he wanted to, he’s certain of it, so why can’t he bed you? He becomes consumed by his desire to have you, not just in his bed but in his company more generally, eating at his table and sharing a drink and some gossip with him.
He never shuts up about you, constantly complaining to Beckman, who realizes what is going on almost immediately. Beckman doesn’t bother trying to illuminate Shanks as to the annoying predicament that is love, just laughs to himself.
Starts writing down and rehearsing his absolute best material before he sees you. When you don’t laugh, he becomes convinced you’re withholding your laughter just to be mean to him. He almost blows a gasket when Lucky Roux tells him, “you know, Captain, maybe your sense of humor just isn’t for everyone.”
This eventually culminates in him blowing up and kissing you one night. To his utter surprise, you kiss him back. From that point forward, the two of you are going steady, which is uncharted territory for Shanks.
When he does finally identify your sense of humor, it’s one of his proudest moments. He’s merciless from that point forward, drawing as many laughs from your lips as possible. He'll even resort to tickling you just to hear that musical sound.
To his surprise, you relationship quickly becomes his temple. You’re the person he’s actually serious with, the person with whom he shares his fears and ambitions, with whom he is raw and vulnerable. When he has nightmares, you’ll be the one to comfort him, and when he has doubts, you’ll be the one to reassure him.
There’s much more to him than meets the eye. He isn’t just a drunken layabout or a prankster, but a complex man with great ambition, and the foundation of your relationship is your ability to unravel these complexities.
That being said, if he does eventually make you a little less mature, a little more petty, a little more childish, he’ll view it as one of his greatest victories.
So dramatic. Tells you things like, “I would cease to exist if we were parted,” and, “you fill in the cracks in my soul,” and he means them 100%. Naturally you don’t realize he means them 100% until you find yourself in a life-threatening situation and he drops literally everything to rescue you, apologizing profusely for allowing a hair on your head to be harmed. It’s in that moment you realize the gravity of receiving the affection of an Emperor.
Brings you flowers, usually a bundle of cheap supermarket flowers with a lot of different colors (he can't actually identify any of the flowers but thought they were pretty). He’s the sort to throw rocks at your window and serenade you with a guitar (he’ll sing but he’s bad at it), but only after you’re in a relationship so it makes you laugh more than it makes you swoon.
Will order Beckman to reroute the crew’s course so far out of their way it’s comical because he wants you to try a restaurant on an island he visited a decade ago because they served your favorite food in a unique and delicious way; naturally when you get there the restaurant has closed. Shanks makes it up to you with a bowl of ramen, though.
Got you a massive stuffed strawberry from a carnival (he lost the game but stole the prize anyway when the carnie wasn’t looking, delinquent ass boyfriend), gets very upset if he walks into your room and it’s not on your bed. Now likes to call you strawberry. Other nicknames include red panda or just panda and even my sake cup. Also refers to you in conversation as the crown jewels.
Tipsy walks down the beach at night, your fingers intertwined, that end with him chasing you through the shallows, catching you in his arms, and spinning you around. He loves a good came of chase, or even hide and seek. Also, strip poker.
Would never admit it, but he’s often the little spoon. He’ll collapse on top of you after a night of drinking with the boys. Also, he can’t fall asleep without a fistful of something, and since the two of you became an item, that something is usually your hair or shirt (at least to keep it SFW 😉).

I Want A Divorce! Shanks (OPLA)
Tumblr media
You get ill and Shanks offers to do your jobs around the ship, but he gets distracted easily and wants your praise. You love the man-child, but sometimes you have to tell him to actually like his age. Shanks x Reader FLUFF!
'You have a high fever so I'm going to recommend bed rest until it breaks, can't have you getting any worse,' Hongo states, placing a cold cloth on your forehead which was nice in your current state.
You cough, 'I guess I can take it easy Hongo.'
Over Hongo's shoulder, you notice Shanks watching and listening intently to the doctor's orders, 'I'm going to do all your jobs so you just rest up.'
You and Hongo snicker sharing a moment, both of you knowing Shanks wouldn't be able to cope with all that you did around the ship without complaining. Hongo pats your shoulder as he gets up from the bed. Shanks immediately takes his spot, tucking you in. You were the fourth crew member to join and the only female, and had been charmed into dating the notorious red-haired pirate.
'I love you darling but you don't even know half of what I do around here,' you whisper, throat sore.
Shanks puffs out his chest proudly, 'I'm going to make you proud, I'm going to do so good everyone will be begging me to do your jobs instead.'
You smile as he leans down and kisses the cold cloth.
TWO DAYS LATER
Shanks bursts through the doors of his quarters which you shared and throws himself on the bed next to you burying his face in a pillow. He could be an overdramatic diva at times but he was your diva. Before you can say anything Lucky walks in holding a tray of food that makes your mouth water and forget your partner.
'How are you feeling? Hongo said you should eat more fruit so I made you a fruit salad for after your soup.'
Ignoring Shanks who was now mumbling into the pillow you sit up and accept the tray of food and glass of water, 'You're all too good to me Lucky. How are the new guys?'
Lucky shrugs his shoulders, 'confused and maybe a little scared because they follow your instructions which makes captain grumpy.'
You nod, 'I'll talk to him. Thanks for the update.'
Lucky leaves and closes the door behind him. Shanks rolls onto his side and reaches for the fruit salad but you swat his hand away, 'My fruit salad captain.'
Shanks pouts, sticking out his bottom lip and shooting you his best puppy dog eyes, 'Why didn't you tell me what you did? I wouldn't have agreed otherwise. I love you, but dealing with the new crew is tedious.'
Just wait until he found out all the other odd jobs you did to help out the rest of the crew, there was a reason people called you mother hen. You pop a slice of apple in your mouth and sigh, 'What do you want me to do darling? Give you a pat on the back? Feed you a treat, give you a belly rub and call you a good boy? It's not easy but you never back down from a challenge. I know you'll give it your all until I get better.'
Shanks sits up and stops pouting, a look of determination in his eyes, 'You're right I can do this. I'm going to make you proud.'
You scoff as he steals some grapes and jumps off the bed with a new lease of life, you really did have him wrapped around your little finger.
FOUR DAYS LATER
Your fever had come down and you didn't feel like death anymore, but Hongo insisted you stay in bed for a few more days. The crew had bets on Shanks he didn't know about, he'd gotten better at doing your jobs but wasn't great. You promised to stay in bed so the crew could make some money off your partner.
THREE DAYS LATER
You were sat up in bed reading the newspaper feeling much better and enjoying relaxing for once. Shanks walks in and climbs on top of you, lying on you with his full weight, 'I know your secret babe,' he chuckles, head now resting on your chest, eyes locked with yours but he doesn't look upset.
You put the paper down and start running your fingers through his hair, 'Hongo asked me to stay in bed longer, I actually enjoyed not having as many responsibilities, makes a nice change. I'm sorry for deceiving you, Shanks.'
Shanks nuzzles into your hands more enjoying the massage, 'Now I know how much you do I want you to slow down. I'll try and help more when I can, and the crew promised to fix their own problems before coming to you for help babe.'
'Thank you. However, you lying on top of me is making parts of my body fall asleep.'
Shanks smirks, 'I'll wake them up when I need them.'
You throw your head back and laugh at his playful and flirty antics, 'I want a divorce.'
Shanks matches your laughter, 'I'm never letting you go, you mean too much to me. Maybe a few years after the marriage you can talk about a divorce.'
For all the years the two of you had been together you weren't engaged, everyone assumed you were married and the two of you kind of went with the flow. Little did you know Shanks wasn't joking about marriage this time around.

infrunami.
Tumblr media
"can you come back to me? cause i was blind to see that you were right infrunami."
heeseung x f!reader
this is the original draft to the now smau, see if you can spot all the changes i made from oneshot ver to smau ver! also warning it ends very abruptly because its unfinished lol
wc: 4.9k
You couldn't remember how your life was before Ningning. Your best friend had moved to your street in the 3rd grade, your houses straight across from one another.
Ningning seemed straight out of a dream you had, with her closet full of the Justice you never got to own. Her hair was always perfectly groomed, and a pretty headband in place to keep it down. She was the kindest person you had ever met, and though you hadn't met many people at the ripe age of 8 you had guessed she must be the nicest person in the world because why else would she hand you sugary snacks from her lunchbox every day?!
She was comforting. Predictable even. Which is why it was such a shock when you met her older brother, Heeseung. He was the most confusing person in the world- scratch that- the *Universe*. He was always looming in the background, his closet being anything but flashy. Seriously, a black Nirvana shirt in elementary school?!
Because of this, you found yourself constantly trying to talk to him, to figure him out. Even though his shy demeanor pushed you away, you'd always come running back. Heeseung would never admit it, but he appreciated your company. A lot.
In middle school, it became even harder for Heeseung to express this sentiment. 'hey Yizhuo, is Y/N coming today?' became 'I hope to God your little friend isn't staying over', it was just a product of hormones and deep teenage angst. He couldn't help it!
As you both grew, he figured your childish interest in him would disappear. It was simply curiosity, nothing more. so when you stayed clinging onto him, Heeseung was left shrugging you off, his disinterest only feeding into your infatuation with the boy.
"You with barcode boy again?"
"Piss off, limp dick!" You sneered, tugging Heeseung closer to you as you both strode in the hallway.
"You don't have to do that y'know.." He muttered words barely above a whisper. You turned to face him, tilting your head. "Do what?"
"Defend me. or hang out with me in general" He looked away, staring at the lockers instead of making eye contact with you. You stared at him for a moment before looking away, your grip on his arm tightening.
"Don't be stupid." Heeseungs parted lips closed, unsure of how to respond.
"I'll always be here, Seung. Nobody will hurt you under my watch" You proudly grinned, giving him an enthusiastic thumbs up. He just nodded, the same tight-lipped expression he had before.
"Yeah, guess I couldn't get rid of you if I tried."
You snorted "Was that the goal?"
"Damn it! You caught me" He smiled, finally turning to face you. You grinned, softly meeting his gaze.
"I take it back, only *one* person can hurt you"
He cocked an eyebrow, tilting his head.
"Who?" You quickly unlinked your arm from his, punching the now-open area right above his waist. You gave his ribs one last shank for good measure before pointing to yourself with your thumb.
"I can!"
As the years passed, that mostly held up. What started as relief turned into humiliation, as he continuously got comments about your company.
What was even worse than the teasing was you: A generally popular cheerleader about half his height and a year younger berating anyone who dared to talk about Heeseung. How was he *ever* supposed to get a girlfriend at this rate?
It didn't help that you were practically an arm away at all times, given that you were with Ningning 90% of the day. Heeseung understood you just wanted to keep your oath, but he felt more than ever like a sad loser who resorts to being with his sister's cheer team rather than being his own person.
Heeseung tried to reason with himself. The people snickering were most likely just jealous! High school kids weren't known as the most accepting people in the world, so he took it with pride.
At least.. he tried to.
But the only thing worse than the people in his grade were the ones in *yours*. The glares the cheer team sent his way never went unnoticed, the already self-conscious boy only curling over himself more throughout the years.
He could hardly talk to you inside school anymore, with your presence becoming an honor more than a regular site. It didn't help that his friend was almost always whining about sneaking off to the library to play games on the computers, a sheepish smile on his face as you nodded in understanding.
He knew you were growing up, and that you'd change, that you'd both change. Heeseung told himself it was natural, that he shouldn't feel so bad every time he saw your new friends. People change, and they go with people who suit them. It became increasingly clear to him that you two didn't suit each other after all this time. It was time for your childish interest in your friend's older brother to leave, and for that interest to be with people who suited you. People that weren't Heeseung.
"You don't have to do all this for me"
"But I want to" You smiled, lazily swinging your backpack off your shoulder and placing it on his desk. You took out an old hoodie Heeseung had overgrown (It didn't quite fit you either, but trying to take it from you was like talking to a wall), swiftly sticking your arms through the holes to cover your sweaty cheer uniform.
"Which episode of Mob Psycho were we on?" He sat up, closing his laptop. You hadn't noticed, too busy grabbing materials from your backpack to see his uneasy expression. "15 right?"
"You should be with Yizhuo right now" You glanced up, eyebrows furrowing.
"She's with the team, they're out bowling" You laughed it off, looking back down at the perfume and makeup you had placed on the black wood. He cleared his throat, catching your attention again.
"That's what I mean. You should be out bowling" He offered, watching the way you waved him off with a laugh. "I like hanging out with you, don't worry about it"
"I know you do.." He trailed, Heeseungs expression saying what he didn't have to. You squinted, your hands slowing from your bag.
"Do *you* not like hanging around *me*?"
Before he could clarify, he felt the teenage angst start kicking in. Fuck, fuck! The last thing you needed was the wrong idea, but before he could stop himself from construing his own words puberty went to work.
"I just don't understand why you keep lingering around. you're forcing something that isn't working!" He threw his hands up, watching you mirror the gesture. "You think I'm forcing us? Is that what you really think?"
Heeseung's jaw tensed, of course it wasn't. But it'd be selfish of him to keep you to himself. "If you actually cared you'd leave me alone."
You scoffed, throwing the hoodie back into your bag as you spoke "I told you I wouldn't leave you anytime soon. You never seemed to be bothered by it until now"
"I don't need charity work. You're a cool girl, but you're supposed to be Yizhuo's friend, not mine."
"Y'know what? You're right, I should've been bowling right now. But instead, I'm watching anime with a fucking loser. 'Cause I liked you more than them, my bad for not getting the hint it wasn't mutual"
You gestured to the perfume left on his desk, slinging your backpack over your shoulder. "I don't want it anymore. The scent reminds me of you, tell Ning it's a gift"
You shut his door on the way out, leaving him alone in engulfing silence. Well shit, this isn't remotely what he wanted. Fuck puberty. He'd rather drag you back in here and argue with you than sit by himself, the only thing he had left to think about is your words. You had done exactly what he asked, and he made it impossibly clear what he wanted. So why isn't he happy with the result? Why did it feel like this was gonna come back to bite him? Heeseung was no master of social cues, but even he knew he couldn't text you with a simple 'Hey soz lol I was having a bad day 🙏💯" and expect you to be happy. Making his sister talk to you for him was possibly the second worst idea he had ever had in his 16 years of life (The first was the time he convinced Ningning to get into the toddler swing in middle school. She broke her hip.)
Heeseung felt at a loss for words. At a loss of emotion even, complete suspension of thought in his mind.
He glanced at the perfume, squinting to see what scent it was.
Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath and Bodyworks. A scent so feminine no man would ever willingly keep it, let alone use it. He had to give it to his sister, he was never gonna be caught *dead* with this in his room.
*spritz*
It was surprisingly strong. No wonder you used it after cheer practice, it makes sense how you never smelt bad even when sitting right next to him, the laptop on each of your thighs so it's an equal viewing experience. The smell was the only comforting thing to Heeseung at this moment, no well in hell he was getting rid of it. He took the bottle and shoved it into the corner of his nightstand: Out of sight out of mind!
--
As Heeseung expected, now that you were out of the equation the teasing went down by a mile. It also helped that any rumors of the two of you were shut down by the entire team, all of them seemingly having a consensus it was no hard feelings. Or at least, a consensus to tell people that. Heeseung also found himself becoming slimmer and gaining muscle, most all his time was devoted to basketball to take his mind off that night.
But moving on would be simply too easy. Whatever God or deity exists was most definitely on your side, or at the very least, not Heeseungs.
When he found out you had gotten with one of his middle school bullies, he was distraught. you had seen how much Sunghoon bothered him every day, the nickname 'barcode boy' still being used on Heeseung all these years later.
Though he and Sunghoon were on decent terms now, he couldn't help but feel as if it was a targeted decision. Getting with someone you knew hated him after having a blow-up fight sure was an odd coincidence at best and bafflingly petty at worst.
"You guys are seriously so cute" Kazuha gushed, your phone in her hand as she took the role of cameraman for your insta.
Sunghoon had his arm wrapped nonchalantly around your shoulders, a peace sign being his attempt at posing for the camera. You puckered your lips, kissing his cheek as the camera flashed. "Thank you, Zuha" You took your phone back, blowing a kiss that she quickly snatched before Sunghoon had a chance. you showed him the photo, smiling up at your boyfriend.
"Still can't believe how long it took for me to realize you liked me"
He shrugged, a sheepish laugh escaping his lips. "Didnt exactly express it well"
Ningning tilted her head "I thought you two hated each other, I know Y/N did for a while"
He shook your shoulder, a proud smile on his face. "Nah, I was just jealous of Heeseung and took it out on him" You tutted at the name drop, the simple mention of him still catches you off guard. Ningning snorts, leaning onto the diner's table in sudden interest. "What? You thought they were into each other?" You nervously laugh along with them, your eyes darting wildly now that your brain has been kicked into high alert with the new conversation topic.
"Still did up till she asked me out"
"God, this is so cheesy" You deflected, your head buried into his chest from embarrassment
Heeseung had arrived a few minutes ago to pick his sister up, watching the conversation in horror. He knew you'd be there, that was a given, but he figured it was a girl hangout and he'd possibly have the chance to talk to you. Instead, you were curled up next to Sunghoon, who had his arm wrapped around your back. The casual mention of his name drove him crazy, he hated how you were no longer protective over him. He hated that he lost your loyalty.
"Speaking of Heeseung, where is he? He should've been here by now"
You stiffened under Sunghoon, resisting the urge to rip away from him and look at your best friend after she offhandedly said he'd be here. Right next to you.
Sunghoon noticed, speaking for you "You need your brother to pick you up?"
"I don't have my license" she reasoned, scrolling through her contacts to find him. "And unlike all of you, I'm on good terms with him"
"Hey! I never hated Heeseung" Kazuha crossed her arms, clearly offended. Ningning looked back up at her, an unimpressed expression on her face "You talked shit about him every time Y/N couldn't join us"
Heeseung almost yelped when his phone audibly rang, revealing his presence at the front entrance. He cleared his throat and shoved his phone into his back pocket, big brother mode turning on.
"I just got here, Gyu was holding me up" The table physically relaxed, a relieved look on everyone's face. Ningning stood up, kissing Kazuha on the cheek while saying her goodbyes. Sunghoon gave Heeseung a short wave, an awkward wave back from the latter before they were on their way.
Heeseung wished that was the worst part about you dating Sunghoon, the fact that they had middle school beef. Something as stupid and trivial as that, and that deep down you were happy and living your best life while he was bitter he wasn't in it.
He wished the worst part wasn't the fact that Sunghoon, your first love, tried to fuck your best friend. Heeseungs little sister.
It certainly didn't help that you gave him a second chance and reassured everyone you knew it'd be a one-time thing. until it wasn't, and you walked in on him and another girl
Heeseung remembered you rushing into their house, broken sobs as you begged for forgiveness from Ningning.
He had just made a new bad decision that had to make the top of the list (beating out the broken hip incident by a long shot), and it was the moment you told Ningning what happened.
His biggest regret was not running out of his room and hugging you, comforting you, just *seeing* you. Instead, he chickened out like he always did.
How many regrets can one person blame on puberty? At what point does it become your personality, just a part of you that you can't deny?
Heeseung listened through a closed door, whispering how he was gonna beat Sunghoons ass into next year. Lies, he knew he couldn't do anything. He was simply the barcode boy, the boy that couldn't stand up for anyone or anything. He felt so useless, wishing he could do more than listen
The cherry on top was he was graduating that year, shipping himself off to university that summer. Without a proper chance to say goodbye, you went 3 years without a single word exchanged with one another.
-
"She's going to some preppy art school an hour away" Ningning complained, throwing herself onto her mattress without a bed frame.
"You'd rather have her come to us with our tuition rate? hard pass" Heeseung was on the opposite side of the room, placing boxes in a miscellaneous order. Ningning rolled over, now on her back as she continued to whine.
"Going to art school on a full-ride scholarship is about as embarrassing as wearing a varsity jacket after high school"
She peered at her brother who was in fact, wearing his varsity jacket after high school.
"Mom paid a lot of money for this!" He reasoned, pointing toward her. "You better watch your mouth before I leave you to unpack by yourself" She sheepishly smiled, mumbling an apology.
"Why do you have so much shit??" He continues to nag, opening the boxes to see what in the world could've made them so heavy and full. "You're gonna end up throwing half of this.." He trails off, not finishing his statement as his attention began to drift. Peeking through one of the box's flaps was a picture frame of the 3 of you. Heeseung could only half listen to what Ningning was saying, too preoccupied with flipping the box's lid with his backhand to get a better view. It's been years and there are absolutely 0 reasons he should still be hung up over you, but the sense of yearning for what could've been has been looming over his head like a notification he couldn't swipe away.
"They're filled with memories you heartless asshole!"
"That's what a hoarder would say" He scoffs, now kneeling over the box with the picture in his hand. Ningning fell silent, pulling herself up to get a better view of Heeseungs dejected sigh. His eyes flashed with so many thoughts and memories she couldn't even begin to imagine what he was thinking.
"She came to the party crying when you guys had that fight. She kept asking me if you never liked her" His heart sank to his ass, and at that moment he wanted nothing more than to shit out all the guilt pooling in his stomach. "It was for the better, she's happy"
"Have you been happy, Heeseung?"
He closed his lips together, forming a thin line over his teeth before pushing it back out to make a pout. "That's irrelevant"
"Not when she would ask how you were doing every day"
"I thought you were just being a caring sister!" Heeseungs frown was met with Ningnings evil cackle, putting her elbows on the bed and sliding so she was on her stomach.
"God no!" She snorted, tilting her head as if a thought bubble had appeared on the side of her temple. "it was always 'Is Heeseung okay? what's he up to? Has he made any new friends?' and I'd always have to be like 'well...'" she trailed, smiling mischievously when she saw his annoyed expression.
"Wait.. she was checking up on me?"
"The whole time." She hummed before shrugging "Not sure if it makes you feel better or worse, but I hope it helps you make the right choice"
He furrows his brows, placing the frame back into the box carefully, and he could barely spare his sister a single glance when his gaze was busy lingering on your giddy smile.
"What choice?"
"She's coming to the party later tonight."
Party was a bit of an overstatement, it was closer to a medium-sized get-together. Now that Ningning was a freshman at her brother's university, he gathered his friends (reluctantly after they practically begged to see her) and some of their acquaintances to hang out at Jake's fraternity house. Although it was optional, everyone was also welcome to bring a plus one. Heeseung had joked she was gonna bring you but hadn't expected her to take it as genuine advice.
"Does she know what it is?" Ningning brought her hand up to her shoulder, shaking it loosely. "So-so??"
Heeseung deadpanned, tilting his head in a final show of how unimpressed he was, leaving Ningning to drop her head with a sigh.
"I'm just saying. I want you to be happy again Seung." She lifted her head back up, and pursed her lips as she thought for a moment. "Y/N wants you to be happy. I'm her carrier pigeon" She finished, finally drawing a short laugh out of her brother.
"Yunjins my plus one" Heeseung breathed out, his expression turning sour at the mention. Ningning furrowed her eyebrows, her mouth tugging itself into an unamused smile. "Okay? You're not trying to fuck my friend are you?"
He quickly shook his head, hands coming up defensively. "No! She just never liked when I was around other girls."
Ningning face curled into disgust at the insinuation "You last talked to her when she was 15, I think she can handle you having a girlfriend."
"Not my girlfriend" He groaned, standing up to resume his task of relocating all the boxes.
"Whatever, just don't be stupid!"
-
An hour into the party, Heeseung was sure his sister had just bluffed. He had yet to spot you, which was embarrassing when he took a good look at himself in the mirror.
He had worn his best sweatshirt, paired with baggy jeans he only wore on special occasions. Though it wasn't obvious to any onlookers, to Heeseung the fact that he had dressed to impress you only reminded him of the anxiousness he possessed as a teenager.
Staring at his reflection, Heeseungs eyes widened once he peered down lower, a strip of pictures you two took in a photobooth sticking out his pocket slightly. Yeah, definitely resembling himself 3 years ago.
Now exiting the bathroom, he could hardly hold back the frown etched on his face, his mood undeniably soured.
"Didn't know you cared so much about losing beer pong" Jake teased, an arm slinging around his friends as the other arm handed him a red solo cup. "Hey, no hard feelings. just had to get back at you for the other day"
Heeseung tried his best to put on a more lighthearted expression, the corner of his lip quirking at the mention of his victory. "I've always been better at basketball" He nonchalantly shrugged, Jake's unimpressed glare working the other corner up into a full smile.
"But seriously, what's with the attitude?" Heeseungs eyes perked up the question, a confused furrow of his eyebrows functioning as a reply. "You look like you wanted to leave since you got here"
"Ah," He started, his gaze faltering when he realized he wasn't as secretive with his emotions as he had hoped. "I just, I dunno.." He continued, open hand going to the crook of his neck as he scratched absentmindedly. "Guess I acted weird cause of someone"
Jake frowned at the vague answer, tutting as he unlinked his arm from the other boy. "You can't wear your best for a girl you've been ignoring all night"
Heeseung winced, slowly moving his eyes from the crowd to his friend. "Am I that obvious?"
"Dude, you are *not* as slick as you think you are." Jake laughed, taking the untouched cup back into his own grasp and taking a sip. "Yunjin thought you were mad at her"
Heeseung blinked, worry turning into confusion. Jake was so incredibly close to hitting the mark, and then completely avoided it in true Jake fashion.
"Well I'm not"
"Tell that to Yunjin, she's been with Yizhuo and her friend the entire time. By the way, do you recognize her? figured I'd ask 'cause no one else does" Jake points to their general direction.
Absolutely nothing could've prepared Heeseung for the sight.
The reason he's been ignoring everyone, the reason he was nervous to show up today, the reason he had a stupid photobooth strip (that had to be at least 5 years old at this point) stuffed in his pocket.
There you were, laughing away with a small group of girls right by the assortment of drinks.
All he could do was gulp, a silent nod was all he could manage. "Knew I should've asked you first! Who is that?" Heeseung was utterly unresponsive, his eyes boring into every inch of you. Jake watched for a moment, cracking a grin eventually. "You're helpless," He chuckled, giving his friend a light shove in your direction. "Go talk to your girl!"
It completely flew over Heeseungs head that Jake had intended to tease him about Yunjin, his mind now coming up with a plan. He had to show he wasn't the same kid he was when you last saw him. He had to prove that he had grown.
And that he was really.. really sorry about that night.
The same question kept repeating in his mind: how can he act cool? What should he do to show you the best first impression he can?
What would Jake do? What would Jake do?! Since Jake always seemed to have a roster at any given moment, Heeseung figured he had to be doing something right. so if he just used the advice from his somewhat womanizing friend...
"Guess who?" He spoke lowly in your ear, covering your eyes with his hands.
Holy shit. Heeseung wanted to curl into a ball and roll off the face of the earth from how corny and absolutely *not cool* he was being.
You softly gasped, arms tugging away at his and turning around in complete shock. "Heeseung?" Your eyes beamed, looking him up and down as if you couldn't believe he was real. Though in a split second, all emotion drained from your face as you glanced back up and made eye contact. "What the hell was that?" He opened his mouth to respond, but he was quickly cut off by Yunjin.
"You guys know each other?" Her curious glance at the close proximity made the moment suddenly awkward, both of you nodding wordlessly.
The question was.. hard to answer. With your complicated relationship, neither of you were sure how exactly to answer without going into detail.
"We grew up together" Although you said it as more of a question than a confident response, you earned a nod of approval from both Ningning and Heeseung. you turned back to Yunjin, smiling as you took his arms and crossed them over your shoulders to prevent him from running away.
"This is the first time he's ever approached me first actually" The passive-aggressive comment had made one thing clear to him: you were most definitely still mad at him.
"Really? He's not that shy.." Yunjin looked back up to the boy for confirmation, earning a sheepish laugh.
"I used to be"
"Aww, that sounds kinda cute" She smiled, eyes never leaving his. Ningning groaned, a waving hand in dismissal
"Can you guys *please* not flirt at my party? Save it for the ride home"
You turned around, an unreadable expression as you glanced at Heeseung. He blinked as if he was asking you a question with his eyes, one you answered with an annoyed eye roll. "Looks like there's some catching up to do"
Ningning's eyes rose in realization, mouth forming an 'o' as she slowly nodded. "I guess I never told you, did I?"
"Let's not talk about it right now! It's so embarrassing" Yunjin had a shy smile, staring down at her cup with a finger circling the rim.
Your eyes never left Heeseungs, a passive-aggressive smile stabbing daggers into him. "A *lot* of catching up."
you let go of his wrists, waving a short bye before signaling to the bathroom. As if Heeseung was in a trance, he watched dumbly before walking after you wordlessly. He resembled a puppy as he mindlessly followed wherever you went, waiting outside the restroom with an awkward lean against the wall.
When you exited, your eyes widened with another unreadable expression. You had since stopped your motion of rubbing the excess water onto your skirt, arms crossing as though you were about to say some snarky remark to Heeseung. He cleared his throat, trying his damn best to fake nonchalance. The one question popping in his head over and over: What would Jake do?
"Didn't notice you there" You snorted, face visibly relaxing. "You didn't?"
His demeanor faltered, hands combing through his hair as Heeseung longingly glanced away. "Nah."
You took a wide step to the left, using your hands to gesture to the room behind you. He blinked, unsure of what your body language is implying.
"If you're not here for me, you need to use the bathroom." Heeseung eyes slightly widened, his eyebrows jerking upward before it falls back to his neutral expression. Your eyes crinkle as you smile, stepping back in front of him. "You're the exact same dork you were when I last saw you."
He couldn't mask his expression this time, his eyebrows furrowing in worry and his eyes now losing focus.
There's no way he was the same person. That's not possible, not when everyone treats him so differently. He must have changed drastically if he went from being bullied to having a best friend in a fraternity.
"I am?" You nod, your hard expression softening into a chuckle.
"I can still read you like a book."
"You can?"
"You've never been good at hiding secrets anyways, but you did the thing you always do when you're caught in a lie"
His mouth falls open, the defensive mode automatically kicking in for him. "I don't do anything when I lie" The teenage angst was about to take over until Heeseungs parted mouth closed, realizing what had just happened within his brain.
Fuck, maybe he hasn't changed.
You mimick the eyebrow flicking, your eyes widening and your eyebrows quirking up like a twitch.
"Is that you trying to hit on me?"
"Were *you* trying to hit on *me* when you did it?" You both blink for a moment, the pause only catapulting the two of you into a fit of laughter.

My personal rating and ranking of Luffy's father figures from worst to best
7) Garp (-100000/10)
Yeah, I don't even need to elaborate on this at all. Cause like... we all know how much Garp sucks. We all know how he valued his job and loyalty to the marines more than the actual safety of his family. How he says that he cares... but he truly doesn't do anything at all. AND THAT'S BARELY SCRATCHING THE SURFACE!!! Because in all of Luffy's childhood... I don't think there was a single moment where he was just... kind? Canonically at least. It was always launching your 3 year old in the jungle, in a ravine, in the fucking air tied to baloons just so you can fuck off and do what YOU want. It was awlays ignoring every single one of his dreams. And not only that because while thinking that a life as a pirate isn't ideal is fair, forcing your own phisosophies on your kid and forcefully msking them choose the carrer YOU want isn't. No wonder Dragon is the way he is! And he made Luffy's abbandonment issues WORSE by leaving him in another random place with other random people. And this is only the stuff we saw about Garp... we never saw a house where he lived in any flashback. Did Garp stay in the marine's headquarters? Did Luffy fucking sleep outside in the forest? Luffy looked so exited when Makino got him a shirt. Did Garp never get Luffy clothes? Did he just used random rags he had laying around? When Luffy only got a bowl of rice and a cup of water to eat he said that it was better than what Garp gave him. Did he fucking starve Luffy by making him hunt for all he ever ate since he was a fucking toddler? IS THAT WHY LUFFY IS HALF OF GARP'S SIZE???
But worst of all... he was never there! Not when he got kidnapped, not when they almost burned him alive, not when Ace died, and he never will.
Garp truly did not care enough. And that is what hurts the most.
I'm removing all of his ppint and shoving him into the void.
6) Shanks (6.5/10)
Okay so I'm a little conflicted about Shanks. He has many good things about him. He inspired Luffy and supported his dream, and has shown to be very caring and affectionate. He taught him that some fights are not worth it and that he shouldn't be too hung up on certain things. That's good. But he also indirectely caused him to commit self harm, took a crying bleeding 7 year old in a bar full of alchool, lied to him about what happenned to his best friend, and then he just... dissappeared. I don't fully blame him since he isn't Luffy's primary caretaker, that was GARP and Shanks is already infinitely better since he supported his dream. But Shanks does have this theme where he is bad at communication and doesn't fully commit to certain things. We saw it with Buggy. But hey, at least he gave Luffy that really good advice that its okay to cry but you have to move on. Expect that he never said it directely to his face (or out loud for what matters) and he was only at marineford for 30 seconds.
Tumblr media
I'm removing one ppint for him being an idiot, another for abbandonment, and another and a half points for general flaws.
5) Dragon (7/10)
I think people tend to be a bit too hard on Dragon. He was starting a revolution, of course he couldn't have taken care of him for his own safety. And he sadly had no other choice so sadly GARP raised Luffy. I can't rate him any higher tho because we just never really saw him parent Luffy... apart from that one time when he saved him, but then he dissappeared. Still can't believe he raised Sabo instead of him honestly.
I'll remove one point for abbandonment, another point for giving him to his father and a last one for bad eyebrows and bigass forehead genes.
4) Crocodile (adding him because I said so) (7.5/10)
All things considered, Croc didn't exatcly have the best starting point. (He arguably had the worst) But he was 100% one of the most helpful people to Luffy during marineford.
Tumblr media
Not only did he save Ace despide hating Whitebeard, but he also blocked Doflamingo's attack and helped him break out. HE WAS MORE HELPFUL THAT GARP GODDAMMIT!!! So maybe Croc's heart isn't exatcly in the right place... but he seems to do much better now.
I'm removing one point for abbandonment and one and a half points for almost killing him.
3) Franky (8.5/10)
Much like croc, Franky didn't have the best start with Luffy, and we don't really see much of just the two of them since he is closer with Usopp, but the few scenes they have togheter paint a pretty good picture. Firstly both Luffy and Franky share an interents in stuff like beams and robots, and Franky is willing to show off for him so in return Luffy does admire this side of him. Franky also tries to avoid toxic masculinity, and never forces Luffy into anything while supporting him unlike GARP. In Dressrosa Franky really looked after and accompanied Luffy to assist him in retrieving Ace's fruit, which Franky understands was very hard for him. He is rensponsable and doesn't let Luffy do anything stupid (like revealing his name) and later that arc there's that one super cute scene where Luffy is just sleeping and Franky is there looking at him while smiling/crying and...
Tumblr media
Look at him!!! He's so dad material!!!
Removing one point for hurting Usopp and half a point for mildly enabaling him.
2) Rayleigh (9/10)
Like many others, Rayleigh was also very helpful during the summit war saga, specifically the post war arc. He was with Luffy during his worst time and helped him get through them. Not only that, but he also trained him. Execpt that unlike GARP who would just launch Luffy into a ravine and exept him to get out by himself so he can leave and fuck off where he wants, Rayleigh stuck around and not only gave him useful advice and lessons, but also prevented him from doing things that would have hurt his body like using to much haki. It didn't work but still, he mastered the art of being hard but still very much caring and being present. Plus it was so heart warming seeing him helping Luffy and how much he reminds him of Roger.... Uncle Rayray I love you!!! Give me your wife!!!
Removing one point for... lack of screentime? I guess, I'm not sure.
1) Jimbei (15/10)
We all know that fishdad is the best period, but I really wanna analize him. Jimbei was possibly the one who helped Luffy the most when he came to... everything? I mean he saved him from Akainu, stood by his side when he was still unconscious from his operation, stopped him from committing self harm or worse, comforted him trough his grief and tears, gave him his blood thus saving his life and showing just how much he loved him, offrred to guide him in accomplishing his dream, came back each and every time he was needed, because Luffy needs somebody like him that can ground him and make him reflect but also respect and love him, he believed in Luffy so much to go againsts a Yonko TWICE, and one of these times it was literally a face to face with the scariest person on Earth.
But the best part? Jimbei truly cares about all the young. The new generation that should be hate free and happy. The new generation he fought for multiple times. He knows Luffy can be a major figure in that, but he also just cares for him. He loves Luffy. Unconditionally. I know I may be repeating myself but he is 100% what Luffy needed when he needed it. And I will not shut up about this. Ever.
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Trademark dad hawaian shirt.
Adding 5 point for being handsome.

Headcanons for the Roger Pirates
The Roger Pirates as a whole
Pretty goofy people and quite chaotic group of misfits.
You know damn right that why Shanks and Buggy party so much is because of the Roger Pirates. (Especially Roger)
Had harder time watching over those gremlin-like balls of chaos (a.k.a. children) than fighting most foes.
They all helped raised Buggy and Shanks at some point. If they were there when Shanks and Buggy came aboard. Most of them are like Uncles and Aunts to Buggy and Shanks.
Gol D. Roger
Bisexual energy or Pansexual energy or hell both vibes
The only way he can comfort somebody is if he keeps his mouth shut. Usually trying to comfort somebody with words makes everything worse. Example: Buggy.
This man would sleep with only boxers or nothing at all, which is unfortunate when someone decides to attack the Roger Pirates when Roger was sleeping. Cause this man would jump into battle with a second thought. He'll be like, "Welp they couldn't of attack when I was sleeping" Roger is shameless, cuz he doesn't care.
That comes into this is that I totally seeing him getting drunk and losing his clothes. Waking up with a hangover, walking through town without a care in the fucking world. To the dismay of Rayleigh and many of the Roger Pirates.
Roger is a man-child, and that should be a fact in life. This man would rather stare a wall, making weird faces, alongside Shanks than do the captain things of taking care of pricing and just things captains do that's not his type of fun.
There's a lot of similarities with Roger and Luffy, but one thing that's different is that Luffy doesn't think. Roger does, but decides to do that crazy thing anyway, because why the fuck not
Silvers Rayleigh
Straight energy but seems to have platonic relationship with Roger and Gaban like 'Buggy Daddies' Rei and Kazuki.
Rayleigh has many pairs of glasses for the reason of his captain. From the crazy fights he wants to fight and the crazy islands he wants to go to. Rayleigh learned early on that he needs a lot of glasses. Even now that he's retired, he still has another pair of glasses with him. Shakky got him down to five instead of ten.
Rayleigh sometimes just swims for no rest but to destress, which stresses Gaban out because it leaves him in charge of their captain. Which isn't a thing at anyone wants to do. Expect for Shanks and Buggy wanting to be "responsibility", but everyone knows they would all just cause chaos together.
Scopper Gaban
Gay energy, and the reason for one of the unofficial mottos of the Red-Haired Pirates 'Smashed as many brewskis as you can in under a minute. Then try your best not to blackout and just start walking in a straight line, whoever is the best at all wins'
One of the only people in the Roger Pirates that have a sound mind or a person that is sensible and has common sense (alongside Rayleigh and few other people) But of course he has his moments as being as crazy as Roger, this goes as well with Rayleigh.
He was the one that had to always change Buggy and Shanks diapers, when it was just Roger, Rayleigh, him, and the kids. Hell, even with the other Roger Pirates, would try their best to nope out.

Hello,
I found your takes very interesting and I would love to discuss them a big more.
Your analysis of the Shanksbuggy break up is really great based on what we have (Buggy pov of what happened) but I also want to add that they are teenagers that just saw one of the most important person in their eyes died. Obviously they're not in the best position to have a very clear discussion about future and it's even worse if you add to the mix the tendency of Buggy to jump to conclusion and the love of mystery of Shanks. And I also think in a way it a discussion about grief and mourning and how different people have different reaction to it.
I also have some hypothesis about why they changed their opinion about separating each other because they don't have the same dream.
- The first one is what happened quickly after their discussion: Buggy eating the devil fruit. The fact this incident is what Buggy uses as an excuse to explain his hatred of Shanks is obviously now a lie to himself but there is probably a part of true in that this incident changed their relationship and makes them more codependent due to Buggy's inability to swim while living on a boat. There is also probably a discussion to have with the quite weird relationship of Roger's crew and devil fruit (The fact that no one except Buggy have one).
- The second one is the circonstances of them leaving the crew. When discussing their plan, they speak about Leaving the crew and building something in a way which is very similar to a child leaving their parents house to go study or work. It's an active decision. (Even if Buggy's action at the time is closer to a teenager running away than a future adult 😅). But that's not what happened in the end, their departure from the ship is a decision which is forced on them and with quite a traumatic end. It willmakes sense then that they stick to each other.
- The third hypothesis is that they become teenagers and they went from best friends to lovers.
(Sorry I did end up writing a lot) 😅
hello! don't apologize for writing a lot, i am a big fan of writing a lot myself! …as you’ll see in this post. >>;
and you're very right, these are good points to bring up that i haven’t really gotten into before. grief, and the ways their circumstances changed (or might have changed—as you’ll see, i’m not totally convinced about one of your hypotheticals) after that first conversation. let's get into it!
grief.
the context for their fight, and the grief they must be feeling in that moment, is definitely worth taking into consideration. there's something of a truism that you shouldn't make big decisions in the first six months to a year after suffering the loss of a loved one, because during that early mourning period you simply aren't thinking clearly. you may make hasty, impulsive decisions that you'll regret later, or the additional stress of attempting to take action while emotionally burdened will cause things to go wrong. it's better, we tend to agree, to wait.
if buggy is asking shanks to go to laugh tale right now, that’s a textbook hasty decision, and one likely to go poorly if acted on. (i’ve stated my opinion to the contrary in tags before, but that is just my opinion.) and buggy’s rejection of shanks’ offer also seems impulsively made! a knee-jerk reaction to getting an unexpected response, that could also be the influence of grief though buggy is pretty impulsive in general so who knows.
in contrast, shanks deciding not to go to laugh tale ‘for now’ can be seen as recognition that it would be better, smarter, to wait.
at this point, i’d like to point out that we don’t know what life was like for buggy and shanks between dropping oden off at wano and this conversation in roguetown. as far as we know, nothing of significance happened after the roger pirates disbanded—emphasis on as far as we know. we don’t even know if buggy and shanks spent those months together, or if they met by chance at roger’s execution!
all that to say: we don’t know what the status quo for these two looks like in this moment. is shanks asking buggy to come with him asking him to stay together, to continue as they have been, or is this yet another impulsive decision? are they both trying to take action too quickly?
i think this was definitely a bad time to be discussing these topics—but there might not have been another time available to them. we know there were a lot of pirates in roguetown that day—and a lot of marines, too. there may have been an urgency to this moment that we can’t appreciate right now, with the information we have.
changing circumstances 1: the chop-chop fruit.
i used to think it was curious that buggy was the only devil fruit user on the roger pirate crew, until i remembered what other crews around at the time were like. specifically:
whitebeard, himself a devil fruit user, is all about embracing weird outcast types and bringing them into his crew (and his family). so to people who were already devil fruit users, who consider becoming pirates because they’ve been shunned and cast out of their home and society, whitebeard’s gotta be the go-to guy. he already knows what it’s like! he must have extra measures in place to keep his sons from falling overboard! you’ll be safe with him!
kaidou, also a devil fruit user, loves getting devil fruit users in his crew. he’s not as friendly or paternal a captain, but if you aren’t interested in that energy—if you got yourself a devil fruit for power’s sake but found the downsides made it hard to be on your own—he’s a good option.
basically, i think most people who went into piracy in those days already in possession of devil fruit powers found themselves drawn to captains who had one too—understandably so, in my opinion. a ship where no one has a devil fruit, would they know how to look out for you? for all you know, they’re one of those superstitious crews who take the “ocean’s curse” line seriously! better to stick with someone you know has devil fruit experience.
buggy’s one of the uncommon few to eat a devil fruit after becoming a pirate. that whole crew was offered the opportunity to eat the thing, and he was the only one who dared—because the rest knew that it was a risky move at best, especially with an unknown fruit. the power you get might not be worth the cost, especially for someone who makes their living on the sea.
we forget this, i think because there’s so many devil fruit users in one piece, but devil fruits are hard to come by! we’re seeing a small sliver of the population who managed to get their hands on one and then managed to survive the downsides. that the roger pirates ever found one was a rare thing. they didn’t even know for sure if it was real when buggy ate it!
all this to say, i don’t know that i believe the chop-chop fruit changes much about the shanks-buggy dynamic, except in the “he betrayed me!!” angle it brings to buggy’s future grudge against him. (not that i think this is what buggy considers to be shanks’ real betrayal. it’s just the one he can talk about without revealing his roger pirate history.) so buggy can’t swim anymore! so what?! neither can whitebeard! shanks, you better not look down on me for this!! etc, etc.
now, how much of that would just be talk from buggy? (i.e., claiming ‘you better not look down on me, i don’t need your help’ but clinging to shanks’ arm the second a wave looks like it might crash over the deck?) probably a fair amount! but i don’t think that’s a significant change in behavior from buggy, his words and actions often disagree.
changing circumstances 2: roger pirates disbanded.
it is one thing to boldly claim as a child that you’re going to be a great pirate captain, and quite another to actually do it. it probably helps to spend years on a great pirate captain’s ship, to see how he does it, to eventually start to wonder to yourself, would i do it that way, if it were me in charge? but even then, when you’ve been quietly thinking about it, maybe announcing your intentions a few times, setting aside the most important things to take with you on the day when you finally leave, on the day when you’ll finally feel ready to leave—
all that is very different from being told that everyone is leaving. that you don’t have a choice about when to go. that there will be nowhere and no one to return to if it turns out you weren’t ready to be on your own after all.
as i mentioned earlier, we don’t know what the time after the roger pirates disbanded was like for shanks and buggy. were they relying on the kindness of near-strangers, people who half-remembered them as members of roger’s crew from their first trip through the GL? were they lucky enough to be the last ones let go, at a trusted island in that early part of paradise? did shanks have enough understanding of conqueror’s haki at that age to get his ship through the calm belt when the news about roger’s arrest went out, or did a ship traveling into east blue end up with a stowaway or two?
any way you look at it, i have to imagine being a teenager alone (or nearly alone) on the grand line must have been terrifying. who wouldn’t think back on childhood dreams of independence and wince at that poor child, who didn’t know how good they had it? after going it alone against your will, who wouldn’t cling to a familiar face?
circumstances change 3: relationship upgrade.
kind of in line with the above: after being thrown into the world alone, unexpectedly, who wouldn’t cling to a familiar face? or… more than cling? 😉 but seriously, i’m a bit of a pessimist about this hypothesis. i think it can make sense, it just also makes me sad.
because if shanks wants buggy to come with him because they’re romantically involved, i think that would make buggy less certain of his place in shanks’ life. crew is crew forever! even when you leave the ship, you’re still a part of its crew deep down. a kissing relationship, though… that can go away easy as the wind. if shanks wants him around to kiss, what happens if they stop kissing? does shanks stop wanting him around?
but also: does buggy want to be around shanks, if he only wants buggy around to kiss? isn’t buggy a pirate worthy of shanks’ respect?! didn’t he grow up on the same ship, learning the same lessons? why shouldn’t he be captain of his own ship?! why is he even kissing this idiot in the first place?!!
of course, shanks doesn’t mean it to come across this way. when he asks a buggy he’s involved with to come with him, he means that he loves buggy and would miss him if they weren’t on the same ship. but you know how buggy always hears the worst possible meaning to any sentence spoken to him.

Hello sweetheart 😘 Please tell me everything you love about Iruma-Kun or Yun (I know you love them both 😏)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
*looks at inbox and screams* AHHHHHHHHHH
AHHH
*deep breath*
Ok.
Ok.
Lesse here...
What I Love About Iruma
This bean grew up with one of the worst lives -- his parents took advantage of his kindness and willingness, and made him do EVERY chore like a slave.. not only that... But they chose not to have jobs and have him work to provide for the family?!?!? A little boy?!?!?! And then. To top it off. After ALL HE FLIPPING DID FOR THEM THEY SOLD HIS LIFE AWAY TO A FRICKIN' DEMON?!?!?! WHO ARE THESE FART NUGGET PARENTS?!?!?! But anywayyyssss, despite all of this trash that's been thrown his way, he's still the most good hearted, genuine, innocent boy that ever did exist 🥰🥰🥰
When Azz picked a fight with Iru and almost injured himself AND Eiko, Iru saved him. HIS BULLY. HE SAVED THE GUY WHO PICKED A FIGHT WITH HIM.
Azz then committed allegiance as a bodyguard/servant type deal, and treats him like a king -- but Iru hasn't once used that to his advantage (only for moments when he wants to save other demons). He's never let it go to his head, and has never even thought of Azz as his "help" only his "friend"
When he met Clara -- the "weird" girl who was only ever taken advantage of -- he still chose to play with her, even though it tuckered him out
When Clara offered snacks and anything else Iruma could ever imagine, he felt guilty, and refused them, and told Clara he only wanted to play with her 🥺
Sullivan spoils Iru beyond compare, and yet he's still such a good, humble, and grateful boy
His smile is the cutest most genuine ray of light, and I never want it taken from him
He has a giant appetite, and for some reason, I find it super comedic, and SUPER PRECIOUS NGHGGGGGGGGHHH 🥺🥺🥺
He's also oblivious to the fact that Azz, Clara, Keroli, Ameri, and Eiko are all in love with him 😆
He sees the best in everyone -- even Kiriwo -- the demon who tried to explode everyone in the school 🫠
He has the most adorable gestures like... When he was so happy he had a new friend he was smiling from ear to ear twiddling his feet in his bed 😩
He always looks adorable, but when he ties his hair back I can't 😩 so handsome so handsome. His ponytail "slays me" as Azz would say 😆
He has a good attitude about everything
He finds a way to befriend everyone so preciously 🥺🥺🥺
He used to draw shoujo manga 👌🏻
I could keep going on with scenarios that made me love the boy even more, but you can see that they're all along the same lines: ahem, so, in summary, Iruma is a selfless, innocent, benevolent, hard-working, fun-loving, adorable cinnamon roll who deserves EVERYTHING he's receiving in the Netherworld -- even the Demon King's throne -- which we all know, is gonna happen 🙃
What I Love About Yun
Yun grew up in an even worse situation than Iru 🥺☹️😔 no idea what happened to his parents... Maybe they died from starvation? (I have a feeling y'all are gonna tell me what happened to them in the comments lol). Anyways, this poor baby had to fend for himself in a starving town with anyone ready to shank anyone. This baby had to toughen up and try to be able to shank people himself just so he could find any means in helping him survive ☹️😔 but when that moment came and Ik-su showed and he knocked him out, and he had nothing, he could have left him to die, but baby Yun treated all his wounds AND didn't want him to find out?!?! Guys. We see Yun's TRUE nature right there. He loves and cares for all, but tries to play tough and act like he doesn't gahhhhhhhh. That's what I love and admire most about him
He's just a precious bean even though he puts on a bold front
His cockiness cracks me up. CRACKS ME UP. idk why 🤷🏼‍♀️
I just find it absolutely adorable that Yun had this fascination and love for books from a young age, and was determined to find all the books, and gain all the knowledge to be able to do anything he set his mind to. And when Ik-su found him a bunch of books -- he did just that 🥰
Yun is just absolutely amazing -- yes the dragons have their powers, and for some reason Hak is inhumanly strong and fast 🤣🤣🤣 but Yun can do LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE the others can't. THAT'S A LOT.
I find it insanely attractive that a boy is confident in his "pretty" side, and that he can cook and clean, you know? Stereotypical girl stuff. But he OWNS IT. YUS.
The feather in his hair 👌🏻 yes please. Yes.
His blushes 👌🏻
I LOVED WHEN YONA CAME BACK FROM THE SENJOU HERB TEST AND HE WAS THE FIRST TO RUN AND HUG HER HE WAS SO FLIPPING WORRIED. YUN WORRIES AND LOVES HARD.
I love that even though he's always said he wanted to travel, he chose to stay in the middle of nowhere to take care of Ik-su -- his best friend and parental figure
Yun sees his own faults, and tries to better himself
I love that he's constantly trying to figure out life's mysteries and how things work. He's constantly trying to gain new knowledge. Asking others to teach him how to do things.
I love how he can do something once someone has taught him -- perfectly ☺️
I love how he's the youngest in the group, but the most sensible and mature mhmm
Whenever he gets excited about something he is so soooo cuuuuute
I love everything about Yun ❤️ mhmm
Welp, there you have it, you asked for both, you asked for everything, that probably wasn't everything, but you probably got more than you expected... Maybe.🤣😆👍
TYSM for asking @angrypaperearthquake ☺️❤️ dis made me very happy

"You know, I'm starting to get the feeling that dad' avoiding us.", Five said as he Lila, Diego and Nailah watched Reginald's car drive away.
"Hate to be the boring one guys, but it's time to get. the hell out of here.", Lila said seeing security slowly show up.
"When you say 'we' who exactly are you referring to?", Five asked with a biting tone.
Nailah shot Five a warning look but he ignored her.
"Not a lot of ambiguity in that sentence.", Lila scoffed.
"Listen, I don't know who you are but where you came from, but whatever it is, I advise you to return posthaste.", Five spat at Lila with a dangerous spark in his eyes.
"She's right, Five. We need to get out of here.", Diego tried to intervene.
"I just saved your life you kinder-shit.", Lila said offended at Five's accusations. "If I hadn't stepped in all that would be left of you is that pretty suit your girlfriend bought you."
Five scoffed: "And that's the problem. You're too good. You ask too many questions. You know too much. And you fight like you know what you're doing."
"Five.", Nailah warned.
"No, no. He's got a point.", Diego agreed.
"So I know how to handle myself, and that makes me the bad guy?", Lila asked offended.
"Whoever you are, you're in my way. If I see you again I will kill you.", Five announced.
Nailah walked away annoyed at Five's carelessness muttering something about God testing her. Five's judging gaze lingered a moment longer on Lila then he followed his sister.
Even though Nailah was short she made huge steps and Five had to jog lightly to catch up to her.
"Why are you mad?", he asked confused.
"Seriously, Five? I told you mere hours ago: control yourself and don't give out too much information. And what do you do? You just revealed your greatest advantage, that you don't trust her."
"So? Now she's out of my way."
"Oh my God, Five. This is literally the most rookie mistake you can make. I really expected more form the apparently best assassin in the whole timeline.", Nailah scoffed.
Back at Elliott's house where Luther was making a gigantic pan of eggs Diego kept muttering: "No, no, no I don't understand. They keep following me."
"Who?", Luther asked.
"Those Dutch psychopaths."
"They're Swedish you idiot.", Five corrected leaning against the doorframe with his hands in his pockets. "Hired guns paid to eradicate us before we do any more damage to this timeline."
"Great. Why don't you call them and tell them we're here? Sine you like to eradicate any scrape of our advantage.", Nailah commented venomously pouring herself a cup of coffee. Five followed her figure but kept his lips pressed in a fine line. Nailah hummed in satisfaction.
"Yeah, but why now?  I mean I was fine for three, four months before you showed up.", Diego snapped his fingers in frustration while ignoring Nailah's comments.
"Yeah, I was here for a year and no one messed with me.", Luther agreed.
"Same here. Quite like a grave.", Nailah added taking a sip from her coffee.
Five inhaled annoyed: "Even if it was my fault, which it isn't, we only have six days before the end of the world, and the closest we've gotten to dad was that driveway at the consulate."
"Well, that's not entirely true...", Luther admitted. He explained to his siblings how right after he had arrived in Dallas he began saving money and as soon as he had enough he travelled to their family home. He found Reginald hosting parties and with a raging hatred for children. Apparently he insulted Luther and threw him out.
"That's pathetic.", Diego commented at the end of the story.
"Yeah, well at least he didn't shank my ass.", Luther bit back shovelling his scrambled eggs into his mouth. Nailah shuddered at the sight. She hated eggs with passion.
"No, bro. he shanked your heart. That's way worse.", Nailah said taking another sip of her coffee.
"God morning, Nailah. You look... nice.", Elliott said. Nailah threw him a confused smile. "Is that my bathrobe?", Elliott asked from the doorway looking at the garment Luther had put on. "No?", Luther tried.
"Look, who cares what he shanked? He knows something about time travel.", Five said.
"Wait, why don't you just do your thing and time travel us out?", Elliott asked raising his hand.
"Anyone care to explain?", Five asked pacing around the room.
"First time he tried he got lost in the apocalypse. Second time he ended up as the 13-year old self, which I aged up, without getting any gratitude might I add. And the third time he tried our whole family ended up scattered across 3 years in Dallas.", Nailah explained.
"Possibly triggering doomsday.", Five added.
"Oh. You aged him up?", Elliott asked.
Nailah shrugged: "Yeah. He's not the only smart one."
"Of course not. That's not what I was implying. I mean I knew you were smart, I just thinks it's impressive for you...", Elliott started to stutter.
Five interrupted him annoyed: "She gets it, Elliott."
Nailah shot Five an irritated glare: "I can speak for myself, Five. Thank you Elliott. It's nice to be appreciated.", The last part was again directed at Five accompanied by an expressive look.
"You're missing the big picture. Dad is the ringleader of a sinister cabal that's planning to kill the president.", Diego interrupted before Five could say something back.
"What?", Luther asked in between bites.
"Ignore him.", Five sighed. "Look, the way I see it we only have one option."
"Oh yeah? And what is that?", Luther scoffed.
"It's time to get the umbrella academy back together.", Five announced.
"Family meeting. Yay.", Nailah said dryly picking up an orange from the counter.
"Okay then, can one of you get Allison please?", Luther asked shoving even bigger bites of scrambled eggs from the seemingly never-ending portion.
"You two still a thing?", Diego asked with a knowing smirk.
Luther crooked his head. Diego leaned forward: "Do we need to talk."
"No, she's married.", Luther mumbled.
Nailah choked on her coffee: "What?"
"Whoa, dude. That's rough.", Diego commented.
Luther send him an ironic smile: "I can handle it."
Nailah wiped the coffee off her chin muttering: "How does she get a husband in every single timeline and I can't even get a date?"
Elliott began stammering again but before he could form any word he got interrupted by Five: "Don't even think about it Elliott. I'll go get Allison."
"Can you get Vanya without ehh, squeezing her to death?", Five threw at Luther walking past him while ignoring the sceptical look from Nailah.
"I'll try.", Luther answered dryly and Five blitzed away.
"What should I do?", Elliott asked clearly hoping for a green signal from the other Hargeeves brothers.
"Prepare for company.", Diego smiled. "Oh and listen to Five. Nailah's off limits."
Nailah scoffed but smiled lightly. She had missed the protectiveness of her siblings a slightest bit.
"Y'all know, jell-o used to be delicacy. You know, in order to make it you gotta boil down a whole mess of hooves, you know horses, cows, pigs, it doesn't matter. But not everybody just has a mess of hooves laying around. It wasn't until a couple of sassy New Yorkers figured out how to dry it out so the rest of us could have a chance to enjoy this ambrosia.", Elliott explained excitedly pointing at the colourful tray of jello-o in front of them on the table.
Luther had brought Vanya without triggering her powers and she was now sprawled on the couch with a bored expression.
"if we have some, will you shut up?", Diego asked dryly.
"Maybe. Here. Nailah?", Elliott handed the disgusting looking food to Nailah.
"Thank you, Elliott, but I'm vegan.", she said trying to hide her disgusted face.
Diego scoffed: "Since when? I saw you yesterday devour a whole salami."
Nailah looked at him with venom in her eyes: "Since this morning."
"Oh, okay. Sorry.", Elliott said and handed the bowl to Luther who being Luther just accepted and began eating.
"How you feeling?", Luther asked Vanya.
"Pretty shitty, to be honest."
"Where would you say you are on a scale from one to ending all life on this planet?", Diego asked flicking his knives.
"Really? That's what you chose to go with?", Nailah scoffed.
"Diego, put the knife away, you idiot. She's fine.", Luther hissed.
"The last time I saw this one she had me suspended mid-air sucking the life out of me with energy tentacles. I think I'm allowed a little time to process.", Diego pointed the knife at Luther.
Nailah fished it out of Diego's hand as Elliott intercepted: "I would love to see an energy tentacle."
"Shut up, Elliott.", Nailah, Diego and Luther said in a chorus.
"Look, I don't remember what I did but I'm sorry. If it means anything.", Vanya said silently.
"It does.", Diego smiled at her lightly. "Just going through a lot right now."
"Oh my God.", Nailah mumbled leaning her head on her fist.
"If you don't care you can just go.", Diego shot her an angry look.
"Oh, I care. You just chose the perfect moment. But go on.", she bit back.
"There's this girl that I like.", Diego continued. "I though she liked me but it turns out she just.."
Diego got interrupted by a knock on the front door. "Oh thank God.", Luther sighed quickly standing up.
The group stood on the balcony watching Allison and Klaus enter the building after Five. Both were completely drunk and kept mumbling word about death in French.
"Oh wow. I know this is impossible but did we all get sexier?", Klaus lulled taking off his sunglasses.
For a moment the siblings looked at each other. Klaus was maybe right. Diego had grown out his hair, which was a pretty daring change, Luther had finally found clothes that looked good on him, Vanya as well. And Nailah, well she'd always loved fashion and knew how to present herself.
Five's gaze flew over his siblings and with slight satisfaction he had to admit that Klaus indeed was right. His eyes stammered for a longer second on Nailah's wild curls covering her face. The 60s makeup and style suited her even though Five knew she absolutely hated the pants and blouses.
Diego chuckled lightly seeing Klaus and Nailah send Allison an air-kiss just as they had done when they were kids. "Vanya.", Allison sighed.
"I can't believe I have another sister.", Vanya chuckled walking down the stairs to hug Allison. Nailah followed and after nodding as a response Allison's questioning look, Allison hugged Vanya back.
"Oh you are drunk.", Diego scoffed smelling Klaus' breath.
"Yeah no, just a little, a few..", Klaus stammered and giggled. "Oh that's so sweet.", he grabbed his heart seeing Allison and Vanya hug. He wrapped his arms around them and waved for Nailah to join.
"Klaus. Is Ben here?", Five asked.
"Oh, no. No, unfortunately ghosts can't time travel.", Klaus stretched his back. Nailah narrowed her eyes and crooked her head not really believing.
"All right then. Let's get down to business.", Five announced not reacting to Nailah's questioning look.
"Alright, first off I wanna say I'm sorry.", Five began as soon as everyone had found a seat in the living room area at Elliott's. "I know I really screwed the pooch on this whole going-back-in-time-and-getting-stuck thing. But the real kick in the pants here is we brought the end of the world back with us."
"Oh my God, again?", Klaus explained pouring himself and Nailah a rather full glass of whiskey.
When he saw all the not surprised faces he sighed: "All of you knew? Why am I always the last one to find out about the end of the ... Oh my God! My cult is gonna be so pissed, Five! I told them we had until 2019."
"We have until Monday. Six days.", Five announced unphased.
"Is it Vanya?", Klaus asked taking a sip.
"Klaus!", Allison exclaimed.
"Well, it is usually Vanya. No offence.", Nailah agreed taking her glass from Klaus.
"None taken.", Vanya smiled at Nailah. "Do you have any leads,  Five?"
"Only one.", Diego handed Five a file with the picture of Reginald Hargreeves on the grassy knoll.
"Diego, Nailah and I have been trying to talk to dad about what exactly this means. So far we've got nothing.", Five explained.
"Not nothing.", Diego intercepted to which Nailah groaned. "He's planning to kill Kennedy."
"Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Really not important.", Nailah said in a sing-songy voice and took another great gulp from her glass.
Before Diego could answer Five interfered: "We don't know who or what sets doomsday in motion. Could be Kennedy, could be something entirely independent. But if we know something changes the timeline we have to make it right."
"Yeah but how if we don't know what's broken?", Allison asked.
"Come on. Do the math. We know dad's having some shady-ass meetings with some shady-ass people. We know. he's on the grassy knoll in three days to kill the president. So I think we all. know what we have to do."
"Kill dad." "Find dad.", Diego and Five said at the same time and looked at each other confused. Nailah chuckled and Allison raised her eyebrows.
"None of us are supposed to be here right?", Vanya asked. "I mean what if it's us?  Has anyone here done anything to screw up the timeline?"
Klaus shook his head, Nailah crooked hers with her lips in a fine line, Diego stared at the carpet, Allison poured herself more vodka and Luther raised his eyebrows. Five sighed heavily and rubbed his temples.
"Diego's been stalking Lee Harvey Oswald.", Luther admitted.
"You're working for Jack Ruby! And Nailah's an assassin!", Diego defended himself.
"Hey! I've never killed anyone important enough to mess with the timeline! You wanted to change the whole history!", Nailah send the accusation back to Diego.
"Allison's been very involved in local politics.", Klaus said.
"Okay, you started a cult.", she shot right back. Klaus growled at her and hissed.
"I'm just a nanny on a farm. I don't have anything to do with all that.", Vanya said.
"Well, maybe you do we just don't know it yet.", Allison said.
"Yeah, for someone who just ended the world your life seems awfully... quiet.", Nailah added.
Diego whistled sharply making his siblings look in his direction: "Listen to yourselves. Everything in our new life is. connected to Kennedy. That can't be a coincidence. Luther works for Ruby, Allison's protesting against the government, Nailah's an assassin, dad on the grassy knoll, Klaus is... doing something weird and perky but probably related. See clearly we were all send here for one special reason: saving John Fitzgerald Kennedy."
Nailah laughed frantically at that while the rest of the siblings began arguing. Five just stood there with a concentrated look on his face.
"Guys, you all die.", Five admitted silently. "I was there, I saw it. And I wanna forget it but I can't. I saw Russian nukes vaporise the world with all of you in it in a war that never happened until we brought it here. And Hazel gave his life to save us, so you may need. to shut up and listen to me. I don't know if the things we've experienced here are all connected. I don't know if there's a reason for everything. But dad will. We need to talk to him before everyone and everything we know is dead."
"Okay, I'm out.", Luther said and just left the room.
"Did you even hear me, Luther?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I did. I heard a 58-year old man who still wants his daddy to come and fix everything. Well, you can. count me out. It's time we all. grew the hell up."
Diego immediately followed him with Nailah not far behind. "Save it, Diego.", Luther snapped at them.
Five blitzed away and appeared before Luther on the stairs. "No one leaves until we figure this out.", he announced.
Luther sighed and just threw Five over the railing. Five blitzed away before he could hit the ground.
"Luther!", Nailah exclaimed sliding on the railing and waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. "What was that?"
"Oh come on. He had it coming."
Nailah shrugged: "Fair enough."
"Where has all that heroism gone, big guy?", she asked.
"Well, I think I've left it back in 2019.", he answered.
"Come on, Luther. You can't just leave like that. We need you."
"I don't care, Nai."
Nailah let out a sigh. "Don't worry, I'll handle it.", Diego placed a hand on her shoulder and followed Luther.
Before Nailah could return upstairs she spotted Lila running down the street in red doc martens. Not soon after she saw Five follow. Without thinking much Nailah decided to follow them.
Nailah had been following Five who had been following Lila for over an hour. Finally Lila stopped at an old paintshop. She smashed the window of the door with a piece of wood and entered the industry part of the abandoned building. Five was quick to follow and blitzed inside. Nailah quietly opened the door and pressed herself against the wall. She peeked slightly into the corridor to see Five appears before Lila.
"What's your game, crazy lady?", he asked putting his hands in his pockets.
"Who cares? You said if you saw me again you'd kill me.", Lila smiled widely.
"Oh, I remember.", Five chuckled darkly.
"Well, come on then big talker. Let's get this done."
Five blitzed away appearing on Lila's other side. He kicked in the direction of her shin but she jumped aiming her leg at his head. Five ducked but she still got his nose. Five grunted in pain and Lila ran away chuckling. Five followed and soon he appeared in front of Lila again. Nailah kept a safe distance to them. She had a perfect view on them from behind the paint barrels while being certain they couldn't see her.
Five kicked, twirled in the air and kicked again towards Lila's face. She skilfully evaded all his attacks.  Five switched his turning direction and planted a kick towards Lila's face. Then he tried to punch her in the stomach, side and head but all attacks were blocked. Lila grabbed his jacket and rammed her knee into Five's stomach. Nailah felt her fingertips pickle. She was going to intervene if she saw Five needed help but she had to keep the advantage of her position as long as possible.
Lila tried again to kick Five in the face and he ducked, slid towards her and tried to make her lose balance. Nailah saw him deliver another series of punched. She grunted annoyed when she saw it was the same as moments ago. Rookie.
Five kicked Lila in the stomach and she disappeared behind a table. Five followed but she was actually gone. Nailah ruffed her eyebrows. Five's gaze jumped to where she was hiding, clearly sensing her powers sucking in the heat in. from the room. He saw the sparks in her eyes and his corners twitched lightly. Nailah grinned back, her eyes now clearly full of fire. Nearly undetectably Five shook his head signalling for her to stay hidden. Nailah nodded.
"I'm waiting.", Lila chirped from another side of the room. Five twirled around.
He blitzed to the spot where Lila was but the only thing left after her was her laughter. Nailah's hiding spot didn't allow her to see how Lila had managed to do that.
"Fed up yet, Five?", Nailah only heard Lila's very annoying voice.
Five grabbed an old, rusty piped blitzed to the place where Lila had been standing. But he only managed to hit the power outlet letting sparks fly.
Lila appeared behind Five and aimed her leg at his head which he blocked. He ducked down and swooped his leg under hers making Lila fall down with a dull thump. Nailah nodded to herself. A basic, pretty amateur move but effective.
Five walked up to Lila and placed his boot on her throat.
"You're better than I thought.", Lila wheezed.
"And you are entirely average.", Five scoffed with a smile. Nailah giggled soundlessly from her hiding spot. She liked this side of Five.
"You can come out now.", Five said.
Nailah twitched in her spot but before she could move slow clacking of heels stopped her. It was clear Five hadn't meant her.
A very weird woman with red heels, a long cigarette and an absolutely hideous coat appeared.
"Well done.", she praised Five. "You figured it out."
"Well, it wasn't very hard.", Five scoffed looking at Lila under his boot. "She fights like every one of you commission drones."
Nailah nearly choked on her own saliva when the realisation hit her. This was The Handler. The one that had made Five kill people at the commission.
"Hmm. No matter. Here we are.", the Handler continued. "Together again. I've gotta ask. Did you miss me, you little shit?"
-> The Umbrella Academy Masterlist
Hello everyone!
Here we are at pretty much the halfway mark for this series. I would really appreciate any feedback/ reblog/ like you can offer. I would be especially interested what you think of Nailah and her dynamic with the siblings as well as if you think her character is well integrated.
Otherwise, thank you for reading and see you next part :)

HOLA WEEEEENAS!!!! OP anon here after disappearing for so long sjdjkwksje- had wonderful vacations but they were followed by some emotional and mental breakdowns but here we are 👊🏽✨ how are you Belle?? I noticed you changed your url :D✨
AY SI<333 the eyes don’t lie chico and neither does the heart, wci en serio fue maravilloso y tan emocionalmente cargado, I’m still 100% a Zoro girly but I will willingly become a Sanji defender any day dude nadie me va a insultar a ese hombre sin razón vayan a tener sus discusiones sin sentido de poder a otro lado🤺👊🏽
TE LO JURO ES QUE *punches air* okay so, I might be a little insane pero ya llegué al episodio 1112 JAJAJAJAJAHAHAJA PERO- literal Luffy es la encarnación de libertad (Nika, JOYBOY OMG-), he’s a not a hero even tho he might give the vibes of one: he’s a liberator!! whatever is restricting and holding back his friends he will fight it and get rid of it!! y si Luffy es tan inteligente emocionalmente, I very fondly call him dumb and silly but he’s so mature, a la edad de 6-7 vio a Shanks dejarse humillar por alguien que no vale la pena pelear y después darle una paliza cuando se mete con sus seres queridos. how can you remember all of that from that age and become conscious and mature enough to understand the reason behind it afterwards, and live by it for the rest of your life??
BIEN LINDOOOOOOS!!! es que la dinámica que mostraron funcionaba tan bien and I’m not gonna lie, I heard that part and thought the same JAJAJAJAJA Y PUEDE QUE SI SEA ASÍ porque si tomaron esa decisión personas que no hablan español pueda que solo buscaron la traducción básica y dijeron “hey they’re saying Black Leg guy!!” JAJAJAJAJ I’m not gonna lie, I also love all those ships but any ship with Luffy (sanlu, zolu, lawlu y demás pero no Nami JAJAHAJA) makes me SOOOO soft, yo sé que son representaciones fanon pero es que Luffy es así de lindo y capaz de traer luz a cualquier persona que ay no, lo quiero mucho al Luffy<3
y tú tipo “aaaaah, mira que bueeeenoooo” JAJAJAJAJAJA I honestly don’t know how would I react if I encounter a Sanji or Usopp or Nami hater like, I’ve seen people complaining or hating in comments on the websites I watched op and they literally have 0 sense or logic 💀 man I would die for Frobin, PERO EN WANO (oh boy I have so many things to say about wano) cuando van a entrar al palacio y Franky aparece en su moto y le dice a Robin “want a ride?” Y SIN DUDAR DICE SI TODA FELIZ CÁSENSEEEE!!! and then Brook takes her place and Franky is just like “whatever you can come I guess” JAJAJAJAJAJA also when they literally run over Big Mom LMAO ICONIC PERO Franky just turning around and saying “oh, I think we run over something, as long as it wasn’t over a pretty flower” Y MIRA A NAMI NOOO YO TAMBIEN LLORARA Y LO ABRAZO JAJAJAJAJA Franky best brother, best boyfriend, and best all-rounder award fr
los quiero mucho también estoy tan feliz que Jinbe ya sea un strawhat🫶🏽 más que vi los primeros dos episodios de Thriller Bark hace poco y casi lloro por Brook otra vez JAJAJAJA see this is why I hate those dudes even LUFFY who loves to get more powerful and fight powerful people has said not everything is about power, creo que lo dijo en la película Stampede que vi hace poco (debería volver a decirlo en el anime/manga😔👊🏽) Brook could literally be in an asylum, a risk to society even worse than most enemies yet he’s just making silly skeleton and panties jokes, everyone should be glad LMAO
ES CIERTO SAILOR MOON!!! más que después hacen la mini transformación de Luffy y Chopper imaginando el traje de Sanji AND THEN SANJI TRANSFORMS??? ngl mixed feelings at that moment porque me imaginé el conflicto interno pero cuando dice que se llamaba Soba Mask si me reí JAJAJAJAJAJSJSJA good for you man I’m so proud<3 y Law fanboying ahí enfrente pero diciendo “todos saben esto” YEAH OFC THEY DO YOU NERD 💀 I’m glad he broke it tho, like yeah it was cool and pretty useful but he doesn’t need it and he’s quite amazing as he is<3 kinda sad when his genes got awaken tho :c también casi lloro JAJAJAJAJA
nothing like an emotional and mental breakdown after a vacation, your brain truly was like yeah time to fuck shit Up
i diiiiid change my url it's what yuki deserves 😌 and i'm doing well! things are definitely not as shitty as they were LMAO
wci my beloved puedes creer q hay cualquier persona q dice q si zoro hubiese estado en wci le habría sacado la cresta a sanji y yo nuevamente me pregunto, ustedes ven one piece con el poto? AJJAAJ but yeah whole cake truly is a wonderful arc i'm so happy you enjoyed it!!
no soy nadie pa juzgar literal me vi toda la serie en 3 meses AJAJAJJ WHEN THE DRUMS STARTEEEEEEEEEEED the way i was shitting myself it was such a sick moment, he truly is liberation incarnated. and honestly luffy is dumb but he's also ridiculously smart the duality of a mc LMAO pero toda la razón vio cómo shanks se comportaba y dijo ah yo debería hacer lo mismo literal el mejor cabro 10/10
no pero literal "bien por ti" AJAJAJ i'm trying to learn how to ignore comments online because you're gonna find the most braindead people that only care about powerscaling so their only argument against nami and usopp is "well they don't do anything in the fights" once again, dejen de mirar one piece con el poto JAJAJ franky taking all of that in stride like ok brook it wasn't for you but you're my pal so you can do as you please LMAO la vez q aparecía franky en wano hacía algo maravilloso oda por favor dale más tiempo a este hombre es una necesidad a este punto
THE SANJI TRANSFORMATIOOOOOOOON literally my fave thing because they gave 100% gave him the magic girl treatment LMAO that clip is one of my fave things because it's so unnecessary but so funny. and law being so dissapointed when sanji said soba mask instead of stealth black LMAO we know what you are nerd (también amo q ahí se formó literal el fanclub the north blue boys para sanji JAJAJA) sanji genes awakening.............. the promise with zoro.............. if oda ends up making that actually happen i will fly to japan and kick his ass. but also!! antes de q sanji destruyera el traje literalmente pensando "q versión de mi le serviría más a luffy" AMIGO!!! amigo por la chucha ya pasamos por esto luffy te ama de cualquier manera puedes ser cualquier versión de ti y luffy te va a seguir queriendo en su tripulación pq eres tUUUUUUUU SANJI POR FAVOOOOOOOOOR no necesitamos otro wci AJJAAJ

If it were a happy ending, Shanks manages to pull Mihawk to safety with the help of Zoro, and surprisingly enough, Crocodile who provided them with cover while Shanks got Mihawk out.
Mihawk is so cold. He'd stopped breathing the moment Shanks reached their medical outpost and called for help.
Part of Shanks wanted to stay, wanted to make sure that Mihawk is going to be alright. But the war is still waging, so Shanks has no choice but to leave Mihawk in the capable hands of their doctors.
The last sight he has of Mihawk is him pale and unmoving, bloody rivulets still dripling down his body, Yoru set off to the side without her master. Shanks doesn't even have the time nor the luxury to hold Mihawk’s hand one last time before the war sweeps him away again.
Shanks fights with a reignited fire, tearing down anyone that gets in his way. He has only one goal in mind, to achieve his dream that Mihawk fought for, that he bled for.
And that's what hurts the most, if he's being honest. Mihawk would never fight if it wasn't in his best interest, but when offered the chance to fulfil Shanks' dream, he was the first to jump into the fray, to offer up his own life for Shanks' sake.
Mihawk sacrificed for him, and Shanks would be damned if he returned to his side without a victory.
And when all is said and done, when the war is won and Luffy becomes the King of the Pirates, when the promise of Peace is on the horizon, Shanks ambles his way back to the medical outpost.
A somber has fallen over the entire area. There's sobbing everywhere he looks. They lost plenty of allies to the war, there are bodies to bury and funerals to plan.
Shanks hopes to heaven and hell that Mihawk is not on that list.
He makes his way back to where he saw Mihawk last, in a medical tent in the farthest corner of the camp. There's no doctor inside the tent, most of them running around and trying to help the wounded, people who were still alive and had a chance to live.
Shanks fears for the worse.
The first thing he sees is Yoru, in all her black blade glory, still gleaming despite the blood coating it's surface.
And then...
A pair of gold eyes are watching him, eyes that are bright but tired, eyes that are open and alive.
Shanks cries in relief, collapsing at Mihawk's bedside, grasping his hand, his beating chest, his face, feeling every sign that Mihawk is still alive and with him. And although he is still weak, Mihawk manages to hold Shanks against him, presses Shanks' hand to his scarred but beating chest, and reminds Shanks that he is right there.
The End :)
(Now...who wants to hear the Sad Ending version?)
Final Flight
(This brainrot won’t leave me alone, so have some MiShanks angst.)
(CW: Major characters death)
Imagine the final war erupting - the Strawhats, their fleet, the Revolutionary Army, and all their allies rallying against the Marines, Blackbeard, World Government, and Celestial Dragons. It’s total pandemonium and casualties rack up on both sides with no sign of stopping. The two forces are evenly matched in strength and forces, and the standstill is taking its toll on them. Something has to break the draw.
Then, somebody lands a fatal blow on Dracule Mihawk.
It feels like time has stopped. Everyone, both allies and enemies that were fighting near the former World’s Greatest Swordsman, are slack-jawed. Mihawk’s eyes are wide, as if he himself can’t believe that he’s been harmed. He staggers, tries to stay on his feet, but blood spurts from the large cut across his chest, and he falls to the ground.
He doesn’t get back up.
The Alliance is outraged. Although Mihawk was infamous, he was theirs. He was fighting for their side. The rage and disbelief ripples through their alliance, from the former Warlords whose acquaintance was just slain by the people they used to work for, to the members of Cross Guild who just watched one of their commanders fall in battle, to a trembling Buggy and an enraged Crocodile who just lost their third, to a disbelieving Zoro who was mentored and entrusted with the title of World’s Greatest Swordsman.
But none of that compares to Shanks’ reaction.
Shanks who’s been fighting a tireless fight for days on end, Shanks who just watched numerous, comrades get hurt and die around him, Shanks who just watched the love of his life go down in a spray of blood.
His Haki ripples throughout the entire battlefield. The sky splits open, and the seas shake with the force of his will. Enemy forces go down like a domino chain, enough to turn the tide of the battle, enough for their alliance to catch their second wind and continue fighting again.
But all Shanks can focus on is Mihawk.
Shanks rushes through the battlefield, through smoke and blades and gunfire and Devil Fruit powers. His crew surrounds him and fends off anyone who tries to get in Shanks’ way. His eyes are trained on Mihawk’s body on the ground, on his still, unmoving chest, until Shanks is finally up close.
The blow has nearly split Mihawk apart. The pool of blood around him stains Shanks’ pants as he drops to his knees.
Golden eyes look up at him, and even through the pain, they crinkle with fondness at the sight of Shanks. Those eyes that used to be bright with life and love now look up Shanks with a haze over them. It’s obvious Mihawk is struggling to keep them open.
Shanks calls for doctors, for anyone - Hongo, Chopper, Trafalgar, Phoenix - but their medical outpost is miles away, and they're in the thick of the battle. No one can come to help them and they don't have much time.
Then, comes the pleading.
“Please, you need to stay with me. I can’t do this without you.”
What’s the use of Shanks’ dream of peace if Mihawk can’t be there to see it? Who else is Shanks doing this for, if not for his love, who just wanted a quiet life?
Mihawk’s lips are stained with his blood. A man of few words and even in death he has nothing to say. But Shanks has known and loved him for a long time now. Mihawk looks up at him with a defeated look in his eyes, his hand wrapped around Shanks as tight as he can manage. Shanks sees Mihawk’s mouth move and without even hearing the words he knows what Mihawk is trying to say.
Dracule Mihawk takes his last breath in Shanks' arm.
Nothing can prepare Shanks for the heartache that followed. He thought he’d know better by now, that after Roger and Uta, the pain would be easier to handle. It isn’t. It feels like his heart’s been taken out of his chest and crushed underfoot, it feels like watching Roger on the execution stand and listening to Uta’s swan song all over again.
You are never prepared for this kind of loss.
Shanks' grief enchoes throughout the battlefield. His Haki trembles with his cries, the entire world shakes with the force of his will, but Mihawk stays still an unmoving in his arms.
(For added angst: Imagine Film Red took place only a few months before the Final War. Imagine Shanks losing his daughter and lover only within months of each other.)

“are you sure you have to go?” the pout your bottom lip forms is a plea for the captain to stay for the rest of the night. shanks flinched at the sound of your voice, unaware that you had woken up as you seemed to be so deep in sleep just minutes ago.
the air filled with the mellifluous sound of his deep chuckle, nimble fingers buttoning up the last few buttons of his shirt.
“i’m sorry babe, the guys are waiting for me back on the ship.” your back collides with your sheets once again, turning your whole body to face the wall as a sign of protest.
shanks smiles, his own chest filling with a pang of guilt he despised before sitting back on the edge of the bed. he was only mere inches from where he once laid, rubbing your bare back in a futile attempt to ease the pain he undoubtedly knew you were feeling. “aw c’mon, you know i hate leaving ya, and i wouldn’t if i had to.”
his words cut through you like a hot knife through butter, he could’ve convinced you of almost anything if he had the chance.
unsure if it was just your heart hearing what it wanted to hear, an abrupt moment of sincerity in his voice caused you to bite your lip, hesitating on responding.
“then don’t.”
it was a selfish thing to do. asking him to stay with you. he was a captain of an entire pirate crew. there were so many people that needed him.
but you were one of them. and god, did you need him.
his calloused fingers pull away from your exposed skin, heart cracking in two as a heavy sigh escaped his chapped lips. and you knew that was his response.
“then,” you knew the answer to this question before even bothering to ask; but it still left your lips faster than your brain could stop them, “can i go with you?” your own words had you taken aback, shocked at the earnest tone that weaved its way into the question.
you weren’t necessarily the pirate type. much like makino, you were meant for a domestic, quiet life here on the island with her and your adopted baby brother luffy.
“c’mere,” was all he could say, his hand reaching out for you to take.
instead of obeying him, as you had for most of the night, you pull his hand so he comes to you. a smirk playing at his lips as he’s hovering over you, caressing your cheek with his index finger.
“please shanks,” your voice is whiney, a hand moves up to grab a handful of his red hair, yanking him down to connect your lips in a kiss. a groan rumbles in his chest that echoes into your mouth, an act that has you smiling into the kiss. his hand roams further down to run over the curvature of your body, your warm skin has his heart racing inside his chest.
if the captain had one weakness, it was always you. more specifically, your kisses. from time to time shanks wondered if you had put him under a spell, one where saying no to you was nearly impossible to do.
“you’re beginning to sound like luffy,” he jabs, nipping at your bottom lip one more time. he does his best to ignore the serious glint in your eye. if you stared at him like that for any longer, he would’ve become putty in your hands and said yes. “you know you can’t,” he breathes as his forehead is pressed against your own.
it killed him to see the sparkle in your eye that he fell in love with dulling at his denial. he wanted you safe and he would never forgive himself if you were hurt under his watch, or worse.
tears threaten to spill from your eyes as you remove yourself from his grip, arms crossing over your chest as you refuse to make eye contact with him. “then just leave, like you always do.”
the both of you can feel your hearts breaking simultaneously, unbeknownst to each other. the silence that fills the air is recognizable, much like all the other nights when he’d promise to return the next day. but this time, an unspoken pain lingers behind. one neither of you can identify.
shanks solemnly obliges, glancing back at you one more time before shutting the door behind him. he winces when he hears your sobs erupt just as it closes, nearly forcing him to do the same.
he rummages through his pants pocket, pulling out a folded picture of you that he never let leave his person. “i love you,” he whispers, smiling at the picture the entire walk back to his ship.
.。・:*:・
the damp rag in your hand wipes over the counter ridding it of any sticky residue luffy had left behind, happily taking the empty glass from the boy to give him a refill. “the crew’s been out at sea for a long time, i bet you miss them.” makino’s eyes are staring at luffy, but you know her words are directed more towards you.
“no way! i’m still mad at those guys!” luffy crosses his arms over his chest. you can’t help but agree, nodding your head along with him.
“yeah, you stay mad at them luffy,” you give him a high five which makino disapprovingly shakes her head at. the pain in your chest never subdued despite the last time shanks was in your bed was a couple of weeks ago.
the doors whip open, nearly being knocked off their hinges. the man had a villainous smirk on his face scanning the empty bar until his eyes fall on the three of you. “looks like those damn pirates aren’t here today. we were in the neighborhood, so we thought we’d stop by for a drink.” you and makino share a nervous glance as the mountain bandits fill-up the bar. their stares on you two are lustful and dirty, causing your skin to crawl under their gaze.
the way the mans’ eyes wander up and down your body makes you want to gag, only able to imagine the horrific, perverted things he could be thinking right now.
despite your frustration with your uncommitted lover, you wished he would walk through the doors just as he did every other time right about now.
“since that pirate isn’t here, does that mean i can get a piece of you this time?” his hands hover over your waist as you set the glasses of booze on his table, the other mountain bandits chuckling at the pained expression your face contorts into.
“luffy, why don’t you go home with y/n. i’ll serve these nice gentlemen and then meet you there.” makino smiles, shameless at the selflessness of her idea. the idea was stupid, idiotic even, a clear ploy to get you out of here. but she refused to watch this go on any longer.
“but makino—”
“go y/n. take luffy home.” you search her face, hoping on some level that she was joking. her stern expression asserted her protectiveness over the two of you. unfortunately for you it outshone any other emotion she might’ve been feeling.
even though annoying makino would not be something you wanted to go through today, you decided it was better than leaving her here alone with these men.
but before you could argue back her brows raised at you, questioning what you were still doing here. it was a pointless battle, makino always got her way and your chest heaved as you reached out to luffy, grabbing ahold of his hand. “c’mon luffy, let’s go home.”
the small boy ripped his rubber arm from your grip, ferociously shaking his head, “no! i’m not leaving makino alone with these guys!”
luffy’s mouth was big as his appetite, and your eyes shut knowing this was only going to go south from here.
.。・:*:・
the ice pack rests against your head, a pulsating pain rattling down your spine. that mountain bandit can really pack a punch. but as your heart anxiously beats, it’s not at your own expense, but at the thought of luffy in his captors’ hands.
once again, his uncontrollable mouth had gotten him into more trouble than he could handle leaving you and makino to attempt to resolve the mess he left behind.
this time around the foe proved himself to be more challenging than the rest, leaving you with a bottle of booze to the head and him kidnapping luffy.
with makino forcing you to stay behind, insisting being up and around wouldn’t ail you in feeling any better, you were left to clean up the mess of the alcoholic beverage and glass.
this reminded you of the last time you had to wipe up the alcohol the bandit had doused shanks with, a sterile rag running over his hefty biceps.
before your intrusive thoughts became too deep, your left arm began to burn. searing pain ripped through your flesh as you scream out in agony. the empty bar echoed with your cries as you watched in horror as your left arm began tearing off your body.
you couldn’t even catch your breath, in disbelief over the sight before you. the room was spinning, not even the bar stool could stabilize you as your body falls to the floor, a rough thud emulating throughout the room.
your wails seem to be unheard by anyone; most of the town was probably rushing to find luffy by now, leaving you to fend for yourself.
a violent cough breaks your screams, blood spattering on the wooden floor as you crawl to the door hoping someone passing by will help you.
“makino…” your elbow aids you in dragging yourself across the room, but as the pain continues it gets harder and harder to keep your eyes open. “shanks,” your throat is running dry, blood dribbles down your chin as you’re mere inches from the door, “help me, please.” your hand drops to the ground, vision going dark as you hear a faint “captain! come quick!” from outside.
.。・:*:・
shanks’ laughs at how tightly luffy is gripping onto his right hand, knowing that the poor boy probably wouldn’t release it anytime soon.
“i’m glad you’re safe shanks,” luffy sniffled, wiping away his tears that have been relentless since he was saved. “i’m sure y/n will be happy to see you too. she hasn’t stop talking about you since you left!”
shanks raises his brow, makino’s widened eyes are all the proof he needs to solidify luffy’s statement.
blood drips from shanks left shoulder, leaving small splatters in a trail behind him. despite having his arm being bitten off by a sea king, his charming, playful disposition doesn’t falter as he pokes at luffy for crying so much.
“captain! come quick!” benn waves the others over, the bar doors swinging back and forth as he rushes to your side. woop slap holds onto luffy as shanks and makino barrel into the bar.
“it’s y/n!”
makino gasps harshly, her hand slapping her mouth as her breath catches in her throat. shanks' eyes shoot open when they see your lifeless body lying on the ground, your left arm a couple feet from you.
his blood runs dry, color draining from his face as he couldn’t believe the sight in front of him.
“captain, you need to get your arm patched up. we’ll take care of y/n,” makino insists, tugging on his right arm knowing that he was losing too much blood right now.
shanks shakes from her grip, kneeling down next to you, “no, i’m fine. someone help y/n! where is a doctor?!”
no one had ever seen him so distressed, so anxious, as he takes your hand and kissed your bruised knuckles. he whispers some incoherent pleas as the town doctor rushes into the room with a gurney to set you on. his fists clench as he follows you back to the office, a single tear streaming down his face wishing he had never left you in the first place.
.。・:*:・
“i don’t understand this, what is happening?” shanks pays no mind to the needle as it sews up his wound, heavily breathing as his eyes never leave you. your body is underneath a thick blanket, left arm bandaged up, chest rising and falling at a peaceful pace. luffy has taken refuge underneath your blanket with you, your right arm somehow wrapped around the boy.
only lucky roux, benn, and makino are present in the room with him, each of them searching through books to locate the answer he was looking for. “how can her arm rip off her body out of nowhere? that doesn’t make any sense.” shanks emphasizes makino’s point by throwing his right arm out and bringing it back to massage his temples.
“dont move around so much captain, you need to sit still. right doc?”
the doctor nods her head, staring at shanks until he calms down a little. “this reminds me of when i met my soulmate,” everyone slowly gazes up at the doctor, their brows sculpted together.
“you know, the old tall tale. soulmates are bound together, nothing could separate them, not even blood. when one soulmate hurts, so does the other. when one bleeds, the other does too. in this case, when one loses an arm, so does the other.” she smiles nonchalantly, as if she hadn’t revealed the reality of soulmates to them. the doctor’s frail hand pats his non-wounded shoulder as she exits the room, leaving the others in silent shock.
“y/n’s my soulmate?”
makino’s face splits into a wide smile as she cups her hands together, nodding her head. “i knew it!”
“yeah captain, we thought that was obvious,” the tone in benn’s voice has shanks feeling as dumbfounded as ever, watching his first mate shrug his shoulders while shutting the book.
the memories of you two together flood his mind. now that someone said it, it was obvious. after intimate nights you’d spend on your knees, his would bruise up just as yours did. when luffy would punch him because of merciless teasing, you’d feel the blow to your stomach too. coining the pain on a random stomachache at the time made sense, but now…
his hand goes to slap his head, seeing you lying here felt like punishment for not noticing sooner. not that he could’ve stopped this from happening, but he could’ve protected you. kept you by his side just like he always wanted to.
“hey, what’s going on?” luffy asks, rubbing his tired eyes awake. makino motions her hand for luffy to grab, “c’mere luffy, we’re going to leave shanks and y/n by themselves for a while.” she picks him up out of bed despite his whines of protest as the four of them make their way out of the room, leaving shanks to sit next to your bed.
your fingers twitch as he intertwines your hands together. his lips leave small kisses trailing from your knuckles to your arm, mimicking the act he would perform before making passionate love to you. “i knew there was something special about you,” he laughs. he reaches over to brush back some of your fallen hair, fingers tracing over your cheek.
you begin to stir at his touch, eyes flickering beneath your eyelids. the overwhelming pain your body had felt had subdued as a warm presence can be felt without even opening your eyes. “what’re you doing here?” you question as your eyes flutter open before you notice his missing appendage. “oh my god shanks, wh—” you point to his left side before looking to your own, breath increasing at an unsteady rate. “what’s happening?! what is this?!”
shanks shushes you, begging you to lay back down so you don’t overexert yourself. “shh, it’s okay y/n. you need to calm down—”
“calm down?! my arm is gone! and so is yours! how are both of our arms…gone…” your brain racks for an answer. as you say more of this out loud, you remember a story your mother used to tell you all the time when you were little.
the pieces of the puzzle slowly come together; your eyes wandering up to meet his. they’re sympathetic, allowing you to come to terms with things on your own rather than attempt to explain it to you. if he’s being honest, he doesn’t quite understand it himself. you were always brighter than he was, understanding things faster than he ever could. it’s one of the things that made him fall for you in the first place.
your hand trembles as it raises to cup your mouth, “soulmates,” you breath out. “we’re soulmates?” shanks nods his head, extending out to hold yours. with your eyes flickering between his naturally dark ones, you launch yourself into his chest placing your lips over any exposed skin you could get ahold of.
“looks like i can’t get rid of ya now, can i?” you giggle in between kisses, the vibration skimming over his neck. his right-hand cups your cheek, the sparkle he loves reignites within your eye as you lean in brief peck. you know he wants more; his hand and eyes are screaming for you to make love to him right here in this doctor’s office.
you’d never say no to him, but right now there are more pressing concerns, “how are you going to break it to luffy that i get to join you guys and he can’t?” his face drops, eyes rolling knowing the onslaught of complaining and whining that is about to ensue.

Patch Me Up
Thomas can’t help but set his heart on the prettiest Med-Jack in the Glade, Y/N L/N. The only problem is that Thomas is fairly sure that she’s way out of his league.
masterlist
Tumblr media
The first time Thomas winds up in the med-jack clinic, he’s kind of embarrassed about it.
It wasn’t like he really meant to injure himself, anyway. It just so happened that he was really behind on clearing the weeds from whatever woebegotten section of the gardens the track hoes had allowed him to use, and Newt and Zart had stepped away for the time being, so Thomas got the bright idea to grab a longer blade from their casual resting place in the grass and try to lop all of the vines down before his friends saw. It was a great idea, of course, until his shins happened to be in the way.
Now Thomas is standing in the middle of his garden plot, blood leaking down into the soil, and all he can think about is the fact that he has no idea where to go from here. The vines have all been savagely cut away, which is perfect for him, but it’s too late to hide the bloodstain on the blade or the smear of red on his leg. He doesn’t really know what he expects Newt to say when he finds out, but he definitely doesn’t expect the blond boy to start laughing.
“Jeez, Greenie, you really are a klutz. First you trip while running to the Maze when you’re not even five minutes out of the Box, then you manage to stab yourself while gardening. How do you do it?” Thomas glares at his friend, who’s almost doubled over laughing now. “It’s not like it happened on purpose. Besides, I didn’t stab myself, it’s just a scratch.” Newt attempts to control himself. “Right, I’m sure about that. Not sure why you would go around slicing yourself, but I’m not about to question you. Come on, then, you’ll have to get the med-jacks to see to that.”
Thomas frowns, but follows Newt as the blond second in command starts to lead him away from the gardens and back towards the buildings of the Homestead and the center of the Glade. “The med-jacks?” Newt nods. “They’re what passes for doctors around here. They’ll fix you up with some bandages and antibiotics and you’ll be good to go, so long as you don’t stab yourself when trying to pick the tomatoes.” Newt was expecting Thomas’ attempt to hit him and dodges easily, which is unfortunate.
Eventually, Newt and Thomas enter a door into a structure that’s less a building and more just a hut. A roof is propped up on logs and twigs and whatever else the Builders could find, and Thomas can see rows of beds and tins of medical supplies lying around. It’s a mess, that’s for sure, but what isn’t in the Glade? Thomas has to hurry over to Newt, who’s already disappearing around a corner.
When Thomas catches up with Newt again, he’s surprised to see the blond boy talking to someone, a bright smile on his face. Newt, upon seeing Thomas approach, beckons for him to come over. “This is Thomas, by the way. Thomas, this is Y/N. She’s the one who patches most of us up around here.”
All of a sudden, Thomas feels like he’s been caught in the middle of a sunspot. There’s a girl in front of him now, a beautiful girl that makes Thomas wonder how on Earth he hasn’t seen her around before. He’s sure that he would remember her- even now, he’s doing his best to carefully memorize every detail of her face and hands and smile so he can cherish the memory for the days to come. She’s gorgeous, that much is certain, and she’s looking at him with so much happiness over just him that Thomas wants to grin stupidly.
However, he can’t just stand here gaping like an idiot, so he closes his mouth and manages a nod in greeting. Newt, watching with a raised eyebrow, seems to be enjoying this. “Don’t get too infatuated, Greenie. Y/N’s used to all of us and so she won’t ever go out with any of us. That’s just how it is.” Y/N laughs. “Maybe I’m just sick of the rest of you coming in here all the time to bother me.” Newt shrugs. “That too.”
They talk for a few moments, then Y/N claps her hands together, almost startling Thomas. “Right, Greenie, what’s your problem? I mean, what happened that would bring you to the med-jack hut?” Newt grins first at Thomas, then at Y/N. “I’m going to let you explain that one, greenbean. I’ll meet you back in the gardens.” With that, and a parting wave, Thomas is left alone with the closest thing to an angel he’s ever found in his life.
He doesn’t have time to sit and think about this, though. Y/N’s still regarding him expectantly, and Thomas can feel his cheeks start to heat up at the ridiculousness of his injury. Of course, the first time he meets a girl like Y/N he has to do it by the stupidest of means. Thomas gestures roughly towards his leg. “I, uh, accidentally cut myself.” Y/N raises an eyebrow. “While in the gardens?” Thomas nods. “While in the gardens.”
He half expects her to laugh at him like Newt had, but instead she shrugs and reaches for a roll of bandages and some ointment. “Not the worst injury I’ve seen, or the worst story. You should have seen the things Newt used to come in here for. I think he once twisted an ankle when he was walking too close to a tree and forgot to move out of the way.” Thomas almost snorts. “He what?” Y/N looks up at him, halfway through treating his cut. There’s a laugh dancing behind her eyes that makes Thomas’ smile widen in spite of itself.
“Yeah, he tripped over a tree. We all thought it was hilarious and wouldn’t stop teasing him about it for weeks. Ask him and he’ll deny it, of course, but it happened nonetheless.” Thomas’ cheeks almost hurt from smiling this much. “Is that why he limps all the time? He hurt himself doing something like that?” All of a sudden, Y/N’s smile slips away from her. There’s a look in her eyes that tells Thomas that something happens, something bad that she can’t seem to shake. “No, not that.”
She stands up now, pressing a roll of bandages into his hands. “Here, that should hold for a while. Change your bandages before you go to bed, you don’t need me for that. It’s a shallow cut, so you’ll be fine.” Thomas wants to curse himself. Why’d he have to bring that up and make her feel so bad? “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought it up.” Y/N forces a smile, which is almost as bad to see as if she’d just started glaring at him. “No, it’s fine. You should probably go back to the gardens, though. I think Newt is waiting.”
Before he knows it, Thomas is standing outside the med-jack hut, staring at the door closed right in front of him. For a moment, all he can do is just stay there and think about what just happened. Thomas thought that whatever had happened to Newt was old, an injury that happened a while ago. Judging by Y/N’s reaction, though, it’s still fresh in her mind, and now he’s gone and reminded her of it. What does he do about that?
The second time Thomas finds himself in the med-jack hut, he does his best to avoid it.
It wasn’t like this injury was all that bad. Still embarrassing, still ended up with blood on his hands, but he didn’t need to go to the med-jacks, he’d be fine. That’s what Thomas tried to tell Minho, anyway, but his friend wouldn’t listen. “If you end up getting that cut infected, it’ll be a lot worse and Y/N will kill us all. Just go, you’ll be in and out in ten seconds and it’ll be fine.” Thomas tries his best to protest and come up with excuses to stay away from the flimsy hospital room, but in the end, Minho won’t take no for an answer, practically dragging him towards the hut anyway.
It’s not like Thomas has a particular aversion to getting medical treatment, it’s just that he’s afraid to see the girl there waiting for him. Ever since that day, when he’d mistakenly brought up Newt’s injury, Thomas can’t help but feel guilty. He can’t figure out quite what it was that would make Y/N’s seemingly ever-bright eyes darken like an approaching storm, but it was definitely something he’d said. He’s not sure that Y/N will really want to talk to him, as she’d more than given that impression by shooing him out of her workplace, so he’s done his best to avoid the med-jack hut.
However, he can’t exactly tell all this to Minho, so all Thomas can do is try his best to argue his friend out of a trip to the hut. Minho refuses, of course, and Thomas finds himself waiting in the med-jack hut a few minutes later, arms crossed over his chest in annoyance. He sends up a silent prayer to whoever is listening that he’ll get Clint or Jeff, but when he hears someone say his name in a surprised voice, he recognizes it as Y/N and Y/N alone.
She walks over to them, holding a thermometer from where she’d been organizing a box of supplies recently arrived from the Box. “What’s up, you guys?” Minho jerks his thumb towards Thomas with a grimace. “This shank went and cut himself on the walls of the Maze while we were out running. He tripped and caught himself, but his shoulder bit it. It was kind of funny, actually.” Y/N playfully swats Minho while she walks by. “No making fun of injuries, Minho. We’ve talked about this. I’m the only one who gets to do that.”
Now she’s standing in front of Thomas, grimacing in sympathy at the small bloodstain over his shoulder blade. “You’ll need to clean that up pretty soon. Minho, you go ahead to the Map Room. I’ll take care of Thomas.” Minho flashes her a thumbs up, already starting to jog out of the room. “Don’t have to tell me twice.” Y/N grins as she watches him go, then turns back to Thomas, who’s still standing there with apprehension rising in his chest. What is he supposed to say now? Sorry I brought up what might have been a traumatic incident in your past, I didn’t know and kind of felt loopy whenever you smiled at me? Yeah, that wouldn’t really work out too well.
As it turns out, he doesn’t have to think at all. She’s already conjuring up a fresh grin for him, an inquisitive expression on her face. “You know, usually whenever Greenies show up, they go through the same routine of showing up here with fake injuries just to see the one girl in the Glade, but seeing as Minho had to physically drag you here, I don’t think that’s the case. Bandages again?” Thomas manages to nod. “Sure, that sounds great.”
Y/N’s already spinning back across the room to grab the roll of bandages, but she holds up a finger in the air just in case. “That’s good, because I wasn’t asking. That’s a little check, just to make sure you aren’t out of your shucking mind.” Thomas snorts. “Who isn’t?” Y/N laughs as she starts to dress the wound. “Well, I was kind of wondering if you were. You’ve practically been avoiding me ever since we met.”
Thomas has to admit that this is true- in all of his fear to misspeak again, he’s been constantly passing up opportunities to talk to Y/N again. He doesn’t sit next to her at meals, he doesn’t cross the bonfire to say hello. Looking back at it now, it does look as if he’s been trying to distance himself, even if that couldn’t be further from how he felt. Thomas scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. “Maybe I’m still a dumb Greenie who doesn’t know how to talk to the one girl in the Glade.”
Y/N rolls her eyes. “That’s a lie and you know it. Are you going to tell me or am I going to have to guess?” There’s a hesitancy in her question, like she’s second-guessing herself. Thomas almost rushes over himself in his haste to convince her that this isn’t her fault. “No, it’s not like that. It’s just- I know I upset you the last time we talked, and I felt bad about that. I guess I just kind of figured that you wouldn’t want to see me for a while.”
Y/N looks up at him in surprise, bandages forgotten. “What are you talking about? Thomas, that was a one time thing, I swear. It was just a hard day and a hard memory, nothing more. Shuck, you’ve been guilting yourself over this the entire time?” Thomas shrugs, a slight smile on his lips. “Well, not the whole time.” When Y/N raises an eyebrow at him, he clarifies. “Maybe a little bit more than most of the time. Okay, a lot.”
Y/N giggles, and Thomas almost wants to make a fool of himself a few more times just to hear it. “Consider this whole thing over and done. I officially forgive you for something that I forgot about an hour after the conversation.” She grins, and Thomas grins with her. “That sounds good to me.” Y/N nods, taking a step backward to consider her work. “You know what would sound good to me? If you stopped injuring yourself all the time. I mean, I go through a roll of bandages like every hour.”
Thomas scoffs. “That’s because there are more shanks in the Glade than just me, Y/N. I’m not the only one getting hurt.” Y/N points at him to further her point. “Yeah, you’d better not. In fact, simply stop being injured. Easy as that.” He can’t help but laugh, and Y/N’s eyes sparkle triumphantly at this. “You’ve got a nice laugh, Thomas.” As with anyone else, Thomas’ laugh dries up slightly when he hears this truth, like the second he’s complimented he has to hide that very thing.
He doesn’t know what to do now, where to go from here. All he can really do is stand here and watch her smiling at him. To be honest, Thomas is fairly sure that’s all he would ever want to do. He knows it’s time for him to leave and stop bothering her, but Y/N’s looking at him like she just might give him a chance, so he decides to offer her one. “I hear they’re having a bonfire later tonight. Want to go with me?” Y/N’s grin broadens. “Absolutely.”
Just like that, Thomas’ day is made.

Tom Felton - Baby on the Brain
A/N - First request! I hope this is what you wanted, I really like this idea. I don’t know Tom, nor do I claim to, and the other characters are fictional figments. To celebrate 100 followers, I'm uploading this early. Thank you!
Warnings - overloads of fluff, mentions of baby sick, mild language, slight angst, hints to a breeding kink whoops, lightly implied smut.
Summary - Visiting Tom’s brother and his new baby should be a walk in the park, really, but some unwitting truths come to ahead that you can’t refute. You’ve always wanted a family, but does Tom? (Request for Tom Felton: you guys meet his brother's new baby and then decide to have your own.)
Tumblr media
Tom’s bruised knuckles rap thrice against the oak wood of his brother's front door, squeezing your smaller, trembling hand in his, running his fingers over the band of the ring in pride of place. Taking a deep breath in sync with yours, he turns his twinkling blue eyes towards you, lending you a twitch of a reassuring smile.
“Why are you so nervous? It’s only my brother,” he says, his voice gruff following the cigarette he smoked in the car.
“It’s the baby I wanna see,” you breathe, “less nervous, more jittery.”
“Maybe you should’ve gone for tea this morning instead of a double shot coffee.”
You nudge his ribs with your elbow, and then his overly sensitive hip bone with yours, coaxing a gentle chuckle from his lips, “Maybe I wouldn’t have needed it if you hadn’t kept me up so late.”
The devilish, shit-eating grin creeping onto his lips tells you that he feels no remorse, but then again, you’d take tiredness and a night like that over anything. His fingers twine tighter around yours as footsteps begin to shuffle behind the door, followed by an ear-piercing, blood-curdling screech, absolutely unholy.
“See he’s having fun with the kid, then?” you begin to whisper, but your words trail off as Tom’s very exhausted looking brother appears in the doorway, feeding bottle in hand, burping rag over his shoulder, deep purple bags beneath his eyes.
“Alright mate?” Tom greets, stepping one loafer-clad foot over the threshold, offering his brother a man hug.
“Tired, yeah. How you doing, man?” he responds warmly, patting Tom’s back.
“I’m good, I’m good, Jon.” Tom says, though you can feel him almost imperceptibly tense beside you.
Turning ever so slightly, all eyes are cast on you. Naturally, you offer Tom’s brother your warmest smile, teeth and all, sympathy welling both in your eyes and your heart. Kids must be tough if he looks like this with a three-week old.
“And who’s this?” Jonathan asks, sweetly, inquisitive more than anything, though he does look at you a bit peculiarly, scrutinising you, perhaps your outfit, the mom jeans you paired with a cropped cardigan perhaps not his style.
“This is my fiancée, Y/N.” Tom says, his words holding an inflection or pride perhaps, but whatever it is, it sends a pang of excitement shooting down your spine, a smirk creeping its way onto your lips, one you have to bite back, “I’m sorry I haven’t bought her over before, but you know what it’s like.”
“Yeah, course. Nice to meet you.”
“And you! Where’s the baby?”
Tom chuckles softly, and he curls his arm around your body, hip to hip. “She loves kids.”
Jonathan stands aside, a welcoming hand to beckon you into his home, the laminate floors covered in baby commodities, pastel blankets strewn everywhere, but other than, surprisingly clean considering Tom mentioned his brother was a hoarder and was always the most untidy of the bunch all throughout their youth. Considering how bad Tom is and how often you’re stuck cleaning away his dirty dishes and putting his laundry on, you were expecting far worse, but maybe Tom was the worst of them all along.
He tickles between your ribs as you wander through the halls, greeted in the back room by a tiny blonde headed baby, cradled in two arms of a just as exhausted looking lady donning a kind smile, stars dancing in her eyes as she stares down at her temporarily placated child. Tufts of blonde hair pair with enamoured hazel eyes to compliment the soft yellow of their clothes and the rosiness of their chubby cheeks. The hair, the nose, the tiny dimples; this baby looks just like Tom - and all his brothers - did when they were little dots themselves. The same little treasures. You, however, were an unattractive baby compared to this ball of sunshine.
“This is Ainsley.” Tom’s sister in law says lazily, her words falling off as she gapes in adoration at the gurgling blob of joy in her embrace. “And I’m Zara.”
“I’m Y/N.” you smile widely.
Should he not know better, Tom would quite possibly think you’re going to either collapse of hyperventilate, judging by the flush of your cheeks, your elevated pulse, heart beating out of your chest, the tiny, delightful, desperate whimpering noises from the back of your throat, elicited from a single glance into the babies eyes.
Said baby begins to make some indistinguishable noises and flails its arms around faintly, feebly, in your general direction. You’d be lying if your heart didn’t do a somersault in your chest.
“M- may I hold Ainsley?” you stammer out, extending your covered arms in a similar cradle to that of Ainsley’s mother.
“God, you’d be doing me a right favour,” she retorts, her accent broad, Geordie.
She shuffles softly down the pale green sofa, so perfectly complimenting the oak floors, to make a room for you that you take gratefully, and position yourself astutely against the back of the sofa. Before retrieving the baby, though, Tom grasps for a muslin cloth and affectionately drapes it over you, affectionate in the manner that he does it with such care, grazing his thumbs over your collarbones as he goes, ever so gently, barely even a touch, but enough to let you know he’s there. He holds your gaze for a moment, his lips twitching into a smile. This alone sends butterflies to your stomach and sets a sheen of fog about your head, taking you even more by surprise when the baby is laid in your arms, writhing and smiling and blinking so sweetly.
“Hiya darling,” you coo, “aren’t you just the most precious thing.”
“Gender neutral name and clothing...” Tom interjects, sidling up on the arm of the sofa beside you, “may I ask their sex and the pronouns you’re using?”
“Male, but we’re trying to be as gender neutral as possible so they can grow up not feeling pressured.”
You can’t wipe the beam from your face, or prevent the small ‘awwh!’ from escaping under your breath, curling the cloth slightly around the child, “That’s a wonderful attitude. Tommy, would you fetch my bag from the car, please?”
In a second, he’s bouncing up, his hand thrust deep in his chinos to fish for the car key. “You asked me to grab it before we got out as well, sorry sweetheart. Back in a minute.” With a nod to his brother, he’s racing out the door, his footsteps thundering through the house. Your attention, however, remains glued to the baby.
“Would you like me to set them down for tummy time afterwards, or is he going back to sleep?” You ponder aloud, eyes glued to the wry tufts of hair so soft and silky between your fingers.
“If he falls asleep in your arms, that’s fab. We’re just livin’ minute by minute.”
You release a small laugh, “Fair enough.”
Jon sits beside you tentatively, between yourself and his wife, his arm wrapping around her as she leans her body weight against him, her hair--held in a bun before, now just kind of flopping into her eyeline--tickling her shoulder and causing him to wince a little.
“How do you know so much about babies?”
The sigh you don’t mean to release is wistful at best, plain pining at worst--and probably most obvious. “I’ve always wanted them, kids, but Tommy’s the first guy I’ve settled down with, but despite being engaged, we’re still taking things slowly.”-- You shrug, as best as you can with the baby in hold, and cock your head to the side to peer down better at every tiny freckle on Ainsley’s skin.--“I love him to bits, but he wants to wait, and I’m still young, a good chunk younger than he is.”
“If it helps,” he starts, “I’ve never seen Tom as in love with someone as he is you. He’s besotted. You say the word, he’ll do it.”
“I know. I just don’t want to make him do anything unless he’s 100% sure.”
“And that’s what makes you his perfect girl.”
Your heart swells. There’s a beat, a pause of silence, filled only with the zapping of the car outside, no more than a couple of seconds before Jon’s wife speaks again.
“Enough of that. Show us the ring!”
If they’re all this excitable at something as simple as your engagement ring, perhaps you’ll fit in with his family better than you anticipated. ** Certainly, if their amiable gasps are anything to go by as you display your hand to them, your ring finger held out, supporting Ainsley’s head in the crook of your elbow as they gawk at the diamond glistening in the sunlight streaming in from their floor-to-ceiling patio doors. You have to admit it’s a pretty damn beautiful ring, the one you always dreamed of. An oval cut 0.5ct diamond held in place by a delicate split-shank 18ct gold band. It glows ethereally in whatever light there is, but most spectacularly in Tom’s eyes.
“It’s the most gorgeous ring,” she gushes, “apart from mine.”
A smile creeps its way in. You’re not entirely sure what the hell you’ve done right in your life to deserve this incredible, expensive ring, or even Tom for that reason. This is the life you’ve always dreamed of, the one that Tom’s brother has, and if you’re even half as happy as they are after being married for 5 years then you’ll consider your life to be a great success. You always wanted the quiet family life in the suburbs, with a lovely house and a nice garden and a couple of kids, working a part time job that pays well and allows you time for your children and your husband… then you fell in love with him. Loving Tom, though, that’s the true gift in your life, and you’d take him over that life any day. He’s the best, truly.
Speak of the devil and he shall arrive, since Tom comes puffing into the room, his heavy footsteps coming to a halt in the doorway as he hands over your abnormally large handbag.
“Here,” he gasps, but turns his gaze upon your hand, witnessing their marvelling at the rock he put there, “it is a pretty boss ring, isn’t it? Worth every penny.”
He bends down to ghost a kiss over your lips, his slightly long dark-blonde hair tickling your cheeks, smiling warmly down at you before deciding to sidle up next to you in the small gap between you and the arm of the sofa. However, half way down, his hip bones are digging in, and he winces up like he’s just been shocked. You know how sensitive his hip bones are, a fat you use against him incredibly often for all the best reasons, but today, he’s been so good, and you shan’t make him sit uncomfortably.
Keeping your hold on Ainsley--who’s almost asleep already, quieter than he was before with only faint gurgles escaping, their eyes droopy--steady, you begin to stand, and shuffle yourself up a bit, allowing Tom to take your previous seat, before placing yourself back down with as little ‘umph’ as you can manage, hooking your thigh over tom’s in the process. He knows what to do, it’s always been your calling card at home or at a party: as soon as you sling your leg over his, he pulls you into his lap eerie time, and today is no different. Well, perhaps it is, as he furrows his dark eyebrows inquisitively, gazing adoringly at you and the child in your arms, waiting for your nod okay before he hitches his arms around your waist and tugs you, as gently as he possibly can with his delicate grip, into his lap, giving you both ample space.
“Babe,” you whisper, “can you fetch the gift out of my bag?”
He’s instantly ferreting around until he finds the presents you neatly wrapped in polka dot paper, and hands them to Jonathan. Eagerly, they're unwrapped, and it seems that your many arguments over what to get Tom’s niece or nephew were worth it, considering the fact their eyes begin to brim with tears.
A soft grey elephant plush, holding a yellow heart, embellished with ‘Ainsley Felton, love Uncle Tom’, and a Peter Rabbit china crockery set for when they’re older.
“Thank you,” Zara exclaims, the way only a mother can, in gracious relief, “they’re adorable, so perfect.”
And before you know it, both you and Tom are being embraced wholeheartedly, as though you’re already their family. It’s been a life since anyone besides Tom hugged you, but this, this is nice.
“Well, lunch?”
Tumblr media
Said lunch is a tumultuous affair, with a delivery pizza being ordered from the local dominoes, but with Ainsley so comfortable and calm in your arms, it was an elected decision not to move him, and instead, Tom fed you your pizza. It isn’t the first time, his love language seems to be feeding you things, but normally it's strawberries or chocolate truffles. Never before have you covered an entire medium pizza being fed to you while trying to avoid dropping any toppings or tomato sauce onto a peaceful baby, but that is just an indicator for the rest of the afternoon, Tom’s hands or eyes never once leaving you.
Completely accidentally, Jonathan and his wife drift off to sleep. You smile sadly at the sight, unable to blame them, they must be knackered, the problem simply lies in the fact that Ainsley begins to stir just as they drift off.
“See if there’s any milk in the fridge, please, I think they’re using formula.” you hiss to Tom, standing up cautiously.
Aghast, he grapples for words, “I-I’m sorry, what?!”
“Forget it,” you sigh, “take the baby and change him, please.”
“Change him?!” Again, that same tone of staggered surprise. “I don’t know how!”
“You have four nieces and nephews already, yes you do. He’s going to start screaming in a minute and wake your very tired, very groggy brother. Change the baby.”
When your eyes begin to thin, nostrils flaring, eyebrows raising, he knows not to mess with you, so he swallows thickly, his throat bobbing up and down, and scoops a crying Ainsley from your arms. As he treads upstairs, you find your way back into the kitchen, and find on the counter the bottles done with their sterilisation. This is okay, this is great, you know how to do this, and years of babysitting taught you exactly how to do this. It’s almost like that scene from Outnumbered, assembling the bottle with your eyes closed, muscle memory taking over from your brain. When your eyes flutter open, you almost let out a little squeal at your achievement. If only you could learn this all over again, have this life with a little child of your own, with Tom being as good a dad as he’s acting right now. When you handed him the baby, though, you couldn’t help but notice the fear that flashed over his face, paling him a shade, his pupils dilating to erase the blue. You wish he wasn’t so scared…
A few minutes later, with the kettle boiled and the formula made, you appear in the front room where Tom is swaddling Ainsley, holding the bean against his beating heart, making only the very slightest movements to entertain them.
“Give him a bit of tummy time while the milk cools, do you want to feed him?” you offer, stepping over the threshold .
“N-no,” he exhales slowly, “I think you’d best do that. Can I just put them down?”
“I’ll grab the mat from the corner”--you spied it as you walked in, a colourful crinkle mat rolled up and tucked away from view against the cream walls, behind the flat-screen on its grand stand--“and then yeah.”
Even as he puts Ainsley down, stomach first, onto the playmat, he looks petrified. Taking a seat on the floor to watch over them, you tug on Tom’s tan trouser leg. Indecisiveness gnaws at him, tugging him away from you, but he concedes to your widened puppy eyes, and tumbles onto the shag pile rug next to you, his arm wrapping around your shoulders like its second nature.
“You okay?” you whisper.
“Yeah, course. You?”
“Yeah.”
You let your head fall to his arm, a blissful smile creeping its way onto your lips when Ainsley looks you dead in the eye, hazel orbs twinkling, full of hope.
“I love you.”
“I know,” he hums, “I love you too.”
“Then why are you being so… prickly with me today?”
He shifts away from you the most miniscule amount, “I’m not.”
“We’ve been together for years, Tom. I know when you’re bloody lying.” you lower your voice for the final words, “now tell me why you’re being such a pouty puss.”
You mimic his frown, knowing full well that he hates it when you do so. He hates seeing you sad, even if it's just pretend, so makes a swooping move to kiss the frown away.
“Would you leave me if I said I didn’t want kids?” his voice breaks on the final word, little more than a whisper, but his next move is so animated that it almost startles you with the bottle in hand. “I mean, you know I want them. I love kids, I want us to have a family, but…”
“Nothing would ever make me leave you, Tom. You couldn’t do anything that’d cause me to fall out of love with you.”
The pain in your statement sends a shock through you, singing your heart, poisoning your mind, sending a sour bile running up your throat. No matter how many daggers shoot at your heart, it remains to be true. You’d do anything for him. If, tomorrow, he turned around and said he wanted the two of you to stay together but never marry and never have children, you wouldn’t back down without a fight, but you’d accept it. Despite all your lifelong hopes, nothing trumps Tom.
“I’m gonna feed Ainsley now.”
Picking the baby up from the rug, you put a bib around his neck, and throw another cloth around you, taking a seat in the corner chair to feed him.
“I’m going to the bathroom.” he says, and walks out, shoulders slumped.
You watch him wistfully as he leaves the room, and even when he returns--refusing to look at you--your gaze is still trained on his every move, slumping into the shag pile rug to watch the TV on a low volume. You can feel his eyes on you, that burning pair of eyes that follow you everywhere, your every movement, his ears honed, trained to your every shift and whisper. The second you turn upon him though, he’s looking away.
“I’ll put Ainsley down now,” you announce after burping him, “we need to leave soon if we want to make it home before dark.”
He doesn’t even bat an eye as you sashay past him, Ainsley’s cries muffled by a dummy, but the second he hears your footsteps heading back downstairs, his own begin to thunder, pounding against the stairs to meet you halfway.
“Wait,” he whispers, “come on, sit down, talk to me. I love you.”
A sigh heaves your chest, “I love you too. Talk about what?”
“You’re being arsey with me.”
“Because you said you don’t want kids!”
“Well I didn’t mean it, I’m just”--he pinches the bridge of his nose, and ushers you up on the stairs, your calves hitting the carpet--“there’s a lot to think about. We just met the kid, and I saw how your face lit up when you held him.”
“You know I want kids, Tom.”
“I know, but can we not talk about kids for a second? I want to talk about you. You’re my fiancée, I want to make you my wife. I’m just scared.”
“What of? You have nothing to be scared of. I’ll be here no matter what.”
“That’s why I’m scared!” he exasperates, flailing his arms about, “I don’t want you to senselessly follow me and love me if I can’t give you what you want. I’m scared of fucking this up, fucking you up. I’m scared of this going wrong, with children or marriage or saying something wrong, because I can’t lose you.”
“Tom,” you murmur.
Your hand flies up to cup his jaw, grazing your thumb over the stubble growing there, the faintest shadow.
I love you. I- I need you. Y/N, sweetheart, please. I just wanna stay how we are, just stay this way for a bit, slow down because the world is moving too fast, and I’m gonna fall, but I can’t drag you down with me.” he croaks, cradling your neck with trembling, callused hands. “Can we stay how we are? Just us? Just you and me?”
“Babe you aren’t gonna lose me. Everything else off the table, we’ve got this, we’ve got us. We can stop the world and get off if that's what you want. Nothing is immediate, everything can wait.” you promise, your eyes boring into his.
All at once, his lips come crashing down onto yours, swallowing any inhibitions with his lavishing tongue, his hot breath slanting and fanning over your lips, leaving innocent adoration in their wake. Until a piercing scream resounds.
“Except maybe that.”
You duck from his grip skilfully, and slip into Ainsley’s room, two fingers reaching out to tickle their stomach, causing the scream to hiccup in their throat momentarily. Then, as if wondering what to do next, he just stares up at you imploringly, questioningly.
“Come on Ainsley, I just set you down to sleep. Be good and let mummy and daddy sleep too, okay?” you coo, tucking his blanket back up to his neck, slipping his cuddly toy closer, “go back to sleep.”
This child is already one with an attitude, you can tell that by the vehemence with which he yells out. You don’t even have to think twice before you’re stooping into the cot, swathing him in blankets, and lifting him to your bosom, where his screams fall to mere gurgles.
“Do you think he’s sleeping in the bed with them?” you ask Tom, keeping your voice at a steady whisper even with the slight bounces you’re offering the baby, “because I think that causes parental problems above all else because they’re being kicked in the back all night. Still, decreases the risk of SIDS. Why do they have a cot up if they are? He can’t sleep without contact…”
You don’t even realise you’re thinking aloud until Tom presses his thumbs into your shoulders, buckling your whole body. It’s the instant tension reliever, truly, and your shoulders do seem tighter today, perhaps from all the baby wrangling.
“Lets just sit, shall we?”
You do, taking up refuge in the front room once again, with an extra blanket of his, as well as a supply of cuddly toys, rattles, and dummies. Tom watches you with fascination for the rest of the afternoon, everything you do drawing his full attention; enticing, entrapping. His heart swells at the sight of you bouncing Ainsley around to make him laugh, cooing and giggling with him to coax a smile back after a wail that you hushed down, holding him so closely as he sleeps. He’s finally seeing it, after all these years, you, in your true home habitat, caring for a child, so kindly, so motherly, so naturally. Everything you do instantly seems to set the infant at ease. He knows it should be him, Ainsley is his nephew, but… you’re just better.
In fact, before he even realises it, he’s craving what he doesn’t have. Not that he can’t have it -- you’ve been together for a long time, you’ve discussed a future with children more times than he can count, and of course he wants it. Tom, he’s always wanted to be a dad, to read his kids books and sing them lullabies and show them what daddy did for work… but it's always been a pipe dream. Your wishes of a family have never come to fruition, and all because of his selfish fears.
The world can’t stop turning just because he’s getting cold feet and wants to climb off for a minute to catch his breath. That’s not how life works. If you want something, you’ve gotta grab it by the balls, because the opportunity will be gone before you know it. And with Tom? He won’t lose you because he won’t take a chance to make you happy and give you what you want. If anything, seeing the crestfallen look that settles between your brows when you actually have to give Ainsley back to their parents just further instils and confirms the idea in his head. There’s his future, in his mind's eye, as clear as day. This is what he needs to do, but better still, this is what he wants.
Tumblr media
The drive back to your home is spent in relative silence, and a pensive one at that. You know like instinct that Tom is replaying your final conversation with Jonathan and his wife the same way you are. After all, the simple words did put a dampener on your reconciliation. Your hand is on the gearstick the whole way, though, your fingers entwined with his, the simple contact enough for you. You were right at lunch: all day it's been his hands or his eyes on you: you like it when it's both simultaneously, the way it was when you said your goodbyes.
Tom’s hands settled on your hips, his chin atop your head, and you just fell into his enveloping warmth, smiling lazily at the couple you rescued for the afternoon.
“Thanks so much, we owe you one.” Jonathan said, giving Tom another one of those manly hugs as you stand in the dusk-darkened wooden porch.
“Really,” Zara chimed in, her feet shuffling on the tiled floor as she held her husband's hand, “you’re welcome to have him any time. That is, of course, if you don’t have a little one of your own by the time you’ve recovered from that blighter.”
You forced a dry chuckle at her words, an awkward sound, but you seemed to recover well enough, “Well Ainsley’s been a pleasure, and I’m glad we could give you some respite. Take care.”
“And you. Drive safe.”
“We will,” Tom said, offering them a smile, flashing his keys, keeping his grip on you resolute, “thanks for having us.”
Their words still loom over you like a dark cloud. It was a throwaway comment, one they’d have thought nothing of, and most people, and even you on a good day, but you’d had that… spat earlier on that changed everything. Dredging it up would just put an even further dampener on your mood, though, and with a drive home in the semi-darkness already hanging over you like a massive impending storm cloud of fear, that’s definitely not ideal.
“Nice baby, Ainsley,” Tom mentions, turning his indicator on to pull off the dual carriageway.
“Yeah, and he’s cute.”
“Nice eyes.”
And a couple more comments like those are the only conversation you share as the journey goes by, but soon enough, you’re on the home stretch, and your street rolls into view. With your head comfortably rolled back against the headrest, your eyes shut from a tiring day of exertion and childminding , you don’t notice Tom stepping out the car and unravelling his grip from you. Only does it become apparent when he opens your door and unclips your seat belt, kissing your lips tenderly, the chapped skin arising you from whatever zoned out, thoughtful state you were in before.
“Come on, let's get you inside sweetheart.” he murmurs, taking your hands in his as he helps you out the car, His chivalry never fails to astound you--he even carries your bag.
“Thanks darlin’.”
You follow him inside, kicking off your shoes routinely, shrugging off your coat to hang on the peg with your name etched above it. What happens next, though, is what shocks you the most: this isn’t part of your normal ‘returning home’ routine, not if you’ve had a day as tiring as this one. You’re neither complaining nor disappointed, though. How can you be when Tom’s lips latch onto your pulse point and he has you writhing in seconds, only his arm around the small of your back there to support you.
In one fell swoop, he has you spun around and pinned to the wall, his figure with lust-blown eyes hovering above you, every line in his face so loving, even the subtle part of his lips. They only do that when he’s so desperate to kiss you he can barely breathe, when he’s so eager to confess his love again and again that all other words are inconsequential. This is your Tom.
“Let’s try for a baby.” he says, completely resolutely, no trace of hesitation anywhere in his perfectly, delectably gruff tone. “I want one, I want us, and I don’t wanna wait to build a family with you.”
You can feel tears begin to form in the corners of your shock-widened eyes. This… this is- What changed his mind? Just hours ago, he was hell bent against the idea, but now? His cheeks are glowing at the mere prospect. Courtesy and patience be damned, that is if you can get the words out with how choked up you are…
“Really? Y-you mean it?”
His faint smile widens into a full blown grin, one that confirms everything for you. This is it, this is the Tom you agreed to marry, the happy Tom, the smiley Tom, the one who can barely contain his excitement even as he nods, a stray lock of dark blonde hair falling into his eyes as he does so.
Reasonably, you can’t be expected to hold back, and when his hair gets long enough that it falls into his eyeline? That’s your main weakness, so who can blame you when you catapult yourself up onto him, your legs joining around his wait, your arms settling around his neck. He holds you right back, catches you like he was already waiting, and pins you against the wall again. Perhaps the serotonin is too much as you both grin into a searing kiss, the every press of his lips against yours holding more passion than you can fathom a cohesive thought about. He’s… incredible.
And besides, with this enthusiasm, his kiss alone leaving you gasping and clutching onto his hair for some kind of grounding, perhaps it’ll be the first time lucky…

Summary: WCKD isn’t the only one with secrets. The Scorch has a few secrets of its own
—————————————————————————————————
It would have been stupid of the gladers to think they were the only ones left.
While it was true that WCKD had taken to picking and choosing who got to survive, that didn’t mean there was no one else left outside of their domain. It just meant that the few of you that had survived were better at it than the rest.
Sometimes you called them the forgotten, those who WCKD couldn’t use that got left behind. In the beginning, it was like your own little maze, made up of all those who didn’t mean anything to anyone because they couldn’t use you.
You were left for dead at the mercy of the scorch, and while some people had survived, as the time ticked by, fewer and fewer of those forgotten ones survived.
Most of them ended up as cranks, at the hands of the virus that had torn through the life  you once knew.  It was all you had now, and as treacherous as it was, the scorch was your home.
It was all that was left.
Which was why you were so shocked to see such a big group of them still alive out here, not deterred by the dust storms in the desert or the cranks who would surely tear them apart if they got the chance.
All in all, they were way out of their depth.
You had been staying here, in what was now little more than a bunker while now, keeping a close eye on the compound to the east. WCKD got shipments of supplies sometimes, which you had taken to ripping off occasionally.
Stealing from them was hardly the worst thing you’d done out here.
It was what you had to do to survive.
However, the last thing you’d been expecting here was a group of strangers, somehow still alive against every threat in this place. Though, from the looks of it, they hadn’t been out in it very long, which could have been the reason for that.
You watched them for a while, trying to figure out who or what they were, before eventually, you decided that you had to do something about it.
They weren’t going to survive out here on their own.
What you were doing went against your every impulse, of course, as you had learned not to trust anyone or anything, not even the other survivors that could be found bunkered down all over the scorch.
The only person you could trust was you, and even that was iffy sometimes, but for some reason, you felt differently about them.
Maybe it was because they were so desperately fighting for survival, ro maybe it was just because you’d been alone for so long but whatever it was, you had already made up your mind.
They needed your help, or they were going to die out here.
“I wouldn't do that if I were you” you called, just in time for one among them to flip the switch to the power grid. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but only if they knew even less about this place than you thought they did.
Both men in yoru view tensed at your appearance, but didn’t have any time at all to address you before the crank you’d loving been calling Doris for the past six months slammed against the bars of her cage.
She was here when you showed up here and once you’d decided that there was no risk of her getting out, it was easier to keep her alive than to put her down.
In your experience, having one around that wasn’t a threat to you, helped you keep tabs on what would draw in the rest.
“Follow me” you suggested, rushing off in the opposite direction of two of the other cranks, glad to find out that at the very least, the two of them could run. If they couldn’t, you would have been forced to leave them behind.
Just because you wanted to help them didn’t mean you were all of a sudden willing to die for strangers.
You would help them, or at least try to help them, for as long as you could. The actual survival was their responsibility, what they had to do out here because they wanted to. Everyone that survived out here had to want it.
If you didn’t, you died.
That was just how it was, and nothing was going to change that.
The pair of them shared a look, just one, before following your lead. The next few minutes went by quickly, more quickly than anyone could have predicted, as you raced toward the exit, meeting up with quite a few others in the process.
From the looks of it, the gang's all here.
You didn’t say anything more until you had made it safely, for the most part, out of the building, the door closed tightly, one metal door between you and them. All of you, with the exception of one, had made it out in one piece.
“What were you doing back there? What's going on? Who are you?” came the parade of questions as you walked, already sort of leaving the rest of them in your dust. While they clearly had no idea what was out here, you did.
...And you weren’t itching to see any more of those things tonight.
“Y/N, I was living there but I guess I’m not anymore” you decided, only looking back at them to answer the first of what you assumed would be a million more questions. The more ground you could cover before the sun went down, the better off you’d be.
If they thought one of them getting bit was bad, it was going to get so much worse in the dark. Those things thrived in the dark.
“Living there, with those things? You’ve gotta be mad” one of the scoffed, immediately forcing you to stop again.
Once again reminding you why you normally shied away from helping other people all together.
“You came out of a maze, didn’t you? Cause you definitely haven't been out here” you hummed, eyeing the blonde incredulously, though when an answer did come, it wasn’t from his lips. Instead, one of the original two you’d found, Thomas you thought you’d heard, spoke.
He was lost.
“Yeah we did, you didn’t?” he wondered, a genuine look of confusion dressing his face for a second. They hadn’t really considered an alternative, and why would they?
All this time, they had been under the impression that there was nothing out there in the scorch, but you were living proof that was a lie. It made him wonder that if that was a lie, there was a good chance other things had been too.
They just couldn’t be sure what.
“No, I grew up in the scorch” you shrugged, doing your very best to ignore the way their faces twisted up when you said it out loud. Of course they couldn’t understand what that was like, because no one could.
Only people who’d done it could even imagine what it was like.
The gladers weren’t exactly thrilled about this situation, but as uncertain as they were of you, it was clear that you were that much more concerned about them. Clearly, all this time out in the scorch had made you paranoid.
Rightfully so.
“You live out here? In this?” the blonde repeated, clearly missing the point of this conversation entirely. You wanted to make this as quick and concise as possible so as to not have to talk about it again but that wasn’t about to happen.
Not with all these shanks asking so many questions.
“Alright, I’m gonna need some names. Then I’ll tell you all about the forgotten ones” you decided, folding your arms crossed your chest, keeping as calm as you could be given the circumstances.
You didn’t have all day to sit around talking about this. From the looks of their friend, you didn’t even have till sundown anymore before you had at least one crank to deal with.
“That’s Minho, Frypan, and Teresa” he, Thomas, started, pointing each of them out in turn before moving on to the next.
“Over there is Aris,” the shortest of them.
“That’s Winston”  the soon to be crank
“This is Newt and I’m Thomas” he hummed, making it clear that there was some kind of connection between all of them that was much deeper than you would have thought, and confirming that was in fact his name.
At the very least, you had that going for you.
“There used to be more of us, out here, but as the time passes, there’s less” you started, deciding that a deal was a deal after all.
You told them you would explain this whole thing, after all.
“I’ve been on my own for a while, moving around to stay alive. Sometimes I stole from the WCKD supply trucks from the compound where you came from, but they aren’t even the biggest threat” you allowed, letting your eyes linger on Winston for a moment.
You knew that to them, he was family, but it was hard for you to see him as anything more than a ticking time bomb. You had just lost too many friends to cranks over the years to feel comfortable with him like that.
It was only a matter of time.
Thomas nodded as you spoke, thinking over each and every one of your words carefully.
After all, to the best he could tell, you had been living there all this time and when he stopped to think about it, it made sense. All those kids in the maze, they were there because they were immune, and they needed to be protected, but they weren’t the only ones left.
There was no way everyone else was dead.
Someone had to be alive somewhere, out there in the rubble, which wasn’t exactly wrong. There were plenty of people left, hiding out all over the scorch, just trying to survive.
“We’ll figure something out” he muttered, following your gaze to the male, who was currently holding tightly to Minho’s shoulder just to keep upright.
So far, it was just a sick feeling in his stomach and a dizziness clouding his thoughts, but soon it would be much more. You knew all the sighs, far too well, and you could have pinpointed exactly how it would happen.
It was a race against the clock.
“You can’t promise that. You don’t know this place like I do” you whispered, turning back around to continue on your way, not willing to discuss this any further. You wanted to believe in a cure as much as the next person, but you weren’t blind.
You didn’t get to be so naive.
“So why help us then? You clearly think this whole thing is hopeless anyway” Thomas called, jogging slightly to catch up with you, the rest of his group taking up the back. It wasn’t exactly easy to move through the sand, but you made it work.
All in all, it was easier for you than it was for them, just because you’d been doing it for longer.
You sighed, looking at him through the corner of your eye, desperately trying to understand what it was he wanted from you. This was a lot harder for you both than need be, as neither of you had a good history of working with others, but it was what it was.
It was plain and simple.
You didn’t want something to happen to them.
The Scorch had taken so much from so many people and you didn’t want to let it take anything else from anyone else if you could help it. At the very least, you could help guide them in this world they knew so little about.
It was all anyone could do, because there were so few of you left.
“Because it’s important,”
Thomas seemed to be determined to keep his family safe, and you could respect that. After all, he wasn’t the only one who’d had one, and you hadn’t been as successful as you’d hoped in your own quest.
If you could help him keep his people alive, you weren’t going to turn a blind eye to that.
“I lost my people, but you don’t have to lose yours” you decided, remembering the countless friends you’d had and lost over the years. The Scorch was real and dangerous, where nothing was ever guaranteed.
Between WCKD and the cranks, you’d lost everything. They would get bit; if they were immune, World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department was on top of it, and if they weren’t, they died.
News of the immune, even out here, was hard to keep hidden. They were valuable, and as best you knew, WCKD was already tracking them down.
Thankfully, you knew how this went down, and if they had a shot out here, it was with you.
“You would do that for us?” he questioned, unsure of what in the world was happening here. He thought he understood the world, though he understood what was going on but every time he got any information, it flipped all over again.
Thomas just felt like he couldn’t win, no matter what he did.
“Yeah, but you have to know Winston isn’t going to make it. He probably has half an hour left, at most” you whispered. There was no way you could guarantee he had even that much time but he certainly didn’t have any more than that.
It wasn’t really the news you wanted to give him but you didn’t have much choice in the matter. He’d been bitten and since he clearly wasn’t immune, that wasn’t going to change.
“Yeah, yeah, I know”
None of this was going to be easy but at the very least, he won’t have to do it alone.

“this is the homestead. we mostly hold meetings with the keepers. i’ll introduce you to them all later.”
newt explained to the new greenie during their tour. the young boy nodded, before deciding to zone out and not pay attention to what the second in command was saying. he would rather see what’s behind that gap in the walls.
“am i bloody boring you?” newt snapped, making the greenie jump and shake his head.
“good, because you could have a lot more bloody fun in the-“
newt was cut off, by a pair of soft lips catching his, and before he could even process what was happening the kiss ended quicker than it started. newt’s eyes went wide to see you, grinning widely up at him.
“love? what was that for?” newt mumbled, not expecting you to literally take his breath away.
you chuckled at his actions, “what, am i not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?”
newt was red by now, all anger going towards the greenie long forgotten as he starred deeply into your orbs.
“yes, you can kiss me all you like, love. j-just didn’t expect it, that’s all.”
you winked, causing newt to blush, before you turned around to face the greenie, extending your hand out for them to shake, which he took cautiously.
“hi, i’m y/n.” you smiled, as the greenie nodded slightly. “i’m the other second in command, with newtie here.”
“hi.” the greenie replied, looking between you both.
you could see newt out of the corner of your eye rolling his eyes at the nickname, before you jumped slightly at the feeling of his arms, wrapping around your waist. he pulled you into his chest, leaning his chin on the top of your head, glancing at the greenie again.
“but, i’m clearly the better second in command.” he teased, as you fake gasped, turning around in his grip.
he giggled, as you pouted, but soon chuckled with him. he stopped laughing though, as he titled his head to the side, as a soft smile tugged on his lips. you looked up through your lashes, breath hitching as you watched his honey orbs dance around your features.
“what’s up?”
“nothing, just thinking.” he mumbled, eyes landing on your soft lips, before glancing up to meet your loving gaze.
“about?”
his grip on your waist tightened, as he leaned down, his lips just brushing against yours, and you had to physically stop yourself from grabbing on his shirt, and yanking his lips down to meet yours.
“just thinking about how you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
you beamed at his words, moving your hands from his chest, to the back of his neck, as you toyed with the soft blonde curls, making him sigh in content. newt’s eyes flickered to your lips again, and he started to lean in. your eyes fluttered closed, and you could just feel your boyfriends hot breath against your skin. you could just feel newt about to press his lips to yours, before a cough made him jump back.
the greenie, still there but long forgotten, was stood awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. newt groaned in annoyance, as you buried your head in his chest, embarrassment washing over you.
“don’t we have a tour or something?” the boy asked, gesturing to the other half of the glade he hasn’t been to yet.
newt raised his eyebrows, “can’t you see that i’m in the middle of something, greenie?”
you breathed out, patting his chest, before leaning out of your boyfriends grasp, already missing his touch, and by the sad look on newt’s face, he did too.
“i’ll see you tonight at the bonfire, darling.”
and with that you walked away, with newt’s shouting at the greenie, the last thing you heard.
————
it was night time now. you were leaning against a log, sipping on gally’s drink. the bonfire warmed up your back, as you looked up at the sky, admiring the different constellations. yeah, the glade was tough. on everyone. but, you had to admit, it was peaceful. just sitting and watching the world go by. but, you suddenly looked down, aimlessly tracing your fingers across the grass beside you, as you were overcome with sorrow. the world. outside the maze. what is it like behind those tall, ivy covered walls? is it better than the glade? or worse? are people happy? is anyone even ali-
“hey, stranger.”
a voice cut off your thoughts, but you didn’t bother to turn to see who it was. you can tell who that sweet british accent belongs to a mile away. newt plopped down next to you, giggling slightly as some of his drink splashed over the side of the jar. you rolled your eyes playfully, at his drunk tactics, while he wrapped his arm around your shoulders, his other hand gripping tightly onto his drink. you beamed, leaning your head on his shoulder, as newt turned to place a tender kiss on the top of your head.
you could get used to a life like this. just you and newt. spending your days together. whether that be in the glade. or in the real world. if you ever get out. but, no matter where it is, you want it to be with the second in command. no matter what the cost.
you can imagine yourselves in the future. married. with a dog. maybe a daughter and an older son. playing catch on a beach somewhere. with the sun gleaming down on you all. your children laughing, while your dog barked happily, wagging it’s tail. and you and newt. just stood, with his arms wrapped around you, like he is doing now. placing sweet kisses on your forehead, and whispering how lucky you both are.
but, then the growls of the grieves and crumbling of walls moving, caused your perfect picture to abruptly end, and you were engulfed with the darkness of the glade again.
“y/n?”
“mhmm?” you lifted your head off newt’s shoulder, turning to meet his gaze. a blush creeped on your cheeks slightly, as he was already looking at you, concern written over his face.
“i said, are you okay?”
you blinked, “sorry. i dozed off a bit then.”
“yeah,” he sipped his drink, coughing slightly, “i gathered that, love. what were you thinkin’ about?”
you glanced at the walls again.
“nothing.”
he breathed out heavily, “y/n, your eyes are watering. i know it wasn’t nothing.”
that’s when you noticed how blurry your vision suddenly was, as the walls started to move like water. you swallowed the lump in your throat, turning to meet your boyfriend’s honey orbs.
“just thinking.”
“about?”
you jumped at the feeling of newt’s thumb tracing over your knuckles softly, and you looked down to see your hands intertwined.
“our future.”
“our?”
you looked back to newt, who had a small smile on his lips.
“yes, our. i want to spend my life with you, shank.”
he chuckled, “good that. i want to spend my life with you too, shank.”
you laughed slightly, before your face fell again.
“but, that wasn’t everything you were thinking about though, was it?”
“no,” you started, “i-i just want to have a normal life with you. i want to have a normal family. with a nice, normal house. and grow old together. i just want a peaceful life.”
“you can still have that life though, darling.”
“yeah, trapped in a freaking maze.” you huffed.
“i know how tough it is on you,” he breathed out a shaky breath, “believe me i know how tough it is.”
you squeezed his hand reassuringly, as your eyes watered at the memory of your boyfriend, tangled up in the ivy.
“but, we’ll get through it. no matter what the bloody people who put us here, throw at us, we’ll get through it.”
newt untangled his hand from yours, wiping of the slight sweat that was formed on his palms, on his trousers, before placing his hands on your cheeks, turning your head to face him, both of your eyes watering.
“but, trust me when i say this, we will get through his together, you hear me?”
“i hear you.” you bit your lip, smiling.
“i-i promise we’ll have the best life we can. as long as we’re together.”
you smiled, bringing your hand up to wipe a tear that was falling down newt’s cheek.
“besides, you’re in a relationship with me. you’ll never have a normal life.” he mumbled, while you giggled slightly, leaning your forehead against his.
“i don’t deserve you, newt.”
“i don’t deserve you, either.”
newt suddenly broke the gap between you both. your eyes fluttered closed, as you savoured this passionate yet sweet feeling of newt’s soft lips against yours, for all eternity.
